So today we are going to be making this sort of period cabinet go from this to this. And we're going to be doing that by utilizing this product. Let's get started. Alright, let's get the sucker open. and let's see what we got. Wow. It's not even packaged up or anything. Wow, alright. I feel like this stuff is... Whoa. There you go. All right here we are guys this is what is going to be the new veneer for this cabinet. Now this comes in like a like a nine or eight foot spread like length wise I want to say so I've already cut it down to where I've got a good couple of inches around the entire just to make sure that it gonna cover that I don need to get it down to the like centimeter or anything like that This is just a rough cut because it going to be rough anyway because I going to be cutting all the excess off of the router And now that I've got it cut, I'm going to take this, apply cement. I say cement. I mean, like, you know, let me go get the can real quick. Contact cement. Put this on the cabinet and on the veneer and then we're going to let it dry. Alright, I want to say it's been about 10-15 minutes since I applied the contact cement and I'm just making sure that it's ready to apply. And by doing so I'm just making sure that it's not really tacky tacky sticky and it looks like it's ready to go. So what I'm doing here is going to be applying spacers so that way whenever I first set this baby down, then it's not going to get stuck where I don't want it to. Once it makes contact, it's going to be sticky. Oh man, good thing it's not windy out here otherwise this would suck. Woo! See what I mean? There's a stick there. No wonder. That's not going on very smooth. Alright All right All right, just making sure that I had full contact all the way around the edges, and I do. All right, so I'm going to take my router that has a flush router bit on it, which gives me the ability to go all the way around the perimeter of this without worrying about going too far in and damaging the cabinet. Let me start over here where there's the least amount of wood. Thank you. BAM! Thank you Go Red Let take a little mosey tour around the cabinet here guys I believe the veneer or laminate job is now officially complete. As you can see, the exterior looks like a brand spanking new cabinet, while the interior remains the same. Now this is a close up to show you the thickness of what that veneer, that laminate looks like. So thin. So it does a really great job of not making the cabinet girthier. So basically whatever you take off laminate wise it's already on there plus sanding is basically evened out once you put the new laminate on there. So it's nice, clean square all the way around. Pretty much did a, not a complete rebuild, but pretty much did a lot of work on the neck right here with new laminate and filler and everything to get all those gaps and everything from the wood, from all the water damage it received over the years. So we're ready to get it all cleaned up and then I believe we should be ready for paint. Thank you.
