After months of speculation, this morning Multimorphic Pinball revealed the "dream" theme for its upcoming pinball machine. Drumroll please...Weird Al's Museum of Natural Hilarity. I used to have Weird Al's albums on cassette as a kid, so I'm very familiar with his music and brand of comedy. I thought that it was really funny when I was young. Also, the Weird Al movie UHF is an absolutely hilarious classic. I watched it again with my boys a few months ago. I don't know that I'd call Weird Al a "Dream Theme" for me, but I like it. The timing of this game release is really good. Daniel Radcliffe, of Harry Potter fame, is actually in the process of filming a biopic about Weird Al's life right now. The additional publicity from the movie and new buzz about Weird Al can only benefit Multimorphic's new game. The game has the potential to include some really funny stuff. Including things from UHF and the classic MTV music videos would be fantastic, but if I had to bet I'd say that this game will consist of mostly new IP. The one picture below of Weird Al dressed up in combat gear certainly looks like a nod to UHF's hilarious Rambo scene. We'll see. The P3 module supposedly has a packed playfield with lots of toys, which will be really cool. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new game in action!
