Fine. it's our show it's his show it's my show we can do whatever you want and we are it's all good do you watch the super awesome pinball show uh yeah i listened to most of it and i thought they did a pretty good job i think uh it was it was entertaining uh there was um they swear too much poking poking poking um no i i don't know i mean it was only one episode they didn't actually talk I mean, they talked about pinball. They were talking about some of the pinball shows, I think.

    The recent arcade. There was, what, an arcade show down in, was that Houston or something? Or somewhere in Texas, maybe. Yeah, they talked about the Houston, and they also talked about Freeplay Florida. Yep, yep. So they were talking about these different shows, and one of the funny things I just thought of, they said Jersey Jack and Stern and American Pinball, because it wasn't a pinball-centric place. They were all kind of shoved in one corner together. Yeah, that was pretty awesome. So I'm just picturing Gary Stern and Jack just kind of like arms crossed, staring at each other.

    And then American Josh Coogler is there, and he's just like, hi, guys. Right. You know? Yeah. No, good show, Chris and Dr. Pin and Ed Van Der Veen from Texas Pinball Festival. Thank you. Thank you, Drew. So very cool, very cool. So, yeah, my favorite part was when Chris Franchi was talking about his artwork, and he gave a tutorial on how he did the Guardians of the Galaxy play field. And I don't want to spoil it. I think you guys should all go listen to it. But it involves a unicorn and Chris Franchi hunting one in the woods. It was pretty wild, dude. It was pretty funny. I was cracking up. Well, he has a lot of Easter eggs in his art, which is going to make a lot. Well done. And I just hope they can keep that production value going steady because the editor in me was shuddering throughout the whole thing. I was like, oh, my God. There was a lot of production value. And some people like that. Some people don't. But, yeah, it's a good show. I'm excited to see how it goes. There would be no fucking way we would be able to do that. No. That one show alone would have taken me a month to do. I just couldn't do it. All the time when I ask you, hey, you can just edit this in. You can do this. Yeah, why don't we do this cool sound effect? I want it to sound like a bugle, but then I want to morph it into a rhinoceros owl. So anyway, Freeplay Florida is a three-day event. They have it every year. I think it's going on 10 or 12 years. I'm not too sure about that one. Fact-checking, won't you?

    It's a three-day event Friday, Saturday, Sunday. It's over in Orlando, usually sometime in November.

    This is my third one in a row that I've been to. This one, they're always different because there's volunteers that run the event, and it's also like people donate their own machines for these events. So there's no set. This is what's going to be there each and every year. There's always like Little Shop of Games, who is like the dominant distributor down here. He showed up with Stern Alley, Stern Pinball Alley, which was just this massive row. And he also had a bunch of really nice JJP stuff there. American Pinball was there with a row of their, mostly they had the Monster Bashes there, so it was a good time a lot of arcade, it's more and more transitioning to 50% arcade, 50% pinball, give or take they always try and fill in with a lot of the other guys, like a lot of panel discussions the Angry Nintendo Nerd Angry Video Game Nerd was there, and David Crane was there the Q-Bert guy was there Butch Patrick was there Franchi was there, which was cool I got to meet him, I made sure I said, hey, I love the new Poor Man Pinball Podcast shirt you made and he said, oh thanks I told him I was listening to it at 15 and he didn't, I don't think he knew what that was doesn't matter, I bought some artwork so he was okay, he was like, oh great I bought a nice, the Munsters Translite and Beatles not Translite, the artwork that turned into the Translites so he's a cool guy after listening to him talk and some of that I can tell he's a really cool guy just some general impressions got to spend some time on Elvira and fell in love with Elvira I didn't expect to either I wasn't sure about that one because I know it was the third one I had a long running B-movie review podcast called Slow Robot a Go-Go and it had like 350 335 shows something like that I don't remember. But there was a lot of B-movies. So I've done that for years and years and years, talked about B-movies, watched these horrible movies. And they had the video clips, and she's riffing on these movies. And I knew every one of them. I own every one of them. So I kind of felt at home playing it, if you know what I mean.

    Spent some time on the Star Wars, the one with the Hyperloop and the other one. That was a surprise because I really liked that pinball machine. And I didn't expect to. I didn't even expect to play it. It wasn't one I was like, oh, I can't wait to play the Star Wars Comic Sans Edition or whatever they call it. They had a row of the JJP stuff where they had a JJP limited edition Wonka there. So it had the Wonka Vader and the Gobstopper and all that stuff. That was gorgeous. They had a Ruby Red and a Yellow Brick World edition of the Woz, which I'm not a super fan of the JJP stuff. They're great shooting games. They're beautiful. I just, there's something about them, me personally. It's just my opinion. don't get angry everyone it's okay to have opinions um i'm trying to think what else they had down that road because they had a ton of sterns too they had the dialed in they had a bunch of wonkas to get everyone there then they had um they had some older like metallica and uh iron man and stuff like that i was playing the hulk and uh are the avengers and i was really lighting it up and the hulk's arm fell off and slid down down the bottom of the playfield that was funny i had to text the guy because his number was there and i kind of texted him saying hey I turned your machine off because the Hulk's arm fell off. That was an experience. We also finally got to put in a bunch of time on an Oktoberfest. Hadn't got to play one, and I've always been chomping at the bit to get at one. Really dig the machine. That might have made it into my, not top ten, but definitely on the lookout for my bar room, you know, arcade, whatever you want to call it. I played it and played it, and I was like, I bet you there's a lot going on in that game. I mean, I'm sure it's a lot more deep, a lot deeper than what I got to. Because, you know, at an expo, you're always kind of like, oh, you just, you're standing there, you're waiting in line, and you get up to play, you play it, and you don't get any time because then you turn around and there's a line, you've got to either go to the back of the line or whatever. But as I played it, it was late Friday night and there was no one else around. Like, it kind of, like, was closing down and there was a lot of people were out drinking or whatever. I got to go on it a couple times in a row. and that's when I really kind of hopped on and played it and got into some modes and started unlocking stuff and I was like, this is a fun game. I totally dig on the Oktoberfest game. I would be very proud to have one of those in my collection. But overall it was great.

    I always go over there. We stay for three days. I interview people. Got to interview Dirty Donnie a couple years ago right after he did the artwork for Metallica and Aerosmith. He just put out that Backlight book. Talked with Billy Mitchell. Super cheesy movies that are like open IP. That's why they were able to use them. I don't think they paid a cent for any of those. I recognized a couple of them. I know I did see, you know, the original Night of the Living Dead. That's a pretty easy one. But there was another one or two that I could pick out because I'm kind of a B-horror fan myself.

    No, the Elvira Package is a great game. Don't get me wrong. That game is a lot of fun. Whoever owns it is probably very happy with that purchase. It's just a little rich for my blood. Bye. all right drew what do you got for the poor man's podcast personal pinball news uh a couple of things um some some old stuff some new stuff um firepower is officially complete it is 100 working i did it all with my set of rocks yeah it's a whole tool chest of rocks people it's impressive i got small rocks big rocks medium-sized rocks hard rocks soft rocks they're all in there but uh smooth rocks skinny rocks yeah yeah sharp rocks you know i get the job done but uh no i'm you know what my my confidence level in working on pinball machines has has doubled tripled quadrupled i mean i i did literally every facet of the machine on on here and it was very cool and i got it done and i'm ready to take on a bigger project now nice nice so that that's that's what i'm most excited about but you know what when i first got this game and it wasn't working because I didn't know how it was supposed to sound or whatever. I didn't watch a lot of videos. And I turned the thing on, and the sounds were all screwed up, and I didn't know that. And I'm like, this game sucks. Yeah. And I'm playing this thing, and it's slow and whatever, so I make all these adjustments, and I fix all this stuff. That game is really cool. Cool. Firepower is a neat game. Cool. And it's in the top 100, which is literally number 100.

You're going to love it. And lastly, last week on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I went out with our buddy Josh Seekert. Josh, friend of the show, friend of us. Yep, we had a great time. Love you, Josh. Went out, played a bunch of pinball. We found an attack from Mars with no tote bob. So him and I moved it at least 10 feet across the floor. Shame. We racked up the score. Shame. It was pretty funny. Then we found an Iron Maiden with no tote bob, and we did the exact same thing.

He made a $100 donation in the Poor Man's Pinball podcast name to the Wisconsin Humane Society, which holds a special place for Ian and I because we both got our dogs from there. Yeah, I got two dogs from there. So three dogs have been rescued from the Wisconsin Humane Society. They do great work. They got places all over. The big one is here in Milwaukee. Ian Hauer from the bottom of our hearts we really do thank you it was very generous of you we have a donation in the name of the poor man's pinball pocket wasn't that weird to see that we got this email from Wisconsin Humane Society saying a donation has been made in your name and I was like wow we're legit yeah we felt like we touched the world a little bit through Ian Hauer no Ian seriously we're not joking Three dogs. We love them to death. They're our family. And yeah, Wisconsin Maine Society, if anyone out there is listening, we'd love to have you on. We can talk about Wisconsin Maine Society on fucking Friday. Now, they just released their conditions for the podcast segment. So this is where I'm going to need to call on all of our listeners. It's for the Twippy votes. Yeah, for Twippy voting. The podcast voting will be done basically. There's going to be a pre-vote starting. Well, it'll already be going once you hear this. So it starts on the 3rd, which is Tuesday. What they're going to do is they're going to count all the pre-votes for things like the write-ins, like podcast, and the top 10 of each one will be on a drop-down menu for the Twippy voting. Does that make sense? Did I say that right? So, yeah, I'm reading right here on Twip's website. These will be write-in votes, and they will determine the drop-down selections. So we would like to at least hit the drop-down. For January voting. Yes. December 3rd through December 12th. So you have about, what is that, nine days, ten days. Yes.
