TL;DR

Tutorial: Adjusting Chum-Chucking Brody speed via Stumbler Mods editor app

Summary

Stumbler Mods demonstrates how to customize the speed and animation patterns of the Chum-Chucking Brody toy mechanism on a pinball machine using their mod editor app. The video shows adjusting spin speed values (127 down to 80 or lower) to slow down Brody's arm movement, and explains how different brightness patterns (like 'sawtooth') control the mechanics of the chuck animation.

Key Claims

  • The spin speed value for Chum-Chucking Brody animation can be reduced from default (127) to lower values (e.g., 80) to slow down the toy's movement

high confidence · Davey demonstrates live in the editor: 'The spin speed here is currently set to 127. Now if I reduce that to say 80...you can see the movement has been slowed down.'

  • Brody's sawtooth pattern involves pushing forward fast and then slowly pulling his arm back

high confidence · Davey explains: 'This one is what you could refer to as a sawtooth pattern. So, he pushes forward fast and then slowly pulls his arm back.'

  • The Stumbler Mods editor app allows selection of different brightness patterns to control Brody's movement variations

high confidence · Davey states: 'That is dependent on this brightness pattern here, tilted wide. There's lots of other patterns to choose from.'

Hi guys and welcome to another episode of Stumbler Mods' How the Heck Do I Do It? Um, today I received this message from my good friend Paul Jazzbuche. Um, saying that he had a customer who was asking about how to slow down the movement on the Chum-Chucking Brody and whether it's possible or not. Well, it certainly is possible and I'm going to show you how to do it. So, I've got the Stumbler mod editor app open on the left here and uh Chum-Chuck and Brody on the right. Um, I've selected Brody on the left here. And I can see that Brody, when he's at rest, is in a 90° position, but doing nothing, no animation. And when sensor one is triggered, he's going to play pattern three, chuck it, for 3 seconds. Now, if we test that, we can see that Brody does his thing, which we all know and love. Now, if you wanted to slow that down, all we'd have to do is select this pattern, chuck it, by clicking on this arrow, goes through to the patterns page. Now, the spin speed here is currently set to 127. Now if I reduce that to say 80 and then test it from within here by selecting Brody and turning it on, you can see the movement has been slowed down. Likewise, we can slow it down even further, and Brody chucks that chum in an even slower pattern. So there's lots of options here. Um, you can change the pattern um that he's doing. This one is what you could refer to as a sawtooth pattern. So, he pushes forward fast and then slowly pulls his arm back. Um, that is dependent on this brightness pattern here, tilted wide. There's lots of other patterns to choose from, and you can do lots of different movements, um, and lots of different speeds to get Brody chucking the chum exactly how you want it. Thanks for watching. Hope that made sense. Great. Bye.
