All right, everybody, welcome back to, what are we at, the top 16, what do we call this, the quarterfinals? Yes. Of Classics 2. We had Classics 1 yesterday. Now we have Classics 2. I'm Jonathan Soon. I'm sometimes on Pins and Pirates on Twitch. I'm Derek Price from San Diego. And I'm Dave Stewart from the Seattle Monday Night Pinball from the Seattle community. Nice. Before anything else, I do want to say that one of our own, Ashley Weaver, Women's Champion this year. She's been a captain for years since the beginning of this, so congratulations to her. Yeah, we streamed that. It was a very, very awesome playoffs. And she got all first, I think, in the last round. Swept it. That's a nice way to do it. So I think you're right that they are doing something to Cheetah. Yeah, they're making some modifications. And then they do something to Carhop. I don't know. I heard they might be taking out the outlane rubbers on Carhop. I know they're playing at one player now to remove the catch-up. Catch-up mechanic. Yeah. Yeah. The 38 million point shot. Is that what Colin got? Yeah. Because I looked away, and then it's like, wait, where did he get 30-some million? Yeah. He got the catch-up on there. It's a mystery. He selected it. So it was between that and 1,000 points, and he selected wisely. I was wondering if there's a ROM that disables that, but I guess not. Did he have to hit a shot for that catch up? Just the scoop on the right. It was lit for the mystery. So it was one of the mysteries. You just had to choose it. You didn't even have to hit the shot after that. You have to scroll and stop, but it's sort of hard. You can miss it. But it is funny. It's not funny in a tournament probably, but it's funny when you're playing with your friends. Yeah, it looked a lot like the Indy 500 change one. one. Yeah, it's a lot like that. Yeah, exactly. I don't know if it's timed, though. It didn't seem like it was tremendously timed. But either way, the best... I think it was a 35 million point shot in the end. Yeah. And he's in this round now as a result. Yeah, that one point he got. It took the lowest player, and then he got one point for coming in third. I'm trying to pull up the playoffs right now. I don't know what group we're following though that's the other question well yeah there is the rig is on Frontier so whoever chose Frontier Keith probably unless he deferred because Keith is player one on Frontier so that means he probably selected it and going player one that would be my guess yeah because unless yeah yeah unless he's saving some some picks for later but if you would defer wouldn't you not pick position one I don't know. Not sure. So yesterday we had some great, like, spinner sounds. Now we're going to get cricket sounds. Yeah, the chirp chirps. Yes, the best part of Frontier. What is it? Like, do-do-do. Yeah. Do-do-do. It's like you're one with nature. Yeah. It's cool. Even though we've been in a convention center 24 hours at this point. Well, it's been raining outside at least, so at least that's somewhat nature-y. I thought they said it never rains in Southern California. It's been a special Indus. We got rain. And I got a lot of drains, so that's definitely happened. They aren't kidding about the name. It never drains. I get flood alerts every two hours on my phone. Yeah, that happens a lot. If you drive around this town, this city. But, yeah, it is raining here in Southern California, living up to the name of the tournament. It's like downpouring. Yeah, no, it's heavy rain. It's not like, yeah, this is significant. We usually get like two or three minutes, and then the sun's back out, and it's 70 degrees for all you people in New Robert Englunds. I'm from there, so I'm allowed to say that. The rain feels like Seattle. Yeah. Maybe that's what Seattle players have the advantage. Ashley had the advantage. It felt like home. All right. Here's Keith. Makes sense. Okay. We're on. So what would be your five-minute thing? Like you've got to, like, fill this up? Yeah. So, I mean, you're hitting the left drop target to light the 1,000 spinner. And then you're just going up top all day. You're hoping to get the letters and the three columns filled up. And any time that top right part is open, you want that to fall in there. Big points. It collects the, I think it's that rainbow value, the 10,000, 20,000, 30,000. I believe that it collects that. Frontier. Yeah. So first shot is like always the inline drops. Yeah. You want to get the first one to light your spinner. Otherwise, there's no point. Now it's like the spin on the right is lit. and you go up there, and now that collect bonus shot relights every time you hit a drop target. So some people will go for the drop target one after the other whenever the ball's on the right flipper to advance their bonus X. Others will not hit the drop target until they collect bonus. Okay. And we can see what Keith does. And you can also get a sneak in from the right pop bumper into that, whether it's lit or not every once in a while. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that happens enough to be warranted. In theory, it's the exit, but... Yeah. It's going the other way. So one of the things about this game, the mylar towards the bottom, you will see some really odd redirects. Like down here, or what do you mean? Yes, yeah, you're going to see the ball travel a lot of different ways. So I would not expect anyone to try and post-pass it or do anything weird from the right flipper just because of how unpredictable that part is. So you don't expect to see tap passes or alley pass on this? Oh, whoa. What was that? Okay, well, if your name is Keith Elwin, you can do whatever you want. For sure. Yeah, it was a really, really light tap pass. Wow. He's got it. You saw, even when it hit the flipper, it kind of went left. Like, it's just a very odd. It's not going all the way up. No. Not as far up on the flipper as he would like. Yeah. Oh. Whoa. Yep. But, I mean, decent start. Progress, 200,000. And he's proving he's actually human. Yeah. What carries over? I mean, these carry over, right? Yeah. From all the ball? The animal progress? I believe that. I don't believe the bonus multiplier does not, right? Right. And those are the three bank on the right there. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. Yeah. So, very typical. I think every lit column piece is, like, 3,000. What a shat. Well, he's aiming for post. He just wants the ball on the right flipper. Yep. Do they still have the, yeah, they still have the note on the machine. He has to shake it out. There's a sign right there. Yep. Shake it out. And it's left. I saw it get stuck on the right and they took it out. So if it's stuck on the left, there's a sign. So they're basically, the tilt bob is loose, we'll state, for this very reason. because the player is forced to do this. There is a lot more given the game than probably expected. Yeah, I think some side-to-side actually will probably shake it loose. Yeah, he's very afraid to do this. No, I understand. Until you know where the tilt is, it's very... Well, and if you didn't play this in qualifying. Yeah, exactly, right? I didn't, but, you know, did you? I played it in match play. Okay. So I know of these nuances. Got it. I did not play this game to... I didn't play this game at all this weekend. Yeah, almost off of there. All right. Let's see. Side to side a little bit, maybe? He's going to give it the big up nudge. And every time you do it, you put just like a little bit more force into it. Yeah. Yeah. So it's going to be a little bit. But once they realize that this is pretty loose. Is there a hint on what's the best way that they could add to that? Like hit it on the left or hit it on the right? I think you should just... So this happened last Indus to me, and I shook it a little side to side like a shimmy, and it came out. But I don't know if this is last Indus. This is this Indus, so I don't know. Yeah, I don't know if this is like the mylar in the center. I'm not sure what this is getting caught on. Obviously, it's on the bottom right of the ball. Oh, almost. But if it was like a folded up piece, then they would have taken care of that. It's got to be something else that's catching it. But we can listen to the cricket sounds. It's getting pretty late. It's not that late. It's not even that late. Never mind. It feels late, but it's not. Yeah, East Coast people. It's like white noise for all of y'all. There it is. There we go. Yay. All right. And now we know the amount of force. Right. Exactly. And it didn't tilt. Yeah. A minor some applause possibly. Yeah. For that, that should also be worth some points. Yeah, for sure. So have you backhanded this before, like Star Trek style? Into the drops? Yeah, like when it comes out of there? No, I'm not. There you go. So that column is done. So the ANC columns have a wonderful, the pop can go back and forth a bunch of times, and that's just wonderful. You like that. If you complete a whole set, there is a super bonus, I believe. There's a lot going on in the play field. I think you're right. There's some way to bank. Yeah. And I thought it was, like, labeled someplace. I'm looking at it right now. So here's an example where he hasn't collected bonus. If you notice, he wasn't going for the next drop target. He was trying to get the ball onto the other flipper to shoot the spinner. Because you collect the bonus spot up here, right? when it comes in. Lots of sighs from the crowd on that one. Yeah. Yeah, this game for this era, it has a lot of really nuanced rules. So because the right most column is full, the top right target is now lit for 15,000. There's three deadly targets that can also fill up your board. But as soon as it's full, you'll know, just in case the light would be out, you'd know because the arrow would be lit on the three. All right. A. And the ABC twice, I believe, lights the extra ball, which I would assume is off points, hopefully. This is going to happen. Get used to it. And this is why they told you to shake it out. Imagine having to remove the ball. Yeah. Open the machine every time this happens. Yeah. That would be a nice thing. But he released it so much quicker. Yeah, he's got the hang of it. There you go. Nice. Oh, all right. Lots of progress on the animals. Or what are we called? Denta Predators? Yeah, Denta Predators. Keeping it close. Yeah, I mean, after all of that, I was going to say it was a very long ball. Some of it was because it was stalled. Man, remember stall ball when that was played every tournament for a while? That was awesome. I missed that. That needs to be brought back. All right. I'm making a note, Derek. It'll happen. All right. Perfect. So here's Eric from Florida. Keith was originally from this area, I believe, or San Diego. Yep. Just north. But living in Chicago now as a Stern designer. Yep. Daniele all the way from Italy. Yeah. Eric from Florida. And Richie is one of our local players from Seattle. So very well represented across the globe. for sure the oh dead bounce on this machine is awesome these big big valley flippers like this yeah a little fumble but it's alright just ball one it's a bit of a progress game but it really is it's kind of it's a one ball So, you know, you can have a big blow-up ball. Right, because you can, like, knock all the drops down and then. Yeah. It also gets more interesting later in the game because when you do have the bonus, the collect bonus is worth that much more. So, one ball game, but really a ball three game if you can build up your bonus on ball one and two. Ooh, nice. That's one. Yep. Spinner's lit. Two of them. Yeah, it's playing fast. Some really nice little tip-overs there. Here we go. Let's see. He went at it quite hard right from the start. I suspect he's played this game before and Daniele has it. Yeah. And that was a difference. Daniele had not seen it. less familiar with how much he can push it. That tap pass almost looked like the flipper dragged a bit. Yeah. That bounced so fast that the ball disappeared for a few seconds. The camera last That was a 4D pop bumper right there. The top of the slings are the biggest death in this one. Top of the sling to the out lane so common on this. on both sides that's actually so common on so many machines i would like to know how do you save that one i just think that this solid state error like it's just a little bit worse but maybe i mean maybe it is on all but because the outlanes are uh are a little bit lower than the sling like significantly lower i feel like yeah i haven't gone diagonal like lying down or sloped down that way sort of yeah yeah like so many people that's probably how i lose you know a lot of balls at bounce and yep yo is it just me am i not nudging correctly or is it like well i guess you could you could do that yeah now that wasn't the top now that he knows that you can shake the game pretty hard i mean you realize that you can get away with quite a bit on those outlines well i suspect with keith having picked it that he's played it during the qualify for sure but he also might have only put one card up in qualifying. Also possible because his games were really long and really high scoring. Was it like 90 million on Carhop? In that Arena game, I don't know how long it took. He's been on fire. Nice little dead bounce. That was well executed with the comeback, let it bounce and straight to the spinner, really maximizing points from that like sequence of two shots. That was a nice nudge because that one was actually heading to the top of the slingshot. Yeah. And he managed to nudge it off the drops to the left-hand side of the slingshot instead of the right-hand side, which is kind of that indication. I was asking how do we prevent those. Usually it's not let the ball go there at all. Yeah. Yeah. In there twice. Big points. just under 600,000. Nice. That, that was a great one to, to have it carry him off the top above the in lane and have it drop straight down. So wait, now if he gets ABC again, can get special. Does that points? I have no idea. I've never seen this lit. Yeah. I don't get this far. No. Wow. That was huge. You're asking the important questions. I like it. I'm always curious when extra balls and specials are worth points. Unless I know it, I just pretend when I'm playing, I pretend like it's worth nothing. That's probably the best plan. I'm presently surprised if you get points. You guys plunge in to collect bonus there? Unfortunately, any bonus X would not be. Alright, A is completed. A and C is complete. Just need the B column. You could shoot the center target right up the middle to fill up the B. Yeah, that's right. It's only three shots to fill it up. I'm talking about this awesome one right here. Going to develop a new strat. Yeah. It's like spelling spa in Future Spa. Yeah. I mean, you guys saw that lean, right? That right to left. Yeah. I think you could see that for sure. It's prevalent. 15,000 points at a time. and and to be fair this little in-lane drop shot is not easy oh no it's got a weird corner to it it's like if you compare it to some other in-lane drops like on paragon which has a nice wide uh you know a lot of flexibility i find frontier has this corner like on the bottom left this one here yes That corner right there, that blocks, partially blocks the shot. So it's not the cleanest of shots. If you do a perfectly clean shot up there, you might hit that corner and not get it. You have to squeeze it around there. Now, he lifted the drop target, but it didn't drop there. It's setting it up for the second hit. These are hard drop targets. Right. They're on hard settings. The hard settings, yeah. The valley hard settings. That's right. So the rollovers are a little tough because you can see it. Everything's kind of rolling left, so to roll it over to the right flipper, it's just not getting all the way where you want it to be. But the players are getting more comfortable with the tilt blob. We saw a really big move earlier by him. All right. That's kind of the way you want it when you shoot it up there. You bounce it, get the collect bonus. Now go for another drop and relight it for the next time around. Yeah. That was only $20,000 each time we got in there, but it's free, so he'll gladly accept it. The spinner's lit, so this is where you're going anyways. It's $1,000 a spin. Everything else is just accidental and okay, but at this point, once you have that first drop and you're on the left flipper, it's up top all day. This is all it is. You hope for the right lanes, complete a card, and then you do it again. And he's got that spinner shot. And you hope for the ball to do exactly that. Just go nicely down the left in lane. Feed the left flipper. Try for another drop. There we go. Yeah, the spinner's mildly juiced. It's not bad. How many spins, how many thousand are we getting per spin? I'm saying about 25 on a solid, really good hit. So this game has two sets of bonus X. Notice he just lit the 2X above the A, but there's also the 2, 3X on the drop targets on the right. What is the difference between those 2X, 3X and 4X? The 2, 3, 4 does the card bonus. No, the 2, 3, 4 on the right does the... And the other bonus does the collect on the top right part. So that frontier bonus. The rainbow is called. Yeah. You can get that, and as that goes up, you can also collect that on the right-hand side. And the ball bonus is which one applies. The end of all bonus, I believe, is the right-hand one. From the drops. These, right? Yes. The predators, basically? It's this thing. Yeah. Which is why the 2x shows above the flip edge. Oh, yeah. Here we go. Yeah. I see. That's great. and it but it is deceiving because below the flippers it says collect bonuses oh you're right like this it's kind of telling you like just wait for it there might be multiple yeah more than one okay uh hey finished just i mean we got a race here yeah first uh first player one of three right at 700 000 still a ball to go and like i said i i really feel oh the return from that is not what you want. Yeah, it was on the flipper. I think it just came in a little bit to the center and then he wasn't expecting it. Well, no. Actually, what that looked like to me is he was going to let it bounce past the same way we saw Keith do it. And then he realized an emergency move that, wait, it's too close to the tip of the flipper. It is not bouncing. He tried to save it with a last-minute flip, but that wasn't enough. Yeah. I looked it up. I don't think Keith has played this game. At least not on a ticket that was submitted. I'd say that. Might be voided. He's probably played this at three other indests. That's probably true, though. That's 100% true. There it is. So he's going to get the 45,000 bonus, which was in the middle. I was looking for that insert for, like, ball one and ball two. Yeah, it's because it's so dark. Yeah, Keith was nice enough to light it for us. Yeah, thanks. All right, Daniele's stepping up. yeah honestly amazing that he came all this way and is playing like so well with like i mean there's no jet lag or anything it's just like wow i'm amazed yeah someone who's super tired i'm amazed i know we drove like an hour i know and i'm tired i'm like yeah yeah because he played uh he was at uh the local uh wednesday tournament too yep and no sorry tuesday that where he was jet lagged for that Yes because yeah there was unfortunate out of uh yeah uh played out of turn But it okay Not doing it here Yeah exactly we're cool. Well he succeeded on the post pass. Yeah that was pretty solid. Yeah oh nice nice patience. There we go. Rips the spinner. So this is ball three. He knows he needs something if he can get the the b lane he'll complete a card and this is it's you don't start going for those drop targets on the right when you have 45 000 but it's you just know that it's kind of there and if it hits it you're you're not mad okay yeah all right here we go and he's he's got the collect on the on the gate on the top too so that would uh be 50 flat uh if he gets another drop, then I believe it would double that. So one spinner rip will be 500 easy, right? Just the spinner rip? Yeah. And what built the frontier bonus? This. How do you advance the rainbow? What built that one? We know the inlanes I believe it's every time you have a three row of the lights yes so they do a little show like he just so they are related those two yes uh-oh yeah dangerous yeah because it does a little show every time you have the same level and so it's incentivizing you to do it in order like you have a lot of choice when it's in the pop bumpers and stuff but a nice little added piece you know all right There's a little dance and you saw the 10,000 go up Lights the spinner Asks for it back, gets it The question is How much bonus does he have right now So that's going to be 45 minus 9 36 36,000 Oh you're the math major So he's not quite there is he Nope. Did he tilt that one? No bonus? I think he tilted, right? It didn't count up. Yeah. It would have been short because he didn't have any multiplier on it. But. All right. So that. We know our first. We know where the. I mean, player four has got a little bit of a hill to climb. But definitely doable. All right. Okay. Completes the... Yeah, did a little dance. There you go. Yep. Horizontal roll. Getting some nice inlanes right there. Yeah. You do like that. And that's going to come over. Oh, yeah. That was too big of a move. Yeah. We could see that one on the camera. But if you don't trust it, if you don't know that that lean from right to left is coming, You just, it's so easy when you're watching to be like, oh, just let it hit the top of the flipper and bounce over. And, man. Right. Yeah, when you're at the machine, you don't get this nice top-down view. Yeah. Well, that's four points for Keith. Yeah. Yeah. And two points for Eric. Yep. So, Daniele's got one. Richie has zero. It's all right. And how many games do we have going on at this time? Yeah. So it should be four. How many are left? That's the question, right? Yeah. Yes. I'm looking. The 100-point question. Awesome. We have... Arena is in progress. That's the only game in progress right now. Maybe you can run down the... Jonathan, since you have it there. Yeah. So in Group 2, they played Target Pool. Jeff Teolis has four. Colin has two. Escher has one. DJ has zero. Group four, Jack Tadman has four. Josh Sharpe has two. They played Cheetah. Joseph Lemire has one. And Travis has zero. And the other group is Johnny, Derek Thompson, Andrew Foster, and Neil. Neil Graff. They're still playing Arena. So they played Cheetah and they're already done. Yes. And we believe they did something. thing i saw jay collins like working furiously over there we had this conversation off to the side where he's like i can't believe this is happening do we know what was done on it and was it remove that switch in the end i hope it was yeah that would certainly change totally the strategy on that game and and jay was smiling furiously as he ripped the whatever out you know nice he's just he's like no he was not him he was yeah he was not happy with that with how that went see now i would be okay seeing cheetah again right to see how different right yeah suddenly play no i think now you would probably go for those multiplier drop targets on the right yeah i think it becomes the three bank on the right because it carries over right yes yes that that was a nice set that was a pleasant surprise where we have a local one where it resets on each one okay this one carried over and it's like yes i saw everyone else doing that left shot and i was just doing the one ticket and it's like you know i'm gonna play it the way i want see if i can like collect you know i love the 5x 100k collect and so i was going after the right targets to get the bonus x and you know did okay one and a half you know million which but that's because i missed that's because the left shots never went all the way up to the switch it was often not going all the way but even that in lane was it dropped one of the one through five targets and ten thousand And then, all right, we're live with Arena. But it's a nice ROM update, just so people know. Unless you have the special tournament ROM, that left orbit, you can keep collecting bonus over and over. Once it's lit, it's lit the rest of the game. And that really made that shot dominating. By changing the ROM, they felt that they took that away, that shot, but it looked like they needed another adjustment. Yep. Well, we now have Arena. Johnny's at $5 million. I mean, those are some good scores already. Three or four million was solid. So I don't know if this was streaming the other round, but right now we're plunging up to that circle in the top, trying to put it in the middle section, which is a million. A great little feature, kind of fun. You know, there's some skillful nudging as you get up there, too. The rubbers are all there. Yep. We'll have to see it again to go through the rules a bit. Yeah. We're not going to have time. That was, I believe, ball three, player four. Yeah. Yeah. So we have Johnny taking the win and Neil second place on that one. Nice. Andrew? One of the key parts, and it is fun, is every ball you can try and plunge the million. So that's a big part of it. And I know that if it comes back up, we'll get to see more. But half of your score can easily come from just two of those million shots. And when you lock, you get another plunge? Yes. Okay. Yep. So, either of you want to hazard a guess what Keith picks next, assuming we're watching that same game? We don't actually control who. Yeah, but I don't know what, did he pick any games in the first round? That's the other question. That's right, because there is the rule, right? You cannot pick the same machine. If you have picks, you cannot pick the same machine more than once, I believe, in the entire tournament. Unless you've picked them all. But that's not going to happen here. That's not going to happen in this. It could have happened in women's, though. That's why I'm about to say that. I want to see stars, honestly, because the spinner on this one I heard was incredibly juiced. So it sounded really fun to rip. Stars is a tough game to begin with, but it's five balls here, though. It is five balls. You get that much more play for the action. Yeah, and it's just nice. sometimes the spinners on stars just aren't wonderful and this one was really really good so that's what I want to see SoCal really loves their spinners that's what I noticed oh got it oh people are watching we're on a level 3 hype train we've got shoutouts to Carl and IE Pinball awesome channel please follow, subscribe whatever, all the things yeah, definitely it's the heart, I think alright so I guess that's why they didn't move the rig ok, so now we do have to go we should go through the rules so this is a million the million skill shots yeah, I got that part down and then there's a multiball get three skill shots last game would have given you second place just for that yep and it's not an easy skill shot oh no yeah uh so it's weird like coming around i don't know how to describe it where like you can't see that yeah like that there you go yep oh there it is well never mind it's easy for keith now there's also a way to relight that during play and i don't quite recall it's been a while i don't know if it's like you know at some point you shoot the ramp to collect it but you have to enable it somehow yeah and then you can redo your skill shot yeah and what you're going to see up here like the the main strategy of the weekend has been spinner uh to the top part once you spell the three letters that the l-o-k up here yeah uh which you know phonetically is lock yep yeah that's right uh it will give you a lock and now you get a re-launch and a retry yeah so could be another million right here yeah see if he's got it down Oh, a little nudge. There it is. Two for two. Wow. That is skillfully done. Yeah. And do you get to lock two balls or three balls? I believe it's two, and then it starts a three ball. I believe the third one you plunge. You plunge in? Yeah. I don't remember. It's been forever since I've done it. I know it holds two. Okay. All right. Well, you know you can nudge it a little bit. Also, did he open the gate? This is a gate, right? Yeah, so that... When it comes from the top side, or from the inlanes up top, it'll open just in case it goes out from the... It's going to go in the in lane, but it's a safety. So the light in front of that green light pit, I believe if you shoot the ramp at this point, it's going to be another skill shot. Okay. Okay. Well, he's going to get another one anyways. Yeah, he's going to get it from the lock, yes. Now, for multiball, does he automatically get multiball, or does he have to actually spell lock one more time? Oh, no, the civilian wasn't lit this time. That's true. Yeah. Yeah, that little gate opens automatically. Okay, so he does need to get the lock one more time. But I don't know that he has to get the lock. I think he just has to spell. There's only one lit. Yeah, there's only one letter lit up there. So I think he only has to roll through the one lit letter for it to go. Now that spinner is lit for 5,000 every time you roll through the in lane. Got it. It's points. Okay, now we're going to find out if there's locked steel. I don't believe there is locked steel. No, there is not. He's got to swallow all three letters. Oh, yeah, because it reset. There might be partial. Yes. Daniele still has to lock all three in. Wow. But if he releases them, Keith will have to relock them because there's no auto plunger on here. Okay, open the gate. And the gate's smart enough to close back up. Wow, nice. And this is a very, very tight spinner shot. Being a Gottlieb, it's earlier than you think it's going to be. I like that little hold up the flipper, slow it down a little and then take the shot because on the fly this was a very narrow shot dead bounce over go for the wall he did, I don't think he meant to what does the wall do? Things that no one goes for. Yeah, it's timed. That's a great question. There's targets in the back. They do something. They advance the guard or something. Well, now his gate is permanently open. So I think that that wall, it says something about the get the guard. So I believe that that opens the out lane. You're talking about opening the gate permanently? Yeah. So I believe that that was safety there. but you have to survive the vector-like targets that are standing in front of you. And these, yeah. Oh, almost three for three. It was close. Well, not three. This is his first shot. Yeah, sorry. I meant four for four. I meant on plunge one, obviously. Okay, well, there's a limit on the tilt. Yep, found tilt. Found the tilt. Not a big bonus game, so you're not giving up much by doing that. But did he need that hard of a shot there? That's the question. Yep. Yep. Yeah, so for you guys that did the skill shot, were you guys doing, like, one loop around? Were you trying to do multiple loops around? I saw one person not even doing any loops and was just trying to, like, straight plunge it directly into it. I like the one loop. I think that, like, a quarter plunge was consistent. I think Keith did the one loop when we were watching him, right? I don't remember now. It just happened earlier, too. Yeah, he went one around. I did not play it here. I did not play this game. But when I played it, I mean, sorry, this is the one from Chaparral Lanes. When it was at Chaparral Lanes, I would do the one loop. Okay. But it was way easier back pit. So it's an interesting part. When you have the ball on the left flipper on here, it is post-passable, but a lot of people you'll see go up through the pit, the center ramp, because it will feed back to the right flipper. So those are your two transfer ways. nice ladle that you drew right there yeah yeah ampersand yeah there you go we're all included i love this wow that was clean yeah swish yeah that was very impressive all right okay so here's his multiball three balls because yeah So he did need to hit one letter to release them, but that was it. So what's the goal in multiball? I think it's more spinner. Okay. The other question, any bonus multiplier on the playfield? He's at 4x right now. Oh, that's not an end of ball bonus? The playfield multiplier is like Swords of Furious or something like that, right? Got it. Okay, so this is just big points is what we're talking about. So spinner is still great, and you're right. Yeah. Yeah, and this multiball is much easier with two rather than three, as are most Scott Leaves, or just general. Nice tip over right there. And he's quickly up to 4.5 million. And he's going to get a plunge. Oh, another million possibility. That's interesting. The ball must have drained just before he got there, because that should have returned back to the field. One of those no grace period things. Okay. That's his first miss on that shot, and that's still okay. He's going to collect the ramp value as well, which was only 10,000, and I'm sure there's some way to increase that. inlanes, light spinner, yes. Yep. Very much so. And the spinner's just extra nice bonus points. It's 5,000 when lit, right? Yes. Yeah. And it's dropping through any end lane that will light it. It's a limited time. Okay. All right. Good ball. You can see how lucrative the multi-balls are. Yeah. And then what was the Johnny score in the last game? It was like 5-something? Yep, 5-3. Okay. Although 3 million of that score is from the skill shot. Yeah. And basically another, what, 2 million, 1.9? I'll still attribute it to the multiball for getting the locks and letting him do it again. That's true. You're right. You're right. You're right. More attempts. Yeah. It's just when you get the 25,000 one, you just got to watch it roll down there. And you're a little sad about it, just waiting for it to drop in the hole. Yeah, but what's worse, it's 25,000 only if lit. I don't think it's even less. Yeah, it's even less if it's not lit. I never thought about that. You're right. Yeah, that's true. spinner might spell cyclops yeah for whatever reason you would want to do that you can spell pit too i don't know what that does yeah yeah with with these i mean a lot of us play these games but once we realize the way you wanted to play right i just forgot all the other rules yeah that's all i don't know what the other parts of this game do because one thing. Which is the case in a lot of tournament play. It's not always playing the machine for all the features. It's playing the machine, a particular strategy that's known to score. And regardless of what you do for tournament play, it's proving that you could do it better than the other opponents. Yeah, I mean, there's skillful nudging up there. Yes, you have to have the right sort of plunge and strength, but You know, there's a lot that you can do to maneuver that ball on the top side. And you can move the letters up top, which is really key. Now, I didn't... All right. Down to two. Yeah, I thought he had all three letters lit, but I guess he was just down to that last one for the release. So we're in multiball. See how he plays this? not rushing to get the 5000 spinner when it's lit just taking your time at this point and he's he's dead on on that spinner that was the interesting return like it didn't go all the way up on the spinner and it came back to the left in lane yes not straight back down so there must be like a hidden tunnel. You see where the eye is in the middle right there? That loops to the left side when you hit it. Oh, Lazarus! For all the new pinball fans we just got, that's what we call a Lazarus. Comes back into play, totally legal, as long as you didn't help it come back up, we're good. Oh, here we go, replay. Here's the replay. Carl's on it. That's going to be fun, because one's going to go up and then another one's going to come out of nowhere and drop back up. Very nice. And he's got this spinner dial on lock. Is that a pun? Good job, Derek. This is a nice repeatable setup. When you can just hold one ball on one flipper, you just can't miss. What a nice little move right there. Had to drop the left flipper, and Allie passes it into the other one, and nearly maintained control on that flipper too. Nice tip over. Okay. Oh, nice. Great move. So, in his multiball, maybe a million or so. You know, the points... The points definitely come from the plunge. Well, speaking of that... Now the million is not lit. You don't actually want the million. You want the one beside it. See, he got the middle, but he only got $100,000. Oh, wow, that's good to know. Yeah, there's two different values depending on if it's lit or not for each different hole. So now it's lit. He's practicing for a ball three. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, a tough tilt there, but maybe, I mean, we saw Keith's ball only had $150,000 in bonus. It wasn't a lot. So. Especially with a million on the plunge, possibly. Yeah. Yeah, in a really tight match, how difficult would it be to be player one and just watch everyone else be able to plunge a win in front of you to take points? I mean, not in this particular case right now. Nodge over. Whoa. Another million. We need the 1918 call out every time someone makes that. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. this post pass will work. Ooh, nice sensitive sling there. Yeah. Going with the alley pass, which is fine. He's very confident in it. Makes it look easy. The big Gottlieb flippers tend to help a little bit on those alley passes You can kind of let it go a lot further down the flipper I feel Unfortunate I'm not sure why. It didn't look like when it went down the in lane that the spinner lit for him. You mean this in lane, right? Yeah. Huh. Yeah, I didn't. I mean, most of the time it has been. I don't know if it just ran so hard. Like maybe the trigger's a little bit low and it's not always triggering. but we'll take a look here. Yeah. Okay, it didn't come on. Maybe only if it comes up from this lock part. Maybe not on the plunge do you get it. Let's see now, right? There it is. So maybe just off the plunge you don't get the auto 5,000 light. A little late, a little early. There it is. And dead on. A little middle. perfect shot thanks for all the follows guys we really appreciate it for everyone that's new this is oh we almost had another one yeah and this is what is it this is Indus 2023 like one of the biggest tournaments yeah I forgot one of the biggest tournaments in North America so much pinball has been going on this is a tournament like four I lost track there's been classics one women's target match play and now this and in the background, open still going off. Oh, I thought it was another million. Yeah, it looked like it. I think he thought it was another million. No. All right, let's see how he decides to transfer over here. All right, post pass. Nice. A nice hard post pass works great. For the new folks, post pass is when you take it from the left flipper and bash it into the bottom of the sling. it comes back down with so much force that it jumps. It's like, dink, dink, that. I guess that spinner is not backhandable on here. Otherwise, not to get to the top. Okay, so you could probably go halfway. If you want just the spin, you can potentially do it, but not all the way to the top. Correct. Correct. Nice. You got the spinner. Oh, and he moved the lane just before. He knows it, too. Yeah. I think you were saying, like, the game did it. Like, that was when I was like, I clearly didn't mess with that. It's got that sorcerer target we talked about. Do you know who I am? Yeah. All right. Nice in lane. And that rollovers. There we go. Really crucial in these Gottliebs. In a lot of games, especially. It's so smooth on these Gottlieb flippers when it rolls over. Is that his second lock or first lock after his multiball? I think it's the first. I believe this was the second because he did another plunge in the middle of his ball earlier. And the ball is up on the left that you can see, so you know that there's one other one down there. He only has one letter lit now, right? Yes. That's how you know. And behind it, there's a flashing light that actually is telling him that it's ready for release. There we go. Oh, that was an interesting flip. That almost felt like the flipper didn't actuate. Wow, look at the points. Look at the 3X Playfield spinner. Watch if he hits the spinner. Just watch the score. He's got this little route going where two are going up the ramp and then coming back for a lot of shots from the right flipper. He's doing a really good job to not have the balls collide. The way that they're going, you know, knowing where each one of them is. All right. Nice move. Wow. What a save. Wow. And we've seen things that look exactly like that till earlier. Yeah. And just subtle enough. Subtle Keith. Good job. Just under 7 million. Yep. With probably like 10K in bonus. Yeah, I know, right? I don't even have the bonus. Hey, it's multiplied by 8, right? So it's 80K. Oh, yeah, yeah. Don't forget the 8X multiplier. The important part. Yeah. Yeah. So when that bounced off the top there, it must have triggered the right gate because it opened for a second when it was going in the in lane. Unless that just opens like every time it hits an in lane switch. So he actually wants this, right? Like the bottom one? Yeah, which is worth 175 if you hit it. You see the ramp value on the second line and the white inserts say warp ramp value. So he would have got the 175. Oh, I see. Yeah, they're alone on both sides. Yep. Yeah, every time you hit the in lane, that gate just opens just in case. Maybe it was because it's so close that they're afraid of it, like, doing a Grand Prix, like, going out the right-hand side or something. All right, here we go. Chack gets psyched. Oh, wow. It's in. It's good. It's in there, too. Yeah. Yeah. I want to see a lot of hype after every million. Wow. Now, ball-to-ball, number three, four? I lost track how many he's gotten. Yeah, I feel like I should have been counting. I think it's at least three. Or gifting a sub for every time that someone makes a million. All right. At least four, yeah. Okay. Actually, it was an interesting way to get the ball to the right flip where he shot the wall and there's an exit on the right-hand side of the wall. where bounce down. He's got the outlane lit too. That must be an extra ball lit. Not that you want to collect it. But typically on Gottlieb's extra balls and specials are usually half a million. So I would not be surprised if that was also half a million. Another just calm dig. Yeah. All right, gets a lock. And so... So the million is not lit right now. Right. So we can see the ramp collect value and the extra ball collect value. And this, yeah. And this is 270. It would have been nice to see if the extra ball collect value was that half million. Right. But, I mean, he's at 11 million right now. This is a first place for the day score already. He's even testing, like, tap passes and stuff. You know, he's confident. He's styling. Yeah, just in case he has to play it again. Right. I mean, that bonus X is now at 11. Although if he's got the picks, he wouldn't be allowed to pick it again. And who else would, if he deferred the pick, who else would pick this after seeing this? So this is probably his last game on this machine. Yeah. All right, so we're at another multiball. Five? Oh, also, this spinner does do a weird reject every once in a while where it's still slanted up or sideways. And so you have to be ready for it to spit back out towards you. Nice dig again. Okay. More lock letters. Yep. There we go. He's got the spinner pretty dialed in. Yeah, that time the spinner did not light on that shot either. So maybe the switch is just a little tricky. Not registering all the time. Yeah. Okay. Gets another shot at it. Wow, that's pretty cool. Yeah. That's pretty awesome. You should collect bonus if it goes back in that way. Right. I agree. He gets 65,000 for this one, so it seems like the ramp value resets every time you collect it. Nice move right there. That's tougher than it looks. A little tip over and then bail out on the left. Another locked ball. Ramp value zero on this one. Yeah. Yeah, this is really worth it, guys. We don't know what the red ones are in the second. So if anyone knows that. I think it's not 100 or 250. It's like written in the orbit of it. Special and extra ball. Special and extra ball. Okay, so we've been told that the red ones are special, these. Yep. And the circles are extra ball. You can see extra ball, right? And if I get a thumbs up, we'll assume that they're all worth half a million in this game. All right. Sounds reasonable. I didn't have it. Another lock. Just making it look easy. One more shot and got another multiball. Yep. All right. Let's see what's the score. Is Derek going to be right? It is. That clack. You got the Gottlieb clack. There you go. It was half a million, as you called it. Nice. Here we go. multiball. If he switches the lane properly. That's why I was like, please. Because this one, you can only go left to right with the letters. You cannot switch it right to left. It's like Sorcerer, right, where it only goes one direction. Same with Genesis and all of those. Yeah, that makes sense. Because Genesis is a godly, right? Yeah. I feel like he just locked three balls at the same time. Like, for anyone to say, they had to re-release them because he was so... Oh! The ramp lost control of... What? So the game didn't know to put the gate down. Yeah. Because he had two locks, so it was getting ready to release those. And he hit the pit, and it went into the pit. Wow. Just like the bonus pit. Oh, nice. All right. He's now at... Okay, so he was at 11 when he started that, and he's at 12.5, and then all of a sudden, like, massive. Yeah. So the multiball multiplier, the Gottlieb style, there was that little half spinner that you were talking about earlier that comes down. Really showing off here. There's no more multiplier lights to be lit. Now, what is multiplied with those multipliers? Is it only end of ball bonus, or is that play field? I believe that it was also the... Or is there particular shots? I believe we were told earlier it was also the multiball multiplier. That's why it went up so quickly. Okay. Which is like Genesis. So it's Genesis, not... Your multiball just doubles your play field multiplier. Yeah. I'm going to look up Keith's score in Arena during qualifying while this is going on. All right. I want to hear some more clacks. He wanted to as well. Top score in qualifying was 6.9. Keith had 6.8. Okay. That's the number two. He's getting his vengeance on that number two score. I think he... This time you do want the million. Oh. Getting a little bit more nudgy with that. Yeah. He's, I mean, he's found everything on this game. Wow. Okay. Oh, tilt. All right. Okay. He probably just lost half a million on that outlay. Yeah. Possibly. I don't know if it's only a 50,000 light or whatever, but I couldn't read it. But that's a great ball. Huge. Yeah, I know. I'm mentally clapping right now. I know. For sure. A hundred percent. All right, Daniele's stepping up. So if he just hits the 10x your score, he catches up. Yeah, there you go. If only that shot existed. Unlike, what, Carhop. Carhop, with ketchup. Whenever I'm losing Carhop, that's always my dream. My dream bailout. The cool flavor thing was that it was spelt like ketchup. Yeah, like the stuff you put on your fries. Yes, the flavor. Because Car Hop is a diner-themed game. Yes. Yep. All right. So, like, mentally, what are you guys doing here? Are you striving for just to catch up and get a point? I mean, for Daniele, he's putting distance, I think. Distance, take second place at this point. Right, yeah, for sure. if you get enough distance and suddenly first place is within reach, great. Yeah. But I do think it's like when you're ahead like that, you want to, you know, if the other player, you don't want to give a gimme to the other player and you're already ahead, any few extra points. And if the other player is catching up on you, then, you know, well, they're having a good ball. Yep. Yeah. Okay. This is a release. So this is his first multiball. And now for Eric, though, his goal right now is at 2.9 right now. Start by getting a point. Okay. Yeah, for those who don't know, it's 4-2-1-0 scoring. So you basically don't want to be last because you earn no points. And first gets a bonus point. And since Eric is already ahead of Richie at this point, yeah, it's a concern if he drains. But he's not trying to pull distance there. He doesn't want one point. No. He wants the two points from this. And, you know, going into game three, even if he doesn't catch Keith, if he can get second place in this, he's in really good shape going into that third game. And he had second place in the other game, too. That's why he would actually be the only player who can catch Keith. But since both players' top two move on, going in with four points, he'll take it. There you go. Another Lazarus. What a great game. Yeah, the bottom of Gottliebs are very flat and very bouncy. So you can get a lot of them at the right angle. Yeah, so he's going to grind this out, hope for another. Oh. A small flipper thing there, but. Okay, so even with a million points, it's not. I mean, Richie's going to have to do some other stuff. Yeah. Right? This is where Richie would love to get that skill shot. Right. Put him only a couple of points away from. Yeah. So this is huge. Because if Richie can get two points, then things are really close. Yeah. Ideally, he catches Daniele and you have an 8-2-2 scenario. Oh, what? He tilted the skill shot, unfortunately. What? They tried nudging. I was nudging into the million. Yeah, the million. I mean, honestly, with all the other points that are out there, the million's huge. And you feel really behind when you miss it. And especially where it was tough. That's how it goes. So the group will be 8-3-3-0. Keith is through. 8-4-2-0, I think. Oh, no. You're right. No, 8-3-3-0. Yeah. So everyone else has a chance. Richie needs to win a first. And Keith second. Yes. Anyone else in second will dash those dreams. So the other groups are done, I think. Yes. So on eight ball, it was Escher, then Jeff Teolis, then DJ, and Colin. So in that group, Jeff has six. Escher has five. Colin is two. DJ has one. Bow and Arrow, Johnny, another first. So he's got eight. Andrew Foster has got second with three. Neil Graff has also one. So they're both at three. And Derek has zero. Last group, Target Pool, Josh, sorry, Jack Tadman with the first, followed by Josh Sharpe and Joseph Lemire. Looks like we are going to Pool Sharks. Is that the game? He loves Bull Sharks. Yes, it is Bull Sharks. So now you need to explain 8-ball and 9-ball. Yeah, well, who gets to choose? Is this player one choosing? I would think it's... Really? Well, Keithar is already... Oh, you're right. He doesn't need to pick a game. I'm saying who chooses the game, 8-ball or 9-ball. Who chooses if you're playing 8-ball or 9-ball? It's the first player, right? Player one? Oh, player one always does. Yeah, I'm sorry. Yes, you're correct. and the general strat if you're going for points is nine right but it maybe if you think your competitors don't know the game well you might decide to switch it up and play eight wow that's that's the metagaming yeah that's um right and the key difference i i've not played it much but i have played it my understanding is key difference between eight and nine ball is eight ball you can hit your drops in any order nine ball it's very specific order i believe you have to drop them twice as well uh in in april i believe that um because you have to get maybe both the the stripes and solids um on april is there a carry over jackpot at the screen just said jackpots at 1.1 million is it carry over jackpot on this and can players like first one there gets it you can increase the jackpots by doing the ramps like when it comes around like the half ramps and whatever half bank shops or whatever they call in this game will increase it but i i do not know about carry from from player to player so you're saying it's like progressive or what do you mean yeah yeah progressive from players and you know it's like mousing around swords of fury when it's not on a special run when you don't have a special rom some of those games it's like you know first one collects it, it resets back to you. 500,000 and you're sad. Yeah. Oh, Taxi, I think, is another one. Yeah. Taxi does have the option, though, to set your settings to fixed. Right, you're right. And Taxi, and I think that this game's very similar. It's like, the jackpot doesn't grow that much. Taxi, like the pops will do it when you spell the top lanes, but it's always so minimal as to what the base is that it never gets out of hand. So a lot going on here. So Keith picked nine ball on this. So drops need to be hit in order to light. What do we light? multiball? Jackpot? What are we lighting? So by spelling hot shot on the left hand. Sorry, these drops. Let me highlight them better. These. So those act as your one through seven ball. And then the two ramps on your first multiball, both ramps will light for the eight and nine. Whatever one you take out first, I'm not sure if one disappears, but on your second multiball, there's a specific order as to which one will be lit for the eight, and then it's the opposite for the nine. You don't get that option for the second multiball. And what does getting to nine ball get you? So it'll be a hurry-up countdown starting at three million for the little trick shot left orbit right there. This one? Yep. And if you get all the way back in the scoop, you will collect it for whatever that hurry-up value is. It starts at three million, and it goes down pretty fast. So Daniele's already at the eight ball. Yes. And you can see both eight balls were lit for him. And now both nine balls. This is only for the first multiball. Okay, double danger. Yep. Pretty generous tilt. Yeah. That was a pretty big move. Yeah. And we'll get to the other jackpot as it's progressing. You see the right column with the three sharks. Those will light for different reasons. This one, right? Yes. So that's a set-up. Okay, there's the right orbit lit for three. Three million? Left orbit. Yep. Left. Post-pass works really well. And that's a countdown. I see it counting down there. So he got it for 1.8. Yep. So it's not three million as much. It starts at three million, counts down. The other jackpot, though, can be progressed. So he just spelled Q, which lit his second shark. So there's three sharks. The first shark is just hitting a ramp. That's sharky. The second one is spelling Q up top, and the third one is Hammerhead, which is the three little Qs on the right. This thing, right? Yes, and he has the bottom one lit, which is the tough one. You can basically not purposefully hit the bottom green target. It looks like you can. It's pretty hidden. The other two you can, and it's usually accidental. If he lights one more green target, he may go for it, but he's progressing so much through racks here. His bonus is actually going to be pretty significant too. And that's like, he got one already, right? Yes. And so that's a base of, I think it's 150,000. Times two. Times two, yep. So where's the multiplier? Is it Q? Q, yep. And so you see the eight ball is only lit on the left. Now the nine only on the right. And now it's perfect for the three million. Oh. There it is. Hits it on the fly for 2.8. That was quick. Yeah, great. That was executed about as cleanly as you can. He's just knocking, you know, like a pro pool player, knocking down those racks. Only one missed cue. Oh, Derek. You're the greatest. This is why Derek fights so much. So I see the bottom light showed three racks, one, two, three. Anything special once you carry over all three? I don't think about any, I believe it's just 150 base per each one, and I think that caps out at the fourth, fifth. you still can get your points at 3 million, but it counts out end the ball that end the ball bonus Yep and you can multiply it by the five So it can be significant the Q you going to get just by going up top Now we didn talk about the skill shot We do it on the next player We cover that So you see he spelled Q so he's got the shark there. Yep. And the shark. Yep. Nice move. Yep. Only two dangers. Yep. So he's going for the T on the left. And again, even though it says hot shot, these are actually representing the one through seven ball. Right. The scoop is always a mystery and it's random uh so this time it lit an extra ball which is really nothing uh it could do things like spot uh spot shot which will give you one of the next numbers uh it can do things like give you uh points but it's it's never significant it's usually like 250 000 or so would you know what the extra ball points are on this game i believe it's nothing i i have hit it um this works just like jackpot where you can move the the extra ball between your flippers move it left to right is it the outlanes or just the inlanes? all lanes so this is the we'll go over the skill shot now so as you plunge on the top right above the E there's a little part if you plunge it perfectly if it drops in there that will spot you three balls somewhere like around here? either of the two habit trail entrances are two balls so that was three and then if you over plunge it, you get spotted one ball. So the reason why people choose nine ball is by ball three, if you do it right, you're almost guaranteed one shot at a jackpot. Because you can spot the eight and nine ball to have the jackpot lit. And there's a little bit of skill. Let's say you're on the eight ball. You actually want to plunge the right habit trail because it'll feed to your right flipper and you'll be able to hit the three million shot immediately without having to survive the cue drops from the pops. so there is some skill to the game so this is like a must win for richie so he really needed to i guess does his rack carry over will we see it lit yes so you will have just a nine ball one shot and then the plunge will automatically give it to you no matter what one as i see so and this would be a case where the right habit rail would be perfect because if he gets it in there he's set up for the three million. Yeah. Because the skill shot isn't worth much. It's 100,000 if you over plunge. 200,000 if it's 100,000 per ball basically. And it's a zero point ball save. So everyone breathe easy. As long as you don't over plunge it and don't hit anything. You can do this as much as you want. This might trigger and it did not. So flashing score means you're safe. Alright. Yep. And this plunge the plunger is really strong. So it's a very very tight shot or strength basically. Okay. So it's a true skill shot. Yeah. All right. One more. Yep. That's okay. See, that was the bill jackpot. Oh yeah. So if you put it in, that's actually where the jackpot shot is. If you, once you like all three of the, of the, of the sharks. Oh, tough. Okay. So he'll be able to plunge into He'll again want the right little metal rails But Keith is playing with no pressure Yeah, he doesn't matter what happens He can finish anywhere He's moving into the next round But him not winning or getting second does impact Richie Correct So for the one time Richie is cheering for Keith But not too hard But not too hard, because Richie still has to... Enough to beat Daniele, but not much more than that. Or Eric, if Eric comes back. Keith, please. Very okay for me, please. He's going to let it drop. And this is a good thing to do. Left flipper up, so you can just kind of drop it in. A sling will trigger it. He's double-checking that the score is still flashing. There is a change in music, too, I believe, when you do hit something. That was 1,000. So if you over-plunge, you cannot let it go because it gives you one ball. Why did he fully plunge there? That was the tension in the plunger. It is so narrow. So you think that was just a missed skill shot, and he missed by just a little bit that it went flying. Yeah, and it's one of those that you can pull it the exact same way, and if it's just turned slightly, it plunges a little different. You know some of those plungers that if you hit a certain angle on the ball, will change it? This is one of them. I hope he's got the trick shot on. Yep, got the trick shot. It'll start counting down. Nice post pass. All right, there it is. Two million. Absolutely take it. There's only three main point grabbers in this game. We've talked about the two. He's getting close. Every time you spell Q, I believe, as well, there's a little Q stick with a million right in the middle. It's like this, right? Yeah, and so you can light that for a million. and you can actually double it by the hammerhead doubles that Q stick shot. So wait, he just got the extra ball, and it does look like it was like zero points. Yeah, nothing. But there's two giant yellow rubbers in front of the Q stick so that you can't have, like, you don't even go for it, even though it's a million or possibly two. See, it's live for a million right now. It is so tight of a shot. Didn't find the tilt, though. True. But, yeah, it's the game's yelling at you. It's like, go for millions, do this stuff, and just don't. Like, it's luring you in. It's like a poison apple. Like, don't do it. So let's see which plunge he decides to go here. Any plunge other than an accidental short plunge with a point will get him. There it is. That's what we talked about. Wait, what? Rejected by the screw. It got rejected. Wow. So executed perfectly but not rewarded. Yeah. he's got to feel like, okay, this is my day. It's like cursed. Skill shots have not been, like, his thing. He had the one on Arena, and then that happens. Unfortunately, this is a really, you know, he, like, lost motivation on that one. No, that was very, yeah. That literally, you know, the difference is he could have been over four or five million right now. He would be in a great spot in ball three to take said win. Yeah, any game you play pinball, you know, that big jackpot shot, rejects are part of the game. And when you feel like you've done everything you needed to and it doesn't score for you, it's like it takes a little bit out. But, unfortunately, that's part of competition. Everyone has been there at some point. Yep. It's a momentum killer for sure. Nice. Nice bump over to take it out at 1.9. and this becomes a rinse and repeat game but it's a good skillful game, gets the extra ball for no points, funsies so that eliminates Richie who's played great, I mean this field was incredible, Richie was already down the only way he had a chance with Keith finishing second with Richie finishing first, I'd like to see him get first just for you know yeah so so now it really is daniele versus eric oh and daniele didn't have had a really good first ball hasn't like really followed out uh that opens the door for eric because one three million shot he's right in the ballpark yep and that's all eric at this point knows the only score that matters is daniele's doesn't matter what richie does after him yep So if he does hit that bottom green target, he can go for the other jackpot. This one? Yep. Now, again, I don't think you can. You're not hitting it directly. Get the T. He needs a 3 million. He knows what score he needs. Yeah, but the other thing is the other one's on a timer, too. So if he accidentally hits it, you want to take it out first so you get that. Like that? Yeah. So this now, right? Yeah, is worth 2.1. Oh, yeah, it's right here. And you can. Okay, he's not. You're right. He's going for the $3 million. He knows all he needs. It's safer shot. He knows he needs a $3 million. And if he gets that, you know, it's game over for him. Yeah. But if he gets less than $3 million, he might have to still play a bit more. Yeah. 1.4. Not enough, but he's getting close. So you can see the sharks flashing. He can actually collect $750,000 now on that. On this by shooting it in here? And once that drops down, he can collect 500,000. That's 1 million. He hits that Q-stick shot that we talked about being so difficult. Nice job. So, yeah. So now the jackpot's not worth it, but that's how that rule system works. So his end of ball bonus now, you'd say, is about 300, right? Yeah. 2X times 2X. Yeah, I'd say 400-ish. Because every ball also is worth a certain amount. So it's a base value. So he's not quite there yet. Is he shooting for the... And that will not be enough. Yeah. It's not going to be $900,000. You could tell by Eric. He knew it wasn't enough. It was $600,000. It was really close. It was. If he had spelled Q one more time, that would have been... And he was trying because he was trying to go up. You could see when he was on the slipper, right? Yeah. He was trying for the top lane. Well, because the mystery can also give you $250. Oh, you're right. That's right. We talked about that. Let's see what it gives him. Yeah. Free ball, probably. Singapore ball. That's what I meant by it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just said it differently. Yeah. We got it. Oh, man. All right. That was rough. That was rough, but he got this far. Yeah, I know. But not easy to qualify in these tournaments and getting past the first round. For sure. The rough was not his skill or his play. That was just pinball being pinball. Yeah. That's pinball quote. Yeah. I have no idea what the prize money is in terms of that. But he gets something. Yeah. Everyone who qualifies gets something. Yeah. He made it to the top 16. So it's like the next level up, I believe. So a lot of whoppers. So, Jonathan, how are we doing on the other matches here? Yeah, so it looks like, let me refresh this page. Hopefully this loads. Oh, okay. We got a breakdown of the payouts. Okay, cool. They're all in progress. There's no scores in for the other games yet. Okay, well, let's go through the prizes. So the prize pool, Richie, this was a 9 to 16 round. will end with 185. So will Eric. Everyone who was knocked out last round got $93. Going through the win in this category will be 1668. Second place, 1200. Third place, 927. And fourth place, 649. If you get to the next round but don't move on, that's still 463. Which is what Keith and Daniele did. So they're guaranteed 463 at this time. More or less pays halfway to their, if they bought the all-in, it would be halfway to the all-in payout. Or most of high stakes if they only bought high stakes. Shout-outs to Carl Software for calculating it all in real time. As entries are put in, you can watch the pot and the payouts rise. It's really awesome. It's very exciting. All right. You said some other stuff was in progress? It's all in progress. Eight ball is done on group four. I see a tiebreaker. Yeah, there's a tiebreak between Josh Sharpe and Joseph Lemire. Moving on in that group is Jack Tattman. Congrats to Jack. And then Travis, he still played well. I'm sorry. Everything else is still in progress. Okay. But like we said, Johnny has eight points in his group, so I'm pretty sure he's moving on, right, mathematically speaking? Yes. because you only need to be top two, right? Yeah. In any round except for the finals, you are guaranteed to go through. In the 4-2-3. The 4-2-1-0 scoring, yes. If it's 3-2-1-0 scoring, that gets a little bit different. Yeah, the main difference, 3-2-1-0 versus 4-2-1-0, I believe it's just a slightly less number of tiebreakers. Yeah, mathematically speaking. That's correct. And I don't know who it was. It's like there's this really weird, I think if you did like a 69-71 scoring or something, you can reduce tiebreakers slightly more. Hilarious. Yeah. But then like the winner of game one gets this like crazy advantage probably at that point. I like the 4-2-1-0. I don't mind the 3-2-1-0 as long as you're playing four games. And then I feel like you're reducing the tiebreakers even more. You know, if everyone kind of finishes in the spot where their skill is and stuff like that, if you're consistently second and first. Northwest show, I used to have a bonus point where basically if you, like, double the person below you, you get the extra point, and it actually gave you anywhere between one and seven points for a match. Or the winner may only get six if they didn't get high enough beyond it. So it actually let a lot less bonus points, but there's no easy software to implement that scoring. So, you know, but in my mind, it's like having the software there. This year, Jermaine took over the Northwest Arcade Show, and he, you know, set up web recommendations. I was doing it all in spreadsheets. It's like you're taking over. It's like I always wish I had better software to run it. So he moved over to use the Match Play software. But I do want to say, yeah, talking about the software is, I don't know anyone who's looking at, who's been following standings, probably everyone who's on this. Amazing for Carl. Yeah, Drains, DTM. DTM, he's done all of the software, one of the best, most reliable software. There's so many tournaments around the nation, around the world that use the software. and all of the streaming. And what's interesting is the way he actually has them integrated because when they're showing who's first, second, third, and the points, that's all automated. That's his two systems, the streaming system and his software all integrated. Thank you, Carl, for all of the effort that's been put into this. I don't know if anyone who's not here may not see it. There's a lot of effort. Carl is like behind a workstation. I think he's got six monitors going on. Yeah, it's like a command station basically. It's like NASA or something. Yeah, and he's behind there often with about 30 do not disturb signs that if he's in that command center, he's dealing with something. But like the setup that he's put together here, he's the one that I believe has come out, came out like the portable setup. Yeah. Originally, they had all the cameras on every machine, which now they still do. You can't quite see it behind us, but, yeah, you can see the display. You can see the bottom of the display. Above Derek's head. Yeah. There you go. So in the main bank, every machine has a camera over it, so when you're participating, you can watch and see what others are doing. You can see the play field. So that's still, even though they've moved to the mobile rig for the broadcasting, he's kept that camera on top of every machine because, you know, it just makes the events so much more interesting. And I believe the schematics for that rig is openly available. I know he's posted it publicly on other forums and stuff like that. So if you're interested in doing that, all of his cameras and all of the setup. Yeah, how to assemble the rig, basically. Yeah, what parts to buy. It was five cameras, wireless router, and an umbrella to shield the glare. That was great, to shield the lights. I wish I had an umbrella today. Yeah, it was raining quite a bit. So we're going to supersonic from the looks of it. This is the tiebreaker, I'm guessing. Okay. Yep, here we go. All right. So what I know is this is really good on the plunge, right? You need it. Yeah. He went for full plunge, and it looks like, you know, it's probably something known that a full plunge often gets you the two. But, yeah, the thing is the two is the only one you can't get from the bottom targets. Ah, yeah. You have the – Three, four, five. And the one is the center. It's a danger shot, but you can at least aim for the other ones, And it's so important to, like, I believe the first, actually, it's been so long since I played this game. I don't think it's been since before the pandemic. But first one, what is it? It lights the spinner. Oh, no, the center lane. The center lane is the spinner and opens the gate. No, it's the gate. And then spelling one through five is the spinner. Okay, thanks. Yep. And then this is the bonus multiplier, though, right? Yes. But it's only for the ball. It doesn't carry over. Correct. but it's always available. Okay. So it's valuable. It can be, it's a spinner game, but bonus comes into play once you get long enough. If you see yourself with 20 or 30,000 bone, or does it max out? It might max out. 29. Maybe 30 or something. 29 mapping. Yeah. When you see yourself getting up to that, then it may be worth increasing your multiplier. Oh, it was. It's the second. So you only need to hit the two to light the spinner. You don't need to complete them. That's what I thought. Yeah. I thought that afterwards you had to do all of it to light it, but I guess you were correct. But it also opens the gate. So we know that. I think that's the big thing with the two. It's opening the gate and the spinner, even if you don't ever complete one to five. Yeah. Whoa. My memory is slowly coming back on this. Yeah, because I was saying, like, you can roll over the star in the center to get the two, but it's not the same as doing the gate up top. This is almost like sudden death. Yeah, it's like one ball game. Even though Joff is slightly ahead, that is such an achievable score. 16,000 in this game is not much. So what do you do when you're going to post transfer? You've got to get on the left flipper. Alley pass. The post transfer was not super reliable. Oh, there you go. See, that in itself now, he's ahead. So seeing how fast the balls are at this point, any kind of point, you take them. That was preemptive. He was out there with the oh no well before it was anywhere near there. And he saved it. Yep. That's when you know how the ball bounces. Yeah. He might have played one or two games of pinball. Yeah, that's what I heard. Yeah, you need a little bit of pop luck to put it into the scoop. The scoop, right? Yeah. For the multiplier. So it's not one that you tend to aim for directly. Actually, I thought you could. You can. I'm just saying you tend not to. Okay. These flippers are very strong. It's very rejecty. The big post in the way, especially if it's a thousand spinner. Oh, there we go. There's the best accidents. The game heard Derek. It did. Should have heard me earlier, but whatever. Take it down. So it's getting the rolling through the five and getting the pop on the right side is a nice way to. Oh, wonderful in lane. Yeah. He was going. It looked like he was going for the five X there or. Yeah. And now that it scales a little bit more than linear, maybe it's worth it. Yeah. Oh, no. Oh, no. He tilted. He did. That was that sound. And he gets to watch the bonus. That would have been five times. What? Three times. That would have been three X. So that was 60,000, right, at least, because the 20 star was lit? Yeah. 20 plus. Plus some more. Yeah. So at least 60. So the other thing about the Josh Sharpe full plunge, I believe he said this before, is that if he walks up to a machine and he's not quite sure, he just does the full plunge on ball one. Yep. See where it is. Because he's like, well, if you get what you need, then you're good. You can adjust. Because full plunge, you know, and you just adjust from there. And I think that's pretty decent advice, at least on classics. Wow. This is like a second life. Right. Yeah. It really, yeah. Because, oh, okay. Good. Ooh. Nice calmness. Yeah. Okay. What are we doing? Up top? Yeah. Okay. Yes. So the question is, has Joe played this machine yet? I suspect that Josh picked it. Yeah. And this is the importance of having that spinner lit because Oh! Looks like Josh is going to move on. But great attempt by Joe. that would have been tough if that tilted that decided it yeah i would be like yeah i mean be like all right was that the only tie break yeah that was the only time break right so we're gonna go to the top eight okay so i believe uh carl's gonna be waving this up so thank you all for tuning in and tune in for the top eight once again i'm jonathan thank you i'm derek price and i'm dave stewart see you and that's other people behind us you
