Today we're going to do the Cactus Canyon remake upgrade kit, the Lman Sheets edition that has the upgraded uh the saloon mech. There's a railroad crossing the lock uh light and then there's new code as well in the game. So, we're going to go ahead and do that. Um what I've done so far, I've removed the glass out of the game. So, you take the lock lock down bar off, remove the glass, set that aside. taken the balls out of the game. And then I've taken the trans light down. So, what you're going to want to do is now that the trans light is lowered, there's a clip over here that you're going to want to just remove. And we can go ahead and take the trans light completely away from the game. And then you're going to take the SD card that was supplied with the kit. Going to take the SD card. Let me go ahead and zoom in. So, now with the SD card, there's this is the main board. We're going to take the SD card with the with the yellow parts or the gold parts facing towards us. We're going to slide that into the top there. Make sure it goes down until it clicks. And now that it's in, we're going to go ahead and turn on the game. Software installer installed version will install automatically in 8 seconds. So, we're going to leave it alone and we're going to let this software install. Finishing. Do not turn off the game. We're going to leave it alone. There we go. Completely completed successfully. Remove installer card and reboot. So, I'm going to go ahead and turn off the game. And now that the game's off, I'm going to go ahead and take out that card. And that's it for the SD card. Okay, step two. We're going to remove this gate. This gate is no longer needed with the new addition. So, with this screwdriver, this is the quarter inch. We're going to remove this hex post. We can set that aside. And then with the 1132s, we're going to remove this nut down here. That should take the gate off. With this nut, this thing can also be removed. I don't think we're reusing that either. And then this gate comes out. Except for you see this switch is still connected. Now this is what's kind of crazy. We are going to cut these wires. We're going to cut them. So let's go ahead and cut one and two. So this is out. This is done. Now with those two wires in the kit come two wire nuts. So, this switch is no longer going to be used, but just to make sure that things aren't touching while it's in the cabinet, they suggest putting these wire nuts onto both wires. So, let's go ahead and do one wire nut on and two wire nuts. Now, later, these are going to go below the playfield and just be out of the way, never to be touched again. And that's it for step two. Step three, we're going to remove the two screws on the front ramp using the quarterinch nut driver. So that's this guy. That guy comes out. There's one and two. Gently lift out the left and right ball guides, but leave the four posts mounted in the playfield. All right. So, let's remove this guy. That guy comes out gently. So, you see this guy is actually under that part. So, we need to remember that when we put the other piece back in. Here we go. These come out. Okay. So, we have this assembly. We need to go this way. We need to go under the ramp. This whole part, this part needs to go under the ramp while the lock. There we go. See if we can feed that all the way through. There it goes. Perfect. So, this guy stays on that side of the ramp while this guy comes down to this side of the ramp. That's what we wanted. Pull the left opto assembly through and under the ramp. Place the left opto assembly in the position. You remove the left ball guy from. Okay. First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to take these wires coming out of this left assembly and I'm going to bend them up a little bit. There we go. So, now they're out of the way. This front part goes under that washer and the back part, here we go, is going to go right on that post. There it is. And that now that now is under there. So, this front part is under this front and then it's on that back post. So, what I'm going to try to do is I'm going to remove this screw right here. By removing that screw, that should move the cover out of the way. Okay, let's save that guy. I can just that I can move it enough that I can get to there's a screw directly behind it. All right. So, I've removed the screw from the side. Now, I'm going to use my 1132s. Right here, right in the back right, there's a nut that I'm going to unscrew. There we go. Try not to drop that nut.
There's more important things than a nut. Okay.
And then I'm going to mount the sign on the post and I'll use that same nut and then reattach the mountain. So, here's this. So, this guy goes on that post back here. Let's get that nut threaded back on. There we go. Let's position that. I want to make sure that's in a good spot, but I don't want to There's a switch beside it. I want to make sure I don't There we go. Let me make sure from the front. Yeah, that looks good. That looks good. Okay. So, this this part I had moved up and out of the way. Okay. So, I'm going to push that back and down. So, there we go. So, now it's back down. And I'm going to reattach with this screw on the side. There we go. All right. Next step is we're going to take the right ball guide assembly. And this gu is pretty easy. We just set them right down on top of it. Just like that. So, for the next step on the actual saloon mech assembly, we have to remove these two these two screws. And I'm going to use a regular screwdriver to do that. I apologize for not moving the camera, but pretty simple. Just use your imagination. Screwdriver removing two screws. And now that those two screws are out, this whole top part comes off. They said if there's any decals or anything else on the mech that you need to remove, go ahead and do it. Now, this whole mech goes on top here. And it said make sure that this front right corner goes under that other nut just like the other assembly. So, just like that. Just set it literally just set it on top.
Set it and forget it. And everything looks to line up pretty well. This is what's coming off the main mech. We need that to go under the center ramp. So, it's going over here. And that's going to plug into There we go. So, I don't know if you can see that, but that's the four pin connector off of the light. So, we're going to line those up. So they said all the extra just stick it under the center ramp. So let me do all that. Get it all out of the way. Then over here on the right side there's a little two pin connector. And we plug these together just like that. Those are done. And then it said any extra,
go ahead and just shove it down into this cavity. So if I can shove it all down there.
Perfect. Everything's lined up. Everything looks good. So what it's suggesting now before we move on is basically to make sure that everything is working. So, there's going to be a yellow cable here, which looks kind of funny, but basically, you're going to unplug. There's a yellow cable over here. It looks like it's J108. We're going to unplug that, and we're going to plug it into this. Actually, that's No, that's that's false. We're going to plug this this cable into the main board. Okay. And then the thing we unplugged, we're going to plug into the weird connector here. So basically we're using the same header pins for two different parts of this cable. And then also out of this big long run of cable, we're going to take the USB cord USB and it goes back here and it plugs right in. Okay, now that we've done that, we are going to power on the game. Okay, the game is powering on. So, what we want to see, we want to see these lights working and we want to see the lights on the mechs working is what it's saying. Power on the game. You should see lights on the mech as soon as the attract mode starts. Oh, that's right. I need to change the game type. I'm going to go into adjustment menu. I'm going to go to remake adjustments. Going to go to code. I'm going to turn it to update kit. And now that's what we should see. So, let me go into this. And then we're going to go to utilities. And then I'm going to do factory adjustments. Um, this will revert adjustments back to default, but it'll leave the high scores. Then I'm going to go to tests, and I'm going to go to USB saloon. The optos in the main lock lamp will not work that yet, but select open door. Confirm the door opens. Yep, the door just went up. I don't know if you can see that. And then we're going to go to close door and the CLS. Yeah, I see on the right. Yeah, the CS CLS switch is active. Go down the center column of the menu. Turn all of the lamps from off to one. Okay. One. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Do you see the lights turning on? And the flasher on the GR on the back of the PCB. So, let's turn that on. There goes that one and that one. They're all on. Manually spin the spinner and make sure it reads tests under switches. There it goes. Spin over here. There it goes. It's spinning. It's doing exactly what it's supposed to. Perfect. So, now that we know it works, we're going to power off the game and we're going to unplug this because we got to reroute it all. So, we're going to unplug the USB and we're going to unplug this and unplug this. Okay, now that we've pulled all this off, we need to actually install using the screws provided the actual saloon mech. So, on the front comes with an Allen key. On the front are two screws that you use the Allen key for. So, let's get this one started. Perfect. That one started. All right. This one I'm going to have to like kind of pinch the ramp and the opto to get all this to line up. Get that screw all the way down in there seated. There it is. So, we just got to get everything aligned. We'll go ahead and tighten this down. Tighten this side down. And we have two standoffs to install. Okay, this standoff is going to go between the USB cable and this post. Let's get that one started. And this standoff, it goes between there's a switch right here and then a bundle of wires. And so let's slide this down there. Get it all lined up. There we go. Just had to push it down a little bit. fully secured. So, installed the front two screws, installed a standoff between the USB and this metal post, and then installed this other standoff between the switch and this bundle of wires. And then now I take the roof that I took off. This slides back in from the front, they said, which is back holes line up just like so. We just use a normal screwdriver to screw these in. So, there's one. Get it started. Get the other one in. All right. And I think at that the mech is officially fully installed. As in screwed in, screwed down. All good. So, now I got to run the cables through the playfield. So this USB, this bunch of black cord, and this grounding wire all have to go down. So the opto cable will go through to plug into the main payload PCB, which is this part. So now we just got to thread everything through. This whole cable system needs to go forward. So it goes forward. Let me make sure it shows in the camera. So, it needs to go forward up to here and then it goes back down and then it goes down straight down between the ramp and there's a big old hole. Basically, I'm going to cut this. There's a there's a cable tie in the back here. Cut that one. So, let me start feeding them through. Let's just do one at a time. So, we'll do uh There we go. Push that down. Perfect. Go ahead and keep pushing this one in. Okay, there's one started. Keep feeding it. So, kind of pulling it in and out. Now, we're at the point where I need to feed this one through. There we go. So, now that that's started, same thing. Kind of up and down. Get both of these together. Keep feeding it through. All right, that's basically through. And now we need to do the green grounding cable. And then last but not least, the USB. Same thing. Kind of in and out, in and out. Slowly get it all fed in. There we go. So now once all those are done, it's basically saying you want to route these in the same manner as the previous cables were run. So it's all down. It's pushed down below the ramp, but I also know it needs to stay up. so that a ball won't get trapped on it. Basically saying take this cable tie, put it through the hole that was there before where the other one was. And uh I mean, yeah, there's plenty here to cable tie. You could cable tie another. We could make this really nice and neat if we want. Have all this go under as long as a ball can roll by, which I'm going to check real quick. up to the motor housing. There we go. Okay, I'm going to go ahead and put another zip tie. Can it show where it is? Uh, it's right here. So, it's kind of comes up. So, we want this wires to come up out of that into this other area. Here we go. Let's zip tie all these together. There we go. Nice and neat. And then we'll go ahead and clip off these zip ties. And I think at this point we uh got to lift the playfield. Remember, take the balls out first. Lift the playfield up. Well, glass out obviously, too. Down here is where everything came out. So, we have our um USB cable. And then we got these the yellow cable, which is power. This everything basically runs down except for this, which needs to plug in right there. Now, the instructions talk about removing this nut and then putting a metal post, like a wiring harness. My kit did not come with that. Now, remember, this is like one of the first kits, so I would assume they will. So, I'm just going to run this through these wires. And then I'm going to plug it in. What I'm looking for is SW 73. It's the only one open. And then now I'm just going to use some zip ties to make sure that we keep this wire kind of away from coils and whatnot. So, let me go ahead and zip tie this right here. And I'll go ahead and zip tie it. I don't know. I'll zip tie all these together so they're nice and kind of out of the way. Now, everything else is going to end up going to the backbox. So, we're just going to push this down in the corner for now. And let me lower the playfield down. Now that I have this in the kind of the service position, so it's forward up on its rails. I'm going to reach down here and I basically want to grab the USB cable. So, this thing is going to go straight up. And then this goes up and around and plugs back in. And then I'm gonna go ahead and clip it inside this clip right here. We'll kind of squiggle this down. And I'll also clip it. Let's clip it down here. Clip it inside this clip. Unplugging this just to get it around it. Okay. And then I got to unplug this thing again. And then yellow cable. Same thing. Bring it up through. And then this piece plugged in right there. Then the new cable plugs into the board. The same thing. I want to make sure that this is clipped in. So that's nice and out of the way. Okay. So those are routed up into the board. Now, there's a fite bead that it wants us to clip onto this. So, just make sure the wire is straight. There we go. So, now it's basically saying to use two cable ties to uh keep this from slipping. Tie right there. That way it can't go too close. And then another one above it. That'll keep that right there even during transport or anything like that. Basically, it's saying make sure there's slack here because worst case when you lower the playfield or you move the playfield around, if this pulls, you just don't want it to pull on this. So, we're going to make sure that there's slack here. So, worst case, it just pulls it down a little bit. We we don't want that to be super tight or anything like that. And then I think we're down to our last step, which is the green wire down there. Okay, so the last thing is the green cable. And the green cable is the ground. And that needs to be connected right here on this power block all the way down here. So they suggest undoing this top left screw. So this is with a quarter inch. Okay. And now that I have that, going to put it on. We're gonna thread it back in. And that should be it for the install. Let's put the game back together and give it a shot. And there we go. The kit is installed. You can see the light locks working. And um yeah, saloon mech everything. I did have a check switch 88 air. That was the opto in front of the saloon door. I just literally triggered it and then um and then everything everything's good. So, should be fun. [Music]
