It was my plane pulled out to my gate and I was like, let's go, man. So I got over there, got ready, talked to Cengiz. I was just having a fun moment, man. I'm here in China. I'm going to Singapore. I'm talking to my homie. I'm on the other side of the planet. I'm doing it, man. I'm flying around the world. So I get on my flight to Singapore. Singapore Airlines, top shelf. I had purchased, no, I didn't purchase any upgrades. I was in steerage again on this one. And just, yeah, phenomenal still. Like, great service, great entertainment. It was a three and a half hour flight to Singapore. Not even a big deal at all. We saw some cool storms coming in. Like, the sun was setting. And like, you see lightning in the distance. We're flying over Malaysia, coming into Singapore. And I'm like, this is so great. Like, I've always wanted to be in this part of the world. These are time zones I have never stepped foot in. The farthest west I have been was Japan. I'm going to be a part of the East. I have been as Budapest, Hungary. And so there's like this whole gap area that I've never been into. And like going to Hong Kong and especially Singapore, I was finally penetrating into that backside of the globe that I've never been to. It went up way high in the air, crossed the Bay of Singapore, and then goes up on top of a mountaintop on the other side, on the main city side. And it's a round trip ticket. So that was worth it. All right. Got my room up early the next morning, Air India to Delhi. This I was excited about. Now, India is an incredibly crazy place and I watch YouTube videos, Karl Rock, Bald and Bankrupt. These are guys that, one's from the UK, one's from New Zealand. They spend a lot of time in India or live there and they go around and they film just like what's going on that day. They go and get some street food and they kind of show you what it's like. Clint Pimpling, What's the point? Now, I had upgraded my fare, like 30 bucks, and I got premium economy on this flight. It was a 5 hour flight from Singapore to Delhi, left at 9am, got in at noon, right on time. I had a great experience on the airline. Plane was in great condition. All the stewardesses, the flight attendants, they were wearing these saris, kind of as their uniforms. It was just great to be like, alright, I'm freaking going to India, on Air India. This is what I wanted to do, flag carrier, let's go. I landed there and things are a little bit different. Things are definitely different in India. Took me a little bit to get to customs and immigration. Apparently there was a landing card that I didn't hear I needed, so I had to go and fill that out and get back in line. I did purchase the visa before I arrived, like I was supposed to, it was 80 bucks. I opted for the five year one, so I have five years of tourist activity in India that I can get, so I can go back and I won't have to pay a fee again. But got into the country without too much difficulty, found my way to the train, again, no checked baggage, so just my backpack um and I was only gonna be in Delhi for about 14 hours uh as my flight was leaving at 2.30am 2.40 it was when it was scheduled we'll get to when it actually left in a minute um so I get into Delhi I get into Delhi I take the airport train one stop just outside the Delhi airport one stop away is this area called Delhi Aero City and this is kind of a western area uh where it's just you know modern uh hotels and restaurants and things and it's really made to be a place Anyway, what the jackpot자가, the Ovaldriven pollinator, aall thoseудarehowever you oghtaces09 ntheg cemetery just some light known hotel brand a model is conynıant for me I also if you knowetwas intending the night theirindia I did getahotelroom part1 Call搞pelled at 4-8-7-15 and call bankruptcy мен Raj at 4-8-6 for an務.damtra hunters.tv Top 5 Top 2 Top 3 Top 2 Top 3 Top 5 Top 3 Top 3 Top 3 Top 3 Top 3 To get to the metro to get to taxis or whatever we're just it would not open and there wasn't really signs posted very well on the one that you can go to exit from so you know went the wrong way a couple of times military people were just ring me to the right exit eventually I found my way out jumped on the metro again and this was fun it was I don't know like 40 rupees or something now it's about a hundred rupees to a dollar 110 and prices for things Hi everyone! Hey guys! I am here at S졌 Phniejездi at Knapp Arcade in Rithmaluwdeh. I'm going to. I was, my plan was to go right into Old Delhi and see some tourist sites. So that's what I did. So I landed in Gandhi Airport, it's the main airport in New Delhi. New Delhi is kind of the newer, more urbanized suburban area. Old Delhi is like exactly what it sounds like, like the old ancient part of the town and that's where I was heading. So took the airport train into New Delhi station, transferred to a local metro, had to buy another ticket. Get this, 10 rupees is what I had to pay. Made my way over to this, there's this old fort there called the Red Fort. It's made out of red sandstone. It's from the 15th, 16th century when the Mughal rule was going on, like Ottoman Empire adjacent kind of stuff. It's very Moorish architecture. And so I was making my way over there, but just going down these passageways, going down the road, crossing the street and just seeing all kinds of street food being made like literally On the way back home, I went to a nearby I saw a guy who was sitting on a curb, basically in the gutter. He had a cinder block with a burner on it, a wok full of oil and he was hand rolling samosas and just throwing them in the oil and selling them off the street and it's like you know the ways, the things people come up with to get by, the ingenuity was what impressed me, like what a place, like I can't imagine what life is like there for these folks. But I'm glad I got to participate into it a little bit. I took pictures, you know, but I didn't want to, like, just be walking around like I'm doing poverty tourism, you know, but like, it was like, you know, like, like serious, like poverty, like serious slums. And I've been to terrible parts of Appalachia where, like, it's incredibly economically depressed. And those people are living absolutely large compared to these folks that I was seeing. But like, somehow, it all works and people get day to day. The smells came and went. There were areas that were like, obviously open sewage. 111 32 Dodabay Okay funktioniertärjarys renovation fare 11 C-Par пер headphones Gesależ disgravidäent có Panda So 不 A lot of people are working on this event, opening up a store on the street. They were probably worth $10, was probably overpriced but you know what, I was in the heart of the tourist area and this is how these folks make their meritorious signs I got my runway back to the train station, reverse trip back to the IBIS, got back to the room at 5 o'clock, and I was told by Customs when I came in, be sure you're, now the plan was, at midnight I was going to go to the airport, two and a half hours before my flight, I have plenty of time, but the Customs guy was like, make sure you're four hours early because the queues are going to be that long, you need to be at least a minimum four hours before your flight, which, like, I was hoping I'd have time to rest, you know? Subtitles by the Amara.org community Hi, I'm David David Van Es, Knapp Arcade. Knapp Arcade. and then I was full, I got to sleep for like two or three hours, get a shower, get everything packed up, and then I was off man, I was at the airport. I took a cab, and you know, I've learned watching YouTube that you gotta haggle with these people. The first price they give you is always going to be grossly overpriced, especially if you're a foreigner. And so you talk them down, and if it's too much, you walk away, and then their buddy will pick you up for that price, you know. So, So, I wanted to get a cab and I was willing to pay 100 rupees, right, to the airport, which is a dollar. And the cabbie's like, no, no, 200. And I'm like, you know what? Let's do it. So, when I walked out of the hotel, a taxi had just showed up and a guy got out and the taxi driver, of course, like, locked his eyes with me and he's like, do you want to go? And I'm like, Terminal 3. And he's like, 200 rupees. And I'm like, you know what? I'm not even going to hang out with this guy. He's just, he's perfectly here, right at the perfect time. And again, it's $2, right? Like, yes, take me to the damn airport. Knapp Arcade. Knapp Arcade. Knapp Arcade. I'm not sure what he's saying. It wasn't in English at all. And my Hindi basically doesn't exist. And for all I know, he could have been speaking Urdu, one of the other languages spoken there. But I was like, okay, fine, brother. Here's your 200 bucks. And then I get dropped off at night. Traffic is crazy. I go play Frogger again across five lanes of traffic. I get to the airport and it's like, I just had the India experience, man. So I get to the airport. Now, I wasn't able to get my boarding pass for my flight. David David Van Es, Knapp Arcade. I was a military man at the checkpoint and eventually I was able to show him like my Orbitz receipt for buying it and like my name is matched and everything. So eventually he let me in but like what a hurdle. I was like, God, it could be possible that this guy could just say no and wave me away or, you know, take me aside for more questioning and that could be an hours-long process and, you know, I'm in a different part of the world, man, where like stuff's happening. Speaking of stuff happening, I'd gotten an alert earlier that day that my flight had been rescheduled or rerouted. What had happened was, Pakistan, because of some ononsimon découv gears, So, my flight, as it turn Nat Peki aboard the Panasonic he can afford going to Video has been provided by the world's leading entertainment organization for streaming apps to make joints把它 riocar. So the route for us was going to skirt around the entirety of Pakistan the other direction over the sea and then it wasn't going to leave us enough fuel to be able to go the entire distance to Chicago. So what they had decided to do was fly to Vienna, Austria. So you get in this plane and it was an eight and a half hour plane flight to Vienna where we would stop to refuel for about an hour and a half Thank you for watching. I'm a little bit unfortunate, but what do you do, man? The point of this trip was to fly around the world. I could have rebooked and I could have got a flight to San Francisco, but it would have gone back the other direction. I wouldn't have crossed all the time zones and it wouldn't have served the purpose. I would have had to pay an extra fee and all that business. I was like, you know what? I'm in this, man. Let's go Air India. There I am at the departure hall. I showed up four hours early and I got right in. I mean, it took like 30 minutes for me to clear security and everything. So I was like, well, I have a lot of time now. That's great. Luckily, there was these cool lounge chairs that you can lay on. They're like, kind of like what you'd see on the beach or something, but they were like in the gates. And so I was able to crash on one of those for a couple hours and sleep, which was nice. And then it was time to board the plane. Plane ended up leaving at about 3.30 in the morning. And then of course it was a nine and a half hour slog, or eight hour slog to Vienna, Austria. and then we come cruising in and here I am just leaving deli with all of the deli-ness and then here we are landing with these beautiful green pastures and small little medieval towns with little church spires that are probably from the fifteen hundreds and I'm just like my god can I get out and just walk around Austria here for a little bit of course that was not allowed uh... and then uh... boom you know sure enough about an hour and a half later we took off again and then uh... yeah an uneventful nine hour flight to chicago The Mark Hopson I'll wait for the next episode! I still want to tour around the world. There's still so many places I want to go, and if I can do that, man, I really think I can go anywhere. I'm not going to go to Russia. Listen, I've taken road trips where I've driven 15, 16 hours in a day to get across country or something. And so, you know, to go into an airplane and sit down and have like an entertainment system, food and snacks, hanging out, put your compression socks on, get up, walk the plane, talk to you who's you ever you're sitting next to and just enjoy the fact that you're traveling and then you know, 15 hours is going to go by whether you're traveling or not and then you can be somewhere, you know, pretty phenomenal. You know, I could have flown to Japan and spent a couple of days and then flew to Hong Kong and broken it up.
