TL;DR

Theater of Magic building installation walkthrough covering positioning, cabling, and fastening techniques.

Summary

Stumblor provides a detailed installation guide for the Theater of Magic playfield building assembly, demonstrating how to position the center drake building, insert the theater building at an angle to avoid gear interference, route cabling, and secure the assembly with screws. The guide addresses common installation challenges including cable management, proper screw placement, and handling fragile roof sections.

Key Claims

  • The center drake building must be moved to lower position via service menu before inserting theater building

high confidence · Direct demonstration in installation guide; presenter shows the action being performed

  • Theater building must be inserted at an angle so the gear misses the center ramp

high confidence · Presenter explicitly states this requirement and demonstrates the angled insertion technique

  • The theater building's roof section is held with glue and is fragile; weight should not be applied during installation

high confidence · Presenter warns against applying pressure to top roof section and specifies it is glue-held

  • Multiple users have reported difficulties with building insertion and ramp screw installation

medium confidence · Presenter states 'some people seem to be having some queries' and 'some other people sort of had mentioned they were having troubles'

  • A magnetic screwdriver is recommended for screw placement on the ramp assembly

high confidence · Presenter demonstrates using a magnetic screwdriver and describes it as helpful for the otherwise difficult screw placement

Notable Quotes

  • “This is the part that some people seem to be having some queries about as to how easy it is to get the building over this section.”

Stumblor @ 0:05 — Establishes the purpose of the guide—addressing a known installation pain point

  • “You can see it's sort of moving into a more upright position.”

Stumblor @ 1:15 — Describes the self-correcting geometry as the building is pushed back into position

  • “Don't apply any pressure to this top roof section here. Um, that's held on with glue and that's probably fragile.”

Stumblor @ 2:00 — Critical safety instruction identifying a fragile component vulnerable to installer damage

  • “With a magnetic screwdriver. I've got quite a small magnetic screwdriver here.”

Stumblor @ 3:45 — Identifies a tool recommendation for addressing reported installation difficulty

Hey everyone. I'm just going to take you through um this segment of the theater installed. This is the part that some people seem to be having um some queries about as to how easy it is to get the building over this section. You can see that the original building's already been removed. I've already fed through um all of the cabling that I need. Um so the first thing we're going to do is move the center drake building into the lower position. That's done through the service menu. There it goes. Now we take the theater building uh insert it on the angle like this so that the gear misses that center ramp. Um, I can then take the opportunity to then plug in all of uh the cabling which is the plaque, the GI cable, GI sense cable, and then finally the power cable. And then as we're sort of pushing the theater building back, all this cabling can have its slack removed. Now, as we're pushing the building back, you can see it's sort of moving into a more upright position. Making sure I've I've left in this hex post that is one of the standoffs for the right ramp. I've left that in. Just need to make sure that the building goes in over the top of that. And then it's just a case of finding your way onto the back like that. And there it is. After that, we grab our two screws. Just one moment. I need to grab the screwdriver. And we've got our two screws here. The smaller one goes on the left hand side. add the longer one on the right hand side. Now, the building has a standoff at the bottom that should already have it in the right position to feed those screws in. Um, you can just pretty much do it by by feel. Pass the screw through. Always make sure that the building is sort of pulled up when these go in. Don't apply any pressure to this top roof section here. Um, that's held on with glue and that's probably fragile. So, don't ever sort of put any weight on that. Put in the second screw. There we go. Make sure it's sort of pushed up as that screw goes in. Don't overtighten the screws. As always, that's job done. Now, I'll just quickly demonstrate um this ramp too, which some other people sort of had mentioned they were having troubles with. Um so, that goes in like that. I won't put in this screw for the moment. I'll just put in this one, which is the one that people were sort of struggling with a bit. magnetic screwdriver. I've got quite a small magnetic screwdriver here. Pass it carefully through like that. Give it a push to the back so that it's so that the screw is in the correct position. And the other screws can be placed in on the other side. That's it. Pretty easy.
