TL;DR

WAP #55: Pokemon gameplay excitement, Spooky shipping delays, Instagram age debates, arcade nostalgia.

Summary

In episode 55 of We Are Pinball, hosts Don and Genghis discuss the newly released Pokemon gameplay video from Stern, analyzing its design, ramp layout similarities to Transformers, and overall excitement. They also cover shipping frustrations with Spooky's Evil Dead delayed arrival in Denmark via sea freight, contrast it with faster air freight options, and touch on social media generational divides after Genghis was told by visiting teenagers that older users on Instagram are "creeps." The episode includes nostalgia about 90s culture, arcade gaming, and discusses upcoming tournament coverage and Friday the 13th research.

We got chrome, we got lights, we got multi-ball nights, quarter stack heavy, chasing that high score life, from God leave to start, every flip we learn, we're dropping knowledge in your feed, you're waiting on us to be... Welcome back to another WAP episode, this is going to be phenomenal episode number 55, with Don and Genghis, your homies, from other bromies, the bromance that don't drop, don't stop till the pants drop, or something, I don't know, I got something I got, what's up Genghis? Bromance with a lot of romance, I'm doing great buddy, how about you? I wish we could use actual music for these intros without getting shut down.
0:33
Do you remember those days? They were so fun. Well, you know what we're going to need to do now is start our own classic rock band, record our own music, and then we can use it and screw the haters. Take that, Spotify. So 70s rock, 80s rock, or 90s rock? Ooh, good question. I got kind of a 90s vibe right now. I don't mind putting on some flannel. What was he called? Chocolate Starfish. What was he called, man? That's Limp Bizkit. That's 2000. Yeah, Limp Bizkit. Fucking up your town. That's 2000 new metal.
1:03
Which, yeah, I love that Limp Bizkit's having a moment again. Like, they're coming back. Fred's got long hair. He looks like an old dad, grandpa. It's just great. It's awesome. I miss, I actually miss those, you know, punk rock times. You know, you had friends that talk really slow, dude. Smoking that weed, dude. I miss those days, man. Those late 90s, early 2000s. I remember skateboarding in the parking lots, getting kicked out by cops, trying to listen to the early Marilyn Manson albums, which were just about unlistenable.
1:38
It was barely music. The skits were just bizarre, and my mind was being melted. Yeah, it was a good time, man. And then now, I'm listening through shows like Stranger Things. A lot of those 80s and 90s songs are coming back, and, like, my kid's listening to stuff that, like, I listened to back then, you know? And she's like, yeah, dude, this song slaps. I'm like, what the hell did you learn about Luther Vandross? What the hell is going on? Isn't it magical when you hear from your kid's room awesome music from the 80s,

  • 2:09
from the 90s, they're listening to that stuff? I'm like, we did something great, Tommy. We made it. It's whenever it shows up on a meme on TikTok, that's when, like, the kids are like, oh, yeah, this song's great. Like, she was playing Nirvana the other day. Like, she's playing Teen Spirit. It's like, yeah, dude, I was doing this in 1994 as well. Holy crap. Oh, those days. We were a school, man. We're 79ers, man. That's right. Straight up the 70s. What have you been doing? We recorded under two weeks ago.
    2:39
We're back already on episode 55. Isn't this too early, Donnie? I know. I've pretty much not been doing anything, just sitting at home. No, I'm kidding. I have way too many projects right now. I have a light at the end of the tunnel here, but to recap, moving out of a couple of houses right now, starting one or two new jobs, ending some other ones, building Beetlejuice in my spare time. It's a lot. How many percent of the build is completed? Let's see. Here's what I've done. I finished the wiring on the play field.
    3:12
So the play field just needs mechanisms and ramps, but the wiring is done. And then I built the cabinet, and the cabinet is fully wired. And so I just have to do the back box, and then it's ramps and mechanisms. So I might be 50%. Well, so on top, how much have you assembled on top of the game? Just ball guides right now. The ramps, the wire forms, and the mechanisms are next. But all the wiring for them are done.
    3:44
Yeah. I watched like the first five minutes of Joe Engelberth and his brother Jared playing Beetlejuice, brand new video. Oh, my God. That Worm Mac, the way it moves, it's just next gen. It's so smooth. It's so nice. And, you know, they had to smash the button to take the head down. That's a cool mode. I mean, the coding on this game already? Come on. Already.
    4:14
You know, and it's like the first 50 games have just been made, and, like, the code's already what you would expect for a fully fledged-out game, and there's still so much more to come. Yeah, man, it's so cool. Well, what I have been doing, I have – I also had a busy week. We had a lot of kids from Germany, Sweden, UK over here, so we did something big over here. And one of the days when we had, like – they're, like, they're teenagers. so one of the days we were having dinner all of like 100 200 kids oh i'm not allowed to say
    4:49
more young boys and young men and women when they're 17 18 so we're eating having some fun and we talk about instagram so i say hey i also have instagram and they just all of a sudden all of them stop eating like i'm like what's going on and they're like aren't you from the 1900s or something and i'm like uh yeah i am and one of the guys are like bro you're one of them old creeps on
    5:21
instagram i'm like what why i mean i created instagram in 2019 uploaded five pictures and in 2020 my picture number six i don't use it that much but sometimes you or other creators send me some links i watch that no if you're from the 1900s you're a creep you're an old creep get the fuck out of instagram and i'm like what the heck is this is this a universally thought and the girls they were like yeah old man creep go to jail go to jail they were like oh so i talked with my
    5:55
colleagues and they were like yeah man you're a creep if you're on instagram are you on instagram donnie do you feel like a creep what the heck yeah so the kids think you're like unc on instagram so So, I mean, I don't go on there and interact with other people or direct message people or anything. I think that's where the creep line is. I just, every now and then, like I got tons of cool photos, and I can't share everything on stinking Facebook. So I'll throw some stuff up on the Insta. I probably should do more of it since it's a more popular platform.
    6:25
I mean, their next question, one of their questions was, so what's next? Are you going to make a TikTok account and look at 12-year-old kids also? I'm like, no, I don't have TikTok. But universally, their thoughts, I mean, this is kids from UK, from Sweden, from Germany, here in Denmark. They were all, look, old guy. We abandoned. We left Facebook for old people. We were not in there.
    6:57
Just use Facebook for the old guys. But instead, that's just creepy as shit. Just leave it. If you're from the 1900s, if you're 100 years old, don't come into Instagram. Yeah, yeah. They're like, don't come into Instagram. Is that okay? I'm like, sure, sure, sure. I haven't uploaded anything I haven't done since 2020. Leave me alone. I'm like, yeah, all that. It's just so creepy. Oh, my God, Donnie. I was like, okay, I'm not going to use it anymore. Yeah, I mean, for me, like, I mean, I grew up with Facebook.
    7:27
You know, when it came out and we got access to it, it was like, you know, the social network. We left our MySpace. We abandoned that. I do remember that. Yeah, but the kids have definitely moved on from Facebook and do not use it at all. And for people in our demographic, it's like perfect. Like that's where we buy and sell games. It's where we talk about rumors and news and things. And, yeah, like I don't expect teens to be in there, of course. No. I mean, after that conversation, I was like, they're right. I mean, young kids, teens are not on Facebook.
    7:58
I mean, so we have all those old guys. We can use Facebook. I like Facebook. all the different pinball pages and everything groups it's cool that's how it's organized it's organized by groups and so you can follow certain groups and then when people post to that group it pops up but like instagram is much more like a doom scrolling thing i feel like you know where you just have to sit there stare at your phone just scroll scroll scroll until you finally come across something and then you know a hundred thousand people will like it and we don't really go you know we weren't raised to use the internet in a doom scrolling manner whereas these kids
    8:29
That's how they see it. So TikTok, Instagram, and the others, it works with them. But for our kind of content, like talking pinball, and I want to post a bunch of photos of a mod I just installed, it's hard to do that through an Instagram platform. Just a service note, if you're over 26 and you're using Instagram, you're a freaking creep. Okay, go to jail. Go to jail. Take it to OnlyFans. Yeah, what are you doing? Yeah, that's what I have been dealing with this week.
    9:01
It was a hard week, man. That's right. Yeah. So let's jump into pinball, Donnie. Yeah. Today, we're going to talk about different companies, but I have been doing some research. Uh-oh. Two things that are not allowed on a podcast. The first thing, politics. Oh. Yeah. Damn it. Everybody says, don't do politics, don't do religion. But when you and I touch politics, the response is, this is awesome. You talk, I mean, you go much more deeply into stuff.
    9:33
So our people likes it. But generally speaking, it's not allowed. So don't touch that. But the other thing on a podcast, never talk about tournaments. Oh, gosh. People will be turning off left and right. Yeah. But today, later on this show, I have been doing some research. so I'm going to talk about tournaments now I have watched tournaments so we're going to talk about that and we're going to end the show about a spooky theme
    10:04
I have been researching also that Friday the 13th I have watched the first four movies we'll talk about that also but before we do that let's go and talk about different companies because today Stern just dropped Pokemon limited edition gameplay video right tony was that was it limited or premium it was limited because it had the inside light what are they called expression lights expression lights yeah yeah yeah and george
    10:35
gomez he mentioned like he had been playing on the pro for some time and now he he should you know make warm up to the le and that magnet uh surprised him it was good so wow yeah so he talked about I watched that stream last night. Josh had an amazing game. And, yeah, what George was saying was that he was QCing the pros because the pros are on the line right now. And so he's, you know, this is the first run of this brand-new title, so the designers are always, like, right there QCing these first few or first hundred or so when they go in the box.
    11:07
And so he's sitting there, you know, playing them. And then, of course, the premium LE's got that magnet under the Meowth battle area. And I got to see some of that, too, with the live streaming of, like, kind of grabbing the ball. And it didn't necessarily grab it and throw it down the middle, but, like, it did add some fun little chaos that was there. Yeah, it didn't grab and stop the action, but it just pushed the ball around, which I love. It pulses. Yeah, it kind of pulses, kind of in the way that I imagine Guardians works, you know, where it just kind of, like, interacts with the ball without grabbing it and then throwing it.
    11:40
Also, one of your favorite games in your collection with the green guy, what's the game's called? Monster. Oh, yeah. I know. Monsters. What was it? Monsters. Monsters, yeah. Okay, there the magnet can be grabbed, but it can also throw it around when you just bash him. That's my favorite kind of magnet usage, and I want that on every game. Every game should have a magnet and a spinner at least. I like it here because the magnet's actually located underneath the play field,
    12:11
so there's not going to be an interface that needs to be adjusted. you're not going to have to worry about like wood chipping like we're seeing on some of the Walking Dead's are having that problem so yeah I dig that it just adds like a little bit of oh hey that was kind of cool and then you keep playing dude when you're talking about wood chipping on magnetized areas then you're a certified fucking pinballer now you're not an amateur anymore you're one of the guys I love it
    12:42
alright that's awesome you're one of the guys now yeah man oh man i love it so the gameplay video yes first of all i want to say the music oh my god that music just hypes me up i cannot get enough of it and that's just 50 percent on the enjoyment so i cannot wait the second thing i want to say did you did you see they're not catching the ball and aiming they're just they're just flipping on the air the ball
    13:15
comes they just flip flip and they just combo left ramp right ramp right ramp did you see i did those ramp entrances are great man yeah josh really had it wired too like every time the ball would come back to down a wire form delivering back to the flipper he was like right on it with the next shot so he was making it look really easy i don't know if i can accomplish that um But, yeah, it looks like it's definitely not, you know, Brick Fest the game. It looks real fun. And also, when you shoot the left ramp, I don't like those balls.
    13:47
What are they called when the ball turns around? Those are called toilet bowls. Toilet bowls or whirlwind on white water. No, no. Not whirlwind? No, nobody calls them whirlpools anymore. That's for Facebook. The Instagram term is toilet bowl. All right. Toilet bowls. When I saw it at the beginning, I was like, no, I don't like this. but it's not utilized that much at the beginning they went into a mode that use it but other than that it has a diverter so it just drops the ball out earlier which gives you more speed
    14:17
totally plus man who designed this game donnie yeah i was i was worried that every shot up there was going to be you know stuck in the bowl when i first saw the reveal you know um yeah exactly but no this is a lot better did you see the uh video that guy did where he overlaid the Transformers layout onto Pokemon, and it's pretty much a one-to-one. I mean, same designer, what do you want to say? I haven't seen it, but I imagine it. So Optimus Prime in the middle, that's the Meowth.
    14:50
Right, right. I'm not super familiar with Transformers, though I have played it a few times. But when this guy did the overlay of, like, the CAD drawing on Pokemon, it lined up one for one, and then the scoop is on the left on Transformers, so the lower part was mirror imaged, but it was essentially like exactly that. Oh, the pop-bombers are at the same area. Those lines are all when I'm thinking that, yeah. Yeah. Wow, man. One of the odds that Jack Danger would create a design layout that was exactly the same as George Gomez's Transformers.
    15:22
That's so strange. Luckily, George was there to take it over because he's already familiar with the layout. Hopefully, he's not mad at Jack for ripping them off. this if the lay if the layout is pretty similar i'm telling you i was there when transformers came out that was not a success not at all i'm sorry and here we are like what 15 years later or something talking about transformers and then we're gonna have another transformers game it's like yeah it is actually yeah it was in 11 yeah full circle good guess man it was in 11 so yeah
    15:57
Oh, my God, 15 years ago. Where has time gone, man? We're old. Don't use Instagram, you creep. We're old, Donnie. Are you from the 1900s? I know. Well, you know, any kind of adult that's reaching out to people on Instagram is probably a creep. So the people they come across are probably mostly creeps, even though it's probably not even most of the people that are on the program. Isn't it amazing that this was just universally between kids in different countries?
    16:30
They just united and they were like, please just leave us alone. Just leave us alone. Use Facebook. We have left Facebook. It was amazing. So in the 90s, I was talking to my kid about this. I was telling her about pagers. We didn't have constant contact with all of our friends. If we wanted to meet up with a friend later, we had to already have arranged that ahead of time, like the night before on a telephone and said, four o'clock out in front of Claire's, we're going to meet. And if you didn't do that, like, forget it. You weren't seeing your friend that day. So we would go to the mall where kids would hang out,
    17:02
and then you would just make friends with whoever you were running into. That way when you were hanging out, there was always someone to hang out with there. And I think what we're having now is like the mall is online. It's these apps like Instagram and such. But people have constant contact with their people. So I don't know that they have as large of a friends network as we used to have because we just went outside and whoever was there was who you were interacting with. Now it's I have my five friends like we're kind of siloed now, you know. I think it's sad, man.
    17:32
And they're playing online games with people they don't know. Right. But, you know, I can't say that I wouldn't be doing exactly the same thing, though. And when I would get home, I'd go turn on the TV, go into my bedroom and I'd be playing, you know, Zelda or something. And so I was locked in front of a screen for hours a day after school just like my kid is. It's just she has a phone that's got like every bit of information on it. And I had an NES that I had to blow on cartridges to get them to play. So while the technology is different, the behavior is the same.
    18:03
But I don't know, man. I mean when we were all from school, we were like six, seven, eight friends. Where do we go to? To Genghis' home or one of the other guys' home. and we left our school, what's it called, school bags? Yeah. Is it called that? Backpack. Yeah, backpacks in that friend's home. And then we took our BMX bicycles and we just traded in between each other and, you know, met with other guys from other school and played with fireworks,
    18:34
drank water from a hose from a home we didn't know about and did all of this fun stuff. And then when the streetlights came on, then we had to go home. I don't know how it was in the U.S. because we didn't have a phone or nothing. Right. Get home. Yeah, I was like a pre-teenager in Los Angeles, and so we would go into the sewer systems and water drainage channels. We'd find a hole in the fence, go onto the freeway, walk along the bushes and the shoulder, explore homeless camps. That's where the pornography was usually found.
    19:07
We'd tear pieces off on it and run home with it. And you fell down, your knee was bleeding, and you were like, put some dirt on it and just walk it off. Right? Not like today. Some of us were murdered, but it was all in good fun back then. It's so different, man. It's so different. Yeah. Oh, Donnie. Okay. Let's go back to pinball. What the heck are we doing? I was going to say, back then, we had to go out and find the creeps. Nowadays, the creeps just come to the kids' phones.
    19:37
They don't even have to work for it. I remember, so I grew up in an arcade. I was an arcade kid. Ask me about arcade games, I'm down, okay? I remember one of the times I'm playing arcade, I think it was Street Fighter II back in 1992. So this 45-year-old creep, he had this belt buckle on that was open with a lot of coins in there. I think he was the repair guy. So he come in, when he repaired, we knew at what time on Saturday,
    20:08
Saturdays so we knew we when he repaired these games He always put you know five extra credits when the lid was open right most times I playing my head is I so low I can just reach over the screen you know I looking And he just leaned over me with his fat stomach on my left shoulder, and he was breathing. And I'm like, dude, you're fucking creepy.
    20:38
Thank you for the four credits, but get the fuck out of here. One of them credits, boy Yeah, and it was dark Trust me, in the 90s We had Creed in those arcades Wow, man Those days, Donnie Man, I used to go to the liquor store At the corner when Liquor store? Yeah, they had a Mortal Kombat 2 machine in there And I remember going in with five bucks And begging the guy to exchange it for quarters for me And I would just sit there and play Mortal Kombat 2 Over and over again
    21:09
Oh my god in a liquor store. Don't you need to be 18 to go into... No, no. Oh, it's 21 to buy liquor in the U.S., right? Yeah, so a liquor store is what we in California would call a convenience store, a conbini, a bodega, a corner market, a party store. Every region has... You can buy chips and also it's not liquor only. Yeah, yeah. But in L.A., we called them... there was a liquor store because they sold liquor and that's what we called it. But yeah, they'd have video games in there And I spent a weekend in my town in high school just walking from, like, convenience store to convenience store to gas station just looking for arcade machines, trying to find Mortal Kombat 2s.
    21:49
So I knew where they all were in town because that was, like, my game. Did you play pinball also back then? Only when I could go to the Family Entertainment Center. That's where the pinball really was. You know, the little corner grocery stores might have one or two arcade machines. They didn't have pinball. But when I went to the miniature golf course, family fun center, bumper boats, batting cages, they would have the line of pinball machines. And that's where I could play some Twilight Zone and Indiana Jones and Fishtails and Whirlwind and Wipeout and all those. So talking about Stranger Things, if you go back to season three, they are going to this mall that's called Starcourt.
    22:27
Do you remember that? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Do you still have stuff like that in U.S.? Big malls like that with neon signs and everything? We do, but they're abandoned. Whoa! Just empty buildings? Yeah, like a lot of the old legacy, like big in the 80s and 90s malls are just kind of shuttered. Or they've been taken over by a couple of discount stores and things. The high-end malls tended to stick around, and some of the lower-end ones were filled with other tenants.
    22:57
There's a bit of a resurgence now, but most of the retail shopping is at strip malls. Oh, okay, okay. Because when I watched that, I'm like, they need to have – I thought they would update when they remaster or re-release Stranger Things. I hope they would update it with StarCard and, yeah, some more from newer seasons. Oh, the game, the game. Yeah, I managed to print a StarCard mall mod that goes in that back plastic on the right ramp.
    23:29
Yes. It's pretty cool. It's awesome. I did it with UV ink, so when the lights kick on, it glows. It's pretty sweet. Yeah, yeah. What we do here in Denmark, we have those malls still. And my bro, he's just pumping those places with amazing arcades. And they run fine. So, yeah, cannot wait to unbox the, what's it called, Pokemon. Yeah. And install it and see how it goes, man. Sweet, dude. Yeah, like in major cities, the big malls are still thriving, like Woodfield Mall in Illinois near Chicago.
    24:04
It's where Interium is at, the large indoor arcade that you pinball tournaments. Why don't you open an arcade in a mall like that? Because you don't make any money on pinball. You make money on food and beer, and they have bowling and booking parties and stuff, and I already don't have enough time as it is. I know. Yeah, I know, man. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And congrats with the new job. Oh, yeah. Thanks, buddy. Yeah, that's cool. That's cool. So do you have an ETA on your LE? That's next month, right?
    24:34
No, that should be this month. It should be in the next two weeks. Oh. Yeah, so it's coming quick. So who's going to get the first Pokemon, you or I? I'm going to fly my own, man. You may get it because they can put it directly onto a cargo plane and ship it to you. And the pros are being made like this week. Yeah. Now, if it was on a boat, I definitely would get it first. oh i'm gonna say something really bad about that boat trip in two seconds i just want to end everything with pokemon first sure so i just want to ask you the video gameplay video yeah some
    25:07
games when they get released we're hyped until we see the gameplay video and it's like yeah how do you feel after watching the official gameplay video yeah it looks good i'm trying not to spoil myself too much because i know i'm getting this game in a couple weeks and i'm gonna be a tpf probably playing it, so it's going to be spoiled anyway. But this game plays, the gameplay that I saw matched my expectations that I had for it. Yeah. Combo king, man. Yeah. Looks fun, right? Looks fun, yeah.
    25:38
Light, bright colors, good music, easy to shoot. Pikachu call-outs, man. They're so funny. Oh, Pika! It's so funny. And, like, when you get a high score, he's just like, Pika! That was awesome at the end. It's good. But you have to like, you know, the Japanese culture, manga, manga films and stuff like that. If you don't like that, this game is going to be so annoying. Yeah, exactly. But I like that kind of stuff.
    26:11
So it just, yeah, I love it, man. I love it. All right. So Pokemon, we're excited. Good. Next thing about shipping on a boat. Yes. What just entered, finally, after so long time, four months in a ship, Danish soil from a company you know? Did you get your galactic tank force finally? We finally got evil dead pinball machine in Denmark.
    26:43
Oh, no way. Donnie, this doesn't work, man. I hate being a soft distro. I hate it. I mean, our customers, they were like, what the heck? So in October, they were like, December, you will get it. And in December, you will get it January. And we asked, and you will get it February. We got told from our distro in Europe. So finally, it's in Denmark. Oh, my God. Where did the ship go initially?
    27:13
Because you're a sub-distro. It doesn't have to go to Germany. I mean, the ship has to. If I say where it goes and everybody knows who it is, so I don't want to mention no name, no distro, but we're just sub-distro. We're locked to that. We'll just call him RS Pinball. The thing is – Just to be anonymous. When you ship – he can buy on a container. I think it's – when he fills it up, he can buy 33. Okay. Yeah, 33 games.
    27:44
Or big container, he can buy 66. I don't know how many the main distro buys. I'm guessing 66. And it doesn't just sail direct to this European country. It stops different places. You have to take some containers out. I just don't like the idea of my $10,000 pinball machine just rotting in a cargo container in the middle of the Atlantic in the sun and heat. Believe me.
    28:15
when last week, when I think it was the Wizard or Arcade. No, it was a collector's edition JJP last week. Do you want it? Yes, sure. We're going to fly it home. Bam, it's in Denmark. Done. But we're not sub-distro for JJP. We're a main distro. So that's perfect, man. I love it. And the U.S. currency being weaker, come on, Donnie. that's awesome for us europe or european or people in australia and all that so but the
    28:51
upcoming spooky game if it's a great game i'm gonna talk with the guy i'm gonna talk with you with the guys we have to do something we have to fly it home yeah i'm just telling you if i was in europe i would just i would cough up the extra money and just pay a thousand bucks or whatever it is and just have it flown but we're locked because we are self-destroys but we're gonna do something else. This is BS. I don't like this. Yeah, that's not working. If it's a theme I like, we're just going to fly it home if it's a theme I like. I'm not sure yet. So Evil Dead
    29:23
went to customers now of yours? It just landed here. No, not yet. It's not out yet. Okay. I just want to know how well it's being received. Have you played it yet? No. Got to get to a show, man. We got to fly Jenga's over here. It just came now it's so bad this is so crazy this is we're getting this game now and the game that came out after is sold out already and the next upcoming game people are on the list already and we're
    29:55
getting this old game today what the heck donnie i don't want to give an air horn for this what the heck it doesn't feel just come on over you can play it over here yeah i'm just i'm just frustrated I love you guys. I love Spooky. I just, you know, I unboxed the Spooky's, what was it called? We flow that home direct, I think. What was it? Looney Tunes. Yeah. I unboxed it. I made a video, a couple of thousand views.
    30:27
I mean, look at the comments there. People are like, Retro Django, thank you, buddy. You just pushed me over the edge. I'm going to order it. You can see it. You can read it now. Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. people are ordering. I think it's a great game. I love four flippers. Is the next game with two flippers only? You don't know. You have played five, six games. You don't know. Oh, I know. Okay, okay. Don't spoil. Don't say anything.
    30:57
I like games like that where you have more things to do. It just caught me. I think I like fun games. Yeah. Yeah, so, yeah. So, yeah. I want an early game. I want to unbox it, and that's about it. That's pretty much where I'm at, yeah. So, that was my, not spooky shield, but my spooky frustration. Yeah, waiting sucks, man. Yeah. Waiting sucks? What the heck is up with Stern? Why are you waiting?
    31:27
Why haven't they? Is it two or three weeks ago they presented Pokemon? Usually, I get the game ASAP. Yeah, there was probably still some code that needed to be finalized or something. Approvements. Yeah. Or there may have been some kind of error in manufacturing that they still had to work out, some kind of problem that showed up last minute. Colin just mailed us, Donnie. What does Colin say? Colin's supporting us on Patreon. Thank you, buddy.
    31:59
He talks about dungeon crawler cards. More DPX. Starch reporting, Multimorphic, TPF updates, Pokemon updates, Pinball music videos, links, and more. Thank you, Colin, from Twippies. Love it. Yeah, a little shout out here. Thank you for the support, Colin. No new game from Multimorphic at TPF. I'm so sad about this. Well, did you get your, what was that game called?
    32:29
You still haven't played Portal? Oh, no, I'm still waiting on my portal. It hasn't shown up yet. Gosh darn it. I'm very confused about Multimorphic. I mean – Oh, are you? Are you? I just feel like they present stuff and do they build them? So they made this weird El Yankovic or what's it called? Yeah, weird Al. Yeah, yeah. Where are all those games? How many did they sell? Where are they?
    33:00
And then the game with the swords. What was that called? Princess Bride. Where are they? I've played a couple of them at some people's homes. I think they're mainly in homes. These don't live on location. Okay. Have you? Okay. So, I don't know. I'm confused about that company. So, that's. I've played every single multi-morphic game. Do you want to buy them all? I do, but not for the price that they're offering.
    33:32
I've seen on the secondary market they're pretty cheap yeah so the time will come Portal is too fun and weird of a license to ignore I love the call outs of the game there's a lot of plastics and things moving around Princess Bride is a film that I've watched since I was a kid man it was like a family favorite we'd always throw it on I have multiple VHS tapes with it like they keep landing the most amazing themed licenses for me and it's like It's like me and Jerry are like brothers that don't talk to each other, and it makes me sad.
    34:07
Theme is everything, man. Theme is everything. I know. So when I heard Dungeon Crawler Carl, I'm like, oh, this could be multi-morphic. It could be a painful title. That Dungeon Crawler, do you know what it is? Yes, dude. I've got the book. Oh, you have the book there. Oh. I haven't read it, but I have it. How thick is it? Turn it to the side. Let me see. Dude, that's like 500 pages. Would you like me to read you a passage? Yes. I put a hunk of the hobgoblin pus in each barrel, and I added the last of it to the top of the first barrel.
    34:38
I placed the detonator into the pus, sticking half out of it. I tried to make it look obvious, but not overly obvious. If the goblin chieftain had time to react, he'd hopefully spend his last moments digging the detonator out of his chunk of explosive, not realizing we had four more ready to go buried in each of the barrels. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my God. Goblin pus and explosives, man. Come on. Talking so much about barrels? Yeah. Oh. This game is from Barrels of Farth? I flipped randomly to that page, and it's about exploding barrels.
    35:10
So that's it. That's it. Confirmation. Yeah. That's cool. So two weeks ago on one of our Patreon shows. Shout out to Josh Cox. Thank you, buddy. Shout out to Anthony. Thank you, guys. For the high-level support. Love it. So on our show there, we talked about the upcoming game. Can we talk about it here? Which one? Wait, who are we talking about? I got lost.
    35:40
Chris. Oh, Mr. Christopher Turner. Is he bringing a new game to TPF? I would like to know for sure. And I don't know that we're going to get confirmation until I can sneak into the show floor early and find out for myself. Okay, can we talk about rumor or should we just leave it? I mean, the rumor is living out there. We didn't break it. Okay, okay, okay, okay. So the rumors out there that on TPF they will come up. Oh, okay. Did you drop something? Oh, yeah, my pen exploded. It's been bugging me.
    36:10
Okay. So the rumors out there that it's whitewater too, right, Donnie? Oh, yeah, I'm excited about this one, man. Me too, man, absolutely. So we did see Whitewater when it was at Deep Root's project thing back then, some years back. Yeah. And then Chris bought almost everything from Deep Root, and he sold some stuff to Melvin that's over at American Pinball now.
    36:45
Right, right. Right. so do you think that it's completely one-to-one deep root game or do you think that it has got this more magical touch update something something oh for sure it's gonna have the the chris turner magic you know with those those giant integrated boards on the bottom and the liftoff glass and everything um so hopefully he took the if he is doing it um hopefully he took the layout because the layout looked fun the mechanisms looked fun though the toilet bowl ramp looked cool um homage to the first one right
    37:20
like you could tell it's related but it's not just like a updated theme like it's a completely new layout but it's very heavily inspired from whitewater which makes sense because it's a damn sequel i uh yeah i'm excited about this whitewater is one of my favorite 90s games and designed by the same guy. What's his name? Dennis? What's his name? Dennis something, right? I'm not that big of a pinball nerd to have it like... His designs are not my favorite,
    37:52
so he's just, you know, he's not a Steve Ritchie for me. He's not a Pat Lawler for me. Dennis Nordman. Okay. Nordman, yeah. Nordman game, Nordman game, Nordman game. Okay, okay, get it. Nordman, yeah. I'm not a fan of his designs. Yeah, no, no. Some of them are cool, but yeah. I don't know. Whitewater's not even a – it's not like a licensed theme. It was just a rafting-themed game, and it was just so much fun because it's got the pop bumpers and the boulders. That's one of his cool designs, absolutely.
    38:23
It's got that roller coaster ramp. It's so fun. I love that. It's got a little Yeti diverter up there. Do you know who the Yeti is created after? No. The designer. Oh, no way. He's got that goofy face. Hopefully they redesign that. What's that page called? Internetpdb.org? The Internet Pinball Database, IPDB. Yeah, IPDB. Yeah. So if you actually press on Whitewater, it will say Dennis Nordman,
    38:55
and then you can actually see in there all his designs. if this page is like a gazillion years old. Let me see here. So he made Special Force Girl, Special Force, Party Animal, not a good game. Blackwater 100, not a good game. Elvira and the Potter Monsters, great game. Oh, that's one of my favorite games. That's a great game, yeah. Doctor Dude, not a great game.
    39:26
Party Zone is a horrible game from 91. People love that game. Whitewater, great game. Demolition Man, I like the Rams, but I think it's the music and the code. It's just multiple. I don't know. It's like six out of ten for me. Those games are so hit and miss. 95 Indianapolis 500
    39:57
racing game what a lame ass game and then 96 scared stiff the second Elvira game that's a cool game and then 10 years he does nothing and then he jumps over and makes a Stern game 2006 Pirates of the Caribbean not popular not expensive but I like it because I like the theme so have you played the Stern Pirates of the Caribbean Oh yeah Yeah A little ship That goes down there It's got a little Upper play field It's okay You know It probably The ship you can destroy Yeah It better than The Stern Indiana Jones I agree on that one So 2007 he made Wheel of Fortune
    40:39
Oh, God. Yeah. That's what I mean. So bad. So 2011, whoa, nearly big, juicy melons. This guy's all over the place. Yeah, and it says 2015, the whole one nearly big, juicy melons. I don't know. And then 2016, Rob Zombies Spook Show International Limited Edition. 50 Rob Zombies. This is a Dennis Nordman game? His name's on there?
    41:10
Did you know that? No. I don't think that's the case. IPDB says so. 2017, Lexi Lyspeed Escape from the Earth Multimorphic. This guy is all over the place. It's 2017, All-Star Basketball, Valley Dynamo. What the heck is that? Zombie League. Do you know that? Mm-mm. No. And then again, Stern, 2018, Primus.
    41:42
Okay. I guess, technically. And then he hits the jackpot. He goes back to the Elvira 2019 and make House of Horrors. That's a good game. That's a great game. I've owned two of them. I love that game. Yeah. So this guy, what did he do? So Elvira, three Elvira games, OK Pirate game. You forgot Galactic Tank Force. It's not written here. It stops at 2019. Oh, OK.
    42:12
Yeah, he did GTF also. Was that a big success? No. No, I'm sorry. So people, don't get upset when I say I'm not the biggest fan of this guy. I think his best game is something in between Elvira and the Party Monsters and Whitewater. That's just how I feel. I really like – I enjoy Whitewater, man. That's a fun game. So if – Why are they still making all of these medieval madnesses and they haven't done a thousand run of Whitewater?
    42:43
Donnie, I think – we're going to talk about that also. But I think they're clever enough to see the market. so which which bella williams games are expensive they are remaking those i mean i i i don't see the logics behind remaking funhouse why did they make a wheel of fortune pinball machine how did that i know it was a time when like you know they were they were barely hanging on as a company oh those days were horrible donnie those days we we wanted to buy
    43:20
bella williams games instead of stern games yeah i mean they were so hard to sell it was yeah those days they were horrible but those games the games that came out back then harley davidson striker extreme have you played it back in 2000 i think so striker extreme yeah Oh, Shark is shit. High Roller Casino. Austin Powers, no. Monopoly, no. NFL, no. Playboy, no. Roller Coaster Tycoon, no.
    43:50
Another Harley Davidson, no. Pinball Party. The Simpsons? Oh, my God. Trash. Terminator 3. Shoot here and here. It's not a good game, but the theme is just dream theme. I love it. And then all these games, they got an update. Their board system got an update or it got a modification because they ran with the White Star system back from the Sega times.
    44:24
And then in 2003, they modified it and then they released Lord of the Rings. Okay, yeah. Yes. So it got, you know, better music, better everything. After that, I think, I mean, then they came with Elvis, which is not a good game. Ripley, I think. Do you like Ripley's, believe it or not? Not really. I mean, I get that it's loaded with a bunch of mechs and weird shots and strange layout. It doesn't feel out of place next to Twilight Zone, but I don't play it and then want to go back and replay it.
    44:59
I remember when I started, the first three weeks, it was a layout that I liked. I felt home. I felt like, you know, Pat Lawler, but it gets old. Have you played Elvis 2004? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I've played everything. Yeah, actually, I have one at Interium. And I didn't think that was, like, a terrible game. Okay. I don't like it. I don't like the music. I don't like the 50s. Well. Grand Prix. Bah. Yeah, no, I don't care. The Sopranos, I don't know the theme, and I haven't played the game, so I don't know.
    45:33
Have you played Sopranos? Yeah, dude. Sopranos is fun. Is it good? Okay. Yeah, I wish that game would be. The NASCAR, the Brain, World Poker Tour. Someone remaster Sopranos. I think that would be fun. Okay. Yeah, Pirates, 2006. Dale Jr., 500 produced. No thanks. Family Guy? That's a nice one. I like it. I'd rather have Shrek. Yeah. And then something happened. 2007, Spider-Man. That was a hit.
    46:04
That was a Steve Ritchie game. That was awesome. 2007, Wheel of Fortune. What the heck? Good Morning America, one produced. 2008, they took the designer family guy and made Shrek. That was okay. Same year, 2008. I mean, horrible times. Indiana Jones, yeah. And finally, they made your favorite game, your first game, Batman. Yeah. Do you miss that? No.
    46:34
I played it plenty. It was a good starting point for me. I'm trying to see. Can I buy a Shrek? There's no Shreks on Marketplace. Come on. Everybody's – I just sold a Shrek. Everybody's getting rid of everything cheap. How come I can't find a Wheel of Fortune or a damn Shrek? Wait. A game that I got three times in trade-ins. CSI. Have you tried that? Yeah, CSI is fun. I like balls that lock into the eye sockets. Oh, those eye locks? They're cool. Come on. That's cool. I like the centrifuge in the lab area.
    47:05
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I wish the code was modern, and I wish the graphics weren't just completely just – it's like somebody cut out photos from a magazine and just stuck them on a play field. They also came with, in 2009 – oh, those times were horrible times. They came out with 24. Have you tried that? Yeah, 24 I don't care for. But CSI, I've seen it at TPF and other shows, and I'm like, I kind of want this. Did you watch the television show? It was very popular back then.
    47:35
It was, and no, I never did because I never got into those. And then Lord of the Rings came. And now we're at 2010s, so we got Iron Man. Iron Man was the jump that just lifted up Stern. I feel like it. There's no CSIs on Pinside Marketplace either. Where are all these games at? Not that many produced. They didn't sell many games back then. I like this idea of taking a show, though, that's currently popular and making a game out of it.
    48:09
That's why I'm excited for this Dungeon Crawler Carl. I don't know anything about the license, but I know it's current. And I like the idea of having a game made after a current property. It's not something that's been proven. When you said current, so update me on this. Is it a brand-new book or is it a TV show or what do you mean by current? Well, with how popular it is, I'm sure it's going to end up as either a TV show on Netflix or there will be a film probably. Okay, it's a newly written book.
    48:41
When I walked into the bookstore, which try to find one of those now, there was a big display of like the first book. and I picked it up and then I went and ordered it on Amazon for half price. I'm looking at the copyright page. 2024, it looks like when it was first done, and then 2025 was this one. It's in its third printing. So, like, it's not Star Wars. It's not Lord of the Rings. It's not, you know, something from the 1900s, like, ancient creeper Instagram person. Like, it's something current. Now, I don't know if it's a great theme at all. I haven't read the book yet. I'm going to read it on the plane tomorrow.
    49:12
But there were so many games that were made out of current movies that the movies ended up being terrible or not culturally relevant at all. But the games were awesome. Okay. You know, Waterworld is super fun. Baywatch is super stupid fun to play. Last Action Hero is stupid fun. We got these, you know, movies didn't perform great. The Shadow. Like, people don't even know that's even a film. Like, they came and went and left no mark. but the game is amazing so what if they could take these you know modern properties take a chance on
    49:46
it make a good game and then that can live in infamy forever is like yeah the book sucked or whatever it fizzled out but damn that game was good but donnie so i presume this is something like in the world of lord of the rings dash dungeons and dragons right with orcs and stuff like that right but more with like humor like a satire take on it or oh is it like monty python like well let's not get nice and stuff like that is it that um it's uh there's a lot of humor that's
    50:18
packed in there i mean i just read about like or some kind of hobgoblins puss buckets exploding so and barrels and barrels and barrels but the thing is i'm not nervous about this first of all carl He can design a game. I mean, look at his Winchester game. Cool. I trust in Barrows of Fun. They show the game. They're building the game. They're shipping the game. That's cool. And I think if David Van Ness, I mean, their next game is rumored to be The NeverEnding Story. But after that, if they release this game just the way they did with
    50:50
Winchester, 500 Limited, jam-packed, coral design, I think it will sell out. If they made $1,000, the story will be different. But $500, don't you think they will do good? It's probably the kind of thing where if they released $500, they may sell $500. If they released $1,000, they might sell $350. You know what I mean? Because part of it may be the Winchester hype. Oh, I missed out on Winchester. It's trading for large amounts of money.
    51:22
I don't want that to happen again. Oh, my God, there's only 500 Carls. Let me rush over and get an order in. But if it's like we're making $1,000, it's like, well, now I can wait and I can play the game first. There's no urgency. And then by the time the game is shipping, something else has come out, and then the FOMO has moved on. So for something like this, if you want to sell $500, then limit it to $500. If you want to sell $300, then do $1,000. But in this niche hobby, what you're saying there, the hype is very important, and the hype is alive.
    51:54
Look, look, spooky pinball. You're a part of it, okay? Spooky Pinball. They released the Looney Tunes Dash, that horror theme. What was it called? Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Yes. Both great games, but they didn't sell out. Fine. Right. Then Scooby-Doo. Was that before or after? That was before. Scooby. What came after? Oh, Evil Dead. Yeah.
    52:25
Yeah. That didn't sell out. But like two, three months later, it sold out, and then the value began to come up, $14,000, $15,000, $18,000. And us in this niche hobby, we were like, oh, my God. There was a company that makes a game for under $10K, and now it's in demand. It's popular. With that mindset, they didn't release the next game. Like three weeks before release, the game was sold out.
    52:55
Nobody sold the game. You saw the game. I saw the game. But it was sold out. Yeah. So the hype with the Carves-Winchester game, the hype is up there. So if they make 500 of this dungeon crawler thing, I think it will sell out. Absolutely. Because of the hype. We remember. Yeah. Something like this. Yeah, it definitely would. Definitely would. Yeah. Do you think men in our age and women in our age would be interested in buying 1,000 NeverEnding Stories for 11.6?
    53:30
If they sold 1,000 Labyrinths, then I would say yeah. Did they sell 1,000 Labyrinths? No. It's still available new in box from dealers. Okay. Are you sure? Yeah, yeah. I just got an email from Pinball Star the other day. He still has some. 10-6. Go ahead and buy a new one, Bucks. Does Jeff have them? I don't know if they've got any in stock, but I think they – Does Jeff have any dunes left? Good question.
    54:01
I can text him. Do you want a dune? That game just rose in popularity like crazy after Winchester, right? Right, right. I think people got a lot of attention on Barrels of Fun through Winchester. Winchester was sold out, and it was like, what else do they have? Maybe I'll take a chance in this Dune game. Dune has really redeemed itself a lot from launch. Don't sleep on Dune. I mean, I remember when the game came out, I was fighting other content creators
    54:31
because I was one of the very few ones out there that was like, this theme is awesome. I grew up with Dune, Frank Herbert's book, and Dune from 1984, and the new. and most content creators were like, what's Dune? I'm like, no, come on, man. I think it's a wonderful theme for pinball. But it irritated me. It irritated me that it has this licensor pending approval on the screen and the music was not ready at the game launch.
    55:04
And on top of that, it came out with what? What was the J.J.P. game? Harry Potter. Harry Potter, yeah. Yeah, and they released it together with the Alewing game. Yeah, King Kong, yeah. Oh, that's not good. So I think they wanted to get out ahead of all that because they saw it coming, and that's probably why they ended up showing the game maybe before it had its best face on it. Oh, okay. I mean, it was little things like the eject sound from the scoop was the same sound effect as Mario jumping. Doink. It was so weird. I'm like, what is this game? It's brown. There's blue lights in it.
    55:35
The worm looks like a soup can. I don't know what's going on. Yeah, you weren't at the factory. You visited them, right? Yeah, I couldn't wait. I don't know. And then I didn't get a ton of time to play it, too, so we kind of walked away with like, all right, what's next? And then I was at the Kong release the next day. I just left Pentastic, so it was a lot all at once. But now it's a fantastic game. I wish it was a 10K game, not 11.6, but, yeah, I can dream. It's okay.
    56:05
Well, give it some time. It's a great game, absolutely. And the theme, come on, guys, wake up. It's Dune. It's awesome theme. Come on, just wake up. It is a pretty looking game. I like the graphics on the side with, like, not radcals, but radcals. And then the lighting that's in there is cool. I don't like the sand grit in the powder coat. I'm a huge fan of the light show of that game, really magical light show. There's no Dunes for Sale on Pinside Marketplace.
    56:37
What is happening? Wow. Can you press unwanted? Maybe there are some wanted ads on Dune. Yeah, that's weird. Oh, it's so cool. None of them are for sale. Well, I figure like even a distributor would still have them on here. Yeah. We should hit up Jeff at Mad Pinball. I'll fire off a text. He's usually pretty on it. Yeah, man. Did we recommend people to buy from Mad Pinball on this show? Info at madpinball.com. Use code WAP. Get a T-shirt. I'm sending a t-shirt out today to a lucky winner.
    57:10
Bought their Harry Potter, used that code, and is getting a bag of stuff from us. I'm sending him two shirts because I'm awesome. Also because I made him wait a little bit. We need to say, when you use the code WAP and you buy from Matt Pinball, you will get awesome t-shirts and some fun tidbits and our gratitude. The thing is, Don is moving, so some of the t-shirts and his stuff got just – It was all over the place, so we're a bit delayed. Right, Donnie? We are restocked right now.
    57:40
I can print you a WAP shirt today. Today, if you want one, email me. DonSpinballPodcast at gmail.com. We are pinball69 at gmail.com. Tell me you want a shirt. I'll tell you where to send the cash. $25, we'll ship it out to you. Boom, I'm ready to print them. I got them right now. I got your size, homie. We can do it today. And trust me, when we see you guys wearing those T-shirts, I mean, come on, Donnie. It's worth it, right? It's just magical. And we get video from Anthony Marua, like pinball positivity and WAP sticker on his car and everything.
    58:15
Just, it's just warms the old heart, man. I love it. Have you seen some wanted ads in there? No, no. But maybe I'm not, I'm looking at mods for them right now. While you're looking, I was at 24 and Lord of the Rings in 2009, and then Iron Man 2010. Stern did something good there, man. Then Big Buck Hunter. Is this Spookaloog's favorite game, Big Buck Hunter? I still want one of these, man.
    58:45
I still want one of these. All right. Again, 2010, James Cameron's Avatar. Have you played Stern Avatar? Yes. Yeah, it's not bad. With that robot and blah, blah, blah? It's okay? Here's a Pokemon new in box, limited edition for $12,999, but you have to buy three other games. And you can buy a Jaws 50th, a Jurassic Park Premium, and a John Wick Premium for MSRP and get your Pokemon. I think that's not a bad way to go. Jaws 50th is trading.
    59:16
I would just buy three Jaws 50ths and this Pokemon LE. What bistro has that at there? This is Game Room, guys, Jupiter, Florida. Wait, let me see. Oh, you need to buy three games at MSRP? and then get the LE for $1,000 off from MSRP. Wild About Pins is the pinball dudes. That's who it is. Jupiter, Florida. So you can get an MSRP Pokemon Limited Edition right now. You just have to buy three other games and they're all at MSRP. Don't buy the Star Wars Limited Edition Fall of the Empire. No, don't do that.
    59:48
But Jaws 50th, he's got it listed here, $96.99. I would buy three. I would buy three of those premiums and buy this Pokemon and then sell off some of the 50th's because you could probably get close to that for them. And then that's a hell of a lot better than paying $20,000. Don't buy the Mandalorian premium. Metallica premium, I would do that. You're a bit way off there because Pokemon doesn't cost $20,000 anymore.
    60:18
Check it out. Oh, let me look. It has dropped. Look at it. You will get shocked. Oh, okay, wait. I saw $9,000 OBO. That's for a spot. That's for a spot, yeah. All right, there's nine ads for it. $32,000, $17,999. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. Pre-order spot for $5,000. That's $18,000. $18,900. So it's not $24,000. It not anymore It sub Yeah it looks like it around right now Yeah yeah So yeah it going down that way man If it settles around there I think that totally fine
    60:57
I think it will be like, do you remember in 2021, Godzilla Ellie, it settled around 15 to 16, 17. I think it will stagnate there. I love doing this live, man. Let me just. Oops. I set my phone on the soundboard. Let's check some prices live. While you're checking, I'm going to go into a stern page here. And 2011, Disney's Tron Legacy.
    61:30
90% of the people are saying remake Tron. Are you one of those 90% of the people that wants a Tron remake? I don't want it, but I want them to do it. I don't want it either. Godzilla Limited Edition, $14,500. 14.5. New in box for 15.8 or best offer. New in box? New in box. Is that a – oh, don't get me wrong, but is that a distro where I found it? Oh, we have one more. New in box. That doesn't look like a distributor.
    62:01
I love those distro ads. Oh, look what I found. Single owner game, purchase new in box, find a photo of the box coming soon. Okay. Well, all right. What else are we checking? it was just pokemon prices they're going down so oh another game i bought limited edition in 2011 rolling stones le oh my god don't buy it that was crap and i i bought transformers pro in 2011 game
    62:33
also that was one of the hardest game for me to sell man oh my goodness and then we got acdc That was something happened around that era. Stern just redeemed their self because when ACDC came out, it was amazing. That game started selling like crazy. And then they remade Tron, second edition, third edition. I actually had all the three editions. The third edition, Spec Box Translight was awesome.
    63:06
And then they made Avengers. Did you play Avengers, the Hulk edition? Yeah, it's all right. With the bashing arms. It's just so much from that era, you know. Yeah, yeah, it is, it is. And then something cool came out. Transformers The Pin in 2012. I've never played that. It's okay. Was that the first home pin? Yeah, in 2012, those Transformers.
    63:37
Not something to write about, but yeah. So they jumped into ACDC, let there be rock, limited edition, ACDC Premium, ACDC Back in Black. That was 2012. It was awesome, man. And then we got X-Men, the Magneto edition, the Wolverine edition, and the Pro. It was cool with the different editions, not the biggest selling game. And then 2013, they made another Tron game, the fourth edition.
    64:08
I didn't buy that one. Have you seen the different editions of Tron? No, not really. So, produce 200. That's pretty limited. Man, this Transformers pin looks pretty simple. Look at the legs, how they look. Yeah, I don't like that. Oh, God, what did they do? Yeah, yeah. So, you know what brand new Stern game we're probably going to see at Expo? Will be the Pokemon Home Edition. Because that's probably when it's going to be going into Costco's.
    64:40
And I bet you it's going to debut at Expo in October. I'm really looking forward to it. I mean, for me, Home Edition, they're just kids' games. But with Pokemon, I'm looking forward to it. I hope they came out with an interesting layout and didn't just copy the same, like, heavy metal or Star Wars Home Edition layout that we've seen. I hope they come up with something new. I don't know if it's out officially, but they're not using those old designs again.
    65:11
Oh, good. And you know what? One of the guys just hit me up, and he's like, Cengiz, almost, this is almost, almost no matter how they design the home edition, it will be more advanced than the normal edition, the normal five shots. I was like, no, come on. Here's a Supreme new in box, $49,250 or best offer. I mean, Supreme is so dead.
    65:42
Who cares? Right, Donnie? I still want one. Seriously? Yeah. Yeah, for like $6,000, I want one. Yeah. Do you know what Stern should do? So Stern should do the 60s edition James Bond with a normal LCD display as a pro's price. That's what they should do. You know, you just wait. It's just about a pro's price right now. For the $22,000 model?
    66:13
Yeah, the Bond 60. Have you looked at it lately? I peek at it every now and then. I don't want to pay 22Ks for it, but I want to have the game. Yeah, it's a fun game. It's kind of like a classic cool game. $11,500. Dude. There's two of them for sale for that. Yeah. Oh, man. What a loss. $22,000, Donnie. And it's probably heading down. This game, I don't think it shipped with a shaker motor even, and it was like $20,000. Do you know if the topper was included for $22,000?
    66:46
The topper was included, and it was supposed to be. That was the only way you were going to get one. However, they then started selling them to anybody, and then they're like, crap, we promised this as an exclusive to the $20,000 one. So then they came out and said, well, Elwin's going to sign them. And so if you find a Bond 60th and go behind it, the topper will have, like, with silver Sharpie, like, his initials on it on the back. Oh, I remember. There's a video about that. Oh, I watched a little, little video with Sturding of you yesterday,
    67:18
and I got so happy because on my Pokemon video, I said this game is for the new players at Pokemon Pinball. They don't care about those old dogs. They have us in their pockets. They want new guys. But Zach Sharp, he said on that interview that their fastest growing audience for Stern right now is people in their 20s. Oh, I like it. That's awesome
    67:50
Fastest growing, that's because we're already in it And there's not that many people left in our age group That aren't already in pinball But when you see How they advertise How they do their stuff They're aiming at the new young generation They don't waste money on us They have us, Donnie We buy shit They have us But they're They're not aiming at the You know, dude, I want to drink beer and play pinball with my five-day-old beard on my face.
    68:23
They're not interested in shit like that, like nothing. They want young, 25-year-old successful guy. They want them into the hobby. You can see it. You can see it on the marketing, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. They're not interested in Instagram creeps. I'm going to title this episode Instagram Creeps. This is market research. What do you want me to do? But the whole reason I talked about Stern is in 2012,
    68:57
ACDC did something, and 2013, Metallica hit. When Metallica hit, all the old, very bad artwork on pinball just transformed. The Metallica art, when it came out, that hit between the flippers, it was just next-level shit. It was magical, and it sold like crazy. And then same year, they came out with Star Trek. It was amazing.
    69:28
They came out with Avengers. That was a dud. And then they came out with ACDC Lucy. That was a big-seller. Mustang. I like it. Not many else. Walking Dead was not a success, but the code, amazing. They came out with Game of Thrones when the show was popular, and then they came out with the greatest game of all time, WrestleMania! Hell yeah, brother.
    69:59
Hell yeah. Yeah, so, I mean, yeah, I love that game. That game is such stupid fun. Oh, you know, I've seen some postings of that game for stupid money, I don't know if they were just jokes or what. Ellie's or what? WWE, LE, Pinside. I'm looking this one up real quick. Because Ellie's of WWE is only limited to 400. Only 400, dude. Yeah, yeah. And now with Hulk Hogan gone, rest in peace, brother. Love you. All right. Hold on. With his signature. Hold on.
    70:29
There's two on Marketplace. One of them is $10,500. What? Dude. And somebody else put one up for $24,900. Or trade with two Pokemon at least. What the hell happened? But it has got the signature on it, baby. It's got the signature, man. Oh, I mean, that music. Yeah. State Day 2015, Kiss, it was amazing.
    71:01
Game of Thrones, amazing. Spider-Man, Vault Edition. and then 2016 Ghostbusters this guy lists, he's got the Hulk Hogan signature right, every LE has that and then he also has a signature on the card the apron card from the designer John Trudeau he's like lead designer of the game signed twice on the original price card and the play field that's not a selling point dude
    71:33
Oh, and then Kevin O'Connor, the Stern Pinball Vice President of Licensing, has also signed a price card. So that's why. That's a creep edition. Designed by legendary Stern designer John Trudeau. This is the Instagram creeper. May he rot in hell. I hate that guy. I would rip that card off of there and not mention it. What in the world? I think that dick, I think he's the reason that they haven't remastered Ghostbusters yet. yeah there's i mean maybe yeah because donnie when ghostbusters came with that art
    72:08
that was some next-gen shit wow man yeah oh lord man yeah this was fun this was fun all right all right donnie i have been doing some research in the tournament scene people i'm gonna talk about this for five minutes don't fast forward don't jump to another show because i'm not gonna say then john johnson shot the right ram and it was awesome and shout out to john johnson it's nothing
    72:42
about that so let me let me break this down to you so i was like okay i'm gonna watch some tournament videos i took a whole sunday with popcorns and everything right donnie are you checking prices also still yeah yeah yeah okay so i start watching believe me or not you won't believe this but they're like eight hour long youtube videos out there would turn six hours long eight hours long 10 hours long videos out there with 256 views on them 48 views on them
    73:18
on an eight hour long video so okay i just went into one of them fast forward two hours in somebody was playing you couldn't hear the game you couldn't hear what was going on you could hear some em games in the background bling bling bling bling but not the main game okay let me just check out the playfield i couldn't see the playfield because it had the reflex of the light at the top so i couldn't see in the middle of the playfield there were two guys that were
    73:49
talking about their aunt doing something on her lawn nothing pinball related and all the games lights were light up and i was like what's going on next video so i watched another video same stern game and it was like this is not cool until something cool happened because on these modern games all the lights are lit everything is blinking you're like what's going on But on one of the tournament videos I jumped into, they played classic games.
    74:25
Something magical happened. Something hit me, Donnie. I was like, whoa. I know what's lit on the play field. I know what's going on. And it was fun to watch. And I was like, this is cool. Right? so i researched further in further in and i jumped into a video that was released by kale hernandez oh i know that guy yeah you know kale friend of the show we love kale okay i was
    74:56
like oh i want to say what this dude is doing okay kale is sitting there they're playing classic games number one i could actually hear the game that was cool number two kale and another guy was talking about what the fuck that was going on on the game they were drawing on the screens hey this game is near you can shoot here here and get 2x 3x they were talking about the game
    75:26
what was going on in the game. That was so freaking cool to have these speakers like watching a sports game. It was so cool. It just clicked. It worked. And I don't know if it's because I know K-League, but it was fun to watch. On top of that, they respected the viewer's time. And I'm going to tell you why. when I watch these others where they play 10 hour stern games and blah blah blah
    75:57
one guy plays Donnie and he drains and he walks away and nothing happens you're just sitting there you're waiting 45 seconds and then you can see at the background one Johnny just walking slowly up to the flipper you're just waiting a minute goes by no one is there no one is waiting no one is respecting the viewers time so he just comes up, okay he's gonna play now but no he doesn't play
    76:29
he's gonna take his headphones on he takes out his phone and finding some tune you need to have someone in the booth there to switch cameras to like where the action is at or something now he finds his music I think they should ban headphones on tournaments we talked about that and then he starts headbanging and dancing and I'm like, play, dang it, play. And then he's about to play and then I found out about something new about tournament players. 80% of them has got tics. Now, before
    77:01
they launch the ball, this is true, they have to correct their t-shirts and touch their arms, touch their faces, correct their t-shirts again and wash the glass and just do this and okay, and I'm ready, and then they plunge. And when I see that movement, this tick, I get the tick as a viewer. I correct my T-shirt, and I do this on my shoulders. Yeah, really, really. But all that bullshit was nonexistent on Cale Hernandez's video. People were like waiting on a line.
    77:34
One guy drains, he moves his torso, and the next player jumps on the game. it was so freaking cool so from today on if you say tournament pinball with classics and kale is talking about the games watch them i recommend them it was i'm when i see this next video on youtube i'm not 10 hours or i'm gonna watch it it's good and there was a gotlip
    78:05
game that I didn't know the code and everything, and Cale, he drew the lines and explained it. It was freaking awesome. So give tournaments a chance when you see an eight-hour long video. Take them out. They can be awesome. And also, one of Cale's friends was playing, and this guy's bald, and he's so bald that you can see the reflection of the lights, okay? He's really bald. great guy right so he plays complete the ball and kale he's like yes it's professor xaber playing
    78:39
right now i was laughing so hard my girlfriend ran into that what's going on what's wrong i'm like oh no he's doing the professor xferia joke but he did she didn't get it but uh yeah it is what it is but that's fine yeah yeah so yeah give tournaments a chance man that was really cool and it's at ElectricBats channel. Really cool. Have you watched some tournament videos, Donnie? I catch some clips when they pop up and I like the way that they, you know, the two guys in headsets are narrating what's actually
    79:10
going on. And if you could make, you know, curated content like that, like put up an episode or something where you kind of edit out, like, all the best plays and everything, you know, throughout the tournament and who won, I think that would get people excited to watch. You know, I don't need to watch hours and hours of streaming pinball, But I'll come in for the highlights. That sounds cool. Great idea. First of all, respect the viewer's time. I mean, oh, my God. Just respect this waiting. It doesn't help. We have to just next player, next player, next player.
    79:42
And this just fuzzing around on headset, blah, blah, blah. Wow. Donnie, how much time do we have left? Five minutes, ten minutes? Can we talk about Jason or should we say goodnight? 30 seconds. Go ahead. Oh, 30 seconds. Okay, let's jump to the next video and talk about Jason Dare. Then I can watch some more. Okay. Perfect. On the next one, Donnie. Yeah. All right, Donnie. That was fun. Let's get some outro music. Who's going to make some music for us? Artificial intelligence, of course, because we can actually use that. Now, if you've got a local band or even a non-local band and you want to send some royalty-free music that we can use,
    80:18
we will totally utilize that and hype you up. So, locals, get at us with some stuff, man, because this fills time, but it doesn't fill our hearts and souls. If you want to communicate directly with our souls, wearepinball69 at gmail.com is where you can do that. Email my buddy Jeff over at info at madpinball.com and use code WAP. Get yourself some stuff. I'm shipping shirts right now. If you'd like to order one, go ahead and send me an address and then send me some cash and we'll make it happen. I also need your shirt size.
    80:48
Shirt size. That's it. Remember that. And then we'll be back for more WAPage as time allows. Yeah, baby.
