This afternoon Spooky Pinball shared a picture of the famous voice actor Scott Scott Innes in the booth recording callouts for the company. This isn't surprising given the fact that he has done a number of the callouts for the Spooky's latest pinball machine, Scooby-Doo. What was surprising though is the text that accompanied the pictures: "Scott Scott Innes can do just about any voice under the sun, I wonder which one he's in the studio doing for us now🤔 More Scooby-Doo material? Or maybe even something for a future game!?!?!?" Hmmmm. Was Spooky just taunting us or is there actually something to this? It does seem a little late to be recording more callouts for Scooby now. Long-time followers of the company will remember that Spoky has teased future games in social media pictures in the past. Heck, their dog slept on a Scooby-Doo blanket at multiple pinball shows lol. If Scott Scott Innes is working on the callouts for a future Spooky Pinball game, what could it be? Well, beyond Scooby-Do, he's done voices for the following characters: Astro from The Jetsons Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble Popeye Yogi and Boo-Boo Bear Bugs Bunny / Elmer Fudd / Foggorn Leghorn Captain Caveman Papa Smurf There's definitely a lot of Hannah Barbera going on here. So which of these themes is possible? Spooky has already done a Jetsons pinball machine under contract for The Pinball Company so that's out. I highly doubt that a Smurfs pinball machine is happening. In a way, the Popeye Saves the Earth pinball machine was responsible for the demise of Bally Pinball so I doubt that's happening, though that was more an issue with the game's design than the theme. There already is a Flintstones pinball machine (1994 Williams) but most people hate the fact that it was based on the awful movie instead of the original cartoon. So maaaaaybe. Bugs Bunny was also a pinball machine once, Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball (1991 Bally). That game's layout and rules are also pretty universally disliked. Out of all of the above themes, Bugs Bunny seems the most likely to me, but I wouldn't exactly call it a "Spooky" theme. It doesn't necessarily have to be nor does the voice work have to be for a character that Scott Scott Innes has done before. What do you all think?
