All right, welcome to the Pinball Ozwide podcast, episode eight. My name's Jared, and this month, the prodigal son has returned. Maddy, welcome. I'm back. I'm back in real. You are. We have a special guest as well with us, George. Cheers, Jared and Maddy. Hello. Yeah, good, mate. Good. Thanks for joining us. We just thought an extra one, we'll have a bit of a chat about month in review and what we've been doing and you're going to just go through the expo. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely fantastic. Have a little chat about that. So we'll get through that as normal, I think. Yeah, sure. Well, thank you all the previous listeners. We much appreciate the follows, the likes. We even achieved our, what was it, 1,000 listens last month, wasn't it? Yeah, I think that's what we put up. So we've got a new little badge. I think we're still higher than that, but it's fantastic. Yeah, it was good. Just another little achievement. It's just little baby steps, mate. That's right. Baby steps, that's all it was about. So a couple of months, we had 2,000 listens. Yeah. And I'm... I just want to say I'm happy that the episode I did by myself started creeping up over and over. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was panicking, mate. I thought, fuck, no-one's listening to it because it's just me. No, no, no. I was meant to have all this morning, but I forgot. So how is it now? It's about averages, the other ones, yeah. So it was hovering at about... It's a little bit quiet, right? Yeah. Yeah, because no-one had to listen to me talk shit, so... Anyway, so language warning for the young listeners out there. Yes. There could be a couple of swear words from George. We've met Jarrod. I think I just fear one or two. Yep. I'm sure there'll be a few. How have you been, Jarrod? Mate, I've been all right. So it's actually, sorry, it's been a long time, like I was going to say. I don't think I've seen your ugly mug for a while. It's as long as we've actually been separate, I think. I feel like we went through a divorce or something. you've turned into a homebody you know running around with kids and all that sort of shit I've barely seen you but it's good to finally put a face to a name but we need to start yeah but we need to catch up for a pinball session we do well we tried a couple of weeks ago I was going to the footy and then we've tried yep last Friday and I think you were doing your kids birthdays and stuff like that and then we the time before that we were in Geelong yeah and it just didn't work and we've never tried with George so there's there's been no... Don't send the invite. Yeah, I know. It's true. They'll come. We can't share it with each other. It just doesn't happen, mate. It's only a special one. You don't need to share. So my month, I've... What have I been doing? I'm just trying to recant now. I haven't done much, to be honest. You've been busy with the shirts and organizing T-shirts for the expo. Yeah, that's been the main thing. So you've seen them. So we've basically got our proofs now of the shirts, which I think that they look pretty good. They've come out well. We just got to change one of the logos for George just to get a bit more of an update on the MPE logo. But that's all ready to go for print, basically. So I go on holidays on Monday. So that's why we're doing a bit of an earlier podcast too, guys. So this is Wednesday the 17th. So this will go out in the next couple of days. But I just thought we'd get out an earlier one rather than leaving it so long. More the merrier. Yeah, exactly. So, yes, I've been doing a bit of the T-shirts. So they'll be ready to go to print now. and we'll have them well in advance. So do you know how many of each? So we're doing, so the koala, which is our limited edition one, we're doing 20 of those. And then we've got our previous one, which was the kangaroo, and we're doing 30 of those, basically. So we just thought we'd keep the koala as a limited style. We're doing 50. We're deciding whether or not we do sort of a pre-order situation online and get people to pick them up at the expo. That's a good idea. It is the same if the bee can. Yep. Yeah, okay. Just makes it a little bit easier. Yeah. I think that way we don't have to sit at a desk for, you know, like when we were at Tazpin. You have to sit at the desk, you're going to be slapped. No, no chance, mate. Not a chance at all. Well, I remember Ben Jarrett had discussed it. We'll probably be like, I can't do that. The last hour per session is when you can either come purchase a shirt. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, so, yeah. Because when we had a chat to Tazpin guys up there, I think they were about a 50 to 60 sold T-shirt. Yeah, it sounds about right. So, you know, we were aiming higher, but, you know, it depends on how the pre-sale goes, whether or not we'll do another print run of them and we'll suss it out there. So, yes, I did a bit of that. I actually did a little QR code for our page. So I'm going to have that on the desk and what people can do. Yeah, that's nice. So I'm showing the boys black and white, It'll be a full-colour print, obviously, just a pimple as wide. Scan the QR code and it'll take you straight to our page. Yeah, cool. And they can join the page. Nice work. So I just thought that might be something just to keep on the desk or whatever George has given us, and then that way it'll grow the page a bit more and hopefully people enjoy that. But I was surprised how easy that was to do. Like I just right-clicked on the page and it said create a QR code, and I was like, yep, done. So I did that. The only other thing I did was I got, which I should have shown you actually, I got for, so I had, for some reason, I went back over all my old concert stubs from the concerts because I've got a Metallica and an Iron Maiden machine. So I thought it'd be good to be able to display my little concert ticket with that machine somehow. So if anyone out there knows how to do that or where to position it, I'd love to know. I say make like a key ring out of it. laminate well i i googled laminate it's not the best idea because the heat transfer can damage the inks on the tickets so i ended up buying like a uv protective style sleeve but they're huge mate like they're okay yeah envelope size with a piece you know what the stubs were like in the 90s mate that they were tiny as so i've got them there i had one metallica and two maiden so come october or whatever it is, I'll have another Metallica one. But it was just, I mean, without sort of, you know, going back on my childhood, it was funny to see, like, you know, I went to Motley Crue, have no recollection of Motley Crue. I must have been stoned out of my brain because that's what I did when I was a kid. I had no recollection of Motley Crue, but I had, you know, suicidal tendencies and anthrax and these sort of guys. And you keep all those stuff? Yeah, yeah, 100%. You know, do you know how much a concert was? I mean, it was, I think, 45 was the most expensive concert I paid for. Sounds a bit different, right? They're $180. I know a few people back in the day used to sneak into the festival. Festival Hall was about the only one I think you could sneak into. You couldn't sneak into the others because they were too well manned. But Festival Hall wasn't an issue. You might need to speak to Sonny about that. She's stuck into it a few times in her time. Too funny. So, yeah, so that's my month. Matty, you? What about you? Yeah, so my month has been pretty now flat out just with kids. I've got both my girls' birthday parties, which I've been arranging. Happy birthday. Yeah, so we just had a massive birthday on last Saturday at the play centre, and yeah, just what a headache and place those places are. So that was for my daughter who turned four, and this coming weekend I've got my daughter's sixth birthday. And honestly, you know the biggest pain in the arse? Trying to get RSVPs from parents. They're bloody useless, you know? I just got an RSVP yesterday. I'm like, well, you know, we've already got it booked in. It's like it should have been like last week, like the invitation said. but anyway so is that coming or not coming what are you going to do no look if they come they come yeah then that'll be the talk at the school that he didn't let us come in yeah the first and last time so I'd be busy with the kids doing that yep then it's also my 40th the week after so yep which is obviously going to be lots of beer and pinball I think yep everyone is also going to be very excited I actually used my excavator I got my excavator out tore the shit out of my grass I was jerky as all hell but I dug out some stumps. Okay. So you're getting the hang of it. Yeah. Because you had to dig a hole for your neighbour, you said as well? Yeah, I had to dig a hole for my neighbour. How did you go with that? Driving that down the driveway? Well, I should have let him drive down the driveway first because I wasn't too sure just because of the weighting of it. Oh, I see. Was it the driveway? No, no, no. So it's my driveway. Oh, okay. And it's quite a steep slope and I just wasn't sure with the weighting and how it was going to balance but he drove it down. He's driven excavators before so he did that but then anyway he got to go in his front yard and practice digging small. so was they any good? Yes and no I got the job done but I let him finish it off because he just he did it so much easier but it's all practice How did you go with the tracks though on them? Didn't damage them No, not at all It's fine I know you're concerned about that sometimes I'm more concerned about damaging my grass in my backyard because I spent too much time maintaining and manicuring it so I'm not going to use it again in my backyard until just the Carl Weathers dries out a bit more because it just the one and a half tonne excavator was just like the track marks It's like, yeah, not sinking, but leaving all the grooves in. And I feel like I'm going to have to go back and fill it with sand because it's like really... So I suppose the leading question is, do you have a Matt Cave update for us then based on that? No, not yet. No Matt Cave yet? No, not yet. I've got to ask the listeners what I know. I know, I know. If anyone wants to write in and just start giving him shit... And honestly... PimbleOzWide at Hotmail.com. I keep going, I've got to call them back. I've just got to call them back and just... I don't know why. Sometimes I'm stingy with money. I kept going, I like this money, you know, because it's a quite expensive project. So I will make it happen, and it is going to happen. Anyway, so what else have I been doing? I had some problems with my Insider Connect. So they weren't connecting. Some machines were working, some machines weren't. Yeah, I remember. I was around there last time trying to get on. Yeah, so I'm going, what the heck is going on? And then I noticed on my camera system that my cameras were going a bit flaky. So they kept cutting in and cutting out, then losing disconnection. I was like, that's a bit weird. So then I actually troubleshooted it, that it was actually my modem, the power supply on the modem was faulty. So it was only getting half the power, whether or not it was only sending half a signal or not, or it's just the modem kept turning on and off quick enough, and it was just, yeah, it wasn't letting inside the connector work. So it tells me it's a brand new modem. Straight away, every machine works perfect. And also I fixed a few games. So Iron Man, I was missing a screw out of the... Yeah, the flipper. Flipper, flipper mech, so I had to... Did you ever find that screw? No. It's just disappeared. It's just disappeared. I'd like to... Sorry, that screw was from Jurassic Park. Remember from day one? I got the machine and never had a screw in it. And when we moved the machine around, I've realised there's never had a screw holding it. So I stole the one from Iron Man. Oh, did you? To put in there because I couldn't get to it otherwise later on. Okay. Remember? Yeah, yeah, okay. Because of where it's located. Okay. So I fixed that. What else did I do? I fixed Demolition Man, which had a... What do you call it? A kick-out. Yeah, a saucer. Yeah, yeah, saucer kick out, so that was really slow and kept seizing. So it turned out the previous owner packed it full of grease, and the grease sort of just went hard. So I had to clean all that up, but now that works perfect. So, yeah, that's about my month, I think. Yeah, nice. What about yourself, George, mate? What have you been up to, buddy? My month, I've been pretty busy, obviously organising stuff for the Expo, but I have been away in Vegas for a couple of weeks, getting a few more things organised for the Expo. So where are you with that at the moment? What are you up to? Oh, where am I? So you're talking about pastors. Are you organising pastors? Yeah, so it's like trying to be ruffling off a Harry Potter pinball. Is that a CE or just a standard? The LE. What's the LE? The Wizard. Wizard, yeah, yeah. But there's no difference between the machines apart from artwork, is there? Yeah, pretty much. And the top and the finish. But that's it. Yeah, it's the same machine. So we just, I think we just decided to go with the Wizard. Well, not really us. It's our pinball sales is the one that's doing it. Yes, Paul there. It's going to be raffled off. We obviously have to, we'll start advertising it very soon, but just getting, we've got Bentley Green, who will be doing the raffle. They've got all the proper licenses for it. And once the tickets are sold, if we sell them at the Expo, it will be drawn at the Expo on the Sunday. If the tickets aren't sold, there'll be a date on the tickets where it'll be drawn at a later date. Yeah, okay. And it'll either be drawn at either at Beverly Greens or at Pinball Sales. Yeah, yeah, nice. Which I think it'd be better than Pinball Sales. Yeah, for sure. And we'll just live stream it. Yep. We've had a lot of feedback about it, a lot of people interested. So, to buy a ticket, you need to actually be in the expo. We want to keep it for... Yeah, nice. Okay, good, good. You know, for the people coming to the expo. Yeah, yeah, nice. For the tickets to just sell out overnight. Yeah, yeah. To anyone. To anyone. And then it just gets rid of that. Yeah, that special, you know, well, you might be able to win. Well, actually, you can go the way of Toy Story. Yeah, yeah. And all those tickets sold over the weekend, which is great. How much are the tickets this time? Are those still $100 each or? Yeah, so we're looking at, and that's it. You know, you can do $50 or $100. We're just seeing if we do $50, then we have to sell more tickets. Yeah, yeah, a lot more. so just we're going to do $100 a ticket and then you know you've got better chances of winning yeah yeah that's right tickets yeah it was good to see that you made it to the expo last year and we actually finally got to meet we did finally get to meet but you know look Jared couldn't make it there we go which is my fault yeah now did you hear about the story no not this story but so Jared rings me up and goes you do lay below okay yeah mate I need some guys to help me move some what is it rocks No, it was some drums. Some drums, big heavy drums. I said, I'll see where I can fly for you. But just to clarify, it was eight tonne worth of stock. It was a lot. It was a lot of stock. I ran round and none of the boys wanted to go and do it. Probably because it's over a weekend and they work pretty hard during the week doing the containers. And I said to Jarrod, unfortunately we can't get anyone there. He said, no worries, I'll see you over the weekend. Then I hear that, you know, you're up. I'm going to go, Jarrod's done, he's back, he can't make it. you know I ring up Jared and he says yeah I was moving that stock that you didn't get he's been stuck in bed for a week wasn't great, was not great at all, it was pretty debilitating that's alright, I got a refund on my ticket price so that was ok so what's going to happen this year Jared, are you going to have to move some stock no nothing's happened, I've got my calendar clear this year we'll see what happens I'll be there with girls on or my necks if it's all my knees but as you said I think you want us there a bit early just to show a bit of the set up and go through unboxings if there's the opportunity I'll give you and I know for a fact the Harry Potter machine which everyone's waiting for to get here they still haven't been put in the container yet Paul's going to fly three or four machines down so there'll be some unboxing that can be done he wants to get a few in there So there isn't too big of a lineup for Harry Potter. Yeah. Because that's going to be very popular. It will be hugely popular. I can't wait to have a crack at it again. I tell you what, we're trying to get Star Wars down. Yeah, okay. At well. So thank God for Shannon. He's going to be talking to Zax and AMD and see what we can sort out to try to get one down here. Yep. It looks like a good game. Yeah, definitely. What have you heard about it so far? we'll chat about it a little bit later in the podcast because that is part of it. But initial thoughts is it's a typical flowing fan layout. It looks pretty nice. But, yeah, there's some disappointment behind it as well, I think, from the community as a whole. And myself. Yeah. But as I said, we'll leave that for a bit later. So that's just been one month, Matt, just organising stuff for the Expo. You've got a couple of people coming down for the Expo. Yeah, I'm thinking as a... Yeah, well, we may as well. I don't know. you've been living under a rock I don't know where you are you've got Jack first we had organised coming he had such a great time last year so he's coming again? he's definitely coming again yeah nice and we've been able to get Eric Cominia to come down as well he's the game designer isn't he? and he is the game designer so look if you're buying a Harry Potter I mean you want to get anything signed you know Harry Potter I might take my Pirates of the Caribbean yeah take it down there apron I'd stay the apron down on the trans light. I reckon he'd sign it for you, wouldn't he? Of course he would. Why wouldn't he? It's his machine. I'd just get my T-shirt signed. So, yeah, it'll be good. We'll have... Sonia will be able to speak this year. Last year, unfortunately, she's the opposite of promo lady. Didn't say a word during the expo, and that was because she lost her voice the night before going out to the girls. Sounds like me. We all had issues last year. We all had issues last year. But, you know, we did well. We kept the issues away from the public, and everyone had a great time. It was a really good time. But, you know, how often are we going to be able to get Eric and Jack? Come on. I mean, you said not to ask you when I was going to ask you, but how did you get them to come down? That's a pretty good coup. Yeah. I mean, I don't remember. Has Jack been to Australia before your expo? Jack came. We were at... But Eric hasn't. Eric hasn't. Eric's never been to Australia. Yeah. So, um... Wish you hadn't had a drink then, had you? Well, I don't think Eric knows it's going to hit him yet when it comes to the drinking side of things. Yeah. I've didn't meet... Look, I have spoken to Jack quite a few times, and I got to... The most I got to meet him was when we were at Pinfest. Okay. A few years ago when he went down there with Paul. Yeah. And we were helped... Me and Shane were helped running the store for him, and we went out, and, jeez, it was a great weekend. Yeah. Things happened that we can't even... You can't even imagine what happened during the night. Yeah. We had some fun experiences. And we got to know each other really well. Yep. And, you know, thanks to Paul as well. We've been able to organise him to come down. And he's more than happy. So as long as he can keep coming, he'll definitely keep coming to my office. Yeah, nice. I reckon it's pretty good that he takes a trip. It's not fucking, you know, it's a fucking long flight, man. It is a long flight. Jesus Christ. You know, but he, look, he's such a nice guy. Yeah. Very genuine. and look they'll be there so the good thing is anyone can go and talk to them about whatever they want and answer their questions we won't be doing seminars better off I don't think you need them necessarily though to be honest and the public that are coming into the expo you can have a one-on-one with these guys then sit in a row of a hundred people listening to them talk right but if it's general public as well most of them might not be interested in you. Don't really care, do they? Yeah. Honestly. And I mean, Tazpin didn't have any seminars that we went to. Did Pinfest have seminars as well? Oh, Pinfest do, I think. Do they? I think they are. One-on-one's got to be done. Yeah, 100%. You know. I think turning up, just having a chat and a shake of hand and saying g'day is fine. Yeah, without a doubt. Just playing pinball because that's what you're here for. Yeah. Well, there's going to be plenty of pinball machines there. I'll go for that. I'll come down and see. So who have you got coming? Have you added to the list of people? I don't want to miss anyone out, but I have got no internet. Yeah, you won't get it at my place. Let me see if I can remember. Oh, hang on. Share password. Beautiful. That is fantastic. There we go. The main ones, obviously, have been Pinball Sales Australia, Jersey Jack, and then you've got Saxon Amusements, Stern, Acme. Yep. Do Dutch pinball. Yep, sir. They'll have their Alice in Wonderland. And you never know if, you know, the new game gets announced, what's going to happen then. We're going to have... Hang on. Hang on, let's not skim over that one, George. I'm skimming over it because we don't know. Okay. We're hoping they did, you know, because they're doing something coming out very soon. We don't want an exclusive on this podcast. Jersey Jack. He's not even listening, mate. What do I know? Get off your phone. No, no. You've been told. Yes. No, that's Fingal. Oh, sorry. The last thing I heard was Jersey Jack. That's all right. Look, the Alice in Wonderland's on their way to Australia now. They got shit put into a container Okay But Lucas is flying a couple down To make sure that we going to have one at the end Yeah awesome You going to have Steel Tiger as well Yep. Vector Pinball. Yep. So as you know, they make games in Queensland. Yep. They're bringing in friend machines. P3, we're going to have P3. Oh, nice. We haven't had that there last year. I've never played a Moby Morphic, so. Yeah, a lot of people haven't played it. I haven't played it too. So you're going to have pinball wire forms. Yeah, David. David Moral. Great. Hot-rodded pins. So Tim will be there. He's going to have some cabinets and a few pinballs as well so you'll be able to see what work he does. Hopefully he brings that Superman, Tim. I know you're listening, mate. Yeah. He's there. Have you looked at the names of the... That Superman that he did is unbelievable. That will definitely be there. Unbelievable. You won't be able to play that one because that needs to be kept in. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, verify. You want to have a look at it. Oh, yeah. He's done a super job on that. Yeah. And we're actually wrapped. He's coming. It's good. It's great for the community. Dr. Pinball, he's going to have his lineup and all the great work he does on the pinball machines. Yep. Obviously, we've got this mob for Pinball Oswine. I don't know who they are, but they're going to be quite a bit of a pain in the ass. Legends. So they'll be there. we've got Pink City doing the tournaments yep we're trying to get someone from Melbourne to do it what we're trying to do is keep most of the stuff in Victoria because it's a Victorian show yeah we don't want to tread on anyone's toes with the other exposed yep or pinball shows that they have it was just it was very hard so we were able to get Pink City to come and do it so we appreciate that and we believe they'll do a great job and he's very excited for it we've got Ryan from Melbourne Pinball High is going to be there as well this year. He couldn't make it last year because he had other commitments on. It was very close to Christmas. So it'll be great having him there. Extreme Amusements, they're from Queensland. They're going to come down. So you've only got a couple of people at the moment. The Craft. Yeah, we've got... Still got to work a bit harder. Spooky. Spooky as well? Yeah. Awesome. We've got to have their machines. So we will have a... They're cool. Beautiful. Can't wait. He's going to have a little stall there as well. Awesome. we're going to be there with pinball brothers predator yes it's coming they put up a post the other day that they were getting bloody close the guys are great our agents have been in contact with them continuously so we're going to have one there we're going to have a big alien statue with it not alien a predator and we're going to have alien pinball you should bring yours I could bring my predator statue couldn't I have you got one too I do. It's an old wire chain. Yeah, it's made in Thailand, so it's a bloody heavy bloody thing. Comes apart in two or three pieces. Oh, quite a few pieces, yeah. Tickets are still in on sale. Yep. The VIPs are selling out. We are going to do a couple of giveaways. Okay. We will have a giveaway for Bayside on, I believe, the first Thursday of October. So that's the pinball comp you're talking about? Yeah. Bayside pinball. We're going to do a giveaway with you guys as well. Yep. Okay. Pinball Oz and Y. Yep. Awesome. So let's get, we'll, Joe can get back to you guys if a date, and we'll do that live as well. Yeah, I think, like I said, we'll just put it up on the page and let people know. Yeah, we'll do like what we did last year, right? This time we're going to invite Matt. Okay. What do you reckon? Give him the wrong address. Yeah, so that'll be nice and easy. And look, it's going to be an absolute great weekend. Yeah, it will be. I'm looking forward to it. We have to. We've added Friday because you've got the Metallica concert on Saturday, and we didn't want people to miss out, right? Yeah. We've added that extra day for everyone. Yeah. Very nice of you. You can't have a concert. You can come back after the concert and have a few beers. We've been worded up, mate, again about it, so we're going to come back after. We're going to come back after. I think we might need an Uber that day, mate. That's a long Uber into the city. Oh, it's what it is, isn't it? Well, from Jackson. From here? Yeah, but you don't go from here. You've got to go from the Expo. No, he's talking about Uber for the day. Well, because there's going to be three of us anyway, because Rowan's going to be coming with us, I think, so whatever. Yeah, we'll think about it. I will see if maybe we can get you guys a chauffeur somewhere. Yeah. A shuttle bus. A shuttle bus. You'll need it. Other than that, it's running pretty smoothly by the sounds of it. It's running fantastic. Yep. Good. The VIP passes are all getting printed up at the moment. Yep. Awesome. If there's anything we've missed, anyone wants any information, just... How do they reach out to you? They can reach out to us at... You get deets. ...at nubbinpinbookexpo.com.au. or we can also reach out to Jared or Matt as well. Yep. They can pass in. Of course. You've got a Facebook page anyway as well. I do have a Facebook page and it's actually called Love and Pindle Expo. Shock horror. Shock horror. No, awesome. Like I said, I think it'll be good. Looking forward to it this year. And thinking of expos as well, Pinfest is on this weekend. I was about to bring that up as well. Before you do, I just want to just quickly give them a little shout out on their Facebook post. Brett, I don't know if you guys have noticed, but they've been putting up Pinfest contributor posts. So they've had the photos of the guys, and they're, you know, three, four, five star, depending on how many years they've turned up in the machine. Mate, I thought it was a fucking great idea. Great idea to do that. So that was really good. It doesn't work without the contributors, right? And you need them, because they do help a lot. So I just thought that was well worth just giving Brett and the boys a shout out there, because I was, when I first saw it, I thought, That's a really nice thing to do. It is. And sorry, Brett, even if we already have told you that we can't make them again, I'm not coming this year. Unfortunately, we've got kids' birthday parties. You were keen, though. Oh, 100%. But I thought we were going to do the right thing for the kids. We were supposed to go and take a pre-debut with us. Yeah. And we just couldn't get one down here in time. Well, I could never go because I was going on holiday. Once again, thanks for the invite, guys. Much appreciated. And they've sold out as well. So tickets are done and dusted. It will be a great weekend. Everyone, you need to go. It is a good weekend. And good luck, guys, anyway. So all the best for the weekend. Hope it goes well. Hope it goes well. I'm sure it'll be smooth. And while you're on that, do everyone hear what's happened with Perth Expo? Yeah, we had a bit of a chat before Matty turned up, so Matty's not sure about it. No, Matty. No. You've been doing too many kids' parties. Probably, mate. That will not be happening. Yeah. Moving forward. look they put a lot it's a lot of hard work is put into it and that I've spoken to a couple of the guys they're going to come down to the Melbourne people that's why we've invited them we've even invited a guy from Pinfest and TASPIN it's a lot of work and if you read their post put a post up yes they just have a read of it and you know people need to understand that they do work hard yeah so they've been you said I think I had a bit of a read of it quickly it was they've been doing it for 10 years, I think they said. And they just pointed towards family commitments and personal commitments that the Expo was just taking over their lives a little bit. It takes up a lot of time. People do think it's easy. You just put your hands in and off you go. I would hate to be in your position, George. I couldn't. Too much, mate. Most of the others have, like, eight or ten people. Unfortunately, it's just me and Shannon. Yeah, well, that's it. And that's hard work, hard jagger. Yeah, but we're pretty organised and we get through it. If there's any bullshit, we just cut the bullshit out and we just go with where we need to go and keep it nice and easy. Where was this posted for the Perth Ex? I didn't see it. I must admit I probably need to follow a few more pages, to be honest. But hopefully someone picks up what they've gone and run with. Because I presume, I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not that affluent with the Perth scene, but I presume that would be a pretty big blow to the Perth scene over there in regards to... They've built up the pinball community there, by the way, right? And they do draw in good crowds. Look, if someone does do it, these guys have got a lot of knowledge. I mean, they might. I'm sure they facilitate it for one year, maybe. You don't know, right? But they may facilitate a handover-type situation if someone wants to pick it up and run with it, I'm sure. I'm sure there'd be people over there. Great guys. Yeah, sorry to hear. Sorry to hear. Well, you can speak to them when they come down. Well, we will do that. Look forward to it. Yeah, for sure. so anyway with game of the month mate do you have a game of the month I've just been flogging away on God again to be honest bit of Game of Thrones just been giving that a bit of a hammering lately but yeah so Game of Thrones for me still doing Lannister although I did Tyrell last night just to see what that was like as a different mode but yeah I still really like it which I didn't speak to you about but it's funny Nadine doesn't listen to this podcast so this will be fine to say but she's been spending a bit of coin lately and, you know, obviously the trip, you know, two kids, it's not cheap, as we all know, to go on holidays with kids, even just to Queensland, which is where I'm going. But I've sort of been, you know, a couple of pimples would be nice. She goes, well, where are you going to put them? I'm like, I don't know, darling. I've got a living room and a kitchen to fill. Well, she said, actually, so I've got, you know, a little office space area that the kids have two desks and I showed George this earlier. She said, oh, what if we take the kids' desks out? Sounds like a plan. It is a plan. He just needs to knock down that wall. I used to have the pimples in the kitchen so that's that could be interesting to add because as you know I'm keen to get a Stranger Things, Deadpool even an Aerosmith Pro would be fun to have so a couple of those so that may be on the horizon but yeah so Game of Thrones, me you been doing anything? since I fixed up Iron Man I've been smashing away at that, honestly I love the spinners in it, it's great fun hitting the spinners brutal machine. Oh, you know what? I can't get anywhere near my bloody Grand Champ, which was, I think it was about $127 million. That was for me that game. I remember that. $127 million. That was during a tournament, wasn't it? Was that during a tourney or not? Or was it after? Oh, I'm not sure. I can't remember. But it was the last 45 minutes. It was crazy. It was a good game. I kept getting bloody, oh, jeez, what's that thing called? To run. Jericho. Jericho. Yeah, Jericho. And hitting the eye monger non-stop. It kept that multiball going. It was awesome. so apart from that I've also been playing ACDC's too so kids have been enjoying listening to the music as well so maybe crank the music up so yeah and we don't think have you because you've been away you haven't been what's in your collection why don't you tell people what you've got at the moment what's in my collection he's got to go to the phone I've got to go to the phone you've got that many you can't remember have you been playing anything this month honestly I haven't I haven't I've just you know obviously been away and then organising this and then I have more work too so what have I got I've got a Wizard of Oz Toy Story Batman 66 L.E. Guitar Hero it's not L.E.R. it's a great game Daytona Halloween Halloween spooky you've got Pirates don't you I do have Pirates there it is there Avatar Guns N' Roses and then the JJP Avatar yeah JJP Avatar Guns N' Roses and is that a new edition the avatar? I don't remember that. The avatar just came out last year. Yeah, but when we did the giveaway for the tickets, I don't remember if it was there when I was there. No, it wasn't. So recent-ish. Because we did it before the expo. We did do it before the expo. And he had to fly, once again, had to fly the machine down to get it. So it's after. Yeah, nice. And yeah, we will add a Harry Potter in that collection as well. Don't blame you. Alice in Wonderland, we've ordered. yeah nice yeah great game my daughter loves it I enjoyed it at the expo last year so looks beautiful and it plays and plays nice yeah it plays nice it's a completely different type of game yeah not all harsh and hard hitting so yeah nice I think it'd be a good family game yep lovely alright I guess that moves us on to our standard pinball price watch and now we're going to play a hands-free recovery you know that's just like a piece of junk. Your opinion, man. Buy that for a natural one. That's an amazing deal. I'm going to make them an awful account of you. So it's a price like PC South for a hand machine? Yeah, correct. So the idea is that we just give our views on what we're seeing in the hobby at the moment with pricing, specific generally to what we see on the page and other forums as well, I guess, but specifically to Australia. the feedback we've had is that people enjoy sort of that kind of discussion. So, yeah, we just run through, see what we're doing. Machines are still selling because Sharon's played out. Yeah, they're selling, but for a discount, but definitely a different price. Yeah, I think we agree that there's still machines selling, but I think this is more the price at where they're selling. Look, some of it can be hard because, you know, we don't know. And I'll still use that bloody Foo Fighters LE that is still on Facebook for $15,000. That's crazy. So I don't know if that's sold or not because sometimes sellers may not mark them sold. I think this seller in particular would do that. Yeah, you'd think so. Things like that. I mean, I'll give you a bit of a run of what I've seen recently and tell me what you've seen. Pinball Magic for 5K. I didn't see that one. I mean, when you got your Pinball Magic, They were up around $7,500 to $8,000. So now, $2,500, $3,000 down. Judge Dredds have hovered back down to $5,500 again. I mean, there was an Aerosmith Premium I saw for $12,000. Yeah, I saw that too. So that was well done. There's a Mando LE for $13,000 at the moment. There's a Walking Dead that was at $13,500 since being dropped to $12,900. Now, again, Walking Deads were highly sought after. They're dropping now because the rumors of Stern bringing out a new working deck. Yes, no doubt. But I still feel like even with newer machines, I still feel like those machines, if people purchase them, when they go to resell those newer machines, they will still come back to the pack as well. You won't be getting what you pay for on them. I mean, there was an X-Men LE, a Wolverine, for $10.50. Now, I know that's... $10.50. $10.50 for an LE. Now, the X-Mens were, I think, released when Stern was struggling a little bit, so they were in that era of Buck Hunter as well, weren't they? Yeah, that type of thing. They weren't putting lots into them. That was probably one of the better machines out there back in the day. There was a Borg one, wasn't it? Is that a Borg? Yeah, it is. So, like, I think the flow and that sort of stuff is probably pretty good on them, but just price-wise, you know, I mean, look, to be fair, it was probably only a nine and a half something machine at the price point when it was released. So it's still obviously... Above, yeah. If you bought it new in box, you're still getting a return on it. But, you know, for it to drop... Well, at the moment, there's also a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premium for sale for 10 and a half. Oh, yeah. Yeah. 10 and a half for a premium. Yeah, we've discussed... Yeah, I know. I hate that. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. But look, it actually does have a faulty... They're spinning disc ball, but that's a few hundred dollar fix anyway. But for ten and a half, even if you negotiate, you know, a premium. If someone were to ring him up and offer an eight, they'll probably take it. They're not going to keep it in what they're advertising. That's what I mean. It's a premium. And also, you know, you even had, like, the Looney Tunes. So this is sort of going to come in with the best buy. But as well, like, you know, the Looney Tunes pinball machine from Jason Maddow. And that's all within minutes. So, yeah, so just to clarify, you need to, because there's a Looney Tunes JJP, which is what I automatically thought of. Oh, sorry, yeah, yeah, sorry. So, actually, people know. It is Bally, isn't it? This is the Bally machine, yeah, which is the... It's not JJP, the Looney Tunes is. Correct. No, no, Spooky. Yes, oh, excuse me, sorry, Spooky. But the one you're talking about is the Birthday Bash, the Looney Tunes Birthday Bash, which is a 1990-something machine. And it's Bally, though, isn't it? It is a Bally Williams, yeah. Now, I mean, look, admittedly, it needed a good shop. That was 29, wasn't it? But 2,900. And that sold within minutes. It needed a good shop, some rubbers and what have you, but for the, you know, you call that a player's condition machine. Yeah, 100%. Perfect, mate, perfect. 100%. Perfect to get into the hobby with. And also, Rocky and Bullwinkle actually had sold his for 3,900. Yep, 3,900. Yeah, and that sold within minutes. Yep. And, you know what I mean, people are asking still, I'm pretty sure there's some on the page for 7, you know? Yeah, yeah. So is that actually the price that machine's worth, or is that just to try and get rid of it within minutes? So this is where it also is, isn't it? Yeah, I reckon you've got something there, because people are putting them up at a cheaper price just to get rid of them so they can make room for the... I mean, is that many new machines coming out? Yeah, that's right. I don't even know what's happening with the mods, because there's just been a whole heap of mods. Because they're losing on these machines, I think the mods are starting to drop off. But I think that's what you've said is true, though. It's just a supply versus demand, though. There's so much supply out there with less demand on second-hand machines that people not necessarily have to go, oh, two grand done, but they have to think, okay, if I list it for 10, it might sit for a few weeks, I can't afford that to happen, I'll do it at 8.5 because that's my bottom line and it'll sell. And that's the advantage, I think. Well, that is. So the people community obviously being small. Yeah. In Australia. In Australia. go up again when everyone's in our room pretty much the only way is to get more people into the community so at the moment with us for MPE we're 70% of the tickets are sold all to new people so we've got new people coming into the community which means it's going to be more sales even for people even if they don't buy brand new machines they don't have to right some people come in they're going to play machines they're going to love them all you guys are going to stick in your hands and want to sell one they'll be jumping onto Facebook pages and you'll be able to sell the machine and you won't have to process it as though. We need to get new people into the community. Or we just need another COVID epidemic and then Christ will just go back up again, eh? No, I don't need that. I bet we can sell off all our sheets and buy later again. You didn't have to leave the house. No, I still don't leave the house. We love it. We love it. But, yeah, so there's definitely other ones. And did you... I mean, for me, the best buy was that $1,000 Black Knight project. And that's what I had down there too. Yeah. He sent different head or different... So I don't know if that means... Because he didn't show photos of it. No, I was wondering if it was actually missing the backbox. No, I noticed it was there, but I don't know if it was a different backbox. Oh, yeah, possible. That's why I got the feeling. $1,000. You'd give a fuck, would you? You'd just go to CPR. Does CPR do the back glasses? You just buy a second-hand back glass for $1,000 or whatever. You can even get Tim to make your whole new cabinet. Yep. You've got a brand new machine almost. So that was good. The only thing I want to touch on with the price watch, though, is, again, I'm seeing more and more Godzilla premiums, and it's falling on deaf ears that people aren't telling me why they're coming up for sale. But I feel like these machines, there's been a few machines lately that are trying to creep the pricing back up for whatever reason. I mean, there's a High Speed 2 on the page for about $11,000. Now, it looks nice, but for $11,000, you know, he's obviously – and don't get me wrong, as I've always said, sellers can put up whatever they want. This is not a price police. This is just my interesting thoughts, you know. There's been a couple of Godzilla premiums back up to $14,000. Now, they were selling $11,500, $12,000. So I just wonder whether or not – look, they haven't sold yet. so maybe that's not... Testing the waters. That's what I mean. They're pushing it up. I mean, you know, there was an Iron Maiden LE for $21. Is that the price anymore? I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. If you look at a patent behind it, what you'll find is there are... Look, as you know, in this hobby, there are some people with plenty of coin. Oh, 100%. So they'll buy a new machine, say $20, $25. Let's just say $20. And if they got to sell it in eight months to or they don care Yeah have Because that loss doesn affect them Yeah that right And that brings the prices down Then you've got the everyday Joe Blow who just wants one or two machines in their house for fun for the kids and for the family, right? But if they pay 20 for it, they don't want to be selling it for 15. Yeah. They'll keep the price up. So if you look further into it, usually fine. It's the everyday Joe Blow's got his price. Unless it's someone selling a lot of his own business, right? this is going to be a little bit closer because you only get the warranty and stuff like that but you'll find and that's what I've noticed, the people that have a lot of porn and are moving machines a lot, they'll just get one played for a year and move it on, they don't really care we also have heard stories of distributors, resellers telling people, oh you know it's worth more, you're getting a bargain and then when they go to sell it they can't get the price but they would sell it I mean you definitely I think you're on to something there George, without a doubt, I still feel regardless of that argument, and not to be blunt, but the market is where the market is. They can try those prices, but they just won't get them. So it's a matter of you either hold your machine and not sell it or you reduce it. I mean, prime example is there's a Mando LE for $21,000 on Marketplace, and the bloke with the Mando LE for $13,000 can't sell it. So what makes you think that one at $21,000 is going to sell? Yeah, it won't. It can't sell. It just can't, you know. I mean, that's a tip. No, not 10. That's an eight grand difference. That's a big price difference to try and flog something off. Yeah. It's not within the market. So that's the difference. The guy selling that Mando, does anyone know who he is? Has he got a big collection or has he just got one or two? No, the photo shows a few. Oh, yeah? Yeah. So I just find it's just interesting. Some prices are getting pushed up and it's just not happening. but also before, George, you said, oh, you know, some of these rich people, they bought a machine for $20,000 and they don't care if they lose $5,000. We've seen quite a different side of this, haven't we, with some of these people who they bought it for $20,000 and they try to sell it for $32,000. Well, then, yes. And these blokes are loaded. Is that still happening now? Oh, no. No, that's not it. That was obviously during COVID, and they were buying a relatively limited edition. We weeded those people out of the page, so we don't see it on our page anymore because we just thought at the time it wasn't the right fit for the hobby and it was a big topsy. Well, you know, that's the problem. That's where, you know, all these manufacturers, they've seen all these machines selling for so much more. They've all started with their prices up. Straight up. And now we're all in the shit because of it. Yeah. Yep. So I still think there's still some settling to happen because, as I said, Those machines that I mentioned that are pushing up slightly, they need to – and they're not far off the mark, but I just wonder if they get an offer for 12.5 on Godzilla, if they'd sell it being that it's listed at 14. And also the next thing, do these people even look at the market either? Have they even seen the other listings either to even go, oh, there's one there at 12? Yeah, do your research type situation. Maybe they just kind of – They just – No. I mean, isn't there – there was one which, I mean, a couple of the members actually called out, which it was respectful, so I'm okay with that. But there was, what was it? I can't remember. It was a machine, a premium or a pro, excuse me, that was advertised at $12,500 and brand new, they're $12,450. Oh, yes. That's right, yes. And, you know, someone said, what are they brand new? And someone replied, $12,450. I saw that, yes. Now, the machine still sits at $12,500. Now, that needs to be, or I shouldn't say needs to be because people take that the wrong way, but my opinion is if you want to sell that... About a grand off. About $1,000 off. Yeah, but see, somebody doesn't know anything about pinwheels, don't they? But that goes to Matt's point. But surely he's bought that new in box because I think it was a home use only. Yeah, I think it was. So if he's bought it new in box, you know, you should know, okay, this is what it cost me. Am I going to get it new? I mean, I saw a post up from a distributor saying, you know, I won't mention names, but, you know, this new machine still in box, best model, blah, blah, blah. And it was cheap, but it wasn't – it was pretty much what it's worth. Yeah. You know, just talking it up in the ad. Yep. So – As they do. Yeah. You're not going to look at it and go, oh, this looks all right. Apparently it's, you know, one of the best machines, and they'll go, they're not really – yeah, that's exactly right. Yep. Also, there was a Guns N' Roses jersey jack-listed yesterday, or the day before. That was at 11 grand. So they're within the market, even though we've seen one sort for 8.5. Yeah, LA. Even though we've seen a couple before sell below 10. Yep. But at 11 grand, I think you're still within range. I think within 10 to 11 is already fair for that machine. Is this the new one? Yeah, the jersey jack one. Yeah, the ass has fallen out of those. Something strong. Yeah, correct. Correct. But, yeah, I think 11 is okay because it would give negotiation 10 and a half a year done. Yeah, that's right. Here's a question for you. So you're going to sell a machine as an example. Yep. You both have partners, right? Yep. Okay. So when you say – Don't sell or anything. So this is another fact that comes into it. See, I'm – You know what I'm going to sell. I'm lucky, right? I'll put a machine up for sale. I will. She'll ask, you know, how much you're going to sell it for. Yep. What they believe it's worth and what you know it's worth, it's going to be two different stories. So how much pressure do you get on if you say, let's say you know a machine's only going to sell for $7, but you've bought it for, say, $12. Your wife doesn't want you to lose more than $1,000. Am I right? Yeah. And you've got that scenario too. Look, for me, it's a little bit different to Matt. Matt, as he said, he doesn't say anything. I think I could move as many in and out without knowing. She would never know. But with me, I'm very open and transparent with my wife, but she doesn't meddle, so to speak, if that makes sense. Well, so you're doing what you can't, the best you can do, right? Yeah, like if I buy a machine like that Game of Thrones, if I buy that for $11.50 and I can only get $10.50 or $9.50 or $8.50 or whatever it is, it is what it is. I generally sell something, will have cash in my pocket if needs be to put towards the machine to make up a difference. So it is what it is. You know, I've always had the opinion throughout my whole, and I say in inverted commas, collecting life with pinball machines that I get so much enjoyment out of keeping them and playing them that if I lose a few hundred dollars here or there, I don't care. I don't care. And I'll be honest, I try and buy machines that are well-priced so I'm not losing my pants on them. And that's probably why I don't buy many new in-box these days is because I know I'll probably lose my pants on them, but I'm happy to wait. Let some of the kinks iron out of the new ones. Look for them secondhand when they turn up. So, yeah, Nadine's pretty good. And as I said, doesn't necessarily meddle as such in, oh, you can't sell it for that much. Because as I mean, that does happen. Oh, I'm sure it does. That just leads us on to our What the Fuck segment. as part of the pricing. This is my favourite segment. Matt's not so much. What's it about? It's my little thing that I like, and thanks to people who do actually send me screenshots. So this is the second month in a row that Brett Elliott has sent me a couple of screenshots. He sent me two machines. You guys tell me which one you think is the what the fuck of the month. All right, let's do it that way. So he sent me an Eldorado, which is an old wedge head EM style single player machine for $10,000 firm. There was no negotiation. 10,000 firm. It looked okay, but it must be a, I don't know, 60, 70 something model, but 10 grand for an Eldorado. I'll buy that for a dollar. The other one was a Freddy Nightmare on Elm Street at 17 and up. No. That's him, mate. $17,500. During COVID, that was only going for $12,000 or $13,000. There you go. So, Freddie wins. $12,300 for Freddie. I bought mine during COVID, though. Have you got one? Yeah. I was going to buy one, but it's gone. What I paid is... I either paid $4,000 or $5,000. Is the floor working on it? Yeah, everything works. Oh, that's beautiful. And actually, it has floors, too. And the back lies are signed by Robert Kingley himself, too. That's fantastic. It's a sign to me. Yeah. Good. We'll borrow that. We'll borrow that. So there you go. So that what the fuck goes to the Freddie at $17,500. So thanks, Brett. I appreciate it. Appreciate those. So that's a pinball watch, price pinball watch. Nice chat. Now, I thought if we've got time, do I have a bit of a chat about what's been going on in the industry? A couple of new machines have come out. Yeah, of course. And a bit of interest. So I don't know. Do you want to start Big Bang Bar as the next Pedretti game? CGC has been announced, I believe. Well, we haven't seen it, though. That's the thing, isn't it? It does take a long time. Pedretti. Is it going to be a big seller? Yeah, you reckon? Maybe. I don't know if it's going to be. Look. Are they off doing Totem? I don't know. Look, honestly, if I brought 30 into the country, 30 would sell. I'd believe so for Big Bang Bar. But it would be bigger in America, obviously, bigger community, bigger population. So in general. If you want a Big Bang Bar, just give it to us. We'll look after the boys. Lucas owns one. He owns the original. You're just talking about getting all the beers, mate. I'm talking about the machines. Yeah, okay. They're just always looked around these days. Yep. Okay. Never know what you'll find. Okay. So new distribution agreement, possibly? No, I'm not saying anything. Just saying at the end of the day, we can help anyone. You can help anyone. All right. Yeah, so Big Bang Bar. Look, I've never played one. It was Capcom's last game, wasn't it? Capcom, yeah. Yeah, so look, I've always... No, I haven't played it, actually. I think I might have had a look at it. To your point, though, is there enough in Australia that have been accessible for people to want to buy? I know there's always that sort of FOMO back in the day. If I missed one, I'd love one. But now... You know, got any idea? They made like 30, didn't they, or something? Yeah, because there was two runs. One had like 10 machines, the next run had like 30. Yeah, so there's not many worldwide, that is. And I know Lucas has one, and I know there was another one many years ago that was floating around the community as well. I'm sure there's maybe four to five or more here in Australia, possibly. But that's my point, is that because they're so limited, now that people are like, oh, well, hang on a minute, Star Wars has just been released, and we had John Wick, and all the other rumours that come out with the new machines, are people looking forward as opposed to looking back with this specific machine? It is. But then again, look, Cactus Canyon sold. A lot of them were sold too. So it's the same sort of thing, isn't it? Amazon Ring. That's like a few years ago. Yeah. Yeah, things have changed. Look, if it was during COVID and they released Big Bang Bar, they'd sell a shitload. But right now, I'm not sure where the market's sitting with that. As you said, my main concern is getting them here. It's so slow. And also, you know, even like think of Predator as well. Like how many of them, how much, how many people want them in Australia? Yeah. Like, you know, how many have... Oh, we've sold quite a few. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which is fantastic. It's the same sort of perspective, I think. Good thing is, you know, at least there's not 300 coming to Australia. Okay, yeah, yeah. So it'll hold its value a little bit better. Yeah, yeah. You know, it's, you don't want... Well... Well, it depends. Not to disagree, I don't know. I mean, knew they might, but like you look at Queen's, Abba's, that sort of stuff. like well yeah that's pretty damn big we've got we have got a lot of interest in that Predator yeah and people just waiting to play it at the expo yeah I think I think what's killing it is the price and the assets as well and the assets yeah like obviously the price isn't up to you mate it's obviously them but it's just you know I think with George's price is fucking red hot especially with what he offers yeah but I'm just saying it's just pricing is just up there for them yeah that's all no I think that was one of the biggest, I think, concerns that was out on the internet. And the other one... So, anyway, there's also talk about Pokemon machines still. Yeah, I've heard about that. It's been talked about for like last year. Is that supposed to be the next Stern or something? I'd have also heard. Is that what the rumours were? What I heard was Jack Danger. Jack Danger's last machine, supposedly. Final design. But, once again, just another rumour. Pokemon, I grew up with as a kid. I'd love it not really it was too early in the morning to watch the bloody thing at 6am so but um I never got into it never had any interest yeah that's exactly right you didn't drive around with your phone trying to find for about two and a half minutes and almost getting hit by cars and shit like that so um yeah we got Pokemon Rumour as well yep um but I think that is going to be a huge sellout it's like Dungeons and Dragons all the geeks are going to go fuck yeah I won't say people couldn't see me do that but hands in the air um once again it's a podcast matt so the um maybe he needs a view it was so funny when i was i was describing harry potter and about the um i was talking about the um what's he called the wizard with the stick yeah what's he called the the bad guy like what's his name i don't know he was in that kickback and i said oh he'd be really cool if he could do this oh yeah and no one can see I was like Matt no one can see you mate so anyway yeah so I think Pokemon will be obviously an American and honestly even Japan that's where it will hit home in Japan but then also Borderlands they're talking about as well oh really yeah Borderlands because they just did a movie was there a movie yeah they've done a movie and released a new game as well which I wouldn't buy I'm not spending 110 bucks on the game That's what you've got to do, mate. No, no, I'll wait for about six months to get them a special price. Well, that's the only thing you can do, yeah. I'll just have to play something else. Yeah. Like a pinball instead. That's it. What else have we got? We've got The Walking Dead Remastered coming sometime. Has that been announced? It hasn't been confirmed. So now it gets a little rumour. It is a rumour. And also the Ghostbusters Remastered next year sometime. Yeah, okay. So, which will be quite interesting. I said, I think, on the last podcast, I just don't know where the demand for that is. It's such an older machine now. Code is great with lime and cheese, but... This series is done. Yeah, it's over. Like I said, I think I said Ghostbusters I can understand. Yeah, Ghostbusters would be massive. As long as they change the flipper gap, fix the outlanes. And as long as they can get the assets actually and do it right. Yeah. And that's it. But I hope they don't change the artwork in the playfield. No. I hope not. They can't do that. That's insane. But, you know, what could be cooler is if actually added, like, the UV effect, like, in Stranger Things on that playfield. that would look insane proton band yeah if they could do that cross the beams that'd be fantastic can you imagine that when you have the cross the beams bloody video game that it comes out on the playfield that'd be pretty cool and it scoots up the playfield or something that'd be awesome but that means they'd have to redo the playfield well they're going to have to anyway so obviously they'd I'm sure they don't have any in stocks but they'd already have the design there everything ready to go they're going to reduce the gap and stuff like that I suppose I'm sure they can Same as what they did with Metallica, mate, you know? Yeah. So they redid the user standard thing, but obviously made adjustments on the CAD software. Yeah. And let it go from there. Yeah. And what else? Yeah, so. And then it was Star Wars that was just recently released. Yeah, yeah. So have a bit of a chat about that and see what you guys think about that. Yeah, I need to play it. You know, too many people bagged the machines without even. I'm not bagging, but I'm just not excited. You're not excited? Not at all. I'm a big Star Wars fan, and that machine just looked... I actually thought they were taking a piss. I thought it was a home pin. It looked like the home pin machine from Oscar. Yeah. I really went, okay. I think just before we keep going, though, I think to your point, though, George, the problem is that we don't see these machines for so long in Australia. We have no choice but to make first impressions on what we see and on gameplay and on art and assets and stuff like that. So, well, this is why we say. And expectations are so high. I mean, if you look at previous machines, you know, Jaws, I mean, even Dungeons and Dragons, they've got this massive, you know, head, move, all the rest of it. It just looks like, to be agreeable with Matt, a more stripped down style version of what we've seen recently. Maybe that's why. For a premium price as well still. This is what gets me. This is why you've got to get a, you know, when they're making a machine, they need to get one out. They should fly one out to Australia and get someone to fly it where people can go and play it and make their opinion because a lot of people will go. Don't get me wrong. I'm going to play it and I'll probably still enjoy it, but I just personally looking at it, I'm just not a fan. You know what really sort of set me back was that that's not a John Borg layout. I was very, very surprised by that. That's a fan layout. Yes. When was the last time he did a fan layout? I mean, you look at Tron and Turtles, for the two that come to mind, he's always got those inner loops. Like, this is a fan layout. It just did not look like a Borg at all, which was amazing. I mean, initially it looks like a good shooter. Like, I watched, I think it was just a 20-minute YouTube clip of Jack Danger playing it with those guys. John wasn't there, but I think it was Raymond Davidson was there, so one of the top players in the world. and a couple of the coders and stuff. It looked like a typical good shooting stern. I won't take that away. Flow looked pretty good. Yeah, we know. The shots looked good. Get down to Australia and do a live stream, mate. Pretty good. Hit him up, buddy. You know what? Hit him up. Let's see what happens next year. Hey, you've still got a month to go. Hit him up, mate. Hit him up. We're full out and booked out. You can fit Chuck in. Oh, well. You might have to. I'm going to have to cancel you. I was going to say, a couple of people might drop out the way this is going. But yeah, so back to Star Wars. Look, what do you think of the artwork of it and everything else? I like the back glasses. Yeah, likewise. The back glasses and the bodies generally look fantastic. And I like all the artwork on the cabinets. I think they're good. As for the cabinet artwork, I like the Pro and the LE the best. I do like the pre-empt, but if I had the choice of one or the other, it would be either the pro or the pro. I don't know for me yet. I'm not saying anything. What about you, Jarrod? What do you think about the artwork and Transline? Yeah, I'm the same as you. I really like them. I think the artwork on the playfield lets it down. Yes. Oh, sorry. Yeah, I should talk about this. Yeah, it looks sheer. It looks back to their cut and paste of inserting artwork. I don't know if it's hand-drawn, so I believe it is, but it looks like clip art. Yes, it does. It looks like they've just taken images from the last Star Wars and reused them, and I just, I'm not a fan. I'm not a fan at all. You know what I really don't like? Looking at that stupid Stormtrooper head, because guess what? That's my shooter rod. Yeah, okay. They literally cut the ends off the shooter, although they just didn't glue them on. They went, hey, we'll stick that one right there. And you've got Darth Vader on the other side. You know what? That was probably a shooter they were going to use, and they decided, oh, he's a bit too rigid, so they can't use it. So they had them in storage. Even the toys in it, honestly. It's the ATA. ATAT? ATAT, yeah. What a useless... Hey, it falls down on a little surgeon. I know that's what it does in the movie, but it could have been a bigger thing. It could have been something much more I the opposite to you What did you want it to do I don know No look I just think it looks cheap and it just... it could have been something bigger, like more of a stand-at feature. So, OK, thinking off the cuff, do you remember those old toys that you used to push the underneath of them? Yeah, yeah, that's right. That's right, yes. So that's... just thinking out loud, that's what it reminds me of. However, I will say my first impressions was I was drawn in by that. I did like it because it drew me immediately to the scene. Immediately. And that scene, to me, was iconic for Star Wars. So I'm a fan of that. Just take that back. I don't take anything back. But I do agree with you about the heads. They're a bit corny. I do like the assets initially on the screen that they've got. They pulled from the original movies, so at least you're not seeing this cartoon drawn third-party voices. You get to see them running to the bridge away from the stormtroopers, where the bridge collapses on the fourth or fifth one. Fifth or sixth. Yeah, I'm not sure. So obviously it's four, five and six the assets are from. I think that's a good bit of it. But look, we had those assets in the last Star Wars too. You know, had the full clips. There wasn't any hand-drawn artwork or anything. It was all, you know. So, because if you did, you're not having a Star Wars machine. You've literally built a... But that's, I mean, that's a good thing. Yeah, but they've got this screen, which is a little bit bigger. Yeah. And they've cut it down, cropped it down, all the videos are. Yeah. Like, I'm going, no, there should be the whole screen and integrate the scores and stuff within it, not make it two separate parts. Yeah, right. Have you seen that? I haven't. I just saw, I think you sent a screenshot of where they had, you know, the famous writing text and you can't see it until it's halfway through. So that's as big as the animations are. Yeah, right. And otherwise you've got this big, like, outside. So it's a 4x3 on a 16x9 screen. Is that what you're telling me? Pretty much, mate. They need to fix that. It needs to be the whole screen and then they need to integrate all the text and stuff into that animation because, you know, so the movie clip. And while we're, because the rest of what I've got is okay, I don't know if you saw the ball savers Yoda's eyes. Yes, his eyes, I know. Fuck me, mate. Get rid of that shit. That is fucking horrendous. But that really is shocking. That looks terrible, mate. Terrible. It's not great. Hey, but the ball sack looks all right, and as long as it works all right. Well, the save that I saw... There was two of them. When it comes up, let's go flip it and that goes up. But I don't think there's two of them. I think the magnet is just what it does. So they just pushed the button because I noticed once the ball, it flung it up the left side, not the right side, back into the shooter lane, the left side out lane, and then just drained. But I did see when the ball flung back up into the play field, that was quite impressive. And same when the ball did go to... But it looks like it's random. You're either going to get it or you're not, possibly. Hopefully they can fix that with coding somehow. What a bad game. There you go. I haven't said it's a bad game. I just really... I think they've just hit the... They've missed the mark. We've started with that. Seriously, if we can get one down, we'll get you guys down there to play. Yeah, of course. I've got a plan, yeah. We'll kind of do a stream on it too. Yeah, love to. They've just missed the mark. And what do you think about Java? Java. he could have done something yeah he just sits does he does he turn or something I don't know I really didn't I don't think he looks it's a nice looking sculpt but they've obviously done the old it's a whirlpool or whatever he goes up to doesn't he yeah still and hey even that even that plastic there that could have been because you know where they throw him into the sand womb yeah you know they could have had some sort of decal in there well if he's sitting there they could have just had him on a stage on the boat yeah on his boat you know on his floating boat so yeah You know, there was just nothing there. And then you've got the hyperspace... Yep, multiball bit. Jump, you know, it's like, yeah. Yep. Yeah. They've got, I didn't mind the two pop bumpers, so they've got the pop bumpers left and right now just above the sling, so there's two pops. They don't have the typical cluster, and I believe those pops go towards some sort of code or scoring or rewards or something like that. So they've tried to integrate them a little bit different. So once again, it just looks like they're trying to do a little bit different with the pops in the Sterns. Like, obviously, Elwin was, I think, the first one from Stern. But Godzilla. Yeah, Godzilla, where he did that singular pop. So they followed on there as well. And then X-Men had it with Danger, if you remember, as well. So I know Spooky did it with Rick and Morty, but that's why I said specifically Stern. And my last gripe, sorry, George, is LE at 770. 770 LEs. Now, they wanted to do a homage to when it was released in 1977. Yep. How does 770 equate to that? You're either doing 77, you're either doing 977, or you're doing 1,977. What do you reckon? They need to go back to doing the 500, and if they want to do a Super League sure, $250 $20 or $30 no, I didn't like that personally look, I take that back I didn't mind it, I didn't like what they did with Batman, that was bullshit but I just think $770 is too many you want to bring that back to $500 as I said, if they're trying to make it a limited edition $500 or $780 but Spookys aren't limited editions they do one and then they have a butter cabinet option. But they just do one. So if you're going to do a limited, you know, in this, specifically for Stern, because they do pro premium and LE, other manufacturers like Jersey Jack, they do founders of LEs, but they do 500 of their collector's editions or however many of those. Except for the Harry Potter. So how many Harry Potters are there? Which is unlimited. Well, you don't know. Oh, the collector's unlimited run this time around. Which, again, that's a bit of an irk. But, yeah, I just think 770 LEs, what are you doing? Where does that number come from? Yeah, I don't know where the number comes from. From accounts. Yeah. Accounting. More than likely. That's where it's come from. More than likely. So the LEs are not sold out, am I right? No. Well, the AMD's page still says they're available. Yeah, well, that's why. Oh, yeah, look, if someone's saying they're sold out, they're sold out on 6L, they're not on AMD's page. They're still available. Yeah, for $21,950, I think it is. Yeah, correct, yeah. Has the price stayed the same to the last one? Yeah, it's changed. No, it stayed the same this time. There's still a lot of coin, though. My honest opinion, though, is, okay, just say for a premium, if I'm spending $15,950, I think it is now, for one of them, I'd much prefer to go buy myself a Harry Potter wizard for the same sort of price. I'd look at the bank for buck you're going to get in that type of machine opposed to this. Dude, don't they just range the premiums in L.A.? Like, if you've got pregnant L.A. and a C.E. or whatever you want to call them, right, they've got to play different. The only way you're going to hold some value. So if you've got an LE over a premium, you've got to have something... With the Jersey Jack when they had the Guns N' Roses, it had that extra ball block, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's got to have something different that you don't... I mean, you're paying extra, yeah, for side rails and a topper and this and that, but I really believe if you had something different in the game... Something special. Yeah, 100%. Yeah. Am I right? I agree. Because it's a big dollars in between the models. Five grand minimum. I mean, the one I think of that always comes to mind is Tron, you know, that they had between the Pro and the LE there. You know, Tron had a different multiball, a Daft Punk multiball. Yeah, yeah. And they had the stand-ups that are dropped down. The Recognizer. And the moving Recognizer and a few small things like that. The EL wire. Yeah, yeah. You know, the optic fibers that were brilliant. So, yeah, I would agree with you there. And not make it 770. Yeah. So, your thoughts on Star Wars, George? what are you any everything you guys said I'm going to agree to disagree on some of them yeah that's alright that's what it's that's nice and easy okay but what do you think about the um the Death Star problem is I have to say oh you are very much no because I'll tell you why years ago I made a decision on a machine from the height mm-hmm you know what I'm saying it was great guns and roses I'm not going to say what it was right and it was shit and then um pardon the pun right and then I've gone the opposite way. I've heard something that's really shit and then I've gone and played it and our family loved it. They were one of the best machines they've ever played. He's talking about Toy Story now. What I'm talking about is from now on some people will say it something's good just to But I think that's the beauty of this hobby though. Agreed but is the differing of opinions are just that they're just opinions. That's what I'm saying I can't make an opinion until I sit down and I play it. I know people that love the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Stern and I think it is a heap of shit. It is one of the worst machines I've played, but there are people out there that love it and that's good. I don't walk up to them and go, oh, you're fucking wrong. That's okay. They bought it. Matt owns it because of the nostalgia it gave him. And I thought it was going to be a good game. Yeah, so that's okay. And the same goes with not just new release Sterns, but any... Adam's family, everyone raves. I don't see what's in Adam's family, but everyone loves it. Okay, that's fine. You know what, I played Adam's family for the first time two weeks ago. Yeah, there you go. Wow. I loved it. Yeah, see? I was in that tournament with Lucas. Yep. I really loved it. And that's great. And that's exactly right, and that's why I think, you know, regardless of what people say, you can still decide to go out and wait and play it, or... You need to get him in. This is why... Yeah, we need to get him sooner. This is why we, you know, look, anyone that we can get a pinball from, we'll fly it in. And with Predator, if they can't get it in earlier, we're going to put it into general public so people can go and play after that. You know, nice and easy. Ben will organise it. They'll go in there. They can go and play it. We can get it to the X-Pro. Yep. And people can sell it. It's like they can make their own decision. Yeah, agreed. It'll be the same with any other games I can get my hand on. So. Yeah. Quickly, going back to Star Wars anyway, I'm not telling anyone not to buy the machine. I'm not saying it's a piece of shit. because obviously I haven't played one. But it's just my thoughts, my opinion, just what I think. Yeah, I agree. For what I can see, you know. Look, I might play and go, fuck, that's amazing. But I just have my doubts. See, I like the previous Star Wars. The books, 2017, fantastic. And everyone rags all over it. I really enjoy it. What an amazing machine. What a great, and it's a good, fast machine. It's brutal. And actually, you know what? Actually, I've seen a lot of people in the comments. They've been saying this new Star Wars, it's approachable by everyone. Yeah. Well, I don't think any machine's approachable. I think every machine's beautiful, and I don't understand why there'd be any hesitation or anxiety to play a pinball. Yeah. Like, it's made to have fun. Yep. So the word of being approachable, I just don't... It doesn't make sense. Yeah, I don't really get it, so... Yep, agreed. Spike 3 has been released as well. I don't know much about him. I've just heard it's just... It's quite a power supply, pretty much. It gives him a larger screen. Yep. It's got a larger screen. Yep. upgraded speakers which everyone already did anyway and I mean this is funny because I just AI'd this and increased playfield functionality for more LEDs and flashes and supports online features well I think the previous one was supported online so AI may need a bit of an upgrade itself and how many more bloody lights do we need in the playfield agreed we already have the line to buy off them don't we we do ok so that's Star Wars Yep Emails? We had a couple So the email we got was from Jim Jim Bond He would like to become a member of the Pinball Auswide Facebook group How may I do that? When I click on your link, it's locked My profile name is Jim Bond with a saxophone as an icon Jim, thanks for the email mate Just answer the questions and we will accept it So it's blocked because it's a private group we've made it private because there are people in the group that probably have, some of them have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of machines that don't want the public to see. So it's a private group for a reason. And we keep people safe. And we keep it safe that way. And it also helps us with scammers and spammers because we can vet the profiles first and that's why. So it's a private group. It's not locked. It's just private. So it's a safe space for everyone for Bimble. It's a safe space. We also got, this is kind of funny, Jess from a podcast consultant from Pod Machine. We've made big time here. Jesus Christ, mate. Monetizing. Here we come, baby. We have made the big time, George. This is not for you. This is just me and Matt. You're a guest. Okay. This doesn't include you. Hi. I'm Jess from Pod Machine. We help podcasters streamline their production process by handling all the post-editing, sound design and technical work so they can focus on creating great content. I came across your podcast while browsing through shows in your category, and I wanted to reach out in case you've ever thought about outsourcing the editing. Oh, hang on, outsourcing. She's saying you're doing a shit job, Gary. Yeah, pretty much. And she wants to get paid for it, too. Of course she does. Outsourcing the editing side of things. Here are a few we've worked with, which are just fucking no idea, mortgage brokers and whatnot. We'd love to learn more about your current process and see how we can help you level up your podcast. Please pick a time that works best for you here. And she's given us a link. Now, Jess, appreciate it. No, thanks. Yeah, I think I've got my mate who does a good job. The other one, which I don't know if it was legit or not, is I think we almost got hacked. we received a request to access your google account pimble oswalt at hotmail.com through your email address your google verification code is if you did not request request this code it is possible that someone else is trying to so that was really weird and then like it said actually the recovery email was changed which is a personal email of mine that i've got to so i was like ah that is interesting no no it happens with even with Facebook we do a lot of advertising and they're just fake spam oh you've breached copyright we're going to see you've used this song for two minutes yeah it goes for 30 seconds yeah so you know you've just got to be aware of them and just click on them I didn't I didn't at all I actually just signed back into the account re-changed the email just in case and then just moved on I was like done and dusted So anyway, do we have an admin rant this month? Do you have an admin rant? Well, I'd say do we. I don't have anything. I don't think. I have one. I'm fucking getting sick and tired of these people putting up fucking cars, petrol bouts, silicon things. You know, guys, the pages, and I'm going to put a post up. Oh, the page. Yeah. I just get sick of it. And you've probably not noticed the membership is going down because I'm just booting them. I'm not blocking them, but I'm just removing them from the page because some of them haven't made a post in three years or whatever it is. It's like, see you later. Don't share it to my page. No one cares. And it is specifically for pinball, guys. I know it sounds a bit sort of anal, but we don't have jukeboxes. We don't have one-armed banders. We don't have arcade machines. It is specific pinball. It's called Pinball Auswide for a reason. if you want arcade stuff go to our arcade sister page which you'll find at the top of the Facebook page which is Arcade Australia wide I think so that's my little rant I'm just I'm getting a bit annoyed by that and you got me here as well to delete them too luckily very luckily I think for the last month or so we've been pretty with our scammers like there hasn't been any like accounts that look like scammers trying to do the page. It would be pretty quiet. There was one on, which I don't know if you know or saw, there was one on Gumtree that there's a post of a guy, and I think it's these people back in Tasmania again. So if you're looking to purchase a machine from Tasmania, just post on the page or be careful or speak to the mafia guys there if they're available. This guy sent a deposit for a Metallica pinball, and it's on Gumtree. It's actually on the front page of Gumtree, so you should be able to just click directly on the picture. It looks like it was a legit setup, but the guy just fell for it. And the reason he fell for it is because he was offered a $6,500 premium Metallica. There you go. So while we talk about, and this is probably the reason why we do our price watch as part of the segment, George, is so that people get an understanding of where these prices are so that when you see a $6,500 Metallica pinball machine that's a premium machine, you know it's bullshit because those sort of prices are sitting where we discussed they're sitting at. He sent a $500 deposit and lost it. But the guy sent photos of machines packed on pallets and all the rest of it that he just ripped from some American site that had done that. So he took their photos, showed him these photos, obviously had a dodgy driver's license, showed him the license and all that sort of stuff. Just be aware, shit still goes on, guys. Just please be careful. I don't mind the posts when they appear, people asking the questions, so hopefully members are respectful in their answers, which generally they have been. But, yeah, just be careful still. That's right. Just be careful. Thanks, Jared. We appreciate that. I try. And you've been, mate. That's right, buddy. That worries me. Well, that about wraps it up, doesn't it, mate? That about wraps it up, George. Appreciate you joining us, mate. I hope you had a bit of fun. Thank you for having us. Yeah, pleasure. I hope everything's going well moving forward with the Expo. Yeah, I'm a little proud of seeing you there, mate. Yeah, well, obviously. You'll be seeing me before that. Oh, I'm sorry. You're going to give me a camera, aren't you? Yeah, sorry. Yeah, you know what I mean. I was just leading into that, so we'll obviously see you for the giveaway for some tickets to the Expo, which is always nice. Yeah, and thank you all for listening to this podcast. and hopefully made it all the way to the end so you can get these thanks in person. That's it. Thank you, boys. Thanks for showing up, mate. It's been a long time, mate. Stay tuned for the bloopers. Thanks, guys. Thanks. Cheers. Enjoy. I'm going to put it you're having a piss because you wore the microphone into the toilet you can do that the ball save is Yoda's eyes Yeah, see, I know. Fuck me, mate. Get rid of that shit. That'd be horrendous. This is George here. You'll never look at that game the same. Oh, this poke voice held out to him.
