Through the stream, I've actually become good friends with them. So they're fun to talk to on and offline. They admit they suck at pinball, which I suck at pinball. So that really, really makes it close to my heart. And I also like the fact that they are going to be honest with you on a game. They're not just like, oh, this stream is sponsored by this pinball manufacturer and their games are the best ever. That's true. They're going to tell you, you know, hey, this game's OK. Or I really like this game, even though a lot of people don't like they're just they're real about it. And I know that BD and Bill and court, they all love Popeye so much. So, you know, that they're not, they're pushing Popeye. I am still waiting for you to get that Popeye up there so that they can take it out on the boat. Cause you know, BD said he'd play it on the boat, whether it falls over or not is another story. I need to. So, uh, I, what I hate in pinball podcasting is the, how did you get into pinball? Did you play? I hate that shit. So we're going to do a really fast version. Not that you're not interesting, Amanda. You are. That's why you're on here. But I just, quite frankly, don't give a shit about what got you into pinball. But how long have you been into pinball? And one sentence on how in the hell and why you got into pinball. We've been into pinball for about two and a half years now. And I got into it because I married a man child. I was going to say, weed. You got a mouse in your pocket there? Well, my husband is the one who started this crap. so it's his fault that I'm now addicted. Shout out to Morg. Yeah. What's he doing right now? I'd love to hear this. Oh, he is probably playing video games when he's supposed to be throwing some mods on my Wizard of Oz. Oh. What kind of mods did you get? The most recent ones, we have the light kit for the forest and we have the trough light and backlight that needs to be installed. God, you have been, you were a hassle in my ass for over a year to get and find you a Wizard of Oz. I came up short because I could never find one, but you finally found one. We did. We found the, potentially the last new in box yellow brick road for sale in the country. Holy schnurks. Yeah. So that game's been around. It went from Jersey out to Anaheim, California and back to Florida. And that was a graduation slash anniversary gift that will probably be held over my head for the next six years as an anniversary gift. That's no shit. You have to pay full price then on it, I guess. They didn't jack up the price, did they? No, he wanted it gone. Okay. He wanted it out of there. It had been sitting on a shelf, and honestly, it plays like it's been sitting in a box for two years. There's some quirks. There's some things that had to be adjusted. Well, that's Wizard of Oz. Yeah, exactly. And that's pinball. So which version is it? You're going to have to do it. It's a yellow brick road.

    It's so crazy. give shit about the yellow brick robe i'm telling you listener that's the one i think that's the one i'd get i didn't care at that point i've always wanted that game anybody who has ever been on any stream with me where we've talked about them um they will know i want a yellow brick road or i wanted a wizard of oz i didn't care emerald city ruby red yellow brick road you could probably draw a picture on some cardboard and slap it on top of another football machine and i'd be like yay I got Wizard of Oz but I love it I don't miss the monkey mechanism I've loved it since I was a kid oh the film? yeah I've loved the film I've loved just the whole premise behind it I think that it was groundbreaking at that time that they went from black and white to color as I got older I loved to put the Wizard of Oz up against Dark Side of the Moon because I also love Pink Floyd so you know the fact that my favorite band and my favorite movie merged was really cool we got a hippie among us people I don't know about a hippie, but it's definitely something cool if you haven't tried it. It's just something that's always resonated with me. And that light show. Come on. It's so pretty. But what's up with the, you're like a stagnant monkey, I guess. You know, it's fine. It's fine. No moving monkey over there. What else was different about that thing? I forget. There's something else that, no moving monkey. something with the castle or the gate up top, I thought. I know that there's no tornado in the other ones. You have to get the tornado in the other ones, don't you? Oh, maybe.

I have a close friend who decided to take his Wizard of Oz back down to its beauty that was initially purchased so he gave he sold me all of his mods so we have the um the uh sign that goes over oh that's nice yeah oh yeah oh yeah we have the flickering um state fair we have the upgraded crystal ball with the witch the witch witch which one the witch which we have the coveted one that is no longer available oh the um oh yeah um what's his name uh uh uh lermont lermont is it I thought it was guacamole. That guacamole or guava juice, whatever. Yeah, we'll go with one of those. You know, it's, yeah, something like that. But I have the witch that is no longer made. And, yeah, so it's been fun. It's been a lot of fun. My snooty ass likes Yellow Brick Road. This is why I like it more than any. I think it's the most beautiful-ish.

    But for me, it's the damn new cabinet. That's what I like the most. Yes. If I sit next to a GNR, if I sit next to a Wonka, the cabinet matches up. It bugged the piss out of me, listener, when I would have a Hobbit sitting next to a GNR because the cabinets are different. It's that dialed in, changed it, Pat Lawler new system, and I hate that the heads don't match up and it sits a little bit different depth-wise on the head. So that's the one I'd go with. Good call. And it's sitting next to a Wonka, so, I mean, it would work out aesthetically for you. You didn't get Wonka for me either. What the fuck? Well, I mean. Give a shout out to the person that gave you the Yellow Brick Road was a dealer, right? It was. And honestly, I did not know. I apologize. I can't tell you who we got it from because I was not involved in this. This was literally a surprise of, hey, by the way, congratulations. Your Yellow Brick Road will be here at whatever time. And I'm like, I'm sorry, you're getting me a what? Man, I'm going to have you co-host every week because you're unwilling to throw out other dealers. Give a shout out. Thank you. Sorry, other dealer.     Hi, this is Ken Rudberg with your Jersey Jack update. As Jersey Jack Pinball continues to push Guns N' Roses' elite down the line and out the door, many customers are finding that their long wait is over. This means that a slew of new Wi-Fi-enabled pinball machines are in people's homes, and this bodes well for Scorbit, the company that connects pinball machines to the Internet. Scorbit, if you'll remember, is on any Jersey Jack pinball machine with Wi-Fi enabled and came online last November. They also just released a major update, which includes something called Scorebit Vision. It's a package of web-based tools that allow development of leaderboards, live scoreboards, and streaming views, and is designed for large screens for arcades and game rooms. This newest version also includes better integration with streaming and lots of new options for leaderboards. For example, you can track scores at a single location, or you could look at a global leaderboard for a particular game. This is great news as it really expands the possibilities for Jersey Jock machines. And it does it in a way that brings the pinball community together and has the potential to get these machines in front of more people, which I think is a win-win.     Hello and welcome to the Pinball Show's Stern News Update. I'm Craig Bobby. So how slow is the news right now out there? Well, it's so slow, the U.S. government just called and said they think they can have everyone vaccinated in the USA, Mexico, and Canada before the next new pinball title is released. Now, it should be noted that the government thought the pinball died with President Nixon, so it's not what I would call on anyone's radar over at the White House at the moment. But don't tell the Stern coders things are slow, because the code train just keeps on rolling down those tracks. This week was Stern's latest rock pin, Led Zeppelin, with code V1.02 for the Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models. I think this update was mainly about fixing an issue which could cause a game to get stuck in a reboot loop. Of course, the reboot loop is much like the hot tub time machine loop, and we all know how that movie ended, with a Brian Eddy Back to the Future pinball machine with callouts by Michael J. Fox himself?

Yes, it seems parts and manufacturing delays are plaguing CGC and many other companies, and what right now would be the perfect time to release a game... You blew it! Unfortunately, no new games to be had, as everyone waits for the next Stern release, and the slow trickle of GNRs out of JJP. We know that the next game is likely a Cactus Canyon remake, a Mark Ritchie design in the mix, a Dennis Nordman design, and Ben Heck's game towards the end of the line. Is CGC waiting to release all four games next year in a giant Deep Root-style assault on the industry? I guess taking a page out of Craig Bobby's book, we'll have to wait and see.

There's a casting call for the Shoopies. I love that they're running with my trademarked title name, Shoopies. The Stern Heads Up Pinball Invitational. They're doing a casting call on the Shoopies. Listener, what that means is I sell on the IFPA that they're calling all pinheads, flippers, and pinball enthusiasts of all ages and genders. Now, heads up invitational before for Stern Pinball was very much Chicago-based people. Sometimes they were Stern-contracted employees, sometimes great friends of Stern employees. So they were a set group of people that were doing these things. Now they're reaching out and expanding the horizons when it comes to who's going to participate in these upcoming shoopies. Thank you for calling it shoopy. I love it. So there are submission guidelines if you want to enter into the contest. first you get to do a batman 66 super le three to five minute video i'm joking but you do have to do a video three to five minutes in length no need to edit or add music we're just looking for your personality to come through uh important at the beginning of the tape like a prisoner hold up a piece of paper that can be easily read through the camera with the following information your name so go to the ifpa pinball.com and submit for the upcoming shoopy i will say that it looks like on Stern's website, you can also enter that way as well.     Also in the news here at Stern Pinball, new code for Led Zeppelin version 1.02. Cleaning it up a little bit. Have you been able to play any Led Zeppelin yet, Amanda? I have not. I have not been on location to play anything fun in quite a while. so there's Florida I thought you guys quit the whole COVID thing a year ago or something just because Florida does things does not mean that Amanda does things yeah no I really really really like my lungs and hope that they continue to work efficiently without the help of a ventilator and also I've seen some of those ICU nurses and I've probably pissed them off at one point or another so you know I don't want them to use the bigger needle Nope. No, shout out to our nurses. They're phenomenal. But we have not been on location. Part of it, too, is, again, time. But I do have it on my list. The game looks phenomenal. Yeah, do you like the looks of it? Is it a theme that screams to your mic Or is this something that you could see yourself owning Or is this a pass for you I need to play it I love Led Zeppelin as well They one of my favorite bands I love that whole genre of music I get nervous with music pinball machines. Sure. Because at some point, you can only listen to the same song over and over and over again so many times. But, I mean, I've been listening to those same Zeppelin songs since I was six years old. So, I'm not tired of them yet. When we first saw it, I didn't love it. I think part of that, too, was the fact that GNR had just come out right before and the hype with that. And, I mean, GNR is such a beautiful game, trying to compare the two of them, which wasn't fair to either of them. But now that I've seen gameplay on it, I want to get my hands on it. Don't know if we don't, but I do want to get my hands on it and put some time on it because it looks really cool. Absolutely. Have you guys owned a music-based pinball machine? No. I would love to get a Beatles. I was voted down on that one.

Now, Kaneda is typically about as accurate as a drunk meteorologist, but we're going to roll for shits and giggles here on some of the stuff that he's been talking about. Kaneda indicated that the next title by Stern Pinball is not a film, and it's not a music-based pinball machine. Hmm. Okay. He indicates that the license is ginormous. It's huge. It's a big-ass license that everybody's going to want. Man, Hype Train has left the station. Yeah. It's kind of indicated that it's a television series. and tried to confirm if he is right about the title, that it is not Mortal Kombat, nor is it Godzilla yet.

Did you hear about this? I did not. Yeah, it was a big one. It happened up in Wisconsin, I believe, District 82. who Tom Graff, TPN, and Fox Cities Pinball puts on. He's like leading the way when it comes to these competition and Thorin up there, but leading the way when it comes to streaming, broadcasting, these pinball tournaments. They had a Penskins tournament. I think I was watching a lot of it. I know that the, spoiler alert here, the first round, I don't know if it was Classics, but Eric Thorin, I believe, won that. Elwin came in second. Keith Elwin and Ray Day went up there. And Travis Meary, my sweet, sweet baby Travis Meary from Oklahoma. Travis Meary got third in that target match play, the big one there. TPN's very own Ray Day takes home the win over Keith Elwin. Congratulations. Elwin got second in that one, I believe. Third, oh, who got third on that one? I don't know who took home third. My bad. I will say, though, another strong showing by Jane Verwis. Damn it, Jane.

I love to see everybody being able to get back together to do it. I think it's phenomenal. At one point, we had three of my freaking favorite people in front of the camera. I just liked watching the festivities unroll. Tom Graff might be the sweetest human being in existence, so I'm always rooting for him. I'm always rooting for Ray Day because it's Ray Day. And Travis Murie's awesome, too. I like watching Keith Elwin play. I like watching Jane. She's an ass kicker, too. So it's tough for me to pick. And Rachel Lilge, a new podcaster. And if that wasn't enough for you, only at TPN does Scott Denise come in and alter the code of Tron Legacy so that it mocks Fliptronic as they are playing. that was unbelievable it even rigged rolled their asses during the wizard mode come on this is gold right here I mean where else can you get this type of entertainment and let face it george is a phenomenal person to watch anyways so anytime we get to watch him not only play an awesome game but also get his ass picked on yeah that perfect and nowhere else are you going to get not one jordan not one becca but a pair of jordans a pair of beccas and they're the best in the business fox city's pinball i talked about it earlier but tom graff is the kindest, most gentle dentist that you'll ever put in the chair of. I don't know, maybe he's rough when it comes to teeth, but when it comes to streams, he's a joy to watch. He brings everything tournament-based, and he's proud to represent that TP in there. So I love Fox that he's pinballing all of the things that they're truly doing for pinball. Kind of a bias to training up, but hey, if the numbers back it up and they don't lie, I'm only reporting the facts. And last but not least, training up this week is a special kid. There's a gentleman, a fan of the pinball show that emailed us and that he listens, gosh, this is probably a bad idea, but listens with his child this show. And his child is in love with pinball margatrends. So much so that the child oftentimes throughout the day will just scream out, bye, bye, bye! And I fell in love, love with this little guy. I do like the fact that you can have it in grown-up mode or adolescent mode. I don't want to call it a kid mode because that game should not be played around small children that are impressionable. Well, I mean, we let our kid play Grand Theft Auto because she likes to drive the cars. Oh, I'm not judging. I'm super guilty. My kids are TikToking and everything else that disgusts me, but go on. Yeah, you know, so you do what you have to do to keep them out of your hair so you have five minutes of sanity. It's fun. Preach. But at the same time, you think about it, Stranger Things trended down for a while, too, and now look at how hot that is. So I think that Rick and Morty will come back up. Okay, and it could. I'm going to call it a premonition. Let's see. I like it. I like you throwing it out there. and you could be right. You could be right. Right now though, Rick and Morty, if you're wanting to buy it now is probably the time. I think that when they announce the next one, if it is a big title, if it is a quick seller, then you're going to see this Rick and Morty drop probably a little bit more. But as more of those new games have shipped, you'll see the Wonka effect where it'll start trending up. You'll see what Hammy was referring to, the Stranger Things effect, where you'll start to see it go back up. I've heard a lot of fun stuff about it but I have not played it yet. What a fun shooter. Code can like any other 90s code gets a little old after a while. But Congo, I've seen a handful of them up on the marketplace right now, so that's never a great sign on secondary sales. But Congo, upper fours, mid fives for a nice, decent Congo. Restored, you're going to see them skyrocket, but I'd like to get me a restored Congo. But right now, as I'm looking for one personally, I've seen the pattern of secondary sales, and they are just merely holding steady. They're not going up like a lot of these other pens are. Let me ask you then, At that point in time, you're saying, you know, 90s code, not the greatest fun shooter. Which would you rather have? A good code or a good code and a good theme that's a crappy shooter? Or a good shooter that is a crappy code and a crappy theme? And I'm asking you this because you like Popeye, so. Oh, wow. It's a hell of a fun game to shoot though. I will walk up and play that one all the time. There's other games like TNA is not necessarily the most fun shooter. That game is pretty basic. It's not the best. Yeah, but you know it's a fun game. So it's interesting to see where people stand on that if you're buying a game and you're buying it especially sight unseen, you're usually doing it for the theme. Yes, absolutely. I still I can't get you saying you don't like the Ghostbusters theme. I don't. We'll probably end up getting one at some point, too, because he loves it. But I grew up watching it. I love the movies.
