Now who's respon- I say who's responsible for this unwarranted attack on my person? I say, I say, I say, pay attention now boy, this is, of course, Foghorn Leghorn presents the Pinball Junk Drawer. You all asked for it, I say, I say, you all asked for it, now you're gonna get it. And boy oh boy are you gonna get it. Go away, I say go away boy, you bother me. And we're back it's time for the one and only pinball junk drawer big show 55 we can't drive 55 the only pinball podcast that comes ill prepared for its own show anyway my name is Foghorn Leghorn with me as always craft Bruce Alley yes and that's an inside joke that you'll figure out later in the show what do we got going on this week got some exciting stuff to talk about more info on the pinball expo The Little bit. That's exciting. We got the Stern released like the Uncanny X-Men from Stern and then the JJP countered with their Avatar teaser and then they put out a video. I have to ask a question. Sure. Go ahead. Okay. So Avatar was a movie released in what? Like 1983. I don't know. Something like that. It's 1983 but... Rough math. But yeah. They had teased up hair and they were, you know. All the good times. Oh Aqua Ned, I miss you. Back when I had cartilage in my knees. It was crazy times for everybody. Alright. I just don't understand why Avatar is a thing again. Like... Then there hasn't been a new movie, right? No, there was a new one. Oh there was? It was like Way of the Water and then they're gonna do... Oh. See, I think Cameron watched that Fifth Element and he was like, those stones at the end, he's like, dude I could do a blue guy-ish movie with a blue guy. Oh. That's a good one. That's a good one. That's a good one. That's a good one. I think Cameron watched that Fifth Element and he was like those stones at the end. He's like, dude, I could do a blue guy-ish movie with those stones. Okay. And then the very last stone's going to be fire and Chris is going to be going, I have my cup and cup and cup. I have my match cup and I have my match. So I don't smoke, Corbin. So but then he's going to like, so he's like, this one's water and then the next one's going to be, you know, whatever, like, you know, like the desert world from Mario. I didn't know. Run. Run really fast away from it. Like, yeah, like the first one was like, wow, this is pretty cool. Because it had the 3D, it was three dimensional, you're like, ooh, you know, look at this. And then... But though it was like... It was like 20 years ago. Right. And then like Disney redid like one of the lands with all of that, with like the Avatar stuff. And I was like, huh. Now they're trying to relaunch Avatar Mania running wild on you, brother. I don't think it's gonna work. I don't... Okay, all right. I don't care. I don't remember the movie that well. I think I only watched it once. Government sector United States Department of International Affairs technology and 15 many other parties on yourlockYes you can watch that movie again and see if we miss something I'm not sure if you're going to be playing the first time around. I know there's a pinball, there's already an avatar pinball machine so I was kind of like, oh we're just redoing, we're going into the Hollywood method. Oh yeah. Now pinball companies are just going to remake the old shit. They're just going to keep remaking it over and over again. They're like, hey look at this. So there's already an avatar pinball machine? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I mean it didn't, like I played it once, it was in like this tournament I was in. And I was like, this is weird. And some guy scored like a billion because he knew how to do it. And then everyone else was just like, ah, this game isn't very fun at all. I mean, I don't know if the game's fun or not. I had like two times on it, so I can't like... Was it the same Avatar movie? The first one. Based on the movie? Yeah, based on... Well, yeah. Huh. Yeah. You know. And then soon they're going to be... Yeah, soon they're going to just be remaking those old wood rails. They're going to be like, hey, look at this. This one's about an elevator. Isn't that exciting? Elevators, remember those? Come on down to the city. They're going to be like, this time... And the back glass is going to move, and you're going to be like, wow, this is fun. Tim Tim Kitzrow, Scott Danesi, Tim Tim Kitzrow, Tim Tim Kitzrow, Scott Danesi, Tim Tim Kitzrow, It's really JJP, you know, like a lot of lights and a lot of just, bah, look at all the lights and there's, it's like a lot of blue, it's really blue, you know. Yeah, that makes sense. As it should be. Uh huh. You know, and it, but it's just like, and then there's like an under, there's like a, a, a, submerged, uh, playfield. Oh, okay. And then there's, I don't know, like, like I know that they did the video for the, uh, Uncanny X-Men and I, I don't really have any interest, I mean, I don't dislike the X-Men, I'm like most people where I'm like, hey, whatever, you know, Wolverine or something. And then there's a bald dude and there's a guy that moves metal around. But then this guy is like, this is about the Sentinels. But is Wolverine on the game? If not, he's going to be- Asking for a friend. If not, he's going to be the first mod everyone's going to make. Here's the new Wolf Jackman. I call him Wolf Jackman. Shirtless. Here's a new Wolf Jackman for your wife so she'll let you buy this machine. And then they'll send you like a little like stuff to put on him like a little loincloth to put around his junk and his little metal whatever's. And you're like, yeah, all right, now he's covered up. My wife's not around anymore. I'm gonna cover that up so I don't feel so uncomfortable around nude Hugh Jackman. And I can play the Uncanny X-Men. Yeah. I don't know, like it's so popular and it is, I guess it's a very long-running great comic book. John Papadiuk, Bob Betor, The Valley Company, Subsidiary of Walter Kidde & Co., Inc., Mirco Playfields, Tim Tim Kitzrow, Scott Danesi. I'm playing them, playing them, usually. So I never put that much time into them, you know. This one looks cool. They got some really neat stuff. Jack Danger is the designer and he's got some crazy stuff going on. Like the wire form that bends with the sentinels hands. So it looks like they like embracing the X like ooh the powers you know the magnets floating stuff around And then I guess there an out across the bottom instead of the craft brew drain I guess there like this It like the X training facility So you can feel good for a second before it drains again. Like, you're like, yay! Aw, it drained again. Aw, X-Men trainee. X-Men drain-y. Aw. So it's gonna like it's gonna go in there and be like yay and it'll drain again you'll be like oh that's sad. Is it like does it like put so the out lane that you got you got craft brew salad lane Yes. Goes into like another where another flipper is or? I don't know like another realm kinda. Oh. I don't know I'm just making that part up but I know there is another thing back there I didn't like watch it that much because I was like I don't really think I'm gonna play at Expo hopefully. Yeah hopefully. The Craft Brew Sally always gets craft brew Sally now you'll have to explain what that means. Oh, yeah, I Always lose my ball in the outlanes. It doesn't go down the center It's always that just where you can't you can't save it. You see the left one. Yeah, like kinda I don't know so there was a No little precursor. There was a bit of sadness in my life regarding pinball this week Statements drove're holdin' shop on Friday May 24 at basspo.com. Thanks for tuning in! Matt 저도, Dan Tre tokula, John Popadiuk, Bob Betor, Knapp Arcade, Hez reward ואׄ Former New York Joanne C youtube Bio DAbари, rhythmic gymnastics and cellophane, Initially I had this topper I was building. I'm building it's like got a couple layers going on it looks good. I had originally made the background in chrome like that chrome spray paint, but then it started like chipping off so I stripped that and then I put made that white and then we put a we made like a die-cut sticker of like the Tokyo skyline with... We cut it out with a cricket. With a cricket, you know. So we have the Tokyo skyline on the white metal with and I put some alien ships on it because that's the theme of Godzilla. The Pinball Machine And then like I put us I put some LEDs across the bottom that are wired to go into it and then I have a Like the rising Sun in plexiglass and now I've started to start to assemble it. I just I'm missing one piece I got to get someone to 3d printed I know a promi had said he can His new 3d printer is all that and a bag of potato chips So I might reach out to him and say hey, can you just please get this done? I mean, what do you need the Sky Tower? John Popadiuk, Bob Betor, Keith Elwin, Laser Los, Bowen Kerins, Larry K. K. K. I only have two other things. First one was going to be that strictly custom pinball. They had a Mad Voodoo, they're the ones that made the Dukes of Hazzard machine. Remember seeing that one? The Dukes of Hazzard, like a custom one-off machine. It was really gorgeous. It was really, really nice. So they put out a teaser that they're making Death Race 2000. Oh, man. I know. And that's like, that is, now people think I'm joking, but that's like, that's in my top three. Usually like any time of the day, it could be Godzilla, the first Godzilla, Death Race 2000, or the Day the Earth Stood Still, the original one from the 54. Your favorite movies you're talking about. Yes, of all time. Like so, and those three kind of are fluid. Like one day I'll say, oh, I love Death Race 2000, it's my number one movie. And then some days it's Godzilla. It's, I mean, Godzilla is usually number one, but the other two kind of flip flop a lot. So when I saw that I was like, oh that is so awesome. I don't think they believe me that I really love that movie because most people say that but I don't think they could say it word for word like I do. Oh and he can. I had it on VHS, wore that out, had it on a second VHS, bought it on DVD, bought it on a second DVD, then I got it on Blu-ray. I've had it every single iteration however you could have it. I've had and I've watched it. At least one of each. Yeah, that's one of those I usually watch once a year. Sometimes twice a year, but you know. All of that, you know, it's just one of a great movie. So I was really excited about that. I don't think it has mass appeal though. Yeah. Like cars. There's like two IPs floating around out there that I think would be greatest pinball car things ever, you know, and it will be the Fast and the Furious franchise and then Speed Racer. Fast and the Furious, it's all about family. Yeah, family except familiar. Right. The Valley Company, Subsidiary of Walter Kidde & Co., Inc., Mirco Playfields, Tim Tim Kitzrow, Scott Danesi. Like I love Speed Racer so I think that would be the greatest pinball machine ever I think of those two you would have to go with Speed Racer over Fast and the Furious Well I don know but Fast and the Furious they up to 20 of them Yeah, but how do you just pick some stuff to put in? It's the Harry Potter thing. Right. Like if it's that massive Yeah, what are you gonna do? Mm-hmm, you know, right? Yeah, that's a good point. I know I think like Fast and the Furious would have more broader appeal like The Yeah, Current, I guess so. Younger folks, you know. Everyone's always saying we should get younger people in this, in this hobby, and then. Maybe they should learn what Speed Racer is. I think too. But what are you gonna do? Right. So I don't know, like when I said, but I will have to, I hope that they're at Expo, because I will definitely chew their ear about a couple things about their artwork. You said Strictly Pinball? Well, Strictly Custom Pinball was the site on Facebook, but I think it's Mad Voodoo is the maker. They're the ones that did it. They might be with Skater Glen. They might have the Dukes of Hazzard with the Saw group. But Dukes of Hazzard's been kicking around a while. It's not like a new one, but I think it still makes the major shows, I'm pretty sure, because it is really gorgeous. So we'll see. You never know. Then I'll tell them exactly why I should be in on the project, at least for the art for the Death Race 2000, because I already saw a couple things that didn't quite stack up. They have a supercharger on Frankenstein's car. It's on the front, but that's rear engine car, so that's wrong. And they have a grenade on the thing, but it's not a hand grenade shaped like a hand, so that's wrong. I think AI might have made the artwork and I can definitely make a better version as I'm a graphic artist and I know that movie, every frame of it. So, there you go. They'll be like, oh no, I want this guy banned. They're gonna call security, they're gonna have me banned from the Mad Voodoo site. Maybe not though. So if you're listening from Mad Voodoo, go ahead and email us. Pinballjd at gmail.com if you have questions about the movie. The Actors, or their roles, or how they felt about it, or Roger Corman, or well basically any single thing, any single frame of that movie that you dissected for any reason, you let me know. Sad but true. And then I guess the last thing for our show, I know it might go a little long, there was a death in the pinball family for me this week. There was. And it was pretty hinky. It was very sad. John Popadiuk, Bob Betor, Knapp Arcade, And then one day I woke up, I did it Saturday before we went to meet my sister. We went to a supper club here in Wisconsin, which is like the most Wisconsin thing you can do. If you have a cheese head hat and you're having an old fashioned, that is, you literally become a fabric of Wisconsin at that point. So we go there, but before that I went downstairs and fired up my Godzilla and played it. And I, and I, it, it was me, I registered and all that stuff. And then I, I woke up in the morning, I was like, I'm gonna go down and play just to make sure that it was there. And then I did, and I looked and it didn't register, the one before it. Now I know I played it. And I was like, well, crap, that's the end of my streak. It showed streak one. I was like, well, that sucks, you know, because it sucks because I, I was, I did it. Yeah. And I was a little bummed out and I was kind of like, well, eh, what, who cares? I mean, you know, of the grand scheme of things, who cares? You know, it was disappointing. I did feel sad about it, but at the same time, who, it doesn't, no one cares. It doesn't matter really. And I was like, haven't I played it? And you were like, you should write them. And I was like, I don't know. And I felt really cheesy about it. But then I was like, you know what? I'm going to just send them a ticket. Yeah. So I sent him a ticket and, uh, and they replied, oh yeah, we see that you logged in, but it didn't register the game. Oh, well. That was like, that was it. Yeah, like Stern, Stern notoriously doesn't have the best customer service and I guess that would be a pretty good thing. Because if, I don't know, maybe what I would ask them to do couldn't be done. Right. But you would think they could make it that the streak continued because it showed I played right after, it showed I played the next morning. Why wouldn't it, why would you log in and not play a game? Yeah, like and I, my only thought was maybe I turned off the machine too quickly after it drained. Oh. Or something, I don't know the reason. Yeah. But the customer service guy at Stern was just like, eh, screw you. He was just like, nah, it shows you were logged in but you didn't register. And I was like, huh. I felt stupid for even writing the email. So I wasn't going to push it or say, can you fix this? If they would have offered to fix it, I would have been like, yay, and I would still be, the streak would have been alive. So I was like, eh, screw it. And I haven't played since. Oh, you haven't? Well, I played today. But that, yeah, I turned on the machine and then the Godzilla, the light was blinking. The insider light is doing a slow blink. I was like, that's not right. And I went on and it said it's not connected, but it's connected to the internet. And I turned on the Beatles and it worked. So I was like, well, shit, now there's something wrong with the light in our, so now I'm going to have to have a second, well, a new ticket. I'm not going to say who I am, but like, oh, this doesn't work. Why is this doing this slow blink? I'm sure it's either going to be a reset fix. Like I did a diagnostic to make sure that the internet was working and it is. It's connected. It's working. Everything's up to date. And I did a restart on the, on the, the, the wifi hub or whatever the hell it's called. You know, then I re logged in and it was fine. So it's something with the unit itself. The machine plays fine, of course. It's not nothing to do with it, but this is kind of what was great John Popadiuk Bob Betor Knapp Arcade Raydaypinball www www needingim LOL There you have it. Kind of sucks, but what're you gonna do? Right. Do you have anything else for today? You know there was Project Pinball, did you put a post about them. Oh yes, Project Pinball started their ... I think it's the third leg of their tenth annual Love Across America Tour. Wow. Sounds exciting. Yeah. They visit, I think they are dedicating, I want to say I think I read nine pinball machines throughout the country. So I think that they're going to do 45 days on the road, I think I saw. I remember this last time, didn't he just get a new van before the last one? I think so. Because it like blew up. Yeah. I think it had like two or three hundred thousand miles on it. Yeah, some of those just go and go. And that's Dan, you know, he does all these awesome road trips and stuff. I can't remember off the top of my head how many pinballs, but it was like, it was going to be 45 days. So I think that's probably going to be when Expo is. Culminate with Expo. Yeah. So I can't wait to see Dan because I know he does have a, doesn't he have a, a, a, www.willywonka.com www.subsidiaryofwonderland.com So, you want to elaborate? There was another death in the family this week. So, we lost my uncle this week. Oh, you mean like an actual death? An actual death, not a streak death. So, not to besmirch your uncle, which do you think has a more cultural impact? My streak or your uncle passing? Or probably neither? I guess neither. Or both? Maybe both. Yeah, we'll go with both. That's happier. Pornogamers . greasypirth fame I think that's your your coping mechanism. So I yeah yeah we're gonna go for forego the beer journal review this year but I did we did I did get reached out from Mike who said he had plenty the elder because he saw it and he remember Mayor dicey And if we see anybody like that has our branded merch or whatever, I know it's selling, we see anyone out there, we will definitely come up and give you a, maybe an autograph! Maybe we'll autograph- Right. The sticker, or it's probably worth more if we don't. But we might, if you want us to autograph it we will, but if you'd rather have a valuable one without the signing, then we'll give you that too. Or if someone brings Pliny the Elder, I will give you three stickers. Wow! Hey, let's take it easy. That's a super fair trade. I'm going to have to be stuck. They'll be like, we'll only have two and they'll take a drink out of me. They'll be like, here's three quarters of a bottle of blinding the elder. Oh man. They'll be like, you don't have any cooties. I don't have any. I didn't have my cootie shot before I came in. Let me find you another sticker. Yeah. All right. That's going to do it? Yeah. Anything else on here? Let me check my notes. I don't think so. Speed Racer, Uncanny X-Men, you know. Projectpinball.org. Go ahead and follow it. Yeah. Give them some money. Yeah, why not? Who knows? You might, you might get a little bit of money. The World is a pinball machine. It's a good cause. Yeah. And buy some more stuff, that's a good cause too. Right. Tell people you listen to Insanity, or Dumbness, I don't know which one, by buying a shirt. From where? From silverballswag.com. Right. You search pinball junk drawer. I guess if you just put junk, it's probably going to pull it up. I don't know, I didn't test that. I didn't either. I did pinball junk, and that's when it came up. Yeah, there you go. So if you... Pine glass, t-shirt... Buttons? Buttons, yeah. I think everyone... Again, I think whoever gets this for Secret Santa is going to get a set of buttons along with some other stuff. They're going to be like, hmm, I think I figured out who had me for Secret Santa. No. The Pinball Junk Drawer crew. Oh well. That's going to do it. Thanks for listening, everyone. It's been fun. This has been the Pinball Junk Drawer Big Show 55. My name is Falcone Langone with the as always, Kraft Bruce Alley. And we'll see you next time for more pin shenanigans. That's it man. Game over man. Game over.
