What's that sound? It's 4 Amusement Only, the EM and Bingo Pinball Podcast. Welcome back to 4 Amusement Only. This is Nicholas Baldridge. So today, for today's episode, this is going to be the final episode detailing anything having to do with programming the multibingo. Any future episodes that deal with the multibingo, we'll be talking specifically and passo, spook and fanto and universi Guado ruma este es tataänderу The snakeba Și that crapendouしか I'm very pleased to report that the game is done, or as done as it will be for now. It is laid back, it's a lot of fun, and there's a bingo row. I mean, how can you go wrong? Aside from the bingo row, there's also a wood rail row, and there are plenty of EM, solid state, DMD, and newer games scattered throughout as well. I believe this year there will be a P3 with Lexi Lightspeed Escape from Earth, and a variety of other games. Most of them can not meetazi's request, 않는 개인 aldаль, Pinball мама PGE Fakalhri Kaiverjo Grenorman Seoots Zusammen, 산비ברים 헤 מאל얗 내는 계절 지 spic가지덩대 10장만의대 công수를 정확히 수현 Gleich 대신ign Attreally 할 수 있는 Árb 추행 Ban 속 cutting 심사 BARELINED WITH BARELINED WITHा supre 압목 Martin desenvolvance of trat립이 걍 하 때로はạt 70장만의 주ítulo 하차 transformer 수현 장막óle Platz SHANTATE Rabado LED is projection was which makes it wearde thke 고onentado Brand한 넨 1好了 solid saga인 요 Style FIN 새 최중령은 고해 건 conscious es постоян dimension Mechanical 마이하다 BSIN a uh... with the complete code uh... including the appropriate era-specific audio for each game uh... pushed in as well as the finalized animations for every game and uh... the tweaked portioning so uh... the game is very complete at this point i feel aside from that i'll be bringing my united caravan and that will actually be for sale So if you would like a beautiful game, it is I think one of the greatest art packages that was ever produced, let me know and that one may go home with you. There will also be a variety of other games including United Serenade, a Bally Bikini, and It's a very interesting game. It is the one that was just discovered last year and it is beautiful. It's in beautiful shape. I'm very much looking forward to playing the real thing and seeing how it plays. It's really neat that this is going to be shared with us. And speaking of neat things that are going to be shared with us, have you heard about this game that's new in the box? This has never been opened before and is going to be at the York Show. Well, there is a 1962 Bally Silver Sails which is still in the box that Dennis Dodol is bringing and I will say I am beyond excited about this. Silver Sails is one of the most desirable magic screen games. It has your typical magic screen gameplay. So you have five balls and your goal is to get three, four, or five in a line or in a section and you can make the sections happen by earning the magic screen feature and then moving the screen to reveal these sections, sinking the balls in different colored sections and three, four, or five in the entire section instead of contiguously will score. That's The pinball is a pretty huge advantage and it's a really neat feature. The trick of course is the layout of the screen and the fact that you are locked out of moving the screen after your fourth ball after your fifth ball or before shooting your fourth ball. So there are quite a few wrinkles on that magic screen gameplay I'm going to take a minute to talk about my favorite pinball games. They're very unique and very thought provoking. It is one of my favorite types of games out of all pinball magic screens are just incredible for the amount of control that they give a player with a limited set of actual buttons. So if you think flippers give you a lot of Top 2Υ & credits for project The Pinball Podcast is a production of the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, The section which is only visible if you move the screen the opposite direction that you normally would to reveal a backwards articulated capital l and this section in order to score your red letter game you have to hold the R button down and then all the balls will drop the machine sounds like it's going to explode it is so cool First ball lifts and you've got a brand new game to play. So, no you haven't won any replays, however, you've won this guaranteed game which is likely much better than the game that you were playing. Part of the calculus that's involved in figuring out if you want to actually play that game is based on your current set of odds and features in the game but typically Hi you want to play for the okay game and then beat that and win quite a few replays it's easy to say and it's hard to do but it is so very satisfying when you actually do now if you don't think that's enough i've got good news for you because there's more uh... the next to last feature is What is called the gate feature. Now only gate or okay will light for any given game. So there is no way to have okay and gate lit at the same time. But when the gate is lit, what that will do is reveal a purple section. And if you sink three or more balls in the purple section and you hold the R button down, again, the balls will drop. But instead of going crazy, the machine ticks over to a brand new mode and reveals yet another part of the screen which is completely invisible normally and that is the golden sections of the magic screen now those golden sections can be moved around like the typical magic screen but the trick is there are striped sections and not striped sections and those sections are organized in such a way that it can be very difficult to get three balls in learn to영 erkennen의 어 incrediblyench decor withdrew in order to determine which applied to be a handy golden game so it let's see you improved your hasta haha if you get the gate feature with because do you think it was filled with room completely actually fairly difficult task i'm getting to three in the sections in a row the other thing that the scheme office is extra posted through a fairly common feature You can buy index or balls at the end of the game. Up to three additional balls can be played or purchased I should say. But it can take quite a bit of money and the game is actually clever enough to know what features and odds you have lit currently and will portion the extra balls appropriately. Silver sales in particular is well in magic screen games really overall I'm a little particular about the way extra balls work. They run through many different chambers, I guess you'd say, before they come out the other side. So that whole process is very fascinating as well, or at least it has been for me. But anyway, seeing a brand new game come out of the box, how often does that happen? The answer is extremely rarely, almost never, I would say. I know of one other silver sails that has been found in recent times and that is back in 2002, I believe. There was one that was found. There were a few photos taken but what I'm planning to do with this one is to document it. So I'm going to have people film it and then send me the footage and I will edit it together I'm not sure if you can see the screen, but I'm going to go ahead and publish that footage so we can all share in the joy of discovery here when we open the game and answer several burning questions. So what are the questions? That's a good question, right? The first is, was bingo paperwork included with the games or did it have to be ordered through the distributor or directly from the factory? Most of us think the paperwork came with the game. Did reinforced Bingo Legs come from the factory that way? Did Bally ship their bingos with dead rubber on the four red playfield posts? Some dispute this and think that dead rubber was added by greedy operators. This will answer the question once and for all. Which reflex Unit gear came installed from the factory? What brand of keys came with factory game and key numbers or stock? What type of balls were shipped with the game? Is there a brand name and were they magnet resistant? What does a complete score and Instruction Card package consist of? Will there be any spare parts, including extra reflex gears? Will there be any type of factory oils for motors or lubes for stepping units included? What is the shipping material like? The silver sails head is very heavy and it will need to have something to prevent damage to the cabinet and back glass in shipment. And finally, how do they protect the back glass itself during shipment? This is a question that I'm a little confused by because of course the light board can shift during shipment. The It'll be interesting to see the condition of the game as it comes out of the box and Dennis holdsNoIllusions that this game will be playable right away, but I certainly do Myself and Jeffrey Lawton will be on hand and of course Dennis To take a look at the game and if it is playable it will be on the show floor for free play all weekend So when is this unboxing happening? It's happening Friday morning at 10.30 a.m. And that time was picked when mostly pinball people would be there, so the public won't be tripping over us, confused as to why this game is coming out of the box and why it's such a big deal. The other thing is it will allow those who are interested to be there. So, pinball people will be there and they'll be able to walk right up and watch as this thing is taken out of the box. Ask questions and give us a hand if we ask for it. The other thing is it'll be playable. So if the game is playable, and I am optimistically thinking it will be, then it'll be available Knapp Arcade is a game that is available to play and the thought was to make it available to play for as long as possible over the weekend. Give people a chance to play something that they'll never have the opportunity to play again. This is a truly special event and I am just so very excited that Dennis and his crew will be making the trip to share this wonderful game with us all. Restrictions for the Recording a video and publishing it online so you won't be left out if you aren't able to make it but definitely try Because this is pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime event here. How often do you get to see an unboxing of a game from? 1962 ever bingo or non Not very frequently I would imagine So come on down Hang on bingo row say hello Check out the Silver Sails check out the Multibingo check out United Serenade check out the other beautiful games which are there available for free play during this very special show once a year and especially this year so that bingo row the last bit of exciting news about bingo row is I've announced the giveaways and I talked about this previously on the show as well but I commissioned Ryan Claytor of elephant eater comics you've heard the name many We called you hitpers. We will be glad to hear your ads. Join at minive chess eramautgo Там'sんж شر어erme ubvič Sandy I'm a fan of pinball and I've been watching them excel at it enough that they get a very nice keepsake. And I think the nice part is key to keeping people enthused and getting them to remember the games and the fun time that they had competing for that giveaway. On rekord lol Knapp Arcade is a free pinball exhibition that is held on Thursday, October 11th, 12th, or 13th. Come say hi, show me your four in a row or four in a section, and you win one of these beautiful prints. Did I mention that they're hand numbered and hand signed by the artist? They are. So they're perfect for framing Beautiful beautiful beautiful illustration so Can you tell that I'm excited I am So bingo row next time I speak with you It will almost be here but Before we move on to The final topic of the show, which is an electromechanical or purely mechanical game. I thought I'd regale you with some programming talk for the multi bingo. When last we spoke, I had been working on the animations and I had just finished them. Coin flash animations are done for every game. They look beautiful, I think, and I've timed them on my development machine anyway to The appropriate speed for the motor which would have been installed within the game um... now unfortunately when i move to the production machine or you know my my actual multi bingo the timing changed uh... because the computer is less powerful uh... than the development computer that i'm using so uh... unfortunately i've had to tweak a few things but Overall, it's worked pretty well. The mechanical animations are also complete. I believe I mentioned that as well. And they look amazing. It's just incredible how much this adds to the game. You wouldn't think it would add very much, but it certainly does. You know, seeing the magic screen, for example, smoothly move from one section to another instead of jumping as it did before. Just something incredible about that. Speaking of incredible, let's talk about audio because this is another thing which just really gave me chills here when I first started to play the game with the enhanced audio but I added mechanical noises for each unit that moved. I also added appropriate motor sounds for each game and tweaked things like the timeout noises and restarting the motors and so forth so that it triggered Straight from Knapp The美少年節 Hit 바뀌어 Out of theabsolute unit takes up and down before it was making these stepped for sound for every single replay that urr some you're hearing it on the replay register the physical replay registering and you're hearing it within the game which is not uh... correct so uh... in that zone extremely exciting and uh... took quite a while to program uh... for each game and even more so to debug uh... because as you might imagine there are a lot of nooks and crannies in there where a uh... poorly configured piece of audio could hide and i had to really go through and test as much of everything as i possibly could before i called the game good uh... there may be a bug or two that's still in there and i'm hoping to playtest the game I start to craving for thewriting I'm going to show you how to use the service manual to help with that effort because I didn't have a parts list on my schematic. So my schematic shows all the wire connections but the manual is where I put service information, how to start the game in debug mode, Jones plug mappings, a variety of information about To be able to use this information, um, about care and maintenance of electromechanical games, creating a test probe and using it, um, and also the, uh, board set and the number of boards that are needed, as well as, uh, the various other devices in order to completely, um, emulate what I've done. Now, you can skimp in a few areas. Uh, for example, If you don't need the game to make any sounds, you don't need to buy speakers. If you don't need the ancillary scoring instruction card displays, then don't buy them. If you don't need all the various switch configurations, that'll be an exercise for you, but it's certainly doable. You just remove one or more of the boards and change the way that the game is actually wired up. I'm a huge deal as it sounds. So, that's the service manual and I pulled some of the information on leveling the game and care and feeding of electromechanical games from the United manuals and the reason I did that as opposed to Bally is that United had these fantastic troubleshooting sections of their manuals that talked about general EM repair And they're incredible. They're really amazing. It is pretty much all the EM knowledge that you might ever want compressed into just a few pages of this manual. and I would encourage anybody to pick up one of their bingo manuals and check it out uh... it's wonderful. I can't say enough good things. So anyway, I liberally cribbed from from that and I changed a few things to make it match my game of course uh... and the way that certain mechanisms work and the care and feeding of those because they're not quite The same as what United was talking about. But um... overall uh... I'm thrilled with how the manual came out and uh... I went and worked on a flyer as well. So the flyer I did in the style of the um... early 1960s bingo flyers um... in the bingo flyers there is prominently displayed uh... black and white image of The game itself. And then there will be a little box or an aside about the various new features of the game and of course the title of the game is very prominent on the flyer and down at the bottom there's some information about how it's going to make you so much money and so on and so forth. So I emulated that style and took my own pictures and I'm very happy with the result of that. So, yeah, with that, the project is pretty much complete. Now, there's still more to do. I mentioned changing the wiring setup of some reflex units. That's fairly simple within each game. So I have it set up so that each game of course has its own reflex unit and reflex checking functions. So I just need to modify those to take into account the new documentation. Aside from that I have some plans for the Multipingo but as of this moment The multi bingo is complete and that's what I consider it. So I'll be working on Robo Frenzy next. I would like to finish that game and then move on to multi races. And if I back myself into a corner with Robo Frenzy, I might pause and try to work on multi races for a bit. Multi races is very exciting. I feel that it could The end of this video is about the new game, the new game of Ganko, and I'm going to talk about how to make a game that's as fun as a project and as invigorating as working on the MultiBingo. So, we'll see how that goes. Today's game is 1938's Ganko Gay Time and I know what you're thinking, Gay Time? Isn't there another Gay Time that you've talked about incessantly for many episodes? And that is true, that's Bally's Gay Time. This is Gameco's and it was produced many years before Bally's. So similar theme, happy folks, having a good time. And this game, this playfield, is very interesting for the time period. 1938, you have a lot of passive bumpers. They are electrified, so when a ball hits the bumper, the score is automatically tallied. Prior to somewhere in 1934 or so, there was no such thing as lighted scoring. And this concept had been around for a number of years now and had been refined to the point where we are here in 1938. Now each bumper, of course, increments your score on the back glass, ker maneuvering ganare video 23 26 If you hit the post to hit import Ichiro H cut into spin하고 가수이 이런 times光을 nadzie unique Knapp Arcade is a really interesting mechanic because there is a lot of reward for careful play and skilled aiming. If you were to hit the number two, that is going to be the most impactful when you have a ball in number two and number three, of course. So ideally, you're shooting for number one all the time because it moves all three of the balls instead of just number two. Now, the passive bumpers which are arrayed around the rest of the field offer scoring opportunities as well and layout is such that I think there would be quite a lot of interesting action outside of this huge center mechanism The game is a very interesting game, which takes up most of the playing space. I do find it very interesting though and would love to play this game one day. It is beautiful. The graphics are very nice as most of these late 30s, early 40s games are. They have beautiful backglasses, beautiful playfields, and the playfield and backglass artwork works well together. The theme is well incorporated by many of the colorations and so forth that carry on from the back glass to the playfield. I feel that this particular era of pinball is one of the most beautiful as far as the artwork is extremely detailed and the gameplay really adds to the charm of the game. This era of experimentation with new mechanisms and new gimmicks, new gameplay gimmicks, I think is a very important one and I hope that we see a return to some of this experimental mindset in the future.
