So I wanted to start, a couple shows ago we talked about the Illustrated History of Pinball by that John Chad, I think was the name. So I was now freaking out that I needed more pinball books to read and I found two. And one of them turned out to not have anything to do with pinball at all. I guess I should have read the description. It's called Pinball, but it's actually a drama. What did he say it was? Like a mystery drama that was written for George Harrison or something? I was like, well, that's, I just threw it in the air. Maybe that's the idea of it being called Pinball. I threw it in the dumpster. And then the second one, though, is called Pinball Wizards, Jackpots, Drains, and the Cult of the Silver Ball. It was written by Adam Rubin. Now, I'm not, I do, I read a lot of books, but it's always like, the books I read are just like the history of console games, the history of pinball, the history, like I just kind of read about the video games and pinball and NES and Super NES and all that kind of crap. This one is, I liked John Chad's illustrated history of pinball because it was very easy and engaging. I like this one for a different reason though. I mean, the Pinball Wizards by Adam Rubin, he's a funny writer. You can tell he's a really good writer. Like, he's probably written other books. I didn't, like, look him up. I probably should have. That's that show prep that I do that crap Bruce Lee does not. No, wait. Strike that. Reverse it. Anyway, so, you know, he interjects about some of his stuff, like his own personal stuff. And it does pepper in a lot of the history of pinball, which you can never get enough of. And it's some really neat stories about Jack Gutierre, Jersey Jack. I don't know how to say his last name. Like just loathing Stern. And they kind of have this kind of back and forth a little bit. I won't say loathing, but kind of loathing. So there's a lot of that inside stuff that's really unique to pinball. And he has a great perspective on it. So if you're jonesing for some kind of new material to read about pinball and the history of pinball, I would recommend Pinball Wizards, Jackpots, Drains, and the Cult of the Silver Ball. And he even at one point says, I wish I wouldn't have called this book Pinball Wizards because now he knows the connotation of that pinball wizard, you know, thing. But that's okay. And if you want to read a book not about pinball, read the book called Pinball. It's in my dumpster up back. Which apparently I own. Anyway, Foghorn Leghorn's Dumpster of Sadness, where all dumb books with the words that don't have anything to do with pinball end up. And I pee on them and I light them on fire. So, what else do we have for today? Thank God that wonderful segment's over. Anyway. Yes. You had an experience. I did. It was pretty awesome.

But it was at a private collection in De Pere, and they had a really awesome like outbuilding I was going to ask you because I saw pictures of that was one person's collection oh my I should do whatever they're doing for a living yes wow I would say there was probably 60 pinball machines in there 1 1 pinball machines I think they had No, it's not that many. I know. But they also had like a bar and like an area where you could have like play board games and a pool table. Wow. I mean, the pictures were really awesome. Awesome. I heard they had the top-notch photographer on hand. I wouldn't go that far. I learned that I'm not a very good photographer, but I have a good editor.

    You're like, I bumped into them one time before they were winning, so I assume they win all the time. I don't know. You are correct. you know I always think back to that time when I was playing and I was like oh I should have done better and they were like oh my god they were making a big deal out of me winning a game or having the top score of the game and they were like you know who that is and they said the guy's name and I was like okay it didn't mean it was Eric Stone but it didn't mean anything to me yeah he's the number one in the world like at that time I didn't know who the hell he was we walked into that place not knowing anyone or anything. Nope. Just play the hell out of the machines. That was the goal and you did. I think maybe if I would have known he was the number one player in the world, I probably would have been nervous and lost. I think it was because I didn't know or care who it was. I was like, yeah, whatever. I was trying for that last shot and I got ripped off. That makes a big difference if you're just playing to play. Or playing for fun. Yeah, and just going nuts.

    So when You were there. It was a good turnout, a real good time. There were 13 women. I guess the 13 top women in the IFPA standings in the state, which I'm not sure how it worked, but there were people from out of state that came. Was Taylor Swift there? No. Because that's her favorite number. Remember on that commercial she points to her head as a – No, she wasn't there. Yeah. I don't believe that's her favorite number. She was probably out of different states. I don't believe she knows what pinball is or that 13 is her lucky number. Anyway.

    But the Fox City's pinball stream was also there recording and doing a live stream, which was interesting. Yeah, I'll tell you what. I thought about getting into that because I do have a pretty extensive videographer background. I had a TV show on public access. Well, we had a TV show on public access for a lot of years. but also I was working that camera crew for the concerts for the CEC cameras and stuff. And I was like, man, I should set this up and start streaming pinball. And then I saw the rigs that you had to do and how there's glare and how it sucks. And I was like, you know what? I don't think I'm going to do that. No. I don't think I want to ever have to do that because it looks like it's a big pain in the ass. Trying to get that lit right so it's not reflective and it's not, you know. And I think that was part of my problem was I didn't have my flash on because, you know, you don't want to have flashes going off while you're competing for number one in the state. Yeah, they're going to swing on you. Yeah. They're going to hit you in the face. You want a GoPro? Yeah. No, I don't. Let me put down my expensive camera. I work for a living. Anyway, and I'm a volunteer here.

I like the Austin Powers, but it's not a well-received machine. I don't know. I think now, if I got it now, I'd be like, eh, this machine's boring. Yeah. Because you change. The more you play pinball, the China changes and your outlook changes. So what did you think about the Bond game? I have to play one of these sooner. Oh, my God. I really like the Bond.

Because I have a particular way of doing things. And if it's not done that way, then I think it's destroyed and I want to just throw it in a dumpster and pee on it. And light it on fire. You don't want to do that with a pinball machine. No. So they're expensive. so you know that worries me a little bit but it is some of them are pretty cool you know yeah but so you did like it was fun I did now did you have a hat that spun the spinny hat thing or is that just the you would know like remember Oddjob throws that hat yeah I didn't I don't remember it being a hat on it I think that might be a different the one yeah you know like it would be funny if you took that one and you like put a shoe on that and you like kind of made it like an Austin Powers version of the 60th anniversary Who throws a shoe Yeah who throws a shoe And you can even have it hacked that says that Who throws a shoe, honestly? That would be the greatest screw you to the whole entire pinball community. Because no one likes the Austin Powers. And you can make the bond that's really expensive in Austin Powers. No.

So he called, and I went, huh, I wonder if he has a question about a pinball machine, which as I talked on the phone I was like well that's flawed logic because no one's going to call me to help them ruin their machine they'll be like oh I need an emergency doctor dude, something popped up on the doctor dude and I need to, I know foghorn leghorn to the rescue but anyway so I called him back and then he's on video and I'm not and he's like what's wrong with your camera I was like what are you talking about and he's like oh it's a video call I was like oh hi and I turned my video on I was like so what's up and he's like just hanging out and calling people I was like, huh, really? He's like, yeah, you're the first person to call back. I was like, huh, really? But then other people started calling in. So I think we talked for like three hours. It was a really long time. It was a long time. It was funny because it was just like this impromptu tribe video meetup courtesy of Glenn Wechter. And I actually had a lot of fun. I would have never in my life done anything like that. No. And if I would have known what it was, I never would have called. I mean, I like most of the tribe people I've met. So good job, Glenn, for kind of bringing some of us out of the woodwork here on the drive and talking for a while. Now they loop. I looped Craft Brew Sally into the call. Yes. And you need to sync something up. And everybody found out that I have a Craft Beer journal. Which, why were you shy about it? I don't know. this thing is of epic proportions. Like after the asteroid hits the world, they're going to tell stories of that thing. And they're going to search out like a grail. They're going to try and find it so they can remember days of yore when they drank weed of different kinds. And they'll be like, Oh, craft Rue Sally was the holder of the book. Remember all that from when that asteroid hit the earth? No. Okay. Anyway, so I don't know. It's just something that I do and I, it's fun, you know, I do. It's just something that I've never really told anybody other than you that I have this beer churn. I let the cat out of the proverbial beer bag. You sure did. You poured a 40 out. She's writing. She is journaling some stuff. So she'll write, write, and there's pages and pages, and it'll just be like a number or like a letter. And you're like, what's this letter for? Before she's even done explaining what that page is, I'm like, I'm going to go in the garage and, I don't know, look at my wrenches or some crap. That is all correct. So your epic craft brew that has like log information and it has the labels and stuff. Now, what do you want to rectify? Yes, I was kind of put on the spot on this call for my top five beers of all time. So you've had some time to reflect. I was like, oh, wow. She's like, number one beer, Friends. Number two, Grease. Number three. Oh, wait, that's our top five machines that are dumb. Anyway, go ahead. Scrap Bruce Alley is not a being put on the spot kind of crap Bruce Alley. No. So. I gently like ease into things like hey how about Saturday Maybe we thing in this stuff with the man and the other things And you go and I don hear anything back And then a day or so later you sleeping a teabag So, hey, I looked into that thing I mentioned for Saturday, remember? So if we would do this, and this is like three weeks before that Saturday. This is waking up on Friday afternoon. No, it's not like with doing stuff. It's mostly with like talking in front of people. Something I am very shy about as well. Yes, I know. That's probably where I get it.

And then there's the Boulevard Funky Pumpkin, which they have stopped production of. And it makes me really sad because it is a sour pumpkin beer. Yeah, but you turned the corner on pumpkin stuff.
