You wanna see a man, boy? I'll show you a man. Kick me in the jimmy! Heh, no way. I said do it! Do it hard! Yes! Whoa, that was cool. Coming to you from beautiful upstate New York, this is the Slam Tilt Podcast, a show about all things pinball. I'm Ron Hallett here with my co-host and partner in crime, Bruce Nightingale. Kick me in the dick. Kick me in the dick. No, thank you. And this is episode 22 of the Slam Tilt Podcast. Our new thing. Dr. No. Oh. Yes. Da-da-da. Da-da-da. Da-da-da. Da-da-da. Da-da-da. Do you know, even in the first one, Sean Connery was wearing a hairpiece. Oh, really? Wow. He was bald already, even in his 30s. Oh, my God. Yes. Oh, no. Yes. Very good. Okay, yeah. I cannot do Sean Connery for a second. I can do Sean Connery as much as I can. Sometimes I go a little too much. You could do the interview where it's okay to smack a woman around. I don't remember the interview. I stuck a woman around like any which way I could. Yeah, that didn't go over well. What was that, Barbara Walters' interview? I'm trying to remember what that was. Barbara Walters sucked my dick in the back. Are you going to do like Celebrity Jeopardy? I'll take whore ads for 300 Alex. That's who reads. God, I love that. I love that. So we get to say, for the next 23 movies, we get to say, Pussy Galore. Everyone loves that. And I expect you to die, Mr. Bond. Greatest villain ever. Yes. Greatest villain ever. Even though after I learned he was actually dubbed, it was kind of like, really? Because he was a German dude, and he was like, but he was speaking English, but he was dubbed. Yes. Well, there's a couple good ones. You know, you got Jaws. Jaws always rocks. Yes. Richard Keel is awesome. We love Richard Keel here at the podcast. And Tattoo, also, you know, with The plane, the plane, yes. Yeah, the spinning hat. You remember he had the throwing hat? No, no. Yes, he did. No, the hat. That's the big fat guy. Yes, the hat, yes, yes. That was our job. And Goldfinger, yes. Where was Tattoo in? He was in The Man with the Golden Gun. The Man with the Golden Gun, that's right, yes. Which had Christopher, one of my favorites, Christopher Lee. I always liked Christopher Lee. My favorite movie for Bond is going to be Live and Let Die because you have AMC cars in it. AMC cars in it? Okay. AMC car nuts. Come on. All right. My favorite is Goldfinger. Still is. I like Stinkfinger, too, yes. Stinkfinger. Okay. Finger. Probably a porn, I'm guessing. Yes. All right. Moonraker. That's what everyone gets to look forward to. Oh, yes. Yes, they do. So how has your week been, Ron? Probably better than yours. Yeah, kick me in the dick. That's the theme for today. I think that's actually going to be the title. No, I don't put obscene. See, a few rules I have is I don't use obscene titles. Okay, kick me in the junk. How's that? And whatever the intro is, I don't have any swearing in that. Just so, like, when you play that, you don't immediately have, like, some kind of F-bomb going on. Okay, so kick me in the junk. How's that? Kick me in the junk. Okay. No, no, no. I got better. Kick me in the jimmy. Kick me in the jimmy. Kick me in the jimmy. Let's see. Kick me in the... Oh, you know what? I think we have an intro. Oh, good. Even better. Oh, yes. Although they've already heard it now. Oh, well, still. No, they already heard it, but now we're talking about it. Now we're talking about it. So, okay. So, news of the week. Yeah, okay. We're going to start with news. Of course, like we always do. Every... News, because we always follow the exact same format. We never do anything different. Yeah, we do once in a while. Okay. Go for it. Go ahead, head it up. No, you're the man this time. Okay, okay, I'll head it up. We mentioned last week how the Lansing Games was closing, so we were curious as to where they were going to have the Massachusetts state final, because that's where it usually is. A new location was found. Chuck Webster, a Massachusetts pinhead, has graciously offered he is bowing out of the final so he can host the tournament at his house. Very impressive. And guess who's going to possibly be in that Massachusetts one most likely? You? Yep. I am 14th. Really? Yes. That freaking tournament. Okay. So that is at the Wicked. First time I'm trying to convince him to sell me his Quicksilver. Oh, God. Yeah. Wicked Pissa. The Wicked Pissa Pinball Pit. I think I got that right. If you're listening, Chuck, I'm buying Quicksilver, baby. I'll sell anything for that. Oh, anything. Anything. So if you get me a Quicksilver, you know, anything can be possible. So we got an email about a new location in Boston, and I might let you take that one. Okay, let me get my email up, so give me two seconds. Full preparation. How's that edit work doing? There is no editing. I never edit anything. I noticed. Share some new exciting news about Jack Abbey's Brewing Company in Framingham. is launching a Springdale Bower Room, which is a normal space with the owners of Brewey and I intend to fill with pinball machines and video games. They just installed a brand new, spanking new Ghostbusters Pro and a lightning fast Spider-Man that was released recently left Laning Games. It's just a start. And they're going to have a, I love when they say soft launch, because, you know, soft launch. Good Lord. Next weekend, 12-16, which is a Friday. Very cool that they are trying to increase this. Actually, for us, Framingham is a little closer to you and me, Ron. That sounds familiar. Has anything else ever been held there or something else maybe I've gone to? No. No? No, no. I used to go there for work. I used to go there for one of my customers. But that's it. Very nice town. Little town. Nice. There's a couple of nice restaurants in there also. All right. So let's see. What else do we got in the news here? We have the Ultimate Stern Fan Contest is still ongoing. Yay. What's the deal? If you win, you get a game? A brand new premium. Premium anything or a specific? Premium whatever's out there. Okay. I don't know. It's like what you won. It's a popular contest. Yeah, and it looks like there's all kinds of chicanery going on as far as, like, voting and I don't know. There's some of them I see that's like, how is this not higher? Or you see something like, how is it this high? That kind of deal with the voting. Kick me in the jimmy. Kick me in the jimmy. It's the kick me in the jimmy show. It is. And watch your out hole. Definitely watch your out hole. I think that's all I got for the news. I think you have more. I do. Do you? Do I? Do we? I don't think so. Okay. No, you do. You do? Matrix. Matrix. Matrix. More Matrix. Yeah, I was kind of going to do that as another segment, but to segue out of the news, when we were talking about our, we were going over the Matrix, which was the title of our last episode, we were comparing the Matrix. I was there trying to take either the red pill or the... Blue pill? Yeah, fuck, shit, wrong fucking Matrix again! Us. So, we went through the Stern Matrices, the Stern Matrix for all the different Batman versions, And then we went through the Jersey Jack one, which we couldn't really give a complete fair comparison because he did not have a complete feature list for the collector's edition. But now he has. So it was a fail, but it was not fail. It was like the day or the day after our podcast came out that I got it. Because I'm still on his mailing list, I think, from when I got probably the Spider-Man or the Family Guy. I'm still on there. So I get stuff from his mailing list. So I got it up right in front of me here. We got the limited and the collector's edition. So if Bruce can get his calculator up, we can redo this again. Oh, boy. Now you're going to make me fucking work again. Yes, I am. Someone's got to make you work. Work, work, supermodel. 36. I am on 41 hours of non-sleep. So you're ready. So, folks, he's preparing for the 24 hours at the Sanctum next year. He's getting ready. He's ready to kick ass. Okay, you keep on thinking that. Hold on. Was that a snore or a fart? Both. Okay. So, hit it up again. Let's go. All right. So, again, we're just going to compare to things that are different. Oh, my. Oh, my. So, it's like we won't compare the difference between the Quantum Haze blue armor and the Quantum Haze just Quantum. Oh, the Quantum Mist blue or the Quantum Haze. It's still whatever. Same. Same. And they both have Invisiglass. They both have a shaker motor. They both have a 3D etched emblem. Okay, they both have lit ramps, external headphones. They put some of that out of order just to annoy me. Okay, metal, nameplate, and numbering. $50. Okay. Let's see. We have, yeah, it doesn't say this is on the LE. Topper. Of course, I have no idea what the topper looks like or what it is, what it is, but I'm guessing some kind of fully interactive topper, I would hope. No, I'm not guessing that, because you look at the toppers from Wizard of Oz, both of them. Yeah, but those are just LEs. They are not collector's edition. Let's give them some credit here. Okay. Just pretend you could even give them, like, whatever the police-like thing that Ghostbusters, what they're charging for that is. That's like $279, $299, or let's just say $350. Be even. Okay, so $350. Can add that up there. Uh, let's see. Mirrored back panel. So the mirror back panel, I'm assuming is the score area, like the lower part. Like we said last time, something in two to 300. So let's say 250. All right. Okay. We have, this is an interesting one. Customized software. Ooh. So that's what I think he was talking about that where the phone did more react to it in this time. So what do you actually price software out to be extra? Plus, you know someone's just going to hack it to get it to run on the other one anyway. So you don't think so? You don't think it's going to be too difficult? We'll figure that out. I don't know. I deal with some software sometimes, and you get some pretty good encryptions. You can do good stuff. But I'm going to say we just got to put Scott on the case and make him fix it. Well, no, it's not pure assembler. It wouldn't interest him. It wouldn't. How much do you charge for software? That's a good question. I don't know. I'm kind of stumped on that one. In the computer world, man, it's all about the licensing. Especially if you're like Microsoft or something. I'm going to say $350. $350. Okay. That's fair. Okay. All right. Ready? I'm ready. The signed comic book. Remember, I think we said it was $50. $50. Yes. The collector's plaque signed by Pat Lawler, Jack, and John Yowsey. Okay, we're going to say $150 because it was $50. Or $25? I'm going to say $150. All right. Special back glass. So you have the mirrored back panel, and then you have the special back glass. All right, $350. $350, okay. So then you have – I'm going to leave the one thing for last. Um, actually, no, I'll take them in order. No, no, no, I was going to do them in a different order, but I'll just do them the same way. Customized collector's edition team jacket. Ooh, so I know the AFM jackets that they made back in the late, you know, middle 90s on eBay right now, they're going for $400 to $500. I would say a little less. I'm going to say $375. All right. lunch with Pat and design team at Chicago design office. So you got to fly yourself there. I'm guessing so. Yeah. So it doesn't say all expenses paid trip. Bullshit. Uh, I don't know. Uh, how many people are gonna be there? Who's going to be there? Pat, uh, patent design team. So it's going to be Chris. I know Chris, it's going to be, well, it's going to be, uh, Keith P. Johnson. Cause he's out of Chicago also, but you're going to be possibly with other people. I would think so because it's going to be – I wonder how they're going to do that because if it's the number of people, say you get 10 or 20 people who buy this thing. Yeah, plus two, so you're 40. Let's say 400 bucks. All right. And the last thing is join Jersey Jack at Next Expo Reveal. Oh, so you get to stand up on stage with them or are you saying kumbaya while they pull the thing off? I don't understand. Yeah I don get that because you know I was at the reveal and I literally was standing on the stage That why I was taking a lot of the film footage from So I don know Boombayah. And when it says next reveal, does it mean like. It could be two years. It could be two years, three years, whatever. And does that mean like you get advanced, like you can see the, you can look under the blanket before anyone else? I don't really know. You can put your head in the glory hole. Oh, my goodness. Here's a good question. If you pay for this, does that mean you don't have to pay for Expo? Or at least for the seminars? Maybe for the seminars, you know. I don't know. That's Mike Pazak writing down and going, I'm losing money. Well, yeah, he wouldn't like that. But let's see, how much is it for the seminars for like one day? $75. Okay, so there you go. So let's say $150. Okay. And also it's got the rad cows, which are $400 according to this. Okay. So what is the price difference between the regular and the special edition, or whatever you want to call it? So it's $9,000 compared to? Between the limited and the collector's edition. It is the price difference. The limited is $9,000. The collector's is $12,500. Okay, so $3,500. Our estimation total is $2,800. $875, Bob! Really? So it's not that far off. Yeah, but we did estimate on, you know... Yeah, we are upping a lot of the stuff, but still... It's a deal. I think Jack is a smarter businessman when it comes to toys on stuff and getting more people feel like they get their bang for their buck. Oh, my. I'll go with that. Yeah, I have to agree with that. I think I'll stay with our thing that we said last week. Your best deal between the Batman 66 and this and all the different editions, get the limited. Get the limited dialed in. Yes. Get the most bang for your buck, if you will. But even this now proves possibly that the other one, the special edition, is a really pretty good deal. If you have the extra money, go for it. Go for it. Go for it, man. Just for the jacket. You'll look so cool with a dialed-in jacket. Pussy galore, baby. Pussy galore. And you'll get pussy galore with that jacket, obviously. Yes, you will. Okay. Yes. Definitely one of the best. Plenty O'Toole was another that I thought was always a hilarious name. Or just names like Dink. I think Dink is actually in Goldfinger also. Yeah, I think so, too. Yeah. They've got some crazy names. All right. Let's see what else we've got here. Oh, I made a mistake. Fail. I failed. I failed miserably. I have to apologize to Stern for my failure. Fail. They were trying to help me out, and I blew it. Fail, fail. Now, they have their T-shirt offer where you can get a, if you send like a proof of purchase, they will send you for free a Stern 30 years, a 30 years Stern T-shirt. So I sent in my receipt for the Metallica, and I asked for confirmation they received it, which they never sent, but whatever. So I get the T-shirt, and I'm looking at it. It's like, you know, this is kind of big. How big was it? If anyone's ever seen me, I take a medium. This was extra large. And I'm thinking, like, oh, they screwed up. And then I'm thinking, like, wait a minute. I never specified a size when I sent it in. Fail. Massive fail on my part. So who's going to be the lucky person getting that shirt? That's going to be my podcast mate, Bruce. So we're going to be trading t-shirts. He's getting the domino one and I'm getting that. Damn it. All right. All right, Peter, you're going to be getting domino. Oh, no, I'm getting domino. Yeah. You're going to be getting stirred. 30 years, baby. Hey, I know what I can do. What? I can actually, what is it, white drawing on the three? I think it's a black shirt with just 30 on it. Okay. I'm going to actually put some duct tape in, make it eight, and then put a dash in between, and I'll be Stern, eight, no. Stern, eight, no. Okay. Yes. Because that's what my record is with the bros do even pinball. Yeah, but okay. So you're undefeated against Stern? I'm undefeated against everyone. All comers. All comers. You know, I forgot one very important news item, something that happened Saturday. Well, there's two things that happened this weekend. The most important one, Pinberg. Yes, tickets sold out in 23 minutes for 740 spots. 740 spots. Well, I've heard 23, 25, and 26. I love how it keeps changing. Did you notice who was the first person who posted that tickets were done in the Pinberg? No, I did not. That would be me. Oh. Because I had everything pre-set on my things, including my credit card, copy and paste. Eric taught me that trick. Yeah, I did that. Yep. For mine, I was at work. I went to work because we have three nice internet pipes there. So I figure if there's any issues, boom, pop on another one, pop on another one. Yeah. And I'm the firewall guy, so I control the internet. So if there's any problems. I am the gatekeeper. So if there's any problems, we'll bypass that. I turned off the web filter and all that. And I had my laptop, and then I had my Surface next to it. You've got to have the backup machine. I had my credit card number pasted, ready to go. And I refreshed it, and they were right on, man, right? Oh, yeah. Right at 11, boom, it appeared. Like, there it is. Boom, boom, get it in. Very impressive, though. Yep, yep. And somehow my name ended up being spelled wrong. Oh, wow. Fail. No, but it was very impressive selling 740 tickets in 23 minutes. That is a testament to how good this show is and a testament on how popular pinball has come in seven years with this show. And the funny thing is, like I said, my last name is two L's and two T's, Hallett. It was only one T. I had my – a coworker was standing behind me when I did this, and he swears along with me that I spelled my own name right because, you know, I typically don't spell my name wrong. But for some reason it had one T. So then they came out with the list today, like what's actually on the site. I didn't even see that. Yeah, and they had a note, like, if you notice something, if anything's spelled wrong or something's not right, let us know. So I sent an email in, and literally, I'm not exaggerating, less than five minutes later I get an email from Mark Steinman saying, like, we've made the correction. We've made the correction on show clicks, and when it refreshes the page, like in whenever a day, your name will be right. Okay, I didn't even see that, so I'm trying to – the list of players. Yeah, list of players is up there. Oh, a medical order. Yeah, by first name. And I am the only Bruce. I'm special. So what is the other news item? Well, my wife, Kathy, was actually in Brody of Pinball last week. Brody of Pinball. She beat Kevin. Kevin, she has – unfortunately, she kicked Kevin's ass. Kevin who? Kevin Manny. Very good. But, yeah, she kicked his ass, but she only got one in three on a future spa. The future was looking pretty bright. So did you make any – did you discuss our idea, the battle of the podcast? I did, and they were positive to it, But we might have to prove by getting them on, I think, and making the challenge live, like right on our thing. Like, say, we're going against you. Like right now? No, not right now. We'll get them on, I think, maybe in a week or two. Oh, okay. What I want to get, you know, we're going to get our list up, and we'll talk about that afterward. Bruce wants, like, 30 guests. He wants, like, he wants everybody on the show. Shouldn't it be that way? Well, I know we're going to see Steven Bowden at Pinburgh, and we're going to see Zach, and we're going to see us, so that all of that matters. That is true. That is true. I'm sure they'll all be on Slim till podcast TV. Yes, they will. Dun, dun, dun. So, let's see. What else we got in the docket here? We're trying to move along here, folks. Yep. Things going. We got, let's see. Dialed in. Went through that. New locations. My t-shirt screw up. Oh, I had to. I actually was in a tournament this weekend. You were? And what tournament would that be? It was the Selfie League for Rochester. We had seven players playing the finals. And unfortunately, Todd was picking the last game. And what do you think he picked as our last game? And we talked about it last week. Well, who's Todd? Todd Roche, who is the head of the Knox Selfie League. He actually runs it. what did he pick uh let's see what did you say you hated last week um it's coming that's you're on it oh uh it was some got leave system three because you hate them uh it wasn't big hurt it was oh shack yes he picked shack they have a shack they have a shack nice wait it's better i only beat zach i kicked zach out 96 million and 94 million i moved on and i was i was like i want we play a four-game finals in each round, and we do pop a scoring, 3-2-1-0. I played out of turn on the last game and still won. Wait a minute. Don't you get a zero when you play out of turn or whatever? I did get a zero. Oh. And I still won. The man who is so good, he plays out of turn and still wins. Still wins, yes. So I got my magical pinball points this week, and it was 2.9. Well, speaking of pinball points, so we're getting near the end of the year, so it's going to be time to figure out the locations of the, well. New York State. Are you talking about Massachusetts? Well, no, there is no. You mean the New York City finals. The New York City, New York State, New York City, New York State, New York City, New York State. It's the New York City finals. Yes, it is. Sorry. It's the. It's going to be in Manhattan somewhere. Pinball. I didn't see. It's the modern pinball New York State finals. Super League Modern Pinball New York City Classic, better known as the New York State Finals, will be in Manhattan somewhere. I don't think it actually had a location. It just said Manhattan. But the upper, the better one, the upstate. The better one, wow. The upstate New York Finals, which has a much wider geographical outreach. It does. Going into Binghamton, Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, I guess, has decided on their location, which will be... Moonraker Arcade on January 21st. No, Moonwalker Arcade. Walker, sorry. He's really into James Bond. I'm really into James Bond lately. Jaws will be there to greet all the players as they arrive. No, the Moonwalker Arcade. Michael Jackson is there. Lisa's game is there. Invest on New York. That'll be on January 21st. It's the top 16 players who do decide to come. It's a double elimination, five games per round. Last one standing takes all the money, baby, and the trophy, which I have to order this week. So it's three out of five all head-to-head? Head-to-head. As opposed to – basically, I think the state wins four out of seven, so it's basically the same thing. No, four out of seven in the first round. After that, it's three out of five. for the state or for the upstate the state okay ours is always five out of five really because i played in the massachusetts one last year and it was four out of seven every round nope shouldn't have been it was it was four out of seven because i remember bowen was like 4040414040 that's it i'm very disappointed well that's at least i think that's a if Bowen is playing in the Massachusetts final, I think it is a positive at being in another location because at lanes and games where they had all new sterns, no one was beating him. Yeah. Period. No one is going to beat him on those games. Yes, I will. No, no, take them right out. Leg sweep, sweep the leg, like sweep. But at, um, the wicked pinball, piss a pit there, there, there is a, a wider variety of, especially older games. So it may be some, odds equaling there. I actually, sorry, I got 3.94. I said it wrong yesterday. I refused to go. Instead of 2.94, I actually got 3.94 points. Congratulations. I'm very proud of you, Bruce. So here's the funny, I'm going to bring up a little funny thing about New York State points compared to upstate points. How many points do you think the top 20 people in state are probably all in the modern pinball league? It's the top 21. Oh, sorry. I apologize. I was wrong there. So how many points do you think Steven Bowden has from just New York State? I have no idea. Honestly, I don't even look at the points usually. I just look at my place. I don't look at the points. 598 points. 598 points. Now the top upstate player. The top points whore is our own Bruce Nightingale At 124 124 Wow Obviously you play in inferior tournaments man Much inferior. Yes. But for the update, we do have – it's been updated, which is nice. They had to fix – there was a big bug with it because one of the latest tournaments had an apostrophe in the name, and it fucks up the whole database. bummer so uh our leader is me at 124 our own ron hallett has moved up into the big boy leagues now he is number 12 yeah and with the canadians there probably won't come now and i doubt if trent will come i'll probably be on a pyre and maybe not steve even who i don't know maybe not even steve come on steve you can do it binghamton's not that far away no it's not nope it's only two hours past Middletown. As soon as I said that, he went, ugh. Hey, come on, Steve. I drove three and a half hours to get on the break to play in a tournament where the finals didn't even start until almost midnight. Now our own Zach has almost 40 points. He's in 21st. He has a slim chance of getting in, and Nick Lane is 15th, and our own Jerry Menard is 9th, and Howard Levine is seventh. Steven Bowden's fifth. Levy, fourth. Yes. Yes, Levy. They had the Festivus tournament this Saturday at the Funatorium. Serving ham. Yep, and they were streaming it. It was funny. It kept dropping out, but the later the tournament went, as it went into midnight and one in the morning, it got better and better, probably because everyone's getting off the internet at that point because it's so late. Yeah, the porn hoarders are going, time for me to go to bed finally. I worked one out. Yep, yep. Yep, my hands are tired. My hands are tired. My hand is tired, yes. And Eric Russell is the second highest in Upstate New York. Which one? Eric Russell, CNY. Oh, okay. So there's a third one. There's a third Eric Russell. There's a third Eric Russell. I think one of the Eric Russells got another game. I saw he got a Paragon. He got a Paragon. That's in his living room. It is. He's got three games in his living room. That dude needs help. He's got, like, what, three games in his living room? He does. One in the kitchen still, right? Yes, he does. And how many in the garage? I think six or seven. And here's the funny thing, folks. He has a basement. He has a full basement. Yep, but there's no games in there. No games in there. Yeah. Come on. Come on, man. You got to, you know, it doesn't help. It doesn't help with the love life, man. When someone walks in and sees that, it's like, uh, goodbye. I love the nightlife. I want to boogie. Yes, very, very good. Name the artist. Couldn't tell you. I couldn't tell you either. I just remember she was blonde. So we have a lot of good players, though, in the upstate, so it should be a great challenge this year. But there are some new comers, too, and Greg Pavarelli better step it up a little bit because he is in 22nd right now. That's six out of the old guaranteed 16. You might lose a couple people like Fred Cochran. Well, who's first in the New York City final? wait a sec there's a new york city final oh new york state championship yeah the new york city final the new york city slash modern pinball invitational Steven Bowden and he won't go to that one why wouldn't he go to that one oh new jersey he'll do new jersey yep so greg pavarelli who is actually right behind steve he's got 591 points that's a lot of points that's a lot of points. Yeah, well, it's changing next year again, so we'll see what happens. Repairs. Okay, I did shit. No, I didn't do shit. I did bring out the embryon. It's gone from the house. The fire sale continues. Sean got his embryon. Now, unfortunately, Sean had like 10, 14, about 17, 18 stairs. And big old stairs, like humongous gaps between them. Oh, my God. That was fun, but worked perfect. He's actually talking about now going up to seven digits on that thing. He wants to get the seven-digit kit. Good idea. Good idea. Yeah, so fun idea. So that one's gone, and I think Skateball will be gone in the next week or two. And then Freedom Firewood's still there. Come on, boys. You know you want it. I will autograph it. I will write Pussy Galore on it. I will do anything I can to get rid of this last machine. I expect you to buy it. I expect you to buy. Very good. Very good. Do you expect me to play? No, Mr. Bono. I expect you to buy. So repairs for you. I know what you did. I know what you did last summer. Yeah. Yeah. Well, we worked on, I worked on the lockdown bar receiver for the big game. WD-40 rust remover, I must recommend it. I thought I had WD-40. I did not. So I went to Home Depot, and they had like a two-pack, a WD-40 and then WD-40 rust remover. Like, what the hell is the difference? And I guess the rust remover one is like, if WD-40 doesn't get rid of the rust, use this instead. So I just used that first. And I got the thing, and I think I said that last week. I got it unstuck. And then when I basically did it, I just doused it, brought it over to my parent's house where he has like a, he has a wire wheel and man, that took all the rust right off. I was amazed. You buffed the chimp. The what? Buffed the chimp. Buffed the chimp. Okay. So it got all the rust off, like totally off. That thing is rust free, if you will. So then my only issue then was getting the lever back on it just because the parts, there is like a couple washers and then there's this one like combination washer. It's almost like a – Bushing. Yeah, it's almost like a metal bushing. I bring it to Home Depot. They take one look at it like, no, we don't have anything like that. It's like, what does it go to? And I'm like, if I told you, it wouldn't help either. so so i'm like okay what what would do the same thing so i basically got like um like like a hollow standoff like a steel standoff that was around the same height and a couple washers so like the total the total thing would be around the same height is the original one part and frankenstein did all together and it actually worked hey hey so then i cleaned a lot all the rust off the lockdown bar put the beer seal on it and we have a happy lockdown bar, and I didn't have to buy anything, and it's great. But now I'll get to that one some other time. In the meantime, I'll start working on the Harlan Glow Trotter soon. I'll just start marking all the sockets that are bad so I can just get the play field out and start swapping those. My board guy is swapped, so he's not available, unfortunately, until next year for any new boards. So that's not bad. I'm probably going to be – I've got lots of other things going on. I might be slowing down with some of the repair work, honestly. Because you're going to be practicing up for that upstate championship. Yeah, yeah. I know you are. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got the goggles shield kit, which after Stern has it spelled wrong on their site, on the actual kit that you get, it's spelled right. So I put that on there. And really, all it does, it protects the actual projector on the side, so it can't take any hits. It doesn't do anything about protecting the mirror. Goggles by Zano. Yes, and I've had more just unbelievable air balls than that thing. You're loving that game, aren't you? It's, eh, I have other plans for it possibly, so I'll just leave it at that. Ooh, sneaky. Yeah. Yeah. Then I go over to, you know, I start playing my roller games and my drop target bank. The opto board on it has been kind of going for a while where we just register kind of phantom hits here and there. But, man, it went apeshit in this game. It just started like, oh, hi, Cookie. Cookie's on the screen right now. It just started. You can hear the sound effect of the target going down over and over and over and over. And it was going apeshit. Like all three targets, down, down, down, down. Put it in switch test. so it's like I'll try the the cheap way which is I just took it out resoldered the header pins resoldered the optos and like cleaned them and like maybe this will fix it even though I know like not when all three optos are doing that there's something worse wrong with that probably a chip or something who the hell knows but it is quite foobarred so I have a uh I could have swore I had a Great Lakes Modular board. I just distinctly remember having one, but I could not find it. So I guess I forgot or misremembered. I did an Andy Pettit. I misremembered. So that's on the way. It's already been shipped. So that'll get that back up and running. I just found out two minutes ago. I am now playing Zach in the Central New York Pinball Location League. He just beat Tom, and I have to play him in the next round. Will you be victorious? Be victorious! Victorious! Okay. That's what I'm planning on, but I've got to figure out which game I want to play, and then we have to go out there and play. Well, yeah, you pretty much have to play to play. Play to win. Yes. plenty of tool okay we're gonna go on to the games you like games you hate which at this point i've i've exhausted a lot of the games i hate i hear about this every fucking week no see don't you're interrupting me here let's say i have i have games now but i i've already gone through most of the games i really really hate so for me it's more gonna be like games i like games i don't really care for okay but it doesn't sound as good in the segment so we'll keep the name of the segment but you you have lots of hate in your heart so i know you got plenty games to hate you're gonna pick like every got leaf system three probably at some point every got leaf system three except maybe a camera what lights camera action lights camera action so you want me to go first you gotta go first yeah you go first so game i hate got leaf system three again i'm gonna go through all these fuckers big hurt yeah we mentioned this last week yeah no no we didn't mention it we talked about it because we were talked about shack big hurt oh my freaking god that stupid you do you do realize talked about and mentioned are the same thing no no no no because you didn't go deep in depth with them oh okay so what don't you like about it you don't like the fucking hand the is just terrible. Shots suck. Rules suck. Everything suck, suck, suck, suck. Wow. Poor God, Leaf System 3. They were trying, man. They were trying. Yeah, they were trying, and they failed. Okay. How about the game you like? I own one, but I do not own any more. Play better. No fear. Fast freaking game. Great shots. you can set up really hard. You know you walk up to a good no fear when you hit the launch button and it goes right, the drop target drops and it goes right into the lock hole. Where it's supposed to go. Exactly, but a lot you go out there and they bounce around, they dribble around in there. Some don't even make it up it. Oh my. A little trivia, this one of the games that Steve Ritchie actually, he wanted, he wished he could have done one more whitewood on because he wanted to remove a shot. He thought there was one too many shots in the game. Too many shots in that fucking game. And the game was done because there was a break in production between two games. So it was like, can you get a game done quickly? And that was the game that he did, no fear. So the development time was shorter than usual. Okay, for mine, let's see. What game I hate first? These are easy. Again, you say you can pick every Gottlieb System 3. You can pick almost every Atari also. Time 2000. Oh, yes. If anyone's ever seen that one, it has two sets of flippers at the bottom, meaning that you're left and right flipper, then a left and right flipper. And when you hit, it's hard to describe. If you see one, don't play it. Like a scissor, almost like. Yeah, if you see it, don't play it. Just look at it. Let someone else play it instead, and be thankful you didn't play it. game I like, which I think I've mentioned this one before, but I'll say it again anyway. Tri-Zone. Tri-Zone is a early Solid State Williams game, but it has just enough, the rules are just interesting enough, and it's just enough stuff to do to get by. I always liked it. I always want to play it at Papa, but they have their Tri-Zone, they modified it in some kind of Simon game. Stupid Simon game. Which they never converted back, so every time I go there it's like, oh, it's Tri-Zone, and it's oh yeah this is the bizarre assignment thing they did It like if anyone from Pop was listening please put it back Put it back It a good game I want to play it I want to play a regular TriZone Very true Very agree I'm trying to get to the I Buy that segment. Our Flight 2000 is still up there. $1,100. Read by that. 16 people are watching that puppy. At least 16 of them. Well, 15 of them are from this podcast. I guarantee it. There's another good one. This is actually in Mr. Garrison, New York. Mr. Garrison. Yeah. Shut up, bitch. It says, description is pin, space, ball, space, machine. And it's a diner with no glass. Not the back glass. It's missing the actual playfield glass. It's at $1,000. Three days left. Ticket number is 282275242815. Does it have the usual awesome plethora of pictures? Yeah, three. But at least you could say the glass is off because it doesn't have one. But it's a good try. Speaking of, there's an interesting thing about glass. Glass on, glass off. Glass on, glass off. When I was working on the big game, I'm going to have to get a new plate-filled glass for that. But I didn't realize, I knew it was wider than, say, the Williams wide bodies, the Super Pins, the 90s games. But, like, your standard pinball glass, for those at home, is, correct me if I'm wrong here, it's 21 inches by 43 inches by 316th inches thick. Let me go down and search and check the 316 part. Or the bathroom. No. So 316s. Yes. Not 1 8th. It's 316s. Kick me in the gym, Eric! Yes. Hard. So, and for the wide body games like Star Trek, Demoman, Twilight Zone, they're like either 23 1⁄2 or 23 3⁄4 by 43. Yeah, by 43, by, you know, the 316th inch thick. when I was working on the big game, I had the Stargazer glass up next to it, which is conventional size. The big game is actually much taller also. It is not 43 inches. It is longer than 43 inches. Oh, my. And it's like 24 inches wide. So I'm going to have to get that made in a glass shop somewhere. Because this thing's got chips and stuff in it. There's no way that's even tempered glass. Just thought I'd... That's just interesting. you've got mail. We've got mail. We've got a lot of mail this week. Yes. The call has been answered. Yes. We actually could talk about you people. And you didn't say we suck. We do suck. We do, but you, you, you don't think we suck. That's good. So, uh, me and Scott have been going at it about the, uh, firewood. Just the repairs. I also started to work on the, uh, firepower six to seven digit conversion. so if you're listening Scott let me know how much you want to burn a firepower ROM for that because I'll need the ROM soon and when does Scott want to come back on yeah Scott when do you want to come back on actually I think we have to go because he works nights that's the issue we'll work around you Scott of course because I'd like to actually be on a podcast with you which I've never been at least as far as the audience is concerned this is true he sucked well the thing that sucked is you guys were like just giving me heat left and right and i'm i was coming back with some of the greatest comebacks ever and no one could hear them yeah what's if if the tree falls in the woods does anyone hear it exactly i just i had great comebacks trust me folks they were awesome comebacks but what are you gonna do okay so we we had a jim on one of our regulars who actually has one of the uh 25 levels of suck 26 levels now i'm sorry another great episode definitely go with the uh james bond movies nothing wrong with pissing galore see we listen to our people he's wondering who the lucky owner will be of the freedom firewood and then when is where is bruce's skateboard listed yep so it's gone unfortunately uh but the freedom is still available if you would like it yes you have some freedom firewood and then we have ryan who actually said i got a new phone uploading my podcast program notice that it doesn't have pinball in your title and losing a lot of listeners yeah the thing is you got you got you got tilt through you got this flipping podcast yep they don't have the pinball in the name. And it just, it would, I get where he's coming from. And we actually do, I actually do a keyword of pinball within Podcast Garden. So at least that's in there. And he's right, what he's saying. The thing is, it would just, how would you word that? The Slam Tilt Pinball Podcast. That's too many words. The Slam Tilt Pinball. Pinball Slam Tilt. I just, I just like the Slam Tilt Podcast. I love it. I love it. And don't forget Pete. I'm getting to him. This is Pete. Just want to say, quick note, say you guys have the best pinball podcast out there. Pete gets the gold star for this week. Kick me in the jimmy. You know, brother, we're number one, dude. There's no doubt about it. Snap into a slim jimmy. Oh, that's the wrong gun. Yeah, sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Royal Rumble, another good game. he's enjoyed every show and loves to hear our opinions on games ron i went and found he actually listened to us and found the stern stars because the praise you gave it in the videos very nice good job ron good job ron all right yep he now has a now he has a huge addiction to early stern so fuck you pete you don't take my sterns no that's what i was looking at it's like oh shit But there's someone we've got to go against to get these games. Although you picked Stars and a Meteor, which is two of the three highest selling games they ever had. So they're the most plentiful games out there. So I say everyone should get a Stars for their collection. There's nothing wrong with that. Believe me, you will not regret it. Get yourself a Stars. And Bruce will get himself off the mute so we can hear him. What? Yes. I can see his mouth moving. Nothing's coming out, man. Oh, my. Something's always coming in and out. Oh, wow. Another edit. Let's see. What time is that? It's 106. Okay. Okay. So, yes, Pete, our number one fan from Long Island. Long Island, New York State. But he is downstate. Yeah, don't hold us the whole New York City final against us. I mean New York State final. Sorry. Whoops. Whoops. Whoopsie. So I'm just looking at the snow reports that they're putting up. And we're supposed to get two to three inches tonight, which it's already about two inches so far. Syracuse tomorrow. Hi, Eric. Twelve to eighteen inches. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We're supposed to get a couple here, like just to make driving a little bit hairy, but nothing near that. Twelve to eighteen inches. Solid orange. Well, that's appropriate for the Orangemen. Yes, it is. Wow. Yes, it's that time of year, folks. It's that time, that time of year. It's the most wonderful time of the year. Yes. All right, I'm out of material. Let's get to a couple things. Is it time to pay bills, or is it time for upcoming shows? It's both. Okay. Both. Combo segment. Combo segment. Oh, www.pinballlifter.com. Come check out my website. Check out all my products. Worthy cause? Yep, very good cause. Open the stores for Toys for Tots. From 1 to 5, both stores will be collecting new unwrapped toys for Syracuse local Toys for Tots program. This is at Wizard Pinball 312 South Main Street in Syracuse, New York. Wizard Pinball have free play on all machines if you bring a toy. That's a pretty good deal. And it goes to a good cause. I like that. That's very good. And the Wizard Pinball, if you do have to pay if you don't bring a toy, is $10 for all-day play. And they'll donate 50% of the admission towards donating more and more toys. Nice job, guys. just saw that one. Let's try to see what else there is on the events. I think, uh, the never drains is coming up, but not for us. January 13th, but don't forget March 17th through the 19th expo. Oh, come on. You can plug them just because we're not going there. There you go. Banning, California. Yep. And don't forget, Pentastic is way in the future, July 6th through the 9th. Okay, yeah, that's way too in the future. Way, way too far in the future. The future is great. The future. Now, I have a question for you, Mr. Hallett. False. True. The Beatles. The White Album. Yellow Submarine. Since Dad's not going with you to Pinburg. Yeah, he is. Oh, he is? He's going. He's just not playing in. He's going to replay FX, but he's not playing in Pinball. He's retired from tournament play. Yes, until we get him out by us. Well, he still plays me, but regular tournament play. We've gone to seven games now the last two weekends when we have our little head-to-head, our little World Series of Pinball, if you will. Last week the final was on Stars, scintillating Stars game, and then this week it was on Metallica. Nice. Very cool. Very cool. I got to get working on my stuff. I didn't even talk about my repairs, but not much. But I got to get back on Simpsons. I haven't done anything on Simpsons. And I got to figure out the sound. And I got to put some CPU boards in. I got my two CPU boards. So one's going back into Blackjack. Anything else besides kick me in the jimmer? Kick me in the jimmer. Doctor, no. Yes. Actually, no. Nope. I got nothing else.
