There's been a lot of speculation in the hobby about when Stern Pinball will officially unveil its special Keith Elwin-designed, single-level James Bond 60th Anniversary Edition pinball machine. In today's great interview by Kyle and Imoto from Marco Specialties, George Gomez stated that the super high-end game will probably be revealed in mid-December. Also of note, George stated that Stern still has a lot of backorders and the company probably will not go back to three cornerstone games per year until it works through its backlog. He does not expect there to be a major disruption in production at Stern from its upcoming move to a new facility. During the interview, I asked George about the potential for a Vault Edition of a Stern game coming out any time soon. George said that Vaults are a thing that Stern is still open to doing. He has heard the clamoring for Tron and Lord of the Rings Vaults. From a hardware perspective, redoing a Whitestar game like Lord of the Rings would be very difficult though. Plus, Stern currently has product plans spanning years into the future. Today they're already talking about games that the Company is going to roll out in 2025. To me, it didn't really sound as though we're going to see a Stern Vault game any time soon but that's sort of reading between the lines.
