It's kind of like that in pinball too, you know, what's the next game going to be, what's the next game going to be? And I have inside information. I mean, you always say you have inside information, Jeff, but then you say you're under NDA and then we get nothing. It's like just a big tease. Well, I've turned a new leaf, you know, it's the new year and I thought, why should these other podcasters guess a thousand different games and oh, we were right about that one, fuck them. It's for real, it's happening, and I don't think they're gonna be able to hold on to the secret for a while. I mean, it's just too juicy. I wouldn't even be surprised if Jack tells you to save your money. I'm going to be I'm telling you it's it's happening you don't believe me it's gonna happen they have had some amazing launches in the past before Jeff like I think Jersey the Guns and Roses Jersey Jack was one of the best launches ever where they just had this like a media blitz and they had all the assets ready what do you what's your inside information on how he's gonna how they're gonna reveal this one yeah been there done that I think I think they're going to try something a little different. You know what? It's a big license. I wouldn't be surprised if they take deposits without even seeing the game. I really think that's possible. I don't think so, Jeff. Yes, there's, they're releasing a pinball machine and they specifically have been designing a pinball machine. David David Van Es had a vision about designing a mech that really closely emulates a butthole sucking in a pinball. We've been waiting. I mean, it's 2025 already. The calendar's just flipped. It's time for that. What has your fellow countrymate said? Well, I didn't get the information directly from him, but I saw a picture of a mech that looks like a butthole. Apparently, it's June. I don't know why they had to build a theme and pay for a license around it because I think the butthole mech was good enough. Love it. And you think, well, they're going to rest on that for a while, right? That just came out. No, no. They're going to be releasing another one in with TPF coming up in a couple of months. No, but my son has. My son loves the game Portal and I don't know, I just got this strong feeling, I'm getting this vibe from Texas that that might be the next game and you're like, oh, okay, fine, that's dandy. I've seen it as, oh, is it going to change the upper third of the playfield? No, they're going to do more this time. They're going to add additions that will come down. You know, you remember when Heist had that crane and it was wicked and it was awesome? What if they did that with, oh, I don't know, something that you can add on. I'm telling you, it's coming up TPF in a couple months. You watch, mark my words, Portal is coming. There's no way that's happening, Jeff. Okay, call me out on it. There's no way they're going to release a pinball machine about a video game that was popular 10 years ago that doesn't make any sense. Well, next you're gonna tell me, you know, uh, they're gonna be these, oh I don't know, uh, pinball games are gonna be more expensive because all of a sudden, uh, imports are gonna change with something like, something crazy like tariffs or something like that. Fuck off, that's never gonna happen, come on. Nah, that's just all threats. There's no way. Jeff, I've, I've heard a rumor and it's, it's not a gang-based rumor, this, this is not as juicy as yours, but I've heard that Stern have been secretly working in the backgrounds. I'm going to be like, bam, guys. Do you like it? Wow. It's about time, but this is what I've heard and they're going to roll it out on all the new games and eventually for all the Spike 2 games. So that's a hot juicy rumor. I would guess that somebody like Tim Saxon is working on it nonstop and won't leave Stern until that's... He is the biggest asset. I don't know what Stern will do if he ever leaves the company. He's getting... Lock him down. Lock him in. Yeah. Lock him down. You know, you can let the Owens and those guys walk. The Even tho There Is, I'm a big fan of Pinball Network. I'm a big fan of Pinball Network. And in fact, I kind of let some people know at the Pinball Network and they're like, you can't fucking, if you do that, it'll be the end of the Pinball Network. You can't leak it. And you know what? I wouldn't put it by people to, I don't know, like if there was a Kickstarter, let's say, or a I was talking to a friend who was doing a pinball podcast and he said, you know, I've got a lot of money and I want to make a pinball machine. And somebody said, I'm going to make a pinball machine, let's just say 75% of the size. Just give me a thousand bucks. People would fucking do it. You don't think they would, but they would. No. I'm telling you. People have learned their lesson. They would not back a Kickstarter for 600 plus thousand US dollars raised in a couple of hours. There's no way that would happen, Jeff. How can you build a pinball machine for a thousand dollars? Well, that's what people would better think about. You know, I mean, I think that's one of the things that's going to happen is you're going I'm a pinball machine for a thousand dollars. Well, that's what people that are spending the money should probably be asking that question, but it doesn't matter. They'll get it. They'll get it. You watch. All right. We'll see. Let's circle back to this. You know what? I challenge anybody out there to do that. Start a Kickstarter. Say you're going to make a pinball machine. It doesn't even have to be full size, 75%. You know, G the downfall of that there is actually another another rumor that I've heard ball around pinball do you remember ball around my pinball sure do yeah yeah they hinted that they were gonna try a kickstarter but people kind of violently pose that they didn't really have a proper plan for how they're gonna release their pinball machine that was full of innovations apparently they're gonna they're gonna call it quits before they started so this is a pinball company that was around for two or three years and This is too much. Let's sit on it for a day. We'll decide if we're going to release this or not because it's going to affect a lot of people. No, it's a different kind of scam. I'm like, they'll do things like where they'll throw fake watch down on the ground and they'll say, it's yours. And they said, well, they, they also zip tie you or tie wrap you up by the wrist and you got to pay them to get off. I'm like, right. Are you making this shit up? And he goes, Oh, that's not even the worst. I'm like, what are you talking about? And he said to me, again, listener, not making this up. He said, the one thing you gotta be careful I'm a fan of the Eiffel Tower. You'll be walking with Anne and someone will throw a baby at you. I'm like, what? They'll throw a baby and you'll go to catch it and when you go to catch it, a pickpocket will grab your stuff. We walked through it and I was underwhelmed. I was expecting a little more shock and awe, but I guess it is as advertised. In the windows and all that kind of stuff. But I was like, eh. You wanted to see something a bit more hardcore, Jeff? Like, was it that the PG Hollywood movies are more hardcore than what you saw in real life? Is that what you're saying? I don't know. I just didn't, I don't know what I was expecting, but I was like, eh. I was underwhelmed. That's all I'll say. But it was also 4 p.m. So, you know, it's not like it's prime time. I'm still waking up from the previous day. Perhaps. Anyway, that was Amsterdam. I love the city though. It was nice and you got to do the river tours. I don't know if it's touristy shit but if you're only there for a day, you got to do it. So yeah, Paris will be fun. Looking forward to going to Austria. That's going to be a biggie. I've wanted to ask you in Australia, now that Escher lives there, has anybody won any tournament? You want me to actually look it up. There's no way. I'm sure like a local tournament, like twice a week Brisbane thing. He has the Australian flag there now. He's officially Australian. Okay, Death by Pinball. I mean, Death by Pinball. Death by Pinball is a 24-hour tournament, but instead of it being one giant tournament. I'm looking at all, since he's been there, his worst finish is 13th at some Brisbane pinball club. I'm going to assume he was, you know, probably having a good time, drunk maybe, and not really giving a shit. Maybe, who knows? But he has come first in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 tournaments out of 7. I was in the second and many of them. I always tell people if you wanna come and steal some whoppers, just come to the Brisbane Masters. They're on in a month or so. Everyone who comes, everyone from the US, Steven Bowden, geez, I forgot the name of the other guy. Colin Urban, didn't he do well? Yeah, Colin Urban. That's going to be a big one. So that's coming up in July, then Pinberg, and then The Beast. The Beast has since been announced since our last thing. So three bang, bang, bang. David David Van Es, Knapp Arcade. Pinball Championship didn't make the Worlds this year. I didn't qualify. It was like eight or ten out. Oh well, but they're not back. Oh, geez, a lot has happened since January. Yeah, I just realized like the Australian Pinball Championships happened. You didn't play in it? Yeah, which I think. I managed, yeah, so I managed to qualify for it. There's two ways you can qualify, Jeff. You can either get a really large amount of whoppers and qualify no matter what, But most of the places are filled from coming in the top four or six in your state. And because of that, I didn't know if I was going to qualify because I didn't play much pinball last year. I did. I came third in the state champs, but I had already booked a holiday to Hawaii of all places. And I could have cancelled it, but I was like, no, I'm going to go to Hawaii and spend all of my Australian dollars, convert it to US dollars, which is I'm not a very good conversion, Jeff. No, I know what that's like. Yeah, if you're from the US and you want to come to Australia, everything's really, really cheap right now. Yeah. What's the flight to Hawaii? How long? Ten and a half hours, I think, from Melbourne. That's not bad. Like Melbourne's almost the southmost point of Australia, so, or mainland Australia. Yeah, that's pretty good. Yeah. Yeah. It's a beautiful place away, Jeff. Love it. I love it. I got to get back. What else is going on in your world? You had some notes. We should probably talk. I mean, it's been four months since we've recorded. I mean, you're hearing the stuff we recorded definitely 100% back in January, but what do you want to talk about? Ah, geez. What do I want to talk about? Don't steal stuff from anyone at a pinball convention, Jeff. That's what I learned last week. Don't fucking steal anything from, you You know, it's happened before in the past and I don't think people got caught but with technology these days, if you steal something in this little hobby, you're going to get absolutely roasted. So this is a coin taker that had that video, it was at Allentown's show and I watched the video and like, did they edit it? Because the video like stayed on the person. Like, they must have edited it to just keep that on that person. Either they edited it or maybe there's like a feature of the security camera software where you can lock in another person and it'll zoom in I'm not sure what it's at now, but small companies like anyone but Stern would fucking kill to release a pinball video and have 50,000 views on it. It's weird, I mean, I don't know if it's the pinball community or if it's the algorithm. It's the algorithm of Facebook, this is Facebook views I'm talking about, where it's like, well people are talking about this, people are arguing about this, let's show this to everyone. Because it appeared on my, like every time I opened up Facebook that day, it kept on appearing, like it didn't disappear. It really wanted me to see it. So, yeah, I don't know. Let's get this guy to steal a brand new June Pinball Machine off the lot where they're being made and relaunch the game that way. I don't know. It was an interesting read and a very, yeah, people are on a bit of a witch hunt. I feel bad for the guy because of the way that people reacted, but I also don't feel bad for him because, yeah, he stole something, so. The court of the social media strikes again, right? Did he do it? Sure as hell looked like he did it. You know, what he said after the fact. Is it after the fact? I don't know. I haven't heard back from Cointaker and all that stuff but I didn't I man that social justice drives me nuts I'm not a big fan of it I know some people and like you say it gets hit some people watch it and it was just really easy for people to to click a button and say like well let's let's now ruin this person's life let's now let's now review bomb like this thing like oh it's a company let's all say like that this company is horrible you know an example of I'm a fan of pinball. I've seen a lot of things I've seen before like this pinball place doesn't like these types of people. Let's make sure it's got zero star reviews. It's really easy to click buttons and move on and something that takes you 30 seconds to do or 30 minutes to do can have a lasting impact on somebody's life. And that's the part that I don't understand when people want to actually destroy something that they won't sit there and watch or be a part of because it's a couple of couple of button clicks and that's it. There's two things. There's one, I can't stand when people tell you how you should feel. You can have that feeling on your own and it might be different than others and that's okay. And the other thing I can't stand is people make mistakes. You made mistakes, I've made mistakes, we've all made mistakes. There used to be a time when there was forgiveness and redemption. Those days are long gone. It's now a life sentence and that's it, that's Pageμα I'm a big fan of unity. What a softie, eh? I always tell people that I'm friends with so many people in the pinball hobby, but they're not deep friends and I can hang around with them for many years and not dive into the world because I really have the common factor of loving pinball and um like we're all we're all very different people Jeff people with different political views, different religions, different upbringing, different morals, ethics yeah but pinball is is is what brings us together and I love our love of King Kong Jeff. It's like the differences of Dubai and Abu Dhabi it really is. Abu Dhabi. This is like a 20-year-old memory but it was about people getting offended and they had a bunch of people in a room and they were saying words and then the people had to press David David Van Es, Knapp Arcade. I'm going to have to go back to the last one. Yeah. Well, I just said I'm certainly not making fun of people who can't have children. That's not the case but I'm making a joke and the joke is actually on my kids who would be the most surprised when they saw me post that. What's going on? Anyway, my family members, that's it. You could actually be offended by every single joke possible, even the cleanest jokes ever. Why the chicken crossed the road, Ryan? That's not funny. I had somebody hit by a car. I'm a vegan. I'm a vegan. Yeah, I don't want to. Hey, Jeff, when I was in Hawaii, I'm not sure if we have any Hawaiian listeners. Dave Ponce. Dave Ponce, again. I was on the island of Kauai. I'm pretty sure that's how you say it. One of the small islands. That's where a lot of the Jurassic Park footage came from. And got So we got off the plane, rented a car, went for a little drive and there were chickens crossing the road everywhere Jeff and not in one little town like across the entire island and we we looked it up and apparently in 2018 or 2019 there was a hurricane bad Carl Weathers event and my understanding I'm sure it's more nuanced and complicated than this is that all the chicken coop stores flung open and the chickens were like we're going to They're free and they ran away and they all like there's just wild chickens everywhere, Jeff. Like you can you can catch it. It's legal to catch them and kill them and eat them. Like you go to the beach and instead of like in Australia it's seagulls that'll come and try and steal your chips. It's just chickens living their best life. And it's actually really wholesome. I really enjoyed seeing chickens versus other birds just ruling the land. There are more chickens than humans on this island. I'm not sure what's going on in the world but when I go to the grocery store I'll see some things in the chicken section that'll say free range chicken. So now I'm assuming they're from Hawaii and these were chickens that were freed and all of a sudden some bastard caught them and now I'm eating them and paying more for it because it had to be shipped from Hawaii? Actually no Jeff, I looked this up and yes it's legal to catch them and kill them but The meat is no good because they're like warrior chickens. They're like properly free-range chickens. Just like think of a muscle-y guy or girl at the gym just like, just full, like their abs and their veins are popping out. You can't see it because they're like fluffy chickens. But these chickens are just too lean and apparently their meat tastes like shit and their eggs Also tastes Like Shit Jeff. So apparently the reason why you like chicken meat and the eggs that we consume is because we just like eating fat and sassy chickens. They're just boring old chickens that just slowly plod around. They're like not worrying about being run over and like dodging hungry Hawaians. So there you go. I assume Paris has shitty tasting chickens too. You might as well add that in there as well, right?
