News Barrels of Fun Pinball Reveals New Dune Topper & Mirrored Backglass; Issues Last Call for Orders of the Game k knapparcade December 17, 2025 This afternoon, Barrels of Fun pinball officially revealed a new upgraded, animated Sandworm topper for its Dune pinball machine. Below is the official description: "The topper is designed to place you directly on Arrakis. Shai Hulud moves across the dunes, rising when the moment comes, while the two moons traverse the sky at different rates. The lighting is fully synchronized with the game’s day and night cycle, transitioning from the warm desert tones of day to the deep blues of night. Every element is intended to deepen your immersion and enhance the overall experience. Note that the sample animation has the moons moving at faster rate than the production units. This way you can see the movement. Due to the high cost of production, including significant tariff impact, we will be building these toppers to order. The order window will open on December 18th and close on January 9th. We will manufacture the number ordered, plus a small overage for transit damage and warranty support. Any remaining units after fulfillment will be offered at a higher price. The Dune topper is priced at $1,675 plus shipping. A deposit of $875 will be required at the time of order, with the remaining balance due approximately four weeks prior to arrival. Delivery is currently scheduled for August 2026." Now that's an impressive topper! Pre-Orders of the topper are open now and will run through January 9th. Barrels of Fun will build as many as they have orders for during that period plus a few extra. I have a sample animation of what the movement will look like and pictures of the topper below. In addition to the new topper, Barrels of Fun also officially announced pricing for its new mirrored Dune backglass. The upgrade is $299. The company has already received its first order of backglasses at the factory. Along with the announcement, the Company stated that they are pausing orders for Dune on December 31st. At that time, production at its factory will switch completely over to Winchester Mystery House. Barrels of Fun's current production mix is 60% - 70% Dune and 30% - 40% Winchester. Dune production has now surpassed the 500 unit mark. Originally Barrels said that Dune production was limited to 1,100 units. After slow initial sales, demand for the game has picked up. They are leaving the window open to possibly build again in the future if demand is there, but to me another run of the game after this sounded unlikely. A Dune ordered prior to December 31 will have an anticipated ship date of February 2026. The current forecast is for it to take around nine months for Barrels of Fun to finish producing all 525 of its Winchester Mystery House orders. The Company is hiring more people and ramping up production. They hope to be able to beat that nine month estimate. Dune Animated Topper Store Page Dune Alternate Backglass Store Page
