Hey, Poor Man Tribe and listeners, this is Glennie Rogers, and you're listening to the Tribe Multiple Podcast with Rachel and Tim. Poor Man Tribe's the thing, that is who we are. It and Drew. They're not in this thing, so how could it go wrong? Flip away with us, to an old blockade, and then we'll learn about each other. From two pennants to another Rachel and Tim, who do we have on the show today? Hello friends, welcome to Tribe Multiball, a pinball podcast that focuses on a dynamic group of pinheads that belong to the tribe of the poor man's pinball podcast. I am your co-host Rachel Ristel along with my friend Tim Lee. How you doing today Tim? I'm doing fantastic. How are you? Good. Did you realize I was referring to you as my friend? I had to pause. I'm like, threw me off. No, no. Sorry, you know, that's the behind the scenes of what I really call you. You know, I don't think anybody wants to hear that, you know. Yeah, yeah. I hope we're friends. Yeah, absolutely. Oh, for sure. Those pinball relationships is what it's all about. It's part of why we do try multiball, I think. Right? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. What's going on in your pinball world? Catch me up. Not a lot. A couple of things. For Father's Day, my entire family went and played in a tournament with me. Everyone. Amy, Sid, Noah, and Josh in this past Sunday. Absolutely amazing. Yeah, I said I don't want anything else. It was great. We had a good time. It just, I don't know. They seemed to be smiling and having a good time as well. So, you know, and we had fun. And that's really all the pinball playing that I've done. I did go ahead and pass on that Toy Story game that I told you I was going to buy. So, yeah, I was really excited about it. It was a first date kind of thing with Amy and I. We've been waiting on it for years. And when the leaked video came out, I saw it and I thought, I just can't spend that much money on that machine. So I passed on the CE and then I waited until kind of the more official videos came out. And then I just passed on the LE. So I was out on both. Not going to say it's a bad game. I haven't played it. beautiful art beautiful lights i just i wasn't at that price so first time i've ever backed out on a game ever so well that's okay there's nothing wrong with that uh you know i really am a believer where i want to play a game before i buy it and i understand that in this day and age that if you want a new title when it comes out you want a brand new inbox game that you have to register yourself far ahead or way advanced or whatever and i'm just not into that i really just play it when it comes out and make an opinion from there if I really want one because usually I should still be able to order one. There's a Toy Story that's now in Milwaukee and one as well at Lumberjack Johnny's up in Ashwaubenon, which is a suburb of Green Bay. So I have the opportunity to go play one now if I'd like to, which I'm going to. I'm excited to. Yeah. Yeah, I'll play it, and I'll give you a review. I'm not going to bash the game. I just didn't see the value in it, but we'll see. It could be a great game. Yeah. How about yourself? What have you been up to? well i do want to tell you that uh amy lee did send me a couple messages while she was playing that tournament because it was the very first tournament that she's ever played in and she yeah she was super excited and she kind of gave me a little bit how she was playing some third and fourth places i tried to give her some encouragement and she talked about the game that she had on lord of the rings she had it was a good game and then it was not a good game uh so it was really cool getting a message from her because i love that that was awesome that you know pinball is not about competitive pinball for everyone pinball is about just having fun and enjoying your time with your friends and your family that's so awesome you got that on father's day yeah but it's also about just just having fun so glad that she had that but you said she was having fun because she had you know a couple of cocktails she had three extra tall beers and um she was feeling pretty good. And I'm going to be honest, like there were 16 people in her tournament. And if she would have won that Lord of the Rings game, she would have finished in third and she ended up finishing in eighth. It was that tight. Everybody was within a couple of points, but she did well. And we had a good time. So she said she's going back. Yay. That's so cool. It's very, very cool. As for me, I think the last time that we chit-chatted, I admitted to everybody that I suck at pinball on Drew's show on the Poor Man's Pinball podcast. And I think I just had to get that out of my system because the following week I went to District 82. I played a tilt in Tuesday, which is it's a seven round match play that finals. And then there's also a side tournament, which is a one game qualifier with the top eight that move on to play. And I did OK in the tilt in Tuesday. you talk about like when it's tight point wise i took fourth place on my last game and i ended up like 33rd and if i would have taken first i would have tied in eighth place in the main tournament so that's tight points right and it was and it was a terrible game on fishtails uh but i had a laugh about it i also but the side tournament timley i do not suck at pinball no for the very first time ever i took first place in a pinball tournament oh awesome for the very first time congratulations thank you and it was it was in the side tournament and the entry game was hot doggin and i really love that game and i i applied my the nudging method i told you about where i'm really bumping the top of the game with my with my hands much more towards the top of the glass on top of the top of the machine when I'm playing the older games. And that actually seemed to really help on that game to keep the ball from sailing into the out lane. Hot Dog, and if you've played it, has like six inlanes and it has, but the ball sometimes will just sail over all the inlanes and drop out the out lane. And it's like, it's a fun game. I really like the game. So I had my entry score was, I think, 267K. And that's not great, but I thought it was okay, good enough. So I got into the top eight, and I played the semifinals, and I tied against my friend Peter, and we had a playoff in Game of Thrones, and Game of Thrones and I are not friends, but I like the Castle Multiball, and this is a premium that's at District 82, so just getting it up on that top play field was easy. I was able to do it. So was Peter, and it really came down to about, I think, 30 million points that I beat him by. So anyways, I move on to the final four, and this is great because, you know, I've talked about trying to get this pinball zen state of mind right I got the rule set check I got the skill set check those might not be a pluses but there's something I've got you know something in the rumble those things but I've really been struggling with keeping my brain in the game so I went to go play it's four games in the final uh and I'm in the top four and I go to play a ball in all four games and I'm just like man I'm sweating I'm wearing this cute little new sundress it's not my lucky sundress i think uh the final format is a total of four games on my first ball i went up and i played terrible i was super nervous and i don't know why so i said to myself i'm like look rachel here we are we're in the top four and there were 60 people that enter the side tournament why are we like stressing out about it let's just play like the way we played the rest of the tilton tuesday night tournament and the way i played was let's just go up not I have any strategy in mind because I know what I need to do. So I just played intuitively. And let me tell you, when I decided to do that and just walk up to the game, appreciate it, and plunge, and away I go, I played better. So out of the four games, I took a first on three of the four games in the final. So I crushed it and took first place in the side tournament. Super exciting because it's the first time I've ever taken a first place. I think like probably not since I was like an eighth grade or something so as like Rachel as a person that's freaking cool that's awesome thank you Tim and as Rachel is the competitive pinball player like my mind was blown no I think I have a lucky sundress and lucky shoes and all of that now that I need to play in and I also want to say I had my tribe coin in my pocket which that does make a difference when I play usually play better when I've got it in there And I pull it out and I'm feeling a little, you know, like not bored between waiting for my next ball, but like thinking about stuff. That does help. So thanks for the tribe always being my pocket, too. So that's it. That's my big news. Just enjoying myself, enjoying my summer, too. Like kayaking, just want to enjoy, you know, the outside. Yeah, I saw the pictures on Facebook. You're having a good time. I am. Good non-pinball time. Yeah. Yeah. That's awesome. You got to do that, too. So, well, Carl Weathers in Wisconsin and the United States here can be – we get maybe four months of nice Carl Weathers. So I want to take advantage of it as long as I possibly can. I'll still play pinball, but just a little bit less. Yeah. Well, hey, guess what? I got your bad luck because I sucked in the tournament. The weird thing is I kept winning because everybody else sucked. I won a game of Adam's Family with only six million points. and it was like the other three people had like four million five million you know it was uh i just kept winning by people losing if that makes sense i totally understand how that makes sense i did also play at uh milwaukee it's called something else used to be milwaukee flippers jim ranovich's collection which is amazing i had an opportunity to go play there for his Saturday night monthly that he does. And it was really good. I played hot 10 rounds that they do. I played hot through round six, got hangry, and crapped out the last three or four rounds. But I had a really great time, and I loved being there. And he's such a great host. And the Mandalorian he had there had the baby Yoda, the moving animatronic Yoda with the ears and the eyes. It was so freaking cute, Tim, but very distracting. Yeah, I haven't seen that one. it looks really neat but I could see where it could be distracting constantly moving yes and I should mention too I also recently got to my super friend Dave he's a big fan of the show I did get to his collection and he has the Rudy's Nightmare uh installed on his fun house and that was really cool to play too I don't know if anybody else has had an opportunity um but shout out if you have because that is neat different set of rules uh there was actually a ball save on that game so it was a lot of fun yeah so getting around playing people's collections i like doing that too that's it i think that's that's a lot for being on a break well that's just because i had to talk you know i had to brag about myself a little bit there rightfully so brag away yeah you did awesome that's great thank you tim you know how hard i work at that um the funny thing is I'll tell you a funny thing is point wise it was like 20 26 points or 27 points it was great it bumped me back up in the top 16 women overall but but the next day I was bumped down by two spaces anyways because the women that are right there between the top 20 are right there in the cost between 6 15th and 20th place are all very close point wise so it was really cool had a big big night and a big big points and everything and it did help me uh but just kind of had a laugh because at the same time you know it didn't really matter either way yeah it's fun it's fun seeing that it's fun seeing the different uh my rank change and stuff so my girl becky meyer she's right there with me we're about two points apart we play district 82 together and she gives me like a little update she's like do you want to know i'm like yes i want to know because it's funny um but it's fun to have a friend to chase after that dream of too so awesome you ready for our guest yeah but real quick before we get to the guests you did want to say something about maybe some new listeners oh yeah i have noticed now a couple of things here i had boots and adam that came up to me at a different events at district 82 and told me that they're big fans and listeners. It's also helped to spark a nice friendship with my buddy Mark and a couple other people, too, that have said things. It's really neat seeing our podcast grow. And it's still kind of super embarrassing when people come up to me and say something. But at the same time, it's kind of special because I feel like, oh, we're getting noticed for our little silly podcast here, Tim. Yeah, second sloppiest show on the Internet. Thank you, everyone, for listening. thank you so much the numbers are growing I see the numbers I sent them to you they've grown a lot in the last six months so thank you everyone for listening we greatly appreciate it yes and I think a big thank you goes to Raymond Davidson because without him no I mean the best possible things thanks Raymond you're such a thank you for the show I know you listen to all the podcast stuff but I think it's so special that you listen to ours so yeah I think we could say his episode was the most listened to and it brought in a lot of new listeners and they appeared to have stayed because they came back for the next few episodes. Thanks, Raymond. Thanks, everybody that's here. Thanks for liking Ladies Flip. That's the other thing is managing that Facebook page. I have almost every day, somebody else knew that likes the page. I'm like, oh, cool. Then I think maybe I should post content. I'm like, eh, I'm enjoying other things right now. That is what it is. Okay. so I'm very excited about our next guest I know you are Tim we're working on those pinball relationships today and every day this gentleman has been a big help to Ladies Flip Wisconsin through stuff that he does I just really am appreciative of him he also gets a shout out I think every time that Drew records so for the average listener I think that you'll be very excited, too, about our guest today. Welcome to the show, tribe member number 39, Doc Ted Finlay. Finlay? Finlay. Finlay. Hey, guys. Hey, Ted. Welcome. Thank you. Very excited to be here. I hope I don't bring your numbers back down, but we'll do our best. Oh, no. What are you drinking today? I am just on tonic and lime. I'm just a straight tonic and lime guy now. Tim looked like he was drinking moonshine or something earlier. I didn't recognize that as a beer. I am drinking a Kentucky Cream Ale. It's actually a tangerine cream ale from Lexington Brewery, and it's really good. I got a case of it. I've been drinking it every night. How about you, Rachel? A case of it every night? No, no, no. Just one every night. I got a case and I drink one beer from the case. We're friends. I'm really stoked about what I'm drinking. I forgot when I, when I went to Columbus, Ohio, I bought some BrewDog beer and they have an Iron Maiden Hellcat and it's an American India pale lager, not an ale, but there it is guys. If you can see it, it's got some real tight art that's on it. Get the glare there. But anyways, that's what I'm drinking. Yeah, and I also want to say when I was out in Columbus, Ohio, I forgot to mention last episode that I saw Tribe members Tish and Pete Quint. What up, friends? Pete also did a little local reporting, and I posted that in the fan page. If you've not seen that, you should see Pete's little video. Yeah, I saw it. Yes. Fake news. Fake news. Fake news. Also, they're great, and maybe I'll post it in the fan page. But in the tribe page, I did post Pete. Whenever I see him, he looks very incognito, incognito. And he's wearing glasses, sunglasses, a hat and a Hawaiian shirt. He could be anybody. So I thought it'd be funny if we took a video of him playing pinball, wearing that and Tish wearing the same clothing and me wearing the same clothing. Maybe we'll have to cobble that together. But that was really fun. I forgot my tribe coins. So I had to buy them drinks and they bought me drinks. It was one heck of a Saturday night, let's just say. So anyways, this one's here for Pete and Tish. Enough about them. They've been on this show. I'm much more interested in you, Ted. Well, Pete's quite a musician, isn't he? He sure is. Absolutely. He blows his horn. That's how you can recognize him. Well, that's true. Natural Street Band. Check them out on Facebook. They do charity fundraising to help Project Pinball. Yeah, yeah. Pinball machines in different hospitals and so forth with Project Pinball. Yep. Pretty fantastic. Well, Ted, tell me a little bit about what you're doing right now in the pinball world. Well, it's been a little slow, except for the site we're going to talk about in a little while. I've been trying to put my efforts back into my website. As far as the pinball scene, I'm waiting on my Cactus Canyon Ellie remake. it will be my first new in box yes very excited for that i keep you know i was hearing april and then june and then august and now uh hearing maybe the fall so really waiting on that and so while i while i wait on that i'm i really like restoring pinball machines and so i've got a blackout, Williams 1980 blackout that I am restoring. I completely repainted the cabinets and then I've got an overlay for a new, well, a hard top from the Edge folks that I put in and just trying to get, I had to send the boards out to get those reworked, putting in some glow-in-the-dark rubbers on that and some UV lighting. So trying to really make it kick ass. Yeah, that'll be amazing. It'll be so beautiful. Really, really excited about that. And so only one working machine at the, at the moment, and that's an EM Gold Rush. That a really really fun EM with the spinner reels the sort of the old minor and Western theme And it got the roulette sort of wheel in the center that you spin and hit the stand up targets on So it's a fun game. I don't think I've played that, but I'm going to have to look it up. That sounds cool. Yeah, it sounds like it'll go perfect with Cactus Canyon. Western theme going. Yeah, yeah. There you go. You're going to enjoy Cactus Canyon. I've been playing it quite a lot, and it's a lot of fun. No, I can't wait. I'm just calling the distributor every couple of weeks and, you know, where is it? And now I hear Zach Menne say, oh, it's going to be when he gives his production updates on that other podcast we won't talk about. He always keeps pushing, and the rumors aren't true, that TPN is not moving over and being absorbed by the TPPN. Are they? That's what I was reading. Canada was saying we're going to take over the tribes taking over the airways. Yes, absolutely. Yeah, you broke the news. Everybody gathers in, right. We love all here, so everybody is accepted and welcomed, for sure. Actually, it's a hostile takeover. I'm just a front-line man. Yeah. We love Zach. You're allowed to say his podcast name. He's a sponsor of the Poor Men's Femme Ball Podcast. So absolutely. Even if he did steal my market trends segment. Oh, yeah. All right. So how many machines have you restored? You know, quite a few now. I've I really enjoy it. The latest few have been some unusual pinball machines. Bugs Bunny Birthday Ball was one. I played that one. Yeah. Can you guess where it ranks on the pinball rankings? On the bottom? 315. Second to last. As I say, it's near the bottom. Yeah. But this machine sorely needed help, and I got new decals on the sides and completely stripped the playfield. and there's no they don't make playfields for Bugs Bunny anymore so what I did was uh when it before stripping it completely scanned the play field uh put it into uh photoshop and spent hours and hours recoloring everything and then I had a printer print out a vinyl decal uh of the entire play field one big decal put that on the strip play field and then clear coated it and then rebuilt it so it's uh it looked amazing after getting that decal on that's pretty awesome now was that your idea or have you seen people do that i kept you know when you go in the grocery store and you look down and there's these decals on the aisles you know or in stores advertising different products and they always you know big giant decals and they always seem to be in pretty good shape uh and so you know i thought well we'll just print a big decal of the playfield and a lower play field. It has a lower play field in it. And then put a quick little bit of clear coat on it and didn't want to invest too much money in it. It's not exactly the hottest selling pinball machine. But I love the theme. I mean, I kind of, I get into themes like that. And Gilligan's Island, I did a little bit of work on. And Strange Science, I restored a rock-in Bullwinkle that my brother, I sold to my brother. and Super Mario Brothers. I love those kind of odd little titles. The Super Mario Brothers, is that the one that's like almost a mini game? No, that's Mr. and Mrs. Pac-Man. Is that what you're thinking about? Okay, maybe that's what I'm thinking of. I'm trying to think if I play the Super Mario Brothers, but I do like Gilligan's Island. It's kind of a weird game, kind of a strange rule set maybe, and it's kind of boring like rule set wise, but I thought it was really kind of a fun game with the mech that's in there. And of course you got to like the music. Yeah. You know, that was my era of television growing up watching Gilligan's Island every day after school. So that's what attracted me to that machine. Yeah. I bet it resonated with you. Yeah. I just played it for the first time at Pinbrew and it was okay. I didn't, it was, it was different. Like you said, it was a kind of a boring role set, But it was at a show, and theirs wasn't playing very well. But it was neat. I was really glad to play one, and I played Bugs Bunny recently at PA Pinball. And I will say it was so bad that I liked it. It was just so bad it was good, and I like those games. I would have a Raven. I've tried to buy a Raven before because they're so bad they're good. I never played Strange Science, Ted. Me neither. I played the other ones. that's a fun that's one of those titles where they couldn't they didn't want to pay for the license for weird science the 1980s movie so they just call it strange science and kind of put put everything else from the movie in there and you're you know so that's a kind of odd title they did that a lot uh when they couldn't get the license just changed the name yeah was it laser laser war instead of laser tag yeah uh f-14 tomcat yeah instead of the other one Golden Wing. Is that the other one? There's two of them that are supposed to be top-down. The Miami Vice one. What was that? They have the guy that looks like Crockett and Tubbs. Yeah, yeah. Hollywood Heat. Hollywood Heat. There you go. Hollywood Heat. I think it was Hollywood Heat. Something Heat. Bugs Bunny is an extremely boring, simple game. Which is a shame because It's a great theme to blow on a really bad design, but it's perfect for if you have a five- or six-year-old kid. Or Drew. Does it have a center post? Just asking for a friend. Yeah. I am. I'm just asking for a friend. I'm sure you can install one. Okay. That's pretty cool. I did learn that the center post that's on Ghostbusters, it's kind of like this layover kit. kit thing that just kind of goes over the top of the game i thought that was really neat or somebody that's how they had it modded on their game when they had it i'm like center post get that crap out of there but you know yeah that way you don't have to drill you know through the play right right i thought that was really neat that i thought okay the only way to do it would be to drill through the play field so it's kind of cool that there's like a modification that you can just pop pop on there that went around the sling or something i'm like oh this is neat you know I keep learning cool stuff. Like, the whole restoring of games, that blows my mind and fascinates me. Having the ability to, like, I'm just going to decide, I'm going to paint this thing, and then instead of just doing, like, the regular paint thing, I'm going to add the UV stuff in there so that it's going to trip that person out when they're playing it in the right lighting. I love all of that. But to me, like, my brain, I don't think that I'm there. I'm not there yet in the idea of being able to repair and fix or restore a game. I'm going to come visit you, and we're going to do a workshop. Or you come visit me, and we'll do a workshop. We'll try to find you a dolly machine, and I would have driven that up there for you. Oh, I know. We'll get there. We'll talk about dolly a little bit here, too. Ted's been so kind. not once but twice now he has spotted a a dolly pinball machine for me and he's like i see it rachel i see it let's see what the price is on there and i'm like hmm you know if there's anybody that i'm going to listen to if there's a good price on the game you know who it's going to be my buddy doc over at pinballprices.com tell me about that tell us about pinballprices.com Tell me about how that came to life. Well, it was pretty self-serving to begin with because I got into pinball in December of 2016. A friend at work had a pinball collection that he was trying to whittle down, and he started talking about it. And I went over there and saw his pinball machines. He had a taxi and a Super Mario Brothers and a couple others. and I really fell in love with the Super Mario Brothers because of the theme and never having played much pinball at all. You know, the simple rule set and stuff really didn't bother me at the time because it was, you know, it was all new. And I bought that from him right before Christmas in 2016. And I didn't know, you know, I think I paid $1,700 for it at the time. And I had no idea if I was getting a good deal or if, you know, he was totally taking advantage of me. I mean, he was a coworker, so I figured he was giving me a good price, but I didn't know. And so I started looking out on the internet. I said, surely somebody has a guide out there to tell you what the prices should be. And I found some really old printed guides that, you know, they were five, six years old and weren't being updated. And a couple of sites that hadn't been updated in several years that looked like they were trying to be a a pinball guide. And so I just decided to start my own, uh, and start to, you know, help other people out. And so that we can figure out, you know, uh, what the proper price should be on things. A lot of that's been thrown out the window last year or so, but just, you know, and it, I got to learn how to build websites. I didn't know how to do that. So I got to learn, to do that and that was a lot of fun but it's just something i love doing i'm a data kind of guy i'm professionally i do a lot of statistics and market research and that sort of thing so i love the numbers and uh you know it's fun seeing what uh everything's out there for i appreciate it i love the site i use it all the time yep me too me too all the time and i want to same when we're just talking about dolly parton for example when you you saw one at southern southern fry gaming expo last year i believe and you're like rachel found your game this is your game but he wanted too much for it i think or he wanted like what was top like top line at the time and uh about a week ago a week or two weeks within the last two weeks you sent me another message about one that you saw at an auction and i've just pulled up and that must have gone for a big honk and penny because I pulled up on pinballprices.com the dollar part and game and just looking on there what it's been since 2018 was the first recorded sale and what I like about that when you look back at 2018 you can also go in and you can look at the three or you can look at each of the different sales so you can see was it actually from ebay was it actually from pin side what was the condition looking like was it good or working was it as is meaning man it might not even start when you you know plug it in um so it's it's great to have that little bit more variety of saying okay we we know that we know what the game condition is we've got multiple different prices that that game sold for in different states in different conditions if that makes sense so to me as a buyer i'm more interested in that as versus what is just one flat market price and when i look at and there's nothing wrong with pin side and the way they do their stuff but for me when i look at it as a person's going to purchase it i find it like everyone says their game is great you know and not everybody's game really is great or really should be selling for the same 8200 or whatever the case may be as i like a new because i've been a pinball too since 2019 right so thank you because you on behalf of me and a lot of bunch of other people thank you for providing that service because as a trying to be a good consumer is a big part of it too. Yeah, absolutely. And the other feature that you were talking about is on all those sales, except for the eBay sales, you can click on the link. There's a hyperlink for every sale. You click on that. It'll take you directly to the pin side ad and the price. So where you can look at the condition a little bit more and kind of take a look at it. They keep their archive up forever, it seems. Now, eBay, after 90 days, the eBay listings will disappear, unable to do the hyperlink for the eBay ones. But the others, if they're from auction sites like Everything But the House or Live Auctioneers or Proxibid, you may have to start an account with them to see the exact sale, but all the hyperlinks are in there. Right. So, yeah. And, you know, I try to get a variety of sites. You know, I collect from Pinside and eBay and from the auction houses as best we can uh caught some flack in the past on when i've talked about the site on on pin side i don't know if you know it but on pin side sometimes there's trolls that uh just want to just want to you know just rag on on any any good thing out there and i've i've stopped even posting about the site on pin side they say why are you putting ebay sales that's not realistic you know ebay you know they're crazy but it's part of them what i told them and what i put on my site is it's part of the market sure is they're selling thousands and thousands of pinball machines and uh it may not be at the price you want to pay but it's the price a lot of people are paying right so looking at the last sale of dolly parton that was on ebay guess how much that went for tim you're never gonna believe it four grand 4600 4600 that's bonkers i don't think i would spend more than 2500 i think would be capped because and it's got to be a really nice playing game not a player's condition but like a very good condition game like i don't to me i think that's like top market price for that game because you know what it's a one trick pony it doesn't even have a multiball you know it's not like it's so i'm looking for it for the title yes but i'm looking for it because it brings pleasure and memories and happiness to me but i'm not going to pay twice the amount amount of money for it so but no i i can also oh also trolls you know on medieval madness there's trolls that pop up and also on what lord of the rings or is it the hobbit whatever you know what i do is i just take the ball and i bash them right in the mother right in the oh i almost swore i just bash them in the face i just take that ball and flip it right in their flipping face because here's the thing with trolls nobody has time for that and that and if you're trolling people whether it be on facebook or on the airwaves or whatever dude what is wrong with you you've got some issues going on because if anything we should be you know trying to uplift and support each other and if there's actual honest questions there ted i know you're like yep here's the information here's the proof in the pudding you know and you're just trying to provide the information why do you have to crap on it grow up people absolutely i got your back i got your back ted i got your back absolutely and the whole tribe i gotta tell you a little story the whole tribe has uh each other's back because uh it's been a little while but uh on facebook i had posted about pinballprices.com and explained what it was all about and i don't know what this guy's problem was but he just started ripping into it just you know paragraph and paragraphs about why it wasn't why my data wasn't accurate uh and hadn't even bothered to read where I collect my data that's right there on the website. And so it hurt a little. It stung a little. And so I kind of let the tribe know that someone was out there. And, boy, they just, whether it was Glenn or Drew or Ian, everybody just jumped on this guy and just destroyed him. I haven't seen him since. So it was beautiful to have the tribe behind you. Yeah, always. and again life is just too short for that kind of garbage uh because there's still but but for all that negativity i hope you realize how many people you really are helping with pinballprices.com yeah i was very pleasantly surprised uh i looked at my one year statistics uh for this last year up till just a few a couple weeks ago and it was uh just over 20 000 unique visitors to the site. And it's up 40% this calendar year. That's because pinball prices are up 40%. Or whatever. And it's funny. I think because I've been out there on Facebook and the show and other places, I think, well, everybody must, a lot of people must know about this. And I just posted on a Facebook page, a lot of newbies on Facebook pinball sites, But I just posted on the local Georgia Pinball and Arcade Facebook site and had 100 hits that day. And so many people telling me, I've never heard of this site. This is great. You know, why didn't I know about this? So I was very stoked that even the local folks didn't know about it, but they were finding it. Right. And what a useful tool it is. Yeah. I was just using it earlier. So do you mind if I ask you a question, Ted, about the site? No. I have a machine I want to sell. And like I passed on Toy Story, I have another machine that I did not pass on, but honestly, I have no desire to own. I have a Godzilla limited edition, and I want to move it, and I want to get a premium because in my mind, the bells and whistles don't matter at all. and I want to be able to shake it. It has a no shake rule in the house. And I do like to nudge and so forth, but the game is so expensive. And I was talking to you earlier today on how I should price it. So where do you think I should price that bad boy? I told you I offered you top dollar $2,000 and you just didn't take that. I think my site now has it at $1,500. I don't know who got into that data. Yeah. Yeah, you're like, look, it's completely accurate. You forgot a zero. No, I was looking into that, and the prices are moving so fast right now. So I was looking at what the averages were of the sales in 2021 and just recently, and on average, they were selling for about $14.5 up until 2022. too. But the last few months, the average selling price is moving up over $15,000. And I just took a look at Pinside earlier today real quickly for you And there seven LEs on the market which to me is quite a bit for an LE to have seven Godzilla LEs out there on pin side The low was and the high was a new in box that somebody wanted for Wow. They're not getting that. They will not get $23,000 because right next to that was a new in box for $19,600. So nobody's going to pay an additional $4,000 just for this guy's new inbox when there's another new inbox right next to it. But I think taking a look at all of them, $16,500, as high as that sounds, that's kind of what they're moving at right now. It's just – it's incredible. I imagine you didn't quite pay that. No, no. I paid – I don't lie. I paid cost. and I was thinking about posting it for $14. So I'm under. The numbers tell me that I'm pricing it too low. I started $16.5 or $16 and I felt badly. I sold my Super Mario just a few weeks ago to a gentleman here in Atlanta and I know I could have gotten $1,000 more for it, but he wanted it for his kids and stuff like that And I didn't – I doubled my money from what I paid, and I just didn't want to go any higher than that. It just didn't seem right. Yeah, I get it. But they are going up, and they keep going up. All right. Well, thank you, Doc. That was your test. I told you you were going to get tested. And if anybody can help me get a premium, there will be a limited edition on the market the day after. There you go. I have a – I don't know if we'll do it right now, but I have a test for you two. Oh. You guys did so well on Andrew Payne's game show. Oh, no. That I thought I'd introduce the Price is Right, cue the Price is Right music. Got a couple of quick – it might be easier than Andrew's three-second audio clips, but we can get into that down the road. I do have one thought, though, about I want you to just talk a little bit about your thoughts about pinball auctions, because the second Dolly game that you saw for me, tell me a little bit about what that looked like. What was. Yeah, I love following the auctions and there's a few sites I list them on on my website. places like everything but the house live auctioneers proxy bid barnabies uh you could go and just search pinball and uh you know you you can get some good deals and there's some some watch outs and i'll talk a little bit about that but dolly specifically when we started looking at it when i reached out to you about it it was under two thousand dollars uh a couple days or the day before the auction and i put it end up with the premium i think it was close to four thousand dollars when it finally sold and that's a little little out of uh you know it was a nice dolly but it was you know when they're being sold at auction they don't take the best pictures They never take off the glass to show you the play field, and you kind of just have to sometimes take a shot. And if that shot was at 50% of average sale price, then it's okay if you get it and there's some major things wrong because you got a good deal. But to overpay that high, highly, and not know what you're getting is crazy. It's crazy. Yeah, so let me ask you, and I'm going to hope you forget about the game, so I'm going to try to distract you. But I know we've talked. You watch all the auction sites for all the pinball machines. Does anybody ever get a deal at an auction in pinball? I mean are they out there, or is everyone overpaying at every auction? I tell you, I'm kicking myself because I missed one. I just didn't want to invest the capital in things. But there was an auction on just this past, on the 14th of this month. And it was a, it was like at noon or somewhere on the 14th. And I believe the 14th was the day Toy Story came out. And there were not a lot of bid. There were 21 pinball machines that were sold on this auction out of Oklahoma. And that's the other thing about auctions. You either have to be close to where the auction is, have a friend who's close, or you know you got to tack on that 400 500 for shipping for sure and then you also have to tack on the buyer's premium which is usually anywhere from 18 to 25 percent on top of what is called a hammer price so when that auction closes and you've bid you know two thousand dollars for something if there's a 20 percent uh buyer's premium you're actually paying 2400 for that so but there was i think it was because everyone was distracted with with toy story this auction that occurred on the 14th i've got a list of some of the ones that i think were really good deals out of these 21 the adams family you could have picked up for about 6700 is what it's all for oh no shut up that was so cheap so cheap yeah that was with the buyer's premium so all these prices are your final cost to you uh there was a uh a diner uh i know people are really split on whether they like diner or not i love the theme but the sound is kind of annoying i love it yeah that was eighteen hundred dollars no yes i i haven't seen one below four grand i've been looking for one and then rachel i believe you're a mousing around fan yes could have picked it up for 1276 $276 Ted you gotta send me these next time you find them I know I was a day late too I gotta admit I was a day late I was focused on Toy Story and the launch and watching all that madness can you imagine if one person bought a whole bunch of those for $10,000 and bought probably all the freaking games you know what I'm saying that just blows my mind good for you person out there Earthshaker was $1,200 Oh, my God. So there are. Are you sure you weren't on like a 2017 site? No, this was in the middle of Oklahoma somewhere, and it was an arcade company. They also were selling a lot of arcade games. Yeah, it was amazing, the deals. Now, that's not always the case. A lot of these auctions are very, people are very focused on them, and newbies come in there and like we saw with Dolly and greatly overpay because the auction houses always say you know our estimate is you know four thousand dollars to ten thousand dollars they're always estimated made it high and they don't the only thing you got to watch out for there's not always very accurate sometimes in their descriptions uh this auction in Oklahoma had Star Trek was actually listed as a Star Wars machine so all the description was for Star Wars it was actually Star Trek the next generation and then this one we'll see how well you know pinball here there was a pinball called the King's Ransom for auction and that struck me because I I've you know on the on the site alone we have almost 1300 different titles so I'm pretty good at remembering if I've heard a title of a pinball machine, and the King's Ransom just didn't. I thought, well, maybe it's an Italian machine or something like that. Rachel or Tim, do you know what the machine actually was if it was called the King's Ransom? I want to say it's Kings of Steel. Yeah, I've never heard of it. There's a machine that has the King's Ransom multiball. Oh, Black Knight, yeah. Yeah, I was just about to say it. Black Knight, yeah. Black Knight. Yep. But the King's Ransom is what's written on the – Yeah, it says Ransom across the back of Black Knight 2000. Travis Murray, you're the pinball player there in Oklahoma. You're the competitive pinball player, the number one guy there in Oklahoma. Travis Murray, if you bought any of my games and you listen to my sloppy podcast, I want to hear from you because that cracks me up. I want to know who got these amazing deals, amazing deals on some cool games. That's so funny. And the thing about – as I said, the thing about these kind of prices on an auction is you have room to fix them and still be below value. You can replace almost all the boards and still have room to work. So keep an eye out for it. I list – I try to list as many of the auctions as I can on my site. If you don't go right to the price guide, there's a click to go to auctions, and I try to keep that a little more up to date and try to catch some of these. But the thing is the more people that show up at these things, the higher the prices seem to go. For sure. So it's out there. You've got to look. There are still some deals. Well, thanks for doing the hard work for the rest of us. I really appreciate it. I do, for sure. I do as well. Thank you. I don't have to look now. Just go use your link. That's it. I will say for as far as mouse and around that drew and I did come to an agreement of trading my demolition man for his mouse and around with some cash on top. So I feel like I definitely came out with a better deal because I bought the, bought the game at 3,200 and he was selling mouse and around at 2,800 and it was a nice chunk of change on top. So I feel like I'm coming out ahead. Maybe he's being so kind because he's my friend, but, but now the question is because that's a super wide body game holy crap that super pin I had to take the front door of my apartment off to get it in so I'll have to take it back off to get it out but I think I'm trying to round up a friend or two to help me with that maybe over 4th of July weekend I can't wait to get my mouse in a round I am a crazy cat lady and Tim because you were there you helped broker that deal I will send you a gift box of cheese nice good wisconsin cheese best cheese squeaky cheese curds i'm going to get it from cedar valley cheese which is right here in my county that i live in they be able to go to johnsonville sausage and send you some brats too i don't know that's my commission food there you go it's a good commission but i really want to know more about this game i love games of all sorts card games pinball video games, brain puzzles. I like it all. What's this Price is Right we're talking about? Well, it about wraps it up, everyone. Happy flipping. We've got a couple of events for you. The first is going to be a team event that you can both kind of decide on it. And then the second will be a little bit of a competition. And so you know on the Price is Right that sometimes the guess is which is more expensive. So we're going to have a little – three different sets of games, and we're going to decide – you two are going to decide which is more expensive. Now, these are based on 2021 average sales price that we have on pinballprice.com. Close that website, Rachel. I did. So let's just jump into this. Okay, the first one, and you guys can discuss it among yourself. We'll see how good you are. Which is more expensive on average sale price this past year, Adam's Family or Twilight Zone? Oh, wow. That might be hard because Twilight Zone has really kind of come up to him. I would still say Adam's Family because I think that's like a $20,000 game now. What do you think? See, I was selling an Adam's Family, and they were going between 8 and 10. But I feel like Twilight Zone was right there, and I would go Twilight Zone, but – I'm going to go with Tim Lee. I'm going to go with Tim Lee. Adam's family. You suck at pinball prices. Why would you listen to me? Yeah, Adam's family average price was just over $9,700. And actually, Adam's Family, a little factoid on that, Adam's Family is the – I believe it's the number one traded pinball machine that I have on the site. So it's really up there. Twilight Zone is also up there, but not quite. So Twilight Zone was $8,400 average price. Adam's Family, as I said, $97. Okay, well, let's see. Adam's Family is a great game for me, definitely. Twilight Zone, eh, I played some really cool ones. in Fox News Pinball League. I think everybody has one in their homes. They're great games, but it's just not the game for me. I traded my Addams Family for my lovely wife's Grail game that she really wanted. Good man. Halloween. Was I wrong in doing that, Doc? I'm not going to go against anything that Miss Amy wants. Correct answer. Okay, the next one. Which is more expensive? Deadpool Premium or Ghostbusters Premium? Ghostbusters Premium. Ooh, that's hard. I'm going with Rachel, Ghostbusters, because it was – I feel like I saw it at like $12,000 at one point. Right, $14,000. And they're still making Deadpool, so I'm going with Rachel. You're smart to go with Rachel. Yes, Ghostbusters Premium. You're scaring me. In 2021, $8,800. Deadpool was about $7,800, almost $7,900. So, okay, one more on this game. I think you'll get this one. But Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pro or Funhaus? Not Funhaus 2, but Funhaus. Man. Kind of mixing eras here. You know, how much was a New Turtles, Tim? Do you know a New Turtles Pro? $7,500, $7,800? mine was in the fives but they're up to 69 they're up to 6900 msrp now so the street price is like 65 and that was towards the end of the year i'm gonna say funhouse yeah me too because i think turtles is around 5500 average funhouse i'm gonna say it's probably 6500 or 7000 for the game so which one are we going with we're going with funhouse especially with the new additions you are right 6800 is the average price so very good that will help you in the next game and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pro is about 5600 ok I was close on that you guys got 2 out of 3 not bad and it wasn't Plinko now Plinko is my favorite prices were 80 oh sorry but I'm having a ball I'll work on that ok well how about this one This is a direct competition here on this. This is closest to the average price without going over. One dollar. So we're going to give – we're going to let Rachel start us off here and then – but we'll go – we have three. So you'll get to go first twice, Rachel. And, of course, Tim, if you think she's high, you know what to price it. if you think she's low uh you know you add that dollar to whatever hers the first one is captain fantastic and and while you think about captain fantastic it is deemed it is the second most popular game that gets sold on pinside and ebay it is constantly switching hands isn't there like a full name to that game captain fantastic and the brown dirt cowboys or something and the brown Dirt Cowboys, is that what it is? Okay, I'm going to say that game is I'm going to say man, $3,500. Tim, what's your guess? $3,501. You're both wrong. You're both over. It's $3,100. Ah! It is close. I tried to be mean and I lost. Okay. Well, Tim, you're going to go first this time. We'll bring it up to a little more modern age. Stranger Things Premium. What do you think the average selling price last year – well, actually, excuse me. This is in 2022, and there has been five sold in 2022 that I've been able to record the price. Stranger Things Premium in 2022. $9,500. $1. You're both wrong again. it's 13,000 Stranger Things Premium 13,000 wait wouldn't I win? I guessed 95 I didn't go over oh that's true yes you did sorry I was way off though way off that's going to be like 9 grand okay that's crazy I wish I had one it is you know nobody liked it and then everybody had to have it with the UV kit yeah I got mine I've told the story. I got mine with 19 plays because when Kaneda was ripping it and everybody was going crazy, a guy dropped it like $800 from what he bought it after 19 plays, said he felt like he was going to lose his shirt. And I bet you it's gone way up in price now. That's on the pro. Yeah. All right. I got one. Rachel, I think I've heard you talk about this game that you like it. I'm not sure. Demolition Man. Yeah. Is that one you like? Yes. So, Rachel, what's the average price it's selling for in 2022 without going over? Without going over, the average price in 2022, I'm going to say is, I'm going to go on the low end because I don't want to go over, so I'm going to say $3,200. Tim, what say you? I'm going to say $3,800. Rachel, $3,418 is the average price. You were over, Tim. I was going to say $3,500, so I knew that was spot on. So like I said, I made a good deal on selling mine. Absolutely. So I think overall you did better than Andrew's quiz. For sure. We didn't want to talk about Andrew's quiz ever again. I wanted to build your confidence back up. I appreciate that. because now I feel like I know something about pinball. Even Andrew said like one good call out to be really good. I want to say it was so funny. The people that responded like by message or when I ran into, bumped into them, that gave me such a hard time. They're like, Rachel, it's not the most of the round sound at least. I'm like, I'm sorry. There's like so much noise going on. I don't can't, I can't hear it all. You know, I didn't even know most around had like this cool little chill music going on. stuff going on in the back I had no idea because they couldn hear it Unless you play them at home how can you ever hear them you know you don you don hear that right oh thank you so much ted i really appreciated that yeah that was fun you know what this means rachel everybody going to quiz us on something from here on out i love games you know me too i love all that kind of stuff big part of who i am that's why i play pinball because pinball is like a never-ending puzzle, right? How is the ball going to drain? Is it going to hit dead bounce on the flip or is it too low on the flip of the dead bounce over? It's always figuring stuff out. I like that. Awesome. Yeah, that was cool. I did much better. I feel much better after this one. After all the games you buy and sell, you should do well on this. Yeah. Yeah. I haven't bought one since the last show. That's good. That's quite a record. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, are there, at this point, Tim Lee or Ted, are there games that you, that are grail games for you that you'd like to have, that you'd like to have in your home to play and hang out with for a while? You know, there's, I'm just looking forward to Cactus Canyon remake. I love Western themes. I love the West. I'm originally from Texas. So I love that. You know, as far as unmade or dream themes, I'm with Drew. and that's Futurama as a dream team. I think they could do so much with that. Unless it's J.J.P. Too soon. Too soon. J.J.P. three years ago, I'll take it. Hey, I'm looking forward to playing Toy Story 4 just for what it is. Me too. And the art on it looks really cool. And, you know, maybe, I don't know how many times I'll have to listen to You've Got a Friend in Me. I mean, I do like the song, but I did look at the rule set on it, though. And as a player, the rule set looked like fun. And I did check a couple people that had been playing it at Interium, I think it's called, which is an arcade down in Chicago area. And a bunch of people, when it was released, the first day they got it, people went to play it. And it seemed like the code needed updating, but that's true with any game. But people walked away saying it was a fun time playing it. And I think that's the most important thing there with any game. so I wish I could afford it you know the thing is quite frankly I wish I could afford a JJP and I think that's the only thing for me it's like their games are really beautiful and they're fun and their rule sets and man like that Guns and Roses still like that is such a cool game to play at the light show all the stuff the Wonka I love all their games but it's really hard as a consumer you know for 15 grand I could go live in freaking Scotland for three months or whatever you know that's a lot of money for me to as a single person to invest in something that's purely entertainment now with that said as a family your family you're for and you're doing well and your person that's in the hobby it's easier to like ascertain yep i can spend get the money together i can sell two other games and come up with that so it really depends on perspective i want to say one other thing here about that tim lee had posted part of one reason i love our tribe as tim lee had also posted in our tribe and there's over 50 comments of people talking really about toy story and the price point there because depending on what kind of poor man you are poor women you are that makes a difference as to if you're able to spend that money me i'm like now that i've got a couple games i can trade i can you know that's fun i can trade make a little cash whatever makes a little bit of a difference when i first got into hobby buying my first game was very difficult to part with $1,100 for my lost world or $1,050 I think is what he ended up selling it to me for but the point is is that I think that depending on it really depends on the person's wealth and pinball really definitely is a rich man's game and if you've got to be a poor man and hustle in order to you know be able to to get that game so I love you JJP but that's a tough even 12 grand that's a tough price point i just can't understand like i mean i do get it because it's cost of parts and production and all these other things that go into it i do get it but man i 7500 seems like plenty enough for a game i don't know and and i think that's not a diss and it's not a diss just on jjp it's like on everybody you know not even a diss it's more just like here's the thing it's a lot of freaking money so just try to figure it out until you get into a hobby for a while or you save you know that's it too so yeah i i was just so disappointed when i saw a toy story and it could be the most fun game and i will tell everybody on the show when i play it next week if it's fun but i expected wizard of oz right i just you know and i'm going and it looks more like a stern to be honest with you um it's got a little less on the play field and we had been building up to this game for so many years and i didn't get on like i told people to make your own decision play it make your own decision i was just disappointed and i couldn't you know i think it was on slam tilt i think it was bruce had said that he went to the to the nissan website and there's a car that was fifteen thousand dollars so there's an actual car you can buy for that price and i just wasn't willing to shill out that money if it were priced along along the lines of a stern you would hear me talking right now about ordering one so i was you know i'm not i'm not going to bash the people like it if you like it you want to buy it you do what you do have a great time yeah and i'll go to helicon and i'll play it and um you know it is what it is but back to your original question ted grail games so of games that are made the only three games that I really want. Now, I get a lot of games, but I have wanted a Star Wars Day to East since the day that it got me back into pinball. That's the game that got me and my family into pinball three, three and a half years ago. We had one at a beach house. So I want it for sentimental value. I want a Black Knight Sword of Rage Premium. I really want that game and I should have bought it when it was cheap. And the other game I want is a Cyclone. It's not that fun, but that was the game I played most as a child. And the other games, I can get rid of them. I can, you know, I can bring them in, get rid of them and play them. I mean, I want a Spider-Man. And then games that aren't made, everybody knows I want a Transformers 1984. I don't know why I didn't buy Transformers, the existing Stern game, two years ago, because I've played it 500 times since the last show. I mean, I just keep playing it. You know, it's a lot of its themes. So those are my grills. I wish I had known that, Tim. I sold the Star Wars Data East it's been a couple years now but it was, I loved that game it was fun, it is repetitive but just the theme was fantastic and it's a fun game, I sold it to an advertising agency actually that was putting it in their office and they just decked that out they put the color DMD in there, they put pin sound it is amazing with pin sound to hear the difference that that makes and they put a shaker motor in it and they just deck that thing out and it's you know i still go over and play it sometimes and it's just uh a beautiful game like that i was going to say just very quickly about the the prices on things you know for me the 15 000 i'm paying 9 000 for cactus canyon remake six thousand dollars difference for top of the line cgc versus the jjp and to me it's just a matter of value i can go out and buy a couple of 80s games for that additional $6,000. Right. So, you know, and I sold one of my Grail games, Twilight Zone. Now, I was smart enough in order to fund Cactus Canyon, I was smart enough to sell it to a neighbor two doors down so I can go play it anytime I want. Yeah. Got the price I wanted and it's two doors down. Right. That's the way to go. I'm just speaking, you know, I think I'm just speaking from, you know, there's kind of a little bit of a joke that, you know, we're not necessarily poor men or poor women. But my own way, I always treat myself in my head that I am, even though I make a decent living and I'm an independent, self-sufficient woman, all great stuff. I just have to still be frugal. And I think maybe that's just part of my upbringing, too. It just like it freaks me out, freaked me out to spend the money I did on my new box made and buddy did it. And I love it. you did give us a little bit of your tribe story you did give us a little bit of that uh when you talked about your pinball restoration uh are you still friends with this guy that kind of got you into pinball uh no i've moved on from from the company and he's moved on from all his pins i believe so interesting i wish i had uh he had a really nice taxi i wish i had known I love that game that's a fun game such a classic game to play but no he's the one that got me started on it all and you know as you all well know you can't just have one pinball machine never it doesn't work like that at all I was told that when I first got into the hobby and I know there's no way I'm going to have it's just no it's not no And then you learn to trade and flip and fix up, and it suddenly becomes a great hobby to be in. Yeah. One other thing that I want to talk, just looking at our show notes before I let you go today, is you did mention your passion project is a 1947 Humpty Dumpty. Do you have one in your possession? I have two. Shut up. Yes. I bought many years ago right after I got in. I found a couple of them. I figured I needed two because being that old, they're actually 75 years old, 75th anniversary of that machine. And for any listeners that don't know, this is the machine that started it all because they had pinball before 1947. But Humpty Dumpty was the very first pinball machine with flippers. Right. It was before it was plunge and see what happens. And that's why it was kind of considered gambling. But Humpty Dumpty was the first to put in the flippers. They had six flippers, actually. They just didn't put in two. They have six flippers. Each side has three, and they're all controlled by the same button. So when you push the flipper button on the right side, all three flippers. And they actually flip the opposite direction from what modern games flip. so that's a little odd to to think about that just think about instead of sweeping clockwise they sweep counterclockwise yeah i'm looking at it it's it's pretty interesting weird for sure interesting that's interesting i have been promising the guys at southern fried gaming expo that i would have this machine ready for uh uh to display there i i really want for for every year I tell them that and I'm on the final stages of it I decided I'm not going to re I was had some thoughts about redoing the play field and having it all completely repainted I repainted the cabinet but I'm going to leave the play field it's actually an amazing shape for a 75 year old machine and I'm now having the the back glass both back glasses restored because they were so badly flaked. I've got two just so I can kind of have one completely apart, and I still use the other one as sort of my model of how to put it back together. Great. So that makes sense. Smart, yeah. That would be the way I would have to do it, especially, I mean, is there even a schematic or anything for that at this point? No, there isn't, and that's why I left it. You know, it's pretty simple mechanics in there. It's not too bad at all. But, you know, had a lot of the plastics redone. I had custom gentlemen down in Florida made the posts. The posts are very different than what modern posts are, and they were badly faded and cracked. And so I commissioned this guy down in Florida to do 3D printings of the exact copies of the posts so that it could look original. That is super rad. I cannot wait to see pictures and video of that, of the completed project. That is so neat. So neat. I'm very excited about it. Well, my final question, which is probably the most difficult question of all questions. Are you ready? Absolutely. That's the right answer. How did you become a tribe member? How did you get into the tribe, Ted? Oh, wow. This is unexpected. I threw a curveball at you yeah this is totally unexpected guys I thank you for asking me I you know I was thinking about that I just in case someone might ask me and and it was it was about a year or so a couple years after I got in so I don't know 2018-2019 I don't even remember but it was shortly after I got into pinball and had a few machines and flipped a few machines and And I was taking a road trip down to Florida, going down there. I honestly think I was going down to pick up a machine. And on this eight hour trip, I was, you know, I found out, oh, pinball has podcasts, you know. And so I was trying different podcasts and couldn't understand some of the Australian accents very well. And stumbled across Ian and Drew and spent the next. This is your cringe. of this, I spent the next eight hours listening to the shows. And I was hooked. No, I was hooked. Driving in the car, I was going to pick up the pinball machine and these guys talking about it and having so much fun talking about it. And I said, I got to listen to that. And so I've listened to every show since then. Lucky enough to be on one. And I wanted a little self-serving because I had the website and had no idea how I was going to promote my website and started sending them what I thought I could to become an unofficial sponsor of the Poor Man Spinball podcast. So I started sending them boxes of liquor. Smart. So I think the first one – and I try to keep it mostly southern. I think the first one was Jack Daniel's Honey Whiskey, a bottle of that. put that right in the freezer and take that out and have a, that's a friend of mine's, that's his favorite. And that's great. So whenever I go over there, I can say, can you have a shot? I'm like, yep. Cause right out of the, right out of the freezer, right to my lips, baby. That stuff's great. Yeah. And I think the next box was my Southern box. I sent him these little things, a moonshine, a bunch of moonshine, peach schnapps from Georgia. You got to have peaches. And I had a moon pie in there for them. I wasn't the one that sent them all the moon pies, but I was the one that sent them the first moon pie. And, you know, after a while, they just had to drag me into the tribe. I was a sponsor for quite a while before becoming the tribe, but it was fun. They just started using me. I kept signing all my emails to the unofficial sponsor or the poor man in every box. So they gave in. All right, so you bought your way in. Yeah, absolutely. With booze. With booze. everybody has one way in for sure I love that that's a great tribe story right there fantastic alright well hey one more time go plug your website and so everybody knows please visit pinballprices.com it's a great site if you're buying or selling you don't want to sell it for less than what you can get for it and you don't want to overpay and you know we use data from all different sources whether you're buying on ebay or buying on pin side neither one of them is always the best price you know you can see uh sometimes ebay you can get a better price amazingly uh because they don't know what they're selling pin side you get a lot more variety and and a lot uh lower prices usually and it's just a site you got to check every time you buy or sell. For sure. And when you're there on pinballprices.com, I want all of our listeners that go out there to check it out to do me a favor. I want you to buy Doc a beer. I want you to buy him a coffee, buy him a beer. There's a little button there that you can click on. And give him a little extra love. That's a nice way to say thank you. You know, he's doing this out of the own kindness of his heart and for his own love of pinball. like so many of us that are in the pinball community we're doing it because we love it we're not making money we're not looking to do anything else just trying to help each other so please i'm going to challenge our listeners to go out there and make a little donation a buck five bucks 50 bucks whatever you want to do uh and give doc a little love there on pinballprices.com also again thank you so much from the bottom of my heart thank you from all the ladies at ladies flip for for buying pizza at the last ladies tournament that i did at district 82 um having a sponsor like you not just so that you know the poor man's pitball podcast and all the silliness that comes with it but thank you for being a really great sponsor of lady ladies playing pinball ted that means a lot so much thanks from the bottom of my heart absolutely happy to do it and gonna do it again good can't wait i really do i really appreciate it because the offsets it really helps me and offsets the cost of running that day. I didn't go in the hole. I made a total of $30 on that last tournament. So I came out broke even. I don't mind putting money in my own tournaments. But at the same time, it's so nice when there's wonderful people like you that just volunteer. What can I do to help Rachel? And I also want to say, I'm going to make a mention too, that there are two other listeners that have also helped out. You know who people are. And I appreciate you as well. We just keep that other stuff anonymous. But I love you too. Well, hugs to everybody. All right. Anything else for you, Tim Lee? No, no, Doc. Thank you for coming on. You're a class act. Thank you for being a friend. Rachel, love you. I love you, too. Always appreciate you. Yes. That's all I got. All right. Well, happy flipping. Happy flipping. And Drew sucks at pinball.
