Welcome everyone to the Pinball Auswide podcast. This is episode 17 and in this episode we'll have the usual thank yous, month in review, segment Pinball Price Watch which is obviously our best buyers and world famous, what the fuck. A small discussion as well about FOMO buying and if that's having an effect in the industry. Just the tip segment, Rumour and Industry News which will cover JJP's up and coming apparent Sonic, American Pinball CV and a Saw homebrew. We'll have a bit of a chat about wide body machines and where they've gone, emails and admin rant as normal. I'm Jared with Matt and a special guest again is George. Welcome boys. Hey buddy, how are you? I'm good mate. Came well? So far so good. Yeah nice. How are you children? I'm good thanks dad. So before we begin we need to have a language warning so all you young listeners put your headphones down and turn the volume up. Yeah put your headphones on and turn the volume up. And thank you to all the current and new listeners and new subscribers. Yeah we've actually picked up a few more which has been pretty awesome. Yeah nice. I think we've still got twice the amount of listeners as subscribers. So if you're listening and you haven't subscribed, do it or just stop listening. Yep. No, I'm kidding. Keep listening. Yeah, it's funny. The notes I made are quite, I feel like they're long, so this might go for a little bit. I'm not sure, but obviously did a little bit more YouTube on the channel. So if you need to find me on Pinball Ozwide on YouTube, just did a couple on Sonic Pinball and a $20,000 machine. I think that one was about if you spend $10,000 on a $10,000, it doesn't make it a $20,000. So they've been well received, to be honest. So still enjoying that. I got an arcade sign printed, which you brought straight past, but the thing of all of this was like, so I put it above my games room and the story was, is when I showed Nadine the print, I was like, you know, I want to hang this up on the room. I said, can I have it outside the door? You know, so obviously says arcade and, you know, it shows the way to the arcade. And surprisingly, she said yes, so I fucking drilled screw holes into that wall so quick so she couldn't change her mind.

Printed it out, got it, you know, sort of hooked up with leads and I needed to get an electrician over to wire it because where I was hanging it up, the framework of the door I was drilling straight into and I needed to punch the wire through into the wall to hide it basically. And he came over, he wired it all up, so obviously being 12 volts, you know, still needed the 240 volt power pack. Yeah. So he's wired it into my 240 volt, automatically steps down, blah, blah, blah. But as part of that, he needed to look in my switch box to turn off the electricity clearly so he could work with power. He's done that and I don't know what made him do it but he's taken the face of the switch box off to show that two of my actual, what are they, switches, safety switches were arcing and they literally could have burnt the fucking house down. So I don't know why my house didn't. I am so glad it didn't obviously. I don't even know why the switches didn't go off anyway either. Because it was arcing behind them. Yeah, it must have been, but there was two or three switches that were burned completely, and mate, my heart has never dropped so much in my life. So lucky you did the arcade sign. Yeah, exactly. So, I mean, look, obviously because there's a new house build, you know, I just called my builder and said, fucking send someone around, thanks. And I did, and it was fixed the next day. So both electricians were basically like, look, all that happened was that the switches themselves weren't screwed properly towards the copper plate that sits behind it. And so therefore they weren't creating that neutral or whatever happens. I'm not an electrician, so I don't know. But yeah, that was really, really nerve wracking, to be honest. So that was an interesting little sidestep to getting what I thought was an awesome arcade sign up on top of the wall. Lucky you did it. Very lucky I did it, yeah. And with that printing, like I did a few other prints as well, I think I saw you. They're your pin cups, George? Yes, they are. Thank you very much. When I get home, I'll put them onto the machines. That's okay. I'll give you a hand if you struggle with it or get Sonia to hold the machine. She's got muscles. Yeah, nice, nice. Just do the right way. Just one knee under it, unbolt it. I did that. I just did a little bit more work on the Pinball Oswai light boxes as well. I'm just trying to work that out. I'm thinking you may be bringing them to Expo. Smooth all the way, mate. Smooth all the way. Yes, I put a post up, obviously, on the page. Only Rowan wants textured. Yeah, he was just a smart ass. No, no. It's a truth. He wanted to text it. Good old Rowan. But with that as well, I did some normal light boxes. So I did some Stern and Bellys and Dardarees and I offered them as sort of freebies to try and push through some more t-shirt sales because I just needed to clear a few. Was there any extra ones or was it just those ones you told me about? Sorry, Sadio? The sales of the shirts. Were there extras? No, just those few. So, yeah, look, it is what it is. I don't know why they haven't sort of sold. If anyone wants to buy a t-shirt, we've still got a few left. So you've got t-shirts? Oh, yeah, you still have t-shirts? Yeah, we've still got t-shirts. And are you going to sell the Oswai banners?
    6:06
The light boxes. The light boxes? Yeah, I'm thinking of it, but they'll only be cheap. They might be $10. So people just got to say if they prefer smooth or textured. No, just bring smooth, I think. Just bring smooth? Yeah, I don't think I'll bring textured. I mean, I might bring a couple maybe, I don't know. I'm just trying to get it right. I mean, if you want one, you can take one each, but you might want one. I've just sort of made them a bit better by putting a diffuser on the front and the back so there's a white diffuser. So hopefully that matters with your lead that you've used. The color just pops and it just separates the light a bit more. So a little bit of mucking around with that but got there in the end.
    6:42
So yeah, so a couple of t-shirt sales. As we know, last month I sold Game of Thrones. Yep. I was hunting around and sort of spoke to the community about what machine to look at next and everyone pushed me towards the Jaws.
    6:59
Apart from me. Jaws is a great game. I'm not a huge fan. Matt doesn't like it. I agree. I didn't like it to start with and I think when we went to nil last year I played it a bit more after reading the rules. I was like, oh, actually, this is pretty good. It shoots really well, being Elwyn. The rules being Elwin are really good as well, but I just didn't have that feel for it. But with everyone sort of going Jaws' away, I was like, okay. So I drove down to Zach's Amusements and had a bit of a play there in a quiet environment. Loved the machine, but goddamn those call-outs. I don't know what it was. Because they were the live movie call-outs. I just didn't like it. I don't know what it was. It was so bizarre. Like, you know, when you're playing, I mean, I'll use my collection as an example, but, you know, even Game of Thrones, there was just sort of, there was none of that live movie style call out with the clips. It just threw me off, you know, Deadpool that's sort of more cartoony style and has just funny kind of clips and chatter to you. I don't know. There was just something about it that I couldn't get my head around. So I passed on Jaws and ended up actually grabbing a Deadpool. So I got a Deadpool premium. And the call outs on a Deadpool, good? They're awesome, mate. They're funny as fuck. You've got it here yet? No, no, no. It hasn't arrived yet? No, it comes this weekend, which is great because I'm going away this weekend, so that's kind of funny. But it is what it is. Someone will be here to... I'll be here. Don't worry about that. I'm sure my sister-in-law and kids would love that.
    8:32
My sister-in-law might, I don't know. She probably will. She might. But yeah, so I ended up grabbing a Deadpool. So that's hopefully coming this weekend, I think. I think it's being picked up 30th. And a Deadpool Premium, that as well. Premium, yeah. So, I mean, I'll probably talk about it, the price watch, but yeah, 11.7 was the purchase price on that, which seems pretty standard. But that's within what we've been saying. Yeah, yeah, correct. How much did you sell your machine for? 11.5. What the fuck is that, eh? I paid 11.5 for it. I'm just saying, mate, it's good to say you. No, I don't. You follow what you say. Yeah, well, I mean, you know, and I think I've got another YouTube video coming that just goes through helping people, first-timers, How to buy machines. And, you know, I think it's okay to price your machine higher expecting negotiation. Yeah, 100%. A lot of people do do that, as long as you meet the market. As long as you're not going stupidly high. Correct. You're asking 18 for that Game of Thrones because you'd still have a silver sitting there. Yeah, correct. You know, what I guess I mean anywhere between sort of $250 to $500 generally is where I price my machines. Maybe above market to get a feel for it, you know.
    9:39
So, yeah, so Deadpool's on its way. If anyone's got any mods, because I think this is pretty stock standard, I'd love to hear from people if they've got mods that they want to sell, because I'm probably going to have a bit of a look at the Pop Bumper mods. The side armor looks really cool, so I'm looking forward to maybe throwing that on.
    9:57
Hit me up if needs be. Booked nil, so did that, done and dusted, Matty, so looking forward to that next month, which will be good. I think we'll do a podcast. I haven't reached out to Lyndon, but I think we'll have a chat to him when we... Yeah, so we'll take the mics with us and have a bit of a chat to him and probably Rowan while we're up there, so that'll be a bit of fun. And the last thing really was a catch up with Georgie here, so I popped over to your place.
    10:22
Feels like a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, it would have been two weeks ago. Was it really two weeks ago? Just got back, hey? Jesus, was it really two weeks ago? Yeah, it goes quick, doesn't it? So yeah, we played a little bit there. We had a couple of games on Alice, which was good. Had a couple of games on Harry Potter. And we actually played mostly on Woz from memory. Yeah. And had some epic games on that. And you killed the scores on our machines. You can say that, but... He does this regularly. I will state, though, that people, even though that post of mine was a bit tongue-in-cheek, like, ha-ha, destroying grand champs. But what people don't see is that I think because of the extra balls that Woz gives you and you have them at the end of your standard three-ball game, I must have had three or four extra balls. Yeah, 100%. I was at 2.9, is it billion on that machine? No, mil. Mil. So I was at 2.9 million with three extra balls remaining and ended up on 3.2. Yeah, you lost all these balls pretty quick. So 2.9 for my first three and my next three was 300,000. Yes, mate, it's a great game. It was fucked. So, yeah, so that was me. That's been my little month in review. Matty, yours? It's been a bloody busy month again. Busy month again. Decking it out. So all of you guys will be pretty impressed. All the main boards are finished. Yeah, we saw the photos this morning. So it's 99% done. There's just a few little offcuts that need put into place just to finish it off. Yep. So next couple of days when I feel like getting to it because there's no real rush now because there's no trip hazards anymore. Yep. So really happy with that. Yep. Very impressed. Just clean it up. I think it's at about $16,000 it's cost me so far. Yep. Nice. And it's over 580 linear metres of decking board that's been... I wish I had done that in square metres for you. I don't know. Do you know linear metres to square metres? No, yeah, I do. It's over half a kilometre. Half a kilometre. If you lay it down. It's a 500 metres. Let's not talk it up. It's a lot of kilometres. Yeah, 580 linear metres. Come on, you work it out, mate. That's like when people say a quarter of a million dollars. It's only 200. It's only 250,000. It just sounds better on a quarter of a million dollars, doesn't it? Of course. So anyway, it was school holidays again, as we know. Had Easter, so spending time with kids as well. Yes. I had my dad come stay with me for four days, so my mum could have a bit of R&R with her girls weekend. So it's her 50th year of going away with her girlfriends. Yeah, very nice. Get away, so good to spend time with the old man. I reckon we'll be doing that with Neil in 50 years. 100% mate. Maybe not in 50 years. I'll be 102. Yeah, 100% we'll be doing that.
    13:04
So yeah, so went out with the kids. We went down to General Public a few times, which is our local arcade. Yep. So they absolutely love it down there. Yep. Just arcade machines and they love getting the redemption prizes. Yeah. Went to the swimming centre quite a few times. Yeah, just doing water slides and all the good bits.
    13:22
Been playing a bit of pinball at night time. Okay. Been trying to do three games on, just move around the room, just three games each time. And yeah, trying to get back into the emotion of it. What were the last three?
    13:35
What did I play? He doesn't even remember. What was two nights ago? I can tell you what you didn't play. What? Jaws. No, I didn't play Jaws. That's what I just said. I know what you didn't play. No, what did I play? I played Mustang, Star Trek and Walking Dead. Yep. Okay. So, that was good fun. New or old Walking Dead? The old one, the original OG. And that was my month, honestly. I don't have much to say, really, apart from doing decking. What about your games room update? We're well down now.
    14:05
Anything going on? Yeah, yeah. So I got an email about two weeks ago. And the, what did they say? I've now been assigned a case number? Case worker, something, whatever.
    14:15
Whoever that is, and they said I should hear back from him in about four weeks. So what's that for? For the permit. Right, okay. This has taken a long time. Tell me about it, mate. Jesus Christ. You've got to wait four weeks to hear from someone. From the counsellor, that's right. When did you get all this started? It started the year, wasn't it? Pretty much, yeah. It started going underway. Pretty much. My God. I'll let you guys know when I'm going to update about it. Yeah, okay. All right. That's about it. George, how's your month been, buddy? Mine's been great.
    14:41
The missus took me away, so it was good. I finally get some sleep. Don't sleep here in Melbourne, unfortunately. I've come back and started getting everything ready for the Melbourne Pinball Expo.
    14:54
So yes, we've got a few things we have exclusive. The first one being, now everyone's saying the rumours about Jersey Jack Pinball being Sonic. So I can't say what it is or not, but I can say Paul will be bringing five machines to the expo for people to play. Of their newest. Of their newest machine? And it'll be the first place to see it in the show will be at our expo. It'll be Sonic. Yeah, I'm not saying anything. It'll be Sonic. I'll lose my legs and fingers. Jack's going to absolutely shoot me. Is it going to open up when you first turn on the machine? Are you going to hear Sega? Oh, that'd be cool. How fucking great would that be? Yeah, well, we're going to find out soon because what are we in April? Yeah, so it'll be coming soon, surely. It'll be coming soon. Yeah. So that's interesting. Also, another exclusive we will have is, if anyone's heard of Australian Homebrew on Facebook, Danny Gibbons, we've been speaking to him. As you know, we're launching our expo on November the 13th, which is Black Friday. And on that Black Friday, we will be doing a theme night, dress-ups and prizes, giveaways. What are you dressing up as, George?
    16:14
I'll have it, mate. I'll probably come as myself. That's scary enough. So I don't know yet, but Danny's going to be bringing his saw machine exclusive to the Melbourne Pinball Expo. Hopefully he can have it finished and completed in time. Sorry, did you say exclusively to the Expo? Yeah, exclusively to the Expo. Nice work, Danny. Yeah, look, he's done a lot of work. He's got no experience in pinball. He's never been a manufacturer. I think he even said he's never owned one either. Never owned one. He was a professional wrestler. Yep. So he's come a long way. We've been keeping track of it all. And I think he's doing a great job. So having that machine at the expo will be great. Try to get a few homebrews in and some people will come and have a look at what people can do if you just put your mind to it. So yeah, jump onto his Facebook page and have a look at the machine. We'll start advertising it on our page soon. So, yeah. We'll go into a bit more depth at discussions about his machine and what he's doing later in the podcast, but that's awesome. Sounds good. The other thing I just wanted to mention as well is I did put up a post for people asking what they wanted us to chat about this month too. So, Scotty asked about me and Jules versus Pokemon. Did you see the little AI picture he put up? Which wasn't too bad. Yeah, I did. Yeah, you had the Jules machine with the Pikachu plate, wasn't it? Yeah, yeah. So, neither one out on that one. Scotty, apologies. Ryan wants this or that back. Do you remember this or that, George? What do you want? Ryan who? Ryan, one of the guys on the Facebook page, so the Pinball podcast Facebook page, he wants this or that back. So we would put a machine against another machine and ask Matt to choose. So for instance, you know, if it was... Medieval Madness. Okay. Or Medieval Madness or Attack from Mars. Yeah, which one, this or that sort of thing. So he wants that back. Do you want to have a go? We can have a bit of a go. All right. What's yours then, Matty? You go off first then. Theatre of Magic or Circus Voltaire?
    18:14
Yeah, fuck, eh? Yeah, yeah, there you go. Well, I haven't played Circus Voltaire, so... Haven't you? No. Okay. I would probably go Theatre of Magic, just.
    18:25
And I mean, you've caught me completely off the cuff, but mainly just because of the orbit that then goes into the scoop on CV. I mean, it's okay, but it just slows things down. It's a bit more stop-start, yeah. Which is CV in general. I mean, when you think of the animations on the screen and of the multi-ball start and all that sort of stuff. Yeah, Theater of Magic's definitely a faster game too. Good. Well, I'll have to say Theater of Magic. I haven't played CV yet. Okay. But we will. They're doing the remakes of them, so they say. So it'll be interesting after they're both out. Re-imagine.
    18:57
Which one? Can you stop jumping ahead with the podcast? Oh, sorry, mate. Let's go back. All right. For you two then. Alien or Predator? Alien.
    19:09
Jeez, I've only played two games on Alien and I've played a lot of games on Predator. So, I reckon Alien though. I really enjoyed Alien. I mean, I enjoyed Predator. Would you do, let's do Evil Dead or Scooby-Doo? To me, Evil Dead. I haven't played either of them, so I'll pass. You've played both, right? Yeah, I've played both. Yeah. But you could still, maybe you could choose a theme. What was? Spooky. What was the other one, did you say? Evil Dead or? Scooby-Doo. Yeah, probably Scooby-Doo based off theme then if I had to choose. Yep. Cool. More than any. What would your choice? What'd you say? Oh, geez. You know what? I reckon I'd probably go for Scooby-Doo. Okay. Yep, nice. All right. Well, I think they're both great themes, but yeah, just Evil Dead. Yep.
    19:57
I think. Soft spot in the heart. Yeah. All right. Well, maybe this or that can make a little bit of a comeback. Yeah, Ryan, thank you. And Mulder Scully wanted to have a chat about Bally Remakes versus Originals, which I think would be a very interesting conversation to have on another podcast. Yeah, yes. Not on this one, but definitely an interesting one. So we might do that. So I appreciate that. As you know, I've got quite a few remakes as well and had issues with New Out of the Box. Yeah, New Out of the Box, yeah. Yeah, so we'll have a look at that. Now, I'm just going to put this podcast on hold for one second because I have a surprise for Matt. Oh, here we go. That I just wanted to do live as a recording so I just going to go and get it and I come back so just give us a second I excited So even though the discussion I had with this guy was that he didn want to shout out but I feel it too important not to give a shout out But was it just to me though? Well, no, no, no, no. I received something as well, but I've obviously opened it when it was sent to me. But as I said, the reason I want to do this is I think it just highlights people in this community that can actually be really, really nice.
    21:09
I'm excited. And it sort of helps me, you know, it's personally helped me over time just sort of keep pushing along with this hobby because like all of us, sometimes we have a bit of a burnout or, you know, you get a bit frustrated along the way and you want to throw your arms up in the air and go, I've had enough. But I was chatting to Michael Keough and he basically just turned around. He goes, mate, I've got a couple of things to send you. You know, let me send it to your mail. And I straight away went, no, thanks. I said, just don't really, I'm very uncomfortable with this sort of stuff sometimes. He goes, nah, mate. He goes, listen, you and Matty helped me out at Expo, you know, with a bit of merch and stuff like that. He goes, I just want to pay it forward. He goes, that's what this is all about. And I was like, mate, he really is. And that's why I wanted to give him that shout out. So, Michael, I mean, we chatted via PM, but what we received, I thought, was really, really nice. And I very much enjoyed it. He said, you know, obviously there was one each. He goes, you'll know which one's yours. And the other one's for Matt. I went, okay, no problem. So, there might be a little pauses and I'll edit them out, obviously. But I'm just handing over a tube now to Matty so he can have a bit of a look at what Michael has sent him. It is opened, obviously, so it's just in the top there for you to just carefully open. Michael was the first winner of our first Harry Potter raffle. Yeah, I know. And that's what I mean. Things like that, when they happen, they go to guys who are deserving of that sort of stuff. So, yeah, so this was just the one, yeah. How many do you want?
    22:45
Sorry about that, Michael. That's just how he is. I struggled to decide which one. That's wicked. How good is it? That's a Brian Allen signed limited edition, no good go for a custom translate. It's a postcard. Turn it around so I can see the back of it. I was looking at it. That looks insane. What is it? Now, the one that I got, as I said, I struggled to decide which one to get, but I got a really nice CV one. Yeah, cool. Thank you, Michael. You're a legend. Yeah, I just thought that was really, really, really appreciative. Mine's a limited edition as well, 26 out of 100. What's yours? 71 out of 100. And that's like, that gopher's is all foil style. Yeah, the foil looks mad, doesn't it? It looks fantastic. It's so well done. We should probably put a photo of them up on the podcast. Yeah, definitely. It's part of the post. So that was just a little bit of a shout out to Michael to say, appreciate it. Mate, you're a fucking legend. Absolutely legend. Thank you. 100%. Just remember, Michael, George is here. Michael, definitely have a few beers at the Expo, buddy. Yeah, for sure. We'll catch up with you for sure. No, thank you very much. That is awesome. So there you go. Okay. Sorry, didn't you want to talk about the raffle from the Expo in your month in review? Oh, yeah, well, I can discuss the raffle. So the good news is we've got more raffles coming forward.
    24:13
We did get, apparently, someone from the pinball community lodged a complaint with the Gaming Commission against Melbourne Pinball Expo and Pinball Sales Australia. Okay. And the complaint was apparently Melbourne Pinball Expo are taking all the proceeds and not giving any money to anyone. So obviously what's happened is, and we're running the raffle wrong. So they've done the investigation. The great news is, guys, that Melbourne Pinball Expo did not take a single cent out of the raffles, which we could have. We can do what a lot of charities and people do do is they'll advertise a promotion and they'll say we'll give our profits. And by doing that, what it means is they'll pay themselves. Administration fees as well. Administration fees and there's nothing left. We do a little bit different. We run the raffle. Paul gets paid for the machine that he's imported in and all the money we make, we don't put in our time, effort, advertising, web page, the whole lot.
    25:16
We just do it all. From our hearts and donate every cent other than paying for the actual machine straight to the soccer club. Yep. Must work. The soccer club also got an email and they wrote back to them showing that, yep, they've received all the money. The soccer club wasn't happy about it, about the complaint because this money is going to the kids. Yeah. You know, and for people to do that, you know, if you've got gripes against someone, it's so weird, but don't affect the kids. Yep. And, you know, Lockie Moore's son won the pinball machine. The last thing you want to do is have to grab it back. So one thing we do have to change is we would try to keep the probability of winning a raffle ticket, winning the machine, as low as possible by having as least amount of tickets for sale. Yep. The soccer club was happy for 10 grand and Paul was happy to cover the cost of his machine. So that's where we got the 300 tickets. Yep.
    26:13
We have to now do minimum two times the price, up to six times the price. Okay. So we're going to do 400 tickets if it's a $20,000 machine. Yep. And we have to do that. So it can be $400 a ticket? No, no, no. It'll be $100 a ticket. Yep. And it'll be 400 tickets. Okay. Because that'll take them twice the amount of the machine. It's got to be twice the amount of the retail price of the product. Two to six times. That you're offering, yeah. And look, they didn't have a problem with it because the soccer club was happy with what they got. They actually said they'd get a lot more out of the raffle, that one raffle that we do, than what they'll get out of 10 other people. Yep. Because people usually just give them $500. I mean, I used to work, I say work, but I used to help with volunteer work with the local netball club here and get them sponsorship. Mate, it's tough. Like, you know, even $500 or $1,000, businesses don't give them out. Yeah. So for you guys to be able to give $10,000 in one hit, that would be huge for a club like that. We've done it twice. So what we'll do is we'll do 400 tickets if it's $100 each, or we might go to $50 each to $800. But we are given the go-ahead that you have to have that much for sale if you don't sell 400 tickets. If you sell 302, then you'll sell 302. We'll do our best to keep the probability for the community as best we can. But you have to have a cut-off day because you can't just let it run into it. No, you have a cut-off. It's got to be three months. So no matter what, yeah.
    27:47
Did you struggle to get the 300 last time? No. So you might be able to get the 400 easy too. Well, we might. Yeah. But yeah, it's not about... Well, we don't want... Me, Melbourne People Expo, Shannon and I aren't chasing the money for it. It's not us. So it's money for the soccer club and money obviously to pay for the machine. So with that, if we sell 300 tickets out of 400, then we sell 300 tickets out of 400. So we'll keep doing the best we can. It's just unfortunate that it just affects the guys in the pinball community.
    28:26
And look, we know who it was and a lot of people do know who it was. We won't say, but moving forward, guys, but we'll just keep going and plotting along, Which is great. And now one other thing about the Expo, we will not have tournaments this year. So if you want to do a tournament, you need to go to the Australian Pinball Expo in Adelaide. Because last time Bayside ran the tournament, but that's not happening on the Thursday. No, Bayside ran a tournament on the Thursday and Pin City ran it on the weekend. Yeah, right.
    29:05
The only reason we can't do the tournaments is we just do not have enough space. Yeah. And there's a lot of machines people don't have access to, as we had over 2,500 people to restrict 12, 14 machines. We get about 80, 100 guys into the tournaments. We had to weigh it up. Yeah. And that's the biggest issue we had was people saying we wish we could have played those machines. Yeah. So now that the Australian Pinball Museum, no, Australian Pinball Expo, which isn't Melbourne Pinball Expo, now that they're running their expo and they're doing tournaments, I reckon if you want to go to a tournament, go there. That's where to go. Because I think they're going to have quite a few, so they'll be the place to go. Yep, nice.
    29:49
All right. Well, to keep trudging along, the next thing we want to chat about is our usual segment of Pinball Price Watch.
    29:59
And they're going to financially recover. You know, that's just like your opinion. I'm going to make them an awfully camera for you. Matty, give us a rundown, mate. What have you seen so far this month? What have I seen? Look, it's stayed fairly stable, I believe. But some of the premium machines, I think, have dropped off maybe about $500. Yeah, well I think, I mean to use my purchase as an example of the Deadpool, I mean they, I looked on the page and they were around $13.5 to $13.5 maybe start of the year. So obviously they're still coming down slightly which I'm happy about at the time, it was the first time ever that I've bought at the right time. Yeah, that's right. Usually I buy when prices are high because that's just when I'm ready to turn machines over. It's like, you know, there's now the Mando Premium down at $10.5, you know. Yes. They had that at $11,000, didn't they? Oh, sorry, Mando Premium. I had a Pro Mando Premium at $10,500. Yeah, and there was a Mando Pro at like $9,800 or something, wasn't it? Yeah, so I had two Mando Pros, one at $9,300 and one at $9,250. $9,250, yeah. So they're definitely coming down as well. And then we had an Iron Maiden Premium at $11,000 as well.
    31:11
Yeah, wow. That's very, very cheap. They were still almost fetching $13,000 plus, $13,500, keeping the premium price. But there you go, that's the market dropping at the moment. Yeah, I mean, I had a couple which is an Avengers Premium at $11.5, which again, so they're coming down a little bit. There was a TZ at $10. I felt like that was a pretty good price for Twilight Zone at $10.
    31:34
There was a Star Wars LE, so I think we touched on it last month as well. The first one. Yeah, yeah, correct, yeah. So the one that you said was the first one on the market. Oh, yes, yeah. That's down to $18.3 now. And that was $22.400. Yeah, $22.500, something like that. Yeah, I know. That's still brand new, isn't it? Yep. And I feel like those sort of older models as well, those Bally's and the like, you know, there was a Doctor Who at $65,000 and a Popeye at $49,000. I mean, Popeye's used to be $7,500, $8,000. I was meant to write that down. You know, so they were ridiculously high. You know, and we even had an X-Men LE at $17,750. The most interesting one that I thought that I wanted to chat a little bit about was a Hobbit LE. 13.7. Now, he started that at 16.6 and it dropped at 3 grand to 13.7, which is, I think, where they should be priced. Is it still for sale? It's still for sale at 13.7, but because it's very much a buyer's market at the moment. What do you reckon is causing all this?
    32:37
It's oversaturation at the moment. You know, that's in my opinion what's causing it. There's so many machines coming into the market still. Also, for cost of living?
    32:48
Yeah. Look, maybe. I mean, this guy with the Hobbit possibly because he was like five kids got to get rid of one. Yeah, okay. So there's probably examples where there's people like that that are selling toys to help fund some other things. You never know. It might be other hobbies. But yeah, definitely maybe cost of living is a little bit of it. But I think what we see on the page predominantly has been your typical sellers, like your standard type sellers that you see all the time that are just turning over machines, wanting new machines and doing that. You did say Looney Tunes machine before, did you? I didn't say Looney Tunes. No, you didn't. There's a Looney Tunes at $4,250. Yeah, right. So, you know. That's not Oscars, is it? Because he had one at $5,000. No, Simon Young's. Simon Young's, okay.
    33:34
I can't help but think that's still $2,000 overpriced based on the last one. I shouldn't say Looney Tunes, I should say Bugs' Big Bash.
    33:42
Looney Tunes is the new one. Yeah, Bugs Bunny is Big Bash. Is it the Dada East one? No, that's the Bally. Bally, yeah, okay. So, you know, the prices are still dropping there. I still think certain titles feel like they've remained where they are. And, you know, like you said, your premiums. Look, I think that Iron Maiden at 11 probably almost fits in a Best Buy, but it's only a couple off. So I reckon they're still a 12.5 to 13 machine. Same with, in my opinion, with Deadpool and those sort of newer, more popular titles.
    34:19
There was John Wick Pro as well at 9.950. Yeah, okay. See, that John Wick LE is still there at 16, and I would have jumped all over that if he had to come to the party with me. He didn't reach that to you. No, not at all. He didn't hear about the podcast. Yeah, maybe he doesn't listen. I don't know. But yeah, so he's got a John Wick LE at 16 and I sort of sent him a message saying, are you negotiable? No. No response. And yeah, which is okay. And I didn't put the price out to him. I just asked if he was negotiable. And I said to Matt at the time, he's had that advertised since August last year. Are you serious? Yeah, so it's been almost a year. It's probably eight, nine months or whatever it might have been. But Matt pressured me on the podcast and I said, look, I would have probably offered 14.5 but bought at 15 and I would have thought that would have been one, yes, a good buy, but two, probably where it about sits for me personally on pricing.
    35:14
So yeah, I think those machines like that still have room to settle. Hobbit is another one as well. I think still has room to settle at the moment.
    35:24
I don't know. Maybe some of the Mandos as well look like they're still settling at the moment as well. I can see the Mando probably hitting about 9.5 for premiums. The premiums? Yeah, that's what I sort of envision. So where would you put the LEs then? Yeah, well, what did it last? 12-ish? Didn't one of the LEs sell for 11? Yeah, around 11, 12-ish. So, you know, you're down at 11, Mike still. Yeah, and I think that was fully kitted out. It was, wasn't it? Everything from memory. Oh, did it have the top of it or not? That wasn't a very popular game, was it? No, not at all. A disaster. What a bang for Bucketies, though. Honestly, I'd pay that for it. Yeah, I mean, if you're... Anyone selling a Mando? That's going to... Honestly, if the premiums start coming down... Possibly, but you'll have to wait a little bit. Yes.
    36:09
If the premiums start dropping down into the 9-gram, which I do foresee, with some titles, I will start purchasing them, I believe. Yeah, yeah. And I don't think they're going to drop much more than that. I mean, with that saying, it takes a bit because you've stopped your purchases at the moment. At the moment, purely because of space. Yeah. Yeah, space. And also, I just want to keep that money in the bank for the minute still. Yeah. But obviously, if something comes at the right price, you're still going to pull the trigger on certain things. Possibly, yes. Yeah. Yeah, possibly. Yeah. Georgie, what do you reckon? Have you seen much on the market with how prices are handling at the moment? Yeah, I just reckon the prices are still dropping. Yeah. Yep. It'll be interesting to see if we're getting these interest rate rises they're all talking about and the cost of fuel.
    36:50
Fuel is actually back to the same price. Everyone's still charging this excise. I paid for my 98 yesterday, $1.97, which is about 10 cents more than I was paying at the start of the year, so it's not that bad. No, I'm not talking about your fuel. It's just anything like where you're getting deliveries. Oh, yeah, yeah. I had a friend got something delivered and he could pay a 40% fuel tax. Yeah, fuel surcharge. Fuel surcharge. Okay. On top of the price of the delivery. It was 40%. Yeah, all businesses, all transport companies have increased their costs exponentially. Once the price comes down. No, they won't. They're not going to drop them out. Well, diesel's at, what, $2.50 now? No. Yeah, it is. Yeah, $2.50, $2.60. I thought I was sort of like $2.50. Unless I was looking at something. Diesel? Yeah. Oh, then even better. But they're still keeping the... Unless I was looking for something else. The excise is there. So, I mean, that's all going to have a factor in with it. It'll be interesting to see where it goes over the next few months. Honestly, yeah. Honestly, next year. Next year even. Yeah, 100%. Yep. Yeah, agreed.
    37:53
Best buys? Yes, I actually have two. Yeah, go for it. So, WrestleMania. $5,450. The Stern WrestleMania. Yeah. That is a bargain and a half. That's a good game. I know. I wanted a buy and I should have bought it. I couldn't find it for some reason on Facebook. I was chatting to Jason actually about it and yeah, he was like, oh, this is the one. I'm like, fuck, I can't see it anywhere. And otherwise, the bundle of the Jersey Jack machines, the Wonka LE plus the Doldium for $20,500. Plus a Doldium? Yep, two machines for $20,500. Sorry, so a Wonka. Wonka LE. Yep, Wonka LE. Plus a Doldium. So a Doldium really is still around a 10, 10 and a half machine. And Wonka's are at 14. Wonka. So a bit of a saving, yeah, that's pretty good, I guess. That's a pretty damn good bond. How much was Wonka when it came out? 21? 22? I don't think they were that much back then. Might have only been 18 or so, mate. Yeah, that. Yeah. I had a couple, actually. I had a demo man that was down in Lara for $3,800. Oh, I didn't see that. That ended up on Facebook the very next day at $6,500. Oh, is that the one you see? So thank you to the flipper there. We appreciate you in this hobby. I thought the Star Trek LE at 13 was a good buy as well, the Stern one. I still think for that Steve Ritchie flow type machine. And the true LE. However, I think my best buy, and this was given to me by someone, that they bought a King Kong LE fully modded with Topper, so about 2k worth of mods and Topper for 15,250. Yeah, that is a pretty damn good ball. So I don't think you can go past that. I mean, they're $22,000 brand new. Plus another $2,000, as you said, for the topper, then the mods. $15,250. So I found that like a bug. And I cheekily said to this bloke, we'll find me a Deadpool for $10,000. Yeah.
    39:52
Off you go. But yeah, I thought that was definitely the best buy, without a doubt. And then that just leads us into what the fuck? I'm a bit loath to do this one, but I'm giving a special... Well, okay, one quick special shout-out. There seems to be Guns N' Roses data is still popping up, but that's $17,500 mark, $18,000 mark. Guys, pull your heads in. It ain't that type of machine, especially when the last one sold for $8.3, which I think we talked about last month. Yes. That I almost pulled the trigger on. However, the what the fuck of this month goes to Oscar. At Pinball Memories or Pinmem. And look, I like the guy, so this is nothing against him personally, but he has a Mando LE for $18,450.
    40:41
So there's your Mando LE, George, if you wanted a Mando. Yeah, I don't want a Mando. Not for 18, especially for 11. Yeah, I just feel like, and again, apologies Oscar, but that was just a worthy contender. At 18,450 is just way overs, way overs. And not by a couple grand. Like he's six or seven grand outside of where it should be. So that's my what the fuck. We did have at the start of this podcast as well again Jason from Pimp My Pin over in WA So if you in WA and you need some work done go and see him because some of his work off his website or off his Facebook looks pretty awesome He showed me Judge Dredd looked fantastic what he does with them basically So Jason at PimpMyPin just wanted to have a little chat or get us to have a bit of a chat about FOMO. Oh yes, FOMO. And I thought this just sort of tied in well with our pricing, so it followed on well with what we just discussed about pricing and the industry pricing. And the FOMO that's going on there at the moment. And I think I showed you a screenshot, Matt. I'm sure I sent you a screenshot of this. It was the Dungeons & Dragons LE machine for $18,000 on the page. And I mean, they were, again, they were $21,000, $22,000. So I just wonder what's going on. And the discussion I had with Jason was that people obviously have a fear of missing out. It's because they need to buy it now before it disappears. And regardless if it's a good machine or not. Yeah, that's right. And before it goes through a roof in price. Because they've still got this in their head that it's going to go up in price. But they want them now too, right? That's right. That's the problem. And they need to have that LE number. That's the FOMO there. They need that LE number to make them feel special. Yeah. But these guys are selling them off. I don't know, for less, at a loss. They must be some. I mean, that King Kong LE is pure, I mean, that's a seven grand loss. He's just, get rid of it. I just need the money to put towards something else. But it makes me feel like they're buying through a business structure, using that as a depreciation and a loss. So it's a bit of a tax write-off. But you see, FOMO, I reckon, is now coming down to the boutique companies as well. Well, it's not, because look at bloody Pokemon. No, he said boutique companies. Oh, yeah, yeah. So Pokemon being, obviously, because of the licensing, right, Pokemon's massive. Yeah.
    43:10
But all these boutique companies, they've all been selling out their machines as soon as they put them up and advertise them.
    43:21
Like Beetlejuice, exactly. And even Evil Dead. Beetlejuice, Evil Dead. And they run low numbers as well. Yeah. But what's weird about that, though, is that with those sort of more boutique, you're not seeing the flip of machines that you are with. No, that's right. So you wait two years. So you tend to find some, I feel, and correct me if I'm wrong, guys, the opposite happens with these boutique is that someone will buy an Evil Dead and it'll take Spooky two years to get it. And in the meantime, people are like, oh, gee, look, the demand's high on an Evil Dead. Look at all these people that have missed out. I'll add an extra $1,000 onto my purchase price and sell it. Whereas when you're talking Sterns that only land in Australia two, three months later, people play them and they're selling them at 40 games or 150 game plays. I reckon I restart 100 games out of pure frustration on one of my games in the first few months.
    44:20
Looks pretty good to take a year to do their machines, not two. Yeah, well, okay. I mean, they've got it reduced now. But it's still that time frame, though. There is still a time frame. I mean, you look at CGC and people like that as well. There's no FOMO involved there because people just don't get their machines.
    44:37
What's the company doing, Yukon Yeti? Turner. They'll be two years. They're going to be two years. He said that's going to be two years. They're going to be two years. So, you know, that might happen with the people that buy the first ones are them. Yeah. But you see, I guess the thing for me, FOMO, is that when it lands and the next one, because it's, you know, I guess I'm specifically talking about Sterns because they release four to six a year. You know, so when someone gets King Kong and it lands in Shores and then they want a Pokemon, they're like, I've put a placement order with AMD. I want Pokemon. I want the LE. I'm going to sell my King Kong LE. Yeah. I put 15 grand so I can just, big deal. Like Matty said, maybe it's a depreciation thing. I just put 6 grand forward. So the hype on these companies, I believe every company has a different length of hype time linked to it. Right. So I believe like Stern, the hype when Stern does a release, I reckon it's shorter than the hype that goes with Spooky Pinball as an example. Yeah, because, I mean, the reason for it is. Because there's one going to come out so quick. Correct, because they're just going to wait for the next one. Yeah. Like, what was their last release? Whose? Sterns.
    45:52
For the Pokemon. But did you see the hesitation? You've already forgotten about what their last release was that was huge. Yeah, Pokemon. You know, people are already looking towards what their next one is. You know? And that's what I mean. People are just purchasing these machines and being like, oh, well, I just want the next one. I just don't want to miss out. So yeah, I just thought that was an interesting discussion. So thanks, Jason, for the feedback on that. Guys, if there's any topics as well that you want us to chat about, obviously we've got our Facebook page. We've got our email, which is pinballoswide at hotmail.com. Feel free to drop us a note and we can add into our little run sheet any discussions you want. Just the tip is our little segment. Do we have a tip, anyone? I've got a tip. What's your tip, Matty? My tip is, when you buy a second-hand machine, I reckon you should check all your fuses. Okay. Because a lot of people who are also hacks or also rookies, you know, something goes wrong with the machine. Yep, they just put a fuse in. They require a 3-amp fuse and they go stick a 5-amp fuse in it. Are you serious? Oh, all the time, mate. The amount of machines I've pulled out fuses. It does happen a bit. Generally, obviously we're talking... Oh, yes, sorry, the Ballywooders. All the older bally's concerns. Yeah, correct, sorry. Like a second-hand bally Williams machine, like Adam's family, you've got all those fuses there. And they put the wrong ones in, and sooner or later that thing's going to shit itself, and then stuff up a bridge rectifier or a capacitor or anything like that.
    47:25
And yeah, so you can just save your time, just go through, check, look at your little schematics, which are inside the back box, and just see what fuse that is. Just use a little torch and have a look. And now we know why your fuse box is fucked. You've been putting out big fuses in your... I did. No, I didn't. So that's my little tip, just for any newbies out there. And it's not a hard thing to do, really. I like it. It's as simple as opening your coin door, pulling out your keys for your back trans light is, opening that up, taking it out, and just having a look behind the light box. I like it. Just see what's there. I said, just use a small torch and you should be able to see what it is. If you can't see what it is, go get boys off a fuse puller from Jaycar. Just pull them out. They're simple. Yep. Power off, guys. Also unplug from the wall. Yep. So that's my tip. Nice.
    48:17
Are you, George, anything? Do you want a tip for us? No. I just wouldn't have unplugged the power off the wall. Tip to tip. Well, you know what I actually like to do as well, George? I'll unplug it out of the wall or even switch it off, whatever, from the wall, though, but also then like to flip the machine on. Oh, I can go into capacitors. Yep, it gets rid of any excess power that could be sitting there.
    48:39
I've been in electricity before and it's not fun. I can tell. I have. We can tell, Mike. You don't have to explain it to us. I'm not, mate. I actually did this this time. I was inside, it was actually my xenon, yeah? What? I was inside my xenon and I went to go press the interlock. Yeah. I pressed it. Boom. Fucking. I'd landed flat on my house. All the power went off in the house and it was pitch black. I'm sitting there going, am I dead?
    49:09
But no, I was alive, but it was a thud. Let me guess, you went and got a beer and just kept going. Fucking O that is. Yeah, it is. That's exactly what it is.
    49:17
Well, my tip for everybody, and this is everybody, is TASPIN tickets go on sale this Friday, 1st of May at 6pm. And I can tell you right now, no one will want to miss out on that. You've got your flights booked? Yep. Flights are booked, accommodations booked. We're done too. Cool, nice. We're good to go. What flight are you on? I'm going Thursday.
    49:43
We're going on Friday. Yeah, Friday. Sorry, mate. Where are you staying? In the casino? In the casino. Yeah, same. I've got a room so we can all share it. Yeah, cool. So, Tas Pin tickets this Friday, 1st of May, 6pm for the Tasmanian Country Club. For a great cause. And definitely get all over it, guys. It's so much fun. And I'm sure we'll talk about it, but yeah, maybe whoever's gone can meet us at the airport and have a few beers. We're not having a few beers at the airport, mate. Unless you're shouting. I still have a few beers. So, you're staying in the club as well this time? Yeah, correct. Yeah, that's beautiful. Yeah, yeah. I didn't trust Matt to do the work. Oh, after what I heard about the last weekend adventure. No, but guess what? We could have cut across the golf course. I'm going to miss the deers. Yeah, but we could have cut across the golf course, and guess what's going to happen if we cut across the golf course? Fucking sprinklers are going to turn on. Good old Happy Gilmore. Meet me in the 18th hole at midnight.
    50:39
So, yeah, so that was my tip. Rumour in industry news. Do you want to start off with Sonic, guys? Yeah, everyone as well. So, JJP, so this is off NAP Arcade, has put his house on the fact that Sonic is going to be the next machine. Sonic. So I'm really... Steve Ritchie too. Steve Ritchie. And his fastest game ever. Fastest game ever. He's going to be a big seller. Yep. I'm... I just wish they weren't so expensive. I'd be all... Not all in, but I'd be so close to getting this. Unfortunately, I don't believe it's going to be based on the 1991... The what, sorry? On the 1991 Sega game. No. It's going to be based on the movies. No, running by Jersey Jack, but they do... Movies or cartoons, what do you reckon? Movie. It'll be the movies. The new movies. The movies. I know. It's ferocious. Well, if Steve Ritchie said that there's over 6,000 speeches, what have you got in the Sonic games? I don't have 6,000 noises. Could it be based on both?
    51:31
I think they might have a mini game in there where you might have the original OG game. You've watched my YouTube clip, clearly. Sorry? I said you've watched my YouTube clip. Oh, no. Thanks for the support. I appreciate that. You know I've watched it. That's probably one of your better YouTube ones. Thank you, mate. George, thank you, mate. You are welcome. Fuck you, mate. I'm after a new podcast host, mate. I know what you're doing. I already know you're trying to weasel me. I'm just taking a gift bag. Weasel me. Yeah.
    51:57
But I reckon it's going to be based on the... That's exactly what I've put on my YouTube. So for those that haven't seen it, go to my YouTube channel and have a bit of a look. I know, I've watched it. But that's what I said. I said it would be awesome if there was like a homage because he did it with Black Knight, if you remember, the Swords of Rage. Swords of Rage? Swords of Fury? What is it? Swords of Rage? Where it kicked back to his old Black Knight 2000 and all the music changed and the DMD changed to that alphanumeric. And I said if he did that with Sonic as a video mode or something like that would be freaking awesome. Mate, if it's Sonic, I'm going to try to get him out here.
    52:33
Who's Sonic? Steve Ritchie. Yeah, right. I'm serious. But like I said, he's a weird cat too. That's why we love him, mate. You know what? If you're weird, you're welcome. Yeah. But I reckon it's going to be based on the movies, though. Yeah. I just can't see why they do it any other way. Yeah, I hope not. Oh, no, but otherwise, what are you going to see on the screen, though, the whole time? Well, as I said, they could just make a cartoon style of George Seid. I was saying a bit of a mix. No, but were you talking about the cartoon series? I was talking about the cartoon. You know how you have your little cartoon clips? Yeah, the cartoon series. Both. Movies and cartoon. But we're going to find out soon. Although I had a bit of tongue-in-cheek that it was 6,000 call-outs. Maybe that was Jim Carrey and all these off-cuts. His outtakes and all of that. He wouldn't even have 6,000, Jim, would he? I don't know, but I tell you what, I couldn't visualize looking at him on the screen through playing that machine. That's for sure. Anyway, that's going to be interesting. That's going to be huge. I hope they have the loop. I hope they do the sonic loop. They'd have to have it. And spinners. And a sideways spinner.
    53:38
Yep. That'd be pretty cool. You buying one, Jared? No, you've got to wait, don't you? Well, no, as I said, if it wasn't for the price of his machines, I would consider it. If it was the original Mega Drive style arcade, then I'd be all over it. I mean, I'm just picturing pixelated art. Yeah, pixelated, yeah. And when I say that, I guess I don't mean out of focus, but just really cool pixelated art. Like, you remember that, was it actually the movie Pixels that they did with Adam Sandler? Yeah, great movie. You know, the way that they designed that three-dimensional pixel character as part of the machine, if you could bring that into the machine. That's one where he plays Space Invaders or something, isn't it? Yeah, he plays, yeah. Yeah, yeah. You know, like that sort of style art would be just unbelievable, you know. And you could go through all of the zones that they have in the Mega Drive game, you know. And there's obviously Sonic Pinball, so you could bring that sort of aspect onto the playfield as well. I just think the Mega Drive, for me, is the way to go. I think if you go to the movie, you're not going to sell through. No. You know, you're appealing to us. Now, the movie was fun to watch. I haven't watched it yet. And it brought a little bit of a sort of a nice tingling sensation to, oh, they've done okay.
    55:02
But you've got to have it off the arcade, surely. Surely. But that's just me. We'd hope so. Do you want me to tell you what it is? Yeah, go for it. I don't know. Okay. Damn it. It's Sonic. It'll be great. It's Sonic. And the other industry that we had was American Pinball remaking CV. So we did touch on it briefly last month, but there have been details come out this month. Eyes out. The same. So this month. They did Houdini already. So they did 100th anniversary Houdini. Yeah, 100 machines. Yeah, which I'm sure have done really well. Sarcasm. But with Circus Voltaire, there's two editions, so a Ringmaster Edition and a Classic Edition. So the Classic Edition is going to just be standard OG art, updated code. No, there were no details of it. Updated code and an LCD screen. So pretty standard by the sounds of it, whereas the Ringmaster Edition is going to be limited to 772. I'm not sure why. Yeah, but I'm not sure why that number as well. Why would you pick 772? Has that got any correlation to the game? I didn't think so. I don't think so either. When did the game come out? What year? Oh, God, 95, isn't it? Or something like that, yeah. So I'm not sure, but anyway. All new Brian Allen artwork, so he's redoing the back box and the body and everything, so hence why maybe he's obviously done little posters and stuff. There's going to be custom sculpts within the game. Again, I'm not sure where they're going to sit. As such, obviously, you've got the Ringmaster, which is the only one that I know of, that is what you could classify as a custom sculpt. I mean, I guess it's a molding, but... They might have a Simba. Yeah, they might bring in some other stuff. Who knows?
    56:51
So there's going to be scrolls that light up with an interactive topper. Hmm. There'll be updated code, so there's going to be a remastered sound and video, LCD screen, custom powder coating, custom shooter rod. They're calling it magic glass, obviously Invisi-style glass, and a shaker and a knocker. So the ringmaster, we don't have details of pricing yet, I don't think. What are you going to guess?
    57:20
Look, unfortunately, knowing how much... And it's CGC that's making money. No, no, it's an American Pinball. No, American Pinball, sorry. American Pinball. It'll probably be an 18, 20,000 dollar machine, I guess. For the ringmaster edition. What do you reckon it'll be US price?
    57:38
US price, I'd say probably around 10. Yeah, that's right. All these new releases are coming out at around 10. I reckon it'll hit Australia about 2022. Yeah. And I think the classic edition will probably be about an 8. Yeah.
    57:51
Depending on who the distributor is. Are there more than one distributor that you know of? For who? For American Pinball? No. Okay. So there's no competition, so the margin's the margin. It is. So I think overall, I mean, I love CV. Some of the upgrades sound interesting. I don't know about the scrolls that light up. I'd like to see how they're done. I'm sure it'll be very nice, but I always call the scrolls as the topper. I'm not sure how you're going to have scrolls and then an interactive topper. So thinking off the top of my head, that'll be quite cluttered at the top of the machine, personally. But otherwise, Brian Allen and the artwork will be sensational. If they're including the topper, it might be more than $10,000. Yeah, maybe. It'd be like $12,000 US. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Yeah, it could be.
    58:39
But look, it'll be interesting to see when it comes out. I mean, it's good that you're getting a shaker and a knocker in there, so it's interesting that they've set a knocker, so they're actually keeping it original in that regards. Custom Shooter Rod, yeah, can take or leave. Same with my custom powder coating.
    58:58
But yeah, so that's CV. That'll be interesting, as I said. I mean, I own one, so I'm not really going to be rushing out. Well, you could go and sell yours now for $18 and then hang out with that cash and then... No, I like it too much. I've actually been playing it a little bit this month, and so has my youngest, so she's enjoyed it. Otherwise, still rumours about the Masters of the Universe? Yes. He-Man? Are you excited about that at all? Um, yeah, I keep, I've been to the movies a couple of times this month. Um, I actually saw Michael, which wasn't too bad actually. And in, in the previews in that. I heard bad reviews of that model. I think if, if you go there, so this is, this era of music was right in my wheelhouse. Like I, and a bit ashamed to say, but I grew up dancing like him amongst mates at home. Come on mate, pull out the moonwalk. And we would listen to him. He had ad nauseum almost. So I thought it was really good. His nephew plays him. He does a really good depiction of him. He portrays sort of that kookiness that obviously he was as a child. It was very focused around his dad and the aggressive nature that he was towards him and his brothers, but it only went up to where he released Bad and then it stopped on his discography. So it didn't go any further than that. I think it had a little thing at the end of the movie, you know, there's more to come or something along those lines. So there could possibly be another movie maybe when he gets older so they can portray Michael as a bit older. But look, it wasn't real in-depth. It was okay. I read a couple of reviews where people were like, if I wanted to watch his videos, I would have YouTubed it and that would have saved me two hours in the cinemas.
    60:49
But there was interesting things there that I saw. Some of the things weren't factual. Like he had bubbles. They showed him with the monkey at a very young age, but he didn't really get him until he was sort of 20s. So they showed it when he was like 18, 19, so he was very young. So there were a couple of little small things off, but I guess they just wanted to depict that he enjoyed having extravagant style animals and was a bit weird in that sense. But yeah, it was okay. Everyone needs a monkey in their life. Everyone does need a monkey in their life. I've got my two monkeys here. I thought he was going to say kids then. That was a nice backhanded compliment. Yeah, he covered it by saying here. Yeah, I know. They're both here sitting with me. Thanks buddy. I don't know why, why were we talking about that? Oh, we were just, because you said you were saying... You went from He-Man to Michael Jackson. No, because you were saying you were watching the... Yeah, the movies. So the He-Man and Master of the Universe clips. So the movies look interesting, looks pretty cool to be honest. So are they doing the game on the movie or the cartoon And that once again we don know Yeah I don know Don know Who supposedly has He I don know I not sure who doing it Okay because that would maybe depend on which way it would go Because if it was Stern, they might do sort of a cartoon style like Deadpool kind of situation. I'd say so. Yeah. Oh, look, it intrigues me. That over Sonic? Sonic. Yep, 100%. And then there's also rumours about a new ACDC machine and not a remastered machine. A new. Yeah, a new one. Complete from scratch. That's a roundup. Made by John Borg. Because we need another ACDC. Yeah, of course we do. Everyone needs another ACDC in their life. Aren't they all dead except for one? Pretty much. Like, who's alive out of ACDC? I'm not sure. Angus Young? I think he's still going. He's still going. He's still going, man. He's still going. Do they need more money? No, they don't. No, it's perfectional reason. Does Stern need more money? Just another seller, isn't it? Of course Stern needs more money. Well, look at that. It's better than it being another, just relaunching the same machine. At least they're redoing it from scratch. But they could just redo something else or just make something else. You could. Just get a new thought in their heads and do it.
    63:01
Agreed. Too many remasters and stuff happening, I think. Yep. We don't need them. Just need new ideas. Yeah, agreed. And then it was Saw Pinball that we were going to touch on. Oh, there's a new one. You touched on it, obviously, at the top, saying that he's coming to Expo, which is pretty cool. Yeah. But I've been following this on Facebook and, well, I shouldn't say I've been following it, it's been, you know, hitting me in the face on my feed, watching him do it. Some of the AI imagery that he put towards that lower playfield, which is the bathroom, I think. Yeah, yeah. That looks really, really good.
    63:35
It's funny, he started off with full-size flippers down there, I think, and then asked for some feedback and the guys were like, go to the mini ones. I actually said one would be cool to have it similar to like the Wizard of Oz. Yeah, to loop around.
    63:52
But obviously got more that AC DC style, you know, with the dual flippers, so that looks pretty cool down there. But he's got little tube on the outside of the cabinet. Yes, he's got a tube on the outside. I haven't seen what that does or how you get to that tube though. No, I haven't yet either. But it's pretty cool in the Blower Playfield, what he's done, because he got a centre pop bumper there. And if you hit it to the right, there's a hidden entrance, which then takes it up around. It comes back out behind the pop bumper. So then it bounces around. Okay, so it stays in that lower play field. Yeah, correct. Okay. Yeah, nice. So how do you get out? That was to the right or the left?
    64:25
I'm not too sure how you get out of there. But I know you come... You've got to be up on the upper play field, hit it around, then it comes down a wire from, Pass the diverter, then across the playfield into like a hole there. I don't know exactly how he's done, but another rail form that goes into there. But I'm not sure how you get out. As you said, his time frame in completing it, like, I mean, obviously he's still working on a white one at the moment. So it doesn't look like there's any inserts. Does he have rules and his idea behind all that? He's been day and night working on it.
    65:00
He wants to have it ready by the Melbourne Pinball Expo. I mean, is that likely by the sounds of it? I don't know, man. It just, look. Even if he has a prototype running, it doesn't have to finish. Yeah, look, I've said to him, honestly, he was worried, you know, I don't want to, like, he's worried that if it's not working, people are like, okay, but you know what, that machine, I think if you bring it, even if it's not working, for people to see what you've done from scratch, even for kids, mate, it just lets people know that if you bring it, You put your mind to something and do enough study and research on it. And with technology we have today with YouTube and all these forums and that, everyone jumping in to help, you can pretty much do anything, right? Yeah, correct. So even if it's not working, bring it. You can display it. Absolutely fantastic. If it's working, it's a bonus. So now he's got a few more people trying to help him because obviously the programming, there's a lot more involved than what he thought. Sort of getting a bit above his pay grade possibly. Which is okay, clearly.
    66:05
But if you can get it going, it'll be great. I've said to him, look, if you need anything, let us know. We can shoot you through to the right people. He needed some parts. I'll put him on to PSPA and Pinball House. I said they've got a lot of parts. So just go through them, see if they can get you any unique. Because he's been getting them all from overseas. Oh, sure. So it's been costing him a fortune. He's not in Pinball at all. He's never been in it. Didn't even know. So he's built this economy. That says more about the advertisement here in Australia and their Google. Oh, yes, it's 100%. It's more about anything, though. So he wanted to buy a pinball machine, but it was so expensive. He thought he'd build his own, and, you know, obviously... That's just becoming as expensive. So if you jump on to, what is it, Australian Homebrew... Pinball Australia. Homebrew Pinball Australia. See, there you go. I've literally... And it's got the follow button there to follow. But that's literally a half a dozen. Yeah, one, two, three, four, my fifth, sixth one in my feed of Facebook. He's got his kid playing it by the look of it. Yeah, so he's actually doing really well. So we're really looking forward to having him there. Yep. Fits in well with our theme. I saw he was having some issues with going around Billy's head. So I was actually going to suggest to him maybe get it like Eddie's Eddie boards. So instead of having to hit those targets, because they kept on making the ball run around and it wasn't running around smooth, so having like an eddy ball like the Theater Magic Trunk or CV to the ball that's under there instead of actually having to hit targets. Right, okay. So are there targets in front of his face? There are. I think they're just targets left and right. In front of his face. Yeah, but he says he's going to remove one of them. Yeah, that's what it means. It's too narrow. He could use an eddy sensor instead. You need to jump on and send him a message. I will.
    67:59
He wouldn't even know what an eddy board is. Okay, fair enough. All the ramps and all of that look cool. Like he's going for that sort of rusted style bloody look, which looks pretty good. Oh, yeah, it looks mad. Yeah, looking forward to... Have you seen him in person? Have I seen him in person? Yeah. Okay, I'm sorry. Because I know he's located in Melbourne. Yeah, he's based in Melbourne. Well, good luck. What do you reckon? Good luck. What do I reckon? I reckon you wanted to have a bit of a discussion about widebodies and why we're not seeing them anymore. We are still seeing them, obviously, from Spooky. Yep. So they're still making them. Obviously, Spooky machines aren't really sighted machines. They're more so collector's items these days, I really believe. Most of these machines probably just live in people's houses. Do you reckon? I would agree. I think for Australia, the operators are few and far between. And obviously Stern doesn't make wide-body machines whatsoever. No, not for ages. Ever. I don't remember that. Not in this era, not in the last 20 plus years. So that's obviously probably cost-cutting as well. Having less mix on the playfield that can go wrong when a machine's on site. So less downtime for the site operator as well. They're a Freudian machine, as we know.
    69:15
Demo man just puts his hand up and argues. Yeah, that's right. But you know what? Honestly, you know how you say they're making, you know, for all these businesses to have their machines to make a good bit of corn out of it. There's not many of them anymore. Surely the market's more towards the housing market.
    69:36
Oh, it is. In Australia, yes. More than not America. America would still have a lot of operators out there. You don't reckon there'd be more in the home than operators? No, there probably still are, but I'm just saying in regards to the... So obviously we speak specifically about our Australian content, so I think here in Australia there is a lot more home use comparable. But in America, we would be maybe 90% home to 10% operators. I'd probably say so. America might be 60%, 70% home to 30%. So then why wouldn't you build towards the home then?
    70:14
If the demographics have changed. No, because there's still bloody pushing out a lot of machines, mate. People are still buying standard bodies. Well, I'm not talking about Stern in general. I'm talking about, if you're talking about wide bodies and your Sains. I think they do both. I think the themes and everything are still very much towards the collector. So I think in the back of their minds, they have what would the next person want to buy.
    70:40
But I think if you talk specifically about Stern, their pro model is specifically for operators. Yes, correct. Do they sell many pros? Oh, yeah. Yeah, they do. Yeah, they pump them out heaps. That's usually what's on site in Australia too. Yeah. Yeah, well, that's what I was asking. If they sell, how many pros they would sell? Yeah. We wouldn't know numbers, but yeah. No, that'd be anywhere between 3,000 to 5,000. Okay. I would think at a stab, but you tend to find that the homeowner, I would have thought, would generally gear towards more the premium and the elite. But like I was saying, Spooky Pinball are still manufacturing these wide bodies. Yeah, well they did Evil Dead as their last one, which surprised me. And before that was Scooby-Doo.
    71:24
Okay. Oh, sorry, no, before that was Looney Tunes and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Okay. Is a new one a wide body? What, Bedwood Juice? No. It's not. It's a standard body. It's gone back to standard. Yeah. Pretty damn sure it's a standard body, otherwise I've got my wires crossed. But no, it's a pretty short standard. Yeah. But I believe they will go back to wide bodies as well in the future. They might do a couple of standards and go to a wide body. But if you have a look at the wide bodies that have been done sort of from say even 2010 onwards, like Pirates of the Caribbean, Hobbit, Wizard of Oz. Some of these machines are just killer. Mate, but imagine if the Hobbit had the same flippers like Elton John and the new machines from Jersey Jack. But you can change it. No, I know you can, but I'm just saying. But that to me doesn't detract from the game. What I'm saying is if I had those flippers on those wide-body machines from Jersey Jack, they wouldn't be floaty. Because it's not like, as you said, Demolition Man. Or even bloody Judge Dredd. I don't find Hobbit too floaty personally. I feel like there's, just because of the shots, you know, that orbit's quite quick. Just because they're wide and long shots, that's right. I think so. And you've got the, obviously, the trolls that pop up, so they sort of break it up and come back at you. So, I don't know. I feel like Woz is definitely floaty. Yeah, 100%. Boris the Carabinoe, wouldn't it? No, it's pretty fast. Yeah, it's pretty fast. You know, so... But honestly, I'd love to actually see Keith Elwin make a wide body. I'd love to see what he could do with that. Yeah. Just, everything he does is so fast as it is, but I'd like to see if this would slow it down, or he'd just have even more bloody... More shots. More shots, yeah. More ramps, yeah. So, I was also thinking of myself as well that the one Juicy Jack machine I think should have been a wide body, It was Guns N' Roses. I just believe it would have been better off as a wide body and it wouldn't be such a brick fest. I just think it would have shot better. I reckon Harry Potter. You reckon it should have been? Yeah. I love how fast that is. But it's flowy. I mean, it's a fair bit, but I just think you could imagine how much more you could have done. Isn't it funny we're all going towards JJP because I think Godfather could have been a wide body. Oh, actually, when I first saw it come up originally, I thought it was a wide body. It's too tight. No, no, it's too tight. That is tight. So if they had it just given that, an extra metre or whatever needed, it's probably only 20-30 centimetres to be classified as a wide body, but if they had it given that, I just reckon that would be much better. I don't think they're doing any more wide bodies, are they? From Jersey, we don't know that. I mean, Stern don't do it, Jersey Jacks, we haven't seen one for a while. We haven't seen them since The Hobbit.
    73:57
American Pinball won't do any, will they, or have they ever done any? I don't think you like to tank for some wide body. American Pinball, did they do Alien? No, that was Pinball Brothers. Highway, yeah. Highway, and then Pin, yeah. But yeah, but I also thought to myself, if there was a Stern machine out there, that would have liked to have been a Y-Body. Avengers, Infinity Quest. I would have liked that as a Y-Body. Yeah, that would have been good. And also even Jack Danger's The Uncanny X-Men. I think that would have worked really well as a Y-Body. That one I can see more so than Avengers. Just with that extra side there, I think it would have worked really well. Yeah. But I guess you can only work with the tools they've got. So Stern, get on it. Make a wide body. Make us a cool wide body with Elwin. Yep. I mean, when you look back on the wide bodies that have been done, you know, and if you go back even to the 80s, like obviously most of the Hankins were, so you had Empire Strikes Back, Shark, Dennis, but, you know, I mean, obviously they shoot pretty uniquely. But, you know, big game, Cheetah, Embryon, you know, on Haunted House, some huge classic old machines. So when done right, it doesn't matter how floaty they might feel. Yeah, but are those machines floaty? They're not, bloody cheaters not floaty at all. They're just bloody... Oh, cheaters are a bit floaty. You reckon? Yeah. Then why do you always drain on it? Because it's so fucking floaty. I can't read that. I'm not used to reading the slow ball. I think that's just the bloody divots in the playfield. All the sunken, sunken, sunken inserts. Yeah, could be. Could be. But what about you guys? Is there any machines that you would have thought could have been... I said the only one I came to mind was Godfather. I don't think Sterns of recent. X-Men definitely is probably a good point to make. But you asked me about any Sterns. I don't know if there's any Sterns. As you said, X-Men's a good one. Okay, so we're getting to the end, guys, so I appreciate that you've stuck around for this long. Actually, then again, guys, you could send us an email, let us know if you have any suggestions of what you think of a Stern machine or even JJP machine, any machine, which could have been a potential awesome whitebody. Yep. So send us an email at pinballerswide at hotmail.com. Correct. Or you can shoot us a message on the page or a private message through our Facebook channels, whichever way you want to go, whatever's easiest. I'll call Jared on 04007.

Did you ever do that? I did that with Ghostbusters. Mate, you can't fucking stand up and not talk into the mic. I'll just put it on the Facebook page.
    76:24
Did you guys do that with Ghostbusters? Call 9555 and whatever the number was? No. Oh, I did. No. It wasn't a number. Are you serious? Of course. You actually called it. Mate, I was fucking 12 or whatever. Why wouldn't I? For fuck's sake. But you know what I used to always do as a kid? I would always dial 199 on the phone. Hang it up. Start it ring. Hang it up. Right out of the room. And Mum comes in to answer the phone, Matt, you're doing it again.
    76:47
I'm not doing anything. I'm watching TV. I'd do that like once and twice a day just to do it. Too funny. And also people who didn't like it used to get a private, just the phone boxes as well. Emails. I just got one from Mulder Scully, which is Ken and Jules. We chatted a couple of months ago about how they were sort of throwing out the fishing net with a few machines for sale. And I just sort of said they're just casting out a few machines. They grabbed a few, which was right. So he just sort of came back to us. So this is end of March, a couple of days after we did our last podcast, actually. So he writes, just wanted to say how much we enjoy the general banter, the topics you guys bring to the table and your general take on things. I appreciate that. It's great having an Australian-based podcast to listen to, and we especially have been enjoying the YouTube clips you've been putting up lately. So I appreciate it. Mind you, we haven't seen what Matt looks like yet. See, he doesn't want me in it. He did say definitely ahead for podcasts. So yeah, maybe we'll throw Matt up there if he's got important things to say. Although the fact that he's not watching my YouTube means he's not. I even commented on it last time. We are based up in central Queensland and it's a bit of a pinball desert up here. So that's why they've put their own collection together, averaging 22 games at the moment. So that's a nice collection to have for sure. I had 22 once. And then he goes on to say, You have noted on previous podcasts that we moved a few machines on regularly, but we like freshness variety of new machines through the collection and aren't really known for bolting a game to the floor. We're also into 3D printing. Phew, what a rabbit warren that is to go down, which is 100% true.

Continues by saying, Anyway, just wanted to say thank you to both of you for doing what you do. We agree 90s machine rules, scammers are bottom dwellers and how lucky fortunate we are to be able to afford to be involved in this great hobby. Thanks again. Keep up the great work. Ken and Jules, aka Mulder Scully. So thank you guys. Appreciate it. I've been chatting a little bit obviously. That's a lovely email. Thank you. So appreciate the reaching out and the touch base and little chats we're having. It's good, mate. So thank you very much. We like that feedback. That's great feedback. Yeah, 100%. Come on guys, send us some more emails. Without a doubt. Admin rants, I think. Any issues? I don't know. Any issues on your page, George? You got an admin rant from Melbourne Pinball Expo? No, no, I've just launched the event today, this morning. Our webpage will go up maybe next week or the week after, so there's nothing to rant about. We discussed it earlier, everyone's happy. You got anything to rant about, Matty?
    79:24
I don't think so. I don't think so. I think it's been pretty good, hasn't it? I think so. People still just not answering questions on the bloody thing. And I started getting patient the other day. I'm like, you've been there 17 hours. You're going. It's close enough, 24. I was like, no, I didn't like that. Yeah, I know. I don't know why people just don't click okay. Yep. It's weird. And quickly too, if you are a business page, so a pinball business page that's located in Australia, do me a favor and just reach out to us and let us know who you are. Because with all due respect, I'm declining those pages that might only be a few weeks old or more because I just don't know how to wade through scammers or non-scammers. So, you know, if you're somebody, a person in the hobby, you know, just reach out to me or Matt, you know, and just say, hey, guys, I want to join the page. Here's my, you know, here's my business. It's legit. This is who I am. Blah, blah, blah. And then we can accept you. So maybe just keep that in the back of your mind if you listen to this podcast.
    80:27
If you do, please subscribe. Yes. Thank you, guys. Subscribe to our podcast. We'd love to increase those listeners. Once again, thank you, everyone. And we'll be back next month doing it again. We'll be back a little bit earlier because I think we'll do one at nil. Are we going to do another one at the end of the month as well? So there'll be two. Even a week after. So you're going to do two in a month? Yeah. Oh, you'll be busy. Plus your video. Plus my videos. Yeah, I churn out about three or four a month of that. Yeah, it'd be good to keep doing them. Yeah, I'm trying. Thank you, mate. Guys, as always, appreciate it, George. Thanks for coming down, man. Thanks, George. Thanks, Jaron. Thanks, Matt. Let's have some beers. Oh, yeah, 100%. Thanks, guys. See you next month.
    81:22
Now, I'm just going to put this podcast on hold for one second because I have a surprise for that. Oh, here we go. That I just wanted to do live as a recording, so I'm just going to go and get it and I'll come back. All right, so just give us a second. It's going to be a butt plug. Is it? Of course it is. George is in on it. You'd need a big one, wouldn't you? You might not even feel it. 100%. I'm not in on it. I don't know nothing about this, mate.
    82:04
You know, we would listen to him. Yep. He had ad nauseum almost. You'd have a what? What did you say? No, I didn't have ad nauseum. Oh, Jesus, I thought you said orgasm. No. Sorry, mate, I'll just... Oh, George has pulled a hamstring. Are you going to do the rest of the podcast standing up? If so. I've got one hand. Well, that's okay. Bring your mic up.
    82:27
Oh, my God. We're almost done. It's gone. You all right? Yes.
