thank you everybody for being patient Carlos what's up what's up brother Saturday morning morning we've got a a little bit of a chiller day here it's like spring is in the air the sun came out this week everyone's been having a good time Jurgen Josh are you still doing marketing for Jameson I am still doing marketing for Jameson uh for some reason they decided to sort of not do any activation this year so I don't have a big St Patrick's Day sorry activation uh last year's was awesome Saturday night uh St Patrick's Eve I just think they um you know it's on a Monday and I think they wanted to take a little bit of a pause on investing in it yeah the kids don't drink is much but you know what they're not going to drink more if you stop marketing I think you got to Market through some of the um through some of the stuff here here's my Guns and Roses My Guns and Roses I'll talk about it in a little bit but I just I cheated I explain how I cheated uh and I got to not in this lifetime but my game died like right as I got to not in this lifetime so I am going to talk about that on this episode we're going to talk about the Calm before the April storm we're gonna get I think maybe just one game out in March and then the rest is GNA come sometime in April April is going to be silly it's going to be silly as everybody tries to get their pinball stuff out tomorrow Market at the same time I'm I'm excited to see it I don't think every game is going to find a buyer I think there's going to be winners and losers and I think there's going to be you know a lot of um people watching these releases I think with a lot more patience because I think now more than ever the uh the reality has set in for pretty much everybody that no game is hard to get every game has lost a lot except for like a tiny tiny number of games and the old games are just just that in my honest opinion there's a lot of older games that people think are worth a lot more than they really are and we'll talk a little bit about the market conditions what's happening in the world how is that going to impact pinball sales nobody has a crystal ball but we can see where things are trending and I think that's how I like to look at this hobby is every week we see Trends happening around enthusiasm for titles I I love popping into the owner club and just reading what people are are reacting to their new games and yeah like you know it's just but if I had to put a you know a finger on it I think everybody is like waiting for the next Godzilla still it's just like kind of where we're at like Jaws never became the like the T of the Town it really didn't we haven't had a game in a few years that universally everybody is just like that's awesome and I think that's what everybody's waiting and hoping for still though when you really think about the themes about to come out in the world are are these themes really speaking to most of you I mean are these the dream themes as I said in my last podcast Guns and Roses dream band I love G&R you know I I think that it's uh it's interesting though when you hear your favorite band's music over and over over and over again in a pinball machine I I'm kind of like you know I'm kind of over it and and I'll explain my sort of feelings on G&R in a little bit I think a lot of you uh who have this machine or have had it or have played it I think we all have a sort of similar things we like things we don't like it's not a game that deserves the vitriol it gets it's the bestselling Jersey Jack game ever but it's also a game that divides people and we'll talk about that in a little bit how much you're G to sell guns for well how much you got well I'm not I'm not delusional I'm not a delusional seller and I don't like things to be on the market for a long time I think that guns and& roses collector aition ition uh with an extra Playfield and two extra playfields I have the the main one and the small one I I think this game sells on the market right now if I want to get it gone like cash on the table I'm I'm looking at 11 firm I think 11 firm is kind of where I'm at with this game I don't you know I don't think I don't think I'd get 12 right now uh it's interesting only 500 so I don't know I don't know I I'm I I really I really don't know anymore it's like this game is like there there's none for sale right now the CES are right now there's no CES for sale what were you saying about G&R reminds me very much about what happened with W um yeah so we we'll talk let's talk about the news stuff I'll get the G&R in a little bit I I just cheated on the game I want to just talk about it now and then we'll get to the new stuff so I just cheated and I just wanted to like get through the game to see more of the game I I on my own on my own skill with three ball I have been able to start all the albums not in one game maybe but I've been able to start album albums and songs and get to the mini wizard modes I've seen all that I've started slash solo I've started the World Tour the only thing I wasn't able to get to was the not in this lifetime uh no Sympathy for the Devil so what I did because you know me I'm I'm just getting a little tired of the outlane drains is I I didn't even realize this was a thing you could just do the coin door open it up and it it initiates the ball save so I just played a game and just did that it it's it's cheating it's stupid it's not that fun it changes the way you play you're not really focused and you don't need to be focused you're more you know I had the coin door open not even locking it and so like I was leaning against it with my knee to just pop it open every time the ball would drain just to I just wanted to just get through the game even with that like here's is crazy even with that it still was like a half hour or more to kind of get through the game and then I started getting some weird stuff happening with the game I got the upper guitar neck the you know the two pins that hold the ball up there if I'm staring at it the one on the right just started acting up and and was firing the optos were like miscalibrated then I got that switch error that says the right and left flipper switches and then in the middle is this normal in not in this lifetime do the flippers in some of the you got to like shoot each character do the flippers switch at one point or slashes like backwards I don't know that's what happened on my game all of a sudden the flippers switched then the lower flippers all died on me and only the upper flippers were working this is how my game ended and I got that switch error on the those two flippers but now I mean the game is playing fine I don't know so I I'm a little bummed out that I that I cheated to get to the end to then not even be able to play the end because the game sort of crapped out on me um so yeah all right so that's Guns R as I said on my show I I still think the game is there there's a great game in here if they simplified it there's a great game in there if they made it a little bit easier um and if they made it you know what's hard about G&R is there's times when like you could legit just start two songs could be 25 minutes November reain and a strange like just two songs that's not getting to those songs that's not many wizard modes that's one of the like the cons of this game is sometimes you're like oh man I really don't want to play this I love I really would swap out like a long song for yesterday's or Knocking on Heaven's Door like I the 10minute opuses are are brutal to you know November Rain it's like ah like all right what do you think about Gary Stern announcing a price increase today did he announce a price increase today I don't know did I don't did I don't think he did did he did I miss that we're gonna talk about all the new stuff what's up Albert how's it going brother um we're gonna talk about all the new stuff waiting for the X-Men topper H man it's like the thing about X-Men guys is when you go into that thread it is sad it's a sad State like everybody's hoping that that game has some sort of turnaround that there's going to be a moment where it's uh you know it's gon to get this code update and it's gonna become this new game it's never happening Kong is GNA be Spike three Kong is going to be Spike three um and I think um I think it's going to come with a $600 price increase I didn't make this number up that is what the uh the people I've been saying this my sources and other sources and I think it's going to be 13,600 for the Le and I I would just add $600 to every model so the premium would be 103 and the pro will be what is the 6600 something like that I don't know I don't even know what the pro is now 6,000 7,000 uh I I look gang gang the prices of everything are going up I I don't look that price increase was coming before tariffs hit any of these companies I think a lot of people are just going to make decisions that they need to slow down and and I'm seeing this all over the interwebs and I I think in overall the desire just keep accumulating more of of these things that men collect every year it just loses a little bit more and more of of its cache and and I mean that like whether it's pinball arcade Machines toys watches you want you think Pinball's gone through a a market correction you should go if you if any of you collect watches man at the height of covid people were paying like 30,000 Plus for an Omega Snoopy which I think is like 12 or 16 from Omega 30 grand right and now now they're are diamond dozen everywhere for 16 15 because Supply CAU up with demand you keep telling price increases kill sales but people still I you know Bruno like I'm not sure here's the thing about all pinball sales we don't know any numbers from the large manufacturers and look at spooky sales like they still have not sold out of Evil Dead and it's been four months so I think that sales have slown down down I don't even know how to speculate how well D and D is selling versus X-Men versus John Wick versus Venom I don't know I I don't know I I wish Stern would release its numbers but they um they don't so it's I have to imagine that D and D is not flying off the shelves they're making more Godzillas again what what I don't get is who doesn't who by now who can't find a Godzilla premium I I mean the fact that more Godzilla premiums are on the line I don't I don't understand I mean maybe there's just so much demand Mr Christopher franie so franie um clever clever artwork on that Spooky Box has everybody talking about Gremlins should have Canada ripping through that box I think spooky has Gremlins and Beetlejuice I think they do I think that's the next two games I think it's Beetle Juice maybe then Gremlins um I think Spooky's got a lot of fun stuff I think spooky next titles are going to sell much faster than Evil Dead uh because of the themes and boutiques are in the driver's seat right now said it's just a tribute so franie I mean I I could ask you directly right now can you confirm that they don't have Gremlins see this is like a lot of like the new Chris you know Mr franie comes here Chris thank you for hanging out and you know sometimes he'll just dispel a rumor and that's great it's news Okay so he just confirmed that they do not have Gremlins and I see I love it I love it it's it's great and it's um you know now and like I I love that you come here and you you give us you know just confirmation like an it it's smart it is so smart to do what franie just did because the last thing you want to do and and I think barrels of fun needs to understand this is if you don't have something that people really want you to make and you have like Dune and everybody wants GI Joe or Goonies I I mean at some level barrels of fun I think should be a little bit more active in just dispelling some of the rumors like remember when everyone was like it's Fifth Element it's not Fifth Element there's no way the Bruce Willis estate is gonna sign up for that game so but they never they never comment on rumors at all I think it helps to to take a rumor off the table if it's not true because you don't want to uh disappoint people anyway yeah Goonies you know I I don't know I mean I think um the the David vanz said he wants to invite content creators he wants to invite uh Distributors two barrels to see the new game before he reveals it under NDA or something you know with embargo to coverage but okay until that invite goes out I and maybe they've changed their plans but until that invite goes out I think it's safe to say we're not going to see the new barrels game at tpf I think someone held up a ramp like a black little horseshoe ramp I'm like I don't care about this and it's stupid like if you're gonna tease something do it right like I don't need to see a ramp this the dumbest thing to teas with it could be anything you could put that that ramp could be anything it doesn't and it's not even like an exciting ramp you know it wasn't like they were holding up this crazy magic girl like ramp it it was just a little horseshoe ramp wow wow there's a ramp in the game I don't think Kong is strong enough themed to S great um Josh Josh come on come on don't guys don't say silly things King Kong Keith Elwin equals sales juggernaut just that's it that's it I don't King Kong is a strong theme I think Stern will release a Jaws anniversary this summer do I think uh yes I do um I do what what was Albert's uh podcast move your numbers will do well Albert where are you now did uh I don't are people still talking about the tppy Meltdown I mean it's it's weird to me it wasn't even a meltdown I I really don't understand I I think in the end like gang the the fact that the only thing people are talking about from the tppy was my 10-minute Facebook live is kind of funny no one talked about anything else nobody I haven't spoken to Jamie yet I bet I bet they're a little bit like bummed out that the show production was so bad and also you know bummed out that their weighted scoring I think is just going to make everybody not care I mean it was weird it's weird to almost have aund more votes and lose but who cares Cal's an awesome dude kale Cal kale Hernandez kale and Rachel awesome awesome people electric bat I mean look if I'm gonna lose I I couldn't lose to nicer people um really he you're you're on DPN now Albert um that's funny well enjoy I I think the days of like any pinball Network kind of amplifying anybody now like Albert what I would hope you can get to my numbers are down a little bit uh they're like 680 685 my monetary amount is not really down that much so it's like it's an interesting thing like if one person who gives $100 a month joins that that's like the same as 20 people at $5 leaving so it's like and I've had a really nice amount of people that have up up their amount to 15 or 30 a month which is nice so everybody who's raised the roof I really do appreciate it and you know look I I know there hasn't been much news I know that a lot of people are going through a lot of bills and financial hardships so I really appreciate every subscriber I get um something is coming from super awesome awesome man we love super awesome um the thing is let's talk about portal let's start where the news is at so gang we've got portal pinball not even teased Jerry's like revealed it pretty much um not the game but like theme still hasn't come out in said portal uh Carrie Hardy has a hard on for it he's seen it under NDA secret n Carrie Hardy has signed and he says it's a hit and he says it's the best game that multimorphic made to date and multimorphic hasn't really made great games to date not that they're bad it's just I would say they're a lot like spooky in that every game better than the previous game but it's still it's still going to be interesting here's what I don't get did have they even shipped to customers The Princess Bride Collector's Editions with the swords on the side of the cabinet have they even made like any of those yet so I I just don't like I feel like Jerry's gonna announce this game and the earliest people are going to get it again is going to be like the Fall Canada and I are going to start the podcast Superstars Network we should um so yeah I just don't like I don't really uh I I think anyone who goes in on these though like they know the delays they know Jerry will get you your product but I just don't I I'm curious because people are saying they've addressed the issues with the lower half of the Playfield okay uh I'm sure it's just more stuff floating over the screen with crazier ways to do that um used arcade prices have dropped yeah everything's look gang I I don't know about you but my my take on everything is this like the wages aren't haven't gone up but every the cost of everything's gone way up and the the desire to own INF flex and like okay I got this I got I think everyone's starting to realize like maybe maybe what we should be doing is aiming for happiness and balance and peace of mind and I think a lot of people are getting there see to me pinball and we'll get into it it's all about the people so P3 let's talk about it Princess Bride orders Jesse though Jesse did they make the ones in this the dedicated Princess Bride cabinets I haven't seen anybody unbox those I heard them announced that all the or I I think they I think they fulfilled all the orders for the modular uh units that were ordered but has anyone seen an unboxing with the enrigo Montoya is that his name swords on the side of the game has anyone seen that version go out to a customer the collector's edition I no it won't Albert there there will there will never be a P3 title that's sells like hot cakes I I don't even that that is like oxymoron it it's it's um it's just it's just for people who want something different I think the game is here's what I think Jerry's done though I I think multimorphic I think multimorphic has shown that their engineering and their toys and their creativity is phenomenal like to me they're making everybody else look look cheap look lazy if I were to tell you that spooky pinball and multimorphic are putting more toys in their games than Jersey Jack pinball and charging a lot less money wouldn't like if I were to tell you that like four years ago you'd be like you're crazy look how many toys are in Evil Dead look how many toys are in Avatar I I it's just like I can't wait can't wait for spooky to get the theme with the toys with franie with the rule set these guys are man they like I I will I will own a spooky game within two years one of their newer titles um I I just I just need something you know I think about all the themes coming out Pokemon I'm not into Pokemon Let me let me be honest King Kong n not really into King Kong I I know King Kong I I met him a few times no I'm just I I don't really I don't really it's not it's not really a theme I want um portal no I haven't even thought about portal until it was announced that multimorphic might be making it uh Francy says I bet you buy the next one I I probably will I I have money set aside for that I don't really care about I you know I I don't know what Barrel's title is if Dune that's an easy pass and I'm going to buy predator I've already said I'm buying Predator I'm buying Predator because I love that movie it's probably my favorite Arnold movie it's probably the Arnold movie I've seen the most it's probably the Arnold movie where I remember the most lines from it and if they get all the assets from the movie it's going to be good I mean the assets is are going to be good I think the game's going to be terrible this is like a weird thing to say right I'm gonna buy a game that I am fully expecting to be horrible because I haven't seen the pinball Brothers make a game on their own that's been good so I hope I'm wrong I hope it's awesome it's going to go in my garage I'm moving the Neo GEOS upstairs and as I said on my show guner roses work of art very good experiential machine kind of over it kind of over it I I kind of O I'm I'm over I'm over it I just I just the way it shoots uh the the lack of feeling reward when you get to multiballs or two modes I'm just over it yeah I just you know had a lot of fun with it I think gun roses is is a six months and and it moves on machine you know yeah I I might be selling it Brenda I just I don't I just don't I don't know you know it's like the hard thing about these Jersey Jack machines is when you when you when you go stand over a Stern they look so cheap next to Jersey Jack machines I I remember the like it's the reason why I sold my Batman SLE because like I remember standing over Willie Wonka and it and it made Batman look like a tinker toy now you know Batman is the better game but still you know very da and cheap looking compared to that to to Wonka I don't know I just think I'm I just think um I just think Guns and Roses you know it um it it's a game too where I wish they would have they would add more songs why not they like slash I just Jersey Jacks got got more owners of this machine than any of their games and they haven't done anything they haven't Haven done anything more and I don't understand why they won't surprise and Delight their fans you know once a year with like a new thing like a new track how hard can it be to code a new song into the game add some more call outs have a secret mystery mode like they don't do anything I mean they didn't even like adjust the settings from the factory to make this game better I had to go on pinside and and see owners doing it so I don't I don't know I don't know why they're done with it like do some stuff like add another few songs from use your Illusion 2 add some more songs from Chinese Democracy like just I don't know just add another song from lies I you know Brenda you're on camera there it is there's the wave everybody loves Brenda now after she calmed me down during my mini meltdown down she had you know what someone said and they're like oh divorce is next he's going to get divorced yeah okay you heard that Brendon they don't think we're gonna last after 10 years you know 10 years with a sassy Irish wife if you thought that would we're in it we're in it we got married later in life we we vetted other people to the point where like we knew what we wanted um it yeah it's um you really I don't know I don't know I I have um I'm like really excited for April what do you guys think the barrels a fun theme is yeah write in the chat I want we got n one people here what do you think the barrels of fun theme is going to be Dune I know it's Dune David how do you know it's Dune I don't think it's GI Joe I mean I look I Dune is the one that a lot of us have heard I hope it's Goonies I can't tell come on these guys like let me tell you this I'll tell you this barrels to me has they've got some they've got they need to prove something on this game I'll tell you why Labyrinth has no real toys in it and I you know when when you when you play Labyrinth you know don't be fooled by little Pez dispenser heads popping up all over the place there's no toys in that game really so I'm I'm like I'm hoping this company has upped their engineering game because spooky has multimorphic has Stern's got a big army of Engineers Jersey Jack better up it man they can't be empty freaking Harry Potter I you know I like I I did feel when I played Labyrinth at automated it was a little little you know just a little like it was like neither here nor there for me right it was neither here nor there like I didn't I didn't like hate it it just didn't do anything for me and I I haven't seen the movie in years and there was no Jennifer Connelly there there I just I I just it just didn't grab me and and because I just don't know the theme that well like you know when I when I turn on Predator regardless of how crappy the game is it's GNA pull me into the Predator movie because I I know that movie so well Chris is it true the best toy in Harry Potter is the snitch scramp what what is the I don't even know what that is spooky is King right now um no they're not uh they're they're not King right now I mean Stern Pinball makes more games in a week than spooky has sold of Evil Dead I think spooky is the best uh is the they're the best Boutique right now they're the best uh at community relations I think they're the best at transparency I think they're having the most fun and that's addictive and when you see a team having fun you know I don't think Jack danger is having fun I don't I remember when I saw Jack at the stern Factory like he looked like he was like like without sleep for weeks uh I don't think uh you know I I just the vibe over at Stern feels more of a corporation and pressure it's not like it's not fun it's fun making pin mom but I don't feel like they get to do what spooky gets to do which is as a team you know no one's internally there competing with each other I don't think there's like Egos and a-holes I think they're all like in it together to make each game special and then when they get uh the ability to reveal it and they have a good sales day then they're set for the rest of the year Stern pimpo doesn't have that luxury like they go to like they got to manage three to four new titles a year they've got a huge line they've got hundreds of people that they have to pay salary for they have to deal with the logistics of sending product all over the world of sourcing materials and parts from all different countries now that are about to impose tariffs they they've got investors who demand a certain bottom line and expectations on return on that investment it doesn't seem like the gang and Benton that can just closeup shop at five and I'll go have some brisket and beers and and celebrate the fact that we just put five million in pre-order money in the bank you know I just feel like all right so I I don't know like I think the fun guys are are doing great I think barrels is a company that uh they haven't shown us behind the scenes they're they're a company that's more secretive what's going on at barrels ironic because their name is barrels of fun uh so if they're not having fun then they don't have the right company name but I don't see barrels of fun having fun you know it's like if I I be serious like I don't see barrels of fun showing us them having fun every week and that's that's it like I I think David David just runs a different kind of company not that it's not fun but I it's just not the same Jersey Jack pinball is no it's I think Jersey Jack pinball is more fun to be at than Stern from what I've heard from people who have done both but I think at jjp it's it it seems a little more sedated and you can feel that when you walk around jjp it just doesn't have the energy or the wow of stern and doesn't have like the campiness and the coolness of spooky I I feel like jjp you know let me just I I just feel like they're a company that's that is what they are like they're a company where they're all salaried employees they know it and there I I just I just don't feel like they have the Swagger they should for the kind of product they make and the the resources they have I feel like J JP hasn't really had any Swagger since G&R they haven't they haven't had a hit since G&R they haven't had uh you know a round of applause from everybody they haven't won you know like best game and best this and best that like they just they just have had disappointment after disappointment again the games are not terrible but you know they took stuff out the toys weren't there the creativity wasn't there the themes were not there Stern all these tariffs man what is going on in the world with these tariffs with the economy with your 401K with your crypto it's very volatile you know very volatile I don't pretend to be an expert on these things and I know I'm very happy when I sold my New York City Apartment and I took all of the cash and I'm put a 100% of it against the mortgage on this house so this house is now like 75 80% paid for that's that's good to have a house in one year which is basically 75% paid for I'm feeling good I'm feeling good I'm I'm I have a later start in life and I I want to be out of housing debt I I still I have enough money to pay off the house and fall but I've got that money invested and we are putting money aside for the children's educations and you know I always like to have like like 30 or 40 Grand in my checking account just to have you like it's a weird thing it's a weird thing it's not smart but I just like to have like 30 grand I'd like to have like two two pinball machines I could buy like just like that I just like to have it just sit in there yeah yeah but you know but not not the smartest place it's not really you know it's not a saving it's just my checking uh yeah yeah now my problem is you get me you get me a little tipsy on espresso martinis and Canada walks in the Tiffany and buys Brenda a bracelet that cost more than a jersey Jack CE and then I'm like well you know looks great on her she's happy I'm happy I'd rather her have that actually the value in that won't go down as much as a pinball machine so if we ever needed to sell it times got tough Tiffany diamonds not bad um I made 230,000 in six months on Tesla's stock before Elon went nuts well yeah well you don't make it until you sell it brother you know my I you know I I won't say this um my my dad once told me the most amount of money he made in the market in one day I'm like wow wow and he's like yeah he's like let me also tell you the most amount of money I lost in the market in one day and it was like the same amount so it is what it is them the breaks um them the breaks so Bill brand is in the house how you doing Billy you know look I I live in a town so many people work in finance money money you know what you know what I love this town about my town has got this really great restaurant where when you go to the bar you're going to make a new friend that night and no matter where you come from you're not going to talk Finance like you see what I'm saying you you walk up to somebody you're not going to talk Finance you're going to talk about Hobbies you're going to talk about other stuff but I love that we live in a community where people are so friendly and so nice I mean it is it is a dream come true it's quiet I can walk to the train I can walk to the Village to not have to get in a car and live in a town where everything is accessible by foot kids can play outside no no double yellow no trucks going by I'm in heaven I'm in Heaven until I turn on this guns and roses and multiball no it's fun look um I love G&R I hate G&R it's it's like it's just there's day the out I will say this when I I for those of you who just joined I cheated I did the open coin door ball save for like 40 minutes just to get through the game to see not in this lifetime the game had some issues it kind of broke on me at the end but I just wanted to see like okay and I I will say the um it's it's laborious it's it it's it it does get a little chopping wood after a while and I I wish that it just had better layout like the that's just my thing ah let's see Bill Brandis well Bill the thing is is this when you when you have I didn't really have an option I had a pregnant wife and uh and yeah like people who bought in these BBS years ago they made out but the thing is is you're not really making out if you want to stay in the town you love so for example like these houses might have gone for 6 700,000 now they go for five in like five six years we just got it appraise but if you love your house in reden and you even if you made $800,000 you know on top of what you paid for it you you'd have to pay5 to live in the house you're currently in so what are you gonna what unless you're like retiring and you're cashing out or you came in as a you know a a developer or you bought these properties to flip which most people don't and you know my dad always said this you need a you need a home and the equity you put into your home pays you back in in Priceless ways and and that's the thing is like I wake up every day in a good mood for the most part in this house for the most part not every day but I love where I live I I did not love my Murray Hill apartment I I did not love Murray Hill I I loved things about New York City but I didn't wake up in New York City and say I I love this place I loved it when I was 22 and I had an apartment in in New York City I loved it when I was uh you know in my 20s going out late having a place to sleep always having a lot of room my own place my own bathroom my own bed it was great but this is a home and when I wake up in the morning and I hear the voices of Killian and Cassian and Brenda and we're down there having a cup of coffee and you hear the birds chirping and the sun's coming through the windows and fading your cabinet although it's not fading because I got UV film I'm happy you know it's I don't I I don't need anything more um that's it you don't need a home you need the next home you know it's funny uh you know my dad would always say when my dad was in his prime of his career and you know he probably should have Diversified some of his wealth into some real estate or maybe just one piece of property like he always loved the Jersey Shore he didn't but I will say I I love watching my dad's decisions in life because he always lived well below his means and now he's also very H he's been retired since he's been 55 and that's a baller I think I he was kind of forced into early retire but to be retired by 55 to never have to work a day in your life again make money every year off of your money and then do good for society like my dad drives elderly people around who can't get to things he helps them there he does other uh things for the community and and it's like you know he's like in a really good space and I talk to my dad every day I love my dad I think he's a I think he's a great human being and he's made a lot of sacrifices for his family uh and if we ever needed anything he'd be there for us and that's the kind of dad I want to be I will never make what my dad makes right now I did not work in finance or m&a I I did marketing I mean my job's fun but it does not deliver the equity so it is what it is um is is you know he's helping out he's helping out the uh thing about Corporate America nowadays is but these companies is like they don't give you the equity they used to so you know in my dad's day like much way more stock options way more uh you know they did 401ks my dad did one early on when nobody did and and then he also they got he has a pension the the concept of a pension now in these corporate jobs does not exist see we've replaced pensions with 401k and that's dangerous you know how many people I know my age and I'm I'm there you know they they get cut loose they get cut loose right before their kids are going to college they get cut loose they still got that mortgage payment they get cut loose they've got all those luxury car payments not where you want to be saving money is smart I just had to drop 10K on surgery for Barlo yeah you know dog surgery man and franie I hope he's doing okay dog surg is like it's like it's a must like there's no question like you you love these pups like they're your children ah you know someone once said something to me about just life and value and what we value like if challenge all right here we go lighting one thing I really wanted was to be able to play this game in the dark on Pandora you see everything in the daylight it's not until night time comes and you can see all that glow so we needed to bring that into the game so we introduced red green and blue UV inks on the Playfield doesn't look like that though UV spotlights everywhere UV hot rails UV back panel lighting we have ultraviolet inks and UltraViolet lighting and really it brings the world of Pandora right to you on the C get three colors of UV to get the full bolum minising experience yeah it doesn't look like even the fli it's amazing they're they're bright the Avatar franchise come to life when the lights are dimmed around you and the lights on this Playfield come up and you're seeing the bioluminesence seeing the inserts getting lit up I mean from underneath each insert there is UV lighting so we can light individual inserts with UV light as well as flood lights around it's an unbelievable lighting package right with UV light as well as flood lights around the Playfield okay so you see how do you see all this here the like look at all of the tattoos on their bodies are lit you this doesn't it the game never delivers this level of of any of it it it's crazy it's crazy um that I mean that was such a baiten switch such a and switch um Carrie Hardy's in the house so Carrie Carrie so you're now the uh the only one in here who's seen portal so Carrie you're you're saying this game's gonna be a hit what Carrie come on describe something what what did you see did you see a ball go into one portal and come out the other did you see that what are we G to get what are we going to get Carrie I mean we're all going to see it on Monday you got 48 Hours of exclusivity what are golf clap at this game well the thing is with P3 man is the the problem is that you can't look at any single P3 game in isolation right like if I look at Dungeons and Dragons I I can just have an opinion about this game I can decide whether or not I want it 100% based on what's in that game when portal comes out and I might want one I can't look at just portal I gotta ask myself do I also want the other games and do I how because because if you don't want the platform it's not worth buying for just one game so you have to want a a variety of what he offers and then you have to do the math on that so then you're in like you know 101,000 for the platform 15 for two games 18 for three game like I get it's cheaper than buying three Stern Lees or three Stern premiums but but it's a big but but you don't get this like unique beautiful thing that is beautiful when it's on when it's off it's dedicated I I just think that's the Quagmire of what Jerry brings to the market yeah I mean look Carrie I I haven't heard people talk about portal in maybe 15 years has anybody played portal in the last 10 years so that that's my thing it's like I just I I don't think portal is as relevant with this target audience uh as Sonic as Super Mario as I mean even Halo's got more current day appeal so I I just to your point yes it it feels right for the platform but a lot of people in pinball are like nothing feels right for the platform because the platform isn't right for most people all right cool now I guess the thing Carrie like what what I'm excited to see and and we saw this with Princess Bride it's seeming like Jerry is is offering what seemingly looks much more like a dedicated cabinet and and game for these new launches like there's a dedicated Princess Bride collector's edition available uh you know this you know I'm just thinking I think this game's going to have like a Topper that's playable I I think this game is re I think something's going to go into a portal on the lower below the glass and I think there's going to be a game above it or maybe in the backbox even because think about it that whole backbox area is I think I think this is gonna I think they're going to have something unique I mean if if I'm thinking about how you would do portal Banzai Run the damn thing I maybe H Halo is not a good theme for pinball I I 90% of the pinball buying demographic would rather have the A Team or Magnum PI over Halo one day people are going to actually realize what Nostalgia does how Nostalgia buying power is franie gets it Superman's from the 70s Wonder Woman like this stuff is what people want Purple Rain like you Nostalgia will sell way better than you know video game properties that are kind of fatigue a little bit that are newer Sonic is is nostalgic but like Sega Genesis Sega like Sonic if they if jery Jack makes the Sonic movies not so much I don't want the Sonic movies I don't I don't connect with that pimball um yeah I mean look I hear good things about final resistance but again I I don't hear it from many people it's like D and D you know it's like doesn't it feel like DN D hype is gone is it just me I'm just not I I don't know that that hype lasted for like a couple weeks and maybe it was the motor problems but like I just don't feel like DN D is it me I don't know like I I just don't see the conversation snowballing around how amazing D and D is and I don't know if like the randomizing has happened I think there's there's a lot of bugginess in the code well is DN D good is it like is it like in comparison to the stern machines that have become iconic is DND D like I get I look there's always launch parties everywhere and I could even drive to Automated Amusements today I might even do that to be honest I going smoothly they they send you notes how unless you make it more comfortable for them they they they're not sure they can work on the business with you okay not sure that's how it works not sure you're junior you do what it takes you figure out the pain points you find the solutions and you deliver results that's how you get promoted that's how you make more money that's how you impress the know who to trust I think that's the thing too is I I think um when people are entitled and young they they think their feelings are valid and should be shared universally regardless of the recipient you ever notice that like kids just think they can tell you how they feel like you give a damn like you're not my child you're you're my cooworker and and I get it but but don't open up don't open up to me when what you're opening up about is like Flatout criticism of of how we're running this business or the clients or the work stream you know it's like come with Solutions it's it's just funny to hundred more votes and lost a favorite pinball podcast category would you be a little bit like upset or confused I don't know I'll tell you why I lost it's because my damn fans didn't even show up the last time I won I had over 600 votes for first place this time only 200 and something I don't get it colins like more people voted than ever before how how did more people vote when I had 400 less votes I think by having 30 people on the dropdown he diluted all the voting for sure because before remember it was just the top like eight or 10 and then you had a write in the rest I mean that it's just like so whatever it is it became what it became Gino Bazi I'm crying about this is that is am I crying right now Gino weird like people are weird I don't even understand do people even know what me believe me I don't when I walk in my garage and I see six tippies up there makes me smile you know it is what it is um what I what I love is uh is that we still have a great subscriber base we've lost some people we're below 700 I'm moving in the wrong direction uh you know look maybe I'll do I'm gonna want to do more interviews I got to get a new laptop all of my MacBook airs have broken so I need a new one um yeah well you know what them the breaks them the breaks when you do it live the tech can't go down like if if any of us won you know not just like pinball but like there's Awards in my industry like the the emphasis on Awards is always funny you know what matters in life money if you're good at something find a way to get paid for it make some money all right make some money if you put in the time the effort you make the content you you entertain like I'm not like no one's getting rich but just make a buck or two the amount of effort we put into this and look the people who donate And subscribe they feel good they're kicking a little coin to their favorite content creators it's a good cycle the community is great I love the patreon chat I love the Canada Community um I love that you know the Facebook Community we have it's fun you know people if you're new to pinball and you've just sort of discovered all the the games the manufacturers the content that's out there now congratulations like the prices suck but you have more options than ever before you do and and you know that's good that is good and most almost everybody's you can go find content for free and make up your mind and I and I love that we've got more voices now than ever before there's not as many carries and Canadas out there as I would like uh but who cares who cares uh let's talk about Alice's Adventures in Wonderland I was looking at the game and I was texting Melvin beautiful game sometimes I forget how beautiful it is I know there's not a lot in it I know it doesn't have the greatest layout but man it's a beautiful game it's a beautiful game and there's not enough honesty in the pinball content creator Community n i mean yes and no what you know the thing about honesty is what there's no the these are very subjective takes right and people love pinball and it brings them enjoyment and it's it's an overpriced toy it they're all overpriced you know this so it's like a super expensive toy most of the world is living in pover most of the world the the medium income I think on planet Earth is something like $8,000 right for that's the the if you take everybody on the planet the average amount of money someone has in a year is $88,000 and we are buying $115,000 toys when we already have like a bunch of them in our homes and and we're all very privileged we're all very spoiled and the the hobby is meant to give people s satisfaction right you know you don't it's like weird to be in a hobby where you're like angry about the thing you're in the hobby to appreciate now what I love about Canadas pinball podcast and and how I look at this hobby is I I look at the market of pinball I look at the creativity I look at um the theme integration I look at these a little bit differently than a player who plays a lot who wants to talk about the game play it's which is good there's balance there I can't get access to every single game getting them getting time on them I'm going to get better at it trust me um but I also think for most of us the reason why my show resonates with so many people is this is how the manufacturers treat us when they want our money so you got to remember that that 95% of pinball sales happen before anyone even plays the game so just think about that for a moment that 9 like when it comes to like L and the Collectibles and the nicest version of these games 100% of them usually are sold before anybody even has any time on the machine so that's why canadi pinball podcast is kind of in it with you like we're sharing the same headspace when a game gets announced or revealed you're going to get content in real time here's what my thoughts are my Impressions do I think they nailed it do I think it's worth it do I think this game's going to lose $4,000 in six months all that should be going through your head all that and you know how's the game gonna play cool but you can't play it yet they want my money today but I can't play it yet and they don't care to get the content creators the machines so we can give you an opinion because we don't have enough you know we don't have enough it's not worth it for us so the people they give machines to of course are going to be positive more more on the side of Win Schilling or helping the companies sell the product it's it's you know it is what it is it is what it is now and we look we know there's not transparency and in dealers and distros working hand inand with content creators uh to to create sales likee objects you know not not editorial like content like I'm an editorial like show these these are I'm opinions that are fundamentally I arrive at my opinions not to help the companies sell games not to help my distributor friend who's going to give me a game move some of his units like you know what I'm saying like there there is yes there is absolutely some incentives by others to help sell product that's fine as long as you're transparent about that 100% fine I don't mind it where there isn't really transparency is sometimes you know you'll see the ad for the dealer in front of the content but they're not telling you that I've also been paid for this content in the form of like maybe a you know a machine or a discount or whatever H I'd hate to be a newbie though I'd hate to be a newbie I I think being a newbie now and you can see it on traded hands 15 was a crazy amount nobody like everyone complained about it then and now it's like 35,000 48,000 42 thou like again because the Hobbies turned into like how much money you got you know if you need something you know if these rich guys really want something we'll we'll see how how badly we can separate them from their common sense with delusional prices and we only need to hook one whale and we're good it's not even my people like these are just delusional people delusional people and I'll tell you as someone who's owned a magic girl someone who owns a Guns and Roses someone who owned a Lord of the Rings someone who's owned a Rick and Morty I owned uh tales of the Arabian Knights I think I've had a good I've owned a Batman 66 I've had a good intimate sampling of the best pinball has had to offer I have no pinball machine is worth more than $10,000 I it's just is just how I feel no pinball machine is really worth more than $10,000 we know it we in deep down inside we all know it the collectible side of it is dead it's dead like there's no no one cares anymore like there's no longer that like I got an Le I got like even like Metallica like it they're they're all sliding back down the 13 like it just nobody it's just the the collectible side of pinball was Destro destroyed they overran games they made too many they lied about never making more it's dead to me the only thing that is rare now is going to be these boutiques when they only make one version of a game and they only make 888 Beetle juices or or Dutch pinball only makes like 2,000 back to the Futures that's the only thing left in terms of like you know what's going to like be collectible but you could argue it's not a bad thing right we got rid of the Collectibles the all the collectors are going to get burned and they did like all the dudes that marched in who got bit by The Collector bug during covid and went all in on pinball just got annihilated um all right everybody we've been
