Notable Quotes

  • “These are figurine collectibles. This is not something that you hand your toddler or your child for them to play cars with or anything. These are something that you put on the shelf and look at.”

Cary Hardy @ mid-video — Clarifies target use case and positioning as adult collectibles, not toys

  • “But honestly, I'm a little surprised it's as low as it is for pinball. Typically, I wouldn't be too shocked if this was like $300 to $400 kind of thing because that's just the way things are in pinball.”

Cary Hardy @ pricing discussion — Context on pricing expectations within pinball collector community; suggests these are relatively affordable by pinball standards

  • “I think the 1/12th scale price point is like chef's kiss price range. But if you want the collectible version and you've got the space, then go for the 1/6th scale because these things, like I said, they're heavy duty.”

Cary Hardy @ recommendation section — Hardy's recommendation for value-conscious vs. premium collectors

A frail. It must be Italian. I'm sure you all remember these getting announced back in October, right? Well, now they are shipping. And if you want one or all of them, I will put a link in the video description down below or you can use this QR code to take you to the website. Now, I was sent this entire first series for review purposes. There are two sizes available. This is the 16th scale series. There are two sizes available and these are all the 16th scale, the biggest of the two. Some features are not available on the 112th scale versions due to the complexities of the figurines on a smaller scale, but the 16th scale figurines are limited to only 500. Mine are number five out of 500. The 112 scale figures are not limited. So, first of all, the packaging is very well done. I like how you get art from all of these great games and it kind of gives you hints on what all they can make in the future. Now, just so we're clear, I'm not being paid for this and I do not receive any benefits of this product selling. I'm merely showing you guys what you're going to get with your order and whether or not these things are even worth it. The retail price for this entire series is $1,254. And if you want the entire series on the 112 scale, then you have a much lower price of $480. Now, why the price jump? Well, my guess is one, it's limited, and two, they're Heavy Brewing, and the quality looks to be Papa Duke topnotch. Seriously, these things have some weight to them. The Martian in particular is Papa Duke dang big and you can hear my genuine reaction later in this video. Now, if you don't want the entire series, you can obviously purchase them separately, but you are getting a little bit of a discount if you buy them all. If you were to buy them one at a time, you would be spending $1,380. So, you are looking at knocking off $21 for each one with the series purchase. The first one I'm unboxing is Saline Bagazar, the genie from the game Tales of the Arabian Knights. This sucker is a little over 16 in tall and weighs 6.27 lb. I also discovered that the base has a built-in magnet to properly position the lamp on the correct spot. [music] Heat. Next up, a troll from Medieval Madness. He has a removable axe and is a little over a foot tall, weighing in at 6.29 lb. Now we have Dr. Dude from Dr. Dude. He arrives in three pieces on the one6 scale version, arm and guitar, his head and body. He stands a little over 16 in tall and weighs 3.74 lb. Ring Master Jack from Circus Voltater. This one is also in three pieces. The hat, spoiler alert, the real ring master of the game, and of course, Jack. He stands around 16 in tall and weighs 3.96 lb. The biggest and the heaviest, the Martian. from Attack from Mars. All one giant Heavy Brewing piece. He is 6.61 lb. Jesus. Lastly for series 1 is Captain Bizar from Party Zone. Two pieces, the Propeller Brewing Company for his hat and of course the captain himself. He stands 13 in tall and comes in right at 6 lb. So, we have series 1 out and ready to be purchased and shipped to you. And we have series 2 that has been revealed as of October. But I don't know the release date for that series just yet. Now, if you're asking yourself or you're asking me like Carrie, who is this for? If you're asking that question, then obviously not for you. [laughter] These are for those of us out there that are so enthusiastic about certain pinball machines or maybe all of them and they also happen to collect figurines. There are people out there that do that and this is for them. Maybe you cater to a particular game and you're like, "You know what? I really love medieval madness." Then maybe you want the troll that is up here. Maybe you love Tales of the Arabian Knights and you want the genie sitting on your desk at work or something like that. This is what they're there for. For the enthusiast out there that really love a particular game or you know what, maybe you're a collector and you want them all and you've got a The Place to showcase them. Go for it. I've got to figure out what I'm going to do with all of these for crying out loud. Now, I know that when it comes to the 16th scale, the price is probably up there to a point to where you're like, "Whoa, that's a little pricey." But honestly, I'm a little surprised it's as low as it is for pinball. Typically, I wouldn't be too shocked if this was like $300 to $400 kind of thing because that's just the way things are in pinball. The price just seems to be ridiculous. So, I think the 112th scale price point is like chef's kiss price range. But if you want the collectible version and you've got the space, then go for the six scale because these things, like I said, they're Heavy Brewing duty. They're not just something that you can just toss around. They're not toys. I got to specify that, too. These are figurine collectibles. This is not something that you hand your toddler or your child for them to play cars with or anything. These are something that you put on the shelf and look at. But this thing is massive. They're all massive. Especially the damn Martian. But if it's quality that you're worried about, you you've got nothing to worry about there, guys. This this is this is very good. The packaging, how it comes and everything. I don't really know what the packaging for the 112th scale is. I think The Box Arcade is somewhat similar to this just on a smaller scale type of thing. But I'm sure the quality is just as good as the 16 scale that's behind me. But I could definitely see this being something that's sitting on your work desk or your desk at home or the nightstand if especially if you like a particular game. Definitely ideal or a conversation piece without a doubt somewhere on your coffee table or in the living room or something. But of course, put it in your game room, maybe even next to the game in question. I could also see it as being a gift that you could give somebody that you know loves a particular game. Why not get them something from that game that is collectible? So, my goal in this video was to give you a closer look and a Bob Betor idea of what you're getting for the price point. So, hopefully I accomplished that for you. If I did, let me know in the comments section down below. And I'd like to get your feedback on what you think about these collectible figurines. That's it for now, guys.
