TL;DR

Multimorphic reveals Heist gameplay with innovative crane mechanic and crew-building heist theme on Deadflip.

Summary

Jack Danger (Deadflip) hosts a live gameplay reveal of Multimorphic's new P3 pinball game 'Heist,' streamed from designer Jerry Thompson's home in Round Rock, Texas. The stream showcases the game's mechanical features (including a unique telescoping crane), rule set (six-character crew-building heist theme with multiple modes and multiballs), and code progress (modes and multiballs implemented, wizard mode in development). Thompson explains the game design, answers community questions, and demonstrates gameplay across multiple modes.

Key Claims

  • Heist is Multimorphic's fourth playfield for the P3 multi-game system, following Lexi Lightspeed, Cosmic Kart Racing, and Candle Lagoon

high confidence · Jerry Thompson directly states this during game explanation

  • The crane is a unique mechanical feature that extends halfway down the playfield, moves left and right, up and down, holds the ball, and serves as a target with RGB lighting

high confidence · Jack and Jerry both describe the crane feature; visible in gameplay footage

  • Game code is not complete; wizard mode is in development and currently disabled during this demo

high confidence · Jerry directly states: 'no this is definitely not code complete but it's pretty far along... Wizard mode is in development. It's not fully implemented yet so it's currently disabled'

  • The game features six playable characters (Wheelman, Cat Burglar, Mastermind, Safecracker, Hacker, Demolition Man) with individual modes, plus heists for 2-5 character crew combinations and five multiballs

high confidence · Jerry details character system and mode structure during explanation

  • The P3 platform now includes a third flipper on a separate button, distinct from previous implementations

high confidence · Jerry describes: 'This game, you just saw me flip it, has a third flipper, which is brand new for the Multimorphic P3. It's actually, you can see me holding the ball on the right flipper now. The upper flipper is on a completely separate button'

  • Heist was planned to debut at Texas Pinball Festival but was moved to home streaming due to supply chain issues and current situation (implied COVID-19)

high confidence · Jerry: 'We had huge plans to debut this at the Texas Pinball Festival... we had tons of supply chain issues we had to work through'

  • The game is designed in a 1990s aesthetic with all references based on that era

high confidence · Jerry responds to direct question: 'The game is based in the 90s. All of the references are based in the 90s.'

Notable Quotes

  • “The crane just came out for a bash. I hit him, and he opened up the jail cell in the middle of the playfield for a side job.”

Jerry Thompson@ 17:47 — Demonstrates mechanical integration of crane with gameplay objectives

  • “If I drain in the middle of a mode, your guy gets arrested. And when he's arrested, he's in jail, you have to do some things to get him out of jail so you can move him later.”

Jerry Thompson@ 18:08 — Explains core rule mechanic: character jailing system as consequence

  • “Cat Burglar is probably the most interestingly coded mode because it integrates the crane in a neat way to do the whole Mission Impossible style thing.”

Jerry Thompson@ 29:15 — Designer perspective on standout mode design; highlights crane integration

  • “no this is definitely not code complete but it's pretty far along we have all the modes implemented we have a lot of multi balls implemented we have side jobs implemented”

Jerry Thompson@ 23:14 — Status update on code development; establishes this is a work-in-progress demo

  • “The back box display is set up for people watching, people standing around watching the machine at an arcade or a tournament. They will be able to see what's going on without having to walk up and look over your shoulder to see the play field.”

Jerry Thompson@ 34:15 — Design philosophy emphasizing spectator experience and tournament viability

  • “The playfield is fully interactive. So the ball, as it's rolling around the playfield surface, software knows exactly where the ball is, and it can have the ball interact with graphics and targets, and potentially moving targets on the screen.”

what's up bingo podcast what's up toyota boy how's everyone doing thanks for thanks for coming in early i appreciate you I'm just putting on my cool guy jacket. I forgot to pay for parking. man the crappy thing about parking here in chicago is all other cities are like postponing giving people tickets and stuff, folks. But here in Chicago, our last mayor sold the parking rights to a private company, and, well, we could still get parking tickets. How's everyone doing? You good? Hanging in there? Oh, yeah. This camera needs to come up a little bit. Doing great. Ready for this? Yeah! I also was able to mess with my nice camera here to get an even shallower depth of field, an even better looking picture. Oh, let's go. Not the normal time. You're effing up my world. I know. I'm sorry. With a charity event that we have going on after this, folks, I'm actually going to be streaming until, well, another nine hours. after this. So this will be a nice ramp up into what I got going on for the rest of the day. So I hope you guys are ready for nine hours of pinball. We can see you a little too well. So tonight's going to be a lot of fun, folks. Screw tonight. Right now is going to be a lot of fun. So in about 12 minutes, I'm going to be switching over to Jerry from Multimorphic, who's actually in his house with his brand new game, Heist. He decked out his whole streaming area. I did my best to relay some information. A few things to note before you all just start screaming and crying. Okay? You might hear a little bit of an echo, right? Welcome aboard. And just know that Jerry is, you know, he's not a professional streamer, but he did a damn good job with what he had. So kudos to that. I can't wait to have him show off everything that's going on. Bell Mix, thank you for the two years in a row. Jerry can hear us, by the way. I can't hear him. But the way this is going to work, MyFTV, thank you for the entire year. Folks, flippers and butts up. Let's go. When we switch over to Jerry and his stream, there's going to be a little bit of a delay, a few seconds. I'm going to turn my mic off, and then what you're going to hear is my voice in Jerry's room. Okay? I'm going to do my best not to talk too much. He's going to have someone reading chat for him in the room with him, so he's going to be answering any questions you may have. So if you have questions for Jerry, just maybe put a big Q in front of your question or something. I don't know. Just something to signify that you have something important you want to ask him instead of just spouting off stupid nonsense. Um, this is going to be a lot of fun. The game looks insane. I just saw the crane function for the first time and I thought it just kind of came out. That thing extended halfway down the fricking play field. It was insane. Happy anniversary, sweetie. Aw, thank you. Welcome aboard, kid. Yo, Gray, thank you for 10 months in a row. Love to see you any time of the day. Boom. Telescoping. Thank you, Toyota boy. That's the word. First time catching a live. What's up? hey we're stinking early and on a saturday so this never happens never ever maybe we should stream on the weekends should i trade one of my normal your cam seems sexier today i spent some time making it sexier i spent okay let me rephrase that i spent the last two hours making it sexy um i was informed by a friend of mine he's like that's a nice uh camera you got there and a nice lens and your picture quality is nothing compared to what you can get out of it so uh he helped me fine-tune a few things and it is like the the depth of field going on bro look at this look at that look at that two hours laura must be happy laura's going to be even more excited that i'm going to be streaming for another nine hours uh we're going to be working with twitch with the big charity thing that they're doing right now. But right now, it's all about Multimorphic and their brand new fantastic World Under Glass heist game that they just developed. Jerry's going to be doing everything he can to answer any questions you have. He does have someone helping him out to read questions because my voice is kind of delayed. So, we'll see what happens. I'm ready to donate my butts lit I love the baseball furies cosplay where's my bat warriors come out and play I can't ever stop wearing this on my face now Tested gave me a shout out so now and this is why they gave me a shout out so I have to wear it forever okay so in about eight minutes we're going to cut back over to to jerry and he's going to give us a rundown uh we're going to have him sort of go over everything uh we slotted him for about an hour to play the game explain what's going on and obviously give you any information you need on how to purchase this game. So yeah, it's going to be dope. So I asked about Lexi Lightspeed yesterday, and this is a new game from those guys. Can't wait. Yep, Multimorphic. Cool thing about Multimorphic also is my pinball machine that I built, Jerry makes the P-Rock boards, P3 Rock. It's what the Spooky Games run off of. It's what we used to build our pinball machine. It's what a lot of homebrewers are using to make their games. and he graciously donated those so that we could make this and he's going to have a humongous section on the uh the how-to which uh is close to being finished um but definitely if you're looking to build a homebrew pinball machine you gotta you gotta use those boards i mean just just do it dummy multimorphic makes the games with a screen for a playfield yeah yep not the entire play field, it's like, uh, three, four, three force, maybe just shorter than that. If you're streaming on 10, you're going to miss the twippies. Uh, it's for charity. So I, you know, it's, what are you going to do? You know, it's for charity. Looking good, Jack. Thank you, Miko. I love you, buddy. Um, the stuff that I just did to this camera and this camera itself, I need to put into that document that you shared, uh, Miko. And thank you for sharing that by the way. I had to go back through it really quick to make sure I didn't say anything too stupid. There was a photo of me shirtless at the bottom that I had to get rid of. I'll accept your twippies. Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. How many games do you own? I only own like one and a half pinball machines, but there's almost 30 in this room that are given to me to show off to the world. And they cycle through, you know, different manufacturers lend me stuff. Canada predicted you for Twippy best streamer. I mean, I could have predicted that. I'm joking. Internet complete. Now I'm going to lose it. Now I'm going to lose. Now I don't get it. That's fine. And now I don't get it. Woof indeed. What's up, Flippin? Good to see you. Wow. Wow. that cocky guy that's me what's up ron paul yo chris pin turn good luck tonight jack hope ice is fun too looks great chris the pin turn thank you so much buddy uh i i was really hoping to like give you a big hug at tpf but i'll give you a nice virtual one right now i love you a weekend stream yep all right folks t minus five minutes before we cut over to Jerry in his luxurious home in, where is he, Austin? I think he's in Austin. He has a house in Austin, or an apartment. I don't know, actually, I don't know where he lives. It might be just a cool box somewhere that he lives in. I don't know. It looked cool. The face camera had some cool banners behind it. You'll see it when we cut over to it. He's listening to this probably going, Jack, shut the frick up, dude. thank you fun game yo buffalo atx what's up it's called heads up yes they made that one as well yeah are you streaming heist all the way until 10 no uh we've slotted jerry for oh hey camera uh from one to two central time and then i got a bunch of charity stuff that i'm gonna dip over and start doing so uh if you're here you're here for the long haul and thank you for being here i I just wanted to start it off early so we had a good sizable audience. If you could all do me a favor and share on all the social medias that we're about to show Heist off, that would be awesome. The charity is for the World Health Organization's COVID-19 response relief and stuff like that. We've already raised in the first hour like $2 million. And John Legend was just playing. And then like all these big musicians are playing as well. It's pretty dope. Just hanging out on the couch trying to figure out why OBS and Zoom hate. Yeah. The best thing you can do, BuffaloATX, is try different versions. Just keep trying different versions. Uninstalling, new version. Uninstalling, new version. Not OBS, but the plug-in. All right. Three minutes, folks, until the grand reveal of the gameplay from the man himself, Jerry at Multimorphic. It's going to be fantastic. Um, yeah, go tweet it, go Facebook it, go make a tick talk about it here. I'll give you, here's a new tick tock dance. Boomer juice, dab, dab. All right. Make that a thing and, uh, we'll get it going. Thank you. Whoa. I did it. I will be muting my mic when we switch over to Jerry. because you'll hear me through his broadcast. Spicy Taco, what's up, buddy? Can you do commentary? No, there's a bit of a delay. Hold on. Are you going to be featured on today's Twitch charity stream? I believe so, yes. Bulbous Rubz. I'm drinking a very delicious Monster Energy drink. no hashtag ad uh pinfomniac it's um getting welcome aboard this specific plug-in to work with zoom is a nightmare for absolutely every single person we talk to wash your hands you touched your face twice welcome aboard kid zoom hates my virtual cam yes it does all right well we're gonna switch over to jerry ladies and gentlemen thank you all for being here i hope you love what you see. I'm super excited to get to play it. Without further ado, Jerry from Multimorphic with his brand new game, Heist. With his brand new game, Heist. Thank you, Jack. So here we are in my home in Round Rock, Texas trying... What's up, buddy? We're going to stream our brand new game, Heist, which is a new game for the P3 Pinball platform. It's something we've been working on for a long time. We've had huge plans to debut this at the Texas Pinball Festival. And as you know, things have changed a little bit. So Jack was going to come to Austin. He was going to hang out with us for a bit. He was going to stream out of our factory. And obviously, we can't do that given the current situation. So please, everybody stay safe. We're doing the same. All of our employees are working from home. We're home here. We're in my home. I'm here with my girlfriend, Sarah. She's going to be reading questions off to me. So please make sure you throw them in the chat. Big thanks to Jack. He's made his platform available to us. He's helping us out. He was going to, like I said, come to Austin and stream for us. But since we can't do that, he's allowing us to stream through his channel. And that's great. Thank you, Jack. Sincerely appreciate it. So let's talk a little bit about the game. But before I do, like I said, we had huge plans to debut this at Texas Pinball Festival. We worked really hard to get the game ready. We had tons of supply chain issues we had to work through. I wanted to give a shout out to Eric Smith, to Brad Baker, to Greg Butcher for all trying to help us through some supply chain issues. A big thanks to Mark and Ray and Austin for giving us this rig so we could stream it. And thanks to everyone for their support and their help. All right, so we have a few different cameras set up. We have the main camera looking down at the play field. We have another one looking at the front view of the play field. And the reason we're doing that is because this game has a mechanical feature that is really awesome, but it's really hard to see completely from the top. It's this big crane you see angled all the way from the back center to the right. And that moves around. It moves left and right. It moves up and down. It even extends down the play field. What I wanted to do was get this front camera set up so that you could see kind of the height of it as it moves around the screen and as it holds onto the ball. which it does it holds onto the ball it's also a target it has an rgb light on the front of it it's super cool all right so this game is called heist the theme of it is a heist just like a traditional you know oceans 11 type movie the idea if you haven't seen the intro videos online take a look at them they're also built into the game but i've got them disabled so we can just go right into gameplay take a look at our website multimorphic.com check out the product page You can see the full introduction video. You can see all the characters on the main screen right now. These are the good guys. They're fighting the bad guy. The bad guy is Mr. Big. He owns the city. The city is represented in the play field. We have buildings all across the play field starting from the left going all the way to the back. There's a casino, a parking garage, an Ocean County Police Department. We have Bigelow Galleries, the bank, Savings and Loan. All these things are 3D lit. you can't really see the lights perfectly from the top, so hopefully you can see them more from the front view. But that's pretty much what we're doing. A heist theme, and I'm just going to jump right into gameplay, and then we can talk through rules and we can answer any questions. So here we go. Hopefully the volumes are leveled. I've got two mics. I've got the headset on so you can hopefully hear me over top of the game music. This game, you just saw me flip it, has a third flipper, which is brand new for the P3 platform. It's actually, you can see me holding the ball on the right flipper now. The upper flipper is on a completely separate button, which might take a little while for some of you to get used to, but once you get used to it, it's so much better than having a third flipper on the same button. So I can flip that with the other flipper button. There's also, if you look down from the overhead view, you can see a blinking, It's a donut icon right below the right flipper. Those move around, or that moves around, just like a lane change icon, as I hit the secondary buttons. So if I hit it on the left side, it'll rotate to the left. You see the left flipper is not moving, because that lane change is on a completely separate button. In this game, you want the ball to roll over the blinking icon. You want to collect donuts. Donuts. I'll explain a little more about what they mean as we progress through. So there's six characters. I'm trying to collect all of them so we can run the main jobs. I collect them by hitting the shot a few times to qualify the character and then starting a mode. The crane just came out for a bash. I hit him, and he opened up the jail cell in the middle of the playfield for a side job. But at the same time, I started a mode. So the side job will have to wait. And I drain in the mode. So in this game, you start a character mode. If you drain in the middle of a mode, your guy gets arrested. And when he's arrested, he's in jail, you have to do some things to get him out of jail so you can move him later. Use him later. All right. The skill shot for this game, when I hit the launch button, the ball will come out the right side up here. the skill shot is to hit the upper flipper and get the ball to go around the side loop. Just like that. Hit the left ramp with the side flipper. Another unique feature on this is combos. This game has very flowy ramps and loops, and it does count up combo shots, but the way you collect the combo is you have to hit a side loop shot. So I could get two, three, four combos staged up by hitting ramps and loops, and then I don't collect them until I hit a side loop shot. Sorry? is the screen is not 4k so 1080p full high definition display 10 or a 4k display would require a lot more processing power and you wouldn't get a lot of gain out of it so we're sticking with high def for now armored car is coming across the screen that is a way to collect a lot of cash quickly cash in this game is something you want to collect and you use that later in the game Alright, so I've got Cat Burglar qualified. I need to hit her shot one more time to start the mode. I've got locks lit near the jail and now we're starting the cat burglar mode. Got to hit each of the shots that are lit with arrows. The crane is also out holding onto the ball. That's representing the cat burglar dangling from the ceiling and trying to collect the parts. Two more to go. Still two more to go. The ramps are backhandable. I nailed it. Now it raised a scoop for what we call the MacGuffin. I have to hit the ball off the crane to get CatBugler away, and I also have to try to hit the scoop. And I missed them both, and I drained. I will be draining this mode. No, it does not end the ball because it just dropped the ball off the crane. All right, so now I don't know how well you can see it. You can see it better in the... Actually, let me shoot for the armored car real quick. Don't miss. All right, so the backbox display is a direct feed into the streaming right now, so you can see everything I would see on the backbox display. If you look at the two characters on the left, you'll see Wheelman and Cat Burglar both have bars in front of their faces. That's because they're both in jail. As I shoot those shots, the wheel man and cat burger shots, it will start to break them out of jail. So each time I hit that shot, it breaks away one of the jail bars, and I get that much closer to breaking them out of jail. Right now I have two police locks lit on the inner loop. I have a side job lit in the jail, and I still have yet to qualify and play demolition man and hacker. I just shot the jail to start a side job. My jobs are little single objective things that happen very quickly. That one was literally just having me shoot the ball into an open scoop, and that automatically qualified the hacker for me. So I'll start her mode now. Hacker, we have to break the password and then download a file. do that hitting the spinner is how we break the password just spinner on the inner loop on the inner orbit shuttle which I cannot seem to hit okay so I drained but same time I collected a sixth donut which gave me a bonus multiplier so my bonus in this ball is multiplied by two is this considered code complete no this is definitely not code complete but it's pretty far along we have all the modes implemented we have a lot of multi balls implemented we have side jobs implemented I think we have one more side job to We currently have the wizard mode is in development. It's not fully implemented yet so it's currently disabled but I don't know if any of us while playing have gotten to wizard mode yet. But basically the idea is you collect all the characters, you run your basic jobs to get them experience to build the crew and then once you have an entire crew and everybody's out of jail then you'll be able to run the big heist on Mr. Big. Okay, let's see if I can start a jailbreak. I do that by bashing the jail cell a couple times. The door is now closed. Now it's lit, and there we go. Jailbreak multiple. There are three characters in jail, so there's four balls. Three characters plus the one ball I had in play. My goal is to hit the correct shot to break that character. And I did very poorly. Let's see. All right. I just shot one shot to get Cat Burglar out of jail, and I drained the other two balls. The Cat Burglar ball that I shot correctly to get her out of jail got swallowed by the machine. I'm back down to one ball, and multiball's over. What era is the game designed in? Say again? What era is the game designed in? The game is based in the 90s. All of the references are based in the 90s. The game, I should say, was designed by a team of people, or built by a team of people. It was led by creative director Stephen Silver. And here comes a police car across the screen to try to surprise me and put a character in jail. We have a team of three software guys working on this. They're actually located all over the world. BJ's in New Zealand, we have Greg Goldey in Colorado, and Thomas Law who's in Washington. TJ Weaver and Les Pitt did all the mechanical work on the game. And I just sat around and watched him do nothing. Okay, so every mode you'll see on the main LCD screen is telling me what to shoot. So there's three lit arrows, I'm trying to shoot those three shots in this mode to set the explosives. because this is the demolition mode. Okay, so two. If I can backhand him a little bit. Now I have to hit the pop bumpers on the outer loop to set off the explosive. I think I need ten hits. Ten pop hits to complete the mode. I only have two seconds, so it's unlikely I'm going to get that. And I did not. Demolition Man is also in jail. Cat Burglar, since I broke her out of jail, is available. All right, so an introduction to Heist. Now let me stop for a second and explain more about the game. So each character, as you can see in this main view, is kind of associated with a shot lane. We have Wheelman on the left, Cat Burglar, the Mastermind, Safecracker, the Hacker, and the Demolition Man. They're all associated with a part of the play field. So I qualify each of those by shooting, for example, Wheelman, I would shoot the left shot twice, would qualify his mode, and I shoot it a third time to start his mode. If I complete the mode, he's on the team. If I don't complete the mode, he goes to jail. Then I'd have to break him out of jail to get him on the team. So each character has their own mode. mastermind this one on the inner side of the left orbit there's a left orbit there's an orbit in the center center orbit and it goes around like this there's a jail cell in the middle if I shoot the left side of the that inner orbit that's the mastermind shot but she isn't available until you have at least two characters that are qualified for the crew so if I collect two characters say I get wheel man and cap burglar that's two characters that will be available for what we call a heist, a mini heist. If I have three characters we can do a three-person heist. If I have four characters we can do a four-person heist and five would be a five-person heist. Each one of those heists are different. So there's the five main character modes and then there are four different heists we can have available which makes nine basic character modes. Then there's I think five multiballs, four that were described on This Week in Pinball and the pinball news articles and an additional one associated with the mastermind anything else I can answer about the characters right now okay so every mode if you complete the character mode you get a chance to win or chance to collect a MacGuffin the MacGuffin will help you in the wizard mode so if If you complete a mode, you're qualified for the crew. If you collect the MacGuffin, then when you get to the wizard mode, you'll have advantages for that character in the wizard mode. So when you get to the safecracker, yes, if you complete the mode and collect the MacGuffin, you get this prize that helps you out in wizard mode. And the same is true for all of the characters. So you'll see when I play a mode, if I complete all the objectives for that mode, it'll lift up the character's scoop. So the yellow scoop would come up for Wheelman or the red one for Hacker. and it allows me, I think it's a 10 second hurry up to shoot that scoop to collect the MacGuffin for that character. Who is your favorite character? Who is my favorite character? I like the modes. Cat Burglar is probably the most interestingly coded mode because it integrates the crane in a neat way to do the whole Mission Impossible style thing. it's a multi-stage mode where you have to shoot shots to collect the parts and then you have to do an escape multiball so that's probably the most intricate mode i don't really have a favorite they're all kind of cool but they all do different things in the play field so it's fun to kind of play play through all the different modes if your girlfriend was a character if my girlfriend sarah who's sitting next to me reading the questions to me were a character who would she be? I'll talk to her about that later. Alright, let me play again. Why is the bald character the bad guy? The bald character? Because even though we're good people in life, we have secret evil tendencies. So you'll notice, or you might not notice, but every time I hit a ramp I'm usually hitting the white button on the side of the flippers to move the move the donut back and forth so left side Right side left side right side so that I can try to collect that donut yet every time I hit a ramp shot Okay, Karina's coming out for a little side job hurry up I hit it now I can hit the jail cell to start a side job This is completely random. There are, I think, four side jobs in there right now. This is the same one we saw before. We'll see some more soon. Oops. Fumbled on that one, and it's super quick, so it already dropped the scoop. I didn't have a chance to let the ball get down to the main flippers and shoot it up there. Alright, here we go with Hacker again. Shoot the spinner to break the password and then it'll enable four other shots to complete the download. Alright, one shot we got the password. Let's see if I can get all the download shots. six donuts gave me the bonus multiplier one more shot for this all right completed the mode got the mcguffin and now she's fully qualified for wizard mode say again I think you said, will this game support co-op? Will this game be co-opted? So all games for the P3 have access to the same code library that enables co-op play and team play and all those things. It's called a profile system. And we will be adding the profile system. We will be tying it into this game, though it's not done yet. Lease are coming. Lease are coming. If I shot it right now, they would arrest my character. I don't want to do that. There's a P3 pass from the left flipper to the right flipper and shot the cat. Okay, so hopefully you're able to see from the front camera. I know the lighting's not great. you can see the depth of the grain. Right now it's holding a ball, and that ball that it's holding is higher than I can hit it, so it's three or four balls, ball heights above the plate that I can't currently hit it. But after I collect this next shot, if I didn't drain... And since I drained during that play, it kills the flippers, it ends the mode, and it sends me to jail. Okay, so in all P3 games, we put the scoreboard in the bottom of the main LCD. So if you're playing the game, you can see exactly the information you need to progress through the game by looking where you're looking throughout the game, which is at the flippers. So I can tell I don't have any police locks qualified. I have nine donuts collected. I am $35 to $500 for crane multiball in Player 1, Balls 2 and 3 in the score. All this information is duplicated on the backbox display, so you can all see the exact same information on the top camera up there. That's a direct view to the backbox display. It's laid out a little bit differently to give you an idea of what's going on at a quick glance. The backbox display is set up for people watching, people standing around watching the machine at an arcade or a tournament. They will be able to see what's going on without having to walk up and look over your shoulder to see the play field. Let's see. There's also an apron magnet. So in our game, because it's a multi-game system, which I didn't explain, but hopefully most of you know that, the P3 is a multi-game system. The back portion of the play field is a physical module. You can lift that whole module out of the machine, and you can change it up. So our first game was Lexi Lightspeed. It had a completely different back play field. Then we came out with Cosmic Kart Racing and Candle Lagoon, and this is our fourth play field called Heist. The side art on the machines are magnets, so you can completely change out your side art. And the apron display, or the apron artwork, is also a magnet, so we could pull this off and stick on a different one. This one is set up just for the Heist game. It's got your rule objectives here, describing your multi-balls and your main objectives. I don't know if you've seen it yet, but the play field is fully interactive. So the ball, as it's rolling around the play field surface, software knows exactly where the ball is, and it can have the ball interact with graphics and targets, and potentially moving targets on the screen. So I think this game has a slight ball trail. I know Lexi Lightspeed, we have a very obvious ball trail that follows the ball around. This game has a little bit of dust trail behind the ball. but also in this game if we hit there's three targets there's one right here stand up targets that are green and they are labeled atm so if we hit an atm target it will basically release cash and that cash will flutter down the lcd the cash will be fluttering down here and if i roll over the cash with the ball i collect it as i collect the cash i increment my pointing to the apron display you can see it on the backbox the cache progression towards crane multiball once you get enough cash you battle mr. big in the crane okay so the side targets right now I have well there's eight side targets this guy I've already hit I've hit the top two here and the lower two here have crates in front of them if I collect those last couple of crates that's what tells the crane to come out for a quick bash to enable a side job. Okay yeah let me go through this a little more and then we'll change out a game. If you're good at it it takes literally 30 seconds. If you're a little slower it takes I don't know a minute or two minutes. The longest part of it is actually pulling the glass out and storing the lock bar just so it's out of your way and what you do is you slide out the glass you lift up this entire play field and pull it out kind of like a traditional play field to put it in service position and then there's a latch here on the side there's a latch here on the side and then there's four connectors in the back panel of the machine you just connect those and then literally you just lift the play field vertically out of the machine set it aside drop another one in reconnect it put the glass back on power up the machine again and the software detects the presence of the new play field and enables the software that works with that play field. Okay, I have a ball save, which is labeled right here. It's got a countdown timer on it, and I still have four seconds of ball save. It's also unique about the configuration I have here. Let me get this side job guy real quick. Well, I shouldn't have done that because I drained it. The P3 is very configurable. Pretty much everything in the play field slides out of the front of the machine. I have the flipper assembly, which if I lifted the play field into service position, I could slide it straight out of the machine to repair it or to, if I needed to, I don't know, change out a coil or a sleeve or a stop or whatever, I could just pull it out of the machine, take it to my workbench and deal with it there instead of hunching over the machine with a lot of tools or soldering irons or whatever. The side targets behind it will slide out of the machine. the entire LCD play field will literally just slide out of the front of the machine everything's modular as part of the modularity and because we have this floating flipper system there's a hole right in the center of the flipper assembly for a center post so this game has the center post installed I did that for the stream just because the ball can take some weird bounces off the crane and I wanted to get some more action on the stream. But this post that I've installed in the flipper assembly, it literally takes 10 seconds to take it off or put it back on. The outlanes are fully configurable. There's an arm here that you can swing in or out to close down or open down the outlane. There's also on the in-lane, out-lane divider here at the top of it, I don't think you can see it real well on the cameras, but there are three holes, three vertical holes for post positions So you can raise the post to the top position or you can have it all the way to the bottom position to increase or decrease the difficulty of your game So basically you should be able to set it up for beginners or you can have it set up for experts. If you have young kids and you want them to enjoy the game, similar to, I guess, bowling, where you can put those big barriers in front of the gutters, you can rotate this swiveling arm all the way out to block off the outling completely if you wanted to. so somebody playing would only have the opportunity to drain in the center. Alright. Alright, I got side job lit. I've got a couple characters who are not yet qualified, and I've got Cat Burglar in jail. This is just a bash the crane side job. And I completely missed everything. So again, the side jobs, you don't have to do any side jobs to progress in the game. But the side jobs, if you complete them, they instantly qualify your character. All right, here we go again. The goal is to collect a couple characters so you can see the mastermind mode. And maybe to collect enough cash so you can see the create multiball mode. We've been tweaking the cash, it's all settings, but we can tweak the amount of cash you collect per ATM hit to make it easier or harder to get to some of the multiball modes. should probably have Sarah play so that you can see how you actually play the game she laughed hit the crane the planet again. And it randomly picks a scoop. It could be the red one. It could go all the way down to be the yellow one. This one's about halfway. And I missed again. okay CapBurglar is qualified demolition man and hacker both have one shot you can cancel the mode interest with the flippers which I just did since you've seen them a few times I can't believe it. All right. Take the outer orbits to get it to the pop bumper. and hope we get some action on the pop bumper and we did not. All right, we completed Demoman. Scoot comes up, pass it, and get the scoop shot. Okay, we got hacker mode started. Thank you, center post. That is not the shot I want. That is not either. I just collected a police ride by getting 12 donuts. Okay. Completed Hacker. I completed Demoman. Now... Now it's telling me there's a heist available on the Mastermind shot. He is now blinking, so I can qualify her. And hopefully start a mini-heist. And don't get arrested. by the surprise cops. Okay, so this is a two-character heist. This is kind of an interesting mode. I've got one ball in play, and it's telling me to shoot one of these two shots, or both of them. They're each labeled with the number two, which means I've got to hit them both twice to basically collect that character or to complete that character's objectives in the mode. I need to hurry up and do this. Or I could just drain. So if I were to shoot the character shot twice, it would put another ball in the play field, so then I'd have two balls in play. Then I'd have to shoot the third character, or the other character shot, I'd have three balls in play. If I completed all the character shots, got all three balls in play, and didn't drain, it would raise the MacGuffin, so I could collect the Mastermind. It would raise the scoop, so I could collect the Mastermind award, which in this case is a jewel. Okay. Try again. Any questions? So the more characters in a heist, the more objectives to complete for a successful heist. That's right. So basically there's four additional modes called heists. If you have two characters, you play a two-character heist. If you have four qualified or five qualified characters, you can play a five-character heist. I guess that's five. Five different heists. So each heist, if you play the two-character heist and get the jewel, then the two-character heist is no longer available. If you don't get the jewel, then you can keep playing the two-character heist. If you collect the third character, then when you shoot Mastermind, you'll be able to play the three-character heist. If you then have a guy go to jail for whatever reason, you shoot a police patrol or I guess that's the only reason a character could get jailed, then you're back to a two-player or two-character heist. So then you break the guy out of jail, you have three characters again, you collect another character or two, you get four or five character heists. Can you see the intro video? I'm not sure, maybe. I have it disabled. Let me see if I can find it in settings real quick. I have to move this camera back a little bit to open up a coin door. Let's see. Is that in gameplay? Okay. Anyone on chat knows where that intro video enable is? Tell me. Enable game intro. There we go. Let's see if that does it. How are the barrier targets used? What mini games incorporate all barriers so another PF isn't needed? Okay, I'll explain that in a bit. Let me run the game intro. Okay, so if you have this game on location or whatever, you would keep that intro enabled and it would play for everyone who hits the start button, except if you're in a multiplayer game, of course. You can fully cancel that video, so if it's playing and you hit the flipper buttons, it will stop and you can start the game immediately. There was a question about minigames or modes with the scoops. So we talked about the upper playfield modules that there are for the P3. There's currently four of them. So there's four main games, Lexi Lightspeed, Cosmic Kart Racing, Cannon Lagoon, and now Heist. There are also a lot of software-only games, or only is the wrong word. There are a lot of software add-on games that will work with one or more of the existing playfields. So there's mini games like we call it mini games because they're software add-ons. There's Rocks, there's Barnyard, there's Lexi Lightspeed Secret Agent Showdown. We've done the two-player heads-up game. And we have Hooping It Up that Greg Goldey wrote and distributed for free. And there's more in development like Nicholas Baldridge's P3 Quest for Glory game, which you can read all about on Pinside. So some of those games use the wall and scoops and some of them don't. The game light rocks, which is essentially the video game Asteroids, but implemented in physical form, where you use the physical pinball rolling around the screen to blow up asteroids. We lift up all of the walls and scoops, and that keeps the ball from going to the upper play field. So it just keeps it kind of centered on the LCD screen. Other games, like Barnyard, we don't use those, so the physical pinball can interact with things on the upper play field. There are a lot of games in development. We have more ideas for our own mini-games. There are lots of people downloading our development kit, which is completely free and open. If you have ideas or have the desire to build a game for the P3, you can do that. You can write software-only games, or you can build your own upper playfield modules, or you can write games that work with existing upper playfield modules. That's totally free. You write it. If you want to sell it, then we talk about getting it on our store. You can set the price and sell it through our store. We'll host it for you. But essentially, this platform is similar to pick your favorite video game console of Nintendo, where the manufacturer of the console, in this case, the manufacturer of the P3, which is us, we design the console and we create some of our own games for it. And then we make the platform open so that other people can develop additional content for it. So essentially, if you buy the P3, you have this machine in your home. You only ever need to take up that one spot in your house, and you can continually build up your game library by adding new playfields and adding minigame content. The P3 itself is obviously the most expensive part of the system. For $99.95, you get one machine with a game. So we're currently offering a promotion where you get the P3 with the Heist playfield with a free backbox display. The backbox display, pointing at the monitor that you can't see because it's on the monitor, is normally an $8.99 upgrade. It adds all the dynamic content to the backbox, and it's actually custom content. We are running very different content down here than we're running up on the backbox display. But for that $99.95 right now, we're calling it a Heist special. You get that backbox display for free. You get the upper flipper kit for the heist game for free. And we'll fully ship you that P3 with heist installed. We also have a special running now where it's the entire system, the P3, plus all four playfields that are available for it. Lexi, Cosmic Kart Racing, Cannon Lagoon, and heist. As well as every mini game we're currently offering. And you get all that together. I believe the price is $15,995. That's a short-term special. It runs until April 19th, I believe, maybe 17th, April 17th. And, yeah, so not crazy expensive for a four-physical pinball game plus a bunch of mini games for a one-time special price. You can also go to our website, check out the P3 page, product page, where it describes all of the bundles we have. You can buy the machine with two games, with three games, or the full specials. What? Sarah's telling me to play. Play the game. Stop selling the game and trying to make your company money and just show us the cool stuff. Okay. Alright, so I'll just... Four or five ramp shots in a row, collected a bunch of donuts, qualified two characters... Started cat murder. And the drain. Drain before the first phase ended, so my ball is over. I'm going to focus right now trying to click cast so I can start to create multiball. There are some targets that I have to hit. And theoretically run over those cash targets to collect the money. I'm up to $271. I need $500. cannot collect cash when you're in a mode more about rules what would you like to know I'm in the hacker mode right now and I already completed the password. I'm shooting the floor lit shots to complete the download. One more shot. Missed. Missed. Center post, thank you. Are you done yet? Yes, I am done yet. Okay, now the scoop is up for the MacGuffin. Armored car is coming out. Armored car is a way to get quick cash, and I missed it again. I have $446. I now have $571. you'll see on the right ramp shot, it is lit for crane multiball. So let me start that. All right, let me try really hard to hit it and not dream. All right, crane multiball. Crane multiball starts with the ball on the crane. you can see in the front camera, this one right here, that the ball is hittable. So just like missed multiball in Dracula, I had to hit the ball off the magnet to start the multiball. Now if you watch the crane, you'll see Mr. Big is controlling it, and he's taking balls and he's throwing them at me. And if I hit the crane a certain number of times, it'll defeat the crane and stop it from throwing balls I trained every ball at the same time so I must have been one in that battle so there's crane multiball there's jailbreak multiball when you have characters in jail now if I shoot the jail a few times to bash that it'll open I can start jailbreak multiball there's police multiball which I haven't started yet because I mostly shoot the outer loops and ramps. Police multiball, the two blue blinking targets here, those are for lighting lock. So I have to lock two balls in there and start, or light it a third time to start what's called police multiball. Then there's the cat burglar escape multiball, and then there's a heist multiball if you complete the heist objectives, which is a fifth multiball, and then if you get to the wizard mode. When we have that enabled, you'll be able to start a sixth multiball. Does the police car and armored car come out at random or are they based on objectives? Yes, the police car that randomly comes out, it opens up the scoops to get you. I think it only comes out after you have a character qualified because if you don't, then there's nobody to arrest. Cancel the intro. The armored car also will come out at random times. I think it comes around a little slower than the police patrols. But yes, it gives you a little bit of a warning. I think there's a voice call out and some blinking red and blue lights to tell you it's coming. But if you're not paying attention and you have a guy available and it comes out, you accidentally shoot the scoop because usually shooting the scoop is a good thing. Then it will send your character to jail. There is not currently a dominant strategy, and if anyone finds one, we'll fix it. We spent quite a bit of time bouncing the scores recently, but there's always a potential we miss something. But yeah, our goal was to make this a game that there's no single dominant strategy, and if there is one, we'd like to change that. All right Wheelman is joining I appreciate you guys all coming to watch the stream I got about 15 more minutes and we'll get a little bit more gameplay in, and make sure you get your questions in so we can answer them too. So every time I shoot a ramp shot, I am hitting the white button to get the donut to go to the other inland, but I collected donut on its side. All right, so I just completed Will-Man, got the MacGuffin. Now I have Demolition Man is ready. So we'll start him. That was quick. Alright, Demoman is in jail, Whaleman is fully qualified. If I get at least one more character, I can start a heist. Or if I break Demoman out of jail. And again, as a reminder, that upper flipper, which is new to the platform, is on a completely separate button. So while I'm holding the ball in the right flipper, I can also... So in a multiball situation, you can continue to hold balls. so you don't have to try to push the button halfway in to stage the upper flipper. It's on a completely separate button. It might take a little while to get used to, but once you get it, you will like it a lot more. Post. Let me get this crane side job. Crane cabool again. This is just bash the crane. It's going to come out. I think I get 15 seconds to hit the crane and collect some points. And also to risk draining. How is the ball recognition on the football screen realized? How is it what? Realized. How does it work? We have an array of infrared transmitters and receivers on the sides of the screen that basically detect when the ball is rolling anywhere. There's 24 sets of receivers and transmitters all up and down the side of the platform. So when the ball's rolling around, it's breaking a lot of different beams of light, so we can tell exactly where it is. Can you leave the third flipper installed for other games that don't use it? Can you what? Leave the third flipper installed for other games that don't use it. Yeah, good question. So the upper flipper is built into the side target module. Someone's trying to distract me so I don't complete my mode. it's built into the side target module on the right, and it's completely backwards compatible with the old flip, with the old side target module. It's the exact same shape, and it does the exact same function as the other side target modules that are standard in the game. So that once you have this module installed with the flipper, software that doesn't use the flipper simply won't let you flip it. It won't be enabled. Try to grab the ball. So you simply can't flip it. So it'll behave just like it did on any other game with the standard side target module. So basically once you install the side target module, you never need to take it out unless we come out with future modules that do different things. Can you install pin stadiums? Can you install pin stadiums? Yes, you can. Though this particular game, this heist game, has some pretty tall toys in the back. because it's got the whole building cityscape. So I don't know if there's clearance for them or not. But, yes, other people have installed pinsteadings on this before. I don't necessarily think it's – I don't even think it's a good idea because it will wash out the playfield LCD. So the playfield LCD gives you a lot of ambient light, the backlight on it. And the upper playfield, while it looks dark on the stream, it's completely visible. and we actually have a row of lights on the back panel above the playfield that aren't lit in this game because we're trying to portray a dark cityscape, but other games fully light the playfield with those. We call them ceiling lights or above-playfield lights. You see I'm holding the flipper, the bond of flipper, and now the police trap has come by twice. See if I can start a heist again. All right, all three. Let's see if I can get the heist started. All saved. She's ready, let's see if I can get the shot. Yep. It's a two character heist. I've got to hit both character shots in order to basically get more balls to come out on the playfield. All right, I hit the left loop twice, now there's two balls, now I'm going to two ball multiball. I have to hit the right ramp twice, which I didn't do. I drained one of the balls, but I still have the other ball in play, and now I have a timer. It's counting down from five seconds to hit the other one and get it out, which I'm clearly not going to do. Does the system have a ball find? Does it have a ball find? Like a ball search? So every game, yes, has ball search capabilities just programmed in, so if the ball gets lost, it will search for it. Any penalty for holding the flipper for a long time? In this game, there's no penalty for holding the flipper. In our recent update to Cosmic Kart Racing, CCR 2.0, you do have a penalty for holding onto the ball because that's more of a flow-based game. This is more of a strategic game. All right. I want to see if I can... get a different side job I've seen I think a couple of them but I have to hit the crane to get it and I missed maybe I can go for a police multivote we haven't seen yet There are seven different voice actors who contributed to this. Joe Grazoffi, John Swayze, and a whole crew of his professional friends. They've all contributed. They each did different character voices. They all did fantastic work. Alright, collected the armored car, drops a bunch of cash, collect it. And I have crane multiball lit on the right ramp again, let me see if I can do that. The crane could theoretically grab the ball and play, but we don't have its program to do that, and that would be really interesting. Eight voice actors. Stephen Silver is the creative director on this game and he worked with all the voice actors. So he would know better than me. I just wrote the checks so you think I should know. Okay, so there's jackpots on the left and right ramp and there's also the crane that I'm trying to hit to defeat it so that Mr. Big stops swinging balls at me, which I did successfully. So now I just get to collect jackpots. If I hadn't defeated the crane, then every other one of these double jackpots, or single jackpots they would be, the ball would get locked on the ramp, and Mr. Big would throw the ball at me, trying to throw it into the outlet. Here we go, Mr. Big. What's the largest multiple ball in the night? We have some interesting plans for cool additional multiballs in the finale, but currently I believe it is a six-ball multiball, which is a five-character mini-heist. So if you collect all five characters and start the mastermind mode, then you can get up to six balls. Okay, side job is lit. Almost. Kareem Kaboom again. Again, these are random. There's four side jobs. I think we've only seen Kareem Kaboom and... If you get it more than one time per game, then I think it cycles through. You won't get the same one twice in a row. You're not supposed to. And drain. Okay, now I am going to see if I can start police monster mode, which I don't think I've done yet. I've got bossing. So I explained this at the beginning of the stream, but the combos in this game are a little different than normal. You collect combos by hitting the rims with loop shots, or you don't collect them, you add them, you increase the combo count. In order to collect a combo, you have to hit the side loop shot. So you can have a 4, 5, a 6 loop combo, and you don't collect any bonus points unless or until you hit the side loop shot. I didn't hear you. Is there a tournament mode? There is not currently, but there will be a setting that you can set to remove some of the randomness. Okay, I think I have one police lock. It says so in the display. Okay, lock two is lit. And I started Hacker at the same time. Hacker I don't think I played yet actually. Hacker I'm trying to crack the safe and the way I do that is by using the spinner. So you gotta hit the right spinner, the spinner with the right inside loop. You gotta make it spin I think it was 20 times. you've got to hit the left side of the loop to spin it the other way to get it to go 10 times, and then I think it's 10 more on the right side. So just like a dial on a safe, you have to turn it both ways. Now I have one more ball to try to start the race multiball. I was just given a two-minute warning. So let me finish this game. Let me see if I can start Police multiball Lit I just gotta hit one more shot Okay, please multiball just a couple minutes left so if you have more questions please get them in if you don't then check out our website multimarket.com there's full pricing there we're running promotions until april 17th so if you buy a new p3 you'll get some discounts on games and uh otherwise thank you for joining the stream i appreciate your interest and we love this game we're super excited about it we're actually shipping games even though we're under shelter in place orders we have games that we pre-built and we are shipping them out of our homes so until that stock runs out which i think all the stock is spoken for we're working through the the shipments until we're out of the stock we'll keep shipping them and then when we get back to the factory we will build more The game itself, if you already have a P3, is $2,750. So, gotta be the best deal there is on a brand new pinball game. This multiball is a multistage multiball. So I shot the inner orbits and then I hit the police jail to move to the next level. I just moved to the third level which is the outer loops I think the side loop is lit for a super jackpot it's two o'clock Jack hopefully you don't have to cut me off I'll finish this game and we will call it a day Alright Transition from police multiball Into jailbreak multiball I only have Safecracker in jail I just freed him And now I'm back down to one ball Alright Well that's it Heist on the P3 from the company Multimorphic, www.multimorphic.com. Kill it. Change the title. Uh, we can just change the title right now. Kill it now. This is a podcast? Eh, it's not a bad idea. Alright, cool. I'm gonna kill the stream. Give me like five minutes to just go to the bathroom and then I'll be right back. Okay? I love you all. I hope you enjoyed that. I will see you in just a little bit. We're going to kick off a very long charity stream in conjunction with Twitch, and it should be pretty cool. All right. Funk. Funk.
