Have you suffered a painful and disabling injury that was not your fault? Are you about to be injured? Would you like to be injured? Have you ever considered a possible injury? You could have been injured and not even know about it! Howdy, I'm attorney at law Joe Adler. I specialize in class A whiplash style injuries. Our pledge to you is, if you need cash, dial 555-WHIPLASH. Whoa. Money just for getting hurt? Uh, Beavis, you're about to be injured. The end. Music Coming to you from beautiful upstate New York, this is the Slam Tilt Podcast, a show about all things pinball. I'm your host Ron Hallett with my co-host Bruce Nightingale. Bruce! Where'd he go? I'm going to go. Bruce. He's gone. Bruce. Get off the mute. He went back to call Ryan. Jesus. Oh, and he dropped just like I figured he would. Oh no. Yes. His internet sucks at the bar. All right. Well, screw him. We're going to get started here because I'm not waiting for him. Okay. Okay. So welcome. We have two guests this week. We have the pinball princess, Steph Gaida is here. And we also have, why don't you do the intro for this, Steph? Let's get some practice. Um, okay. Well, shit. I'm so used to you doing it that it's like, wait. I'm used to Bruce doing it, so... Okay, so basically what you're telling me is I have to pretend to be Bruce. Okay, so actually the next person actually is actually from Chicago, but she's actually from Canada, actually. Actually. Actually. For real. For real. Anyway, here we go. We're gonna do great. Yeah. It's me. And so I'm proud to introduce the second woman to be on the Slam Tilt Podcast, Crystal. Hello. Hello Crystal. Crystal Gemnick, right? Gemnick. Gemnicks. Yes. And actually that's why I didn't introduce her because I wasn't sure how to say her last name. Nice. And I didn't want to screw that up. And I figured you would know. And then you screwed it up. Yep. She was close. I was thinking of the Facebook pronunciation that you had down except I just realized GE can be soft or hard. Oh, like GIF and JIF. Yeah. Yeah. And Bruce isn't here to like, oh my this. Oh my that, yep. Oh my. How does it feel to be going solo suddenly? It's quite liberating actually. See what you don't know is that we've hijacked it so now it's our show and we're interviewing you. Oh. Woosh. So Crystal, why don't you tell us a little about yourself? I live in Chicago. I am a junior tech at Logan Arcade on the northwest side of Chicago. We've got 25 games. It's a great place. I play pinball. I like pinball. And yeah, and also I'm Canadian. Excellent. That's some fucking shot. Oh, what's what's going on, Bruce? Come back. Fucking that's what I'm gonna say every fucking five minutes. Fucking spectrum sucks. Spectrum sucks. Fucking fucking sucks. Isn't that right, Crystal? That's right, it was me. So how was it? It was great. It was fantastic. There was Alice Cooper's Nightmare Castle, which I got to play for the first time. It's pretty awesome. And I know Bowen's working on some, Bowen and team are working on some new code for it. They're going to do a lot more with it. So it's going to be really great. There were a whole bunch of Iron Maidens that Marco brought and a bunch of tournaments and it was good fun. And also I saw Bowen blow up Reactor 9 on the Whitewood which has never been done. Nice. Nice. Yeah, it was very cool. Yeah, and I placed eighth in the overall tournament which was a big deal for me because I qualified 46th. Yes, congratulations. Yeah, that's awesome. I'm actually going to record Sunday, but then Crystal had to go and do good in the tournament and messed everything up. Oh yeah, this is all my fault. What a problem to have. Yeah. So Bruce, you still there? I'm here. Okay. Because Spectrum fucking sucks. Is that going to be the title of the episode? Spectrum Sucks. Oh, it is going to be the fucking episode. Okay. I mean, I believe we have Spectrum down here and Ron? I think we call him Rectum. I'm on Spectrum right now and it's just fine. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I want a new router and they keep on going, nobody ruled the router, nobody ruled at all. Wait, Spectrum? What is Spectrum? Is that like Comcast? It's Time Warner. It used to be Time Warner. It used to be Time Warner. Okay. So we went from shitty to shittier. I haven't, I've had increase in speed since Spectrum took over. Honestly, my service has ruled. Oh yeah, I've had increase in speed but our area around here just, you know, just fucking sucks. Eh, I think you just need an IT person to look at all your shit and get it going right. Well, when's that fucking IT person going out here? Oh, that's right, you're coming out this weekend for Termin, right? No. Fail. Okay, Bruce, back to our guests. So, so Crystal, how was Iron Maiden? No, I'm still cellular. I'm still cellular. Or do we want to save the announcement for another time? I mean, I guess we could say it. Yeah, we could do it. Yeah. I'm down. So, Crystal and I are starting. You and Ron are getting married. Sorry? Good job ruining everything, Bruce. Okay, please start again. I forget. Okay, so Crystal and I will be starting our own podcast. Yay! Yay! Woo! Do we have a name for this podcast? Yep. It's going to be called the Riptide Pinball Podcast in honor of Sea Witch, naturally. Nice, Riptide. Okay. That sound effect better be in that or I will be very highly disappointed. Oh, it will. Zach and I are on that, don't worry. Yeah. Okay, what kind of frequency do you think this will be? Well, we're not going for like a definite rule. I'm following Jeff Teolis. I just realized saying Jeff with the podcast would be really unhelpful. The end of the day, I'm going to be a fan of the pinball. Jeff T. Olis had said to me several times from the first Stephanie Dewitt to the pinball profile that I should do it when I feel like it, like not to make myself stick to a schedule and considering my current recording setup is awkwardly holding a snowball in my family's living room. Oh, I'm doing the same thing. No way. Yeah. You're in Steph's family's room? What? Yeah. A. behavioral sneaking This week in Pinball, Johnny Pneumonic, Black Water, Kaneda's Pinball Podcast, Twippies Awards, transliteelectronic I'm Roni and you have a sea witch. Yeah. I live six hours away. This isn't fair. I know. Get your ass up here. Get moving. You got Zach and me up here. Come on. You'll be all set. So this podcast will be when you feel like it. Yeah. Like a Kaneda thing. Canada? Canada. Canada. Yes, it is a Canada thing. It is a Canada thing. Crystal's from Canada. Crystal's from Canada. And New York is adjacent to Canada even though Canada is very far away from Canada. Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. I'm totally welcome. Are you kidding? You guys are my podcast dads. You are welcome. My dad dad is also slated to be on. You guys are like my podcast extended cousins. Woohoo! There you go. Of in New York. Freaking sweet. So, alright. So the Riptide. Riptide podcast. Got a logo yet? Any ideas? Um, it, well, I mean, the cover page that I'm using is literally a picture I took of the riptide text on my Sea Witch playfield. Very cool. I'm trying to think like, is it good to have like, like our logo has our faces on it. I don't know if that's necessarily a good thing. Yeah, because I would never wear that like on a shirt, because I would never wear a shirt with my own face on it, because that's just weird. I have an unhealthy podcast obsession and listen to pretty much every pinball podcast out there. So let me just look and see. Most of them are text logos. Head to Head has got their faces on it too. Yeah, Head to Head has their faces. Pinheads has the people. Mrs. Pin is a picture of Magic Girl. The spinner is lit. Looks like it's the Ghostbusters goggles. Little Kings is the Well Walker. Pinball profiles got the pop bumper kind of looking thing. Yeah. Yep. Skillshot has an S. So my idea is you should do the picture underneath the pinball machine, like that same pose, but with the camera ground level. And then Crystal could do one and you splice them together. You can either look at each other or look up and then you put the title above it. Well, I mean. Or point up. You guys know the joke about that, right? I'm assuming that's what you're referring to? The joke about... The fact that Crystal and I are a foot apart in height. Oh, okay. I do remember that. I think Crystal was taller than me. I do remember that. I am six foot tall. Yep. I am... Not. Yeah. I am Timmy is tall in comparison to me. Yeah. Tall. So maybe that could be the logo. You're just standing next to each other. That alone would guard you. Subtitles by the Amara.org community I know woman fronted podcast and I mentioned the three podcasts that I know that have a woman host which would be Skillshare tilt through and oh my god I'm fucking blanking Jessica Jessica's podcast podcast yes yeah and everyone immediately took that as Stephanie you should do a podcast and I went what okay and then Mrs. Pin happened and it was like oh my god yes also oh my god yes Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. This week's session on PimbalРuby shows the existing Pim Ball gymnastics Schools Facebook GronsBook Team Yep, yep. We talked about it last week and we're like, okay, let's see if we could do this and like what we like what we want to put together and how we want the how we want the show to run. So we have we have a deadline to have one out soon. So should we tell them when or should we? I mean, we still have to record it. Yeah, but my initial thought would be the anniversary of the day that I was on this podcast for the first time. This week's episode is a bit long, but it's going to be a day. My first episode with you guys was on 420. You guys also got me on episode 69, so I mean... Nice. But hopefully we'll be recording something imminently then. There you go. Alright. Very cool. Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. Any games in your future that you'd like to purchase? Uh, so many. I think my- Okay, we're gonna ask you now, we're gonna ask you the famous question. If you had one machine you'd like to have, the desert island pin, what would you like? Oh boy, um... We all know Stephanie's, which is of course Sea Witch, which you don't have. Yeah. It would probably be Taxi. Mmm, Taxi, comrade, how you doing? Taxi! Hey, yes. It's tough. I really like System Eleven's a lot. They're like my absolute favorite. And Whirlwind was number one for a long time. And I think it's kind of a tough call because like I love Whirlwind too. I feel like I could play Whirlwind for a lot longer whereas I feel like Taxi might kind of get bored with it which I don't want to get bored with Taxi because I love it so much. But... You never get bored of Taxi. It's so great. So how long you been playing pinball? I've been playing pinball for... See, since 2012 I think. 2012. Yeah. And what got you into this wacky hobby? What got me into what? This wacky hobby. Wow, I thought you said slappy happy. I'm like that's what we're calling it. Slappy happy? I love slappy happy. It's my favorite thing. Slappy happy. My ex-boyfriend actually got me into pinball. He was playing, he and a friend of mine and I were all playing together just shortly before the breakup and when we broke up I said, I like this a lot. This makes me really happy so I'm going to keep playing even though he sucks and he's not around but it doesn't matter. So yeah. How did you get hooked up with Jack Danger? He was on the Chicago Pinball League. Pinball Chicago is the name of the league. It's our city league. I think there's about 12 teams right now. And that started just shortly after I got into the hobby. And he was on Dead Flip, which was the original name of his pinball team with Nick Campbell and a couple of other guys. I think Dave Kiss and Brad Zac Stark. I don't know if you guys know any of those people. And they were all so positive and really Dr.Sobne Gutgres, Inter- vent. In the kids Следجа Knapp Arcade David David Van Es Definitely gotta be on a lot Yes And I think that that part of his whole thing is you know it is like his personality and he wants to do like like announce like commentating on eSports and stuff and he can he his range is is pretty wide So yeah, yeah, definitely. Absolutely agree. Anytime he like leaves the room to get a beer or go to the bathroom, he's like, talk to the internet. And I'm like, uh, whoa. Hey guys, playing pinball. Hi internet. Yeah. Right. Hi Internet, I'm Jack Danger. Hello. Flippers and butts. Flippers and butts, oh my. I actually got recognized about three or four times at MGC this weekend as Crystal from Deadflip and it was weird. And nice, but weird. Oop, I think I cut off there. Alright. Oh, by the way, this is episode 87, All Monsters Attack. Oh no, what have we done with this crap? What have we done with this crap? We're almost to the 70s. There's just not that many more. Come on, Bruce. I'm following through with this and we're only going through the ones in the 70s. We're not going through any of the new ones. So we just have to get through it. I have to do MCU. I cannot wait. Yeah, he's doing Marvel. Like every Marvel thing. Even like the TV shows and stuff. Oh my god. Not the TV shows. No, only movies. Okay, but All Monsters Attack is the one and I read the synopsis like, oh yeah, I remember this one. This is the one where the kid's like getting bullied and he like dreams a lot and he dreams about the monsters and the monsters like give him confidence to take on the bullies in the end of the movie. And if you are, go tilt the, tilt the... It sounds really stupid, I'll say, but he hangs out with like Godzilla's son, you know, and they, they, whatever. I think they were low on budget. I'm sorry. So they just use monster fighting scenes from previous movies in the dream sequences so it was kind of lame but there you go. All monsters attack. Was it Mistied? Uh, no. That one was not Mistied. That was not Mistied. So, why don't we do some news? Well, hold on first before we do that. Oh. Spectrum fucking sucks. Oh, okay. Spectrum sucks. We get it. Alright, time for a piece of news. Time for a piece of news. We had the Midwest Gaming Classic, which we mentioned. I'm trying to think, did any like industry type news really happen there other than they had 30 friggin Iron Maidens there? They're all pre-sold. I don't think there was any news really. Oh, Billy Mitchell was there. Oh, Billy Mitchell was there. I actually had that on my list. And he made a statement, I guess. The disgraced Billy Mitchell. Oh, God, he's so gross. Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. This week in Pinball, Johnny Pneumonic, Black Water, Kaneda's Pinball Podcast, Twippies Awards, transliteregon I remember him walking around the convention center and like he'd have a pic like you take a picture with somebody with the thumbs up and then he would just like walk away and be on his cell phone and I was pretty sure that he wasn't really talking to anybody he was just kind of pretending to talk on his cell phone. It just seemed really just like a strange man. It was actually phone sex. He was just listening. 100% how Billy Mitchell would have phone sex. I was on the phone go off once and it was the Pacman sound effect. Oh God. That's true story. I don't know, if someone like me with a legitimate world record, I am insulted that he would cheat for so long. What is your world record? I am the Karate Champ champ. Oh. Which is the old 1984 Data East Karate Champ game, which is at Replay FX. Okay. I did not know that about you. I'm more than he's beaten me. Is that like a special slam tilt challenge? Beat the karate champ champ? Cool. Yeah. Could be a new segment. The thing is the, I mean, I have the plaque thing or whatever from Twin Galaxies and all that. But the yeah, Billy Mitchell was stripped of everything due to him using Mame to get the Donkey Kong record. Do they go to his house and actually take all the things away from him? No, no, no, no. The big deal is in MAME you can do save states where you can just keep playing the same thing over and over until you get it just right and then you can just splice them all together and that's basically what he did. Fail. Fail. So yeah, he was around and about. It's so hilarious that I had that on my list. Billy Mitchell, I don't even know why I wrote that. There was a really funny moment where I was standing playing pinball and just hanging out with some buds and Bowen comes over and he's like, www.clippinnab念.com Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. Sign stump Out NAShtropy cněkpczas evenly Ast송undred Vayidak is the one with the pigeons in boy's It's coming out in a couple weeks, right? Two features have been cut or reduced. What? Yes. One was the trunk. There is a trunk that opens and closes in the back of the game. It is not like the Aerosmith trunk thing where it opens and a ball goes into it. It is like you shoot into the trunk and it either comes around to the upper flipper or it gets diverted and locks in the trunk. You can do whatever you want, right? Just do whatever you want, right? Yeah, just do whatever you want. OK, exactly. So what if you lock a pinball? Yeah, so I'm gonna do whatever I can. And I'll close the lid and I'll let it dry off. I guess as a little like the lid would open and close. Just like an effect, like whenever you lock it, like it would close. So like Pirates of the Caribbean right now, the old one. Yeah, kind of, except you actually lock a ball in there. It was more for effect than anything else, but I guess they had issues with the lid. So they just changed it to it's just a static statically open lid now. Okay, that's not bad. So not a huge deal. The lid is rusted open. Yeah. We're going to get the machine next month. Cool. So, we're just, we're all good. Yeah, yes, Bruce, you're going to keep up with that. Okay. The second thing was they are the three concentric circles spinner Mac, I guess just was not reliable enough and they are going to replace it with a single spinner like you would find on Whirlwind, No Good Gophers, etc. Re ver Flip baskas itu acad眼 Folks atturkan dan click sariv mainkduction at To the point where they actually had the Mac was on a table next to, like, in their booth so you could check it out how cool this thing was and a lot of the marketing was based on that. That's, you know, those those discs that they were supposed to stop. They would stop on a dime and you get different awards, etc. This week on Pinball, Johnny Pneumonic, Black Water, Kaneda's Pinball Podcast, Twippies Awards, transliteropolitan and a couple of other things. It's a great way to get your money back. Oh yeah, that was, you know, do we get money back and the game's going to be cheaper now, right? Of course, right? This is the problem when you're selling the games based off the prototype. Hmm. And they could always argue like, it was a prototype, things can change. Yes, prototypes are not always led to believe as the final product will be coming out the same way. Mm hmm. Yeah. That's why you go by rule number one of the Slamtail Podcast. Do not buy a game till you can get it in your hands. I thought the number one rule of Slamtail Podcast was you didn't talk about Slamtail Podcast. No, that's the second rule of Slamtail Podcast. And at least you have to have one Bruce-ism in every show. Yeah, that's true. So that's a bummer. I mean, that kind of sucks for them. I mean that that that had to be a painful decision to do that. At least the ship still works knock on wood. Yeah. I honestly I thought that the I thought that the ship was going to be the the biggest issue because it's just like that mechanism just seems like like huge and difficult but I didn't know anything about the mech the circular disc mechs until you just told me but Thank you for watching. In The pin siders would argue like you know you're paying a premium for these games It's supposed to 30 zillion toys at them and then you you know you you you have to pull it out of the game I think I might be wrong on this but I I'm not 100% but I think the one that's at level 27 is a test game, too Yes, yeah, yeah Yeah, I believe that's yeah, they had a dialed in that was the test game. Yep. That was there. I guess the test failed. I I just don't know. I can just say I don't know why they have to do wide bodies for everything. Agreed. The best game they've had was a nonlicensed conventional size game. Yep. That I would think sold fairly well. I don't know what the sales numbers are, but I mean, it won a Twippy. So it's got to be great, right? Talking about dialed in, of course. Yeah. I'm also a little biased because I'm not a tremendous fan of white bodies in general. Kind of in the minority there, but... No, I don't know if you're in a minority. It's hard to make a good playing wide body. But cheetah. But cheetah. There you go. But cheetah. Cheetah. And big game. And Flight 2000. Flight 2000 is my jam. Yep. See, Stern knew how to do it. Old Stern. Paragon's really good too. There you go. But that's it. The end. Well, here you go. I mean, they've gone with the whole rule like all their games are wide bodies. You know what other manufacturer had that mantra where all their games were wide bodies? Atari. Yes. Correct. And Highway Pinball. Well, and Highway too. Yeah, that's yeah. But look what it did for Atari. When they did Pinball Highway. Yeah. I mean, all the Atari games suck other than Superman. And actually Hercules isn't that bad. But pretty much all their other games suck. Yeah but Hercules is a twin bed novelty. That is true. I mean that is... Hercules, Hercules, Hercules. Ultra super wide body. It's your casket for your, for your, when you're ready to be in a funeral, you can have your casket. Yep, you can be buried in Hercules. Oh god. Oh man that didn't sound right, I'm sorry. I can bury it in the Hercules. Oh, God. Okay, so Iron Maiden. We talked about Iron Maiden. Billy Mitchell I had in here. Jersey Jack. Wasn't that much news, really. We have new code. You had... Iron Maiden already has new code. .92 And I watched, they had a seminar at the show and I guess they said they were awaiting approval. They're still awaiting final approval This week in Pinball, Johnny Pneumonic, Black Water, Kaneda's Pinball Podcast, Twippies Awards, transliteMale The code update. We're to .90. Getting closer to 1.0. Almost there. Almost there. It's away. It includes a... Nope, negative. Nope, negative. Just tacked it on the surface. Four major villain modes. So, looks like some pretty big updates on that one. I really want to wait to play this until it's totally done. I played like the alpha version of this because rock fantasy has it. I think I played it at the launch party and I've never played it since. I don't blame you. Because I kind of want it to be done. Yeah. I think so. It's been a lot better since they added the minor Villain modes in. It's not hit the same shots over and over again and take your life. It's actually got some strategy to it but *** Oh shoot, what's her name? Oh gosh, the cat woman who did the oh, why can't I think of her name? Eartha Kitt. Eartha Kitt. Thank you very much. Yep, Eartha Kitt's there, which is awesome. It is Perfect. I can't trill the R. You need to know you gotta go There you go, so great so Yeah, it's speaking of Batman 66 This week in Pinball, Johnny Pneumonic, Black Water, Kaneda's Pinball Podcast, Twippies Awards, transliteelectronic panel in backbox that is backlit during playLAUSE So is this segment Ron Wasn't wrong? I wasn't wrong. I put him over. I said he kicked our asses on no fear. And somehow I got called out for that. I call you out. Yeah. Let's see Batman 66. I think that's it for news. Okay. So let's start a little new thing. Seth, how was your week in pinball? My week in pinball? What week is it? Um, it's the 107th day of the month of the year. So 107, 100 through one, one Oh seven. Oh, um, I had not league on Thursday. Not Lee. Wow. Yes, there's a private collection that we that is not included in the OCPC that we went to on Thursday. I think. Yes. Very nice collection has a lot of good games like Is Black Panther System 6 or System 8? System 7? System 7. Thank you. So you know how you have all those two tiered System 7s? Yes, four of them. Yeah, I got to play those. Oh, all four? Yeah. Okay. And I also got to play your favorite Gottlieb. What era? What's my favorite Gottlieb? Buck Rogers's. No, it's an 80... 80, okay. Probably an 80 actually. Would it happen to be a widebody? I think so, yeah. Would it happen to have an extra button on the left side of the cabinet? Wouldn't that be Devil's Dare? Yeah. No, it's the other one. The other one? It's not Black Hole, is it? Yeah. God. Ugh. And guess what I found out about Black Hole? It's really that bad and should be all burned? The pin and the butt to work on? See, there you go. No, if you're me and you accidentally shats things and you accidentally shats the right in-lean, it's gonna hit that gate. The gate will be like, oh, I'll open, let the ball out into the out-lean, and then close. Bye bye ball. Isn't it a great game? Didn't you want to play more? I was not thrilled. I was like, this black hole is beautiful, but I think I might hate it. It sucks. It's a terrible game. Honestly, if you want a game with the cool rotating back glass, play Spirit. Spirit is so much better. Are you kidding? Yeah, Spirit is so good. So good. It's a super rare game but for some reason Zach has one in his bedroom. That's an ADA meaning that Black Hole is possibly also an ADA? No, it's an 80. It's an 80? I thought it was an ADA. According to IPDB it's flat out an 80. Okay, I remember Spirit. Why did they call it System 80 instead of System 2? Did they have to take the year that they released it and make that instead of 2? You don't want to follow one. Then why did they go to three? I don't know. I mean at least Williams went in order. I mean they would skip numbers because there'd be like one prototype or one game and then it would go to the next number but for the most part at least all the way up to 11 they kept the number thing going but well how about Bally? I mean what is it even called? It's the Bally system. 17 and then 35. Yeah. Exactly. So what different, you know, then Stern is what? MPU 100, MPU 200. Well, at least that has logic to it. So well, then Gottlieb was like the Microsoft, you know, Xbox, Xbox One. I think 360 came first but So out of the four those four bi system seven games Jason Person What's the best? Um, I actually thought about this for a while while playing it. I think I actually like Pharaoh most. Fail. Followed by Black Knight. Fail. Followed by Solar... Fire. You're getting to a good one. You finally got the good one. Yes, you finally got the good one. Look, I'm probably mad at Solar Fire because I had to play it in competition and it kicked my ass as it always does. and then jungle Lord was cool but it annoyed me. Be JungleLord. So Crystal, have you played all four? I haven't played any of those. Any of those? I've played Black Knight. Okay. But, I've, no, I haven't, no. No. I feel, I feel awful. Well, you're going to replay effects though, right? I am, yes. Okay. So that's, that's a task. You must play all four of the systems. Did they have all four? Now that I'm thinking about it. They have JungleLord. They have SolarFire. They have SolarFire. I don't remember Pharaoh. I don't think they have Pharaoh. Damn, Pharaoh is so good. Pharaoh, rah, rah. Ooh, JungleFire looks cool. It's cool until you realize that your ability to lock balls is all due to a bagatelle random thing on the upper left. Hmm. Terrible. So like toast only less cool. Toast. It kind of reminds me a little bit of the Zachariah pinball machines. Like the way that the upper playfield is with the like the ramps, but I guess it's kind of like the way that those machines were with those like the ramps and then that like upper playfield. Am I wrong? No, let's let's get real pinball geeky something only pinball geeks could actually answer. What's your favorite Zachariah game? Oh, God. Oh, God, it's so hard. It's gotta be Farfalla. The two for farfella um That's three I think I Like the motorcycle one. I like the devil devil writers. Yep. No, right. It's pretty good. All right the the devil writers that I've played and some Annoyed me so Not sure. I'm a fan so anything else step this week I Didn't go to a new bar league. That's I'm not playing pinball. Also known as I need to get myself to a place where I can just play Sea Witch constantly. Come on down. You're in an epic game. I'm not playing pinball. I'm not playing pinball. I'm not playing pinball. I'm not playing pinball. I'm not playing pinball. I'm not playing pinball. Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. So I was trying to adjust the switch, then someone comes by and like adjusts it for me. Spent the next hour trying to figure out how to make the game flip again. They adjusted it too far and that's how I learned how to adjust an EOS switch. An hour of, Zach, what the hell am I doing? Do you have a good Leaf Switch adjuster? Eventually I found out that Howard had one. I forgot to ask for one and I was stubborn and used my finger like an idiot. Did he actually have one? Yes, he has one. Awwww. I know, I can't tell you how many times I've been to people like, you have a switch adjuster and they look at me like, huh? Like really? You don't have a switch adjuster. You own like 10 games. How do you not have a switch adjuster? That's silly. I would actually eventually figure it out how to adjust it properly and I'm just like, I don't know what I'm doing and I'm scared because I don't want to blow a fuse. Awwww. So Crystal, besides MGC, anything else? Uh-huh. Anything else? What happened in your week in pinball? I, actually, after, so it was really funny at MGC my entire, uh, pinball team, we were all there together like we caravaned and we stayed in the hotel together and we tournamented together and it was a lot of bonding but we, uh, last, Kumbaya. Yeah. Kumbaya. And a lot of drinking and playing board games in the hotel room. Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. I'm not going to be able to make it because I was just so freaking tired from the weekend and being on my feet and playing so much pinball. But we managed to carry that energy into our league night, which was awesome. Yeah, no, other than that, there's nothing else really. I'm missing a tournament tonight to be on this podcast. Wow. Oh my goodness. Thank you for your sacrifice. It's worth it. attorneyrome Oopsworthit Thanks. Okay. So Bruce, you wanna know what I did? No? Bruce Spectrum sucks, BRUCE Survival Right here, here's gonna have to shoot greets Okay I had League, Sunday What's a league for you? uh what league that there? We had like Ten people there! That's the most we've ever had! Did they get away free food? No? went and all to play the two games we get to play yes and what two games were there again? well thank god roadshow's no longer there otherwise I'd still be there playing they have a well they still have the Demoman thank goodness and Twilight Zone oh god yeah I kind of remembered why i really don't like Twilightzone that much Clunky stop and go and but at least it played hard enough where the ball times were short so things kept moving which is the most important thing but yeah we had over ten people there was I was so excited we've never had that many people that is I mean we actually had rounds where I didn't play because you know we do you know ten people two games foursome so I had to sit out a couple rounds that's never happened So what did you do Bruce? No, hold on. Hold on. Did you win? Did I win? What do you mean did I win? Did you win league night? Did I win league night? I don't know. We play and they use the match play software. Let's see. I played Twilight Zone. I finished last, first, then on Demoman I finished I think second and first. So I have no idea where that puts me. Don't know either. Fail. Nope, sorry. Bruce gets on my case because I don't look at stats. I don't look at the standings. Wait, was it actually on MatchPlay? Yes, MatchPlay events. So I guess I could go there and try to find it and see what my record is. And I think there's a standings page somewhere but I've never looked at it. I'm there for the fun, Bruce. What's that? It's a pinball. There is no fun. There is no fun. So Bruce, any takers on the house yet? Uh, yes, it is sold again. Okay. It is on a contingent sale, but they just sold their house today. Oh, okay. So, uh, we have to go through the inspections for both houses. Once that's done, we gotta make a final date and then hopefully go from there. So, I gotta start moving more shit. I gotta get my shit out of my house. But I got extra shit. I got extra shit today in the mail. Oh, you got a new game in the mail? No, I got, I got two big packages in the mail. Oh my. Oh my. And what would they be? George Takei would be so jealous. Yeah, he still hasn't answered us yet. I know, what the fuck? We actually emailed George Takei. Asked him to come on the show for like our 100th show. For the 100th. Yeah. Yes. Pastor didn't say yes or didn't say no. Just ignored us. Yes. Bruce's letter was actually quite well written. See? Yeah. I was impressed. Uh, no, I got two. I got two. I got two. I got two. I got two. I got two. I got two. I got two. I got two big packages. One you knew about and one you did not know about. So I'm gonna go to one you did not know about first. Okay. I got a translate today for a kingpin. Number 66. Ooh, does that mean you're in line? I'm in line, baby. He's in line for a kingpin. Wow. I get first dibs on number 66, which is really freaking sweet. And then the next thing is I got a big package. And? I didn't get to see it yet, but it's home. I have an NOS cheetah playfield at my house. Ron was very jealous of me. Yep. Ron was very jealous. I said you're bringing it over, right? Yeah, of course I am. Yeah. No. Oh. Yep, I missed out on the one that uh, what's his name, uh, coinop warehouse was selling. I was number two in line and he, the number one guy did take it. And then about a week later somebody emailed me and said, hey, I heard you were looking for a playfield. And I said, yes I am and I'll sell it to you for this much. And I said, okie dokie. And guess what? It is now in my possession. I can't wait to go home. It's like Christmas tonight. I'm going to open up a brand new playfield. Yay! Thank you. That's another advantage of having a podcast. You may get better leads. Just saying. Yeah. You'll get a lot better leads. Just saying. Like $21 freaking... 23.10. I still can't believe that happened. $23.10. Ron still can't believe I drove 2,400 miles for it. No. Yeah. That's... I don't think anyone can believe it. No. That's stupid. So Ron, how's the podcast...how's our podcast website going? Okay. Yes. Just go to slam tilt podcast.com. Everything is up there. Everything is done. It is it looks beautiful. Really? Go to the upper right hand, upper right hand corner of the site, you will see the links for pretty much everything we have our Twitch page, our YouTube page, Facebook, our email address, everything is there. Oh, my numbers. And yes, the stats are set up. We've had about eight downloads. Excellent. Being that we're not having advertised anything, I am the next few, what are we on? 87. Okay, so I will for 87, 88 and 89, I will continue to upload at Podcast Garden and our site and reminding our listenership, each podcast that we're moving. We're moving after Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. We will be using the new site exclusively. So people won't have to suck it. Yeah. So speaking of that, for the Riptide podcast, you guys know where you're going to be hosting it? Probably going to have to submit to Podcast Gardens Gardening. Start new. Start fresh. Don't settle. It's not bad. I mean, I can't fault it. I mean, if it depends how often you post, I think if you don't post super frequently, you can actually do it for free, I think. Yeah, monthly is free. Yeah. So if that was the issue with us is we're weekly plus we're on a schedule. So when they're constantly down, I mean, if you're monthly and you post it, it's like it'll be up eventually. You're assuming that podcast garden will remember to renew all of itself and Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. I am the audio engineer of the people. I will take on full social media responsibility if I have to. There you go. This sounds familiar with the one tech person. So who's going to get all the guests? Equal. Equal. It's a partnership. I get all the guests mostly. Yes. Yes, Bruce, you get all the guests because you're far more social than I am. Except for George Takei. Yeah, he won't come on. He won't come on. If you keep calling him Takei, he's not going to come on. Yeah, it's George Takei, Bruce. Say his name right. What is it? He says Takei as in pay, not Takei as in pie? Or is that wrong? Sounds like that. Yes, that is correct. Bruce, you did not say my name right. Blow me. Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! Okay guys, are you ready for your first bit? The first bit? Yep. Would you or would you not buy that? Oh god, we're gonna do this? Okay. Now remember, remember they have snowball mics so we'll get to hear all the keyboard clicking. We will. It's gonna be great. I was just thinking of that. Like okay. I'm sure you guys have loved me like looking up random things trying to find Ron's tournament. I'm ready. You got it. All right. eBay, right? This, yeah, again, eBay it is. for those who have not seen the segment before, go to eBay. Bruce is going to give you a auction number and we will investigate to see would we or would we not buy that? First auction is 152-805-210-136. Hot course is a hot tip. Ooh, hot tip. That's a solid state though. Damn. Williams1977 hot tip works great. Super fun to play with a very good rating on IPDB. Flicking. We feel good. Are those flippers okay? Am I bugging or are they like severely misaligned? Or it's a picture? Yeah, they're misaligned. Really? Well, where do you see that? I just take the picture. Fourth one, fourth picture, right to high. Fourth picture. Oh boy. Also, they like that that is the shiniest glass to ever glass. Oh, and they left it on. Yes, of course. Ron loves when eBay pictures when they leave the glass on. The last picture, the close-up of the backglass. One, that horse has a lot of wear. Two, why do they all have like really suggestive looks? Like, they're all like looking coyly at something on the right playfield. I'm not quite sure what it is. What is going on on this playfield? Um, Steph, this is a pinball machine. If there's a bunch of guys looking at something like that, what do you think they're looking at? They're actually fighting a dude whose horse is like a U-turn. The horse's neck is in a frickin' C-shape. Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. I'm going to go with the pinball. Would you? $900? I mean, what's wrong with it, Bruce? The back glass is kind of shot. All right. There's some severe wear. Okay. So, would you guys buy that? Hard pass. Yeah, I'm looking at the left saucer. It's worn, it looks like it's worn down to the wood in front of it right above where it says advanced bonus. It could be a problem. So, Riptide would not buy that. Not buy that. Nope, wash it away. Ready for the next number guys. Hit me. 142 760 878 795 Ooh! Joust pinball, but not the one you think. Ooh. It is a bally joust EM. With zipper flippers. Good old zipper flippers. Oh, the playfield looks pretty good. More horses. Is this a horse theme, Bruce? It could be. Only $1,050 made. Oh yeah, I would, I would, mmm, I like this. But do you like it for $2,100? Yeah, mmm. I like it for about half that price. Yeah. But it's rare, like it says. And the baguette towel on the right-hand side gets me a little bit too. You got to go for it, Steph. It's by Orange County Pinballs. Probably the wrong Orange County. The wrong Orange County. It's the one that tried to sell that bottomless raven. Bottomless raven. Okay. You could have just said raven and probably had the same reaction. Not even with no with no bottom number to what Raven but it's white glove ship white glove in Home Delivery Nationwide so we'll bring it in your house will drive with a white glove up and we'll stick it right in there. Oh, sorry. it's $500 shipping? Yeah First bah or less be or less the face on that hypothesis I'm really concerned. Which one? The knight that has the broken stick and looks very suggestively. This is really... I'm getting some really disturbing innuendos here. A lot of suggestive horses. The horses are in love. That's very obvious. Clearly. Yeah. And they call it horsey love. Oh man. So he's looking over, I mean, is he looking at the guy or is he looking over at the audience? I can't really tell. Well, one horse is like side-eyeing the other. Like they're, those horses are definitely having a conversation. Yep. Those guys are trading glances and I'm very confused. It doesn't really look like a joust just happened. It looked like it was like, like a run-in. Knapp Arcade David David Van Es www Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. Okay, ready for the next game? The next game, okay. Now Steph, do you want something that's gonna make you mad or do you want something that's gonna make you sad? Oh god. Um, let's make me mad first. Ticket number 142760086467. I'm wrong. Iron Maiden. It's sold out. L.E. I don't get it. Wait, who is selling this? Oh, wait. Okay, so is it like it's saying it's sold out, but they have one and they're going to charge you $12,000 for it? This person has one now. He's asking $12,000, which first is crack money for a game we don't even know what it looks like, right? This week in Pinball, Johnny Pneumonic, Black Water, Kaneda's Pinball Podcast, Twippies Awards, transliteEERING New York New York likes to buy LE games and tries to sell them real fast Stephanie. Is it Kaneda? Oh God, don't. Is that who this is? That's who it is. See, so some guy with the gold standard podcast has terrible feedback rating on eBay. And it's trying to make the $2,000 or $3,000 markup on a game no one's seen. That's our gold standard, boy. Oh boy. I also like that the font in the description is like .200. Yes. It's so big. Oh come on. Any comments, Steph? Any comments? I'm... I don't know. You're speechless, aren't you? Hey, Bruce says it to me all the time, so don't worry about it. Okay, good. Okay, next one. Last one. This is good. This is the good one. This is the one that will make you kind of laugh and sad at the same time. Ticket number 253 563 723 928 What? What? Arcade coin operated answer machine ask the judge. This is like the magic eight ball of arcade games. Do I need more exercise? Will money solve my problems? Should I do it today? Am I sexy? Is this a good day for love? Real question is, is the picture taker naked? What? What? Oh my, yes, he is hot looking. He is really hot looking. He sure is. Holy creepy. Also, wait, is this sitting on his sink? It looks like it. What is happening? On his toilet. Maybe the decision machine didn't do very much for him. Maybe, maybe he was going by his dating. I just got that, yeah, he's like got no shirt on. Oh buddy. Oh, oh my. Cannot unsee. It's on a sink. It is on a sink. Well that's another one down the drain. It's only $85 though. It is. I would actually buy this. Oh wait, so this description is one very long sentence. Okay, here we go. This is a rare version of this astajots entry machine coin operated bin. This Ask the Juts. entry machine coin operated plays the coin in the slot push button on top it picks the question and on the bottom will give you a decision answer from the 1970s works good tested three times before leaving the shipping plugged into the wall paypal only usbidders only low starting price about one foot tall about 10 inches wide will fit just about anywhere rate for your collection man cave or store. Also, there's a picture of Curly in the corner. Yeah, the more you look at it, the worse it gets. Yeah. It is great. You get the three stooges in the end for your decisions. I keep wanting to look at the reflection to see what's in this person's sink, but I also don't know if I want to know. Oh, very good, Bruce. I thought you liked that one. I'd buy that. $85? But the shipping's $35. Yeah. Oh, it's in New Jersey. You can just pick it up, Bruce. Exactly. Where in New Jersey? He's got a shirt on then. Okay, it's in Woodbridge, New Jersey. It's off of 1 and 9. It's about the middle of the state. Okay. Steph, it could be yours. It could be yours. Um... No? No. He's got 100% positive feedback. 554 things he sold too. Yeah. Just saying. I don't need decision. Okay. If I need a decision, I'll use random.org. That's a great decision maker. Time for the slam ball bag. We only have two of them this week. Yeah, I'm on the podcast. I'm not writing in. Yeah, one of them's for just a press release. For immediate release, It's from Never Beef. Never Beef. I never beef. Yeah. Crystal, what does Never Beef mean to you? Does that have any meaning? Is that like something a vegetarian says a lot? Oh, there you go. See? There you go. Why did they come up with this name? No one gets it. Because it's a New York City of regionalism. Yes, there are pinball, jargon, regionalism, so much of it. But like Never Beef, I don't know. When I was a kid, beef meant to fart. Like, you know, did you just beef? Yeah, that that was that so when I saw this just palace coffee opening Between Pink playing for only one guy joining inter-team For on air interviews. Oh my. Hi, I'm Jeff Teobis. I have pro talents for interviews. Did you interview me? Oh, and they plugged his prop podcast Pinball Profile. Oh wait a minute, we can't plug prop podcast, right? No, we do not plug podcast until we are officially accepted. You know what's gonna happen? I hate to say this, but... Okay, okay, officially, hold on, officially accepted for those who don't know what you're talking about. And I wonder if um, Stephanie Crystal will now be eligible for this. Not yet. Not until they actually make a broad until they make a broadcast. Yeah, I might not be eligible even if our podcast gets nominated. Why? Why? Um, I may have been asked to be a ringer. Oh, no one's asked me yet. So this is the podcast bloodbath invitational that will be at That replay effects after the finals are over and we have not been selected. You know that blogs are eligible now apparently. Yeah, I know. Anyway. Next will be a guy down the road that says I like pinball. But you guys know who has a pinball blog? You do. I do. Why don't you tell us about your pinball. Is that going to continue? I'm assuming that's going to continue. It is, yeah. It is. I don't really have a whole lot of time to do it, but I do it when I can. But yeah, it's a... Oh god, I always forget the URL. I'm so bad at plugging my own stuff. Isn't it pbtoots? I think it's pinballtoots.tumblr.com. So what could I expect to read on this blog? I do explanations of rulesets and I kind of like, I'll pick like a tutorial video and I'll post it I'm going to go ahead and write my own thoughts and break down the rules. Break down. Go ahead and give it to me. Break down. Give it to me now. Don't give up your day job, Bruce. Yeah. Right now my day job is cooking. I'm cooking right now while I'm talking to you guys. You are so versatile, Bruce. You're cooking. You're telling Ryan C how to fix machines. It's great. It's wonderful. Jack of all trades. Jack of all trades. Master of none. The selection committee has already selected a blogger. Oh, who is that? They selected This Week in Pinball. Yeah, that went out, what, like yesterday? Yeah. Two days ago? I have no sense of time, in case you couldn't tell. Nobody wants that, God. They selected him since they said all the podcasters rip him off anyway, so boom, he's in. You realize that the committee is going to make you beg, right? No, I'm not gonna beg you. They can go scratch my ass. And remember, Chuck Webster is just, he's just the messenger. He's not the committee. Yeah. Yeah, he's just not the committee at all. Chowder fucking head. Wow. Wow. I guess I'm the only one that trash talks in this fucking thing, you know, and I'm the, we're the ones that are only being ignored. I love how this fucking works. I want to see actual trash talking during this. I'll trash talk. We are picked. It's gonna fucking happen. Cuz when I went to the trash talker invitation, I was surprised how like there was no trash talking going on. Yeah, it was all, although Augie and I did some Yankees Red Sox banter. Yeah. But I want like someone's playing like, oh, nice shot. Oh, another miss. Oh, good job. Oh, another miss. Fail. Fail. Yeah, we're too nice when it gets down to it. Yeah, it is like no one wants to say anything. It's like it's for fun It's just not like this is not the IFPA Invitational or something come on. But guess what? There's no points involved. I mean, there's no rules I'll be right there. I'll be right there with you Bruce if I mean if I get accepted, but I can trash talk Bruce Sissons will be coming into my ass my ass and my mouth all fucking weeks. Are you gonna make people cry Bruce? of course This crop dust them what's that where could this drafted question that you quote which gays he owns and a rio Kw he goes through his history Blackout, Ant's House when I was 11, Mata Hari, Parents Home when I was 14, Blackout, my first home game 2014ish, Getaway, traded Blackout for it, still have it, Paragon, second home game, still have it, Central Park, third home game, Lancers, fourth home game, still have it, and Genie, sold Central Park and added Genie. So I have a Getaway, Paragon, Genie, and Lancers. I'm hoping to trade a getaway for a World Cup Soccer and sell Lancers to add a firepower. So heading to Cactus Jack Silverball Showdown tomorrow morning with Colin. Just found out they were going to have an Iron Maiden in TNA. Wish me luck. Player 164. P.S. I was disappointed we didn't do I'd Buy That on my episode. Fail. I know. I didn't have any good one. I didn't have any good one. P.P.S. Pinballs has a Hercules at all three of their locations. They do play well but I hate when someone selects them for match play league games. Buck fifty a game, ouch. That would suck. That would suck. Speaking of firepower, and hopefully Scott is listening. This is for you Scott C. I was trying out his beta software on my firepower and I don't know if this is because you gave me an updated beta software It's the best thing I've ever seen. It's the best thing I've ever had. I mean, I have it on my mind. I don't know if I'm going to play it, but I'm going to be playing it because of my complaints of the sound cutting out deal. But I can tell you, I was unable to get through a four-player game before it locked up on me. Very weird behavior. It will like, the four, the six targets that you hit, the light locks, they were strobing and all of a sudden they would just start really strobing fast for no apparent reason, but they still worked. But then like there'd be weird sound cutouts, like it would count up the bonus, it would Knapp Arcade, David David Van Es. Let me know every word you want to do.
