News A Look at Dungeon Crawler Carl Pinball's Art? Who is Making It? Rumors about Stern's Upcoming Fallout Pin k knapparcade June 29, 2026 I've got two interesting items for us to discuss this afternoon. Let's kick things off with the rumored pinball machine based on the popular Dungeon Crawler Carl (DCC) LitRPG series of book by author Matt Dinniman. When the rumor that a pinball machine based on the IP first came out after Dinniman's comments at a fan event, I hadn't read any of the books. Flash forward several months to today and I am three-quarters of the way through the 8th book in the series! I really chewed through that fast didn't I? lol There's two main rumors about what company is going to build this game, one that says it's coming from Barrels of Fun and one that says it's coming from Multimorphic. When the rumor came out, I had been firmly in the Barrels of Fun is making it camp. A lot of that speculation comes from the fact that Karl DeAngelo, the designer of Barrels' latest game Winchester Mystery House, is purportedly a big fan of Dungeon Crawler Carl. Not long ago, I saw a picture of him dressed as Carl for Halloween, so I believe it. Recently however, the chatter that the game is actually coming from Multimorphic, maker of the P3 modular pinball system, has grown much stronger. We're at the point now where if I had to guess which company is making it, I'd probably say that we're getting DCC from Multimorphic. Regardless of who is making the game, we may have just gotten a sneak peek at what the art on it will look like, courtesy of Instagram. On the platform, the artist who does cover art for the DCC books, Luciano Fleitas, recently shared the image below with the following quote: !Advertisement Ad 2 of 3 " This will look great on a pinball machine, won't it?" Very interesting. Some of the books are better than others, but I've obviously grown to really like the series and am looking forward to seeing the game. Even if one of these companies is making it, there's no guarantee that it is coming next from them...but something is, and soon. On my internal calendar of game releases (my brain haha), I'm expecting to see new games from both Multimorphic and Barrels of Fun very soon. Multimorphic's during the second week of July give or take and Barrels' sometime after that. New sponsor slot Your sponsored ad here Be the first to claim this placement. Contact knapparcade@gmail.com today Here's another DCC drawing of his that I think may be pinball-related: * Next up is rumors about Stern Pinball's likely upcoming pinball machine based upon Amazon Prime's Fallout show. There's a ton of fans of both the Fallout video games and television series out there so I can see it working as a pin...plus Stern's Keith Elwin is rumored to be designing the game so that alone will make people buy it. During a recent episode of the JBS Show Pinball Roundtable YouTube show, the fellas (specifically Cale) discussed new rumors about Stern's Fallout. Specifically, it is rumored to be the first Elwin game with a lower playfield — a flipperless lower playfield with a magnet (possibly like "The Power" miniplayfield on Bally's 1993 game Twilight Zone). They also heard that the game has a cannon that the player loads from a ramp (Williams' 1991 game Terminator 2: Judgment Day). The last rumored feature is an angled upper-right flipper fed for repeat shots. They speculate that the game will be revealed sometime around the Chicago Pinball Expo this fall.
