Evolution is all about successful mating, okay? Those individuals who are able to pass along their genetic material to future generations are the winners in the game of evolution. Whoa! I got it, Beavis. We should, like, uh, evolve? Why? Because we need to evolve into dudes who score. Yeah, cool. I'm going to evolve a bigger wiener. Yeah. Coming to you from beautiful upstate New York, this is the Slam Tilt Podcast, a show about all things pinball. I'm your host, Ron Hallett, here with my co-host, Bruce Nightingale. Extreme! Extreme Expo! Extreme Expo! Episode 136. Who would have thought we'd make it this far? Uh, me. Why not? Wow. Yeah. Expo. Chock full of nuts. Yep, this is going to be the Expo, um... Recap. Recap edition. Yes, it is. Yes. Since both of us were there. Yes, yes. Yes, yes. I have a long list here of the great things that happened at Expo. Yes. But I would say, by far, the unveil of Guns N' Roses was definitely the highlight. That was incredible. I mean, number one, you wouldn't think when they put the seminar on Saturday night, you figured they weren't going to unveil anything because by Saturday night, people were packing up half the time on Saturday night. And then they brought out the WANKAs, and then they started talking about, They brought the Collector Edition Wonkas, and they started talking about them for a while. And you figure, like, oh, this is going nowhere. But I don't know why I stayed. And then Slash came out. I know. Slash was incredible. That was funny. He comes out of the back. They brought out two Guns N' Roses. It was incredible. Yeah. They had two Guns N' Roses machines and two Wonkas. So we got to play those. Yes. That was fun. And we got to play them. I know. Together. Together. I think it's the first time we actually played a Jersey Jack since Dialed In. Yeah, I mean, it was awesome. Were you there, was it Friday night you showed up? Yes, Friday night late. Yeah, because I'm just playing a game like in the free play room, and all of a sudden, like, someone taps me in the shoulder, turn around, and it's Bruce. And I give him a big hug. They gave me a hug. The other hilarious thing is Scott Danesi unveiling his new game in the row of homebrews. Yeah, nobody knew it was a homebrew. Yeah, to see if anyone noticed, it's like all of a sudden there's this spooky game with the homebrews and nobody noticed nobody noticed except for us because we kind of had the no we had the inside view yep but we were promised because he's he made fun of me and said did you like my game yeah and i was like what and he goes oh yeah the game it's over there and i'm like no it's not he goes yeah it is and i was like no he goes but he can't tell anybody and we did not until now we did not until now we were told to not say anything until after expo and then the uh the media event. It was good having you there. Yes, it was. Mr. Personality. Yes, because you were just bored out of your gourd the first night, you said. Well, yeah. I met like three people, and they were all just people I knew. Wow. Yeah. But once Bruce was there, the party started. Party started. I couldn't, my hand actually cramped up from all the autographs. That's true. The banner was awesome. Bruce took the banner back with him. It's now prominently displayed at Silver Ball Saloon, which is located where? At 135 West Commercial Street in East Rochester, New York. It was great to see everyone. Yeah, what else? All the famous people coming up to us, actually, and talking to us. Yeah, that was pretty interesting. Yeah. That was very interesting. And you know what? If you believe any of this... You're a sucker. Sucker! Yes, none of that happened, folks. Nope, nothing at all. Nothing at all. Bruce did not make it there. Nope. We had a really busy weekend, which was excellent. Busy bar. Happy Bruce. Happy Bruce. Until you got a bite of liquor back and everything like that. Then you go sad. So Expo. Oh, there's the yawn. Very good. First one, 654. The Expo 2019. Recap time. I'm going to take a nap, so I'll see you later. Oh, stop. I have a long list here of stuff. Well, first, I was a member of the press, Bruce. I got a press pass. We got a shout-out to Ken Cromwell for organizing the whole thing. He printed out these, like, vinyl, like, banners. So we actually have a banner now, which, unfortunately, is not at Bruce's. It's at my house. I should bring that over. It would probably be better suited at your place than my place. It probably would be, definitely. Hopefully no one steals it. No, I just hang it higher. Out of reach. That's true. That's true. I have the other thing, the Slam Tilt podcast that I've been robbed. And we had press tables, and it was interesting. I felt, you know, for once I felt bad that we didn't have any shirts. I didn't have anything to sell or give away. I didn't have stickers or anything. So if I do that again, I definitely got to bring something. There you go. See, we should have shirts, shouldn't we? Yeah, I felt naked at the table. How many autographs did you sign? None. I don't believe I signed any autographs, Bruce. Wow. Did anyone come up and give you a hug this whole weekend? Yes. Let's see. I got to get into the vendor hall early, which really actually didn't happen because that's when my time was from 5 to 6. So I didn't get in the hour early. Bummer. But I did get food. There you go. That was cool. It was good food, too, especially the brownies. It's a big surprise. There you go. And let's see. What do we got here? First thing I have, Krull. Yeah, I've played one. When did you play a Krull? About eight years ago. Where? It was at Allentown, if I remember. Or one of the shows. It was an early show. Or maybe it was, it might have been York. It was York. Yeah, it had to be. It can't be Allentown, because I've been to every Allentown since 2004. Yeah, it was York. They had one. Hmm. It didn't play well, but it was cool. I loved it. I thought it was incredible. Really? Yeah. The sound sucks to want it, though. That's terrible. Really? I thought the sound was the highlight. No, I think the gameplay pretty good. No, I disagree completely. It's better than Black Hole. No, I disagree completely. Wow. Kudos to the owner for bringing it. Yes, very much so. They had multiple issues with it. I think you see why they only made 10 of them. Yes. They look like a maintenance nightmare. Yes, it did. Luckily, Chris Hibbler was right next to the booth and was able to continually fix things. Chris Hibbler, for those who don't know in the hobby, he's the guy, I think when Zach couldn't figure out a particular board repair, he sent it to Chris to fix. Yeah, that tells you how in-depth he is. And he, back in the RGP days, when I needed a flap for the up-down ramp on my getaway, he just sent me one, so that was cool. That's a very good thing. So he, there was a sticking drop target, multiple ball hang-ups. Some of the ball hang-ups were because it was just not inclined enough. So they inclined it more, which made it so you couldn't reach anything. You couldn't get up the ramp on the left side. I think a lot of that is due to the low expo vendor room power situation. Yes. Yeah, that always occurs. I played it. I honestly found it quite boring. I thought it was kind of cool. I was watching some of the gameplay. And I kind of thought it was better than Black Hole. No, no. But if you want to see the gameplay, you can check out my YouTube channel. I didn't put it on the Slam Tilt one. I have it on my own, Gizmonic YouTube channel. But if you just look up Crawl Pinball now, probably one of the first hits you'll find. So we finally got a high def video of the gameplay. I don't know. I just found it boring. He just kept waiting for the shot that would activate the lower play field, which it's got a full lower play field, but then it has like a magnifying effect on there, so it looks like a Stewie mini play field size. You've got to stick your head right up to it to see the whole thing. Yes. And I don't know. It just didn't do it for me at all, I must say. Wow. And the thing I thought was the highlight was the sound. You basically thought the polar opposite. It played great in the sound song. I think the sound was good and the play sucked. Yeah, no, I didn't think it was that good. Really? I didn't. But I don't like any of the sounds. How about Spirit? That's okay. Hold on for two seconds. Hold on. Yeah, you've got to answer that phone, Bruce. I do. So, Bruce just got off the phone. Yes, I did. So, yeah, I don't mind Spirit. It's okay. Just, you know, eh. Wow. We have definitely completely different views on said game. It's Gottlieb. That's true. But you like Kroll. I don't. So that was Kroll. Let's see. What else do I have? A lot of homebrews. Homebrews galore. They had a whole row of homebrews. We had the medieval madnesses there, like new medieval madnesses with the larger display, which did not exist when they originally made those. Yep. So, Bruce, how would you feel if you had one of the original ones? I do have one of the original ones. Oh, that's right. So how do you feel that you don't have that large display? I can get it. Yeah, but doesn't it cost a lot of money? No, actually, here's the funny thing. They got the pricing out today. The color DMD, I have the color done on mine. So when you first got one of those, the original MMRs or MMR LEs, it was just regular monochrome color. And then you had to pay extra for the color upgrade, which is still at $399. And it was also, didn't it upgrade the video to the higher quality, like the new animations, the new graphics? Yes, it did. Yeah, so most people did buy that already. So if you want, you can get the topper, which you saw at Expo, and many people have passed out the picture of that. How much do you think that topper is? $500. How about $600? Yeah. Now, the extra large display with the premium enhanced sound system upgrade, which is comboed. You have to get both that and the color HD. Oh, really? Okay. So you have to get the sound upgrade along with the big display. And the color, the color that we talked about before, the $399 one. Since I already have the $399 color display, you have to then go for the display and the sound system. How much do you think that is for the big display and the nice backlit speakers and better sound? Well, you made it sound like it wasn't much, so $200. $649. $649. Then why you bother? Why bother? Okay, but hold on. And then you can also get the RGB general illumination upgrade kit for $249. Oh, my. But if you go by what the cost of the Royal Edition is, which comes with everything, it is $99.99. So $9,999. So if you add all those things up with your original MMR LE, you're still not up to that price. Okay. Good point. So I'm still winning. You're still winning. Bruce is always winning. Yes. So the regular Classic Edition is now $7,999, which was the LE price before. The special edition price is $9,000, which comes with the extra large display, stainless trim color, color upgrade HD, improved HD sound system, the RGB illumination, and the backboard lighting, which is really nice. Doesn't come with the topper, doesn't come with the side mirrors, and doesn't come with the shaker motor. For an extra $1,000, you get the shaker motor, the topper, and the side mirrors. And everything is trimmed in black diamond. Oh, well, that's a Kiss song, so that's a guarantee. Black Diamond! That's right, Bruce. It's a Kiss song, so you must skip that game. So, Gene, did you already sue Chicago Gaming Company? Yes, I have sued them for using the name Black Diamond. I thought you would. Yep. It turns out I don't actually own the rights to that name. I thought you did. Well, only as a song. Oh, I thought you copyrighted everything for everything. No, no, no. That's before I had better legal representation, Bruce. Oh, Gene, very disappointed in you. Oh, maybe I should go in chronological order. So I arrived on Thursday, checked in, and was there. I only got there like an hour before my shift was to begin. So I got checked in, got my press pass, ate some food, set the banner up, went into my booth. And everyone flocked you. At least two or three people that I already know came up to me and said, oh, hi, Ron, and talked for a little while. One of them was my dad. So at least it looked like someone was talking to me at my booth. There you go. Let's see. What did I do after that? Then I went to the vendor room, and I went straight for the crawl. There you go. Because I wanted to make sure it didn't break again. Yes. Remember my story I tell all the time is I did see a crawl once. It was at a party I went to, and it broke 10 minutes before I got there. Excellent. So guess what? I'm in line to play crawl. And it breaks. It broke right before I was going to play it, yeah. They had to fix the drop targets. I'm like, no! You have got to be kidding me! But they fixed it. So I played Crawl, and I perused around and was like, this is the most rooms they've ever used for Expo that I can remember. They had the free play room in the usual spot, the vendor room in the usual spot, but the tournament was not in the hallway like it usually was. the tournament was in another room along with the Marco booth and all the Stern games. And I mean tons of the new Stern games. Tons. Sternament. Sternament, you mean? I don't even mean the Sternament. Yeah, that was there. But this was the Marco booth. They had like 20 Elviras, tons of Jurassic Parks, Deadpool, Beatles, Star Wars, every edition. Then you had yet another room that had like, I think they were using it for the auction. but they had a bunch of games in there, and that's where the Spanish games were, which we'll get to. And then they had other rooms, like satellite rooms for repair. They had a room that was like the haunted house thing, where supposedly you would go in and they would have games, like haunted themes, and people would try to scare you while you were playing or something. Okay. Which I didn't do that. Sorry. I failed. The Spanish games were interesting. oh yes very interesting they were all they're all rob berks games i guess some of them he got just before the show yeah he did a lot of them were not working some of them were one of them the backbox was down the whole show so i didn't get actually get to see what the hell it looked like but they had all these games i have never heard of at all and some of the art packages on these things yeah they had a game that had okay the one back glass had three completely naked women riding dragons. Nice. Cool. Wild. Then they had another game called Wolfman. They talked about this on Head to Head, where you have another nude woman staring at this completely ripped dude with his junk there, but it was kind of dark, so you couldn't see the junk, with a wolfman head. He looked like Algar, if he got totally ripped on steroids. Algar's brother. Okay, go ahead. Algar's brother, and the game had these extra handle so you can move the entire play field. Nice. Like self-nudging. It sounded nice, but it really didn't affect the ball as much as you would think, which because of these large knobs, they had to make the flipper buttons huge so you could still reach them. Gotcha. Yeah, and I filmed all this. This is also, if you search for Spanish games at Pinball Expo, you will find all these games. Yes. So check it out on YouTube. I was playing some of these games with Fred Cochran of Papa. Yes, sir. And I'm there. You know, they really wanted to piss people off. They should use these games in the women's tournament. Wow. That would really piss people off. Sorry, sorry. It's just a joke. It's just a joke. It's okay. They had a Sonic Pole position, which I never heard of, because they made EMs, and then they kind of died. But it looks like they made some games in the mid-'80s, and this was one of them. Yes. It has like a Marlboro advertisement on one of the slingshots, which is interesting. It has two repeatable, it's got like a loop shot like Vegas. Remember that game? Yes. In the same spot almost. And then it has a repeatable ramp loop shot on the right side. Okay. So I was liking that game. And it played like a Sonic, i.e. fast. Yes. These are all like from the mid-80s for the most part. I'm trying to think. They had another one called, I thought it said Terror Lake, but it was actually Terrific Lake. But I think maybe they screwed up their English translation because it was definitely a horror-themed thing. It had a woman with her bikini bathing suit falling off in a lake with monsters about to attack her. Yeah. And then there was, what else did they have? Oh, they had a clown game that looked as creepy as most clown games look. Of course. Clowns are just very, very creepy. Then they had a Spanish Sonic Gamatron. Yes, yes, yes, yes. That was the highest level. That was like, wow. I had to tell Ron it was there. Yeah, somehow I missed it. I'll probably never see that again. Yeah, I've only seen one, and it was in parts. Yeah, this one is Sonic Cabinet. It had the Sonic apron, but it did have the, was it Pinstar? Whatever the name of Gary's company was. Pinstar. It had that, the logo on there. But it had the Sonic flippers, so it didn't have the bally flippers on it. It had these square pop-upper caps. Very, very cool. Yes, I thought it looked really good. The only issue is you could not see any of the inserts. Like, I don't know, the lights just weren't bright enough. You had to, like, stare at them to see which lights were out. It needed LEDs. Yeah, I said this needs LEDs. Or maybe proper voltage or something. Maybe there's wrong bulbs. Who knows? Let's see. I'm trying to think of anything else in that room. There was a Monopoly in there that was in really nice shape. It was one of the auction ones. I was like, hmm, this would be a good thing to put a little bit on if you want a nice pinball machine, a fun game, although grindy. everything worked on it played good uh they had terminator 3 there where the rpg actually worked shoot yeah and yeah yeah as soon as i saw that i saw the rpg worked and you could actually hit everything it's like okay i gotta get the final battle it took me two games but i did get the final battle yep they had a star wars home edition but it wouldn't start it's a start button and it wouldn't start. Hummer. That was that room. Free play room was a lot of Rob Burke's games and a lot of other people's games. They had Phoebe had her corner as usual. Yes, as always. She does great job. The high end games. She always brings the Varkon and the Joust. This year was Gottlieb. You're going to love it. They had a gladiators there, a deadly weapon. Mm-hmm. They had a spirit there that was probably the floatiest spirit I've ever played. Mm. Yeah. They had a Quicksilver there, played good. And we had a, oh, I decided to play this game. Oh, no. Even though it's the one I picked in our contest, even though I'd never played it. And that is Popeye. Yes, folks, I had never played a Popeye before. And? It kind of sucks. It really does suck. You can't see the ball half the time. Nope The boat thing obscures a good portion of the play field Yep I played a bunch of games on that I tried to give it a chance I think it might have been broke though When the ball goes up to the upper play field where the boat is aren't the flippers supposed to, like, work? Yes. Yeah, they didn't. They didn't do anything. So it's typical Popeye. I kept trying to hit that thing on the right side to go up the elevator or whatever the hell it is thing to get up to the boat so I could see what would happen. And when I finally did and I'm flipping and the flippers didn't do anything. Do the flippers activate when you're up there or are they always on? No, they activate when they go up there because what happens is when you get to that out hole where it kicks it up, the CPU switches it. The out hole. You mean the scoop? The VUC, actually. The VUC, yeah. Not the out hole. Get your terms right, Bruce. My VUC. Are you a noob? Come on. Don't use the wrong terms. The funny thing is a lot of the Spanish games, you know how I was. get upset when they have pinball as two words. Like they do at Expo every year, they would go like, pinball! And they'd have it like as two words. All the Spanish games have it as two words. Maybe they're correct. Maybe they are. They know better. Let's see, what else did I play in there that was interesting? They're all Rob Burke's games, so a lot of them were just, you know, they're holdovers from last year. Same games. Okay. Let's see, what else did I do on Thursday? I don't think I did much else on Thursday. Oh, no. Okay, one thing I wanted to bring up. I visited Mr. Franchi. Ooh. And he gave me a poster. What did he give me a poster of? The Expo poster. Oh. Which is, like, on super thick paper. It's not like the usual, like, thin. I was worried about actually rolling this up and damaging it, but I did manage to get it home. So thank you, Mr. Franchi, for the poster. I think that might be it for Thursday. Then Friday, I decided to do something I've never done before, Bruce. You know what that is? Which was? Take an Uber. Ooh, Uber's are fun. I have never taken an Uber before. Yeah, not that bad. Everyone's probably like, really? You've never taken an Uber? Well, Ron's never seen half the movies that we talk about, so what does that tell you? Shut up. I had an invite to the Power 100 at Josh Harf's house. The commentate, I'm assuming? No. Because you're not that good. You had an invite, too. Well, you're not that good to play in the... Oh, I get it. You're insulting me. Yes. There you go. You're finally picking up on it. Yeah, I picked up on it the first time. Yeah, that's the ticket. Yeah. I had the app installed. I linked the payment, all that crap. So it's like, okay, let's give this a try. So it's like, okay, I'm at the hotel. I need to go to this address here. Okay, it's going to cost this much. All right. Your ride will be there in a minute. Like, whoa, okay. Go run it downstairs. No, I'm in the lobby. I walk outside. The car is pulling up. There you go. Wow, that's pretty nice. That's ridiculous. How is that even possible? Must be sitting there at the hotel. Well, it was. That's where they usually sit, so many people. Well, she was a she. It's like, are you Ron? Yep. Boom, off we go. So we go to Wizard of Oz? What? Yep. So I go to Josh Sharpe's house. Were you allowed to go past the velvet? Yeah, I was allowed to get in. I paid my dollar because everyone wants to pay a dollar to get into the house. It's the IPA rules. Yeah, so I just checked out his collection. I think I only played one game the whole time I was there, and that was Demoman. I told him he needed Soren's Rob, and he needs to turn his claw back on. Ah, yes, he can do that. But let's see. And what happened is Ryan, from Akama Pinball, after he was eliminated, me and him, we got Josh's Monster Bash down in his basement. His new one? His new one. There you go. and put the topper on it. The topper comes in like a crate. It's like ridiculous. Yeah. Put the thing on. I mean, the topper was so bright, it would like reflect onto the play field. It was almost distracting. But the interesting thing is we didn't have to do anything. Like it was pretty much level without any adjusting, and it played perfect. Like didn't have to do a thing to it. Perfect. Then I came back to the hotel in time to – well, actually, I had a later shift that day. So then I just started checking out some more of the rooms. I'm looking at my notes here, like what the hell did I do? I met Crystal, Crystal of the Riptide Pinball Podcast, and Ashley, who we've had on our show from Rochester. She was there helping Marco out with the Marco room. Yep, working the booths. I went into the Stern room finally and started playing some of the Stern games. Played a bunch of Deadpool. Oh, I love Deadpool. Made sure I got a lot of games on the premium. So you're going to buy that? We'll see. We'll see. I had discussions with Josh about the IPA pricing. So they seem very reasonable. Yes, they are. I'm trying to think. Other than the disco ball in the left loop that comes all the way around, what else does the premium have? Different artwork. Different translate. Yeah, other than that. Like actual mechs. I think, actually, more balls, if I remember correctly. Let's see. Does it have more balls, Bruce? Yes. Oh, my. I'm just trying to quantify the premium over the pro. I play Beatles. Still love Beatles. You would get the dead mixtape cassette with the 11 original music tracks. Wait a minute. It comes with the cassette, the premium? Yes, it does. Yes, it does. Okay. So I'd have to find a cassette player, being that I don't have one. Yep. You get a molded Wolverine action figure with Spotlight. You get a Chimichanga time truck machine in there. You get the Dazzler action figure with Spotlight. You get the left orbit shot feeds right flipper via actuated up and down ramp. Which is cool. You get the three bank drop target ball lock featuring little Deadpool target. It already has a drop. Oh, it has drop targets instead of stand-ups for the dead in the pool. You also get the Snicket Ramp Ricochet Target. Say that again. Snicket Ramp Ricochet Target. Two spinner targets, Dazzler and Wolverine. You also get the Blue Megalodon artwork. You get the Premium Translite and Powder Coated Steel Bottom Arch. That's what you get for your premium. We'll see. We'll see. I got to play Elvira. So you know what my impressions were of that game? They better never use it in a tournament. Yeah. Because it is way, way too easy. It plays long. First two games I played, I got like 110 million, and then I got like 90-something million. I got to the mini wizard mode when you get halfway through the house, like both games. It is literally hard to miss shots in that game. I mean, it shoots great. but it's just everything is easy to hit. I mean, I think I see where they're going with the code, and it's going to be great for home use. It's going to make homeowners really happy, I think. I really love the old movies. It actually has three movies that were in Mystery Science Theater. I thought there were only two. It has Manos, The Hands of Fate, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, and Teenagers from Outer Space. And you have no idea what this means, but I never thought in my life I'd play a pinball machine where I'd hit shots and it would be making the Torgo theme over and over. That made me smile. It sounds like you've got to get that fixed with your Torgo. What? You said the Torgo sound. I don't want you making a weird Torgo sound. But, I mean, it was fun. It was super fun. I would definitely call this, this was the Elvira Expo. Because they had, I don't know, 20 Elviras. It was an insane amount of Elviras they had there. And then they had Elvira there herself. Yes. Well, as Cassandra Peterson. As Cassandra Peterson. Yeah. If they paid more, they could have gotten her. If they paid more, you could get Elvira, but yeah. They didn't. Yeah. Fail. Between her appearance fee and the $40 to $80 autograph things she was getting, she made a killing. She was saying fucking suckers. She made a killing because she was there for Friday and Saturday, and I think she was in there just signing autographs for like two hours both days. And then she played her own game on stream. The Jack Danger stream, yep. Jack Danger, yep. And the bodyguard was cool. Yeah, this big freaking dude's like, okay, that's got to be the bodyguard. No one's screwing with that dude. Probably the biggest surprise for me was a game that I found very fun. I did not expect that to occur. So they had a row of the three Star Wars games. They had the premium and pro with the new comic book art, which looks vastly superior. Oh, I know. I love it. It's so much better. Because I used to collect the comic books back in the 80s and the 70s from him, and it was incredible. It's so much better. Oh, I know. It actually makes me almost want to buy the game. Oh, my goodness. Oh, you heard it. I'm not editing that out. I'm leaving it in. It's like almost. I would say if I were to get one, it would definitely be pro. Yeah, definitely. Because the premium, I mean, I really like the Supercharger, but it just makes the desk. You can't backhand the Death Star shot now. Yeah. But next to those two Star Wars games was the Star Wars Home Edition. Which I've heard good things about. Damn, it was fun. Yeah. I was surprised. Well, I heard from multiple people that it shot good, and it does. But even little old me could figure out the rule set. Wow, that's amazing. You assemble the four characters. It's the same four characters as the other Star Wars game. There's a Death Star multiball. The more characters you assemble before you get to the Death Star multiball, the more it's worth. See, makes sense. If you get all four characters, the flippers go down. It does some kind of frenzy mode where you get like 75 seconds to just hit stuff to try to complete all the shots. And then you hit the force targets to add time. And I actually finished. I finished the wizard mode. Nice. Yeah. Wow, you're like getting better at pinball. Yeah, it's still to get my name up. That's the problem with Expo. The players there are so ridiculous. Like, I would put up scores that I think are awesome, and I'm not even on the board. Because I guess I suck. Yeah, it was surprisingly fun. I don't know about the lockdown bar. It's like plastic. It's like multiple pieces, and I could literally feel it separating as I'm playing. And as hard as I hit the flipper buttons, I could see this being a problem holding up over time. you can see other things they did like you know both slings fire at the same time to save on the um the note the amount of boards they need in there yeah they used it's probably the same the same target as metallica where they have like the single target that's large that you hit but you know so instead of five force targets there's one target but you hit it five times yeah but it played good i i was totally into it it's like i could totally see for a newbie if you didn't want to pay a lot of money, to me, this was a viable option. Yeah. Totally viable, 100%. Sold. Buy, buy, buy. It's buy, buy, buy. Are you going to get on the show? Are you going to be on TWIP anytime soon? I think he's afraid of me. He actually made a comment in the last show. Yeah, he did. He did. Yeah, he was afraid. I think he's afraid. I think Dennis Creasel asked him, like, when are you going to get Bruce on? I don't know. That might be a little weird. It might be a little hard. I think he's afraid of me because I think he's afraid of the challenge of, first, what you have to do every week, corral me. Second, his knowledge not being up to snuff. Well, it's cuss and bullying, too. I mean, you're not going to take that. Oh, of course not. That would be. You'll be bullying him by the end of the episode. He'll be asking for mercy from you. Yeah, mercy. What was I talking about? Star Wars. Yeah, so Star Wars is cool. let's see I did like the premium art better because it's more Empire yeah I agree I gotta go with the Empire always gotta go with the Empire the tournament was in the Marco room and it was the typical sternament and my god did it go long way too long way too long way too long. We learned that Black Knight, Sword of Rage, Premium or LE should never be used in a tournament. Again, sorry, Tim. Ever. It's just the playfield. It's that upper playfield. They would just get it up there, and it would stay up. It was like me and you playing it at California Extreme. Wait a sec, wait a sec. We could never stage balls like they were saying. Oh, yeah. But it was like me and you playing Black Knight 2000 at California Extreme, where we played the game for an hour until we just didn't want to play anymore. God, this is so boring. So, I mean, they ran so long. The main tournament was supposed to end Saturday night. They decided to give up after a certain point, and they finished it on Sunday morning. Yep. Black Knight, Sword of Rage Pro, you can use. Premium and LE, no. You cannot use it. Just upper play field, just no. It just doesn't work. It just, no. Sorry, folks. However, there was one thing about Black Knight, Sword of Rage, that was unveiled. The topper. The topper. Now, when Black Knight Sword of Rage came out, if you remember originally on Coast to Coast, the interview with Steve Ritchie where he talked about the topper that was coming and how it was going to be the greatest topper ever and all the stuff it was going to do. And I remember listening to this thinking, well, if it does all the shit he says it's going to do, it is going to be the greatest topper of all time. You know what? It does. It's the greatest topper of all time. And bar none, it's un-fucking-real, this thing. Fully animatronic head that moves pretty much full 360. It can nod, shake its head, make circles, and it follows the ball. It talks to you just like the one on the play field, but it is freaky. You had crowds surrounding the game looking at the topper. They weren't even watching the game. They were watching the topper. You forgot the most important thing. What did I forget? You forgot the most important thing. What's the most important thing, Bruce? It's going to beat Star Wars Topper. Yes. It's going to be out before the Star Wars Topper. Yes. It was absolutely amazing. And not just the head. It has like the flame things also. It does a bunch of lighting effects. It was like, holy shit. Honestly, to be honest, it's too good. It's way better than it ever needs to be because, especially if you have this in your house and you're just playing the game, you're never going to see this thing because you're not going to keep looking up to look at the topper. Nope. Only people waiting for you to finish are going to see the topper. It almost seems like it's just too good. Like something that good should have been on the play field somewhere. Mm-hmm. Wouldn't it be too bad? Now I have a question for you, sir, on the sidetrack for two seconds. On the sidetrack. Okay. Sidetrack. On the sidetrack. Another Bruce-ism. Yes, sidetrack. Mm-hmm. Are you going to the Sanctum? Well, yeah, aren't you? Yes. Where are you staying? A hotel room. No shit, Sherlock. Where? It's got a bed and everything. Wow, congratulations there, folks. Let me guess, you don't have a room yet? Not at all. Okay, let me see what I got. I'm trying to remember if I got dual beds or not. Oh. Did I say dual beds? Twin beds? You said dual. You did a Bruce. I did a Bruce. Dual beds. What the hell does that even mean? Sanctum. Let's see. I am staying at the Extended Stay America. Woo! Do-do-do! And where does it say what kind of room I have? Let's see. Uh, da-da. One room. Oh, no. It's a single queen bed, Bruce. Oh, we'll be happy with that. I'm sorry. I'll have to look somewhere else. But where's the name of the place? Extended Stay? Extended Stay America. Same where I stayed last year. Extended Stay America, Hartford. Oh, you're up there, though. Mm-hmm. If I had known that, you should have told me. I would have just got dual beds. I would have said, but you know what? I don't know, Bruce. I will need my sleep. No, I sleep fine. And if you fall asleep before I do, which you always do, then I'll just have to listen to the loudest snoring ever when I need to get a good night's sleep before the frigging 24 hour. Okay, you're guilting me into it. What's the name of the town that they're in? Meriden? Meriden. Meridian. Meridian, Connecticut. So where was I? Oh, Topper. Yeah, so the topper, incredible, greatest topper ever made, bar none, Black Knight, Sword of Rage topper. It just reminds me of the animatronic, like, you know, like the fortune tellers and stuff when they move. Yep. It's that kind of movement. So that was Friday. Also hung out with some of the media crew in their hotel room. Talked about a bunch of stuff that I can't say on the air. It was fun. Ooh. Ooh, yeah, yeah. The next five games, all that stuff. No. No. No. Even they don't know. We don't know. We don't know anything. Everyone thinks we have all this insider info. We don't have a damn thing. Maybe I do. Okay. I said hi to Timmy. Timmy. Timmy. He was there. Ashley and Timmy actually got to announce the women's final. Ooh. I think it was Friday night. Nice. So that was on Carl D'Python Anghelo's stream. Hi, Carl. Hi, Carl. I almost forgot that he was doing the stream. So he had the mobile rig or the mobile PC there and all that. But he had the green screen and all this other stuff. It was cool. That's cool. Yeah. Let's see. What else happened Friday other than staying up late? That was about it. And to be honest, I'll tell you, at this point, two days is about my limit. Oh, definitely. The third day, I'm sitting there going, get me out of here. Yeah, it's like so much different. The first couple years there, when I had two or three games, there was no scene whatsoever. I'd have to go like minimum three hours to play anything. You would go to like the big shows for me. It would be like Allentown, Expo, maybe Papa as a tournament. These were some of the only places I would get to play this many games. so I couldn't get enough now that I played everything except of course all the Spanish games I had never played but mostly everything it's just like after the second day I'm done and I know some people actually left Saturday morning to get back but there was Saturday which let's see what happened Saturday let me get my notes out I don't think I have any more notes oh I did play I played Celts by the Haggis guys, who are both listeners, Bruce. I'm telling you, we have Australia. We have the Australian market. We do. I think we have more than head-to-head does. No, because now they're only half Australian. I'll tell you, I'd like to hang out in Australia. I think I want to, too. The Australians, man, they don't take shit seriously. They all have fun. They always seem to be in a good mood. I love it. I wish it could be like that in America. America. America. So I played Celts. It was very purple. Very purple, purplish art. The artwork was of a style I've never seen before on a game that I can recall. And it's like you are, you can pick clans. You can be a member of a clan. One of the clans, guess what one of the clans was called? I think it was the name of the clan. Bruce. Not kidding. I'm scrolling through the options, and it's like, Bruce. Like, what? Maybe they need to have my voice in there. Oh, my God. No. No. Aye. Aye. Arr. No, that's a pirate. No, you gotta go, aye. Aye, matey. No, that's a pirate. I can't get out of the pirate voice. I'm sorry. Aye. How you be doing there? Yes. You gotta think of the leprechaun. Oh, the Necricon. Oh, yeah. No, no, it's Scottish, not Irish. So it's a single-level play field, two orbits, left and right. It has, like, a center shot that's very reminiscent of Silver Ball Mania, like the horseshoe. Yes. And played that, made some suggestions, because they were looking for suggestions. I noticed something that one other person noticed, so it wasn't just me. I have fairly small hands. Oh, my. Yeah, I knew you'd make a comment. So the flipper buttons were not in the usual spot. Ah too low down I had to kind of reach for them which I noticed immediately because it seems like no matter what the manufacturer is the flipper buttons are usually always in the same spot Yes they are So they had one other person that also noticed that, so they think their template might be off. Their back glass, they kind of did a one-piece back glass, like, speaker panel thing, kind of like Circus Voltaire. Mm-hmm. Which I'm surprised more people don't do because it's like this thin piece that you can just put all the custom art on, so you wouldn't have to do art for the speaker panel and the back glass. I mean, you could just do it in one shot and just slap it on there. I don't know how much it's going to sell in this country. Maybe it'll sell a lot in Australia. I mean, it's cheaper. It's not like the, what was the Mafia, $6,500? Yeah. Whatever it was. This was like $5,200 something. That's a good thing. So we'll see how it goes. I'm sure the software, what is it? You could either play, like you have clan battles, or you could do like Scottish game stuff. So that was Celts. And a shout out to the Haggis Pinball guys. Come on, Bruce, more emotion. I haven't seen it, so I'm not going to give emotion. I told you that now from now on. You're not going to give emotion? Emotion. No, I'm just saying shout out to the Haggis guys. Can you say, yeah, guys? No? Hey. What a dick. Okay. So let's see what else. As I go through my list here, we have Crawl, Media Events, Spanish Gamatron. Oh, well, my dad, as usual, is making the rounds. For those who don't know, my dad is the, like, I'm the introvert who doesn't talk to anyone. He is the opposite. He talks to everyone. So, you know, he's talking to Steve Ritchie. He's talking to, you know, everybody. He's talking to Andrew, the new Stern director of quality control, you know, the new guy they hired. Okay. After the play field. Issues. He brings them over to my media area when I was manning the media booth. Okay. And he's listened to one of our episodes. Good. He listened to one of our episodes as preparation for his Stern interview. Oh, Preparation H. How do you like that? We are prepping people for Stern interviews, Bruce. Wow. Did you ever think you'd hear that? No. No. Preparation H, no. So I told him, like, you know, if I get a dead pool, I'm not going to have any issues with the play field, right? he gave me his card it was cool so deadpool is in the future uh probably it's probably in the future it's a good game it's just too damn fun it is way too fun it is way too fun especially and and i'm not even getting the full fun experience because of all the extra noise if i just had that with the sound cranked up by myself it's going to be even better uh let's see the tournament I think the finals, it was all four finalists were under 18. Yep, so we're screwed. Yeah. So the finals, I think it ended up Escher Lefkoff versus Alexander Kizmarchik. Yep. With, I believe in the finals, Escher played like a one-hour ball of Black Knight Sword of Rage. Yep. And then a 10-minute game of Jurassic Park. Yeah, then he made a 10-minute game of Jurassic Park, and yeah. And then Escher won. Yes. and um oh on saturday i finally got to play some more uh jurassic park and it's awesome it is awesome it is definitely one of those like i couldn't hit any shots at the beginning you got to get used to where the shots are oh yeah but once you do once you do then you start hitting the combos and you're like oh yeah oh baby i have a question though i think i don't know if this is a pro thing i was specifically playing the premium because i played your pro yes when you hit the smart missile shot that goes through the pop bumpers, there's actually a gate there so it doesn't roll back through. Yes. I don't remember that on the Pro. No, it is. It is? Oh, yes. I totally don't remember that. If I remember correctly, yes. Because I don't see a ball coming out of there. That's the thing. When it's up in that pop bumper section, it always goes to the right orbit. It always goes there, so I know the gate's there. I just don't remember that. I failed once again. Yes, you have. I'm good at failing yes you are let's see did I leave anyone out Elvira, Deadpool Jurassic Park, Keltz let's see I went to the Jersey Jacks seminar and that's the thing there were no reveals there folks no reveals nobody I didn't expect there to be any reveals when I saw when Jersey Jacks seminar was I knew they weren't going to unveil anything you don't unveil a game Saturday night no you would do a Thursday night And then everyone would talk about it for the next three days. Yeah, or Friday night at the latest, the latest, because you would debut it, and then you would bring it into the vendor hall, and then there would be a line to play it. Yes, and then they couldn't hit anything with it because the flippers would be too weak. Yeah, it would play fine in the seminar room, and then they would move into the vendor room, and you wouldn't be able to hit anything. Yep. The typical pattern. It was a fun expo. Definitely one of the best expos I went to. I'd say the expo definitely seems to be an upward swing. And it's in that happy zone. there's more games, there's more stuff there, but the crowds haven't totally caught on yet, so you can still get on things. Nice. You know, like Thursday and Friday, the games are maybe one deep line, so you can pretty much play anything quickly, as opposed to, say, like Texas, where you're going to stand in line for everything. So it's kind of in that happy zone. You know what I mean? Kind of like California Extreme was, and then it just kept getting more and more crowded, so you just couldn't get on anything. and then you couldn't even physically get across the hall anymore. Yeah. So that was Expo 2019. A good time had by all. A good time had by all. So you said you had some stuff. I do. What do you have for us, Bruce? First, don't forget, Pinball Profile. Their world tour is going on. Are you going to the one in the Sanctum the day before? Yes. Okay, I am not because I'm going to be driving there at that time. But they're going to have a tournament there. And they're going to have a little tournament up in the old East Rochester. They are. I think we mentioned this already, but yes. And sign-ups are available. We're only doing 48 people, so if you want to get in on it, I think there's only a couple spots left. And the day before Friday, we're having a tournament here, a pre-tournament. Wait a minute. The day before Friday. That's wrong. That would be Thursday. Okay, sorry, the day before Saturday. There you go. We're having a pre-tournament. A pre-tournament. So it's not actually a tournament then? It's the pre-tournament to the big tournament. So it's a pre-tournament tournament. Tournament, tournament, tournament. Okay. And it's going to be a three to four strikes tournament, depending on how many people join in. It's $5 to play. Come on out beforehand. Get your hands on a game before anyone else does. I may be there for that one. Ooh, I hope so, because we need a world-famous Ron Hall in there. Because I have to drive back, because the Varney Cup. No, you don't. Shut up. You're winning this thing. The Varney Cup, which all the 518ers, all the Capital Region players are going to converge at level zero Saturday. Just give them the keys. Just give them the keys and let them know. I've already committed to playing, Bruce, because I think I have the most points in the area. You're committed, all right. So that's coming up. And if you want more information on that, you go to Pinball Profile. There is a link also on our Facebook page for the Silver Ball Saloon. Like us on Silver Ball Saloon Facebook page. Find all the happenings that goes on at the Silver Ball Saloon. All the happenings. And the Jersey Jacks seminar. What's happening? The Jersey Jacks seminar I completely forgot to actually mention. They just went over Willy Waka. They brought out two of the collector edition ones. Yes. And just went over the design. Kind of like they did the previous year when they went over the dialed in. Yeah. I think, no, that was Lawler's seminar last year. He went over dialed in. So I think the main announcement was the collector edition and that the Jersey Jack games are going to be on the Internet. They're going to be able to update themselves. And what was the other one? You're going to have Bluetooth headphones. They use Bluetooth for the sounds. Yes. Ooh. Yeah, that's cool. I can't really plug the Varney Cup because it's invite only. You've got to be one of the elite players in the 518 to play in the Varney Cup. So four people are in it or five? Shut up. You're so mean. We're an up-and-coming area, man. You don't want me and Zach coming out there. Well, Zach, he could play both sides, really. He could. You know, he grew up in the 518, but he lives in Rochester, so technically, you know, I'm just saying. You don't want us to come out there and just wreck havoc on you. Oh, just wreck havoc? You mean wreak havoc? No, wreck. Wreck havoc. We'd wreck everyone. You would wreck havoc. Yep. I'm going to write that down. Wreck Havoc. That could be a title. I think that's going to be the title. I think that's going to be the title. You said you had a segment that we haven't had in a while. Would you or would you not buy that? Oh, goody. Goody, goody, goody. Hold on. Let me get my browser up. I'm so excited. But we're going to use a little bit of different sound effects. We're going to go buy, buy, buy. Sell, sell, sell. So we're going to rip off other people's shows again? Yes, of course. Okay. For those out there, this is when you go to eBay, and that's eBay.com for those at home. And you look up. And you look up a number that Bruce is going to give you. And you see if it's a deal or not a deal. Would you or would you not buy that? Yes. And I have five or six today. Whoa. Okay. I'm ready. I'm ready, Bruce. Okay. ticket number two six four four nine one zero six five four zero seven all right this is in a game this isn't a game first time ever yeah attack from well no you've had non-games on here like the condom dispenser and i was talking about pinball parts okay attack Attack from Mars, pinball driver board, CPU-95 audio video board, all new. So what does this mean, Bruce? So this is somebody who bought and has a CPU, Rotten Dog driver board, and Rotten Dog audio video board for sale on eBay. For U.S. value, it's $840, which is a very good deal for all three parts. So if you have an Attack from Mars up to the last, of course, Cactus Canyon, and you need a board set, like a spare board set, this is the deal for you. Won't there be a security chip, though? No, no, no. That's only WPCS. Wait, so WPC95, they did away with security chips? Yes, they did. Oh, okay. And you swap your chip over for the other stuff, and you're good. So this is a buy, buy, buy! and you might want to explain that this item is in canada it is in canada that's the reason for the uh yeah it's definitely 1100 canadian yes which is 840 dollars and 30 cents buy buy buy oh man okay so he's his own i am my own worst enemy ready for the next one yes 123-808-509-476. Data East Slap Shot Project. Hockey-themed pitch and bat. Wait a minute. Data East made a pitch and bat. Yes, they did. But it's hockey. It's hockey. If you look, it's almost like the Chex guy at the bottom of this thing, and you actually have a goalie in the backbox and you have six targets that spell hockey. All right. And it's a pitching bat. And it's only $600. Buy, buy, buy! No. Let's see. It's missing the play field glass. Which is not bad. You can get that. And the guy that, let's see, and the guy that hits the ball doesn't seem to be working. Which is like a flipper. That's all it is. Oh. So it's not that. Oh, my God. All right. But it's a kind of rare piece. Yeah, I should say so. So for someone into pitching bats who wants, it's got to be like Daddy East's only pitching bat. Yes, it is. They did try different stuff, which was kind of cool back then. More redemption, too. It has a ticket thing on the front. All right. So far, you've given us two items that you might actually buy. Yeah. Nothing we can really make fun of yet, Bruce. No, not yet. Not yet? Oh, wait. Oh, wait. They're coming? Okay. Okay. Okay. 153685916. 5.03. A Bally 8-ball pinball machine. Yep. Let's see the pictures. Okay. We have inside the backbox. New CPU, all tech. Mm-hmm. We have manuals. We have extra rubbers. Rubbers, coils. Coils. And it's got the coils with the metal sleeves in them. Those are the best ones. Yeah, okay. The play field's got some wear. It's got a bad display on number four, probably just the connector. $1,200. Yeah. Hmm. I'd make him an offer. Offer him seven or eight. Yeah, because the shipping, you don't want to do the shipping. $4 or $50. No, no, no. So that is a, if you get it for, I'd make an offer. Make an offer. Make an offer. See, we got a new sound effect for it. Make an offer. Okay. What would you like now, Ron? nostalgic or different? Nostalgic. Okay. 2-5-4 3-5-7 2-0-0 6-5-9 Gridiron Fight. It's a one-half player cocktail football arcade game. Oh, this is the one with the trackball. Yes. Well, watching Bruce on this was quite entertaining. It was. It's a good game. I got video of this somewhere. Yes, you do. It's on your page. So $500. Yeah, I don't think it's worth that much. And it has the shoes it said also. But I wanted to bring nostalgic back to you. Like, look. Here's the problem. The seller says he's a Bills fan. Yeah, I know. That's a really problem. So that's why I can't buy it. You can't buy it because it's a Bills fan? You got it. So make an offer or no? He doesn't offer or make an offer. He just says buy it now. Okay. so ready for the last one yep one two three nine four zero seven four three eight eight zero vintage old retro williams 1969 seven up electric one player pinball machine usa as is that's a long description yes it is well let's look at this back glass is interesting yeah it's almost at the level of that playboy back glass that literally had like actually this has more this has more art on it this has more art than the one inch of art that was on that back glass yes but yeah this back glass is just toasted it's it's gone the funny thing is the part where it says seven up is actually still there. Yeah, the reds. The red that usually fades first is the only thing that survived. Yes. Let's see. It's got... What's with the weird red thing on the side? Or is that just a sticker? I think it's a sticker. Or maybe they screwed something with it, but on the other side it's got great art. Oh, no, it does not. Let me see. I'm trying to see the other side. It's in the first picture. Oh, yeah, that's trash. It looks like it fell down the stairs. It got scraped. Playfield. The Playfield, surprisingly, at least, well, the one or two pictures with the glass on that exist. Yes. Because, you know, I love that. I know you do. So would you pay $450 for this? God, no. Okay, so you would not buy this. No, this is a no, no, no. No, no, no. I thought I had one more. I do have one more. Oh, you have one more? All right. I'm ready. 1-8-3-9-9-9-2-8-6-8-2-1. Doggies Pinball by Bally, 1968, limited edition, vintage theme, Western America Doggies. What would be limited about it? I don't know. What does that even mean? Okay, let's look. oh it's got the terrible williams artwork of the time yes it does back glass is toasted playfield is very red yes it is it's zipper flippers for you baby is that coin door normal that looks weird it's a european style okay that is actually that is the factory door we saw some when we went out to INDISC. Let's see. And what do they want for this? $1,000. It's in vintage good condition. Vintage good condition. What does that mean? I couldn't tell you, but you have the Devil's Canyon there. Ooh, you got Sneaky Joe out hole. You got the cactus juice. What? The name's on the play field. That sounds like a desert-themed porn. Oh, my. Oh, my. Only 3670 were made. Yeah. That's a decent amount. That's not terrible. There are probably 3,000 Black Knight 2000s made. Exactly. Probably as many Black Knight 2000s as there are this game. Yeah. This is a sell, sell, sell, don't buy it, stay away, run! Yeah. A good old return of an old segment. Luckily, you know, it's a market trend. Oh, God. He's just going to rip off every... He's ripping off other podcasts, folks, if you haven't heard of any of these terms. I wanted to see Dennis' hair grow up on the back of his neck. So, Bruce? Yes, sir? Pick up any games lately? Rushes. Still working on those. And I picked up a game. Yes, I have. Really? What have you picked up? It's an EM. it's got two spinners and it's a four-player Williams. What am I? Oh, Grand Prix. You got it, baby. Is that the only EM you can pick up ever? Yes. I couldn't beat the price. The back glass is perfect. The cabinet is perfect. The play field's got a little wear on it. But for $600? Is it going to work? It works. It works already. It works already because you had one before. Yes, I did. And it didn't work. You gave up. But now we have Zach. Oh, now you have Zach. So do you wish you had your, what was the other one, Argosy back then? No. Oh, Argosy's a good game. I like Argosy, but Gramprick is better. Actually, I like Argosy better, to be honest. No. There, I said it. I said it. I played both. I like Argosy better. I like Spinner. More Spinner, more fun. More Spinner, more fun. Okay. Wait a minute. Doesn't Argosy have a Spinner? One. Yeah. more spinners, more fun. But Hot Tip only has one, and it's awesome. I sold that. That's gone. Well, I picked up a game, Bruce. Yes, you did. I did. Sneaky Pete. Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Yes, I did. The Star Trek Next Gen is now upstairs in the for sale position. It's wrapped up and ready for you, Bruce. Yeah. Yeah, you should have heard Bruce like starting to renege out of his thing after the last podcast. Right off the bat. He's like, oh, what did I just agree to? No. I was thinking about it. Come on, Bruce. It's ready. I can bring it up. You can bring it up. You can bring it up all the time. I'll set up in the bar and you can make half the money off it. No, Bruce. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You can buy it and then I can get my half of the Quicksilver or your half of the Quicksilver and it's all mine and then we'll be great. Come on. We talked about this last episode. What's the problem? Hmm. No? See, folks, this is what, you know, just listen to the last episode. He was just like, boom, I'm in, and the second we go off the air, he starts reneging. Yep. I'm very disappointed in you, Bruce. Thank you very much. So you wouldn't mind if I just put this thing for sale then? No, I wouldn't. But, but. He still wants that Quicksilver. Yeah, I still want that Quicksilver. You gave me an out to get the Quicksilver, man. You still have backup. If I get the one that I'm trying to get from the person who's a pain in the ass. Wow. I sure he knows that I been busting his balls every day about it Yeah Once it makes it across the pond Yeah Then we will trade heads up for Quicksilver and Dragon Fist We will... Huh? You own half of Dragon Fist. Oh, I keep forgetting that. How much do I own it? I don't even remember how much I own in that game or how much I paid. It's almost even. It would be $200 my way. But I picked up a game, Bruce. Or should I say, Zach actually picked it up at York for me. Yeah, so what was it? Was it pre-sold or pre-bought or no? Yeah, it was pre-bought, yes, by me. I'm a part of the club now, the Black Rose Club. Yep, you finally got on the smart moves of it all, and I've owned two. Of course, you've owned multiples of every game ever. I think I have. Yeah. Why don't you have a Black Rose now? I sold it to Zach. Wait a minute, that's his? Oh, I didn't know that. There you go. See? Was that the one that used to be at your house with the black cannonballs in it, or was that the other one? That's a different one. That was the other one. Yes. That's the one I picked up in North Carolina. That's the one you picked up after we won pinball, playing lots of Black Rose. I'm like, I've got to get a Black Rose. Yep, and I got it. I had it for six months, and I got bored of it. Okay, Bruce, I'm going to take you on a trip down memory lane. I was searching for something on Rec Games Pinball, the old news group, and I found a post. And it's, I'm sure there's a lot of people who don't know like what specific day that they met, but I can now say without question, I know the exact day that I met you. The first time I saw your face. He doesn't know what to say to that one. Here's a post, May 21st, Rochester, New York, pinball and arcade party. Bruce Nightingale, I am going to have another party in Victor right outside of Rochester on the 21st of May. It's going to start around, hold on, we'll get to that. It's going to start around 5 p.m. This will be considered a combo party because I have about the same number of videos to pins. That's how old this is. A link to our Yahoo group, which probably is not around anymore. It still is. Oh, it is? It is. Let's see what Bruce had then. The lineup for the party. Are you ready? I'm ready. Next gen. Twilight Zone. Black Knight 2000. Creature from the Black Lagoon. Scared Stiff. Lord of the Rings. That might be the only one you still have. Nope, here comes the other one. Monopoly. I actually still have Creature. Oh, really? The same one? Yep. Where is it? At my dad's house. My dad has it. Safe Cracker, a Puck Bowler, a Dart Machine, I believe it was a dedicated Space Ace. It was. Dragon's Lair 1 and 2, Spy Hunter, Hyper Sports, two main machines, one vertical and one horizontal. One of the members is bringing a Joker's and a Space Station. They will be for sale. And you did end up with another game right beforehand, which was a Champion Pub. Yes. This party occurred on May 21st, 2005. Oh, five. Okay. Okay. So I was thinking three. So I met Bruce on May 21st, 2005. I still remember that. I parked in the community parking area. Yep. And then I knew which you had to sign up on the door. It said like Western New York Arcade Club or whatever it said. So, you know, it's like, it's got to be it. and the first game I played was Black Knight 2000, which immediately slam tilted. And then it slam tilted again. And then you open up the coin door and found you had something leaning against the slam tilt. Which happens. So it was meant to be that way over the slam tilt podcast. Exactly. And the only reason I also know this was the party because there was a post from Chris Bucci here who mentioned the Champion Pub and the fact that when you hit a certain shot, it would just reboot. and I remembered that. Now, was that the party? Did you sell that to Vance or was that the next party? It was the next party. It was the next party. So that's when we met. I thought that was a neat little trip down memory lane. I was searching for something completely unrelated and this post comes up. So we sing a duet or something? Yeah. The first time ever I saw your face. You need to get something written by Barry Gibb. Baby, when I met you, there was peace unknown. Come on. I set out to get you with a fine-tooth comb. No? You're not Dolly Parton. Well, no, you would be Dolly Parton. No. No? You're not Dolly Parton. I said it right the first time. Well, no, I was singing the Kenny Rogers part. I know you can. That's not your... Are you saying I'm supposed to be Dolly Parton? Yes. I'm not blonde neither am I I have no hair that's true you have no hair let's see going through this anything else no mail mail mail mail we have one mail yeah one piece of mail in the mail ball bag alrighty it was from Parnell hi Parnell Basically, he was linking pictures to the shooter gauge mod for TNA, which I'm sure you would love. Shut up, Bruce. Had another party, man. Not a party. We had a, oh, actually, this happened since the last episode. Yeah, I had a knockout tournament here. Yeah, we had ten people, and I didn't have to play because it was all head-to-head. Matt Wall won. Everyone love TNA. No one can understand why you don't like TNA. Wake up. Backflip, back, backflip, back, backflip, back. Shut up, Dick. So it's basically, it's like a strip of LEDs. You put it in the shooter gauge. Yeah, it looks ultra cool. I may consider getting this, just to let you know. Great. To make my TNA even more awesome. Thanks, Bruce. Thanks for just being a dick. Okay. Enough. That's great, Bruce. You can stop making the sound. It's impressive lung power, though. You can tell you don't smoke. When are you going to have to inhale, though? How long? How long can you go? How long? Oh, it's running out. It's running out. It's running out. Yeah. Thanks, Bruce. No problem. Yeah. Once a dick, always a dick. Thank you. Yeah. So Expo, as far as news, I mean, there's no news. News is Expo. Expo is over. Now we have two months of hearing other podcasts. Think what the next thing is going to be. Yeah, what's the next game going to be, Bruce? Led Zeppelin, man! Led Zeppelin. I don't think so. So you think Stern's going to have any more games before the end of the year? Yes. You do? Yes. Who do you think it's going to be? Which designer? It's going to be my favorite designer. Oh, Mr. Eddie? Yes. Mr. Eddie. Okay. I think it's going to be, the information's going to come out probably right around the tournament at the Silver Ball Saloon on December 7th, because they want to get that Christmas money. The cash grab. The cash grab. Cash grab. So do you have any idea what it is? Nope. Any guesses? Nope. No? Do you? No. I don't know. Stranger Things. I've heard that. Oh, God, no. Isn't it like 80s nostalgia? Wouldn't you like that? I would, but I didn't like the show at all. I thought the show sucked. I have no opinion on the show. You know why? Because I didn't watch it again. Exactly. I didn't see it. Nice. Guess what movie's going to be coming out, Bruce? The trailer. The trailer was just released. I already got my tickets. You already have your tickets. And what wonderful movie am I talking about? Star Wars, The Rise of Skywalker. The Rise. Now, that sounds like a porn. Yes, we have The Rise of Skywalker, where I get it up in the, oh, yeah. So the Emperor's in this one, even though he's supposed to be dead? Yep. How? He just can't be. It's just like, what would Star Wars fans want to see? Well, he wants to see the Emperor again, so we'll make it so he's not dead and put him in the movie. That makes no sense. Yeah. Sorry. Just let it die. Hopefully everyone dies at the end of the movie and it just ends. Hopefully the New Order just wins. I have a question. Like, is there supposed to be the – is that it, the New Order? Did I say that right? Yes, the New Order. The New Order. So – and they have TIE fighters and all the same Imperial ships that the Empire used. Did they just, like, get the plans and just build all the ships? No, no, no. I think somebody just left them the keys. Oh, they just left them the keys. It's just to me, it's like, okay, we beat the Empire. Okay, they're back, but with a different name, but they have all the same ships. Yep, and no clones. It's just, oh, God, just end it, please. Hey, Lucas has got this all down. He had it all. And ways like Disney's even got ahead in this. This is Disney. It's not Lucas. Lucas has had the outline. Lucas? Oh, no. They can't even fucking approve a topper. Ron, Ron, I got you a ticket for when we go see it. No. I don't want to see this turd. I didn't see the previous one. No, no, no. I got the ultimate ticket. Oh, you see all three? No, no, all nine. Oh, no. 27 hours. Oh, my God. No, you're not doing that. No, I am. Why? Go type it. AMC Theater. Holy shit. No. What versions of the original trilogy are they showing? The new, unfortunately, the ones they fucked up, of course. Okay, so the only thing I would want to see is the fucked up version. Yes. So why would I ever want to see this? I know. Yep. But, yeah. I mean, if you could, like, Mystery Science Theater that and just, like, make fun of the movies, that would be funny. Especially the prequels. Oh. There's, like, oh, no. No, that's so bad. You would love it. No. Hopefully just. And, man, they brought Lando back. He looks like 90 years old. He's shopping the hut now. He's going to give everyone Colt 45s, you know, before they go into battle and stuff. Hey, guys, we got Colt 45. Colt 45. Smooth, crisp, clean. Colt 45. Smoother than the other side of the pillow. You got it. Oh, no. Oh. I think Ron will be doing an edit on that one. Yeah, I will. Okay, after that edit of the extremely inappropriate comment. Oh, yes. We should have a Patreon for all the stuff that's cut out. It's just one stream of inappropriate things that Bruce has said that's been cut out. You wouldn't know what to do. No, I wouldn't. I'd have to re-edit everything again. Oh, that's the thing. I think we should do that. No, no. Patreon. How about t-shirts? We should do t-shirts. I've said this since day one. Check your out hole. No, no, no, no, no. The Beavis and Butthead one. I love that. If you could get those made, that would be acceptable. I can get them made. It doesn't need a file that we can try to do something with. She did it by hand. It's manual. It's no file. It can be like a file. We have to figure it out. Yeah, you have to figure it out. Okay, thanks. You're the one who wants the damn shirt. I gave my approval. I have approved the shirt. Wow. Yeah. It meets my approval. Wow. Palette approved. We haven't seen Mrs. Penn or talked to Mrs. Penn lately. Hi, Mrs. Penn. Hi, Mrs. Penn. Well, she's like busy teaching. She's teaching the youth of America. I'm sure she's not using any of the language she does in the pocket. I hope not. Fuck no. Could you imagine that? The spirit of Massachusetts is the spirit of America. Does she give the kids awards like the kids of motherfucking Penn Falls? You motherfuckers. woman was fired from job after four days teaching story at 11 oh i i don't know if in in case they didn't see just they they streamed all the uh or at least they filmed and later they're they're on youtube all the seminars from expo the jersey jack seminar they had a picture of the the pin family Mr. and Mrs. Pin and Princess and Pinderella all wearing their Jersey Jack shirts so they show them during the seminar so there you go so Ron if you do come out on December 6th you're going to be playing a lot of Rush I am? will they be ready by then? ok so I'll be drunk driving at the Silver Ball Saloon that's such a bad name to call it oh man You can drive while being intoxicated at the Cedar Falls Saloon only. Nowhere else. Because guess what? Dave and Buster does it. Everyone does it. Where you go to those things. But they're not as cool as Rush. Not as cool as Rush. And not linked Rush. Are you going to have like the challenge the owner? Yes. Challenge the owner. You can get a free beer. If you beat the owner. Yes. And you'll probably won't. Would you let anyone win? No, of course not. Hell no. They got to earn it. They got to earn it. Did they get to pick the track? Yeah, I didn't pick any track. Okay. Because if it was you, you would just pick the stupid, ridiculously hard one that I can't even finish. Yeah. All right. Do we have anything else, Bruce? No, I don't think so. We did the mail ball bag. Yes, we did. We'll have some interesting segments I'm sure we have coming in the future. Yes, we do. We do. For the suggestions from our wonderful listeners. Don't worry. We have not forgot about you. I just wanted to get the Expo review out. Yes, the Expo. Expose. I keep thinking I missed something about the Expo, but I don't think so. Because nothing was really unveiled other than that topper, tons of Elviras, medieval madness. I think that was about it. Yeah. I'm sure someone's going to tell me something like, you missed this. You suck. Yeah. Don't forget to reserve your spot for the Pinball Profile World Tour at the Silver Ball Saloon. When is that? That is December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day. And it's, where's Silver Ball Salute again? 135 West Commercial Street in East Rochester, New York. What kind of format is that tournament going to be? I don't know. I was told it was going to be match play. Let's look. I can look right now. I'm going up, scrolling back up. Because you didn't want to do a flip frenzy. No. God, no. I hate fucking flip frenzies. They suck. Yes, it is a match play. I had a discussion with, you know, Mr. Jeff Teotlas. Yes. I told him I gave him my suggestions for games not to have in the tournament. Wow. Yeah. You know the one I'm talking about. What, Star Trek Next Generation? No, no, no, no, no. The game that takes an hour to play that no one wants to play. I think I made it a lot harder. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. You can do everything to that game. It just doesn't matter. It just doesn't matter. Name the show. What does that come from? What? It just doesn't matter. It just doesn't matter. I don't know. It doesn't matter is The Rock, but he's a wrestler, so that's probably not what you're talking about. Meatballs. Meatballs. I've never seen that movie. Oh, my God. You never saw that movie? Bill Murray, though. I know he was in it, right? Yes. Great. That's what he's the one that does the chant. I just read he fell asleep during his own Lifetime Achievement Award. Excellent. That's so perfect. It really is. I guess he was just bored, fell asleep. Wow. There will be a new Ghostbusters coming out next year. Yay. Interesting. I wonder if that means they'll have maybe a vault edition of Ghostbusters. Maybe, maybe, what's his name? What's his name? Who's the one that died? Harold Ramis. No, no, no, his character. Egon. Egon. Is he going to be hanging out with Slimer? Oh, like they're both, yeah, because, you know, Slimer's supposed to be. Yes. Supposed to be John Belushi. I know. So they're hanging out as, like, Slimers. Yep. That would be pretty funny. I'd go for that. Yeah, I think that would be actually fun. Yeah, that would be cool. But he's not drinking beer and all that. He's like doing sciencing stuff. Yeah. Make it so. Make it so, number one. Make it so. Make it so at the end of this episode. Episode 136 of the Slam Tilt Podcast. We can be found at slamtiltpodcast.com. All our links are there. Upper right, our Twitch link, YouTube, our RSS feed. You can reach us via email by sending your emails to slamtiltpodcast at gmail.com. Hopefully, I'll be streaming the Black Rose soon. And then hopefully the opening of your Deadpool premium. We'll see. We'll see. The other thing I just heard is that the Jurassic Park premium is now available through the IFPA discount. So I have a feeling Mr. Sharp is going to get pounded with those requests. Oh, yes, he is. Because I know that has been like the – I think that's been the number one question sent to the IFPA. It has nothing to do with tournaments or anything else. It's been, when is it going to be available through the rewards program? When is it going to be available? Oh, I have one more piece of news. Oh, you have one more piece of news? What's that, Bruce? Hopefully by next week, the Upstate New York standings will be fully updated. Fully updated? So, like, updated at all? Because I think mine was so far behind. It is, because a lot of the upstate New York, except for Middletown, was always taken. Well, so does that mean it's partially updated? It's about 30%. Oh, so don't bother to look then. Not yet. I'm just curious where I am, if I have any chance. Let's look right now. You said you was going to do it either tonight or tomorrow, so let's look right now, see if you got to it. While Bruce is looking that up, I've heard a rumor that the location for the New York State Championships. The state finals? State finals has been chosen. It has been chosen. Would you happen to know where it is? It's at the Silver Bowl Saloon. And where is that, Ron? 135 West Commercial Street, East Rochester. Isn't this great? Everything's happening at Silver Bowl Saloon. It is. It's coming up north. Well, yeah, north and west. Get your parkers on. Yeah, get your parkas on. Hopefully there is not a major snowstorm. And you are 15th as of right now, and it's not been updated yet. Oh, so maybe I'll be even higher. Well, what is it, top what? Top 16. Yeah. Right now the top of the leader is Howard Levine. Top of the leader. Okay. Top of the leader board. Top of the leader. Where is the upstate finals going to be? We don't know yet. Ah. But we will go to that talk in the next month, next couple weeks. And the good thing about the upstate rankings and finals, we can pick any time we want. We don't have to do it in February. We can do it in March or April. Well, don't go too late, but yeah. I know, but we can do it in March, so it's a little better on the Carl Weathers. A little better on the Carl Weathers. You got it, baby. So, yes, this has been episode 136. Thanks, everyone. Thank you, guys. Hi, Zach. All right, Steve, fun with bonus. who I shared an Uber with on the way back from Josh Sharpe's house. That's cool. Everybody, until next time, say goodbye, Bruce. Goodbye, Daniel Hoff and Nights. Oh my, my, it's guaranteed to keep you alive. Oh my, oh my, oh my, oh my. Thank you.
