So I told him, if you were truly comfortable with your own masculinity, you wouldn't be so threatened by my macrame. Bravo! It sounds like you really asserted yourself there, in a positive, constructive way. Want to come back to my house for a cup of coffee? Why, yes. I'd love to go back to your house. Whoa! Hey, Beavis, let's follow them until they do it. Yeah, yeah. That's going to be cool. Coming to you from beautiful upstate New York, this is the Slam Tilt Podcast, a show about all things pinball. I'm your host, Ron Hallett, here with my co-host, Bruce Nightingale. J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets. Yeah, they're playing right now. Are they losing? Nope, they're winning 17-10 now. Detroit just scored. You're a Jets fan. I'm a Jets fan. I'm sorry. I've always been a Jets fan. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for you. I don't jump on bandwagons. Okay, if that's what you want to hang your hat on. I stick with the losers all the time. But at least you could actually root for a team that plays in New York. No, I cannot. You cannot, even though you're that close to Buffalo. Yes, that team sucks. They were actually making fun of me this weekend because the Bills lost 46 or 47 to 3. Mm-hmm. And they said the Jets were going to score less, and the Jets are up 17 to 10, so guess what? Screw you, Buffalo. Your team sucks. Buffalo. This is episode 107, Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Best thing about it, the opening sequence. Yellow. Playing in the background. That's it. Movie's okay. I have been seeing it. I just saw it actually today. Oh. Well, actually, no. I saw the first five minutes of it. Which is the best part, so you're good. And I was just freaked out by, like, wow, Kurt Russell looks like 30. He's studly. I mean, he actually looked 30. I mean, it didn't look like really bad CGI or anything. I'm watching, and it's like, this is really, really making me uncomfortable. How does he look so young? That's all. That's all I saw. And I saw, oh, well, the credit sequence where they're fighting the whatever the hell that thing was. Yes, and that's the yellow. Ah, yeah. There you go. And I saw little Groot. Groot? Yeah, mini Groot or whatever the hell he is. Yes. Well, another week, another bunch of shows. Another bunch of shows? It was another bunch of stuff and all the news that's fit to print. Well, let's go over. This was like the Triforce of tournaments this week. Yes, and friends of the podcast were in them to win them. In them to win them. It's not just tournaments. They were shows. But at first we had the European Championships. Yes. Where was it happening again? Finland. It was in Finland. This is the European World Championship. Chip. At a concert hall. Yeah, with booze and stuff. And, you know, Europeans, they know how to party. They do. And friends of the show, Levy and Colin and Lyman were there. And Penny was there. Yep. And Penny. USA. We finished fourth. Yes, we did. And Colin finished third overall. Yes. Very nice job, Colin. Congratulations. And I have found your new hero. My new hero? What do you mean? Your new hero. Somebody that goes on the fly? Franck Boca, who was the – he finished second, but he's also a multiple-time European champion. Okay. And, I mean, I guess he doesn't come over here. So he's French. And I would say he plays more on the fly than you, Andre Massinkoff, and Daniele Acciari combined. Nice. You could literally count on one figurative amount of times he trapped. I can't even remember him trapping. Trapping was just like, must be the most evil thing to him. He just can't trap at all. The problem with me is when I trap, I'm done. Because then I have to think, and when I start thinking... Ah, that makes a lot of sense, actually. Mm-hmm. So I just go on the fly and play to win, and I do it. I do it, baby. Just do it. So, Yorian Engelbrexen, I think I said that right, Yes, I think he did. Well, one for like the... 27th time? 27th time. He is like what Keith Owen is to Papa. He is to the European Pinball Championships. Yes, yes. He is incredible. He plays well. I liked the... They seem to have a thing in Europe where you can get away with one huge shove and only get one tilt warning. Yeah. It was pretty cool. I noticed that when I was in the Netherlands. Yeah, they had this bizarre... Like when they were in the finals, they're playing Walking Dead, and they had an issue where the drop targets were just kind of registering when they weren't being hit when Yorian was playing, and he alerted the tournament director and said, like, play on. Then he ended up getting bloodbath and, like, 200 million later. Yeah, it seems like a bad call. Yeah, that was weird. Let's just say an interesting call. I'll leave it at that. So congratulations to Yorian. Then, and this was streamed. It was a good stream. This was like the streaming weekend. Got to watch that. Then when that was over, I switched over to the Cleveland Pinball Show. Ooh. Watching the finals there. And guess who won that? Some guy. He designs pinball machines. He's a pretty good darn player. And he is the one. Yes, Keith Elwin wins again. and he had probably one of the most ridiculous balls of centaur i've ever seen really no you didn't see it i did not i was i was saturday and sundays were a blur we'll get into that but the final game it was alexander kazmarchik which yes i could say his name yes he was actually in the lead and i think he was in a situation he had like 1.5 million going into ball three and if he had won the game, I believe he would have won. Keith Elwin was player two and he had like 30, 000 or something. He had nothing going into ball three. Absolutely nothing. By the end of ball three, he had two million. Basically all one ball. Then Alexander kind of drained out early, quickly, and then I think Trent might have been player four and he drained out and Elwin wins again. Ta-da, ta-da, ta-da. That was the Cleveland tournament. I'm sure the show was awesome too. Probably should mention that. Yeah. I didn't see any. I actually didn't hear much about it. No, it was just, I just watched the tournament, which was streamed by the Papa crew. So you got the Papa level coverage there. Then, if that wasn't enough for you, then we had the Vancouver flip out, which Raymond Davidson mentioned when he was on, which was this weekend in Vancouver. The Vancouver flip out, and that finished last, being on the West Coast. And you know who won that? Another friend of the show. How you doing, Raymond? Raymond Davidson wins the Vancouver Flipout. Congratulations to Raymond. I noticed the last game was actually undialed in. So he was probably loving that. And he sent me something from the show. Uh-oh. Pirates of the Caribbean. There was one of the new Pirates of the Caribbean's there. And does it move left and right? Yeah, it moves left and right. It actually moves left and right. The upper right play field was moving left and right. It exists. It does exist. Nice. So now I really want to play it. Now that I see that it actually exists. It works. Yeah. That was on my little notes here. Pirates of the Caribbean play field. So that was the tournament news. But let's get on to regular news. A piece of news. I just heard something today. Did you see what somebody was commenting about for Mr. Eddie's first machine? No, I did not, but I guess I'll be surprised when you tell me. This is from This Week in Pinball. Hi, Jeff. At the Vancouver flip out, American Pinball confirmed that Oktoberfest is the next game. Not excited? Not at all. Really? You own a bar. Wouldn't that be great for your bar, like bar theme? No, why not? Did you see the corny guy in the picture of one of the people in the Oktoberfest? Yeah, they showed some, like, a black-and-white play field photo, and then they showed, like, a piece of art. Yeah, it looks like one of those Gottlieb pictures, you know, like a freaky Gottlieb from the 90s. Uh, yeah, I guess so. Is it Wilford Brimley? It does look diabetes. Eat your oatmeal. If you put glasses on, eat your oatmeal. No, it's going to be diabetes. Diabetes. I haven't talked to you about diabetes. He's still alive, you know. I know. I couldn't believe that the other day. It's like, no. We looked it up also because we always make fun of – everyone at the bar makes fun of me because I can eat a ton of sugar. And they're all saying, why don't you have diabetes? Oh, man. We looked it up saying like, hey, he is still alive. Holy shit. So totally not excited. Oh, well. No. I'm always excited for new games, unlike Bruce. So I'll be looking forward to Oktoberfest. Did you get to see the stream? The Deadpool Premium stream was this past Wednesday. They had the local Bells and Chimes chapter there. Yes, they did. Which was cool. So they showed off some of the features that are not on the Pro. You got to see Disco Multiball with the disco ball. Yes. And the left orbit to the up-down ramp shot, which looked pretty good. It did. I actually thought it was good. Is it $1, 800 good? Is $1, 800 better? Good question. Yeah, that's my problem. Yeah, I mean, lately they just, you've been better off with the Pro. I mean, I think I've only seen one Guardians of the Galaxy Premium, or LE or whatever. I did like the drop targets. It seemed like it wasn't as fast down below. It really did deaden the ball. That I did notice. But, yeah, is that $1, 800 better? If somebody wants to trade me one for a Black Spider-Man, I'd be very happy to trade you. I have my home-use Black Spider-Man. And, unfortunately, the face of Stern, Tim Sexton, was not there. What the hell? To go over the game, yes, because he had a medical issue. He was hanging mighty low. We'll mention it because he did put it on Facebook. He did. He had a third ball. Yes. I think we mentioned that before. Basically, he had a hernia. He had to have hernia surgery. Yes. So get well quick, Timmy. He had ice pack on his jewels. Yeah. Get well, Tim Balls. Yes, never has this name been more appropriate. It was. And I know Keith right now is laughing his ass off. Do you think he was laughing his ass off the whole time? Hey, Timmy. Timmy. Balls. Timmy. Balls. Photo shoot mystery solved. That was unaware of this. They had a photo shoot setting that was in the menu, but we weren't actually supposed to see it. It's for when they do photo shoots of the game. So it turns all the lights on for the pics. Interesting. But I was, I like the game. Yeah. I like the fourth wall thing, too. Oh, yeah, it had newer code on it, so we got to see the actual fourth wall thing where Deadpool's head, like, comes up and he says something. So that was cool. That was the stream. So check it out if you want to see what it looks like. Let's see. Next, we got more Home Pin stuff. We know you love Thunderbirds. Mm. You do? Mm-mm. No? Okay. We'll just, yeah. Okay. But there was an interview. There was an interview with Mike Kalinowski from Home Pin. That's on the This Week in Pinball site. Check it out. And we have, well, yeah, I guess we know. we know where the Williams-Bally license is going. Yep. We kind of guessed it. I wanted it. I said it weeks ago. Well, didn't the guy – okay, before we go into that. Yes, Williams-Bally pinball license acquired by Zen Studios. Yep. Which didn't the guy who owns Zen Studios pretty much say that on Facebook? He was hinting. He didn't say it. He was hinting. But I think we even said it – I even said it beforehand. Like, I'd love to see them do it because I think they have more. and they're very open with their beta and they're tweaking stuff as we speak. So stay tuned, folks. Hopefully it plays... Hopefully they can have a realistic mode so the games don't play ridiculous where you can play them forever and save everything. Like maybe a little more realistic physics. Mm-hmm. I don't know. And then have arcade mode so it plays easier or something like that. I don't know. So you might have a game that actually only is going to have a production of 550. Who's that? You. Me? Yeah, Total Nuclear Annihilation. Which, by the way, I streamed this weekend, and you really need to play more. This game is made for you, Bruce. It really is. I don't understand your issue with the game. There's no repeatable shots, except for backhand, backhand, backhand, backhand, backhand. Uh, you got it. Yeah. You got it. Sorry, that's not a fun game. You got to play it. Did you just say it's not a fun game? I really don't think it's that fun of a game. I think it's fun as hell. I was literally sweating on the stream at one point. I got up to, I think, reactor. That's how in shape you are in pinball land. So, you know, you got to get better in shape. You got to eat your vitamins. You got to, you know. Okay, folks, just for clarification, I do like 36 flights of stairs daily. And you're going to say I'm out of shape. You are compared to me. Compared to you. Yes. Want to do a stair climbing contest, Bruce? I want to see you serve drinks No no Okay I challenge you in any cardio endeavor Remember when we used to go to California Extreme and they had the exercise bike Adam Family Yes. Remember when you were on that and almost died? But I did score more points than you because of my good pinball proudness. So guess what? I still win. I played that once, Bruce. I started multiball and got the freaking double jackpot on that, Adam's Family. I know you did, but I still beat you in a couple modes because I had the seance. mode and then I got a couple other things so don't even go there. Wow, you pretty much remember everything, don't you? I do. I hate you. You suck. Thank you. So, give it a look-see if you want to see me get to Reactor 5. That's as far as I got. I'd say the extra balls are right in the right spot too, right where they are. You really do need them. I'd say 3-6 is definitely a good place for it. And yeah, as you get deeper into the game man. It gets more and more intense. I love it. I'm glad you love it. I made these slings a little more sensitive, kind of made a few other tweaks here and there to get it in the happy zone. I'm enjoying it, even if Bruce doesn't like it. So Zen Pinball, we'll go back to that. How many pinball machines did they release? You mean for? For their new Williams license. I don't know. How many? Fish Tales, Junkyard, Medieval Madness, and the Getaway High Speed That's funny, you said how many And that's four But then you named them You should have just said what four games were released But I did say that I told you the number Yes, you did I still don't get you I don't get it You're my brother, you should know me by heart now Which one are you, Bert or Ernie? Huh? Explain One of our fans, Roto Dave We have fans? Oh, Roto Dave. Do you mean, what's his name again? Is it Randy Pack? Robert Pack. Robert Pack from Australia. Yes. As opposed to Dave Pack from New Zealand. Well, they're all from, he's from the Australian continent. We've already proven that one. So we just lost three more Australian listeners, I guess, or New Zealand listeners maybe. But he said that he recommended us to one of his friends and he listened to us and he said, our dynamic was Bert and Ernie. I think I'm Ernie. I hate to say it. Bert's the one with the tall head, right? Yes. Yeah. Now that I'm... Yeah. I'd agree. I'd agree with that. Hey, Bert. So if our listeners want to vote on who's Bert and who's Ernie... Knock your socks off. Yep. I'm the one with the long head. You have the wide head. Oh, my. Long head. It's got to get that at least in once. You said in. In. In long. Deadflip teaser. Deadflip has said they're going to have a huge reveal stream. Supposedly, the rumors are it will take place on Monday, September 17th. Mm-hmm. Which is next Monday from when we're recording, and it has nothing to do with Deadpool or anything like that. And it is pinball related. Any idea what it might be? It might be his game that he's making. Oh, he's making a game? He made a Whitewood. Oh, I was unaware. See? I'm glad one of us pays attention. What? I think that was it for news. That was it for news. Now, you had some news. You said a Brian Eddy thing. People are saying that Brian Eddy's first machine would be... Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. Yes. Jaws. I'm not too thrilled about that. It doesn't seem like it's a good license. but people will ask for it. It's Spielberg! Come on, it's only like, I don't know, 43 years old? That's all. That's all? I mean, it's no older than... Well, let's see, let's see. When Jaws came out, ACDC was kind of around. Like, maybe infancy. Yes. Metallica didn't exist. KISS was around. ELO was around. No, ELO doesn't have a game. Oh, wait a minute, are you saying there's going to be an ELO game? I'd love to have an ELO game. You, you, yes, you and no one else. Make it so, number two. Yes, we were around, Bruce. Kiss has always been around. We actually had our makeup at that point, 1975. Is that when our live album came out, Bruce? I think it is. Yes, it is. Did you know our live album isn't really live? Their first one wasn't. And their second one. But the third and fourth were. Oh, okay. That makes it all different, Bruce. See, you're finally catching on now. God, finally. Oh, man, yeah. Your most famous album is your live album, and it's not even live. You got it. Yeah. That's Kiss, ladies and gentlemen. Yes, it is. Okay, so that's it for Piece of News. What else do I have on my little docket here? Let me get this one out of the way. I like this one. And if our listeners know of one I'm missing here, feel free to chime in, as our listeners did chime in a lot this last week. Good. They made up for last week's of our ball bag being empty. So, Stumper. This is my Stumper for today. Credit to Zach, because that's where I'm getting all my Stumpers. How come I don't get help from Zach? And he fucking lives closer to me. I don't know. Maybe just, maybe, I don't know. I don't know. Thanks, Zach. Hi, Zach. So, I'm going to give you the first part of this, because most people know this part. Creature from the Black Lagoon. Mm-hmm. Has three balls in the ball trough. Only has a two-ball multiball. Most people, a lot of people know that. That's kind of a more well-known fact. What other Williams game does the same thing? Hmm. Black Rose? Nope. It predates Creature from the Black League. Thought maybe Black Rose. But it does do a three-ball. Mm-hmm. Yes, it does. now as zach would probably say think of the source of the question i don't know jokers wild jokers maybe so i wouldn't know that but i gave you the clue think of the source think of williams games that a multiball that zach owns jokers so it has nine drop targets and it as three balls in the trot, but only two ball multiball. So that was the Stomper. Now, if we've missed some, please feel free to add. Okay, I have a Stomper for you. Alright. Name the two pinball companies from Bologna, Italy. Well, Zachariah. Yep. And another one. Yep. Pizzeria Pinball? No. No? Let's see. And it's not a name that you'd expect it to be. Oh, so it's something I've heard of? Yes, maybe. But you wouldn't think they're Italian? It doesn't sound Italian, no, not at all. It doesn't sound Italian. Okay. Sonic. Nope. No, because that's not, I know that's not Italian. Spain. Yeah. I don't know, Bruce. I'm never going to get this. Bell Games. Yep. And what great games did Bell Games make? They made mostly conversion games. And they made 1, 14 conversion games. Some were factory ballys, and they did conversions for Gottlieb and for ballys. So are they one of those companies that would take an American game and make it Europe? In other words, put nudity and crap on it and all that stuff? No, no, no, no, no. It actually would take a, like, they've actually did Saturn II, which was a Spy Hunter redone. Is that the one with all the crap on the one side? Yes. Okay. And then they also did Super Bowl, which is 84 X's and O's. So they were the conversion kit kings. Yes, but they also released Flash Gordon, Frontier, and Fireball 2. European versions? Yes. And they also did a – they called it a pinball pool, which is a conversion kit, but it looks like a cheesy 8-Ball Deluxe. It's based off of 8-Ball Deluxe play field. And they called it pinball pool, which was the name of a Gottlieb game. Yes. I'm so confused right now. But it's pin space ball. Ah. So it's three letters. Ah, pinball. Ball. So they're like the Chicago Pinball Expo, the way the hotel writes pinball every year. Yes. P-I-N space B-A-L-L. Yes. You got it. So that was the two companies. All right. Because the reason why I talk about this is because Mike Dimas picked up one of these today. And Mike Dimas is? One of the guys from the Canadian Pinball Podcast. Ah. Hello, Mike. Hi, Mike. He picked up one tiger rag. No, seriously, Bruce. It is. What's the name of the game? Tiger Rag. No, no, no. Okay, okay. What's the translated name? I couldn't tell you. But it says Tiger Rag on the pinball machine. That's bad. Yes. That's a terrible name. It's a conversion kit for the 84 Kings of Steel. Oh, God. Kings of Right Target. Yes. Tiger Rag. Well, rhyming with rag, we got the bag, as in the mail ball bag. We asked for suggestions, and our listeners heeded the call. But first, we got a press release in our mail ball bag. Huh? You haven't seen the mail ball bag yet. I have not seen your mail ball bag ever, so please don't let us know. Never Beef Productions is excited to announce that Never Beef Production members Paul Karras, Levy Naiman, Tim Sexton, and Austin Smith are joining the G Fuel team as sponsored athletes. Wait a sec. So this is a sport now? No, it's not. Wait a sec. How can they be athletes? These professional competitive pinball players are professionals with numerous big tournament wins in high finishes between the group will act as ambassadors for G Fuel Energy Formula, a powdered energy drink. So are they like kinetic athletes? I don't know what they are. It's scaring me. Kinetic athletes. You know, since they've won stuff, I've won stuff. Does that mean am I a professional competitive finball player? No, because you're not getting your G Fuel. Oh, so I need a sponsor? I need to have G Fuel. Yes. Damn it, I want to have some G Fuel. I want Preparation H as my sponsor. because I wanted to be the biggest pain in the ass Bruce or maybe depends I get to sit at the pinball machine and just go okay I'm ready to go again that's the only time you'll see me trapped Bruce is doing one of those rare traps Oh, no. You're hearing it from the man himself. Gene Simmons, I will be there. $20 goes to charity, possibly a KISS charity. It's called KISS charity, and it's only cash only. It's cash only, of course. That's right. But you will get my signature on, what am I signing again, Bruce? Soda. I'm signing soda, yes. That's right. Money bag soda. Money bag soda, yes. Yeah. On with the mail bag, the mail ball bag. We have a suggestion from Alex for our stomp three name. Okay. I don't think we need any more suggestions after this one. This is the home run? This is the home run on the first try. Okay, let's go. Let's hear it. First time I'm hearing it. Let's go. Stomp 3D. Okay, I can go for that. Or Stomp in 3D. I just think Jaws 3D. I think of Weird Al because one of his albums is called Al in 3D. Jets are still winning. Okay. That's wonderful. You know, Weird Al is one of the best live concerts I ever went to. It was a Weird Al concert. Ooh, ooh, ooh. And I know where you're going to be next. Hold on. We have to go see a concert together. We have to. Oh, it's not going to be Steel Panther, is it? Oh, fuck yeah. And where is Steel Panther playing, Bruce? Niagara Falls. That's wonderful. When are they playing in Niagara Falls? September 28th. Lovely. I can't wait. And the tickets are only $20. Of course they're only $20. Come on, that'd be classic, wouldn't it? It would be. I would never go on the floor though there only is the floor see there you go it's out I did floor once and it was ugly I do not want people falling on me in sorry It in advance 30 days of the show at the day of All right We have I'm going to get our tickets right now. Our next. General admission. Entry in the mail ball bag is from Mike Dimas. Hey, Mike. Two times in one show. Hey, Robin Bruce. I accidentally found a good would you buy that listing on eBay for you. Okay. So the link that he gives actually was for an 8-ball pinball machine, a Bally 8-ball pinball machine. I see it now, yes. The problem is when you click on it, it like now goes to a rubber ring kit for Bally 8-ball. It looks like the auction is over. Fail. Sorry. It says, also, I heard Ron's description of his T&A issues out of the box. It sounded so familiar that I had to comment. But issues are with my Rob Zombie machine. Flipper bats positioned too high. Audio crackles and weirdness. Check. Super hyper tilt action. Check. I've adjusted the flippers to the proper position, and they work much better. And going to do the earplug thing on the tilt bobbering so it settles quicker ASAP. Not sure about the audio, but it only seems to act up when the machine has been on for hours during a league night. Here's a Stumper tech question for Bruce. Ready? Yes, ready. Three of my bonus inserts on my Flash Gordon operate perfectly, and as they should, but they flicker on and off to the exact sequence of the backbox lamps, which illuminate the words Flash Gordon on the backbox. Hard to explain, but these lamps mirror the flickering effects of the backbox lamps. I replaced the MPU, the lamp driver, and the auxiliary lamp driver, and the effect is still there. I repinned J4 on the MPU, which is for the lamp data, and still not resolved. Any suggestions? Got to be a short somewhere or a cross. probably from J4 down to the light board or off the lamp board going to the either. Well, the problem is the backbox lamps go differently from the cab, from the play field one. So that's kind of weird. Yeah, it is a stumper, but I'd definitely check all the connectors, maybe redo them all just to rule them completely out and repinning all the connector. So not just J4, all of them. All of them. and reflowing the solder on all just to make sure there's no cross. It could be a cross on something. All right. And if any listeners have any suggestions, feel free to send them in. Anyways, keep up the great work, boys. Always look forward to your podcast. Mike Dimas. Thank you, Mr. Mike. All right, next. Robert Viers. He's trying to convince us that Genie is an awesome Gottlieb. No, no, turd. I thought you guys could use an email for something to talk about. I've had a life-altering event, and I've got the bug in room for more machines. Let's see. I had a Gateway, Paragon, Genie, and Lancer's EM, but now have room for five more. I picked up an Argosy and Joker's. Argosy. Joker's. And storing a Transformers and ACDC for a friend that's moving. So I have eight machines at the moment. So once these two I'm storing are gone, I'm thinking of getting an Iron Maiden for sure and two others. Initially, I was planning on newer machines, but after putting $400 million on Transformers and $1.2 billion on ACDC and hour-long games, I'm leaning towards a good classic Bally Williams game. I find myself playing one to two games of the modern Sterns, but seven to eight games of Argosy on any given night. What's your recommendation to round out my collection? Again, his current is Getaway, and Lancers. And a future game will be Iron Maiden. So what should he get, Bruce? Meteor. That's a stern. Oh, Badly Williams or Classic. Boy. Get a Paragon. Oh, you already have one. Does he mean newer? Does he mean like 89? No, Classic. Classic Badly Williams games. Okay. Time Fantasy. Go for really wacky. Really? Snail Time. Snail Time? No, he'll be on it forever. Something else. 8-Ball Deluxe is always a classic. Yeah, 8-Ball Deluxe. Flash Gordon, if you like pain. Yeah, no multiball. That's the only thing bad about that. If you had to, you know, you can go. I'd go Old Stern, sorry. So Bruce is saying Old Stern. How about Williams? Any good old Williams? I told you, it was Time Fantasy. No, come on, an actual good old Williams. pokerino no no go play uh firepower it's good black knight well i go black knight if anything but just it unfortunately there's so many of them you know unfortunately there's so many of them well there is so many of so you can always get one i would go something rarer you know nobody else has it you're really going to enjoy that game and if you do want to sell it you can get good value for it but aren't you gonna have to pay a lot to get it in the first place? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Alright, so I'd say like Firepower. For a Bally, like maybe Flash Gordon if you want Pain. Stern, Meteor. Or like I sa id, 8-Ball Deluxe is okay. Yep, Flight 2000. Oh, you're just going to start going over all the Sterns. No, no, no, that's the only two I was thinking. Cheap ones that you can get easily. Or even an old pinball. Oh, yeah, pinball. That's the name of the game. Not just an old pinball. So awesome shows as always. Thanks, Robert Byers, player 164. P.S. I'm thinking of traveling to more tournaments. Want to list your top four to five suggestions? Well, I would say Texas, but he already knows that. Of course. And Pinburgh, but I'm sure he already knows that. Mm-hmm. Sanctum, if you want pain. If you want 24 hours of pain, you can go to the Sanctum. Mm-hmm. I mean... Allentown's a good show because you actually get the buying and the good tournament there getting better. Yeah, I mean, I'm going to name all the stuff I go to, but, I mean, as far as top tier, I'm not at Robert's level. So what I find fun, he might not. I don't know. I mean, Pintastic is good. Yep. If you want, like, the old, because it has the old school Papa format entry base, if you want to give that a whirl. Just some suggestions. I mean, I haven't been to a lot of the other ones. All the crap I've been to has been on the East Coast lately. I mean, if you want to play forever, you can do X-Bow with the never-ending bracket. The never-ending bracket. So thank you, Robert. Next email is from Robert Byers. He has some suggestions for the next series. We got a lot of them, too, on Facebook. We got classic horror movies. Harry Potter. The problem with Harry Potter is I literally have not seen a single Harry Potter movie. My wife's made me watch them all, and oh my God, it's put a nail in my eye. No, let's not do that. Movie-themed machines in order. Movie-themed machine? What do you mean? That's what it says. Movie-themed. This one, pick a famous actor and work through their portfolio. Yeah. Arnold Schwarzenegger, you could do a lot with that. And Sylvester Stallone, you could also. Mm-hmm. but I think he means more like we just work through all their movies. But, man, these people have been in a lot of movies. Yeah. I mean, Arnold, you know what Arnold's first one would be? With one in New York City where he was. Yeah, Hercules in New York. Yeah, pretty bad. And then I think his second one would be Pumped or what is it, Pumping Iron. Yes, Pumping Iron. You must get the pump. I must get it through the pump. Maybe we can do, like, famous actors in pinball machines. Like, you know, we can talk about the movie that they were in, like Demoman, Sylvester Stallone. We can do, I don't know. That's a hard one. Yeah, that's a hard one. The next email is from David S., subject line of Deadpool, the game's to the right. Let's see, probably not the first to let you know, but don't get excited. It's a letdown. the games to the right on Deadpool remember we were asking that if you scrolled to the right they are Flight 2000 and Quicksilver that's not a fucking disappointment no it is that's what's on the left too they just repeated it so it must be like the other side like it must go around like almost a 360 or they just put the same two games fail if that happened then we're yelling at Timmy yeah come on come on put something else put a stars Oh, yeah. Put a stars there. I think we can take a galaxy. A galaxy, yep. Then our next email is from Dr. John Cawson. The doctor is in. How about Eddie Murphy movies? I like that one. It'll be good up to a point, and then you'll be like, wow, he was in some really shit movies after a while. Yes. You're going to start off with 48 hours, trading places, coming to America. Yeah. and then you're going to get to Boomerang. Oh, God. But, yeah, we can actually see how he started off really good and then got shitty and then had some good stuff in the middle. I say we do Eddie Murphy. Yeah, that would be interesting. Let's see, Eddie Murphy movies. So how many Eddie Murphy movies are there, Bruce? Well, the first one is 48 Hours, then Trading Places. Great movie. Then Best Defense. Then Beverly Hills Cop. Yeah. The Golden Child. Beverly Hills Cop 2. Coming to America. Another 48 Hours. Harlem Nights. Boomerang. The Distinguished Gentleman. Beverly Hills Cop 3. Well, don't say them all now, Bruce. I know. I'm just going to listen. There's some good and bad, but you also have, don't forget, you also have I'm Donkey. Oh, Shrek, that's right. Sorry, we'll take that under consideration. I kind of like that one, but there's a lot of turds. A lot of turds. Perfect. We love turds, Bruce. No, I don't like Gottliebs. Well, speaking of that. Okay. Our next email is from Scott. Hi, Scott. Stop two thoughts. Ron needs more early solid state valleys. Actually, you have more to me. I have Harlem. That's it. That's it? That's it. You do need more then. Okay. Then he says, one drop target laden Gottlieb wouldn't hurt either. Yeah, Counterforce. How's that? Actually, I wouldn't mind your timeline, which you don't have anymore. I don't have it anymore. Exactly. Let's see. Then we have next emails from Alex. Hello, Alex. For our next series of movies, Dirty Harry. Which would be good, except there's not that many of them. There's only five, isn't there? Five? The Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact, and then the last one, which is terrible. I thought it was five, yeah. The last one is the one with, like, remote-controlled cars and shit. Mm-hmm. It's really bad. I was actually embarrassed for Dirty Harry in that one. Listen, punk. Yeah, listen, punk. This sucks. this movie really sucks. You have remote control cars like going after other. It was bad. It was really bad. So don't forget people if you want to trade a good pin for my black Spider-Man message me. I'm looking for trades but if anybody's got a Deadpool out there here you go. He's looking for trades folks and we're still looking for tech subjects. I guess maybe our listeners don't like tech as much as I thought they did. Yeah I guess not. But we have a new guest coming up? Coming up soon. Really? Finally, yep. We're settling down the dates, and we're going to have a good guest. The contract negotiations have gone through? They are going through. We're hammering out the final things. And this is a guest that you've tried to get on for since we started the podcast. Yes. We'll just leave it at that. Yep. And the Jets are still winning. Oh, who cares? I do. They're up now 38-17. Wow. Yeah, how you doing there, boys? J-E-T-S, Jets. Jets, Jets, Jets. So I did two things this week for my tech. One thing I went against your better judgment, and I put Nine Ball at the bar. Wait a minute. How was it against my better judgment? You thought it was going to be like a disaster keeping it running and watching it all screw up. Well, yeah, that too, yeah. You said that, didn't you? Probably. Hasn't done it yet, so I'm good. Yet. Oh, yeah, it's going to happen, of course. But in tournaments, if it does come up in a tournament, I'm going to have it play like we'll do one and three so it doesn't screw up, or maybe a single player, you know, if somebody picks in the finals. Yeah, I mean, Nine Ball did its usual crap during stop where the ball will occasionally blow by the one switch, so you drain and it just sits there. You just have to actuate the switch and then it's fine. It's a pain, though. It is. I agree. It's just a pain in the neck keeping that thing running. That's just a mechanical nightmare. It's a good game. It's a good game, but it's a mechanical nightmare. And then next week I'm going to probably take out, after Summer League at the bar, I'm going to take out Whitewater and put in the clear-coated hot dog in for the winter season. So people will be like, what the hell is this thing? Cool game. Then they'll still say, what the hell is this thing? And I did pick up another Harlem this week. You picked up a Harlem Globetrotters, Bruce. Yes, sir. Couldn't pass it up. I couldn't pass it up, and it's better than my old one. Nice. So I'm very happy with that. More Mylar peeling, and then I got to find time. The problem with me is I'm so busy at work with the bar, I come home from my one day of work like you think, okay, I got Monday off. Every Monday is my day off. I get home Sunday night late. I sleep till like 11. But after I wake up at 11, I'm like, I'm so tired. I'm like, just like, I just want to relax because I know my next week is going to be hard. So I don't do anything. And I have like so many games out in the garage that I could touch and I want to touch. Oh, my. It just doesn't work. So I'm going to ask Zach maybe to give me some help on Meteor. And then he can have it at his house for a while. And maybe he can get Meteor kick-started and running. Wouldn't that be nice? Wouldn't that be special? So you were really busy this weekend? Oh my God. Kathy had her 50th birthday party at the bar and we had our busiest night ever. Let's just say I got there at 10:30. I didn't leave until 2:45 in the morning. Damn. Yeah, and I was slinging drinks and everything. You know, when it's busy, when I'm slinging drinks with our head bartender, and even Kathy was behind the bar. So it was packed. So it was like Tapper. It felt like Tapper, actually. I think we had at least 50 or 55 people just in the bar area alone. The restaurant area is completely full, except for where Kathy's cake was, which Elena made for us, which was beautiful. It was a dachshund cake. She did a great job. And then we had karaoke going on, and the whole upstairs was filled. And then I had to throw out the first group of people in about four months, completely threw out of the bar. What happened? They actually threw a ketchup bottle into the bowler and jammed up the ball return motor where it almost burned out. So when somebody told me that I grabbed the, I opened it up, got that all cleared out, and then I'm sitting down waiting for them to talk to me and they were ignoring me for a little bit and they're like why are you down here and one guy's like oh he's the owner and they're like oh I said yeah you guys are done with your drinks. Let's just get out right now and let's leave. Like, why? Why? And I said, one of your asshole people here just threw the ketchup bottle down in my ball bowler and took out my motor almost. So you guys are done. Well, can't we finish our drinks? I'm like, no, you're just fucking done. Get out. And I got up and left. Oh, well, sorry. You're trying to destroy stuff. Get out of my place. Ball bowler, ketchup bottle. Yep. How'd the other thing go with the light? I'm dealing with that later on. Ah. That's all I'm going to say about that. Oh, later on. Okay. That's all I'm going to say about that, boy. Yep. What did you fix? I just worked on TNA kind of getting in the happy zone, like I said. Mm-hmm. I found, I don't know why they did this. There's flipper hop. So I was going to play around with that. I take the inlane guide off, and they use, like, wood screws for the entire inlane guide. Okay. I don't get that. For those at home, typically, I mean, typically it's going to be machine screws going through like a T-nut, you know, through the playfield, so the thing doesn't, like, ever blow out. And usually, like, they would have, like, the one by the flipper and the one, the far one at the end. And, like, there'll be, say, three screws in there, and the two outer ones will be machine screws, and maybe the one in the middle is a wood screw. But in this case, all three of them were wood screws, which frankly surprised me. So I had to get creative with some other stuff to try to get rid of, if not get rid of, at least make the flipper hop less. That's all I'll say about that. Okay. Other than that, oh, I got to look at a big game. When I played it this Saturday, no, Sunday, when my dad was over, he turned it on and it's got a weird soundboard thing. It literally sounded like it had static, but it still had the sounds. Yeah. So the static literally sounded like I was playing a Sea Witch version of Big Game. Oh, great. Yeah. It might need to be recapped. That's what I'm thinking. I think that's it for me. Okay. So would you like to go to Would You or Would You Not Buy That? Sure, Bruce. This is where we go to the depths of eBay. Depths, is that a word? The far reaches of eBay looking for fun stuff to buy or not buy. So let's all go to eBay right now. Dun, dun, dun, dun. Ready. Ticket number 202-428-904-404. Seriously, Bruce? Actually, yes. It's a Bally Six Million Dollar Man. Ron's favorite game, but... Bruce knows it's my favorite game. Go look at it. All right. Shiny little coin door. Let's see. Playfield. They took the glass off. Wow. Looks all shiny and stuff. Actually, one of the nicest ones I've ever seen. Yeah. But it's, whoa, look at that back glass. Oh, see? Damn. You might even appreciate this one. Oh, I appreciate it. I mean, it's, you know what the unique feature of Six Million Dollar Man is? Six player, yeah. Solid cabinet. It works 100%. Tear down in 2016. Playfield's been touched up and lacquer clear coated. All-tech MPU board. Updated bridge rectifiers. Rebuilt rectifier board. Updated board jumpers. Recent 5-volt filter cap. Let's see. Backglass. Been triple-decked. No broken plastics. It currently has two bids, and it's at $1, 025. Not too shabby. All right. So if you really want a Bally Six Million Dollar Man, it looks like a nice shape, here it is. There you go. It's in New Jersey, too, right south of you. New Jersey, yeah. So would you or would you not buy that, Ron? I wouldn't, but I hate the game. But someone else might. For that condition, it's actually a nice shape. So I would think about it at that price. Yep. Think about it. Next one and last one. 253-813-443-590. Oh, and there's one more after this one. Harlem Globetrotters working LEDs Valley. Currently at $1, 795. Alright. Let's look at this one. A little bit of wear. Yeah. Yeah, I would assume it's Mylar. Mm-hmm. Okay. Let's see what we got. Globetrotters, pinball, LEDs, LEDs, nice back glass, new legs, for age, good condition. Can load for you or willing to work with your shipper. How nice. $1, 800, though. It is a lot, and there's a little wear around the inserts. I don't know. That's a little pricey. I agree. Yeah. And that's the start. It's not up to that bid. That is the starting bid. Yeah, exactly. So they're trying for the home run. Mm-hmm. So I would not buy that, but it's in a location that – where is the location again on that one? Uh, it is in Loveland, Ohio. Yeah, so. One more. 163-243-956-699. Bally Evil Knievel machine with original manual and topper? There was a topper? There's not a topper. Well, how come it says topper then? I couldn't fucking tell you, but it's not a topper. Looks clean. That's weird. Is it supposed to have, like, two chime units, or is the chime unit that big? On a Bally, let's see. I didn't look at it. It's got three chimes and then a fourth one. And a fourth one, yeah. And its own unit, but, like, only with that one chime. Yes, that's the way it's supposed to be. Yeah. Bally's do that. It's got a thing of Evil Knievel next to it, like our George Takei, like, life-size cardboard cutout. Yep. It's in really nice shape, actually. It is. Oh, there's the topper. It's sitting on top of the game. They just don't have it on top of the game. Oh, yes. That's because of the plastic kit from, what's his name, from CPR. Okay, so that's not original then. No. Yeah, original manuals, original everything. It looks nice. $1, 525. It's high, but it is nice. It is nice. It's in California where pin machines are usually more than everywhere else. Yeah. Yeah, I guess, especially if you are a big Evil Knievel fan. Totally agree with that. Yeah, and it does have two spinners, so. It does have two spinners. I'm looking at one more, maybe. Hold on. Oh, yeah, here we go. I'd consider that. I'd consider that one, too, actually. That's a really nice one. And before you give the last one, even though you said this one was the last one. Yep. I saw a thing that there was a Fathom topper, supposedly NOS. I was unaware that it actually had a topper. Neither was I. I was thinking maybe because, like, CPR doing that plastic kit again. No, I guess it was not. It was a 1981, like, NOS topper. So just a question for our listeners, because this is something that's come up before in some conversations. What was, like, the game with the first topper? So somebody knows. I think I read somewhere there was, like, an EM that actually had a topper. So it could be from the 70s. Okay, how about solid state? Let's think solid state. Well, no, what was the first game of the topper, period? Okay, I'm thinking solid state. I think I know the solid state answer. Okay, what's the solid state answer? I think it's Space Shuttle. They had a cardboard thing saying new Space Shuttle machine. So that's our question for our listeners. Now for the last item. Are you ready? I'm ready. 263-922-009-336. Okay. So, you know, when I see a game that says Project Machine, and it's more expensive than, like, nice ones I've seen. Yeah. Flash Gordon, Pinball Restoration Project Machine. This game is being sold as is. Cabinet is solid. but playfield is better than most. Back glass is near perfect. Game is complete, including strobe light behind the back glass. If it's this project, I'm assuming it doesn't work. It does not, because it says below that, it says it has two bad diodes on the power board. Assume the game does not boot. Needs a lot of cleanup and some mechanical work to get everything working. The rails look like shit. Side rails, coin door, and lockdown bar are rusty. Yes, they're rusty. If you decor or replace, comes with an extra non-rusty. Oh, my God. Look at the coin door. I know. Looks like a turd. Look at the no shooter. Oh, come on. Well, you know, they didn't make many of these. Oh, no, they did. Oh, they did. They made a shit ton of them. Yes, they did. I love the ramps. The ramps are really good in here, too. Did you wait until you see the ramps? Wow, they're a little rusty. And so are the spinner lanes and spinner. Basically, anything that's metal in this game is rusted to shit. Yeah. It might have been in a flood. Yeah. Yeah, and you know how much they want for it? $1, 850. Yeah. We would not buy this. Not at all, but I saw it, and I had to throw that in. Mm-hmm. It was a gem. Yeah, it's a gem all right. So how are the Jets doing, Bruce? 41-17 now. Okay, just checking. They're just laying it on. We're almost done with the third quarter. Just changed again, 48. Wow. Woo-hoo. They're kicking ass. Taking some names, kicking some ass. Alright, you got anything else? What's upcoming? Upcoming this week we have the finals for the Summer League in upstate New York, we also have Western New York pinball signups are now going on so we have people signing up for the Western New York pinball league come one, come all join our fun little league. If you're in Western New York. If you're in Eastern New York you're kind of screwed like Ron. Yeah. You need to move. No. It'd be cool. On that downer. Yeah, I think we're done. So this has been episode 107, Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Say hi to all our friends of the podcast. Hi, Steve Bowne, fun with bonus. Jeff Teolis. Pinball Profile. Head to Head, boys. Hi, Zach. Say goodbye, Bruce. Goodbye, you pinball player bastards. You really got to get the name before we do it. I know. You didn't give me time. I was like, usually it's like you're going through, I'm looking it up, I'm going da-da-da-da-da-da.
