I do know that's something that like Stern does extremely well with getting games that are reliable and consistent and most of the time that means potentially less in them. Like, so yeah, you can say like, "Oh, that's like TM and a T." But it's like I'm only doing it like three to four times, which is I feel Hey, as a We don't have one yet. As a horrible pinball player. I agree with you that the Aerosmith modes the Aerosmith modes are not there isn't a ton about them that make one mode in my opinion stand out or like you got to experience this mode. You compare that to Beetlejuice which we which we played the week prior, right? Yeah. Beetlejuice. The modes are drastically different. They feel distinct. They do feel distinct. Um um Evil Dead. I haven't played that game in six months. Yeah. And I probably have a general idea of kind of what the modes are. So, this mode I I'm glad that I actually This is a mode I keep thinking about, which it's going to show up here. This is the mode where um How often do you watch these videos? I don't. I just remembered this. This is death because this mode is the one where it's like, okay, the point of this mode is to hire Beetlejuice. Well, go back to the movie. Yeah. And they have to dig him up. Dig up. So, how do you how would you dig up Beetlejuice using this playfield? You hit three scoops. You're digging. Like, that makes sense. It's theme immersion. You dig three, then you shoot the headstone. His Beetlejuice headstone is on the playfield. So, you shoot the headstone. And then after you shoot the headstone, you have to interrogate him or or you're interviewing him to see if he's qualified for the job. So here I just I just shot the headstone. But what I like about Dune is you get halfway through the mode and you have the option to leave. You can cash out and you can stop and and by stopping that allows you to get further like towards a mini wizard mode, but if you really want to capitalize on points or really want to experience that mode, you're only halfway done. You got to keep going. Like I think modes that have phases like that are awesome. Those are fun modes. And then modes that are unique. So if we go back to um so Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, good modes. Oh, here here's my hot take, guys. I think Beetlejuice is going to be I think Evil Dead's amazing and always going to be amazing. I think Beetlejuice is going to like just be a little bit better once it's all said and done. My That's my feeling. I think Beetlejuice does a lot. Really? I do think Evil Dead shoots better. So, we got the same left ramp on the right. So, have extra glass slide around. No, it's fine. We have a left orbit shot. But the key here is this ramp is this ramp is how you got to the upper playfield. I think on the No, the upper playfield was actually this shot right here. Okay. So, on this one, they've added this new cool ramp. It's It's not a cool ramp. It's a stair fiveball avalanche lock. It's like a stair. do one of these and they lock. Yes, they lock five balls. That's pretty cool. And then you hit it and they all come out. Actually, they have a magnet to hold it. Okay, good. I was wondering if magnets. How do they work? No one knows. Yukon, they said they applied a magnet to the ramp to make sure the ball I thought the hitting the glass was cool. I thought that was cool. Okay, maybe not. So, they added this mech in the game. So, that's not here. this game there was a there was a uh a ramp, but if you look on this one, you would come up to the upper top where the where the where the Sasquatch was and you would hit with the upper flipper. You'd either hit to the right, which would create a loop, or the left shot is what fed that unique ramp. Okay. But now over here, over here, the flipper's here, flipper's here, and it's going this way and the Yeti's in a different yet there. He's white now. Yeah, we got So this one will loop around or this one will go over and feed that ramp. So he did a little flipperoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo up there. Okay. So is it open down here? So you hit off. So there's four flippers on this. That's That's a lot of flippers. So to get to the upper play field, you have to basically you're going to hit a shot here which will feed this upper flipper and then you you hit up this left side into that and this will create a vuck and then drops it down here. So to to experience this ramp, you're going to have to hit a shot which feeds this upper flipper. Hit this shot hit that shot to go all the way around. Cool. So it looks it looks cool. But so I understand why companies would I think you do need to do remakes sometimes for some of these older machines especially Voltater like when was Voltater 90s. Yeah. Peter Magic. Okay. So like just to get them out in the wild. Turner pinball. This is their third game and I understand it's hard to come in hot as a new pinball manufacturer with a with a with a madeup theme. Well, Ninja Eclipse is like and what's the vibes that we're getting off Turner? Turner is a couple guys that just want to make cool technology and cool pinball machines. So, they probably didn't have the resources to get all crazy on the first two. They don't have the money for the This to me is the closest to like not saying their first two games are great. I really enjoy them. They're very fun games. Interesting. Finland. This is the closest one to go like, "Hey, we don't have to pay a billion dollars for an IP, but it's similar enough to something." And we got the person involved to with that thing that people like. Yep. They got that we can do this without paying a big licensing fee. I do think this is smart for smart move. Not everybody, not everybody can do what Barrels of Fun did, which they came out with game one Labyrinth like came out with boom banger IP. Yeah, they not everybody can do that. So for Turner Pinball to prove, hey, we're we're locked in here. This is game three now and and the closest we can get to an IP y is let's do a remake, a version 2.0 know of a beloved game and let's add some cool talking about that Voltater Gez circuit volt. So I think this is cool. We are going to stream this. The challenge is I have no idea how long it's going to be before they actually start making these. So they are selling them. Yeah. Um and I know they've sold well and I think TPF this was this was the talk this was the talk of of TPF. talk of the TPS was Yukon Yeti. Yukon Yeti and then a lot of people had a chance for um Beetlejuice. So, no need for remakes except for Medieval Madness. Disney style art on Yeti is unfortunate. And the reason it's going to be 10 grand is because if I was American pinball and I go right here to pinside, what is Circus Volter selling for? An original one. $10, 000. So You should be able to charge 105, 11, 115 easy because this is brand new. Probably they're going to adjust lighting. They're going to do whatever. I would say give me four grand so I can get an LE vector. That's fine. Well, okay. But but here here's the the flaw in your logic, Joel. Okay. Because you are looking at everything from a value proposition. Interesting. I'd rather have the original every day. I'm pretty sure that guy owns 30 games. So, he's like, I don't want I don't need more. I don't like he wants variety. He wants to try things out. And there's people. Look, they're only And those are the collectors that Yes. They're only trying to sell 500 of them. You got to get 500 people to buy this. That's the goal. So, where are those five? Joel, what do you what what gets you what gets you all excited about pinball? What outside of machines that you think are fun for your family and friends? I need to take that. What I like about pinball, I the games that keep me playing, there we go. are the games that give me kinetic satisfaction. They they have to have shots that feel good. So when you hit those shots and you see that ball whipping around and it gives you that endorphin rush, it's got to feel good. But then I want to exper like I want to be feel like I'm working towards something. So I like modes that I feel like I'm progressing through, not just chopping wood at like, oh this mode is just 10 shots. Let me hit 10 shot. No, I want to feel like I'm experiencing something. Uhhuh. And then I want to be working towards like a mini wizard mode. So on one end you have a game like Monster Bash. Easy layout, but it has fun toys and mechs to interact with, fun shots, but I feel like it has very achievable goals. I enjoy a game like that. But then I have kinetic satisfaction. Do you get kinetic satisfaction from that? It's good enough. Monster kinetic satisfaction [clears throat] good enough to say, but then you have a game like X-Men where I think kinetic satis kinetic satisfaction is through the roof. I love the way that game shoots. Shoots amazing. So, even if the the call outs are somewhat lackluster, the music is okay, what keeps me coming back to that game is the way it shoots. And that's why I have really high hopes that they can continue to flesh out the code. They can continue to flesh out that code to get to draw me back in. That's why I'm excited about Dune. What I'm pumped about Dune, I know the prophecy modes are fun. I love playing those modes. But what I can't wait to play is get to Fay. [laughter] The Fay mode. Fay mode. Like that's what I want to. So what's the oldest turn that hasn't hit 1.0? Um Pin Mon would know. He'd be here. Okay. So you so you're you're you use that as the games that you join, which I think you can if you look at your lineup, right? With the worst theme, right? Godzilla, right? Good flow. Amazing flow. Shoots so good. And we're building the entire time. And the one thing I like about Godzilla and I appreciate more every time I play it is there's there's so many modes going on and you're build you're building multiple things at the same time which I think Kong is trying to get to but I'm a little I'm a little confused if Kong is it's I don't know if it's there yet or maybe I just I'm not smart enough. I love the way Kong shoots. Kong's great connect kinetic satisfaction. But I do think when you put Kong next to Jaws next to Godzilla and you put somebody like our dad in front of all four three of them, he's going to be able to play Godzilla and Jaws way more than Kong. Yeah. Way more than Kong because of the layout. But I really enjoy the layout. I The games that have stood out to me recently, like honestly, the games that blew me away, Foo Fighters. I had so much fun playing Foo Fighters. And once again, it's because kinetic satisfaction through the roof. And once I understood how to work towards Foobot, I was playing fun mode, the bot frenzy mode. Yeah, bot frenzy mode. Um, the individual modes are unique. You only have to beat one of them and then you're working your way through and then you get like that's everything that I like plus good audio because it has good music. I really enjoy that. That stream stood out to me a lot. Compare that to Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Texas Chain Chainsaw Massacre has fun modes because they're very unique, but the layout, the kinetic satisfaction, not as high is not nearly as high. It it it just it's not as good as a shooter as as like X-Men or Foo Fighters. And that's kind of where I'm at with Beetlejuice. I think Beetlejuice is a great game, but some of the shots I don't get the same kinetic satisfaction shooting Beetlejuice as I do other games. Now, is that a Now, for you that may be a bad thing? Sure. For me, like I what I'm finding I think is that the kinetic satisfaction is sweet when you get the games that like kind of do all of it, right? Where it's like which I I think Dune does. I think Dune has great kinetic flow to the game, right? As you're shooting the shots and when you get in the groove on that thing, it that ball is just flowing. You're like water, man. Yeah. Beetlejuice does not have that as much or Evil Dead. Both of those I don't think have as much of the kinetic satisfaction. But to me, where then I lean to more of the play what is happening on the playfield and the actions that you are taking Yeah. feed into the story that it is trying to tell you as you're playing the game. By the Dad, I just woke up. What do you want to know about turtles? Dad, you don't know anything about turtles about turtles. By the way, what's kinetic satisfaction? Kinetic satisfaction is that's what's special about pinball. It's the mechanical it's the physical interaction with this machine. And every machine has some form of kinetic satisfaction. So, some people kinetic satisfaction is like ba hitting a bash toy, seeing that ball react, hitting drop targets. Uh, other people it's hitting ramps, like just feeling that whipping it. Compare each game to Dune and explain why Dune is always the better option. That's the easiest thing to do. I don't think Dune I'm not saying Dune Godzilla. Who cares about giant lizards? Dune. Okay, Jared. Well, let's ask about um I think there's some games on here in this list of eight. We'll ignore Dune, but like how is Dune compared to Dune? Monsters. Pretty good shape. Monsters. I love the way Monsters shoots. I had a blast playing Monsters. So, do do you I think I know why I I like monsters, too. I really had a great time playing Monsters. Do you know why I think I like monsters? Uh because it's easy to understand what to do. Easy to understand what to do. And also, for me, monsters is what an old pinball machine should feel like. Like if someone if someone's like the nostalgia for old pinball machines that I don't have. But if you're like, "What is an older style machine and why do you enjoy it?" I think Monster's it. It's got a couple ramps on it. We got the cool Frankenstein up at the top that we're bashing like, and it's easy to understand. The bl the the playfield below is just a baller move. It's just a fun addition. Yeah. But I'm like, it's a pretty simple game when you explained it's yes fun. Ninja ramp. Dad's gonna say it's too hard. Every everything about it's too hard. Uh I really enjoyed monsters. I think Monsters is monster like it's almost a better version of Monster Bash. That's kind of my view of Monsters. But I do understand once again package on it is sick. The R package is incredible. But that's where I personally struggle with the code depth because I was able to achieve Monster Madness. I was able to get there. Yeah. Um, that's dad's view on turtles. Drain, drain, drain. It is hard. Uh, Bond. Bond was a game when we streamed this that really blew me away, honestly. Yeah. Like, Bond has a gazillion modes. Bond's really ste. Some of them stand out more than others, but I really all of a sudden this game actually shot really well or it was I enjoyed shooting this game. So, the the kinetic satisfaction, I'd give it a B+, a minus. Like, it's it's good. It's fun. But, um, there was a lot here that kept pulling me back because of so all the different ways you can attack it with all the different modes and all the different ways that you can experience it. I had a lot of fun with I I really I like Bond for the more modern sterns. Okay. I don't really enjoy the rocket ship. I feel like the rocket ship's kind of a lot of the area and there's a I just I don't get that as much, but then that cool like multi- ramp that you got over on the right, that's really cool. So, it's like it's got really cool ideas into it, but it's to me it's not it's it's like it's a really fun game. I really we do need to play Wick again because we do this this is my issue with with Beetlejuice. I have no problem shooting the scoop, shooting this captive ball, shooting this shot, shooting that that shooting this. I like this. I think this is an amazing mech to interact with. Love it. Scoops easy. All this. This is even an easy shot in my opinion. This left ramp. Find that shot. It's nice. The only way to experience this upper playfield. The only way to experience the upper playfield is this far left shot. And that shot is not a very smooth shot in my opinion. I don't know if that's something that could be tweaked or whatnot, but I just that's one of those things where I'm like, man, one more Whitewood or one more revision I think could have potentially how could they have made this left orbit smoother or like more consistent. But here's the thing. Look at that pinball machine. Just look at that franch. Oh, it's so good. It's so good. But then you get to the top. Dad just described. Our dad just his dad. I don't I doubt he subscribed. But yeah, uh when you get up to the top then you play up here, but it it all it it just goes so fast. I don't know. It's it's like you've dedicated fine the olds I'm not but anyway I don't trying to get me riled up again. That's that's my only issue with Beetlejuice is that upper section. It's a cool section. I really like the couch mech, but I just I struggle with the one shot that feeds that upper section. And I was trying to compare this to like like Foo Fighters has a really cool upper playfield, but the shot to get up there, the right ramp is pretty hard shot. So, it's hard to experience that. But I feel like like if we compared it to Foo, you're losing out on more of the playfield than you are on Beetlejuice if you can't hit that shot. That Okay. Okay. So, Beetle shoot, it's a scoop and the couch up there. And the couch doesn't even You don't even put the balls on the couch there. You shoot it on the couch. It's on the right on the on the bottom. So, so we're talking about kinetic satisfaction. Hobbit used to be one of my favorite games. Let's add Bizarro Jared. Why isn't Bizarro Jared here? Ryan, you mean more Bizarro Jared less real Jared? Hobbit used to be easily used to be one of my favorite games because of the theme immersion. The modes are super unique. The sound package is so freaking good. But I realized after playing so much pinball, the overall cons overall kinetic satisfaction of this game, Scott Alen alien, there does need to be a gorilla as pinball machine. Why have I never thought of this? That would be the greatest in integration of two things. Oh my goodness. We need Gorillas Pinball so bad. We need it now. The new album's a banger, by the way. Maybe one day. I think this game Hobbit to me I really like I really like the beast targets. I really like them a lot but there's a lot of this pinball machine that just the kinetic satisfaction is like C C plus it's just but the modes got something it's just okay love theme of Predator Predator is another game where I didn't love the way it shot. Yeah, that one was that one was definitely. So, the kinetic satisfaction of that game is just And that's hard. It's hard for me to look past to really love a game. Now, didn't we have the flippers wrong though on this one? No, we that was all okay. I thought there was one that we didn't have them powered up enough. That was Dune. We had the whole game set up the first time we did it. Uh, what else? Winchester. Jared, what are your thoughts now that Winchester more people have experienced Winchester? More people have experienced it now. More people have played it now that it's been a TPF. When you think back to your time playing this game, hard hard game. Hard game. I think that is fair. It is a hard layup. It is a challenging game. Winchester is not made for me. I think that's well said. I think Winchester, it's not made for you. But this is a game I loved this game. This is just this is the level of difficulty that I am all about. I want to keep coming back for the sound package, the modes are very unique. The way that you progress through the game, everything about this game I absolutely love. Is this a novice a a novice friendly game? No. No, it's not. And look, I know you all make fun of me. I'm a little bit above a novice at this point. You're above. It's not even for me. like it just it's not and that's okay. I I don't that I don't need to love that machine. Then how do you feel about Star Wars fall the empire? This is a layout that is supposed to be for you. All they needed to do I have they figured out the death star yet? Yes, the Death Star has been fixed. Really? Winchester suck. I don't agree with that. I then I love Star Wars. They have fixed this. So, this is a very easy to understand layout. Easy to understand what to shoot. Okay. Yeah. So, there's a benefit to that. I can literally shut my brain off, shoot blinking lights, and do Star Wars stuff. I love Star Wars stuff. There's nothing wrong with that. Okay. With that, if you compare that then to Harry Potter, Harry Potter, I feel like if you shoot your if you shut your brain off, everything's lit. Everything's at your face. You can't like Harry Harry har Okay. If we're are we are we talking about Harry Potter? Yeah. Focus is the right term. You can play it in a different way, so many different ways, and it's the only game that they've made one run of. So, I would be am I immediately going to jump on that remake list? No, I'm not. But would I be excited if they remade it? Absolutely. Because it's really really But I I don't think Attack from Mars is better than Cactus. [laughter] I don't think I'm going to play this one. I think you can tweak that left shot and once you can get that left shot smooth, that is going to greatly improve the overall way that game plays in my opinion. Uh, mode lock and Juno are absolute drainers. I didn't have issues with the mode lock, but they they could also always just turn on a ball save when the ball comes out of those things. What pins would you all recommend for a new pin buyer? a new pin buyer, brand new, I would recommend buying a Stern Pinball machine. Yes, they're easy to maintain, easy to manage. The first thing I would recommend bowling pin is find your local arcade. Play as much pinball as you can. And really, that's how you're going to hone in on what you like and what you don't like. Um, I really am a fan of this game, Cactus Canyon behind me. I think it's a very approachable game to every skill level. Nah, go play machines. I I just if I just have to recommend otherwise people are going to recommend Godzilla all day long. Very approachable game. Jaws is a very good game. I would say try Godzilla. Try Jaws. Deadpool's great. Deadpool. There's a lot of really good games out there. Play as much as you can. Even though try like a John Wick or a D and D or a Dungeons and Dragons or just [snorts] get D.
