Okay, welcome back to another episode of Jurassic Park the Lost World. You guys are enjoying the action so far. I got bunch of comments and um got some um bets that have been placed in terms of how many episodes this series may take. Let's uh kind of graze down a couple here. Um, oh yeah, I was asking in the last episode whether this might be the rarest DMD game that I've ever owned. And um, Kev says that uh, CSI had a run of about three or 400, but he's not sure if that's accurate. So, I pulled that up on the old pinides, and pinside does say there was a,000 produced. So, close. I did have a CSI, but Jurassic Park is rarer. Um, Espresso says, "These boards look mint." Um, says, "Sega games are goated." "Does the snagger work?" asks Sean Griffin. Well, I think today's the day we're going to find out. Smitty, he's been around for a while. He's guessing 13 episodes. And um oh, so SJC Entertainment says, "Didn't you own a high roller casino?" Well, me and Kevin did own one together. And check this out. 500 made. So, that is a rarer DMD game. So, good call on that. So, this could be the second rarest DMD game that I've ever owned. Unless we can think of any others. And what else? Oh, Helen says, "You have to tell me what month has 36 days in it." Um, and if you don't know what that references, then you're gonna have to go back and watch the previous episode. And I said, "Deceuary, of course." Mark Jackson says 15 episodes. Good luck with the egg. Yes, thank you. I'm going to need that. Neozone says 14 episodes. Fantastic find says Vinnie Code says seven leps. And um lots of comments. Don't break the egg. Impossible to get. Yeah, probably literally impossible. So, uh I think my egg's already broken, so I'm going to have to try and repair it. We'll see how that goes. In the last episode, I installed NV RAM, got rid of the battery pack, kind of cleaned things up, inspected things, and since I have done that, I'm going to turn it on for the first time. So, I don't have balls in it. It may get a little cranky because of that. Oh, you know what? Before we do that, we kind of need some power. So, let's see. Is it already turned on? The Envy Ram works cuz uh occasionally uh I think once at least once I had an Envy RAM that didn't work. So, every time I put one in, I wonder if it's going to work or not. But, we have success. When I turned it on, I saw that the code is at 1.0, zero. Which reminds me that I just paid for new ROMs from pinballrom.com. Davis still. I ordered a new set, a display ROM and a CPU ROM for this. They're at like 2.03 and 2.02. So, we'll get some updated code for that. And with that order, I also grabbed Kevin his mousing around Saurin ROMs. and also uh Medieval Madness Code the uh censored version because they have the uncensored version in there and Dutch likes the OG. I'm Howard Herz and who the beep are you rather than the actual uncensored version. And I on board with Dutch. I like the OG. It's it's just it's got that charm to it with the uh the censored. So anyway, I got some ROMs coming. So, how are we going to do this? What are we going to do? Should I jack up the back, throw in some balls, and see to what degree this thing is working or not?

    Okay, so need to investigate the egg mech snagger mech. Order a flipper rebuild kit and a uh new drop target. I'm going to go throw that on the list. But, uh, yeah, I think we got a good foundation to work with here. Oh, yeah, and a new target. So, I'm going to start my to-do list. I stumbled across video mode. Check this out. Uh, okay. That didn't last very long. Okay, first things first. I found the drop target assembly in the manual. It's got two coils, one to drop the target and one to raise it. So, I'm going to have to make sure both those coils are working. And at the bottom here, can I blow this up a little bit? Yeah. Here we go. There is our part number. So, I pop that into a search and pinball life has exactly what I need for $2.95.

    Okay, so we actually do know from playing the game that the drop target does work going up, but I'm going to run the test anyways. Okay, here we go. Drop target reset. Hit the start button. Okay, now I just got to see if I can drop it now. Okay, here we go. Drop target down test. I find on a lot of games these fail. So, I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work. Here we go. Yay. It actually works. Okay. Awesome. All right. Let's see if I can locate one of these green targets cuz this is definitely um not correct. These guys are all good. So, I found the part number in the manual. That is uh number 14 here. There's one, two, three, four, five. So number 14 is modular S-u target narrow flow green

There's the right number there. So, that is pretty sweet. I'll add that to my list. Okay. Uh I can't find the part number for the carriage bolt for the hinge that I'm missing. I never did check thoroughly in my coin box, but no, there's really nothing in there. So, I checked my stash and I do have this guy here. I got a bag full of them and the nuts and it does fit. Oops. It fits perfectly, but I just need to cut it a little short. So, if I can hacksaw this down a little bit without screwing up the threads, then I might be in business. So, I think I'm going to give that a try. All right. Hey, honestly, I probably should just spent the freaking 50 cents to get a new one, but halfway there, so might as well keep going now.

    Okay, I filed it down just a little bit. And check this out.

    It actually works now. Did I get the right length? That is the question. All right. Close, but no cigar. It's actually too short. And that is because I discovered that there is supposed to be a spacer. Don't know if you can see it in between the hinge and the cabinet that is about yay thick. So, I'm going to use this washer here to act as the spacer on the other side, but it was tight to begin with. Once I add the spacer, it ain't going to work. So, could have cut me a longer bolt, but then I should be good. Okay, I managed to get away with using the first bolt that I cut. I don't know if you can see. I got to find the sweet spot here. kind of put in a thick washer in between and got it like halfway threaded. It's on there tight and I think it's going to be good. Do I have it unlatched? Look at this.

    You know, it's hinging. I don't think it's going to fall off. Is it moving or spinning? That's on there. Good. Oh, it's turning a little bit. But how many times is this thing going to be hinged on and off in its life? You know, like be moved a few times, but I don't think that bolt's going to fall off. So, I'll give it one more crank.

So, I thought might I might lower the whole snagger mech so that I can access that solenoid and test it for continuity and see if uh one of the wires is broken off or something. But this is the Snagger pickup magnet test. And check this out. Going to activate it and

All right, check this out. I found this snagger test. It's not under coils. You got to go over here to Lost World specific snagger test here. Snagger motor test there. out. Let's run it and see what happens. Place ball in inner orbit. Inner orbit. What the hell? Okay, so it shows that the home switch is closed. That's perfect. So run. Is this inner orbit or put it? I don't think it wants me to put it there. Oh, like that orbit? No. Okay, I'm hitting run. Oh, wait. It's happening. There we go.

    So, I didn't see inner loop gate switch 37 go off, but I saw down go off. Place ball in inner orbit.

    Okay, so that works. All right. Uh, not sure what it all means, but let's go over to the motor test. So, it's in the home position. Drop target is down. That's registering. Uh, let's go up.

    and home. Drop target down. All seems good. The only thing is it's down now, but the switch isn't closed, right? So, I got to hit it a little more and then a little more. So, maybe that is a micro adjustment I need to make and run.

    Oh, that's just motor test. That ain't going to deal with the magnets. Okay, we can quit. All right, so for whatever reason, everything seems to work. Except it doesn't work. Okay, I know it is obvious, but I kind of figured out how to make the snagger test happy. So just in terms of place ball in inner orbit, I didn't know what to do but you what you do is place the ball in the inner orbit like this. Okay. Then you hit run. Then you let go. Then it registers that switch. Then it does the whole thing. So, it's all working perfectly except that magnet just isn't picking it up. But the magnet works. It's just not strong enough or the timing's off. Not sure yet, but it's not a complete disaster at least. Okay, I'm going to try another little test here. I've got the Snagger in the down position and I'm going to run the Snagger pickup magnet solenoid test and see if it's still behaving. So, I don't know if I can cheat this test or not. Should be fine. Just don't know if the truck's going to want to like go back to normal, but I just pulled the interlock switch. We've got power, so it should be fine. Let's hit the start button.

    Got nothing. H maybe we got a a loose wire or something. Could be something as simple as that. Okay. Maybe it's the case that there is a broken wire and when the snagger's down, it's not making continuity. And when the snagger is up, it is. So, let's run the solenoid test again with the snagger up. See if this magnet grabs.

    See that? It works. So, I think we have a crappy wire. Okay. My idea is to replace these wires going to this solenoid. Oh, look. I removed three of the four screws here. They're on there tight, but I'm pretty sure they were lock tighted in there from the factory.

    There's our problem. This might be an easier fix than I thought. If I can uh get some good access here, I can just resolder that guy. We're on to something. Okay, so using the motor test, I move the whole thing up. And check this out. That's about as good of access as I could have hoped for. So, that is awesome. I really hope that uh it's that simple. I mean, took me a bit to diagnose it, but I mean, broken wire, come on. There's no way that it's that simple. All right, that's soldered back on there. Well, so I'm going to lower this mech and then we'll test out this solenoid. I could probably just do it like this. Actually, I decided to lower the mech and throw the ball in it. No. Coin box latch, a washer, lock washer, a screw, and this little bracket. Not sure what that's for yet. And then I was going to go do some more fishing. And I see that there's a little love letter back there. So, I thought we'd fish that out together and see what it says. And there's a little envelope there, too. Oh, that's exciting. Okay, here's the egg mech and just reading some of the parts. We've got uh let's see egg mounting hinge. We got an eggshell weight and a rocker plate. So, here is the weight here. Here is our hinge. And um so definitely does hinge forward. So started messing with it over here and and I tried to like pry the hinge open with a screwdriver. It didn't really work. But if you pull up the T-Rex, which is listed in the manual as a finger puppet, by the way, check out what happens.

    So, I'm wondering if I throw this in solenoid test, it might actually work. Now, here's also some good news. this egg. Yeah, it's broken, but it's all there. So, if I can just um repair that, then I think the rest of the egg is fully intact minus tiny little crack back here, which doesn't seem to affect anything. Maybe there's a chunk missing here. Not really sure, but I think they're available. I don't know. It's pulling up a website here. Oh, you know what? I don't think it ever populated. Uh, it was Was it Pinball House? Yeah, I tried to click on that and it took Oh, wait a minute. $60.75 US is it? Oh, there's two in stock. Huh. Wow. I might potentially have to go that route if needed, but uh that's cool to know that exists. We've got egg mount hinge here for 60 bucks. That is actually available. Good to know. And yeah, Marcos just has it listed for reference. Uh they do not actually have this available, the front eggshell, but anyway, uh let's throw this in solenoid test and see if it works now. Okay, I'm not sure what happened there, but turned on the machine, it went into ball search, the snagger started coming down, and then the screen just went blank and everything froze. Turned it off, turned it back on, and it happened again. So, I don't know what the f's going on with that. But, uh, when that rears its head again, I'll have to address it cuz I'm sure it will. All right, let's see if the dino egg is going to do its thing now in 3 2 1. Oh, wait a minute. Why don't you just stay up? He just wants to like pump the egg.
