Oh, listener, you always give me something to believe in. Here on the Pinball Show, we're in episode 82. I'm your host, Zach Minney. And it's been a long week, hasn't it? Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrate. For myself, I'm just returning home from out of town. I don't know if you're the same, but for me, after being away from my pinball collection for a week, there's just nothing like turning them all on and just flipping around for a night. For example, last night, listener, I turned on three games. My current collection is 18, 19 games. Three games I turned on. Are you like that? I'll go around every night and I'll turn on just a handful of games. Maybe one, but up to usually five. And that's it. And I'll play them. Last night, I turned on three games. Those three games are Jurassic Park Premium, Tales of the Arabian Nights, and Rick and Morty. And it felt great. None of those three are going anywhere anytime soon. Call me crazy, but I still believe to this day that Jurassic Park by Stern Pinball is the modern-day Metallica. It's just one of the best pinball games ever made. My buddy Greg Bone from Straight Down the Middle recently installed the Impact Mods, Tim Butler's Raptor Gate Mod for that with the lights and everything. He was impressed with it. I've still got to install mine, but I'm stoked to install as well. But finding time, geez, I can't find time to install all of these mods. I hate clutter under a pinball machine. It's like a big pet peeve of mine when you go and you see this awesome collection and all this crap under the cabinets of these pinball machines. I can't stand that. But I'm guilty of it because under nearly every one of my machines lies a whole batch of uninstalled modifications for those machines. Maybe I need to hire a flipping out person to be a mod installer for my collection. Now hiring. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving week. I'm thankful for a lot of things, my family, my friends. I'm thankful to have this show. I'm thankful for you, the listener and the supporter. I cannot begin to express how thankful I am for your continued support over the years. The old pinball calendar schedule for most manufacturers is starting to dry up a little bit, as time is running out to get those sales in while they can during this all-important time when consumers buying is at an all-time high. But of course, with most manufacturers really only being able to produce one title, if that a year, and the supply chain crunch still limiting choice, what can you buy today with those few extra shekels sloshing around in those stretched out skinny jeans or bulging sweatpants? Well, you've saved up your hard-earned dollars, fought off your significant other's sideways glances and threats to have you sleep on the couch for the rest of your life, and took the deep and wonderful plunge into the world of pinball by buying yourself one of 17 modern classics from Stern that have been produced over the last four years. Amazing! And now you've heard that Stern is taking it all up a notch by taking the whole damn experience online in the form of an internet-connected kit that will be sold to you for the cost of one of those, you know, antiquated video game consoles like anyone's playing those things anymore. And hey, that kit and the Stern Online world it unlocks just recently received a massive new code update for Stern's most popular eight titles, including Deadpool. and you're just dying to get your hands on one of those babies as it looks like so much damn fun.

It basically sits behind the lightbulb art on the plastic and lights it up with LEDs showing a bunch of different animations. These change colors and have patterns like chase lights and one that mimics a VU meter. They're really quite cool and are being made by Kyle Virgin. That's with two Ns. It's good to see and hopefully there'll be a ton available at the Texas Pinball Festival this coming March. But first, let's jump over to Elk Grove Village, where Stern Pinball continues to be the North Pole of the industry. Wait, did you guys see this last week? Santa Stern, Gary Stern, they're at the factory on Thanksgiving working his ass off. I don't know if he was working his ass off. But in the pictures, he was making it look like he was working his ass off. On the line, creating what we all love and are obsessed with, and that is pinball machine products. All of that stuff on the line, you're going to be seeing not only by the end of the year, but by the end of the week probably. I've seen Jurassic Park the pins leaving. I've even seen some Mandalorians. You guys see those little Mandalorian pictures out there? We're still waiting for confirmation on what this pro and premium Mandalorian run is going to look like in December here. So stay tuned for that. I've reached out to Stern to get some more details and specifics on, are they going to be the full allotments that dealers were told this summer that was coming in December? Are they going to be split? Are they going to be pushed? I've seen Mandalorians, so I think they're coming. I just don't know how many yet. Make a hell of a Christmas present, wouldn't it? And at Flippin' Out Pinball, we still have Mando Armor, Mando Side Arts, still waiting for those shooter knobs, and that topper. But great things come to those who wait. Shit, if that's not the theme of pinball in 2022, I don't know what will be. But that topper, once approved, that thing is going to sell machines. Now, this last week, Canada's Pinball Podcast reporting that after this rumored Rush pinball machine that everybody's talking about at the end of the year or early next year, Stern Pinball is going to be turning to a Marvel Comics-themed pinball machine as their next cornerstone. I'm thinking probably Q1 into Q1 spring, springtime. If this is true, this is when we would see this. I would guess that if it is a cornerstone, we're going to be seeing Brian Eddy on design. That would be my guess. Because who else do we have in the pipeline? We've got John Borg on the rumored next cornerstone at the end of the month here. Steve Ritchie is gone. and even if he had one, maybe we see whatever Steve was working on, which I think ultimately will be a George Gomez title. Keith Elwin just came out with Godzilla, so we're going to have to wait for that. And unless there's a brand new designer in the wings waiting for a Cornerstone release, I think it'll be a Brian Eddy. Now we know that Stern Pinball has a great relationship with Marvel Studios, Marvel Comics. From what I've been hearing around the water cooler, if it is a Marvel title, it's one that I think a lot of people are going to enjoy and one that's not been done before by Stern this isn't a retread if you will well well kind of for the most part huh what else is coming up this next year with Stern Pinball how about another music pin next year dad rock dad rock anyone okay well how about a younger dad rock anyone oh boy stern pinball was such a giver this last week did you guys check this out this code explosion stern pinball was throwing candy yams at people this last week with all of the code dropping candy yams would that not be the best thanksgiving side to be able to throw in a food fight yams we're having a discussion over Thanksgiving. Now, if you get the Insider Connected, you're going to have access to that Goat Mania mode. So I think that's pretty cool. Now, I've got to tell you, whenever Stern announced this cornucopia of code release, theme appropriate, of course, we started seeing sales on our website at FlippinOutPinball.com of everybody ordering, pre-ordering these Insider Connected kits, pros and premiums.

    Everybody's ordering. A bit overwhelming, to be honest with you, because they kind of announced, oh, here's new code for your Insider Connected kits. Wait, guys, I had to be the bad guy again and explain to everybody that it's fine that these are getting updated, but you're not going to see these kits start shipping until 2022. I don't know how many emails I answered. Hey, are these in stock? Unfortunately, no. You're going to have to be patient. 2022 is coming with these kits. And as many as have been ordered thus far, there's going to be a wait list everywhere. Just like there are games. Everybody wants these kits, including myself. Over the next week or so, you're going to start seeing the insider kits ship to operators. These retrofit kits to go on their Spike 2 LCD games. A lot of eligible games now, so that's great. They're trying to get them out to those operators first. Then in 2022, you're going to start seeing them roll out. Speaking of game delays overall, American Pinball, where in the hell are you at with Legends of Valhalla? Are they shipping? Maybe they're shipping. I don't know if they're shipping. Why don't I know that they're shipping? I have no clue. Another Dr. John report this week. He had a great story about the Haggis Pinball Company. He spoke of a Haggis employee driving numerous hours to help with a new Kelts customer. Listener, I do anticipate we see this type of dedication to customer service in the future from Haggis Pinball. They're kind of positioning themselves over the last year or two to be the spooky pinball outside of the United States. So expect continued transparency, almost to a fault, which I love, as well as some bumps and bruises along the way. Just one example of their passion is Damien and the team doing everything that they can to get a brand new Kelts Highland Edition pinball machine to the Cincinnati convention this week as a show of support. I get it, many hobbyists are growing a bit impatient with the production of Fathom Revisited. And yeah, I'm the least patient person you're ever going to meet. But because this title was originally developed in 1981, I think it helps with that weight. It's Fathom. It's going to be stunning. And everyone will quickly forget the weight once they start shipping out. For a young company like this, and with the additions and extra touches they are building into this title, for me personally, I say get it right, don't rush it. I may be wrong, but I feel like Fathom Revisited is more of a collector piece, with great competition upside. I don't think you're going to see these flooding local arcades in the future is what I'm saying. Then again, maybe I'm conditioned for this type of wait. Albeit not entirely the same, I have a Stern Stargazer that's being built, listener, and I have been waiting, I don't know, over a year on it. It doesn't bother me a bit. Like the Fathom Mermaid Edition I have on order, it'll get here when it gets here. And when it does, everyone's going to want one for their personal collection. I really don't see this title losing steam or losing value compared to something like we're seeing with the spooky pinball pre-orders. The real question, though, for you is this. Will Fathom Revisited be the most beautiful and luxurious pinball machine released in 2022? And thanks to Pappy Dr. John for the vinyl history lesson there. Now, a really nice example, maybe you can squeeze $8,000 or $9,000. Home use only or restored or minty greatness, that is my expectations of an old System 11 WPC hybrid. Sure, $10,000 plus. I'm fine with that. Better have a new play field. Better have all new parts. That's what you're going to get for $10K+. Shame on all of you listing your beat-up-ass fun houses for $10K. What in the hell is selling for a loss in the pinball market right now? Ouch! Average loss for a Halloween pre-order right now is about 500 bucks. I really do not anticipate this game in the market that is right now to become the 2022 version of Rob Zombie, but it does have me hedging my outlook a bit. You get it? Hedging?

Sure, it's not the premium LE version, the superior version with one of the greatest toys and mechs in all of pinball history. Sure, it's not. It's still Star Wars. It's got the comic art blades, a custom Millennium Falcon, Titan flipper rubbers, plastic protectors, an X-Wing flying, translucent backlit drop targets, red and blue, trough lighting. $6,800, take it. I don't like that they put pictures of the lightsaber mod in the shooter lane, and then they show pictures of the speaker lighting kits, but then it says lightsaber and speaker lights not included. What the hell? Is this a shitty 90s toy ad? See if you can't spend $7,000 and keep the speaker light kits and the lightsaber on there. I'm only increasing the price because if it's the one, I think Nero, the one that I'm thinking of, the lightsaber, it is extremely impactful. one of the best mods out there for any game, much less Star Wars, and it's kind of a pain in the ass to install. And your last deal of the week this week is one that's not even a pinball part. We know toppers are all the rage. You're welcome. And we know that Willy Wonka is now being loved by the masses. So why not go on Pinside right now? Individual by the name of NJDevils30 is selling outside of, looks like outside of New Jersey, maybe New York, a Willy Wonka topper from a slot machine. You guys have seen this, right? And we know that Jersey Jack didn't make the most beautiful topper for the Willy Wonka collector's edition or even the accessory for the standard or LE version.
