Sous-titrage ST' 501 Pinball Nerds Podcast. Coming to you from beautiful River Higgins, Nova Scotia. Welcome back, Pimball Nerds, to episode 676 of your fifth favorite pinball podcast. My name is Orbital Albert. On today's episode, I have some big news for you guys. Now, you've probably already heard about it. It's been all over the internet today. Well, my friend who you just heard sing that beautiful intro song, Mr. Glenn the Skateboarder. Or Glenn, can I still call you Glenn the Skateboarder? Do I got to be respectful? Now that you've been hired by P3 Multimorphic, do I have to call you Glenn Wechter? I'll just call you Glenn. How about that? I don't know. Maybe it's fun. Maybe just in private I'll do it as a joke. Or maybe I can get a shirt printed that says, I'm Glenn the Skateboarder's biggest fan. Anyways, many of you would know Glenn in the past not just from doing really good sound work on such homebrew titles as Saw and now possibly being produced, I believe, Monster League Hockey. I was going to call it Zombie Hockey, but I know it's Monster League Hockey, I think. So and then many of you, of course, would know Glenn not just from my very small podcast, but you would know him from, you know, he's worked with Loser Kid before.
1:51
Ron and Bruce over there at Slam Tilt. He's done stuff for the D. Jenny's. He's he's he's honestly worked with almost every pinball podcast and done some type of special song at some point. And so thank you, Glenn, so much for that. I said this and I wasn't kidding. Something I can't personally rate now or like all day even trying to like think of anyone else more deserving who has given more to Pinball that I would want to see go work at a company other than Glenn. He's just done so much pro bono for me. I know at one point I sent him a 60-ouncer of what used to be a Crown Royal bottle now filled with maple syrup, which is worth a hell of a lot more than Crown Royal. Even though to Glenn he was like, what is this strange Canadian liquid you have sent me? And I'm like, sir, up here that is like gold. Like that is from my homestead that I, you know, boiled down myself. But anyways, that's all I've ever paid him. And Glenn, I probably owe you another million bottles of that by now because that was many years ago, probably five or six years ago. But I'm just going to rewind a little bit if it's okay and talk about the moment that I met Glenn. And why is he called Glenn the skateboarder? Is it because him and I go skateboarding all the time together? Absolutely not. In fact, little known fact, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it, I've never actually got to meet Glenn in person. But thankfully, many years ago, the reason I started this podcast is because, frankly, I was bored and I had broken my wrist while doing a rock and roll on the edge of the coping. I got caught up and I broke my wrist. I broke my left wrist and I was told by doctors that I couldn't lift anything heavier than a teacup for 8 to 12 weeks and that specifically by my doctor, if I wasn't making money like Tony Hawk from skateboarding, I should no longer be skateboarding because I work for a living. And at the time I had a lawn care company and I did lose out on thousands of dollars because I was no longer able to do all the lawn care that I had set up for the entire summer. So long story short, a couple of weeks later, I started a pinball blog and honestly, probably a couple dozen episodes in Glenn, the skateboarder reaches out to me and he had heard the story that I just told you about how I'd hurt my wrist skateboarding and I wouldn't be able to skateboard much anymore. And he's sending me all these pictures of him skateboarding and doing it like, like, no, no, no, no. I'm an okay skateboarder. I can land a kickflip. I can land a 360 pop shove it. Probably, you know, I never was that good. I was maybe like a C plus skateboarder at best. You know what I mean? I was not very good in the skateboard.

Skatepork? Why is there a pig in this? I was nuts. It's Charlotte's Web all over again. I was not very good at much other than just mostly primarily flatland tricks. I did like to string together three or four tricks, which was fun, but what I got much more known for was recording videos, and I actually got better at recording and editing the videos than actually being the person on the skateboard that was in the video. But Glenn sent me some pictures proving that this man is a freaking gnarly skateboarder He can skate full vert He can skate pools Pools is like a whole that goes from level A to A Then above that, he can do, I remember just off the top of my head, I have not looked at these in years, Glenn, but he can do really, really solid tricks that you think in the realm of, I'm not saying he's Tony Hawk or something like that, But he certainly is like out of an – he's not an amateur. He's at least a novice. I'm kind of an amateur. He's at least a novice. He's a different level. And it's the same thing when you talk about my gameplay with Glenn and even statistically looking at our IFPA. He is leaps and bounds ahead of me in understanding especially – Glenn is always the guy I go to if I really need to know the rule set on something. So I don't know if he's quite, again, Surge level. Okay, Surge from PinPals over there. Another shout-out. I love it when a new game comes out, listening to it, even though I don't understand half of it. But Cale Hernandez and Serge over there on the Electric Bat podcast do a Pimpal show every time a new game comes out, and they deconstruct all of the rules. Well, Glenn is like a dude who could listen to that and actually understand it, okay? So if Serge is like the Tony Hawk of rules, Glenn is honestly not too, too far behind, I would think, on a lot of that stuff. And maybe I'm giving Glenn a bit too much, but not only is it what I'm saying is not only is he is a very good friend, he's very charitable, he's very giving, he helps with all the other pinball podcasts, he sends me pictures of him with no shirt doing grinds on the coping. But no, he's always been very generous right from the start. I don't think it was just my podcast he reached out to. I think it was pretty much all of them. And good for him for doing that, because honestly, over the years, that's how everyone got to slowly know him. And I would assume some of the people over at Multimorphic heard about him. Maybe not so much from like my podcast, but probably from, you know, Loser Kids, obviously one of the most popular pinball podcasts on planet Earth. They did a really, really well done Christmas show one time and Glenn did like a 12 days of Christmas podcasting for them. And he kind of made fun or poked fun, you know, in a friendly way at each of the other pinball podcasts. And like on the 12th day of Christmas, Orby gave to me six packs of craft beer four. I don't know, whatever, something like that. I can't remember it. Glenn would remember more than me. But not only that, Glenn has been very generous with his time. Anytime I've had an issue or like people have came at me or maybe I'm, you know, going through a tough time, he's always just honestly stopped what he's doing. Even though he's a family man, he's very busy with his kids, his wife, his job. He also, and his side projects, geez, like he's been doing homebrew now for years and years and years. It feels like almost since COVID or longer, he's been involved in either homebrew or helping with sound outside of even helping with stuff for podcasts. So he's always just the most generous guy with his time. And I couldn't be happier to find out that anyone else that I can know or even think of in pinball is now going to be at least working. You know, I don't know if he's like a full-time employee. I don't know how that works. But basically, he's going to be working with them on an upcoming project. Now, what I can't say, and I'm not willing to even, I guess I can tell you that everybody else says that there's an upcoming project called Dungeon Crawler Carl. Have you heard of it? Of course you have. But, God damn it, donut. All right. Okay. I can do better than that. I can do better than that. I have to have just heard it. But no, I'm almost done book two. I may or may not have got fired from my job or released or not had my term renewed, depending on how you look at it. But it's all fancy words to say you're fired. And so because of that, my work phone, which had my audible on it, is gone. And I'm going to be, you know, I'm sure it's attached to like my email or something. I'll have to I'll have to I'll have to finish listening to books soon, too. But what I don't know is I don't know which projects Glenn is working on. And I've also heard there's rumors that Multimorphic P3 is coming out with more than one P3 Multimorphic. Sorry, I should probably say it correctly if Glenn's working there now. I don't know. They could be coming out with two projects at once. So I don't have any clue if there is any truth to Dungeon Crawler, Carl, even though where there's smoke, there's fire usually in pinball. I mean, if I had to guess on my boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, albertometer, okay, I would guess probably 80% chance, you know, and again, I've heard none of this from anyone that works at Multimorphic, certainly not Glenn. I didn't even know until this morning that Glenn worked there. So, wow, what an interesting piece of news to find out. Now, Glenn, also good luck. You have a big tournament today as well. So I don't know if Glenn was working on Dungeon Crawler Carl. I don't even know for sure. I mean I think a company has Dungeon Crawler Carl because we saw all those tweets from was it Matt I can remember his name but the dude who yeah I think Dungeon Crawler Carl is has the IP by a pinball company somewhere We just don't know for sure, for sure, if it's multimorphic. After seeing Portal and what they did for Portal, I really, really, really hope it's P3 multimorphic because they might be the right company to implement this video game-esque type of theme. And I guess everybody, including I know my buddy Jamie there from the JBS show, Jamie Burchill, he's visited. Multiple other content creators have visited, and they've all said after they played it, it was incredible, and that's about all they can say. And I reached out to Glenn, and I said, hey, man, now that you work there, when can I get an interview? And he said, probably not quite right now. I suspect Glenn may have, without giving away too much information, I suspect Glenn may have done an interview with possibly another. Pinball podcast that should be released soon. But once that's happened, we've ripped the Band-Aid off. We'll have him over here on the Pinball Nerds podcast in a while.
    11:00
Once there's probably more information to share at that point, if you know what I mean, about any upcoming projects, possibly, hopefully, wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Oh, my God, I got lemon in my eye. So, yeah, I think that whatever project he worked on, it's going to be awesome because he's done such a great job. I will say this. It's going to get harder and harder and harder to be impartial because Glenn's been on the show more than anyone else. Glenn, write me when you listen to this. I'm guessing it's six to seven times. I'm not trying to meme over here, okay? I didn't just do the weird thing with my hands. It could even be eight, okay? But I believe only second most to him would be Ian Harrewer, who is also a designer over there. Not that Glenn's a designer. I think Glenn is a sound designer, engineer, sound engineer. I think that's the term. Why do I not have Facebook up right now? I didn't want to have Facebook up so I couldn't hear any messages coming in or any, you know, if you get notifications and ruin the audio on today's show. But at the same time, I wanted to make sure that, you know, I was respectful. So I did write down here that I did ask Glenn to answer just one question for me. How hard was it for you to not tell all your pinball friends that you were working with P3 Multimorphic or on a new project like that? And he said it was incredibly difficult to not tell all of his friends. And he also did say that he was super proud, in quotes, super proud of what he had worked on. So I can't wait to hear what you've done, Glenn. You know, if it's anything like everything you've done in the past, I'm sure that you knocked it out of the park. Sorry, Franchi. But I can't wait to see what P3 Multimorphic does. My biggest complaint about P3 Multimorphic is I would like to see them more places so I could play it more often.
    12:48
Again, at Ian Harrow's Close, I got to play the Barnyard game a long time ago. Did he have Lexi Lightspeed? I don't think so. I'm trying to remember what else. I've got to play maybe five or six of the games, but I know they're up to like 25 now, right, with third party and everything else, additions. And then also tribe members. So you're listening here on the Poor Man's Pinball Network, of course, to Orby. And one of our tribes members is Glenn. And then another one of our tribes members is Ian Harwer. And then another one of our tribes members is Stephen Silver. And I believe Stephen Silver was the lead on Princess Bride. And maybe Weird Al. And then I believe Ian Harwer was one of the three main designers that was on Portal. So it's getting harder for me to be impartial between Glenn, Stephen, and Ian all working there.
    13:37
Ian and I don't really talk too often anymore, but we used to talk quite a bit for years, and I always love running into Ian when I get to be at a tournament or something like that, thankfully.
    13:50
And it would be very hard, even if I didn't, that's what I'm saying, is I just want to be open and honest about if, let's say, I don't know, But let's say if P3 Multimorphic comes out with a new game in the next few weeks, it's going to be really, really difficult. So I just want to be open and honest about that because it's going to be challenging for me, especially if some of the people I consider friends or tribes members or what have you or just people I really appreciate who've been on the show a lot before. It's going to be difficult for me to be fully 100% impartial. So I just want to be open and honest with you guys about that. I also want to apologize for the lack of shows recently. Unfortunately, as many of you know, I was busy at a job a while ago. And then when my first show coming back from the job, I wasn't very happy about. I assumed I'd be rusty because I hadn't really podcasted much for months.
    14:35
But I was also a little bit bitter and grumpy about being fired. So I think I was a bit of a Debbie Downer. I'll say it. I was a little bit of an upset Orby. So we don't want to listen to that. No one wants a negative Nancy when they're just trying to listen to a fun pinball podcast. So I threw that one behind the paywall on Patreon. Hopefully no one ever listens to it But long story short I back I feeling better I feeling myself I recharged my batteries I been off for a few weeks right now And the reason why you haven been hearing from me for the past week and a half since things have been kind of doing better and I enjoying the summer and I completely okay with being off and not working 30 40 hours a week for a not at this point
    15:14
But my son Hayden came all the way back from Alberta and I'm enjoying spending time with him. So that's why you haven't heard from me too much recently. But that is to say, both my sons will actually be returning from town with some nice dinner for us to all eat together. So I don't have time for a longer podcast today, but he'll be going back to Alberta in a couple of days. He has a new job there that he's starting that he's really excited about and a completely new career, something that he's much, much more excited about, which is automotive. So I'm really hoping that goes well. And if it doesn't, it's fine. He's out there. He's 21 years old, doing what he's doing, just figuring out what he wants to do for a career still and what he went to college for, which was a lot of what he learned in college, even in the short program that he did there, he'll get to actually use now in his automotive job. So that's going to come in handy. It's not exactly the route that he thought he would go. But anyways, I really just wanted to take a second to say congratulations, Glenn. You totally deserve it. Shout out to fellow tribe member. I think they closed with Ian and Drew, our founders, our long-term founders. Who knows if we ever hear from them again? I'd love you. They always have an open invite on the show, Ian and Drew, if you happen to be listening. Make sure you come on. Oh, I did want to give a couple more shout outs to a few tribe members as well. Or should I say shout out? I did really want to give a shout out to Rachel Risto. I'm not really 100% sure what's happening, but she did post today publicly that she's having a really difficult time today for multiple reasons. So if you're listening, Rachel, lots of love, lots of hugs. You give the best hugs ever. So in any of you guys listening, if you do see Rachel in the next couple of weeks or so, just try to give her a big hug and lots of smiles. Be positive because it sounds like maybe she's going through a bit of a tough time right now. So besides that, I really want to shout out to Pinball Junk Drawers' own Craft Beer Sally and Foghorn Leghorn. They hit 100. Go listen to that episode. A whole bunch of tribes members call in. You can hear all about the lore, about how that podcast started. And, of course, they are my twin here. All right? We're twinning. They're my American twins over there. I also want to apologize to all, listen, to all of you down there in the United States.
    17:35
You know, my son's been home. We've been doing a lot. We've been going outside for a lot of fresh air. We've been going, you know, Snoop Dogg was up in Halifax last year. We're kind of practicing what he practices a lot. And I guess the Americans are getting upset about it because it's getting really smoky down there. Okay. No, I'm just kidding. I'm sorry, Americans, about all the Canadian smoke. Hey, we sometimes growing up, we would get wildfire smoke from lots of American states. So, you know, it goes both ways, guys. Just remember, we're not going to get mad at you if California has big wildfires and all the smoke comes up and hits Canada. I mean, we probably will be, but we're just smudging you guys. We're just trying to help you out. We're just trying to get your vibes good down there. It's all. Don't worry about it. Anyways, Glenn, shout out. I can't. I'm now even more excited. I'm now even more excited for the next P3 Multimorphic. And if I had to just off the top of my head do a quick five here, okay, the P3 Multimorphic I'm by far the most excited to play because I haven't seen this new one coming up soon, hopefully, maybe, possibly, is Portal. I cannot wait to play Portal. Portal, I just, I watched the video again today showing my son Hayden because I was talking to him about, telling him about how Glenn got hired and everything. And he said, wait, what is P3 Multimorphic again? I've ever seen one in the wild. And I said, no. And I showed it to him. And I said, you may have seen one at Ian Harris House, but I don't know if he ever played a tournament with me there or not for sure, if he got to play it. And anyway, so I showed it to him and explained to him and explained to him how it's so good for if you have a lack of space and you live in a city or something like that. And I went over all the titles, but by far, the one I'm the most excited to play is Portal. The one I'm second most excited to play is Weird Al's Museum of Hilarity, I believe it is. Then the next one is probably the Scott Denisi one that I always forget the name of, but it's the follow-up to Total Nuclear Annihilation. Final Destination? Final. I'm sorry, Scott. I'm so sorry. I will update on my next podcast. And then the next one is probably Princess Bride. That's the one that my wife would love the theme of the most and probably the most excited to play. And then next would be Heist because that crane mech is fire. But anyways, I can't wait to play it. Shout out to Glenn. Shout out to everyone over there at P3 Multimorphic. I can't wait to see what you guys do next. And until next time, remember to eat, sleep, and breathe. Glenn the Skateboarder.
