TL;DR

Batman 66 announced for Stern's 30th anniversary; hosts predict Monster Bash remake next.

Summary

Ron Hallett and Bruce Nightingale discuss Stern Pinball's 30th anniversary celebration and the announcement of Batman 66, a new game featuring the original TV show license with an all-star design team including George Gomez, Lyman Sheets, Joe Kamikaze, and Eugene Jarvis. The hosts also speculate on upcoming Chicago Gaming Company remakes (Monster Bash predicted as next), report on Stern's pre-order strategy departure, and share detailed repair notes from their league night operations.

Key Claims

  • Stern Pinball is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2016, having started in 1986.

high confidence · Ron and Bruce confirm Stern's founding year as 1986, making 2016 the 30th anniversary.

  • Batman 66 will feature a completely redesigned playfield retaining only the crane toy from the 2008 Batman: The Dark Knight machine, with the bridge and upper playfield removed.

high confidence · Great American Pinball flyer leaked on Pinside; Bruce states he has received additional information confirming significant changes from the original Dark Knight design.

  • Stern is deviating from its stated policy of not taking pre-orders before game reveals by pre-selling Batman 66 deposits without showing pictures or final pricing to the public.

high confidence · Ron directly criticizes the practice as contradicting Stern's typical messaging; flyer confirms $500 Premium and $2,000 LE deposits are being collected.

  • Batman 66 will feature two LCD displays: one replacing the DMD in the backbox and one interactive LCD on the playfield.

high confidence · Great American Pinball flyer details specify LCD replacements and interactive playfield display.

  • Joe Kamikaze previously ran day-to-day operations at Data East and designed games for Game Plan and Data East before returning to pinball.

medium confidence · Bruce provides historical context on Joe Kamikaze's background; details are consistent with known industry history but not independently verified in this episode.

  • Monster Bash will be the next Chicago Gaming Company remake after Cactus Canyon, due to Universal Monsters licensing already being secured.

medium confidence · Bruce predicts Monster Bash as next remake, citing pre-existing licensing for Universal Monsters decals and backbox artwork. This is stated as prediction/betting, not confirmed fact.

  • Attack from Mars will be the third Chicago Gaming Company remake in the sequence after Monster Bash.

medium confidence · Bruce predicts this as his third pick in a betting context; no official confirmation provided.

Notable Quotes

  • “One of their main gimmicks, one of their main things they always like to say over the other manufacturers is we don't take pre-orders, we don't accept money until the game is revealed... But hey, look at this flyer, and it's like they're taking pre-orders, and no one's even seen a single picture of the game.”

Ron Hallett @ ~15:00 — Directly criticizes Stern's departure from its stated pre-order policy, a key differentiator from competitors.

  • “I'm going to bring the camera along and see if they let me bring it in... You can swallow the sword. And you can watch the magic of your money being sucked out of your pocket by Gary Stern.”

Ron Hallett @ ~5:00 — Cynical commentary on the Stern party event and the high cost of pinball collecting, delivered with humor.

  • “Bubble wrap. Man... He's going to roll him in with the bubble wrap. He'll have to go through the back, you know, because you can't take any equipment in through the front at the Westin.”

Bruce Nightingale @ ~20:00 — Humorous speculation about Adam West's appearance at the event, joking about his age and fragility.

  • “So you heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen. Bruce says it's going to be Monster Bash. And what did I say also? What's going to happen the same night at a pinball party? Oh, you still think that they're going to release the second game? Yep. Two games. One night. Biggest night ever.”

Ron Hallett and Bruce Nightingale @ ~38:00 — Ron and Bruce predict two game announcements on the same night; implies they believe Stern has another unannounced title ready (speculated as Aerosmith).

  • “Monster Bash. It's a great license. It will sell big. It will drop the price of Monster Bash. And then I know the third one will be Attack from Mars.”

Bruce Nightingale @ ~35:00 — Clear prediction of the sequence of Chicago Gaming remakes; bases confidence on licensing availability.

  • “The wires get chafed on the RPG shooter. And what happens is it actually grounds out and fires the coil. You better catch it soon and look for any fraying or scraping, because what will happen, it will actually short out the transistor and put a hole in your board.”

I don't know if you ever heard of me before, but I used to be called the Waco Kid. Well, what happened? Oh, well, it got so that every piss-hand prairie punk who thought he could shoot a gun would ride into town to try out the Waco Kid. when one day I was just walking down the street and I heard a voice behind me say, Reach for it, mister. I spun around, and there I was, face to face with a six-year-old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass Coming to you from beautiful upstate New York This is the Slam Tilt Podcast A show about all things pinball I'm Ron Hallett here with my co-host, Bruce Nightingale. Yeah, hello. And welcome to episode eight, which is, what is episode eight? Rogue One. Rogue One. Well, is it really Rogue One? Isn't that like a prequel? It's a prequel, but we'll include it because it's going to be the next one out. Okay. Oh, man, what's nine going to be? Because there is none yet. No, there's no name. I've actually gone out to Lucas and asked for an official name. He's not involved. You have to go out to Disney. Well, you have to go through Lucasfilms when you still go to Star Wars. It still goes to Lucas stuff. And also, there's two emails, actually, and I went to both. Asked, and I got the old polite email saying, Sorry, we're not ready to release that, but thank you for your interest in Star Wars. And then they said, yes, we've already sold the rights for the pinball game to... No. No, no, no. Not yet. Not yet, not yet. But I did put in a request, so guess what? I have the next row of movies all in line, ready to rock. All right. All right. And I'm not going to tell you until the end. So you've got to stay on and listen to the whole show. Because no one would think about, you know, fast-forwarding. Damn. Damn. So. Okay. What's going on, Bruce? We definitely have lots of news today. A whole lot. That's a lot of news this week. First, let's start off at the beginning. First, we must bow our heads in a moment of silence, because we talked about Mel Brooks movies last week. And I used a Gene Wilder clip as an opening a couple of episodes ago. Yes. So you will hear and will have already heard another Gene Wilder clip, in honor and remembrance of the late, great Gene Wilder. yeah so we talked about mel brooks being that'd be a great idea and then the same episode i talked about adam west uh-oh uh-oh hopefully he can make it to to uh october i've heard that stern is bubble wrapped him bubble wrapped him and with the foam feeler packages like they use on the pinball machines in the boxes, doing boxes. So I think we're hopefully going to be good. But we have started a curse. A curse. And he is like 85. I mean, he is quite old. Yes, they both were, you know. So that's the moment of silence we must bow our heads, you know. He was a great person, great movies. But you know what we got to do? We got to move on. We got to think about pinball and go to the news of the week. Which is? First, Stern put out a post about two days ago saying 13 tickets left for this big party. So by the time you hear this, it's probably sold out. Yeah, it is. It is. I looked at it. It was 400. Okay. So are you included? Me and my dad are included. So this ought to be interesting. So we're going to have a behind-the-scenes look. Yeah. I'm going to bring the camera along and see if they let me bring it in. We'll see. We'll see. You can swallow the sword. And you can watch the magic of your money being sucked out of your pocket by Gary Stern. Oh, sorry. Did I say that? Well, really? The money? Why? What's going on? Well, 35 times 400 sounds like a pretty good bit of change. Yeah, some of it was supposed to go to charity, supposedly. Gary Stern or us? No, it actually had the name of it, I believe, for the cherry farm Oh, okay, then that's a good thing It did say that, yes But the reason why the big party is Boy, didn't we say two weeks ago I think on this podcast Somebody predicted something Yes, and What was that? I believe you predicted that they were going to unveil a Batman game there based on the old TV show. Gee, and what happened yesterday? Great American Pinball, for some reason, leaked out or put a flyer on Pitside that said that very thing. My sources are pretty darn good, aren't they? Yes. Well, it looks like you said it was going to be a VE. It's looking like it's going to be a completely different game, with just the crane from the first, the Dark Knight being put in it. Yeah, I've now gotten since, in more information, actually, the bridge will be gone. The Teeter-Totter Bridge will be completely gone. I even think the upper playfield will be completely gone. That little, like, Lord of the Rings upper playfield, that will be gone also. Anything else interactive? Who knows? I think it's going to be you're going to hit a shot and make selections. his shot makes selections like what yeah like if you make a certain shot the lcd screen on your play field will give you choices to pick with flippers i'm thinking about that i'm thinking about that yeah that would get annoying and yeah come on come on mr anti-stop and go mr twilight zone is a turd come on you should hate that that's what i'm gonna say i was just going to say, but it's going to follow the rules of Twilight Zone, which is going to be. But we'll see. We'll see. I love the theme. I'm Batman. I'm Batman. But with your sidekick Robin, with your atomic batteries warmed up. Holy L.E. Captain. Yes. Holy L.E. Batman. Holy Super L.E. Batman. The Super L.E.'s got me a little frazzled here. Like, what? 30 people are going to be like, what if you owned every Stern game since they've been in business or bought the most games or is it going to be one per distributor well i i have to call stern out on something here one of their main gimmicks one of their main things they always like to say over the other manufacturers is we don't take pre-orders we don't accept money until the game is revealed which they always say and and typically that is true, but hey, look at this flyer, and it's like they're taking pre-orders, and no one's even seen a single picture of the game. I totally agree. I totally agree. That is a little disconcerting, because now they're going into, I would say, the trap. You know, now they're going to, you know, do you want to give your money now? You know, before, every time when Stern put out a game, they would actually go against that motto. They would say, don't give your money until blah, blah, blah, you know. Yes, yes. And now we did a total 180. Kind of weird. I'm actually really stumped by this one. Total 180. Or if you're Jason Kidd, a 360, if anyone gets that at all. I kind of did, too. But that will fit in later on for me, too. So I'm looking at the flyer right now. So let's look at the flyer. We'll do the flyer. It states that Stern Pinball celebrates its 30th anniversary with special Batman 66 pinball game. Batman 66 features all-star development team, which consists of George Gomez and Lyman Sheets in collaboration with Joe Kamikow. And contributions from Eugene Jarvis and others. for those who may not know Joe Kamikow he's been he was a game plan he designed games he designed games for Data East also and I don't know if people realize when Data East started he ran the day to day operations of Data East it was not Gary Stern and he actually went on to an arcade company at one point and then came back if I remember correctly He's another one. He's done the slot machine thing, the gig that a lot of them seem to do. Yep. Oh, well, I've got to say one thing, though. Remember how last week we said, hey, Stern's never done a DC license? Well, now they have. No, Batman was a DC license. Yes, Batman was a DC license. So, you know, I had a couple people come to me and say, hello. Hello, Bruce. Hello, brain. Anybody home? Nope. It was not there until like an hour afterwards. I said, wait a sec, they did. Which way did I go, George? Which way did I go? They went that way. Thanks a lot, George. Thanks a lot. Eugene Jarvis, for those who don't know who that is, from his pinball days. God. He's God. Yeah, well, he did Superman with Steve Ritchie at Atari. He's the one who basically created the attract mode, if you will. Yes. Made the lights actually move around. What a concept. He also did Firepower and F-14 Tomcat. Then he went over to the video game side, the dark side. And he did Rubitron, Defender, Smash TV, Total Carnage, Narcs, amongst others. So he's done a lot of stuff. And then he went back to the pinball and held with the 90s, early 90s, with Adam's family and a couple others. Really? I didn't know he did that. Okay. He did. And then he went on to other things after that. Yes, he is the owner, creator, starter of Raw Thrills, who make the big Buckhunter games. They're probably one of the only video game makers that's really, or arcade vendor, that make any money that do decent. Oh, I agree. Continuing with the flyer, we have All New Game Design. Retaining the popular crane toy from 2008 Gomez and Sheetz, Batman the Dark Knight. To me, that's the interesting part, that it's going to be an actual different design. I like the different design. The crane toy, boy, I could take it or leave it. I like the crane toy. It's okay. I'm amazed it worked most of the time compared to a lot of their other toys. I have to agree with you on that. Actually, the only thing I don't like about it when it's in the middle and you hit it, If you don't get a glancing shot, it's going Drano. Yeah, but it actually registers, which is one step above a lot of their other toys. Sorry. Very, very true. New interactive toys. We'll have to see what that is. That could be just a plastic figurine of – oh, it actually says interactive. So maybe a Joker figurine you can hit or something. I don't know. Maybe. Interactive toys could mean a captive ball for all we know. as an interactive toy. Two LCD displays. One LCD replacing the dot matrix in the backbox, and an additional interactive LCD on the play field. Okay, the only thing I'm disappointed about is now we're going to have an LCD that's 192 by what, 68 I think it is? So it's a DMD size. Come on, guys. Go big. Eh, so that's what you're thinking or not doing anything, you think it's going to be the same size as the dot matrix. Oh, that's what it said. If you read it exactly, what does it say? It says replacing the dot matrix. It doesn't say necessarily it's the same size as the dot matrix. Yeah, but it's replacing it. Why would you even bring up your old technology? VoiceOver by Adam West, Batman in the original TV series. Bubble Rat Man. Yeah. I heard some of his voice work he just did for – because they're going to be doing like a Batman cartoon based on the original show. Yes. And he does sound – he sounds very, very old. Yes. Very, very old. Iconic art package. That's the cool part. Yeah. Who doesn't love – I want to see the – what was it? The Egyptian guy. Who was the Egyptian one? The big fat one. Egyptian guy? I have no idea. Oh, the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh. Yes. I wouldn't think he'd be one of their big villains. He was, though. He was actually number four for them. Oh, come on. He was? He was number four. Mr. Freeze was probably above him. Nope. He was more episodes. It's going to be the Penguin, the Riddler, and the Joker. Come on. Yeah, I know. Come on. And Catwoman. I hope Catwoman. God, yeah. Well, Julie Newmar is still alive. I know. She's going to be in the cartoon also. And you see Batgirl in there also in the background. Yeah, she just died last year. Yes, she did. Bow our heads again in silence. And she got the role, a little trivia, she got the role because she rode motorcycles. So she knew how to ride a motorcycle. So they were like, oh, you know how to ride the motorcycle? Perfect, perfect. We don't have to use a stop-by person or anything. You can ride the motorcycle. Yikes. But we didn't talk about her, so we're good. Yeah, it's not our fault. And then we got a bunch of extra text here at the end of the flyer. Actually, quite a bit of extra text. So we got jointly branded by Stern Pinball and Joe Kamikow's Kapow Pinball, which I Googled and I can't find a thing about it other than this actual post, other than the Batman game coming out. 240 limited edition machines dressed even more so than a normal limited edition game what the what does that mean dressed even more i have a theory more bling no they're gonna make it look like a batmobile uh okay okay i'll okay i'll give you that i love to see it the cabinet look like the batmobile and you're controlling the batmobile like you know like you know the side art the wings on the end, the colors, you know, that'd be really freaking kick-ass. All right. There will be a premium. There will be no pro. So, in other words, there is a pro. It's called the premium. There is a premium. It's called the LE. And then you have the super LE, which is your LE. Customers who order with deposit gain VIP access to Adam West. So this answers the question on how you become a VIP to talk to Mr. Adam West, Which will be at the hotel, not actually at their party. Yes. They're going to roll him in with the bubble wrap. They're going to roll him in. They'll have to roll him in through the back, you know, because you can't take any equipment in through the front at the Westin. No, you can't. No, no, no. He has to go through the loading dock. Yes. It actually says meet and greet at Westin Hotel during Chicago Pinball Expo. Yes. LE deposit, $2,000. Premium deposit, $500. So it doesn't even have the price. No, no. Does it anywhere? No. That's amazing. So give your deposit, give your money, but we're not even going to tell you how much the total price is. I would assume the distributor is going to know that. Or what it looks like. Yeah, I would assume the distributor knows the price, I would hope, through taking money. I would hope. 30 Super Ellie machines will be made, purchased by invitation only. So what are these Super Ellies? It's going to be the distributors getting one probably each, and then they'll hopefully not keep it, which I doubt, and it will become the most expensive pinball machine ever made, if it's a good game. First shipments planned November 2016. Okay, so it's going to beat out your Ghostbusters. Hey, hey, in other news, just today Stern posted a video on their Facebook of them, and they are making the premiums. Yes, they are. Oh my, if the inserts don't fall out or anything, it'll be great. It'll all be great. If the clear doesn't come off in sheets, it'll be great. Excellent. Excellent. Great job. So, other news. PPS. The rumor mill's been going around. And what does PPS stand for, Bruce? It is, what is it? Planetary Pinball. Pinball. Supplies. The owners of the Williams rights. Yes. and in conjunction with Chicago Gaming and Coin, the rumor was going around that somehow it got twisted that Cactus Canyon returns, which originally Cactus Canyon was the last regular pinball machine made by Williams in 1998-99. They made a limited amount of them. I think it was 910, and it's a pretty good game. Vance has one who's a local new Western New York guy. I enjoy it very much. And I actually had one here for Cactus Canyon Returns which is a better rule set Well PPS came on Pinside this week and said oh it going to be remade It in the queue Well everyone took that I think as It's coming. It's coming. No. And it did say something about new software, too, or updated software. It'll be to CCR, hopefully. Well, we don't know that, so. We don't know it, but I'm thinking they're going to take that because it's been such a popular thing with all the after people. But – Yeah. I don't think it's going to be the second game. It doesn't make any sense to me to be the second game. Just because you're going to have to do the software bit, or you're saying you're doing the software bit. And the reason the software was never finished on the original game because it was just cut short because of Pinball 2000. That was the priority. And it has a very not finished feel. No, it does. But if you play CCR, it's really enjoyable. Cactus Canyon returns. No, I thought it was Cactus Canyon Continued. Oh, CC. Yeah, I believe that's the name. Cactus Canyon Continued. But they call it CCR for Cactus Canyon Remake. That's it. To me, there's two games that you really need to do before you ever do Cactus Canyon. And the next one will be Monster Bash. Okay. Monster Bash. I am betting double or nothing. I picked Batman. Going double or nothing with Monster Bash. because he's already gotten the license rights for the decals and for the backbox for the translights, again, from Universal. Yeah, that's the one thing to remember. That's an extra licensing because of the Universal Monsters, as opposed to, say, the other game that they have to do, Attack of Mars, which is, you know, they just need the Williams license for that. Yes. Valley, actually, but Williams, yes. It's Williams. It's Williams. Come on. Valley Brews here. Sorry. Yeah, but that's the real Valley. The games you got back there, that's the original Valley. I know. But it's still got the Valley emblem on it. Yeah, Williams bought it. Well, can't beat them, join them. Well, no, they did beat them, so they bought them. I know. The only thing that really beat Valley was 6803. Well, let's not go there yet. Those 6803 boards are terrible. So, what else is coming up? I'm thinking definitely it's going to be Monster Bash. Monster Bash. It's a great license. It will sell big. It will drop the price of Monster Bash. And then I know the third one will be Attack from Mars. Now, Eric Russell, who was at League Night last week, all he did after League was play Attack from Mars for at least an hour and a half. Never walked away from the game. Just kept on hitting it and hitting it and hitting it and beating on it. And he turned to me when we were in – we actually played each other in League this week. And he goes, so you need to buy an Attack from Mars rebuild, right, remake, and then sell me yours. No. Oh, really? Why? No, no. And he goes, well, because, you know, you've got to have the same. I was like, no, mine's really nice. And what I paid for it is really cheap. So that won't probably be happening. Sorry, Eric. I know my buddy here at Partner in Crime, Ron, would like me to sell it to him. I already have dibs on that, so come on. I think it's going to be the Star Trek knife battle. Star Trek knife battle? Yeah, between Spock and Kirk. Oh, Jesus. Yeah. Yes, yes. And I'm not good with the thin air, so I'm going to need a hypo from McCoy so I can recover. See? Perfect. Or we could do a knife fight like in Dune. I'm just bringing it up because it has Picard in it, himself. I always like the concept of the knife with the shield thing, and you just go at it. Yep. But that's what I'm thinking with Pacific Pinball. I know Pacific Pinball. I mean, Planetary Pinball and also Chicago Game Coining. Game Coining. Yes, Game Coining. It's going to be Monster Bash next, definitely. what was the original name of the game supposed to be what was the original concept i don't remember actually i so you'll have to fill me in monster mash they were trying to get the actual the original song was going to be the the monster bash by boris bettenhoff whatever the hell his name was but they tried to get the the license and he just wanted too much money for it so they said okay screw it it's not monster mash it's monster bash now we'll just come up with our own music which that's the theme even better because you have to bash also a lot of toys bashing is always good that is so more news more news oh my word this is incredible uh aliens is now going to be shown at expo also wow expo seems like the place to be and i will not i will luckily be oh working oh I'm sorry unfortunately you know where I'm going to be actually I'm going to be at school school school's out for summer yeah I'll be enjoying the beautiful sights of Georgia well I will be there and I will report back to the to the podcast yes I will have to check all this stuff out I'll have to see the videos beforehand because I'll have to see it before we talk about it the Alien if that's at Expo I'll get some film of Alien I'll try to play it but I would think the line for that is going to go on forever way way too big yeah but that's that's a month away that's a month away it's not that far away no it's not it's a month and a half yeah so uh what else do we have for news of the week i don't i think that's about it we've covered a lot of topics that's a lot of news i got to read a flyer it was great yes see i'm just glad we actually look we prove to the pinball community that look we talked about this two weeks ago and we were right so so you're saying we have to talk about something else that's coming up so we look good again. No. Any news? No. Well, we did. I already told you. Monster Bash is going to be next. Monster Bash. So you heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen. Bruce says it's going to be Monster Bash. And what did I say also? What's going to happen the same night at a pinball party? Oh, you still think that they're going to release the second game? Yep. Two games. One night. Biggest night ever. 30 years, they're going to make it look wow. That's why they released this Batman information. Batman. To make people talk so they don't think about the other game. Which you think is Aerosmith? Yes. By Mr. Borg. Mr. Borg. Okay. Mr. Borg, Mr. Borg. I'll give Stern credit. It actually is the 30th anniversary. It's not like when people say 30th anniversary when it's not. The whole screw up your thing. It really is. They started in 86. And the funny thing is they put pictures out today, Stern did, of the 94 just before they got sold from Data East to Sega. Sega. Sega. And I was actually there. That was my first Expo. So I saw a lot of great pictures. 94? 94. I went to the anniversary Expo. Damn. And got to see, they were building at the time, Maverick. Maverick. and they were actually showing off the white woods of Frankenstein. Frankenstein, yes. Yeah, which all ties in with Gene Wilder. Gene Wilder, that's Frankenstein. Yes, it does. Yes. So, Ron, repairs, what do you got? I don't really have anything. LED? LED? What about LEDs? The LCD LED? Oh, that thing? Yeah, did you find out software? Uh, no. No, I haven't. And I'm having other weird issues with that game. Like, the RPG will just fire without me hitting the trigger. Oh, coil time. So, I'm wondering if I have some bizarre grounding issues in there. I'm going to go in there again. What happens is, I'll tell you exactly what happens. It happened to mine. The wires get chafed. on the RPG shooter. And what happens is it actually grounds out and fires the coil. You better catch it soon and look for any fraying or scraping, because what will happen, it will actually short out the transistor and put a hole in your board like it did for mine. Bummer. Don't want that to happen. So check the wiring. Yes. Yes, sir. Check your hole. Check the hole and then check the wiring. Yes. Inspect the hole, inspect the wiring. I got you. I got you. Okay, good boy. The only other thing I've been doing, actually, this is just a minor thing. On the games, I've been going through the coin doors and actually swapping out the incandescent bulbs with LEDs in the coin door area. Oh, this is reaction. Basically because those incandescents, they burn in the coin door, like the price inserts, they get burnt. And a few of the ones I took out already, the bulb is just black. It's burnt. So we're just going to stop that from happening because I don't want to replace any of the pricing plates. Sorry, Bruce. You wouldn't even notice it. I notice everything when it comes to brightness. It doesn't look any different than the incandescent. Well, I went the opposite way. I ordered 400 bulbs this past week. Ink and this. Well, you'll be happy to know that when I did the stars, and if you remember one of their earlier podcasts, I said I was going to experiment with the LEDs in the GI lighting. And? And by experiment, I put them in, and they just flickered badly, and they looked like shit, so I took them out. But you didn't use an Altec light board? Yeah, I had the Altec in there. It might be, well, the Alltech board, I think it's just for the CPU control lights. It'll get rid of the flicker. But these were all GI lights. And they still had a slight flicker, at least that I noticed. And I just didn't like the way they looked. You're out of there. Yeah, so they're out of there. If you see the video of the game on our YouTube channel, that is all incandescent, except for the backbox. I do have them in there just because for heat and also that back glass is wasted. I don't want it to get any more wasted. Okay. No, wrong. Replace them immediately. Put 44 bulbs in there. I want it to get as hot as possible because Guzzis knows the rectifier board never gets hot or anything. it's really freaking hot i wish i had the damn shield i was in there once like working on something after i had the game off and i put my hand too close to that board ow hot yeah yeah okay so how's bruce in the repairs you just had league night so how did the games hold up uh i had three little luckily let's give the plugs out what the plugs are due plugs are due plugs are due mr zach came over oh we gotta mention zach we're on uh episode eight we gotta keep up the keep up the history uh but mr zach came over and uh helped me level the rest of the games and uh change some bulbs out we found a lot of sockets i need to replace and i'm starting to this week uh see which had two issues down ron don't cry don't cry for me argentina no just fix him so when i get it it works oh okay uh see which the uh left lower flipper actually there's three issues left lower flipper stuck up i loosened the abat and brought it gave a little more gap and that was good and then i finally found the pesky switch i've been digging for for about after like three or four hours. Switch finally found it. 19, which is the middle upper star on the left-hand side, started sticking on and giving free points again. Luckily, I kicked the person off the game, didn't turn off the game, and went right into Switch test and found out it was Switch 19 that was going off, adjusted it, and I've been good so far. And we had a stuck ball on the, what was it? What was the stuck ball on Monster Bash? That was it. We did pretty good, but I got a lot of light sockets to do. I have World Poker Tour torn apart right now because I have a trough issue. Trough issue, yes. The last ball is not going down the trough properly and getting stuck between the last micro switch and going into the coil kickup. Interesting. So I'm actually trying to shim it with washers right now, but somebody's been in there before and stripped out the screws, so I now have toothpicks in there with glue. I'm going to break them off after the show. Nice. And then see what happens. But I got two washers in there right now, and it still is not enough. I don't want to buy a new trough. No way. It's $130. No way. No way. So I will fix it my way. So someone was in there hacking already. So obviously this was an issue before. I guarantee it. And then I got, I'm going to show Ron. This is my repair list for all the games. Just light sockets mostly. But the last two, we did not get Centaur fully up and running. Oh, come on. Come on. I realized when I finally got almost all of it ready and I was ready to put the last ball guide on, the one that keeps it up in the upper top side of the play field when you plunge, I forgot to put the t-nuts in underneath the playfield so I gotta pick the whole playfield back up again and put two t-nuts in all the way at the bottom which is gonna be really hard so I said I'm not gonna do this at 3 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday before league night so I just passed it off I powered it up and it's in the repair room right now if you notice Ron hold on I'm gonna move the repair room is all in the outside area is all clean the repair room yes but now it's actually in the repair room. It went in there nicely, and so is Space Shuttle. Mr. Mike Smith will hopefully be picking up soon, Mr. Mike. And I do have another bit of news I'm going to sprinkle in right now. We're going to have, hopefully, our first guest on in a couple weeks, and that will be Mr. Mike Smith. Mr. Mike Smith? Yes, who is a Syracuse pinball collector who's going to be announcing big news on our show. So big news. Big news. We're upstate New York pinball players. Right. So that will be hopefully in a couple weeks. We'll get that all together. But going back to his game, I just got to get everything. World Poker Tour is pain in the ass. Nine ball. I've asked my buddy Ron to come out. Nine ball. And I said, no way. I've already experienced the pain of nine ball many times. He will come out. I know he will. Oh, I've had that stupid drop target back apart so many freaking times. It's not the drop target back that's pissing me off right now. What's pissing you off? The multi balls. The little holders that you were to, the switches hit on, those red, like, pieces of plastic where the ball sits. Oh, in the lock area. Yeah, I think the first ball sits on a red plastic thing. The second ball is on the wire form, and the third one's on a wire form. The first one's screwing up there. It keeps on sticking. And the one in the trough is sticking. That's the red one also. Okay, sticking. All right. Yeah, like the plastic, it just sticks in the down position, which causes major, like it'll keep resetting targets over and over. It sees that. or it stays up, it kicks it, and then it thinks there's another ball there, even though there's not, and it ends the game. Yeah. Yeah, I can only tell you on my nine ball, the switches in the lock area, there were so many holes where the thing had been moved at least four times. Like every switch had been just moved around at some point. So. I need help. Save me, Ron, save me. I think in the trough, the out-hole switches, I actually had to move the entire plate because it kept, it would blow by like the out-hole switch, like the first one. Oh, my, not my out-hole. Oh, it would blow the out-hole. No, it would blow by the, there's three switches in there. And like the first two, like you have two balls in there and the third ball would go in there. It would actually go by the switch and the switch would go back up behind it. So I had to actually move the entire plate to get it adjusted properly. Nice. It's a pain in the ass. It really is. But it works. It's awesome. It's just a pain in the ass to get to work right. Yes, but I will need Ron's help for this. I am asking for Ron's help. How many times have I ever asked for your help? Well, just bring the game down here and we'll work on it. You mean I've got to package it up, bring it up my elevator, put it in the car, and drive all the way to Albany? Come on What am I going to be driving out there You going to fly right over me to go to Chicago Oh is that it Is that it Okay Take the parachute You did it. Okay, the parachute. DB Cooper. I'm parachuting down with my toolbox, and we're going to work out. No, you don't need tools. I've got plenty of tools. That's right. That's right. We are tools. Yes, we are tools. We are tools. But I did, for league night, I had the ball bowler up and running, too. Big hit. Really? So it wasn't just the coat rack. And we have an extra couch here now. Ron, look. Let's see. I'm going to look at the camera. Look at this. All this room. Jealous. Two couches. Two couches. I only have one. I know. Now I have two. I got a free couch on Saturday also. Very nice. How's the freedom doing behind you? Freedom is, it ran all night. Not a problem. So we are officially calling it, with the thumbs up, we're good to go. It is no longer firewood. It is no longer kindling. It is actually a game. It is actually a working, functioning game. Congratulations, Freedom. Yes, you have graduated. You've made it another week. You've made it another week where you didn't need the schematics yet. Nope, and nobody's helped me, so no plugs for you people who did not help me. But we do have two plugs. We do have two plugs. Are Trey Jones plugs or are they brown pins? Oh, butt plug. No, okay. No, double plug. I'm getting their names up right now. So give me a few seconds. I have to get to the... Again, Batman 66 features an all-star development team. Oh, God. I'm killing time. Yes, you are. George Gomez and Lyman Sheets in collaboration with Joe Kamikow, with contributions from Eugene Jarvis and others. Exciting pinball action. New interactive toys. Enter in the contest. Win a new VCR. Win a new VCR. Great. Yeah, I'm trying to get the info. Coming out of material. May have to edit this down. No, we're not. Here we go. It's coming up. My phone is just really slow, and I don't know why. It's probably the wireless you're on, you know, this broadcast. It's just killing your connection. Okay. First, big shout-out to Lee. Okay, you name this name. I can't see that. I can't see that. I see Lee and a really long name. Will Golowski. All right. He is actually from Pinball Supernova. He has now put our podcast on the Pinball Supernova. Are we actually on the podcast page yet? Yes, we are, supposedly. So, Lee, if you did it, plug for you. Very cool. Now, I think we got an email this week. Actually got an email, which is a rare thing. Yes, they usually get messages on Facebook more, but we did get an email. And what was the gist of this email? Yeah, well, we won't read people's entire email in the air. No, no, no. This person, they seem to agree with you. James, how are you doing, James? You get the plug. Hi, James. Hi, James. You get the plug. James is leaning towards Bruce's. Well, first, he likes Bally's. Yes. Yes. Showing good taste in games. Good job, James. He owns a Paragon. Oh, there you go. Well, you're in the in crowd right there. He's interested in the Harlem Globetrotters. Like that one we talked about it with the spinner scoring and everything like that. Really interested with that, too. He also owns a Flash Gordon. So right then and there. All right. So we know he's with it, man. Yes, he is. And he's a pinsider. Okay, well, not everything can be perfect, but still. Not everything can be perfect, but he's still good. Yes, yes. And he likes his wish list is Fathom, Frontier, Viking, and he goes a hint, hint, Bruce, and a Mystic. He also likes Hot Dogging and a couple others. Wow. Now he talks about. Pretty much all the same games I like. It's amazing. Are you sure I didn't write this email? No, because now we get to the part where he agrees with me. Oh, okay. He thinks Twilight Zone, and he has one right now. Now, temporarily, he is on the side of Bruce. He really is. So he thinks it's awesome? No, no, no, no, no. Bolt, bolt, bolt, bolt, bolt, bolt, bolt. Oh, no, no. My mama told me we're going pumping for dinner. He asked me if I would actually consider it a highly polished turd. Okay. And I could actually go with a high polished turd. Yeah, okay. It's a highly polished turd, yes. I'm going to readjust my hate for TZ to a highly polished turd. The hate-o-meter, okay. Yes, that's one up from hate. One up from hate. Is highly polished turd. Highly polished turd, very good. So, James, now have your own thumbs up, plug of the week, and your own rating part of our rating system for the highly polished turd. Well, okay, so you've got highly polished turd. No, no, first you have hate. Oh, hate. That's the lowest. That's the lowest, just hate. Okay, then turd? Highly polished turd. Well, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. See, hate is the worst, so you're saying you're going for highly polished turd, just hate. I think there's got to be something in between. There is something in between. Okay. Kindling. Kindling, okay. So you really want to just burn the game. But isn't that eight? No, no, no, no, because I would still own a TZ just to steal the parts off of it. Well, okay, then kindling should be the worst then because you're saying you would burn it. Yeah, I would burn it, but, yeah, I'd still steal the parts off it first. All right, I'm getting confused in the rating system. Well, we'll go over the rating system next time. I will have it all laid out. Oh, he's going to have it all laid out. Yeah, we need the different levels, basically the different levels of suck. It's going to be 25 different levels. 25? There's 25 different levels a game can suck? Well, it'd be good. It's a swing. 12 positive, 12 negative, and right in the middle. Okay. For 25. Okay. So this will be out. I will hopefully have it next week. All right. You say you also had, going to our games to like, games to hate. Yes. I don't have anything, but you had something. What? Oh, I emailed you this morning. Yes, you did. I texted you. Yes, but see, again, again, you're in this awesome pinball area. I don't get to play any games. I don't even, see, I don't have, I don't get to play these games to like them or hate them. I just don't. And somebody in the first episode talked about all the pinball shows he's gone to. yeah but i forgot half the games i played at this point he's gone to a ton of ton of shows he must have more than six bad games must or you don't have six light games all right all right okay okay i will go first no no no no no no no no see now you got me going Okay. Games I hate. I got one. And it was brought up earlier in the old Sega slash Data East Tour. Frankenstein. Played that at Expo a couple years ago. Me and my father played that, and we were on it for like 40 minutes. It was just so boring. I mean, it looks cool. The artwork is awesome. It's got, like, do you see the Frankenstein thing there with it, you know, well, I think it was, was it Robert De Niro who played in the movie? And he's got his hands back, and you just, you could tell, like, okay, the balls are going to go in there, he's going to throw them, and it's going to be cool. But it just, it didn't do anything for me at all. Geneva. Don't forget about Geneva. What the hell is Geneva? It's actually one of the things when you get into the out hole, it says Geneva, and you get points for it. Okay. All right. It's just a terrible game. and to stick with the data east just show i have some love uh games i like um tales from the crypt i will agree with that one why do you like that one uh it's it's basically it's it's tommy it's tommy again but i like the theme better i mean because if you play tommy it's it's the mirror it's it's you know hit the mirror and they use the same they could see exact same mac it's just a tombstone. It's the same thing. It's the similar shots. In the whole mode base, you start like 30 zillion modes to get to some final. And the multiball, it is almost a... It is definitely highly inspired by Tommy. But I like the theme better myself. Yeah, I agree too. I think it's more like Funhaus. Think about Funhaus. And think about the shots. Okay. It's more like that. Mm-hmm. Think of the layout. I am. I still don't see it. I do. Okay. Well, you've got to go up that side hit, and then it comes out and feeds to your left. The only thing I don't like is when it's not working, being a switch or something is stuck on, and you hear the thing, you know, the cookkeeper just laughing. I have a bone to pick with you. And all you just hear is laughing. There was a show I went to, and there was something broke on it. And literally that's all you heard, laugh, laugh, laugh. It's like, oh, turn it off, man. Kill me. Kill me now. So that's mine. So I want to give some Data East love and some Data East hate. Well, actually, that was the first Sega game. It's the same damn thing. Sega, just a different financier. It's the same damn company. Okay, game I hate. I'm going newer. I'm going up to 2010. Okay, don't tell me. Let's see, 2010. So that's after Big Buck Hunter. Yes, it is. Oh. The game right after Big Buck Hunter. Or right around Big Buck Hunter. We had the fortunes before, so that can't be it. That was 04. Okay, go ahead. Tell me. What is it? NBA. That wasn't 2010. Yes, it was. No, it wasn't. Was it 11? No. The NBA was after 24. That's what I'm talking about. Well, no. 24 was what? 24 is 09. Yep. Or 08. That was the quarter crash. It was the beginning of 09. Yes. Yeah. And NBA was after because they showed us the play field at 09. Yeah, because NBA was their first stripped-down game. NBA was before Big Buck Hunter. It was before Iron Man. Okay, so terrible. Really? Terrible. It's a freaking space jam. Here we go. Here we go, folks. Ready? I actually kind of like it. Oh, my freaking God. They got it at pop. I played it a lot. I played it a lot, too. It sucks. It's got the guy from NBA Jam on it and broke up soccer. Yeah, you can have that guy. You can have it. That guy's awesome. He makes any game better. He sucks. That game sucks. Goaltending. I don't want to hear goaltending. I don't want to see a spring shot. I saw it back in 1997. It was called Space Jam. But it's got the spinning disc in the middle. Yeah, okay. So it's the first really true VE. It's still terrible. Actually, you could say they actually took stuff away from Space Jam. Honestly, I think it actually has less shots. But I played a ton of it at Papa. I did not. I mean, I didn't love it, but I did not dislike it. Well, you must be eating the brownies now, too. No, no. I'm afraid Bruce is wrong again. Second show in a row, he's wrong. What? About a game. Oops. Oh, no way. I love how you can say people are wrong about their opinion. The thing is this. I've got confirmation now. Oh, you have confirmation. What's your confirmation? By our e-mail. I'm up 1-0. I win. You win? Winner! I didn't know this was a contest. Well, wait a sec. How many e-mails did you get saying I was wrong? Okay, okay, folks. Please, somebody send an e-mail to say that you liked NBA and Bruce is wrong. Please, please, somebody send an email. Or tell the truth and say NBA is bad. No, tell the truth and say NBA is okay. No, it's not okay. It's in the lower third of the 25 tiers of turd. Okay, okay, what's worse, that or IJ4? No, I got him there. I have to say NBA. No, no, that is so wrong. Reason why? I will say why. I like orbit shots. IJ has orbit shots. NBA does too, but it's a hard shot to make. And you're really not making an orbit, you're making a ramp shot. Okay, I think I see some brownies back there. You are so high. No, not. You're just so high. Oh, yeah. So wrong, so wrong, so wrong. There are very few games that are as bad as IJ4. I'm sorry. Yeah, but it's like you're going... It's like... Okay, here's what I'm going to say. Remember how I told you my scale of 12 bad, one medium in the middle, and then 12 good? Yeah. IJ4 is around number 11. NBA 10.95. 9-5. It's right there with it. Okay. The only thing that saves it, the only thing that saves NBA is the callout. The guy. I will give you that. But the spinning disc sucks. It just shoots it down the middle. It's not a fun game. If I see one on location and I see an IJ4, I actually might play IJ4 more because guess what? Wow. I haven't played IJ4 in so long. Yes. Let me play IJ4 and hit the captive ball 30 zillion times. as it dwarfs everything else in the game. You want to talk about a bad freaking rule set. That's it right there. I want to see the guy come out with his sword, too. Yeah, the Kyro Swordsman. If you've never played IJ4, just hit the captive ball 30 zillion times and get some ridiculous bonus multiplier, and that's the whole game. It's ridiculous. It's terrible. Terrible game. Bruce is looking at his phone having a heart attack. What's going on? I am. Hold on. I got to. Oh, my God. What? Quicksilver. Quicksilver. What about it? Yeah. I got to message the guy now. Oh, where is this? I need to message him. No, I'm not telling you. Damn it. We know it's on Pinside. It's got to be on Pinside. No, it's not. No, it's not. Okay, Craigslist. Yes. It's on Craigslist. Don't worry. It'll be gone by the time this airs. I hope for me. Okay, Bruce is doing it now. Okay. All right. I'm calling right now, so we're going to pause this for two seconds. Pause in it for two seconds. Hold on. You must email. You there? I'm here. I'm trying to find the damn thing. I can't find it on Rochester Craigslist. Oh, no, it's not. It's actually far away. Oh, far away. Wait a minute. How many different searches do you have set up? Way too many. Okay, what Craigslist is this on? Ohio. Oh, Jesus. I'm out. Oh, there it is. Oh, that's got to be a rib. It's a regular phone number. That's got to be a rig. Lights work and bells work, but needs electrical work. Mm-hmm. I don't care. Trying. But the, well, since this won't air for two days, we could say it's in the Dayton Craigslist at $250. It does have pictures that look like actual pictures of the machine. Okay, the play field's worn to hell. Yeah. They'll make them eventually. Let's see. Oh, yeah, it's... $250. The art of the deal. You're getting to experience it live. Yes. On the Slam Tilt Podcast, ladies and gentlemen, as Bruce is just... I've never seen him type so fast on his phone. Look at him go. Look at him go. He wants this bad. We're definitely keeping this in the podcast, man. We'll edit it down, but this is too exciting. I need my computer. I'm going to slow down the computer for two seconds. Because Zach actually helped me again, see? What, he sent it to you? Yes, he did. I think it's already sold. Really? Yep. It's now deleted, the ad. Posting has been deleted. Wow. When was it put up there? 26 minutes ago. Wow. So that sucked. Okay. So you see how fast you try to get a pinball machine, and it's a Quicksilver, and it's gone already. Yep, the posting has been deleted by its author. bummer yeah so I had to thank Zach though okay so my game I like we'll go back to this whole thing after that segue of oh my god fail yep I failed but uh game I like is right around that error 24 24 yeah Steve Ritchie last game We thought he was going to retire after this Well he was canned Along with everyone else But I like the game It got long shots like World Poker Tour I do like the theme. The insert's a little too many inserts in the middle. Yeah. Some of the worst voice call-outs ever. Jackpot! Jackpot! Jackpot! Jackpot! Chloe, you suck. Yes. but uh i like some of the dmd animations not bad not great you know but it's a fun fun cheap game actually you can find those pretty cheap that was the last full featured game stern did at the normal yes four grand price you know that they used to sell things at before before nba and big buck hunter nier man you know the cheaper they stripped down games if you will Did we ever talk about the open house for Pinball Expo? No, we did not. So not only is there the now sold-out Stern party, which we talked about, but we talked about in previous shows how the Pinball Life party was not going to happen. However, that is not the case, as Terry himself of Pinball Life posted on Pinside the details. it is two days Thursday October 13th from 10am to 4pm and Friday October 14th from 10am to 4pm 30 games will be on location but there is no booze so and there's going to be show deals and specials and you can send your pre-orders before the 7th that's very appreciative but very cool that he's having that again he has some good deals there so definitely if you're going out to Expo and you got a car go out there check it out at least once in your life good time yeah it has been it has been toned down and actually for the reasons that i suspected the severe overcrowding and i guess he said they actually had someone had to go to the hospital last year two two people had to go to hospital last year so there you go yeah it was becoming a wild party and a little too rough but yes but i'm glad that terry is still doing this since you know i was at his first one it sounds It looks like now because he said in 2004, 2005 he had his first one, and I was there. So I kind of feel cool about that. Terry is a great company. I like the people working for him. So definitely support that vendor also. I wish he'd go to the show, but I understand he has such a big – Yeah, that's a whole other deal. How is that for content today? Content? We love content. Yes. And we love our fans. Thank you, everyone, for supporting us. Thank you for posting to our Facebook page. Thank you for sending your emails, or in this case, email. But you get a plug. But you get a plug, not a butt plug, an actual plug. Yes. Yes. And don't forget, I will plug you if you give me some Freedom PDFs. Bruce will plug you if you give him some Freedom schematics. PDF. PDF, yes, yes, PDFs. So last week we had a couple tournaments in the area And they were? We talked about First league night of course I did not win, I came in fourth But it's a It is a long battle But Jason Plourd won The night Brett Wallace was second Tied with Ty Broch So you were fourth in your own games? Yes It happens But don't forget, it's a marathon. Not a sprint. Not a sprint. We also had the last week, the pinball tournament up. Did I talk about it? No, we talked about that one. Steven Bowden, he won at the. Yeah, he won something again. At the modern pinball. Good Lord. He won a medal. He won a medal. Well, as he was showing on Fun with Bonus, he was the special victims unit or something like that, and he was doing the bum-bum, you know, the sounds from Law and Order. Oh, yes, yes, Law and Order. Yes, these are the stories. Yes, yes. But it was really cool. Steve, say hi to Steve. Hi, Steve. Steve, we love you, but congratulations on that. That was a really cool win. And what else was there? There was another – was there another tournament? I think – what is Thursday? I think Thursday we had the tournament. No, because we talked about he won. Yeah, so I think that's all the tournaments in the past. Future tournaments. The future. The future, that's great. September 9th is the first showing of Central New York Pinball, $5 per night. It's every fourth Friday, but with so close to being towards Labor Day, they pushed it back to the first one being September 9th. You can look up the information on CNY Pinball on Facebook. So this is a league? This is a league. Okay. Five. This is the league I wanted you to join. I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it or not. I'm probably not going to be in this one, but I'm encouraging everyone up in the upstate New York area to join this league. It's a very fun league. A lot of good players in it. You're going to see some nice collections in central New York. Check it out. Very cool. Great people. Good time had by all. Yes. September 11th at Rock Fantasy is the Gridiron Greats. That is a football charity event done by Mike Dicka and who else? Who's the rock guy? Alice Cooper. Alice Cooper. And you put money into a big thing, and you try to win it, and then you name into other things. And Tim Sexton's actually won not one, but two pinball machines from the pinball from the greats. Are you going to play in that? I am going to play in that. No more Mr. Nice Guy. No more Mr. Nice Guy. But I have to go to school that week, so I'm going to be driving right past it. And then I will be at the Sanctum September 12th For the first NEPL League night So I'm going to hang out with the boys there That stands for the New Robert Englunds Pinball League Which they have a unique deal where they have it Occur in all over the New Robert Englunds area Until the end of this year Then it'll be Oh well what's happening Don't you listen to Coast to Coast pinball and worldwide world of pinball podcast, at the end of this year, where you play is where your points will go now. It will not. They can still bunch them up themselves, but where you play is where your final points have to go with. So NEPL, if they choose everyone to go grouping in at the finals in New Hampshire, your points only will count in New Hampshire now after this year. All right. Well, they were a weird case. There wasn't too many. The problem was that they had this problem. That's why the rule got changed was down in Virginia and Maryland and District of Columbia. People were actually in like that same kind of thing. We're getting points for Virginia, but we're never in Virginia. Never even played a game in Virginia, but they got points where they actually qualified for the top 16 of the states. Yeah. That's a problem. Yeah. So that rule change will come into effect at the end of this year. See, so we even talked a little IFPA while we were doing this. Yes, I do listen to Coast to Coast Pinball, but I'm just – I don't pay attention to the whole rule thing. No, yeah, it's just like whatever. I'm just – yeah, where is it? Is there a tournament? Sure, I'll play in it. Let's go. I assume like the upstate rankings I'm probably doing decent. Probably after the Buffalo thing I would think I'm doing decent. Actually, you probably fell backwards. A little bit. Fell backwards. There's a lot of people who had a lot of points, including a lot of Canadians. I will be emailing Josh tomorrow. So next week we will have, not also including the 25 levels of pinball, we will be having the new upstate rankings updated. So we'll be able to check that out also. Okay. September 17th. We have a moral dilemma. A moral dilemma. Okay, what's the moral dilemma? There are two shows within two hours of each other. Two shows. Okay, two tournaments. And they are? One is Jersey Jack is having his pinball tournament and show down in his factory down in Lakewood. Okay. Jersey. And then I have to go with the home body and the home team. I have to go to Middletown, New York for the Rock Fantasy Summer Open. Yeah, that's where I'll be. That's where I'll be, too. Now it's going to be hard for Steve. Because for me, it's like, I'll see, an hour and 50 minutes or three and a half hours. Hmm. It's a pretty easy decision. Steve's going to have a tough decision. Does he drive 40 minutes? Or does he drive two and a half hours? Oh, Mr. Bowden. I guess it depends on what the prize is going to be, what kind of tournament it's going to be, maybe the games. Is it just going to be on a bunch of like Hobbits or something? No, no, no. They have other games there too. And I think the Buffalo guys are actually running that tournament. Oh, okay. So a little extra incentive possibly. But I'm going where I'm staying in the state. Well, being that Steve actually went there and got the hat from Jersey Jack that's signed by Jersey Jack. I'm thinking he'll probably play there. I think he'll probably play there, which is better for us, Ron. That's better for us. Yes, it is much better for us. Yes. Now, if we can only take out a few more people, we'll break Ed Zeldman's kneecaps. We'll take out Jerry Bernard, make sure he doesn't play. No, we've just got to call him in for extra overtime. Oh, we call him in for extra overtime, and we have to take out Timmy. Yep, Timmy. And then we'll be all set. And Greg, too, probably will be coming up. And even Levy, probably, too. Oh, Levy. Crap. Yeah, we'll have to take him out also. But I'd rather play the good players, so that's why I wouldn't mind Steve coming up. Steve, if you're coming up, I hope you do because I'm going to, you know, I love playing with the best. And, you know, the guys from New York City. You'll be playing with me. Don't worry. Yeah. Yeah, you said the best. Yeah. Yeah. And I want to get one point closer to you this time. Yeah, you can keep wanting that. It will happen. Yeah, sure it will. it Bruce. It's in the way that you use it. Da da da da. Yes. Uh, also, uh, Silver Hearts, Strong Hearts Silver Ball Pinball Tournament. There's now a flyer. Okay, Strong Hearts Silver Ball Pinball Tournament. That almost sounds like a Steve Miller band album or something. It's like Wild Hearts or something. Complete on six classic pinball machines, And Swords of Fury, Getaway, Terminator 2, Elektra, Disco 79, and Space Station. Wow, Getaway is classic. I feel old. Well, aren't we? We've proven this before, haven't we? Yeah, but you're older. I am. Top player wins a $20 Strong Hearts gift card. If you purchase something from Strong Hearts, you'll get a free game on Space Station. Okay, what's Strong Hearts again? That's that vegan bakery I told you all about. Oh, Vegan Bakery, yes. Crickets now. Crickets, yes. Vegan Bakery. I'm just trying to think of the selection. Yeah. Yeah. I have an idea coming up eventually. We might have a tournament time, possibly in Western New York. We might have a tournament. We may have a tournament in Western New York. At my house. Oh, at Bruce the Chateau Nightingale. Yes. Have you come up with a name for your arcade yet? Remember, that's one of our old subjects that never did get clarified. Yep. No, not yet. What was the one name I thought was good? Ballyland. Ballyland, yes. I kind of like that one, too. I do. I need more ballys. Yeah, because we have JR in Maine who might lay claim to, like, no, you can't use that. You don't have enough ballys. You can't do ballyland. I know. I'm Ballyman. And then don't forget we're going to be in Banning in January. And come see Ron in Expo. Yes. Yes, there's the Pinball Expo in Chicago in October, and in January it's the Arcade Expo, I think it's called, in Banning, California. Yeah, 3.0. So are we going to have any more details on the tournament? Are you leaving us hanging there? or that could be for a future episode. All right. I'm actually thinking of a three-month tournament. Oh, what? Three-month tournament? What are you doing? No, I'm not staying there for three months. I got a job. You only need to come to three nights. Well, possibly two, maybe three nights. What I'm thinking about is October, top eight people qualify. December, I know, January, I'm sorry, October, November, another eight top people qualify. And then you meet in December. During the snowstorm and no one will show up. I win. I win. If it's a snowstorm, I automatically win. It's an idea. I'm trying to play with it. I'm trying to figure it all out. You talk about winter in upstate New York, man. It could literally snow. It could be a snowstorm any day. I know, but it's December. It's not that bad. January, February, yeah, you got something. Yes, yes. Well, what was the temperature last February at my last tournament? That was a – well, unless the climate change is going to continue. Is that what you're banking on? No, it was cold. It was negative 10 outside. Oh, yeah. Okay, yeah. That was the coldest – I think that's the coldest I've ever experienced being outside. Like my car literally barely started. Yeah, it was negative 10, folks. And Bruce is out there with, what, a windbreaker, like using a roof rake on his roof because he's crazy. Yes, and I was actually in the basement. We actually didn't even turn on the heat because the games were supplying enough heat, but the room never got above 65 degrees with 35 games on at the time heating the room and people. That's how cold it was. That's cold. So I don't know, but I'm hoping for October, maybe November, but we're going to have a day tournament here. Okay. So we might have to have Mr. Hallett come back out. Sure, sure, sure. And don't forget, one more thing. One more thing. One last thing. www.pinballlifter.com. We will be at York September 30th, October 1st. Mention Slam Tilt Pinball. Okay, take two. Go. Slam Tilt Pinball, and you will get five extra percent off your order. And a new VCR. and a new VCR but yes so come on out and check us out and if anyone's in the area of Rochester this weekend which is September 4th it's my wife's birthday so if you want to come out we're going to be playing pinball hanging out, food hopefully outdoor games also come on out happy birthday I remember the key too so we're good on that and so if you want to come out message me on Slam Tilt podcast or message me my own personal Facebook at Bruce Nightingale alright I believe the bills are paid I think the bills are paid so we'll do the outro here thanks everyone for listening to the Slam Tilt podcast now I gotta do the last thing the next group of movies the next group episode 9 will be pinball the motion picture pinball okay i don't get it star trek the motion picture oh god okay we're going star trek well that ought to give that jesus that gives us at least seven or eight it gives us 12 something like oh okay so you're including the next gen movies of course yeah and and the next the newest generation we got 12 jesus we're up to the 20s now.
