Now who's responsi- I say who's responsible for this unwarranted attack on my person? I say, I say, I say, pay attention now, boy. This is, of course, Foghorn Leghorn presents the Pinball Junk Drawer. You all asked for it, I say, I say, you all asked for it now, you're gonna get it. Boy, oh boy, are you gonna get it. Go, I say, go away, boy, you bother me. And in the blink of an eye, we're back. the one, the only, often imitated, never duplicated pinball junk drawer, Big Show 80 the only podcast for your ears and your butt my name's Foghorn Leghorn, with me as always Craft Brew Sally as we juxtapose seamlessly from show to show how can I tell you, I'm made for dumbness 80 shows, 80 things of nonsense I know, I told you I was an unfettered Overflowing fountain of nonsense. And you said, I bet you can't do 80. And I was like, I'll double that. Look out, 160. We're coming for you. Nice. Spirits are high. Yes, yes. Just today, as we were recording this, we got an invite to Stern for the media day for their newest release, or their upcoming newest release, Cornerstone. We are so excited. Yes, we are. You know, and I, all my nonsense aside, whenever, you know, we are invited to something like this, it's almost like I'm so thankful for that opportunity. And like to even be considered is kind of like humbling to me. Yes. You know, it's cool. So we responded. Yes. Thank you. We booked our hotel. Now we just have to make sure we can get the days off. I got the days off. I don't want to go solo. so I hope you are if I know I know I would but yuck so anywho that's the news we will of course give an update after the event and kind of go over all the new exciting stuff so that it has been released it's the Stern is doing Star Wars what's the name of it it's Star Wars Fall Fall of the Empire yeah so it's kind of based on the first I say the first trilogy because I saw the first ones like 4, 5, and 6 are the ones I saw so every time you have to explain this it's nonsense it's like why did you do that George the original trilogy I'm assuming now I don't know for sure that was just a teaser you know released at first I know Crafter was like how many Star Wars pinball machines are there and I was like 180 but this will be the best one So I don't know. This is also going to be the one that has the Spike 3 system. Oh, yes. So it'll have more capacity for audio and video. And I guess there's a video out as HDMI, so they'll be able to stream in 4K, stuff like that. Stuff that we don't use. But, you know, there's a lot of social media that does stream gameplay, and that'll make it probably better, I'm assuming. Yeah. You know, it's cool. I'm very very excited for it that made me think about something like now Harry Potter mania is running wild on you brother and it's running wild on most people brother I had to just say brother you can't say that sentence honoring the late great the late Hulk Hogan we'll just say the late Hulk Hogan some questionable moves I still like him as the wrestler character so So, does Harry Potter have the staying power of Star Wars as a franchise? Not a pinball. Ooh. Like, as a franchise. Yeah. And we're just talking Star Wars and Harry Potter in general. Yeah, not really. Ooh, I don't know. Because Harry Potter could make ten more different pinball machines in the future. Yeah. And it would probably be the same. I tend to think it might. I don't know, though. You can never tell these things. I would like someone else to make it, though. Yeah. Well, maybe. Not American. More on that later. I just am not a fan of just the way their games feel. Yeah? Like, I don't know. I know I've said it a million times, and you guys are probably tired of hearing it. It's okay. And I think maybe I was butthurt that it wasn't Stern that got Harry Potter. so don't be butthurt also i don't know if you should really use the phrase butthurt but i guess we'll go with it i don't want to we are on the poor man's network so anything goes really i guess really that's true so i don't know yeah i don't and i don't hate jjp i don't i don't hate on them at all honestly like i i when i play them i'm always like okay you know they're very the last some of them were like really wow you just i'm kind of having a stroke from all the lights and And the noise, like Guns N' Roses was like this. It was like, everyone went nuts. But the bell curve for the excitement for that game was literally like it went straight up. Like it's the best thing in the history of the world. And then straight down like, eh, what's next? You know, and maybe that's the current pinball market. You know, the new shiny is always going to be like what's talked about. Right. I didn't think that Guns N' Roses was bad. I mean, it was a neat pin. And I don't remember it, and I haven't played it since that one time we were at Expo or wherever we were. Maybe it was even MGC. I can't remember. I honestly can't remember it. That's what I mean. I've never seen one since. I'm like, well, I want to play one. Yeah, I like Guns N' Roses. Again, not them as people, but I like the band. I like one and a half of the albums that that band put out about 46 years ago. So wrap your head around all that statement if you want. We're really dating ourselves right now. Let's move on to something else. Anyway, let's riz up the pinball. I don't even know any new words. I can't even pretend to be young and hip. We're like, oh, no. I'm not young and my hip hurts. That's what happened. So whatever. So we're very excited and very humbled, and we cannot wait. I love Stern tours. I could tour Stern every day. Yes, I could too. I wish I worked at Stern, and I would tour that in the morning with my coffee. Yeah. And I would go to work. You would just like drink your coffee You would probably go to work an hour early drink your coffee walk around the shop And then all punching And then all the people would be like here this idiot again And I be like yeah but oh wow You know? Yeah. I don't think that would ever wear off. And maybe people would say, you're nuts. And I'm like, no, I'm not. Right. You know me. I kind of probably would do that. Mm-hmm. Anywho, I am a little bit, I'll say it, I want to play Dune again. Oh, I do too. I miss Dune. Yeah. We played Dune before that concert we were at down in Madison. At the IO Arcade. Yeah. That's a cool game. Yeah. I could spend more time on that game. I don't necessarily think I would buy it. No, I don't think so. But I had some really great games on that. It was fun. And I wanted to explore it more. Some machines you really like and you just would keep always. And then there's some games like that one I've been thinking about. I was like, I want to play that more because I left shots on the table. I didn't unlock stuff. I didn't see some stuff, and I want to. It's kind of cool, and I think Harry Potter is like that too, where I personally haven't unlocked anything in that machine very much, but I want to because I know it's there. I know the shots are there, and I know the cool stuff is there. I don't want to say I'm not a good enough player, but I guess that's what it boils down to. The first time I play a game or the first couple of times I play a game, I'm not going to do that. I almost, like, I don't remember how to play pinball or something. I don't know. But then you find the shots and you find the cool stuff and it reveals itself to you. But that Dune, for sure, I definitely want to, like, play that again. It was very fun. And that machine we played was fast. It was so smooth and so nice that it was set up, like, perfectly. So, very cool. I do have to make, I do have to do a retraction. I did end up ordering the Golden Arrow manual and it was not 40 bucks. Nice. It was photocopied for 440. That's my style right there. I do not need... I think what happened was they might have had a real one and I think the old real ones are commanding that kind of money because people want the authentic stuff. Yeah, and you just want a copy of it. I just need to know what's broken. You know what I mean? I don't care. It's not... I think the peak value for Golden Arrow from Gottlieb has long passed. So I don't, you know, this isn't a collector's item that a museum piece is going to be knocking on our door anytime soon. Right. So my mistake, I was able to secure that. And yay for that. Nice. Yep. I'm sneaking up on 300 consecutive days of pinball on my Stern Insider Connect. I'm at 298, something like that. I have dreams of hitting the 365. I don't know if that's feasible. Probably not. But if you would have said, would you get to 300 at the beginning of this journey, I would have said you're nuts. So you never know. 300, and those are actual games I've played, and usually I'll do two or three games. So I think next show I'll probably talk a little bit about what 300 days of pinball is actually, what it's done, what it's helped me see, because it does help you. Yeah. Always being there, always being in the pinball realm, it does help you grow a little bit. I should get back on. I haven't. I was butt hurting. I shouldn't use that word again. No, go ahead. But I was. Hold on. Let me get the little. I have a bell here. Okay, that's the second. That's the second. But number two. All right. Oh, and I said one of those. So, bell, three, four. There you go. Okay. I was really upset that I lost my streak that time. Yeah. Oh, well, and that's what it is. You know, because I had 140 something, five or 147. And I was like, dang it. I'll never do that again. And here we are. Here we are. So, you never know. Right. It's all good. Other news, I guess it's the end of American Pinball, but I don't know what capacity this is going to be. It's now called like Orbit Games, Orbital Games. Orbit. I think it's Orbit Games. I don't know. Like I still, if you search it, you still see American Pinball. Yeah, I guess they left the name laps. so that can be used by someone else. I don't know why. Why you would, yeah. Yeah, like, you know, I don't know. It's not like it's like Coke or McDonald's. There's a lot of other names for pinball manufacturing. You wouldn't necessarily want American. I mean, it's not a bad name. No, it's not that. But the confusion it would cause. You'd be like, oh, American. so wait are you guys the ones that did Houdini and like Hot Wheels no we're other ones I'll be like so what are you doing yeah nobody should do that nobody should do that indeed but then because people will get a bad taste in their mouth right away when they hear that well I do because of that stupid lunchbox you've made an enemy for life American or orbital orbit games you've made an enemy for life watch out around every corner danger lurks around every corner from Crafter Sally from the Lunchbox Debacle American Pinball and Puma watch out there she is it wasn't her this time oh man so I'm trying to think of what else not a whole lot else we got our expo tickets did we buy the tickets right? so we got our tickets, we got the hotel room so we will be at expo So, Crab Brew Sally secured a giveaway. Do you want to tell them what the giveaway is? Or do you want to just... Of course it's beer. Of course it is beer. You'll have to see... No, we're not going to talk about the beer. No, it's going to be a surprise. A surprise beer. And also, I was excited to hear... I have to learn more about it. There's an entry for homebrew toppers. Nice. Now, I have two pretty interesting toppers. And, you know, like when you make them, of course, you think they're cool. But I think both of ours are at least interesting Yep I don think they look hokey Well one of them looks hokey but it supposed to By design yeah That the Wonelli one I don't know. I'm thinking I'm going to take them down if we're there in time. Because if we're not there Thursday, when we get there Friday, it might not be early enough. You might have to have them down there by Thursday. There's always rules and whatnot. I think we are just what Friday and Saturday we're down there Friday stay over I don't remember I don't remember either no I think we go down Friday we go down Friday night no no Friday morning we would leave in the morning just get there get to the hotel the situation I had a thought that maybe we should get a hotel on Thursday night and go to Logan's or Galloping Ghost. Yeah. I wanted to go to Galloping Ghost again. That place was massive. Like massive. Right. I probably would like to go to Logan's if there wasn't 20,000 people everywhere you went. Yeah. That was terrible. Yeah. I'm not terrible. That's stupid to say. It was just very uncomfortable. You couldn't do anything or see anything. And you're waiting in line for a slice of pizza. And you're waiting in line for a piece of cake. And you're waiting in line to go home. That wasn't that. It was neat to see. Yeah. So, yeah, maybe you're right. I don't know. We'll have to look into this. Yeah. If they even have a room, they might be sold out. Well, I don't think we would go there. We would probably just go to somewhere. Because I think it's further away. So maybe somewhere closer. I don't know. Just a thought. Maybe off air. Yeah. This is riveting for all the people. So I've listened to a couple talk about their plans. Maybe. That's not very. Fun. This is for my butt. This is more for my butt than for my ears, I'm thinking. Aw. Okay. Do you got anything pinball related? I did reach out, like, last year at Expo, we talked to Dan at Pin, no. Projectpinball.org. Projectpinball. Projectpinball.org. Yes, and had maybe talked to him about being a volunteer for a local hospital or whatever. Like being the guy that comes and fixes it or whatever. Yeah. So you. So I reached out to the hospital that is closest to us. So I did get some response, but we're still, you know. I need more info and they need more info. I have a feeling this is way harder than anyone thinks it could possibly be. Because hospitals, not only do they take like lots of sick people, I think they actually just take red tape. I think they literally create bureaucracy. There's a whole floor of every hospital. I don't know if it's the hospital as much as it is the insurance companies. Yeah, the government. So every hospital is just mired in nonsense. Not funny nonsense either. Really tedious, boring nonsense. So I have a feeling putting a pinball machine, which is a machine that's made for fun, is frowned upon. because they're like, well, that's going to counteract all the evil and sadness we have here. I don't know. We'll see. So, you know, I'm working on that, and we'll see how it goes. And we were talking about grabbing up some of our stuff, like going to Silverwall Swag and getting, like, a glass, a beer glass and a shirt and a hat or whatever we have on there and, like, making a pack to give to them for an auction. Yeah. Like, so we can donate our stuff for an auction. Yeah. That's a good idea. I think so. You know what? I'm going to reach out to Silver Ball Swag. I know some people have contacted us. We don't have, like, a button there. You have to search our name if you want to find our stuff, which doesn't seem right. Yeah, I think you have to sell a certain amount to be one of those. Yeah, but if you're not on the button, how could you be? People can't find you. Search you. All right. Well, so everyone that reached out, just search our name. Just put pinball junk. it's going to come up. We've been selling some stuff. We always can use, buy more if you're listening. Then maybe we can get a button. We're striving for that button to make it easier for people to find our wares. I don't know. I was looking at those ninja transfers where you get that panini press thing and you just do it yourself. I don't know. We'll see. Who knows. I think that is it for this for now. All right. Well, I think it's going to be time for everyone's favorite segment. Craft Brew Sally. Gonna have to put your journal down. Craft Brew Sally, child. You've been to all the breweries around. You've been running all over the town. Tell me what to drink until I fall on the ground Yeah That's right, people. And we're back. What do you have on tap for us today, Crafter Sally? I wanted to talk about a new brewery that we went to. It's called Vault 202. Vault 202. In Appleton. Yes, Appleton, Wisconsin, if you're ever traveling through the area. There's a bunch of good breweries here. If you're traveling through here, hit me up. I'll let you know where you've got to go. There you go. How might someone do that? At the Pinball Junk Drawer. The Pinball Junk Drawer? No, that's not right. Pinballjd at gmail.com. Good job. There you go. What about it? They just opened about three weeks ago, I think it was. Something like that. Yeah, and then so we went there. We took my parents there. They are working on getting their own beers in there. They had maybe six of their own, and a bunch of local breweries had some stuff in there too, and they did a collab with Cocoon Brewing Company up in De Pere. That's one of your favorites. Yeah, I like them a lot. It was a cool vibe. It was like an old 70s bank. Yeah, it was. And they had the huge ass vault down in the basement. And all of the like safety deposit boxes were still in there. And they had it set up in the vault so that you could they had tables in there I think there was like three or four tables in the vault Yeah And you could sit there and drink down there That was really neat Yeah It was a cool vibe And like the walls had these like tiles I was enamored with them. They were like really thick and these odd looking. They were like probably late 50s, early 60s, I'm thinking. They're not terracotta. They were like kind of like a space looking thing. Yeah. Metallic. It was really weird. I was like. And they were on the walls. And that was from there. And I was like, well, that was, that's, this bank is old. It was cool. It was probably original. Yeah, yeah. To Appleton, maybe. Yeah. Maybe. But they had, I got a flight, and, like, the card you fill out for the flight looked like a deposit. Yeah. A deposit ticket. And it was really neat because they really had the details in it. Yeah. They had an account number on the bottom, and it was like the date that they opened. No, it was the zip code and then their address and then was that their phone number? Now I can't remember. But all the details were in there. Yeah, it was cool. It was really neat. And that's like, why not? If you're going to do that, lean into it. Like I had a couple beers. One of them was called Bank Transfer. The Bank Transfer, Jumping Through Hoops, The Ulsterman. And then the other one was a collab with Cocoon, which was Marc Silk Cash. Nice. Yeah. Which was your favorite? I want to say it was the jumping through hoops it was a fruited beer like a sour or just like a fruit? no just like a wheat beer those were good very cool I remember it was loud and very full that's ok I mean, it's better than being empty because that means they won't be there in a week. So good times. I know we'll be down there again at some point. Yeah. That's across from that one, the one barcade down there, Player 2. Player 2. I don't know. We never go there. They always, their machines. Their stuff's always broken when we go in there. Yeah, their machines don't have the IC on. Well, they have them on them, but it's like they don't have Wi-Fi or something. So they're not connected. Yeah. I'm not going to go play a stern pinball machine without a booby-doop. Yeah, no kidding. Oh, well. So, yeah, that was good. We have our hops that we've been growing are massive. Yeah. And so they are ready next week or two, I'm assuming, which leads us to our next big announcement. Yes, we're going to start homebrewing again. Yeah. We homebrewed for a while, a long time ago. and we got out of it and now I guess we're going to get back into it. Yeah. So the local radio station had this big deal was part of their website where they would sell local, like gift certificates to local places. Yeah. And they're shutting down this part of the store. So we got... It was half price sale. They were normally like 10 or 20% off, I think. Yeah. So then to clearance this stuff out, they did the 50% sale because they're shutting it down like now. Today or tomorrow is the last day. So we got a bunch of gift certificates to The Cellar, which is a home brew supply store. See, when we moved to Wisconsin from Florida, we got rid of a lot of stuff, but we kept a lot of stuff. I think we got rid of the Carboys because those are glass and they're not going to make the trip. but you were like I'm not ready to get rid of them because now we had some of the buckets there we have a lot of the stuff we're going to have to go through that maybe tomorrow we'll go through that and then the weekend we'll go to the store and get the stuff we need I know we kept the 40 we have those blue cobalt blue 40s with the snap tops and we have bottles so we're good on that we'll just have to see what's up with it so if if you have an idea for a name for our first brew ooh a listener yes a listener named brew yes wow we'll pick our favorite the honors uh huh alright so if you have so how are they going to do that just say brew name or beer name in the title yep and they're going to send it to pinballjd at gmail.com or there's a link in every show note that you would just click you click it and there it is it'll launch your email and be like here it is you don't have to type anything so yes send us your what you think our first beer should be called nothing crude well just send whatever you want I'll just ignore the crude ones so it doesn't really matter we get to pick which one we want anyway so as we always say whenever we open this kind of stuff be nice because you know we're nice so you should be nice that sounds fun. Yeah. I know homebrewing is a lot of work because everything has to be very sterile for this to work. But that's okay. I think I remember last time we did this, we switched over to those quarts, and it was a lot easier. Yeah. Instead of 32 bottles or whatever, it was like two cases of beer. Yeah. All right. So there you have it. We're going to pick our first kind of beer, and I'm assuming it'll be pinball related in the name. and since I'm a graphic artist, I will have fun labels made. Yes. Because that was part of it. I made like 40 batches before and I remember they all had really unique names and funny graphics on them. Little Fat German Guy. That was my favorite. I was a pilsner and it was called Little Fat German Guy and the label was Little Fat German Guy. Good times. All right, anything else? I don't think so. I don't think so either. Thank you for listening. We are very excited for our upcoming event, and we will, of course, let you all know how that goes when it goes. Thanks for listening. This has been the Pinball Juncture Show 80. And as we always like to say here, Shazbot nanu nanu. That's it, man. Game over, man. Game over.
