Hey guys, thanks for listening to the Poor Man's Pinball Podcast with Drew and Ian. I know, I know, what a great song. How dare he cut it, you know, right where it starts to get good. I hate it, man. I can't have a four-minute intro, you know? It's just bad radio. It's bad podcasting. Hey, guys. This is episode 11 with the host, the one and only host. This is going to be an Ian-only episode for a couple reasons. One, we only have, like, 50 megabytes of, like, actual storage in our podcast hosting site. So I can't have Drew on here, man. He talks way too much. But he's a lovable bastard and we love him anyway, right? So here we go. We're going to just start this off by saying a big thank you for everybody who chimed in and emailed us about episode 10. Great episode for us. We were so lucky to get Eric in the studio here and record an interview with him. That man has more stories. I mean, he's the kind of guy that's probably forgotten more about pinball than I'll ever know. So look at him dropping little knowledge nuggets all over our bodies. Dude is unbelievable. thank you again eric we really appreciate it uh hopefully we'll get him on uh again and look at him dropping little bits of a little teaser for uh scott denisi's next game so hopefully once that game comes out man we're gonna have eric back on and we're gonna talk some code actual code so very excited about that so thank you again eric we love you so memorial day weekend guys um i'm recording this it's saturday it's probably 11 a.m here just got done with the honeydew list So scrubbed some toilets, went to the dump. Good stuff. I just wanted to kind of take some time. As you guys are listening to this, this is probably going to be up, I'm thinking Tuesday, maybe Wednesday. But I just wanted to wish everyone a very safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. I hope everyone stayed safe again. And I hope everyone just took some time and paid some respect to our fallen soldiers. I don't care what country you're from. It's just appropriate to show some respect for their sacrifice. So I hope everyone had a very, very nice Memorial Day weekend. Great segue from Memorial Day to pinball.

I guess Drew must be the segue guy because that was pretty brutal. From something serious like our fallen soldiers all the way to pinball. Here we go. Let's talk about Mr. Kaneda. That's always a good topic, right? But Mr. Kaneda has a very, very interesting quest going on right now. He is full on going up against JJP and trying to get them to add more modes to Willy Wonka. And he wants to see some more clips. He wants to see basically a story progression through the movie, which I don't disagree. That wouldn't be cool. That would be awesome. one thing I like about Willy Wonka and and and this is one of the big things I liked about it is when you stand in front of that machine you have just a world of imagination right there in front of you I don know how else to explain it it just looks like pure imagination from the movies It a magical engineering feat I just love it to death I think it just looks beautiful and it just screams fun. The fact that Pat Lawler designed this bastard and it shoots as well as it does, I mean, it's probably the nicest shooting pin I've ever played. And I've played a lot of pinball. And this thing, every shot feels so damn satisfactory. I love it. I love everything about that layout so that alone is super fun for me you got sound effects you got um music from the movie i'm like already in like i'm already i got a little bit of blood going to my penis just thinking about it right now so what's the problem i guess the problem with kaneda is you know it's not it's not like the movie you know you go around you right now and you're collecting wonka bars for god knows what reason i'm not even sure how the the gameplay and the rules are even working right now but i will say this i will say this that it's fucking it's a fucking cool and it's a cool fucking game it's fun and i'm all in so i'm excited about this damn game um i get it but there is also six wizard modes that are being worked on that are supposed to incorporate more of the actual movie in and i'm into it i'm into it i mean listen when has a jjp game been released where the code isn't crazy in depth. You know? Like, when have they had their monthsers? They haven't, okay? Trust me, the code will be fine. I just need you guys to step off the ledge and just wait for this fucker to show. Let's see what 1.0 code looks like for those guys. Let's see what finished code is. I'm guessing it's going to be pretty decent. So that is Willy Wonka, guys. All right, next up, we got Nate Shivers. poor nate shivers indefinite hiatus for coast to coast pinball podcast well nate shivers that sounds to me like coast to coast as we know it is no longer um which is sad but i i just want to stop here there and just thank nate for how many years of pinball content in podcast form i mean he's one of the original gangsters you know he's one of the ogs of podcasting uh about pinball and his voice unlike my voice is butter dude i loved listening to him i don't know what it was man he has just such a great voice for podcasting and radio in general so um and and you know the guy was knowledgeable and i just i really appreciate everything he did um and he inspired so many more podcasts to kind of be born i'd say that he inspired our podcast but uh our podcast was inspired by a bunch of vodka, some Red Bull, possibly a few rum and Cokes, and boom, we kind of decided we were going to do this. And it shows in the production quality. But Nate Shivers, man, good luck. I mean, if you guys listen to his kind of farewell podcast, I'm not hearing many people talk about this, but if you listen to all of it, I mean, he has like a little Marvel superheroes teaser at the end. So he's pretending like he hit stop and now he's on the phone with some other person. And super secret, espionage, here we go. We're going to have this new audio project, Revolving Pinball, that's going to be revolutionary. So you know what? Sad day, but also very exciting So Nate I am looking forward to what you got brother Let do it But thank you again Nate for all that content I mean you can still go back and listen to any of those episodes and they just amazing So Nate you are the man All right So we talked Kaneda We talked Nate Shivers We talked a little bit about our episode 10. What's next for Poor Man's Pinball Podcast? Well, here's the thing guys i didn't expect us to have listeners we actually uh we're gaining some traction here i didn't i didn't expect it didn't didn't didn't know what to expect really when we started this thing uh you know drew actually been bothered me forever to to do this and i know why we i i hesitated because i would be the one in charge of buying the audio equipment i'd be the guy editing shit. He would just show up drunk. Surprise, surprise. It all came true. So thank you, Drew, for that one, buddy. But he's a lovable bastard. That's why I love him. So what's next for poor mans? Well, hopefully coming up here in the near future, we're going to have kind of a permanent guest. I think we might extend our roster to three men and three mics so will it be a mess i don't know our local radio station here in milwaukee there's a sports radio station called the big show and they have usually three to four djs on it and they talk local sports and it's entertaining to say the least um i know with more people generally the energy level goes up a little bit um so yeah i'm hoping it's a good thing um but it's nothing unofficial yet but hopefully uh in the near future we will have an announcement um also um we are going to be trying to stream a lot more on a regular basis i think that's going to be a lot of fun for everyone involved um i love streaming man that is fun i didn't expect it to like it as much but it is it is it is a blast and speaking of streaming uh special when lit as you know join forces with flipping out pinball and flipping out pinball you know zach many he just gives these guys now brand new games to stream i mean what fucking luck is that i mean that is that is awesome you know i got zach i got so much room for games here i don't have a i don't stream but if you want to give me any free games that's cool too buddy but no um i like their their their setup man their setup was nice they had basically like a podcast on one side of the room or one camera and then you know the the gameplay on the other one i think it's fucking that's genius man i think that's awesome whoever came up with that um did a fantastic job that way they can get guests on you know have a little bit of a mini show within a show and it's gonna flow and and i liked it a lot So I can't wait to be there on Mondays to give them shit and enjoy some Oktoberfest right now and every new game that comes out.

Also, I checked out the IE stream. Oh, man, I think I fucked that up. I don't know. I'm going to call it the IE stream. They had that other camera down there that's kind of like belly button level camera that kind of shows more of the play field in like more of a three-dimensional view. that my friends is also fucking awesome because my number one complaint with, with streams right now is that 2d top down perspective It it works well with some games not with all games you know creature from the black lagoon looks great because of all the ramps and everything but to really get a good sense of like a game like Willy Wonka and the depth that's in that game and all the great things when you look at it in a three-dimensional space, it is a much cooler, prettier, just stunning game. So that, my friends, is fantastic. So check out their stream as well. I wish I wrote down their name for sure. I think it's IE, but definitely check out the Flippin' Out stream and make sure you go there and check them out. Jack Danger's having a baby, so another daughter, and he is like kind of on an indefinite hiatus himself. He's going to have a bunch of people kind of stream for him. And well, I just wanted to wish Jack Nanger luck for baby number two. So hopefully, hopefully everything goes well and everyone stays nice and healthy. That's what we like. But that's about it. That's all I had for us today, guys. I'm going to wrap it up early. My wife just came down here and gave me the eye like, what the hell are we doing? Are you podcasting now? Yeah, I'm podcasting now. I got nothing else to do. The man chores are done, man. I'm just I'm just waiting for the plane ride. sipping some margaritas on the beach, if you know what I mean. So thank you very much for listening to us. Again, episode 10 was so much fun. Somebody donated some beer for us, so we're going to have a special little beer we're going to open up and drink on the air, and it looks pretty wicked, so we'll see how this goes. We did drink a lot of beer. Back in the day, we got really into micro-brewing. I got into beer brewing itself, But the microbrews out there, they're just so tasty. And they're so strong. And that's what I love, man. I love the less I can ingest and the more messed up I can get. I'm into it, man. I'm into it all day long. So episode 12, Drew will be back. And he doesn't even know I'm doing this Mr. 11 episode. But we're doing it. So I hope you enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend. I hope this week has some pinball news. so we can talk about some good stuff. And again, there's going to be some changes, hopefully for the better, for future Poor Man Pinball content. And I hope it goes by quick so we can get rolling on episode 12. Thanks very much for everybody out there that listens to us. And you have a great day.
