Oh, settle in, happy humans. What's going on on this spring break edition of Don's Pinball Podcast? I think we're up to number 112, but you know, we're having ourselves a lazy Sunday. And so let's just relax, kickback, pull slack, and roll back. And we'll kind of go through what's going on this weekend in pinball. This weekend pinball? This is this weekend in pinball. What's up? So the Stern sale rumors have gotten out there. I started hearing about this about a month ago. Just little text messages here and there, little mice out in the ether. And, you know, hey, Stern's for sale. The leading rumor was that there was some kind of French billionaire that was also a pinball enthusiast, so draw that Venn diagram. And he was also interested in purchasing this American pinball manufacturing company, of which it controls about 90% of the industry, located and housed in Chicago, with the most robust team of designers and coders and everything you could possibly want in a pinball company. But where's the soul, right? Well, it belongs there in Jack Danger, I think. Regardless, I heard this, and then my reaction was a big kind of, so what, right? And by that, I mean this isn't a publicly traded company. This is Stern Pinball. Who owns it right now? Is it owned by Gary Stern? He's largely taken a step back from the day-to-day operations. Seth Davis or Seth Meyers. Seth Davis, I think is the guy's name. Executive from Disney now working over here, as executives do. They spent a couple of years at a company, build up the LinkedIn, build up the resume, make sure their golden parachute's in place, then they hop to another job, and then now they're working, you know, designing end caps at the Gap or Walmart or working for Nike and shoe design or what have you. But anyway, for now he's here. Seems like a cool guy. He plays fairly decent at pinball. I saw him in the live stream. He was even out there at TPF from what I understand. So that was cool. You know, seems like a solid guy. But regardless, the company's owned by Gare Bear there, and if Gerbert was Gerbier, right, this French guy, what really would that change? I mean, the operations are still going to be run by the same people running the operations. I suppose if you're the owner of the company, you have a pretty strong hand when it comes to guiding decisions, so I mean, that could certainly change. You know, would the ground work and landscape of the company change? Would it remain a pinball company? Maybe it'll be bought by a larger conglomeration where there can be some synergy, some corporate synergy in there, and all of a sudden we're taking some of the existing licensing agreements that they've made and now we're applying them to other household goods. Maybe truly launching Stern Pinball as a household lifestyle brand where there's branded blenders and such and tabletop pinball machines in your kitchen. I don't know. I don't know. So that could happen. But really, what's it going to mean for pinball? I think it's still going to be three cornerstones a year along with throwbacks and cash grabs and toppers of ever-escalating cost, and I don't really see how that would derail, whether Gary just cashes out and then rides his motorcycle around the lakefront and somebody else is in charge or just holding the buckets and the coffers. I guess if it were to go to a private equity company like some people are really worried about, where they would just try to nickel and dime everything they could, maybe shift a lot of debt to the company and then bail on it like what happened with Toys R Us, I suppose that would be a worst-case scenario. But from the rumors, and I've heard them a couple different places, this is one entity that's interested in taking over, somebody that likes pinball. The story seems to check out. Pinball's huge in France. There's a huge French confederation of pinball enthusiasts, largely online. Paris Pinball Addict has a great, robust YouTube page and Facebook page. He does live streams and everything, too. Basically, my French counterpart. He dresses nicer than me, and his facial hair is much more groomed. But, you know, I'm learning French. I'm trying to emulate as best I can. So that's that rumor. I don't know how much there is there. Will we ever see anything from this? Is it a real thing? Was it a real thing and not anymore? I don't know. I don't know for sure. The people that do know probably aren't going to mention anything. People combing through some recent terms and conditions from Insider Connected seem to fall across some wordage now that says that any kind of information that's gathered from Insider Connected, from its large user base, would be applicable in the case of a sale or something. So maybe, but honestly, like, unless like Jersey Jack is buying Stern or Ametron is buying Stern, oh my God, best case scenario. And installing David Fix as a figurehead, can you imagine? Can you imagine? That'd be great, man. Change the Stern logo to just a hat and mustache, just silhouetted against a pinball. I'd love it. I want to live in that alternate reality, or at least I want to visit. You know, Doc Brown, make a DeLorean that can go to that alternate timeline where it's fixed pinball and I want to see what kind of themes that they come out with. Regardless, they have licenses locked up for years. They probably have their next nine machines over the next three years of Cornerstones already mapped out. And speaking of Stern rumors, I still hear John Wick being the strongest rumor coming out next. It makes sense to me. It doesn't seem far-fetched. You know, not a license that I'm dying to go play. But, you know, I'd like to see how it translates to pinball. I think it's a theme that would translate a lot easier than a theme like Godfather, like a plotting drama, a John Wick action movie. What that sounds like to me is classic 90s pinball where you had a movie franchise and as part of the marketing budget for that franchise, there was a video game or a pinball machine tie into it. Think Last Action Hero. Think of Shadow. Think of Johnny Mnemonic, another Keanu Reeves movie. So it makes sense. And I always have made the point that even lackluster movies have had pretty awesome pinball machines. Now, awesome movies have had even better pinball machines. Terminator 2 comes to mind, Indiana Jones, any Star Wars game. Come on, man. Come on. So I think that makes sense. I have long speculated that Fast and Furious, though I haven't seen a movie, and I'm only tangentially aware of the major plot points of that, you know, Drive Fast and Vin Decent Grumbles and occasionally The Rock steps in to kind of breathe life into the franchise. I think that would work for a pinball machine because of how popular that license is amongst what we call the GP, the general public, right? People that aren't woke to pinball as we all are. I mean, you listen to a pinball podcast for cripes sakes. So, you know, I could see, you know, Fast and Furious, it's popular because they've made 13 films, right? You know, so that alone says, okay, this is something that, you know, you make the movie, the same people that came out to see the last one will see this one. You got your formula. You keep your budget down. You get your returns. You know kind of what you're going to get, and life goes on, right? And not to say it's the most creatively inspired, you know, artistic level license or anything, but I think it would work with pinball. It's not a license that I'm dying to have in pinball. Again, I haven't seen the movie, but I've been on the rides at Universal. I've been on three of them. So, you know, I know they exist. Not that they're great rides either. They're frankly terrible, but they're popular, and they're people eaters, and I think the one is getting shut down at Universal soon. But regardless, regardless, John Wick is a movie that John Wick fans go and see. They've made four of these things, and they'll probably keep making them until people quit showing up. And so I think it could work with pinball, and I'd like to see what they do with it. As I sit here, though, and I'm looking over at Jaws, man, I'm just coming more and more to the realization that I really, really like this Jaws game. I've got the Jaws Premium here, and this thing hits all the right points for me. This is my Jurassic Park as far as, like, the Elwynn trilogies, or trilogies, his thematic lineage of games that he's made. You know, people say, okay, you know, they're always ranking these things because we like to rank stuff. And, you know, basically, you know, Iron Maiden is in there, kind of ground level, Bond 60 is somewhere ground level. But up at the top, you've got the Godzilla and the Jurassic Park people. And this, I think, is my kind of Jurassic Park game. I like this game better than Jurassic Park. The movie assets are miles beyond it. Actually, the movie's in the game, whereas Jurassic Park, you're hardly getting anything. And I will say, even in Jaws, when you hit that shark sometimes, there's a Jurassic Park T-Rex roar that goes off. So, I mean, there's just as much Jurassic Park in this game as there is in the Jurassic Park game. But I was live streaming it last night, played about five games through there. We were bounty hunting sharks. We were making cool combos. it's just a very fun game and a very creative layout. I think we still have the same dimensions of a pinball machine layout here but you look at something just simple like I don know James Bond or Deadpool or something Something even simpler. Total nuclear annihilation, right? No ramps, no anything but takes place in this area. And then you look at what JAWS brings us in that same dimensional volume. So many more cool shots happen. The ramps are placed interestingly. you know there's shots ranging from easy to difficult so it's like a mix of everything in there it's not every shot's not easy every shot's not hard it's just such a good blend of gameplay you know um you know when you hit the right orbit ramp that goes up into quince shack even if it's not a very strong hit still seems to make it up there so it's fairly easy to hit for a right orbit shot but then you got the really satisfying upper play field with the super satisfying upper play field ramp shot man when you hit that which i'm getting more consistent with it's just great how it zooms around the top of the orca, comes around to the side, 180s back on its own like a saxophone, ejects down to the playfield, and it has enough momentum to complete that loop, come down through the spinner, back to your flipper. From there, you can hit one of the other ramps. It's so satisfying. Such a great sequence, and I love it. Every now and then, peek-a-boo shark is there too, so there's that dynamic ability. If you totally brick a shot going for the upper playfield, you hit the chum bucket, so you're still collecting things. It's just a fun game. and I'm really going to miss the old girl when she gets out of here this summer, but I'm digging it. So Stern for sale, maybe. Is it going to change anything? Probably not. Unless it's some kind of venture capitalist coming in here for initial IPO opening and it's going to change the landscape of the stock market or something or formularically fundamentally change the company, I think it's a lot of nonsense. We'll see what happens. We have no direct control over any of this. The only direct control we have is in our purchasing dollars. And if we're going to keep buying these machines and putting them on our locations, in our pizza parlors, and in our homes, or are we going to wait and see and wait for price drops? There are some deals to be had for sure. I'll get to those a little later in the episode. The other big rumor out right now, Beetlejuice and Spooky Pinball. This rumor of a Beetlejuice pinball machine has been kicking around for, yeah, like four or five years or so, it seems, maybe even longer, to the point that Christopher Franchi has even done translates for Beetlejuice and is still offering them for sale at shows. Art looks amazing, by the way. And I would be just head over undead heels about a Beetlejuice pinball machine. Like, bring that to me yesterday. I want two of them. Like, come on. And I made the remark before that if Beetlejuice was going to happen, it probably already would have happened. There must have been some kind of licensing problem, you know, or we would have seen it by now. I mean, come on, spooky pinball. They're ground built to make a Beetlejuice pinball machine. We would have seen it by now if it was possible. So something must have held it up. Either the licensing cost was too high or something was just unobtainable or it couldn't be made to satisfy the artistic vision of the creators. It seems like where it would have landed. However, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is coming out soon. We have renewed interest in this license from the movie studio, and that may have lifted whatever roadblocks were in place before. Also, wouldn't now be like a great time for a Beetlejuice machine? Now there's renewed interest in this license with this new movie coming out with Michael Keaton. Come on, man. I mean, anything Michael Keaton touches, anything Tim Burton touches would touch my heart and touch my game room. So you mix the two together. It's pinball bliss in a box. Make it happen. So is it coming out well? I want to go straight to the source on this. And I went down to Benton, Wisconsin. And if you listen to the recent episode and even the Patreon episode, we talked about that a bit. and I can neither confirm nor deny, but the sense that I got was it's not happening, and if it was, it's not happening this year. So the fact is I do not suspect that we're going to see a Beetlejuice pinball machine released from Spooky Pinball in April or June or May, or for that matter, any time this year. That seems to be fairly accurate. I think you'd still be in that window if you were to release it within the next 12 months from now, given that this movie's coming out, And, you know, Beetlejuice has been popular since its release, man. It's been in the zeitgeist. It's been in the diaspora. It's been in the Halloween movement, right? You know, anybody that's got a Jack Skellington tattoo also recognizes Beetlejuice. When you go to Spirit Halloween every year, there's a whole Beetlejuice section every single year, right next to Camp Crystal Lake, right next to Mike Myers, right next to the Haunted Mansion, which is another theme, which I think would really make a cool pinball machine. I'd like to see that happen. So it makes sense. The fact that they're making a separate Beetlejuice movie and the fact that they've wanted to make one also in the past just speaks to the popularity of that license. I think this thing works. I think it has legs, and I think everybody's tripping over themselves in the background behind the scenes to try to make this thing happen. And the fact that it hasn't happened already may be a blessing because pinball machines are being made now much better than they were, you know, 10 years ago. You know, you'd have to go back to, like, kind of Bally Williams days before we see, like, those classic designs that we like to see back. So I think now would actually benefit us all. The wait will probably be worth it if it happens at all, if it comes from Spooky, and if it does, it's not this year, and there you go. That's all I know, honestly. I was sniffing around a little bit because, I mean, in my heart, I want this to happen. But there we go. So that's out there. As I hear more, I'll be sure to let people know. But that's all, honestly, that I know at the moment. What are we talking about? Oh, it's been a great week for Patreon. So I finally got around to this month's Patreon giveaway. One of my lucky Patreon subscribers got themselves a Translight, the black and white version of the Munsters Translight from Stern Pinball. It looks amazing. They get it for free. I'm doing monthly drawings now because I just love and I want to spoil my Patreon subscribers so much. When I started the Patreon, I thought, well, hey, I'll just put up this virtual tip jar. So if people listen to an episode or I happen to get them through a nasty commute or a nasty divorce hearing or some such, they could be like, you know what, dude? Here's five bucks. Thanks for busking for me virtually through the interwebs, through the Spotify, through the YouTube, wherever you listen. And I was like, well, thank you, sir. But now, like, the fact that people are rewarding me in ever-increasing numbers, I feel like so much pressure to reward them for that. I mean, it means a ton to me. It's completely amazing. So I've, you know, I've been kicking around the 3D printer and coming up with projects. We've got Stern backer badges. I make stickers. All of those free to Patreon subscribers. They just ask any time, and I get them right out to them. so I went around and I was tinkering as I do and I made myself some start buttons for Jaws and for Black Knight Sword of Rage and they work really good and the light transluminates really good, I put a little YouTube short together and posted it on the Facebook page of the Jaws buttons which I'm super stoked on and I thought, am I going to launch this project on Pinside to go and compete with everybody else that's making start buttons my core philosophy here is make things that I like and then what happens is people see that and they're like, hey, can I get something of in on that action too and i'm like well yeah man i mean far be it for me to keep that from you so my my way of delivering this isn't through you know posting on facebook or in my spotify or shopify store or uh you know even on pin side i've decided to just give these away to patreon members if they would like one so if you've got a jaws machine and you're on the patreon people have already reached out they're already bailed and on their way out to people um to go check out to go review let me know how they work um completely free you know you don't have to pay me anything. If you're a champ and you want to cover a little bit for postage, like the Venmo and Patreon are on there, and PayPal, but you know, I'll get these out to you. And so this has been a successful promotion just from the start. Anybody else, if you've got a JAWS pinball machine, you're sick of looking at that stock green button that's on every other Stern pinball machine, you're like, I really want to dress this up a little bit. I don't want to break the bank. Maybe you haven't got a start button before, but you want to like wade your toe into the waters. and you got $5, go ahead and join the Patreon. Fire me off an email. Say, hey, man, I joined. I want one of these start buttons. How do I get it? All you have to do, you have to join the Patreon. You have to email me and you have to give me an address. So there's a three-part process to this. I'll take care of the rest. I'll probably slide a couple stickers in there, maybe a random key chain or something as well. Just something fun to do. If you're in Canada, you'll still get it for free. But, man, if you could slide an extra $5 just to cover the extra shipping, that would be appreciated. If you're in Australia, man, I'll sell that thing around the world to you. You know but again if you want to you know coffer up a couple of wallabies there I really would appreciate it So yeah we try those out And I want to see pictures So when you people get these you get them installed put pictures post them Let me see how they look And then give me your feedback Do you like the design What do you like? What do you not like? And then we'll kind of go from there. And I love spoiling my Patreon subscribers. So I've started to do more regular episodes for them as well with more, like, behind-the-scenes kind of context and, like, some personal feelings in there. Things that I don't really want to put out on the mainstream. Maybe it's a rumor I'm not totally confirmed of yet. or maybe it may reflect poorly on someone that's been cool to me, but I want to be truthful. I kind of put that on the Patreon behind the paywall. We have fun there. Had a whole candid conversation with Spooky Pinball this week that went separate from the main episode that we did. This was after lunch, dawn after dark, I'm calling it. And it's fun. We let a little bit of reality slide there. Here I stay a little more restrained, I say, and more family-focused, G-rated. But we wander a little bit in the PG-13. if you want to check that out. So all that, $5 a month. Just start for a month and see what you think, man. The feedback I'm getting so far has been great, and so I take that feedback, put it right back out there. So that's kind of where I'm at with that. The other place I'm at is playing pinball. I do it every day. I'm getting better, and I love doing it. I've been playing a lot of the new code updates that we've been getting for the past week. Stern Pinball was quick with a JAWS code update, which actually adds a lot of cool little nuance to the modes. There's a new random mystery award. I haven't really figured out exactly what's triggering that. I know it has to do with the wheel on the upper play field, but then I've triggered it on the lower play field too. And so far, it's not a thing where it's in a scoop and it traps. You can kind of look at the screen, so it's hard for me to tell exactly what's happening. But it seems to scroll through several awards and then goes ahead and awards you something. I'm getting better at learning how to use the items that you collect in-game. I'm starting to see that screen where you can cash out the items back to Quint, sell them for points. So that's fun, a little mechanism that's in there. There seems to be more integration of the night mode in the game with this new update that I'm seeing now. So there's a lot more gameplay where the lights are just way down low, and we're playing at night and, like, hunting the shark, and the inserts are really popping. So I really like that. And we're still only at, like, .87 or .88 code. So there's still even more to come to this game. I can't wait. Go ahead. and bring it stern. Also, we got updates for Scooby-Doo. I just put that one in there, finally got around to it, and they have radically changed the scoring for Scooby-Doo. Let's talk about that for a second. When I would have a good game on Scooby-Doo, I'd get like 2 to 3 million points. My GC is like 4.5 million with Daphne on Scooby-Doo. But now they've changed the scoring completely, so it's almost like 10x from where it was before. Now a good game is giving like 40 million points, which I like because it's kind of closer to where Stern is scoring now. I would like to see more standardization across pinball now because there's a whole concept now of getting a billy. If you get a billion points on a game, it's kind of like, okay, you really had the greatest game you could on there. Now, top players can put up four trillion points or something, but for me to get a billion on Rush, to get a billion on Godzilla, it was a really successful game, and so that's my goal with games to try to get there. I got a half billy on Jaws already. It was remarkable. I can't wait to get to a billy. But to get to a billion points on Scooby-Doo was going to take the glass off, frankly, from before. So now it seems more possible. You play through the multiballs. You play through the modes. Your scores are going to get up there, kind of closer in line to what's become the standard. You know, I don't want to see, you know, pinflation go too much like with Aliens, Attack from Mars, you know, where it's like every game is like 999 million points at least or something. But it was cool to see that. Also, there's just I'm noticing more call-outs, like a ton more call-outs, man. I'm hearing speech I have not heard at all before. I'm seeing more on the topper screen integration. So that's all awesome, and there's still more to come. Oh, and there's like a new mystery, too, that brings in like that evil clown where he's like doing a little hypnotism with Daphne, and then it reveals like a mystery award. That's super cool. I totally dig it. And we just got the green ghost with the last update. So, like, if you haven't played Scooby recently, make sure it's on the new code and go check it out again, especially if it's somewhere where you can hear the call-outs and things, because it's pretty remarkable what they've done. I know early on they were talking about how they had, like, you know, something like 4,000 call-outs or something recorded, and everybody's like, how in the world are you going to incorporate all of those? Well, it seems like they're gosh darn near there, because there are call-outs for days in Scooby-Doo. It was super fun playing that, so go check this game out any way you can if you haven't played it recently, and make sure it's on the new code. Make sure if it's at that pizza parlor that you bring a USB drive and be like, hey, can you open the coin door so we can update this? Because it's awesome. It is magical. We also got a code update for Labyrinth. I've been playing that as well. More callouts, more integration, and some changes with the gameplay, honestly, too, in ways that I'm not quite wrapping my head around yet. There's something about when you collect the friends, now there's a little number counter that appears on the screen. I don't know if that's like you can kind of like level them up before you cash them in. Maybe that's how it works. I need to play through it more to see about that. But there's new dancing light shows with a topper. That topper is just the greatest, man. I mean, you know, three Muppet Goblins up there on top. They're talking to you. You know, voice actor Marc Silk did the voices for. It's just amazing, just a good time. And now there's even more of it, so, like, that's fun. So that update is out. And finally, I was also able to update Looney Tunes, and I'm playing in there. There's that new cartoon mode that's available. Right now they have it where you can opt in for a setting. So when you start a mode, you can hit the action button and select which cartoon you want to play. So when they drop new episodes, which are modes that you can play, you can kind of self-select that one to kind of play through it and see the new content instead of waiting for it to randomly pop up each time. Also some more code updates and things. And there's also a mechanical fix that's available soon here. Talking to Spooky Luke and playing this game, what would happen is there's that center drop target underneath the lower left ramp. and when you hit into that subway system, it goes into a scoop and fires up around the orbit, feeding the right upper flipper. Well, if you hit it fast enough, the drop target will flex back enough that the ball will kind of wedge itself between the drop target and the stand-up target next to it and there's just no way to shake it loose. It's like wedged in there. You've got to get in there with a finger and push it through. So what is happening is if you're if it's, I mean, it's like a fast shot, like you really rip it up there before the drop target has time to respond and drop, it ends up flexing back, allowing the ball to kind of just wedge itself in there, you know, like a, like a, I was going to say a donkey on a soft couch, but that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. Like a little beagle dog cuddling up on you on the couch, you know, just like wedged in there. And then you got to remove the glass and pop it through to keep playing. There's no way to knock it loose with another ball. It gets in there. So he's devised a bracket to reinforce that to keep from flexing back enough. So we'll probably hear some more about that soon. I can't wait to put it in mine Because every 20 games or so we manage to do it So that fix should be coming The new code is awesome I love it I love the topper I love everything about Looney Tunes This should be probably game of the year And I kind of think because they've also released TCM It's going to split the spooky vote And allow Jaws to probably creep in there And really threaten for that top spot at the Twippies Not a bad problem for us to have Because it just means that there's that many great games That have already come out this year Will the second half of the year bring us as much joy as the first half did? I guess we'll have to look. I don't know if ABBA is strong enough off the bat to be able to threaten there. I don't know that John Wick is going to carry the gravitas that a Jaws does. I don't think we're going to get anything else from Spooky this year. So then eyes would fall on to JJP and their next game. Will it be Wizarding World? Surely it won't be actually a Harry Potter theme, because I don't think that's actually obtainable. Or will it be something completely different? The early kind of nod and a wink I get from people that should know of such things is that it's probably not going to be Hogwarts this year, if ever. So I guess we'll wait and see what they bring out next. Is it going to be Matrix? Who knows? Who knows? Are we going to see Back to the Future from Dutch Pinball between now and the next 10 years? I think somebody will. We'll have to wait and see what they put out. Where's this Alice in Wonderland at? Who knows? There's a lot of variables for the rest of the year, which is keeping this really exciting. but I think for sure we'll go into Expo in October and we'll have some new releases to play ABBA should be dropped by then we should see ABBA April 6th it happening over in Orbal Sweden so we wait and see about that I be back to talk all about it So one other thing I did today as I kicked back and I trolled through Pinside because there's nothing but deals. A friend of mine in Ohio recently picked himself up, nearly stole it, a Deadpool premium for around $7,000. Man, the price of a pro got that premium. Now you can argue amongst yourselves that the gameplay isn't all that different with the Deadpool pros and premiums. but I kind of like that extra little ramp that kicks the ball up to the katana to get back to the flipper. And I like the full-figured dolls, and I definitely like that disco ball. I like the disco ball. I miss the Deadpool in the hammock plastic, though. I do think that's kind of cool. Maybe you could buy it and add it in there somehow and have the ultimate premium. But, yeah, definitely a cool game. Seven grand, man. Dude stole this game. I think it was like $7,200 or something. But, you know, anytime you can get a premium for the price of a pro with some mods and things, I think you should do it. So I went through and saw what other deals are listed there on Pinside. I talked last week about the Rick and Morty Butter Cabinet new in box listed for $15,000 in Southern California. Hard to say anything's a deal at that price, but maybe there's a little negotiation room in there. $13,500 would be a heck of a deal for a brand-new never-played Butter Cabinet Rick and Morty's. I can't wait to see what that's going for. Otherwise, I saw a Mando limited edition, Mandalorian. Not everybody's favorite game, but we're still talking about an LE trim level game here, the Custom Armor, the Grogu that doesn't do anything. This one with the topper, with the $2,000 Mandalorian topper, under $10,000. $99.99, Jupiter, Florida. Go check it out and get yourself an LE Mando. Otherwise, Pro Mando with the metal ramps, probably the way to go. Maybe a premium, which there's deals out there for that too. But an LE sub-10K with that 2K topper, even I'm tempted at that price point. So, you know, I would say maybe there's a little OBO room in there even, just make it a little bit sweeter since you've got to deliver it from Florida. But, man, you know, it's a game that's kind of fun. I wouldn't mind at some point getting some more time on it. I'll just put it that way. What else do we have? Do you like Fathom? If you like Fathom, do you like Merman Edition? Do you like Fathom Merman Edition that you don't have to wait six years for? Go and pick one up right now. Also sub 10K, $99.95. Somebody's got one of those listed. A sparkling new Fathom Mermaid Edition 2.0 code. You know, that little $15 light from Spencer's that shows the blue light on the floor when you're playing it. I mean, what could possibly be better? Pick yourself up an OG Fathom, too. There's one of those up there for like $6,000 or some such. Oh, speaking of crap for $6,000. Oh, man, this is brutal. Go ahead and get yourself a Keltz. We'll stay on Haggis for a minute. Someone's listed a Keltz for sale for $5,800. I don't know if that's a deal. I think we need to be around $4,200 for me to consider that because, God, that art is just God-awful, man. It's hard to look at. You know, Oktoberfest is bad, and this is like demon spawn level. You know, just grotesque. What did they do to those poor Celts in Australia where they came out looking like that? Like, just ugly as sin. Gameplay-wise, I haven't played it. I can't really comment on it, but you tell me a $5,800 is a good price for that. But how about a Star Wars Premium somebody has listed for $78.50? That's kind of close to what I paid for my Star Wars Premium, and I almost stole that thing at that price. Star Wars Premiums are being made right now, $9,700 from Stern, and that's with no mods at all. And this thing has under 100 plays for $78.50, man. And I think there's even some upgrades in it too, man. You can't go wrong with that. Star Wars license. Hook it up to an external subwoofer and play until you blow up the Death Star, and then you'll become a true believer in the Force. like Don. Love that game. Not looking to get rid of it. Love it. $78.50. Maybe it's also an OBO situation. What else did I write down here? I can't even read my handwriting. What's a Wendile LE? 9,000 OBO. Wendile. What the hell am I writing? Wendile? I don't know what it is, but it's 9,000 OBO. Dude, I can't even see what the hell I was putting down here. Maybe I'll come back to that. Mouse and Around, $3,200, OBO. Yes, yes, I am very tempted at that price point. Mouse and Around, fun game. Super fun game. I don't know how rare it is, but I don't see it around a whole heck of a lot. But when I do see it, I play it, and those ramps are fun, man. Dare I say, it is more fun than a Whirlwind Veridal. What the hell? W-E-R-I-D-A-L. Oh, that's such a stupid idiot. I'm so tough. You know what this says? You know what this says? Weird Al. multimorphic weird al limited edition nine thousand dollars obo this is a multimorphic p3 machine with weird al the limited edition version with that topper thirteen thousand dollars is what they were asking for it thirteen thousand dollars i think is what they're still asking for this not that you can even get the limited edition model anymore with that sweet accordion topper so assuming it works nine thousand dollars or best offer offer of 8500 come and pick it up. That's a way into a P3, I think. Look, that would be like getting the module, or the game itself, the cabinet, for $5,000, which is a good price for that. $5,000, $6,000, $7,000, $8,000, $50,000, yeah, $3,500 for Weird Al. So essentially, if you were planning on getting Weird Al anyway, this would be like picking up a multi-morphic cabinet for $5,000 or best offer right now with that LE topper. Go ahead and sell it to someone else. Keep Weird Al, sell Weird Al, but go ahead and get yourself a Princess Bride Standard Edition, drop it in there, boom! You are not paying this $11.25 for Princess Bride. Well, essentially, you'd be paying the price for a standard cabinet in Princess Bride, but it would come with a free Weird Al with the limited edition topper. This isn't a bad way to go. Plus, I think you can probably OBO a little bit on this, to be honest. Maybe this guy's got some other modules you can, like, kind of cash and swing and deal in there. But Weird Al, 9K, OBO, even me, a far from an ardent adherer to the P3, multi-morphic, new age way of thinking, is kind of like, hmm, is this worthwhile? So if you were on the fence and you were thinking about going on a Princess Bride, that's the theme that's going to do it. You're going to put down the money and get it. This might be an excellent way to get in there. Plus get yourself a Weird Al module, which of all the modules that you were going to sell, that would probably be an easier sale. Now, again, if you have a P3, you probably already bought Weird Al because it's probably the best module to date. so uh uh uh well you see how that is okay one more one more for you before we go ahead and end this sunday show how about stranger things premium 79.50 now this is a game that just got re-released at 9700 for the premium with the projector and everything this is a game that was going for 14 000 last year before they announced the rerun of this game now you can get one 78.50 hardly any plays on it at all it's on pin side right now like that's a deal man I tend to lean towards the new in box because I just gotta have it now it's a character flaw that I have and I'm stuck with it and I pay the price for it but everybody else if you want to step back a little bit and just kind of wait until the initial hype has died down you can go in and get some sweet deals and get yourself some games that are just about still brand new I mean honestly under 100 games in a machine I have like 20,000 plays on my Black Knight Sword of Rage and it's playing like a raging I was going to say Lampoon but that's like a lamb and a baboon mixed together. So crossbreed a baboon and make it woolly, and that's what it plays like, man. It's just a – I was going to say a raped beast, but that's just awful. Okay, get that image out of your head. But my 20,000 plays Black Knight Sword of Rage is still going. So an under 100 play Stranger Things? I mean, come on, man. Come on. I think it's like 86 plays on it. For like two grand less, and you can get it new in box now from Stern. I mean, I think that's the way to go, man. TK Locke is working. There's no questions because somebody's already played it, already broken it in, already fixed those little issues that come with a new in-box machine. Not a bad way to go. I mean, I'd be tempted, although I don't need to have another one. Anything else? Don's Pinball Podcast at gmail.com. Give me an email, yo. Join the Patreon. Get yourself a free Jaws button, man.
