uh come on one more one more push whoa uh need any help in here coming to you from beautiful upstate new york this is the slam tilt podcast a show about all things pinball i'm your host ron hallett here with my co-host bruce nightingale holy fuck balls batman f-bomb immediately yes this is episode 194 the big expo um spectacular spectacular yes the expo recap show and other stuff and other things hey i know one thing oh what what what we're going to dallas baby That's like in March All of our fans can now hug us together Oh yes I think this is the first show Outside of our Northeast area like Allentown Where we're going to a show together Together forever Just the two of us We can make it if we try Just the two of us So don't forget But if you want anything from Miron, oh, my. People at Expo were asking, is Bruce here? No. They did ask. They did all the time. They asked me. But I was like, if he was here, you would have heard him already. Oh, yeah. Oh, man. What is it? Well, this will be, let's see, I think our last episode for a few weeks. Yes, because we have a lot of stuff going on. Because we have a lot of stuff going on and something that I got into I didn't think I would get into. Yeah, I didn't think you were going to get into it either. No, no, not at all. But, yeah, we'll get into that. But let's see. First things first. Oh, as a fly just goes right in my face. Where the hell did he come from? That shouldn't be a lot. Well, it is nice out. He's not allowed in this house. What the hell? Just a gnat hit me in the face. What the hell? I'm not editing that. Screw you. Wow. All right. Let's go over Bond's stream, James Bond. They streamed it. They did. From Jack Dangerous Place. They had the crew there, George Gomez and Mike Vinikour, etc., etc. So did you watch the stream at all? Come on, man. What kind of podcaster are you? You don't watch anything. So what the hell? Why even talk about it? You're the one that brought it up. I'm an asshole. You are a failure as a podcaster right there. But I want to be surprised. I don't want to be biased at all. You're always biased. Well, okay. I'll be like, fuck. All right, I'll just skip the whole thing and just say, go to the end and listen to the Q&A with George Gomez, because that was by far the best part of the stream. So tell us about it. Come on. No, you have to watch it. Why am I telling you about it? Say what? See, I forgot half of it already. Really? But I know, I remember it was good. So you probably played it at the show you just went to. Oh, the show I just went to. We'll get into that. I want to save that for last. Ooh, okay. Ooh. In other words, just blow by all the other items and just get right to the expo. So let's see. What else we got? RPC Tournaments. Yes. We have the tournaments. the ones we kept talking about. Well, actually, just the one we were talking about. I didn't realize there was the second one until later. Yes, yes, yes. There was the Pinball Profile World Tour Tournament, which was done as a flip frenzy. And then there was World Series. Yes. The World Series of RPC. And this was actually one of my better flip frenzies, and I ended up at a 500 record. Like something like 11 wins and 11 losses. Wow. and that is one of my better records at flip frenzy i really suck at flip frenzy yeah i didn't play and then the it ended up being won by zach yeah maybe because i didn't play that's why that's why surely but we have a fix now at the rpc now well hold on that we have day fix he's that rpc no we have that's right baby i'm at rpc baby what's the fix baby i kept on being like called on throughout the whole first hour of the tournament that we actually saw this on video this is the fucking funniest thing about it like here's what happened and literally i didn't have a second to breathe every time i get off a game somebody be waiting there or going hey bruce hey bruce hey bruce even though we had three fucking people running the show and five other people who can fix machines it was always hey bruce hey bruce hey bruce but you're the face of rbc no i'm not the face of rbc there's fucking five owners guess what guess what now now we have a light you have a light like they had at at pinberg oh you turn the light on whenever there's an issue and someone goes ah neat guess what if you if you actually come to me and i'm not one of the you have to go to the light. If you come to anyone besides the light and not turn it on, you lose that game. Talk to the light. Talk to the light. And it worked, because guess what? Sorry. Uh-oh. I lost you. No, you didn't lose me. I didn't lose you, but I... Yeah, you lost the... I think you got on your... You pulled out, it sounded like. So we used it for our league night on Sunday. Worked like a charm. Everyone up to the light. As soon as they found out that they were going to lose the game if they did this, guess what didn't get called? My name. It was quiet, except for somebody wanted to call the lamp Bruce. I like that. The Bruce lamp. Except that it didn't happen. Oh. And let me guess, you won. I got third. Oh, okay. Wait, wait. The max points are 15. We had two 15s, and I got 14. So I did pretty good. The second tournament was a World Series thing, and it was won by Zach. I think we need Raymond back for a couple days. Raymond is the only one who can beat Zach, obviously. No one else can beat Zach there. Okay. While I was there, I finally got to play Fathom. And did it break? Well, it had an issue with the left flipper button, but I was told that was already an issue. It's been an issue. There's a fucking ton of issues on that fucking game. So I would hit the left flipper button, and just every once in a while, it would kind of just do a tap pass instead of an actual flip. The cabinet flippers suck on the fucking games. So let's see. I played the custom software. Yeah. And it does sound like Marty. Yes, it does. See? It's not. I mean, I can tell it's not him. But it really close. It's really close. So then it's like, okay, but I wanted to play. Let me play classic mode. No, the thing that hit me about classic mode was the speech. It was extremely tinny. And it reminded me of, and I don't know if any of our listeners remember, or it's still around, Pin Main. When they emulate the Bally board set and they have the speech, they really couldn't emulate it correctly. So it would sound very tinny. And that's what this sounds like. And they're probably using some kind of emulator, I would think, to run the code. But the issue, the thing that made it stand out more was the fact that you guys have a Spectrum now. Yes, and the Spectrum sounds proper. And Spectrum is, yeah, stock boards and all that. And Spectrum talks a lot. Well, now it doesn't. So you get to hear it. Now it doesn't, actually. Oh, you turned it off the track mode speech? Boo. I did. Spectrum. But it's got, you know, it's good bass. It sounds good. and then you listen to the Fathom sound, and it's jarring, the difference. I agree. So that's one thing for classic mode. If they're going to work on anything, maybe try to get the speech. Even if it's just they record the speech and just play back as WAV files, do that. You didn't notice the other problem with Fathom, did you? Like if you were playing the advanced mode? No. I'll say it shot good. It's good. But when you got your bonus, it doesn't add the score to your score. That doesn't add the bonus to my score. See, I don't notice things like that. Not at all. I would get totally screwed over in tournaments because I don't notice such things. Let's see. LMRPC... A lot of repairs going, too, at the RPC. Oh, yeah. Like, after these two tournaments, everything was broken. We had five or six breakdowns. But all are fixed again now. uh we uh broke actually also diner one of the posts snapped with the screw in diner so that is going to be it's underneath the uh diverter ramp so that's you have to take the whole diverter off and everything that's pain in the ass uh what else uh oh so i pulled out again i pulled out countdown not zach's countdown my countdown my future countdown did you look inside that thing It looks beautiful. It looks beautiful. Original board set, original everything. I.e. my future countdown, yes. It works. We just have to get the play field touched up. It was played enough where the play field touched up, so I'm going to have one of our local artists come in and fix some things. Our local artist and former guest, yes. She's great at it. She's going to come in and touch up the stuff that we need to be touched up. then we're going to put back the pump bumper and all the drop targets are we have two of the four drop targets all replaced sets so I'm going to finish the other two and then I'm going to bring that home I'm going to bring that home so it's actually for league night but that thing is the cleanest yes it has all like the original paperwork stuff stapled inside it I've never seen any of that stuff the bottom of the cabinet is like disgusting dirty the back glass is like a 9 out of 10. Yep. My future countdown looks great. You're going to love Zach's countdown. No, no, no. Actually, you offer that. It's like, oh, you could babysit for me. Come on, I'll let you babysit. He's in a room. He's running in a room. Yeah. I can't lift machines anymore. Sorry. He was going to help you, though. Well, do I have any repairs? I'm testing some new code from Scott I'm testing some new code from Scott I can't say it's Gottlieb so I don't want to get anyone into trouble I can't say who it is it's got to be Billy Joe Bob Smith I mean Scott is the stern guy, the bally guy he's not the Gottlieb guy but I'm testing some Surf and Safari code Yeah, Surf and Safari, yeah. Yeah, Surf and Safari, yeah. To make it more tournament-ified and get rid of some of the randomness. Nice. And I found out from someone at Expo the same thing. They were working on it for a future tournament. They had someone working on the code for Surf and Safari. Yeah, Surf and Safari. I won't say who it is again because Gottlieb, I don't want to get in that shitstorm. I'm wondering if I even should ever stream it. Because if you go into the skill shot and it's always the same thing, like, wait a minute, how do they do that? Surprise, surprise. Nothing to see here, people. I guess I could say I did it. Yeah, I totally hacked my own code. I hacked it all. That's it. Yep, I did it. Awesome. There you go. You're doing great at this hacking stuff. Mm-hmm. Let's see. Did I update anything else, do anything else? No, not really. Okay. That's it. That's it for repairs. So we did repairs. That wasn't even on my list. Wow. See? Let's see. What else? For some more news, the Mando topper was released. Did you at least see that? I did. And it looks beautiful. It's got like a hologram in it, Bruce. Yeah, a hologram. How much do you think a hologram would cost these days? I mean, parts shortages and stuff. I mean, it's going to cost a pretty – I honestly thought it was going to be like a grand. I was about half right. holy fuck a la rue it's two grand two thousand dollars yikes yikes yeah that's pretty expensive yikes just when i think i've reached the ceiling i go for more so not not getting one i hate the game no you hate oh that's right you love the game you should buy it. You should buy the one from RPC. I'll deliver it to you, bring it down to your basement and everything. It's not yours. No, they want to sell it eventually, so I can get you a good deal. Oh, okay. You sound like you're really into it, so let's go. I can bring it home. I can bring it to you in a couple weeks. I said the topper looks cool, but I mean, I was never that much into the game. Oh, I thought you were just so like, the topper sold you on the game. I mean, I'm not going to tell the software guy to retire because of the game like you would. Oh, fuck yeah. Ah. All right. Is Halloween still working? It is. It is? It's ready for Halloween because Halloween's coming up. It is. Yay. Halloween. Do you know who loves that game? I found this out at Expo. You know who loves this game? Oh, God, don't tell me. Who loves Halloween? No, I don't. Jim Belcedo. Jim, what the hell, Jim? Jim Belcedo, former Pinberg champion and one of the organizers of InDisc. That kind of scares me. I'm wondering if he's going to put it in there. try to do some way to make it a tournament game. That kind of scares me. That's scary. But, yes, he likes Halloween. Yikes. That is so weird. That is very weird. I did not expect to hear that. I mean, he told me. I mean, in person. It's like, what? Really? Okay. You know, it's coming up in five days for sale. What? It never drains in Southern. Oh, you can get the all package. What is the all package? All right, you're confusing the shit out of our listeners as usual. He's talking about it never drains in Southern California or Indisc. The tickets go on sale, and I better make myself a note because I completely forgot. Well, the 27th is all in. Oh, yes. So the 29th was the original announce date, which I don't remember what time. It's like Pacific time. So it's like maybe 10 a.m. Pacific. Tickets for InDisc go on. And that's a tournament, folks. It's like a big, high-end tournament. It is a very high-end tournament. But they announced that on the 27th beforehand, a limited number, I can't remember how many, of all-inclusive packages. I think it does say. It said the number. You get a t-shirt. You get a four-day event pass. You get the classic match play entry. You get the high-stake entry. High stakes. You get 10 championship IFPA championship cards, and you get 10 classic 1, 2, or women's cards. The value of the package is $1,125. It goes on sale for $1,000. Yep. Now, the thing about that is it includes the match play on the Thursday match play, which is what I want to attend. So I thought about it for a second. Then there's the $500 high-stakes one that I would never, ever pay or play in. So, yeah, I'm just going to have to cross my fingers that not too many of those sell out, you know, because they're just going to take up those match play because the match play has a limit of, I don't know what it is, 100 people. I don't remember what it is. I think it's 100 people. 80-something, and I want to get in that. That will determine when I actually go to the show because if I can't get in the match play, I'm probably not going to – I'm going to go a day later. The Classics has a capacity of 120 players. Okay, the Classic – yeah, that's right. It's the Classics match play. And that includes also the four-day event pass. Well, you're right there right now, Bruce. When does the – when do they go on sale on the 29th? It says – it just says sales start October 29th. So hold on. Let me look now. Let me go back to the – because there needs to be a time. Yes, we need to set up our times. 10 a.m. Pacific. Pacific, so I had that right. Wait a minute. You were going to set up it, so are you going to Indis first? I might try. Wow. I might. I actually like that tournament, but I haven't been to TPF in 12 years, 11 years, so I think I might more go to TPF because I'd like to see more people because it does a more centralized show. People from the East go to Texas. People from the West come to Texas. People from the Central Area come down. So it's like a more centralized show. Plus, you know, you and me together. We be kicking some ass and taking some names. Okay, brother. Yeah. So we're in wrestling mode. That's right, baby. We should talk about American Pinball then. That's right, baby. they came out with an announcement of a brand new Tia. A brand new Tia, baby. What about their brand new game they're supposed to put out? Who knows when that's coming out? Yeah, exactly. Thank you. Galactic Tank Force. At this point, we all know it's Galactic Tank Force, so it's just when is it coming out? Remember, I'm Dave Fix, baby, and I said we were going to have two to three games a year, baby. You know how many games we've had this year? Crickets. None. Absolutely none. And the last game they did before that was one that was done by a third party. yikes it wouldn't be as big a deal if he wasn't so vocal yes about they're gonna do all this stuff it's a very um robert mueller like vibe there we're gonna do this we're gonna do this and it's like okay i'm just gonna shoot myself right in the foot that's right baby we created another edition baby god addition ways like how do you have an edition of a game that you haven't sold yet no no no no no it's for legends of valhalla baby it's like it's a different different Tia, baby. But then we had to rename all the other Tias, baby. And it's extremely confusing. God, oh fucking mighty. So, it's too confusing to talk about. Listen to the Eclectic Gamers podcast, because they talked about it much better than I will be able to talk about it. Just fuck nuts. I don't know why everyone has to have so many versions. And some of the versions are so close to each other that why is there why? Why do you need like $100 different? I don't understand it either. I don't understand it, baby. All right. Let's see what else. We're getting close to expo talk here. The Roger Sharp movie. Have you seen it? No, I could not buy the tickets. It would not let me. I did try. Neither did I. I didn't see it. I heard a lot of people liked it. I said everyone definitely should hook up and go do it. Everyone should hook up and go do it. Are you telling them to bang each other, Bruce? Is that what you're saying? I'm going to finger bang, bang. Going to finger bang, bang. I'm going to finger banger all night long. Okay. Is that a Steel Panthers? Is that a hidden Steel Panthers track somewhere? That is a South Park. Wow. Oh, that is. Okay. I was about to say that sounds like a song they would do. That is a South Park. Okay. Yeah. I've heard good things, but they're all from pinball people. So, Mr. Ron, now I'm going to actually have to call you out right now. Oh, you got to call me out. I do. So is everyone in the world sitting down and ready for Bruce to call out Mr. Ron? I was just standing up. Well, they could be. They could be in their car. So just hold on to the wheel tighter. In which case they would be sitting down. Yes. Okay. Guess what I have tickets for on December 2nd. Steel Panther. You got it, baby. Yep. It's a Friday night. I offered Ron to come with me. Yep. And what did Ron say? Nope. Why not? I don't go to concerts. Not anymore. Now, hold on. I just don't. Hold on. If Mr. Chiolis does not want to come with me, do you still want to go? No. Okay. I'm going to add a little intrigue here with this also. Intrigue. Let me just explain before you add the intrigue. Okay. It's like, my hearing sucks. That's what you have earplugs for. Yeah. Because of going to this shit, these concerts, you go to them, you have to stand for the whole fucking show. No, you don't. No, you won't. I promise you that. How do you promise me that? Front row, baby. Front row. Front row. Front row to the stage? Yes. Definitely don't want to go then. What? That's going to be too – everyone's going to be standing, bumping into me. It's going to be chaos. No, no. They're seated. It's a seated area. It doesn't matter. No, it's not seated. Everyone's going to be standing. No, this place they sit. Bullshit. Bullshit. I don't believe you. I'm just telling you. Come on. No. Front row. No. Steel Panther. I don't go to shows anymore. You're fucking old. You're older than me now. Yeah, pretty much. Everyone that makes fun of me about my age and going to tea and doing all this stuff, guess what? It's now on Ron. It's on you now. Now. Yeah. I sorry I sorry How you get front row seats I got first Boom Oh right at 10 o in the morning they went on sale I got them baby Okay I appreciate the offer and all I just don go to shows anymore The last couple I went to, it's just like, yeah, I'm kind of done with this. I can't, between as loud as it is and either having to sit or stand for long periods of time, I mean, I don't even go to watch movies anymore. It's just painful. Wow, you are horrible. I am. My body's fucked up. What can I say? If I watch a movie now, I'll watch a little bit of it, pause, get up, move around, stuff, go back to it. Get your walker out. I don't like to get my walker out. No, here's the thing. If I'm, like, speedwalking or moving, it's way better. It's when I have to stand still or stay still that it's an issue. ah that's gotta be it so i'm sorry berth you're just older to me now uh okay if it makes you feel good it makes me feel right old fart old old old old fart is wrong i'm old give me money back in my day they didn't have flippers they didn't have flippers they had nothing uh all right what else we got here uh well you do have to talk about a couple other things i i do well yeah about the goodness of torridor torridor what okay so we're back to that yes well because you you just brought up gobble holes uh how did how did i bring up gobble holes because you said just you know goes in goes out takes it away whatever you said something like that the feel of it you have to listen to it what okay so yeah we at rpc we had probably the first ever streamed game of toreador yeah and zach lost it's one of the few games he lost but i i brought it up i said you know that'd be a great game and of course he's like yeah So he picked it and promptly lost That's fucking awesome It is awesome Check it out at the RPC's Twitch channel I believe it's what Twitch.tv slash ROCPinball Give it a look You didn't say that You did Watch some Toreador I guarantee you won't see that on anyone else's channel Uh uh Gobble holes Gobble holes Bouncing around here Let's see. Then we had, okay, this actually happened at Expo. I arrive at Expo. Well, hold on to the paparazzi, Balthier and everything like that. No, no, no. But I arrive at Expo. Let me get the timing of this correct because it's very important. Actually, it's not. But I like to be, you know, accurate. Oh, I already deleted the emails. Fuck it. Okay, so never mind. So while I'm at Expo, I get an email. I get an email that says it's from Jim at the Sanctum. Oh, yes. And he says, Ron, you might get in with Bruce after all. You're second on the waiting list. Like, what? Now, where were you? You were actually like 35th. I was not even – no, I was like 20 behind you. I know. So 50. And just to reiterate, folks, it's 100 people get into this thing, but I'd say around 200 people wanted to get into this thing. Yes. So they did a lottery thing. Yep. And I was, I don't know, 160, 150? Mm-hmm. You were, what were you, 120? I was 126. 26. So we figured maybe Bruce will get in. So Bruce gets in. Like, how recent did you get in? About three weeks ago only. Only? Oh, that's a while ago, Bruce. That's almost a month. I thought it was more recent. Oh. So, yeah, I didn't think I had a shot. So I see that, and I'm thinking, well, I almost have to go down there now because the day of, someone's probably going to drop out, you figure. So the very next day, I get an email. You're in. Your spot has come up. Pay now. You have 24 hours to pay. Like, okay. So I'm in. And you paid. I paid. And you're in. I'm in. You said you're in. I checked the site. It shows me in now. When I was on the waiting list, they had my name spelled right, and now that I'm in the tournament, it's spelled wrong. Nice. Nice. So I'm going to be at 24 hours at the Sanctum. He's going to hate life. I love it. I'm going to not sleep. It's going to be great. What's wrong with that? There's nothing wrong with that. It's great. It's great. uh congratulations to soren yes hey congratulations soren he is the danish champion he's the danish destroyer yep the danish i like that the danish destroyer that's your new name soren whether you like it or not yes the danish destroyer of course you could say great dane or something nope but i'm sure everyone says that sounds more yep regal sounds more look i'm gonna a fucking kick ass and take some names. That sounds regal, the Danish Destroyer. Lots of kings were called the Destroyer. I think there was. Conan the Destroyer, he was a king. Did you know that? Yeah, I was. Yeah, okay. You just went right for my thoughts about my thing. Yeah, see, I made it right. You made it right. Yes, so Congratulations, Soren. Congrats. So the last thing before we get into the expo. I just want to say this was actually announced during the Jersey Jack podcast that was released right before Expo they couldn't hold on they couldn't wait until Expo, they had to like get this little tidbit out beforehand it was just part of it, yeah and I didn't see him at the show he might have been there, I didn't see him he was at the tour, I know that he was at the tour so Pat Lawler who just retired was at the tour. Yes. Okay. So happy retirement, Pat. I think all your games for Jersey Jack were the best games at Jersey Jack. He's going to get away. Okay. Wow. Dialed in rocks. Don't listen to any. Don't listen to Bruce. Dialed in is awesome. Oh, yeah. Wonka. It's great. Okay. It's better than Wonka. I like Wonka too. Well, just good luck on your retirement, Mr. Lawler. We're all counting on you. We're all. Okay. Expo time. Expo time. All right. So, Bruce, what do you want to ask me? I was at Expo. I talked to more people this year than I probably ever talked to. Wow. I talked to Chris Davis. Remember Chris? Yes. The guy who got Quicksilver for free? Yes, yes, yes. A couple episodes ago. He was there. He said hi. I had multiple people not hug me. It was good. Me and Christopher Franchi exchanged gifts. Oh, wow. Mm-hmm. Kind of jealous now. And multiple people asked where you were, as usual. And where was I? Where were you? Working. Working. Oh, I'm sorry. Because everyone else left for this freaking thing, and I was stuck working it. I'm sorry. Yep. So what do you want to know, Bruce? What did you see? I'll go through the rumor mill. I'll go through the stuff I heard. Mm-hmm. Now, I'm not – there is stuff I was told that I can't say on the podcast, of course. Oh, my. But I can say things like rumors that pretty much there's some of the rumors are to the point where everyone is in agreement. Yeah, this is definitely what's happening, etc. CGC, Pulp Fiction. That's the rumor next game. Single level design. And that's pretty much what I heard. Yay. From multiple, multiple people at the show. And I've heard the same thing that it's been done for months. so it could come out at any second. Not very excited, Bruce? I never liked the movie Pulp Fiction. Oh. I honestly don't. Okay. It never did a wow for me. It's a movie and the cast. What do you think of all the single-level games that are coming out? What the fuck's going on? TNA, they re-released. You've got Bond. Wait, wait. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to make all these single-level games and charge more money for less. Yes. What the fuck's going on here? The Keith Elwin Bond, and now this one. What the fuck? Okay. Am I right or wrong? What the fuck? So I heard that all over the place, so I'm going to take that as 100%. That's happening. Let's see. I heard, what was the other? Well, Godfather Rumor. You know, that's the next year's Jack Game. Eric Meunier is supposedly doing that. And I heard that in mass. Like, yeah, that's a done deal. That is what's coming. You sound more like Ozzy. That's right. Ozzy's Ozzy. Oh, shit. It was a fuck scale. It's fucking asshole. You see? That's what you sound like. I'll make him an awful. I can't refuse. That's how we've tried to sound like 30 years ago. Very good. Okay. See, I sounded just like that. Yeah, you sounded just like that. Let's see, those were the rumors And then other confirmed stuff that I can't say Who? I just have to be a dick and say that I don't know him, so guess what I'm an asshole But guess what I'll know who the next game is for Stern Easily Oh, okay Oh, that was the other rumor, thanks Whatever the next Music pin that Stern does everyone is universally saying Foo Fighters. Oh, great. So my question with that is did they record the band? Any call-outs with the band for it? And when did they do that? For obvious reasons, Taylor Hawkins died, so did they record before or after? I'm gonna die! I'm gonna die! I'm sorry, did I say that out loud? You really want me to edit, don't you? Yes, I do. The Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts have been awesome if you've watched any of them. No, not at all. Not at all? Okay. I'm sorry. So if we had the Jeff Lind Memorial concert, you'd watch that. He's still alive, though. Yeah, after he dies. And you make fun of him. He's still alive. Yeah, but would you make fun of him? Whatever. He's still alive. Okay. Don't bring me down, Bruce. You're bringing me down. He's alive. Ron. He's alive. Ron. oh i'm going to hell i'm going to hell jay Jeff Brenner oh didn't mention that jay Jeff Brenner of american pinball well currently soon not to be oh yes he he gave his uh i guess two weeks notice this he announced this on this was on facebook so i'm not saying anything not surprising anybody by saying hey so he's he's moving on. So their main tech support guy is moving on. That's also worrisome. Which is a big loss for them, I feel. Yeah, that is worrisome. That is, because he had his shit together. He really did. And even though I don't have a game from American Pinball, he's the kind of person I'd like to talk to if I had a problem with one of my games. Because he's knowledgeable, and he's got his shit all together, and yeah, I get nothing. It's going to be bad over there, I feel. Come on, Bruce. You've got to be more positive, baby. The American Dream. I wonder who won. No, no. I'm positive that it's going to suck more. Oh, God. I wonder who won the contest. Remember the American Dream contest, the top homebrew? Yeah. I don't remember reading anything about who won that. No, of course not. The homebrew section, some of them I played before, so I think they were returns. One of them, like, was it Pincraft was there, which was Brian. Ryan Smith from Allentown. I played that at Pintastic, but it was there. I played this other game that was at the end. I can't remember the title of it, but it was so brutal. It was single level, and it was made to be... It had a Spanish-ized pop bumper. Oh, I saw that. That's the one with the... Spinners all over the place, and it was just... It was like Modern Stars or something. Just brutal. Nice. Just brutal. Yes, Dave Jeff Brenner of American Pinball, after he had been drinking all day, was feeling no pain, if you know what I mean. Wait a sec. Wouldn't you be drinking if you were the employee of the American Dream? Oh, God. I don't. But he's like, you know. I don't know. Yeah, Ron, you got to play this game. This game is awesome. So, yeah. And another good reason to play the game, it had a Titan pinball mat in front of it, so you could not have to stand on the cement floor. That was a good idea. It got more plays for me just because of that. It took me like 30 games to get multiball on the thing. That's good. Brutal. I have a question for you. What? Sonic. I heard you saw some games from Sonic. I saw one game from Sonic. I saw the Sonic Amatron, the same one that was there last time on Set Expo. Yep. It played brutal. It was probably steep, a little too steep. But yeah, it played like Gamitron, except harder, this one. And the art's much better. Way cooler looking back glass on that thing. So just as an overall, they made a lot of changes this year. and this was a big improvement over last year's Expo, in my opinion, which I think you're going to find most people in agreement. Instead of having the separate vendor hall, well, they're all in the same room, but instead of having a separate vendor, yeah, they did it like I think most shows, a lot of shows do it. They're all interspersed. The vendor booths are all around the main hall, and the pre-play games are there. And I don't know if it's because Robert's going to be opening up a new location. I think it's called Past Times. Yes, he is. He's going to be in Ohio, and he has a bigger tech crew. But most of the games this time actually worked. That was great. There were some that were not level and stuff, but I forgive that. There's just so many games. They're not going to go through every single thing. Because they've got to get them in there and get them out pretty quickly. So they're not going to sit there and individually go crazy leveling games. But, yeah, the games were way better shape, way less issues. Everything was open like 10 a.m. to midnight every day. The tournament was in their own separate room. So you could actually, I think you could play in the tournament without even paying for the show if you didn't want to go to the show at all. So the seminars were finally free, like every other show. And, yeah, I went to one seminar that was Rush. And, you know, see Timmy up there? Ta-da! Big improvement. I have to say, oh, yes, Ekman, he said, I should say it was much improved because Dennis Creasel won't believe him if he says it. Ah. So Dennis Creasel, it was greatly improved. Did you see Dennis? You should probably go. No, he didn't go because it sucked last year, according to him. But yes, it was remarkably improved, I would say. Was it as crazy as Texas? No, but it also wasn't as crowded as Texas. For a lot of the games, like if you wanted to get on some of the games, well, as long as it wasn't Magic Girl, if you wanted to get on the games, the lines were not overly long. You didn't have to sit and wait for a half hour to get on a game. So what did you think of Magic Girl? So let's get into the games. Magic Girl, never played it. I got in line to play it once. and the Ron curse, the guy right in front of me was playing it. He drains his last ball and it just sits there and never ending ball search. The never ending ball search. And the owner wasn't around, so they just had to sit there. So like I wasn't going to sit around and wait. And then the other days I came super early to try to get there. And either the owner wasn't there yet and they had still had it roped off or I was already too late and there was like 10 plus people in line. The Neverending Ball Search. So, no. Never. Didn't play it at all. I played everything else, though. So, at the Pinball Brothers booth, they had Queen. Queen. And then later on, the Queen LV showed up. Limited Vagina? Duh. That you're probably going to edit. No. Okay, good. No. No more. It's rare. It's... But it's – yeah, folks, this is what he does when I don't edit. It's very rare. If you really want to hear him super unedited, you can donate to our Patreon. Oh, sorry. No, we don't do Patreon. I got so much shit from that. You should do Patreon. I'm not – nope, sorry. Nope, nope, sorry. It's all right. Nope, nope, nope. Nope, nope. Nope, nope. Nope. Okay. In the booth, the Pinball Brothers booth, they also had a bunch of aliens or aliens, whatever, including LV aliens. Yes. That you could actually see the fucking ball was amazing. They have all this extra lighting in there. It's like, wow, I could see the ball. This is great. So did you put your order in for one? No. What? It was not. I get a text from my dad. you know what he says to me son we need to get it as an alien I like the look of it literally that's what he said he said I want an alien there you go so there you go I did feel when you played Alien it felt like a game you know like by a major company I mean you look at it when I was playing Queen it felt more like a polished homebrew does that make any sense it's like well they've had three years to work on aliens so guess what yeah i would hope it would be queen queen had a lot of issues with i guess they had i was listening to the guy said they had some of the graphics weren't in yet so when it got to that it would just show blank on the screen or lock up and stuff like that so it needs a lot of work software wise still um there's nothing about the play field that really stood out is is bad right like oh my god this is like you i can't hit any shots i can't do this no it's got like this the ramp in the center it's got upper play field um most of the modes like the modes are the song so you pick your song and then it'll just tell you do this but some of them i was confused it would say hit four green shots. Okay. So the shots could be not just ramps. The stand-ups were RGB lights, so they could be different colors. So they would turn green, so you hit those. Or the drop targets would be green, you hit those. But at least a couple times I was in modes where it said, you know, hit the green shots, and there wasn't a single fucking green shot on the play field. You've hit zero of five shots or whatever. That was the upper play field on that. It's all right. It's all right. It was all right. It wasn't bad. Nothing about it was just like, oh, my God. It was just kind of there. I mean, it was cool seeing Queen, and they picked all the good shows. It's got the Montreal show on there. It's got the Budapest show. It's got the Wembley show. Yeah, I mean, what I will say, though, and this is why call-outs are not always a good thing. Let me explain. So I played it. They had it set up actually smartly, I think. They had single player only, two ball originally. They went to three. They sent the three ball later on. But the game doesn't play long. It's not super easy. Yeah. So I kind of like that. But I played it, and then my dad played it. While my dad's playing it, I put my ear up to the speaker so I could actually hear the game. Yeah. Because it's loud in there. You can't really hear it. So I heard some of the call outs. Oh, no. From the band. Now, if you remember, well, I don't know if you heard the podcast. But they sent a script to Ryan May and Roger Taylor, and they just recorded their own shit and sent it back. They weren't coached in any way or anything like that. They just did their lives. So their call-outs are not very inspired. Go get the ball. Especially the Roger Taylor ones I heard were just like, ooh. It's one of those deals where they might have been better served just doing like Iron Maiden did. you just have like some energetic you know couple voices and and that's it that the call it's not like metallico or you got you know yeah there's nothing like that it's nothing like that that i heard yeah yeah that's the one thing i was just like so can i have a non call version check please um yeah but i thought alien was the star of their booth People were loving Alien Well, now you can see it. And it didn't break down, it sounds like. No. Hey, you're going to get a plus plus. They actually worked, yes. Yes, 100%. They must have been changing computers out every day. Oh, Jesus Christ. Got one through. Hey, let's try. Hey, we make a good up in the bar, though. Did you see Mario around there? Mario. He fixed the game in the back. Mario is fixing them. Watch out for the barrel. The barrels are coming away. Sorry. Now I'm doing it. Um. What else did I play? I played more Tour Story. and when I played Toy Story, the first day, I could hardly hear it, and it improved the experience. Oh, I definitely would agree with that. It's like, I don't mind the callouts, but the music, I just can't stand on that game. But not being able to hear it, I actually had, and the slings, I mean, they're still not powerful enough, but they're only 20-volt slings. But I was actually drained from the slings a couple times. Like, oh, okay. And the ones I was playing played pretty good. I still could never hit that damn motorcycle Canadian guy, the ramp that comes up. Oh, the Big D, the Boo, whatever his name is. I couldn't. I always missed that. Jock my balls. I enjoyed that more than I thought I would. I'm okay with Toy Story. I have to have no volume with it and just keep the sound down and and we're good so if anyone could come up with an alternate uh music package for that uh let's see what else um did I play let's play a lot of old games like Columbus Columbus game I saw oh the 1492 game yes yes Robert brought a lot of the weird the European games including one that had to be at a slope of at least 10 degrees. Wow. I mean, I thought I was playing fucking Banzai Run upper play field on this thing. Yikes. Like, Jesus Christ. But you could still, the flippers were still strong enough to reach the top, but it was so ridiculously raked. So it's indigenous, it was indigenous pinball. I think they had the wrong legs on it, I'm pretty sure. Let's see. What was, there was other new games there. I'm missing, I'm missing something. You got Bond. Oh, Bond. Yes. Jesus, I don't forget that one. Well, Moneypenny, what did you think? They had a Bond, Bond Pro, and Premium. So I played the Premium first. Let's see, the Pro, the R package, it's not that good. It's very yellow. I don't mind yellow. I mean, Taxi is yellow. Tommy's yellow? But the Backglass is just not. Oh, it's hard. The Premium is much better. much better artwork so i played the premium first and if they're releasing this in november i gotta get the software a little bit further along because it is really it is like beta software right now or is it pre-beta that was even one of one of the q and a's on the bond stream was i noticed all the the text looks like it's from stranger things and they said yeah yeah it is because that was Lonnie's last game, so he's using that as the framework for the text, but it will eventually be bond text or whatever. But the bonus was insane. The bonus would be like five times my score. Yeah, that's scary. So don't tilt ever. The one I was playing, it broke. The one up post, you remember on Stranger Things had the up post that would come up and fly out or break? That's what happened on this one. Excellent. Which is interesting. Then I went to the Pro. Okay. The Pro is better. Wow. The Pro is there is no reason to get a premium. The premium. Except for the, it gets you a prettier cabinet, prettier back glass. It gets you Bond on a wand, which they haven't really, it's, you can't control it yet. That's coming later. So maybe it'll end up being super cool. it gets you the physical locks behind the dildo rocket and it gets you the creature from the Black Lagoon thing from Monster Bash under the playfield which you know whatever the interesting thing though if you watch the Bond stream which they streamed at premium and I noticed it I'm playing premium at at expo it has two pop bumpers instead of the usual three it's got two they fire at the same time oh no they ran they must have ran out of addressable coil that you know their node boards only have so many coils they can control oh no and they definitely they ran out how do you run out well and during during the stream george gomez said how originally the the dildo rocket it they had a coil in there so it actually like they could move it they would shake it and he said you know we found we figured after a while that you know we really don't need that in there well no i i think yeah we're gonna take that out because we ran out i think they have i don't know what it is 16 18 addressable coils or whatever and it's they have too many chock full of coils is that heavenly coffee i don't know how we can complain about that they literally try to put so many mechs in there that they ran out. Wow. And when you play the pro, both pop bumpers, separate. Individual. And it pops way better, of course. Of course it does. And I cannot see it now. I look how it pops there, and I look the pop bumper action on the pro, and it's like, yep, another reason to get the pro. Ron, the problem is you're never going to get a pro. Yeah, I'm going to be too busy getting the Keith Elwin Super Duper LE. Yes. Whenever we find out, I think it was this week. I don't know. I haven't heard anything. I thought it was this week. I talked to distributors and they were like, we don't even know shit. We have no idea. No idea the price. No idea. No idea. They haven't told us shit. Yeah. Scary, hasn't it? Well, I mean, it's exciting. It's Keith Elwin. Oh, of course it is. But a single level $17,500 game. But as I talked to some guys in the tournament room, they were like, yeah, it's Elwin's play field, but it's not his software. I was like, oh, that's right. It's going to be Mark Panaccio. It used to be at Williams. I'm screwing up his last name. Panaccio, something like that. It's going to be Elwin, but not his software. So, you know, you've got to think about that. I'm thinking more like, okay, when's Elwin's next game? It's got to be next. You know, I heard another rumor I heard, again, this was actually in a tournament area from a bunch of players. They were saying they heard that Ellen's going to be on, like, two-year rotation now. I was just like, why? I know. Why hold back your best asset and your biggest seller? I know they got more designers now, but, I mean, it's Ellen. Godzilla. Well, they don't really have more designers. Well, they got Brian Eddy. Yeah. They got Jack Danger. Yeah. They got Borg. And you lost Richie. Play better. Yeah, so they really don't have the same amount of designers. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Maybe they're going to have more designers, Bruce. Oh, they are, huh? Maybe they're going to have Mark Ritchie. Oh, that was the other thing I heard, that the Pulp Fiction, it's Mark Ritchie. Pulp Fiction, Mark Ritchie. Which I had heard that. That rumor has been around forever. Yeah. But, I mean, they were talking about it like it's just fact when I was there. So let's see. What other things did I play in there? Did anyone come up to you and hug you? I think so. Yes. Mission accomplished. I talked to Rodden Osborne from Australia. G'day. Hey. G'day. I saw that on Facebook. He talked my ear off for like an hour and a half. That's fucking awesome. I got to learn a lot about Hankin. Remember Hankin? Yes, I do. It sounds like they just ripped off other playfields. No. Yeah, pretty much. No. Yeah. He was talking about he saw a game there somewhere that had, what is it? It was a flash, but instead of drop targets, it had the old Williams swinging target in both places. And I'm like, how does that even work? That's like douche chills. The five bag is just a swinging target. What the hell is that? Who were you happiest to see there when you got there? Everybody. It was nice to see. No, no. It had to be something like, oh, wow, that's really cool. I haven't seen him or heard from him in a while. Because I see them at the previous show. It's all the same people, Bruce. Wow. It literally is all the same people. It's just like, hey, look, it's Jeff Teolas. I just saw you the previous week, you know, or two weeks ago. Hi. I just saw you at District 82. Hi. I just saw, you know. I know. It's a very small group of us psychos. Why didn't you play the Olympics? I might do that next year because Saturday was kind of, you know, deadage time. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I was. Oh, well, so the tournament. So the tournament had its own room. and they do the bracket of doom. The fucking bracket of doom. But instead of like two out of three for every series, they were doing three out of five in the winner's bracket. Oh, Jesus Christ. I think it was something to get maximum whopperfication. How do you not get maximum whopperfication with all those people? All that stuff, when they talk about it, I space out because I just, whopper, what? What? TGP, percentage, it was something like that. And they were all like the latest sterns and like factory settings. and the tournament, the main tournament was supposed to end Saturday night. It ended, I think, four or five o'clock Sunday. God, oh, fucking mighty. Yeah. So it went a real long time. So if you want to see Stocks, Stearns get absolutely destroyed, this was the tournament for you. Oh, joy. But I did play in the classics. And? And as you know, like I did last year, this year I tried to do the same thing, which is I want to be one spot out of the playoffs because I leave Sunday morning, and the playoffs for Classics are Sunday. So I'm not going to be there anyway. So I want to get Whoppers, but I don't want to make it in. I don't want more Whoppers. I don't want to make it in because I can't play it. Right? So it was top 32, so I'm gunning for 33. Right? Last year I was 37th. This year, 34th. Wow, you're getting better. I almost got there. I almost got perfection. Funny. If I kept pounding money in there, chances are high I could have got it. But I just didn't. But Saturday, that would have been the day, yeah, to go to Pinball Olympics. Maybe next year. I could see doing that. Because really, the best day to go if you want to just play stuff is Thursday. Because it's pretty – way more people are there Friday. Like Thursday, you can get on stuff, unless it's Magic Girl. You can get on anything you want pretty quickly. Mm-hmm. And that's what I did. Which you enjoyed. Yeah. So I think, yeah, maybe for next year that would be a good thing. We got there in time to catch the last bus for the Jersey Jack tour, but it was sold out. Cute. We got there. It's like, we made it. And I go to the desk where it's supposed to be, and it just has a thing that's sold out. Like, ugh. And the buses are right there. It's like, oh. That sucks. No tour for me. Did you get a new hat from the Loser Kids? Yep. I got a new Loser Kid hat. There you go. I talked to Zach Minney about his back surgery. Us guys with fucked up spines, we got to stick together. It's the fucked up spine club. I hear. Let's see. What else? Is there not much else I can actually say on the air? Oh, my God. Why not? I can't. I can't. That wouldn't be kosher. Ethical? It would be ethical. See? Do you have any questions? Any more questions? Are you going back next year? Yes. 100%. And you should too, folks. Go to the Pinball Expo. They really did pretty much address most of what everyone said. Like, you need to change the hours. You need to do this. The seminar should be free. They filled the hall, pretty much. That's good. Oh, Beavis and Butthead was there again. Galloping Ghost brought the Beavis and Butthead prototype. Good. They had a console section with all kinds of generations of consoles. They had an Atari 2600 there. Nice. And it had Adventure. Nice. Do you remember Adventure? Oh, I remember Adventure, yes. So I played it to see if I could get the Easter egg. And? And I did remember it. I got it. For those at home, Easter Egg was a game for the Atari 2600 made in the late 70s. Adventure was the game. Adventure. It was the first game with Easter Egg. Yeah, I think it's got to be. The first known. The first known. Atari didn't let the designers get credit. That's one of the reasons companies like Activision came around, because it was a bunch of Atari employees that quit and set up their own company, Activision. So if you play the Activision games, they'll actually say, program by so-and-so. But the Atari games didn't. So this guy put an Easter egg in the game with his name, Warren Robinette. I'll never forget the name. I took a screenshot of it. It didn't come out well because it was a CRT TV they had the thing hooked to. I'm surprised I would ever play a game like that just because it's not like you. There's castles. You've got to get keys to get into castles. There's dragons. You've got to slay dragons. Then there's all these other objects. But to get the Easter egg, you have to go – let's see. You have to go to the White Castle to get – not the burger place, Bruce. Just so you know. You've got to go to the White Castle to get – let's see. You've got to get the key for the Black Castle and then the – or – I'm trying to remember where the bridge is. The bridge is there. But either way, eventually you've got to get a bridge. There's a bridge. You can carry a bridge around, and you go into the Black Castle, into this room that flashes for no reason, and you go into a secret area of the room, and you get the micro dot, the secret micro dot, which you can only see in this room. It's just not visible when you come out of the room. And you've got to carry it to a certain place. And then you also, I forgot this part, you had to get the chalice too, the golden chalice. You've got to get that, and you've got to bring them both in the same room, and then the wall disappears, and you go through the wall, and then it's got the guy's name. Yep. And it worked. I had the stupid bird thing. You know, he flies by and grabs your shit at the worst time. You remember that? That was in the harder difficulties. You grab him and you try to get him trapped in the gold castle. So I know this has nothing to do with pinball. They also had a Dragon's Lair CDI game, which I had never seen. So I start playing it, and the moves are different. So I took that as a challenge until I just kind of cheated and looked it up and saw how different a lot of them were. and then it had the Dragon's Lair itself, the final board. It didn't even have a moveset. It said, if you can figure it out, let me know, like on the website. It's that complicated. It's like, oh, screw this. I'm not going to play all the way for that shit. Yeah, it was a great time. Had by all. Let's see, the tournaments. I believe Zach McCarthy won the main tournament. Congratulations, Zach. and Steven Bowden won the Classics tournament and there was a women's tournament and a kids tournament let's see if I can figure out who won those I'll look it up now the weird thing is the bracket the bracket for the main tournament was online but then when they started the Classics it wasn't so I had to I kept messaging people that were there, can you take a picture of the, because they had on the wall. Can you take a picture of the brackets so I know who the hell's winning? That's funny. Oh, bummer. No, they don't have the kids or the women on here on the Never Drain site. They must have did that separately or something. Okay, I apologize deeply, humbly, and sincerely for not getting that information. Anything else? No, that's about it. I've asked questions. I was ignored on some. I was, you know... What were you ignored on? I re-butted on some, you know. Okay. All right. I'm just hurt. You're just hurt? Are you butt hurt? Everybody hurts. Every butt hurts sometimes. Very good, Michael Stipe. Very good. Yeah, I think that's it. So I guess it's time for the ball bag. I love the ball bag. I'm sure you do. Oh, and if you're in our queue to be a guest, don't worry, we haven't forgot about you. No, we have not. I just wanted to get a solo one out of the way for the expo. Expo solo. Oh, and I did mention I did go to the seminar, but I didn't mention it was an awesome seminar, the Rush Seminar. Good job, Timmy. Timmer. I miss Timmy. Let's see. This is from Ed. Hi, Ed. Hi, Ed. Hi, Ron and Bruce. Love the podcast. My favorite by a mile. Mile? Oh, my. Not a kilometer? Kilometer? No, he's not Canadian, I don't think. It says he's in Kentucky. Kentucky, okay. See, question. Maybe you can shed some light on. Why is there not a Megadeth pinball machine? Because they're not as big as Metallica. No, they're not. Hello, me. It's me again. Hello, me. It's me again. That'd be great. That'd be a great way to start the game. Hello, me. It's me again. Wouldn't that be awesome? Sweating bullets! Yeah, okay. Artwork would be amazing. So many awesome albums from the 80s through today. They're still very relevant in the metal world. Their new album, The Sick, The Dying, and The Dead, has went number one in several countries and their best album since Countdown to Extinction, in my opinion. They're neck and neck in album sales with Rush, so there's that. Let's see, maybe it's a license deal. Maybe Dave Mustaine doesn't like it. You never know, Dave. You remember when he was on Rock and Roll Jeopardy? Yes. It was always him that would win, Gary from Howard Stern, Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray and what's his name from Poison C.C. DeVille he was like totally seemingly wasted but he would get every question right it was the weirdest thing the weirdest thing I agree I think he's like savant like abilities so yeah I think that's why they haven't done it because there's a Metallica one I think they're seen as more of a second tier I'm sure not by their fans. Let's see. Maybe Spooky will make one. Actually, it's not really horror, is it? No. It's really not a good pinball company. Boom, boom. Oh, I didn't say it. I did. Yes, you say everything. Ryan C. Ryan C. He sent this thing. I'm not reading the whole thing, but basically Jon Norris. he's he's gone around to all the different manufacturers and no one wants to hire him yeah i know that's pretty sad that's a bummer oh sad if anyone can make a play field it's him it's him plus he he was involved with doing his rules and all that yep he has a lot of experience and none of these companies that you want to hire him which is pretty piss poor i mean unless there's something else there that we're missing i mean i know he was at cern briefly. And he had some kind of incident there. I don't remember what was involved in all that, and he left. So I don't know. Very weird. How bizarre. Ding, ding, ding. Please, please, Jon Norris, help him out. Maybe we should try to get him on the show. He put a video out there, the most flow possible. And literally, he just made this design that was nothing but flow. The ball never stops. It was insane. let's see. We have a, uh, email here from our Scott. Hi, Scott. He sent us a link to a website in, uh, France, I believe. Oh, we, we, where they're making a spider chips. Yes. For those that have spider chips or what's used on the, golly, it's just the ones that you can't get anymore. So they're making spider chips, which is a good thing. That is a good thing. So thanks, Scott. let's see oh we have a tech question i've been waiting for this all week this is from bob hi bob okay he says hey dudes enjoyed your latest episode with Glenn Hi Glenn I should add PMPP to my growing list of pinball podcasts On the topic of licensed themes in pinball, I think they are done because they are easier to develop since the story has already been created slash fleshed out. And all the designer has to do is figure out how to translate that to pinball. It's a bit like retheming an existing pinball machine is easier than creating one from scratch. I'm sure licensed themes bring instant recognition, but I hope some manufacturers still make an attempt to make the next great unlicensed game, Dialed In, because there have been some great ones in the past, Dialed In, and it would be a shame if we lost out on that creativity. Thank God we're losing Dialed In. Oh. Oh, shit, sorry. Okay. Oh, he's one of the Firepower 2 question. Remember the Firepower 2 question? Yes. The diverter thing and all that. Yep. As was mentioned in a previous ball bag submission, I probably need to break down and do my first flipper rebuild on a Williams System 7 machine, Firepower 2. After doing some research on the topic, I wanted to get your take on a few things I'm considering. Pick of my flippers below for reference. Which there's no. Oh, he sent a second email with the pic. Several people recommended putting the coil terminal side at the plunger end instead of the coil stop side. That is correct. I recommend that, too. I mean, they didn't do that from the factory up to a certain point, and then they did. The reason is when it pounds in the coil stop over and over, the vibration on that side makes it more likely for the wires to break off the terminals. Yes, I said pound, Bruce. so what do you guys think i say sure yes okay uh i tend to lean keeping it as it was originally installed nope they were wrong if you have slack i would move it if it's too much into you could be lazy and not move it i'm pretty lazy let's see was reading the adding capacitor in parallel with the eos switch helps to extend the life of the eos switch from what i've read It looks like a 2.2 – what's the UF mean? Microferret. Microferret? Okay. I just – microferret or ferrin? Ferrin. See, I'm proof you can fix games and not even know what the terms mean. I don't know half the shit. Jesus fucking Christ. 2.2 microferret, 250-volt caps are used. Should I add them? For – see, some people will say no. Some people will say yes and no. Because the System 7 machines, I don't believe, had the capacitors on there originally. I agree. They put them on in System 11. But, I mean, would it hurt putting them on? I mean, it's a spark suppressor. It's basically to decrease the spark to extend the life of the EOS switch. So I don't like the idea. Well, I'd say it doesn't hurt. It never hurts. They weren't there originally. The thing is, for home play, if you get a brand new EOS Switch and it's a home use game, you're not going to blow through it. Mm-hmm. I mean, a lot of the EOS Switches, it's never been changed. Like, the tabs on them will be completely gone. Yes. You're not going to get that on home use. I agree. So let's see. That sounds right. I believe that's correct for the caps. I don't like the idea of soldering on an upright play field and not willing to pull it out. Oh, my, he says. So I was thinking I should add Molex connectors to the power, ground, EOS, and flipper call to make it easier to put it back on the play field or remove the next time I need to do flipper work. Bruce, you can answer on that. I think you did that for hot-dogging, didn't you? Yes, I did. Yeah. Definitely. It's a lot better. So there you go. You get a recommendation from Bruce. Yeah. I also think most of it could be soldered on a work table much easier instead of on the play field. Yep. Yep. I think the original coils were likely FL23600, but it looks, based on the two diodes, like someone before me replaced the coils with parallel ones. They seem to be unlabeled. Does that sound right? I have to look at the schematic. Isn't Firepower 2 – Firepower 2 is the first game they used with the 50-volt – It's the first game they used with the 50-volt flippers. Yes, it is. It has the extra board on it for the 50-volt flippers. That it does. So, yeah, I would check the manual. Check it. I was playing Godzilla at the York show. Still don't have mine yet. Brownie face. It's the truth. You got them was going to laugh because it's so piss poor. Well, during the Q&A section of the Bond stream, when George Gomez was saying how they have an accessories line, they have the game line, I was like, You should have a third line that just does Godzilla premiums. That's all it does. Just constant Godzilla premiums. Okay, I got a question for you. Okay. Was my buddy the flasher there? Your buddy the flasher? If you're asking if Dwight Sullivan was there, yes, I saw Dwight Sullivan. Was he on a panel? No, I saw him in the vendor hall. It's actually not a vendor hall. It's not a free. The convention center. He was there. So I could have went up to him with the flasher, just hit him right in the eyes with that, and it would have been good? Yes, and he would have been escorted out probably. Why? His pinball machine does it to me. You done? No, I'm not done. I think it is updated code because I noticed there's now a ball save when you shoot through the base of the building that I don't recall from earlier in the release. Anyway, there's a callout that I thought was a bug in an earlier version of the code, but it's still there. I don't recall the exact quote, but it ends with bonus, and the bonus just seems out of place. Like it's a botched edit or something. Do you know which callout I'm talking about? Is it a bug or a feature? I don't know. That would be you. Yeah, I don't know. I don't recall that one. My beef is with the one line. What is it? Monster Zero, just turn up the sound. That sound, it's killing us. And that's how it's said. It's not said like, you know, that sound, it's killing us. It's like, no, you should be more energetic. That sound, it's killing us. Maybe they couldn't figure out a funny way of saying it that it didn't sound serious, maybe, because everything is so campy in the game. It is. There's got to be a way to make that funny, though. That sound, it's killing us. There, something like that. Wowzers, yeah. Yes. I don't recall that one. I am having issues with the sound on mine where I'm getting, like, just cutting. Oh, I like chopping. But it's only during the game. Like if I go into the sound test and go through every day, and you can run through like every single line. It's like a thousand call-outs. It's fine there. But during the game, it cuts. It's weird. It's like distorted at certain points. I can't figure it out. Let's see. Next email. Oh, it's a picture. Picture pages, picture pages. Lots to do with picture pages. It has lots to do with crayons and with pencils. It's the flippers. And, yeah, if you've got room, which looks like you have enough room, I turn those coils around. Put those tabs the other way. Yes. Turn it around. And we've got a video from Chris of Toy Story Sling Action. Take one guess at what it is. Tap, tap, tap, tap. Yep, yep. It's the ball going boink, boink, boink, boink, boink, boink. It wasn't doing that at the show. Maybe because of the lower voltage, it couldn't get all the way from one side to the other side. No, it actually drained me. It was more powerful. Oh, wow. They must have heard from Ron Hallett. Mm-hmm. It's amazing, though. The one, the dialed-in net was there. It had a protector on the scoop. Mm-hmm. So half the time he shot it, it would reject. It was floaty. And the magnet, when it catched the ball, instead of flinging it, it would just kind of drop off like a turd and go right down the middle. Because it's a turd. It's amazing how you just have a few things can make a game as awesome as that just suck. It's not a turd, asshole. It is a turd. No, it's not. It's Pat Lawler's masterpiece. Hey, hey, hey, everyone, comment. Tell Bruce he's wrong. It is a masterpiece. Dialed In is a masterpiece. If you think it's a master dump, chime in i like wanka too does that make me bad i know i know it wasn't cool to like wanka especially with the tournament types they all hate it kind of suck no i'm sorry did i say that loud oh yeah i did the certain tournaments that's why i couldn't believe jim belcido liked halloween because all the tournament types hate it maybe he was maybe he was under duress no he was i i heard i got confirmation from other people oh yeah he loves it like, really? Weird. It's like with the tournament crowd, there's certain games you just know they're going to hate. Like, oh, yeah, I hate that. You just, you know. They need to open up their mind. Sometimes I think they're just too into score. Have some fun. Help me. Help me. Bruce, you've made the finals. Your final game will be on Dialed In. Den, den, den, den, den, den, den. At least admit the music's good. You know, David Thiel. It is good. That is. Yes, I agree. That is. It could have that level of music on Toy Story. What's the thing? You've heard Toy Story, Bruce. You've actually seen the movies. Is that like... No. Is that music what's in the movie? No. Well, it's in four. Okay. Four is the worst one for music. Yeah, but I mean, is it close to what it sounds like? Are they just falling? Is it really just the movie music I don't like? I need to have a little artistic splurge with the music. Artistic splurge. I'm just wondering if it's just the movie music I don't like, and they're being faithful to it, and I just don't like that music. I'm bored. Okay. Get off my lawn! Get off my lawn. I'm trying to think if there's any other things I wanted to bring up from Expo. I can't think of any. We went to this burger place that played nothing but death metal. That was interesting. That's awesome. And you go into the bathroom, the graffiti in there was quite awesome. I was tempted to take some pictures. Like someone, right, let there be light, and there's an arrow going to the light switch. You know, there's pictures of, like, penises and stuff on the wall and all kinds of, it was quite insane. I heard you light that penis picture on the wall. Yes, it said, for a good time, call Bruce. Yes. Okay Oh my god Bruce you are so disgusting Yes I love doing a valley girl voice I don't know why Valley girl Oh my god I played this game It was so great it was called Dialed In It had like a phone It was awesome Okay are you ready for the next thing Oh the next thing I'm done with my list so what's We have a next thing We do have a next thing What is it Would you or would you not buy that? I thought we can only do that if we have guests. I thought that was the law. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is between me and this guy now. Between me and this – who's this guy? Whoever's selling stuff that I'm going to make fun of. Oh, okay. All right. For those at home, for those driving, take out your phone while driving. Go to eBay. While driving, screw everything else. Go to eBay, and in the search box, type in this number that Bruce is about to give. Here we go. Yeah. Ticket number 225-159-723-311. All right. The game's back glass. Oh, no, I'm just kidding. It's a Flight 2000 pinball back glass by Stern. Okay. Okay, number one, it's $989. I think there should be three-quarter price because there's only three-quarters of the actual back glass here. Oh, my goodness. Does it have any comments? Not really. Not really. It's just like, what the fuck? Yeah, maybe $20, $30. I don't know. I mean, it literally, look in the upper left. Is that part of the paint that came off? Maybe. It could be. It's a piece of it, I bet you. Can you name the back glass next to it? Let's see. Okay. Clue, it's a game I owned. You owned? Yeah. Hmm. I cannot tell. You should be able to get it. It's one of my games, you asshole. I was at the show. I fell asleep during one of the seminars. I know. I saw that from Joe Taravito. I don't know what game. I couldn't tell you. It's Firepower, dipshit. That game sucks anyway. Fuck you. That's why you get rid of it. That's why you get rid of it. It sold like a shit ton. Okay. You ready for the next one? But, yeah. Folks at home, yeah. Like the entire bottom half of the back glass, the paint is completely missing. So, yeah. That's ridiculous. No, I would not buy that, Bruce. Okay. Ticket number 374. 250-948-296. Ah, I had a psychic abilities. It's the game's back glass. The one that Bruce has been looking for. Only $1,489. It costs like $1,000 more than the game. Exactly. Holy shit. Wait a minute, it's the same guy. Same guy. What a dick. What the hell? This one looks significantly better, though. It looks better than the other one. At least you have maybe 97% of the artwork here. Oh, yeah, the bottom looks like shit again. Yeah. Actually, the actual artwork itself is shit. Why do you want this back? You should have someone do a new one. I know. But for $1,489. No, I would not buy that, Bruce. These aren't as fun because they're utterly ridiculous And they don't have any cool comments Like description that we can make fun of Oh he does Did you read it? It just says the game's pinball back glass It doesn't say any You know Restored from our late whatever No I know something like that No Nothing like that at all So here we go ticket number 225 How many of these are there? what how many of these are there go more okay 225 159 743 117 dildo rocket for use in james bond how'd you get this i'm really good okay middle earth okay these are oh it's are these all from the same dude yeah i just need an addict to this guy Okay. It's a Middle Earth play field. Not the game. Not the game. Practice. Not the game. Just the play field. Not the game. $2,500 for the play field. Missing stuff on it. Oh, it's missing stuff. It's missing stuff. Oh, it says populated, but obviously not completely populated. Not completely populated. Middle Earth. Okay. It's like, what the fuck? Are people on crack? Uh, if someone buys it, sure. Yeah, but if somebody tries to sell this, it's like, holy shit. I don't see any watchers on this one, though. No, I don't think he has much watchers. I mean, the inlaying guy's missing. There's no flippers. No displays. Oh, yeah, that's right, because they got the displays in the play field. Yep. He took all the good, valuable stuff, left the crap stuff, and went, Huh, $2,500. Okay. Yeah, it's pretty sad, isn't it? Let's continue the dicking. No, no, no. That's all the dicking. I'll let off on that dicking. Okay. I won't go dry. Okay. So no more? No more. Okay, okay. See, Bruce cut it short. I did. It would have just been another ridiculous price thing from this guy. Okay. I think that's it. Is it? Yeah, I think so. Okay. That is it. So we'll be back sometime after we recover from the 24 hours at the sanctum. Mm-hmm. Where I'm sure to dominate and win it all. Wow. Or I will win it all. Oh, no, I won't. No. Zach will win it all. No, he won't. No, he won't. No, it's just me. Just you. Wow. Just me. Yep. Confidence is high. Confidence is at an all-time high. It's an all-time high. Bond reference. Did it. Yes. So how do they get in touch with us, Ron? They can email us at slamtillpodcast at gmail.com. That's slamtillpodcast at gmail.com. The most annoying part of the game isn't even part of the license. I mean, as far as I know, Rollercoaster Tycoon, the game, didn't have a troll in it. Yum, yum. Yum, yum, yum. And you can't hit your first rule. You break. You have an annoying character that moves, but you can't hit it. Got it. And he's the one who, like, if anyone invented the rule, it was him. With Rudy, I'm going to have this thing make fun of you, but you can hit him right in the face. You know, that's the first time I ever saw that game. Like, oh, you can hit that thing somehow, right? It doesn't look like you can, though. I mean, they wouldn't have him just be annoying and yell at you and you can't do anything. Yes, we can. Damn it. We are the Slam Tilt Podcast.
