After years of questionable moves, Atari definitely seems to be getting back on the right track. This morning the Company launched a new line of desktop art and shadowboxes in conjunction with a company called Artovision. The first two games featured in the art are the arcade version of Asteroids and the console favorite Adventure. The desktop art is printed on 3/4” thick optical-grade acrylic with UV cured inks and measures 4 1/2" x 6". The shadowboxes measure 12" x 15 1/2" x 2 1/2" and are printed on 1/8” set in a high quality finished MDF wood frame ready to hang. Atari is charging $39 for the desktop art and $149 for the shadowboxes. They look really neat and would make cool arcade decorations. Back in the day, I would have been all over the desktop art. It looks really neat. These days, I'm trying to collect less stuff though because A) I already have so much of it and B) I want to move in the next couple of years. The manufacturer of these, Artovision, has a whole bunch of licensed art for other companies on its website as well. https://atari.com/collections/artovision-dimensional-artworks https://artovision3d.com/ "Carefully pilot your spaceship through deadly asteroid fields as you dodge flying saucers and destroy giant interstellar landmines as they hurl toward you in this 1980s arcade classic from Atari." "An Evil Magician has stolen the Enchanted Chalice and has hidden it somewhere in the Kingdom.
