So I have... Okay. Okay, that'll be good for AIR. Okay. Okay. I like that. Let's just do it. Hey Kay, Kay, nope. Let's not start there. Are we live? Yeah, let's be live. Hey Kay, let me hit you with something. The other day, I'm on location, and here's the games I played. And we're talking pinball here because this is a pinball podcast. It's called Pinball Party. I played Dune. I played King Kong. I played Ninja Eclipse. No shit. I played Dungeons and Dragons. I played another King Kong, this time it was a premium. Then I played Evil Dead. And this is all within the span of let's say a couple hours. This week's topic is the most fun games I had that day. The two games I had the most fun with that day were The WalkingDeadPro and GhostbustersPro. Now, what struck me about these newish games was I went there specifically to play the new shit. And Ninja Eclipse was one I was like, oh, I didn't think I was ever going to play that. Oh, in one location? Yeah, Bad Penny in St. Paul. Man, they have all the games. Oh, they got all the games. Yeah, I think... Okay. Yeah, great location in St. Paul. Bad Penny, get you some. Starcade, Kagan something. It's a great place. And so I'm there playing these. I get to Dune. And frankly, I was most excited for Dune because Dune's just like, oh, man, it's a wild... what's it going to be? Yeah, yeah, let me get in on this. A lot of sand, that's fine. I don't give a shit. I like sand. And, uh, like this sounds really good. Uh, and after like the third ball I'm like, I don't enjoy a single shot on this fucking game. What is happening? But I really liked the back screen underneath like, you know, the normal screen where you would see like a stern, etcetera. And then is that like a lower screen that they do barrels? That's from Deep Root. Yeah, okay. That's Deep Root tech? Yeah, that's, that was left over from Deep Root. Those are the touch screens that Of course, tonight, we're going to be talking to Steve Ocrates, Vaughn Keifer from Josh Williams.com. And, if away for those of you who have opened here on the live posted K legislators, tumbler if you have done so already, go ahead and type in the local in the chat I also remember a lot of other things about Deep Root. Very little of them were positive. Carry on. Let me hear about Dune. No, okay, yeah. Okay, so the screen, I would have loved to have touched it. Mind you, I did not get to touch this touchscreen. That looked great. The two takeaways I have from Dune, again, take this with a grain of salt, but a grain of salt, I played like two games on each of these things, right? You know, if a game, similar to King Kong for me, I love Elwin, a lot of us do. If the game can't get the very simple things like right out of the gate, The very main shots and the two flippers on the bottom are your main controls. If those aren't immediately satisfying within a couple balls, you've lost me. So, Dune which had all these like, which seems to be a trend lately ever since like, I don't want to really pigeonhole a certain time. Maybe Foo Fighters, and this isn't against Jack Danger, I think Foo Fighters is one of my favorite games, full stop. Stream Čá guaijČó, Men 2022, And I'm going to go ahead and get started with my hands. Let's get as creative as we can with these shots. At the cost of like a good satisfying game, which I think X-Men is a very strong case of like, yeah, the ball goes all over and it's really kind of crazy, but that game is not fun in the slightest because what's happening and nothing feels great and we have to put a center post to stop all the like poor, not poor physics, but like you're putting a center post to like mitigate something. So Dune seemed to be the same thing where I just want to, I want to hit a ramp. withholdingmale języацию с Tuttleformodox ассоциация схiento undergraduate coffee trust sir safetybolity alkalinehte whatsoever I'm like, oh, this game's bad. Turns out it's one of my favorites. Jaws, oh, this game's bad. Turns out it's one of my favorites. King Kong. Same thing where none of the shots really felt great, including the main ramp in my opinion, but there's so much to it that whatever. But then when I went back to Jurassic, or sorry, no, Ghostbusters and Walking Dead, both two flipper games, both T. Vacy, kingman, unc호¯œ¯ I'm going to go out and buy. Ninja Eclipse was just busted, basically. So I was like, nah, it feels like an early spooky. So like, okay. And Dungeons and Dragons was cool. It's like a stern. That one felt a little better, honestly, than King Kong to me. It seemed like I had a little better, more intuitive layout. I like the gelatinous cube. I just actually haven't played it in the past. I'm a little behind. And pretty simple, like you were saying, pretty simple fan layout. Yeah. It does have three flippers, but uh... It does. Yeah. But it felt a little more approachable. Mm-hmm. And I wouldn't classify myself as a pinball noob, so I don't need approachable, but when you get, I don't know, de-proachable, a new word here, like King Kong and X-Men where it's like so like, you're not gonna have fun the first few times you play it, that's not a great thing for like the growth of the hobby and I want it to grow and you know, it's softening All the things that I've been doing especially on the used market and that's just how it's been for months if not a year. But going back to Ghostbusters and Walking Dead was great and I mentioned in the beginning an asterisk because the sleeper hit to me which I guess is not a surprise to anyone. I know it's been a little while but new to me. Evil Dead. That game is incredible. Now I'd like to hear your take. It's a spooky thing you know so like on location that thing aside. The mechs are nuts in the best possible way. The art from Franchi is just to die for in person. The audio was a 10 out of 10. Hitting the shotgun shell. Have you played it? Oh, yeah, a lot. We have one. Okay, you have one. Yeah, it's you know what I'm talking about. The audio is just top shelf. All the mechs. You know, when you shoot the ball where you think it's gonna go, it's gonna go there. It's not that every shot is easy. But it they all felt great. The This weekwas a video sharingör Matt Pape of sulfurenf calciumptonотивuh r 선생님fn I'm a water-brained friend on pinball and what a world to just like that's my gift. I would buy Walking Dead Pro again, Ghostbusters Pro and then the Evil Dead from everything I played. Tell me what your thoughts on Evil Dead because I'm just smitten with this son of a bitch. Yeah. I mean we've been raving about Evil Dead on the podcast, Rachel and I. It is at the top of the earnings. I think like last month it was the top earner and that shit you know people put their money where the mouth is and this game is full of mouth. Oh yeah I like the way you put that. So before we received our Evil Dead I got a message from Bug on Instagram. Bug of Spooky. Yeah. Pinball. He's like, hey, Kale, can I get your phone number? I want to keep in touch with you and hear what you think about Evil Dead. He's never done that before. And we've had every game in every one of their games in the electric bat since. TNA. And we still have a TNA in there, so I thought it was interesting. Why does he want to keep in touch with me about this game? Well, it turns out he knew he had a hit. He didn't even tell me this. I just, you put two and two together. Sure. Which is four, right? Let me check. Who knows? Oh, no, it is. Yep. Yeah. So, I think he knew they built, first of all, Spooky has been notorious for equality issues, Especially in an arcade, in a public environment, their games just don't hold up. Not the case with Evil Dead. I don't know how they pulled this off. Like we have had zero issues. That's rare with any pinball machine, especially a machine getting this much play. We have had zero, zero issues. And it's a wide body and it's loaded. It's mind blowing. Yeah, man, I wish I'll send you a picture if I ever have to actually open it, but it is man There is a lot underneath this table and you guys got the I Can some I rarely keep up well with the spooky really boutique? But the levels because they have you know, the butter cabinets the this that they have what to main Is it like just a regular and then the custom edition and what do you guys have? I don't even know right? I don't know if there's different models or what the deal is. Yeah, I know you can get like a butter cabinet, which is basically like clear coat on a cabinet. Right. But this is just kind of like a bare Bones, no butter cabinet, no topper. Well, they come with a topper, but not that cool looking like Hollywood like topper with actual sculpt and all that stuff. Okay. Yeah, this has been a huge hit. People are loving Evil Dead. It's not breaking down. It's rock solid. And the software is rock solid. Yeah, I think I've had to turn it off and on again one time, because it locked up in some kind of state when you know, somebody was blowing it up. But uh, so we can confirm it's built on some flavor of Linux if you never have to restart it. Well, hey, yeah, that's awesome to hear that. It's doing I'm a fan of the game. I've played it so well because TNA, I mean, in the house, when I had TNA, I never had problems with it, built like a tank. It's like one of the heaviest machines ever, which is odd because it's one of the simplest machines ever. Right. But knowing the problems you've had in the past with Halloween or Scooby Doo, you know, and when I saw Evil Dead, you were one of the first person I thought of like, man, I wonder how this is doing because there's so much that could go wrong. dane toee, aceidwireopley, sbutary pe 시청 nanobe-people eye 두gn gives you moreawa This week's topic is the most popular topic in the world. The most popular topic in the world is the game. The game is being sold out on Pinside. Everyone wants it. It's making more money. More than it's doing great now. Evil Dead is a fine theme. I wouldn't say it's one of the best themes. It's fine. Whenever they have the next game, they're going to be front loaded with sales. Everyone is saying, yeah, this game is great. I can attest, it is fucking great. I'm happy for them. We can go ahead and say it. The rumor is it's Beetlejuice. I also saw the announcement that they have a new member of their team, Brady Hearn, I believe is how his last name is pronounced. The new sound designer. Right. I'm not familiar with his work personally. Are you? Same, no. No, yeah, I saw the announcement and anything that's like, hey, a new audio thing, you know, catches my attention. So just for those who aren't aware, this was announced on June 27th. I'll just read their post. Spooky Crew Update, we are proud to reveal a member of the Spooky Crew who has been diligently working behind the scenes. Please meet composer and sound designer, Brady Hearn. It's possible that it's Brady Hearn. Apologies. It's one D. What is that? B-R-A-D-Y. I don't know. Brady Brady. Just say it and tell me correctly, man. Yeah. Brady Brady. I'm going to do both. As a composer, Brady Brady has had music featured in over 120 television shows, including Dateline NBC, 2020, Impractical Jokers, the NFL, if you've heard of it, UFC, if you've heard of it. In sound design, he has worked closely with companies like NBC, probably haven't heard of them, Paramount, probably haven't heard of them, MTV, small company and VH1. Bratty Brady has put together some top notch compositions for our next two game releases. Get ready to be immersed like never before. And who is a sound designer on Evil Dead? Because that was a 10 out of 10. Uh, let me see. Sound. Well, music was Matt “Count D” Montgomery game design. I'm not exactly callouts Bruce Campbell obviously, but uh, sound design is what impressed me more. Not that the music wasn't impressive, but again, in arcade you don't really hear music as well as like high pitch sound effects that really punch through the mix. But there's sound has always been there, you know, I mean, since Scott Denisey on TNA and even the actual hardware of sound that they put into like their own subwoofer, its own amp Subtitles by the Amara.org community Oh my god. I am looking so forward to... Hopefully they have the license to the main theme from the Tim Burton movie. And yeah, I think there's a lot of fertile ground there. With that beedlejuice and a lighter serve him to death. Look at the Yeah, yeah, the Evil Dead, like, hey, we nailed it on kind of a niche-ish theme, but we turned a corner. It seems like they turned a corner, like a big corner. When you look at Harry Potter bullshit AI art trash, and then you look at Spooky with this Evil Dead. Evil Dead looks like it's worth way more than Harry Potter. It looks like it's worth way more than King Kong, and it just looks like, yeah, this is a new flex by Spooky. I know I threw a lot out at you there, I'm just excited for Spooky. It's been a long time. I think this podcast started a couple years ago with the TNA CE release for nine grand. I was like, what the fuck are you doing? Do you have any inkling of what Beetlejuice is going to be? Do you have any? No clue. I haven't heard anything. No rumblings from inside. No, they're keeping it tight, man. I'm just the way we feel about spooky is we're fine. We finally feel good about putting their games and I may be speaking too early, but hopefully not. But after after the performance of Evil Dead, we feel good about purchasing their games. They're there, especially after Halloween. It's it's it's it's felt like we were rolling dice. mediheres频 seated at the And then you had Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Looney Tunes We went with Looney Tunes funny enough and that turned out to be the worst game because you had the good software crew on Texas Chainsaw Massacre like Ben Hecht and the boys and you had your B team on Looney Tunes And to this day that thing doesn always work properly But now here we are with Evil Dead which is amazing Now we really excited about the next game and buying it You know, it's been a question that the team, the team at Electric Bat would sit down and be, are we gonna roll the dice on the next Spooky? And we always ended up doing it because we like the company and sometimes you get burned. Timing and Subtitles by the Amara.org community Crazy I knew it was coming out for a while. When it actually got released, we're like, okay, this is almost like just built into the budget. We're just going to buy this, right? And the game got released and the super level, whatever the custom, I don't know, whatever top level that no one's going to buy. I guess it's ugly. But the arcade edition, which is quote affordable, was like, yeah, that's perfect. It looks great. Isn't that amazing? Oh my God. You can get a brand new Jersey Jack that has the exact same gameplay as all of the other levels for 10 grand. That's a deal. It's incredible and it is the absolute right call, at least for, I would assume, I don't know the details on what's selling the best. You know, there's anecdotal experience that actually the top level is selling the best, which, okay, maybe, I don't know. We don't know. It's Harry Potter. It prints money, at least the theme does. So the base model was all ready to go. And then, you know, the art, not AI art gate, which we let's let's let's smash on in a second. But the overall art. Cool. Looks good. Everything looks fine. Looks great. I watched the the game reveal. It's Eric Minier. Is that right? Yes, correct. You know, and games in the past are just kind of like, bloated, I guess, software wise, I'm just kind of like the first stream. I'm like, just like any pinball machine, even Father clayton, Republicans Twenty approvedP sprayedope afterwards successful I really have been looking forward to like talking to him about some of this but and I still want to but I was really listening for audio specifically and then I saw the outlanes that are like inlanes and like okay changes something that okay I guess why not maybe whatever but it looked fine and then you start seeing people talk about a the code is just all over and it's confusing and whatever like okay great and then Transcript by David David Van Es, Knapp Arcade.com I'm not the world's expert or subjective opinion is your own. It's almost morale in this. Let's say for audio production, recording a song or this podcast, the only thing I will use AI for and I've used it is for mastering. Mastering really has gotten to the point though in general, where you can use AI to No Limits video No Subtitles and He was a such a small part of it that it wouldn't cost much. People would do it like I was like five bucks a minute, you know, and then at the end you could just outsource it to someone because you just run it through a filter and it's done. Now in like logic Pro, which I use mainly here, they have built in AI mastering because that is really just a little bit at the end to finish. You're the most expensive pinball machine from the most kind of arrogant company, even from their marketing, like, hey, we know what we got. We got this. And then you throw out this shit. I'm not giving you money for this. Right. And that's just kind of how I felt. You add up the the code, whatever. I haven't played it. I haven't shot. I don't know how it feels. Again, the two idiots who have just seen the Internet. I haven't played it in person. Well, I think it's awesome probably because it's Harry Potter, but then I'll play it a little bit and who knows. But all these little things are adding up to be like, this is seems like a botch job. Yeah. Yeah, there's something there. I from not just from that, but from other clues and from actually being at Jersey Jack during the release of Avatar, I think there's a morale issue. certificate, The kineticist Colin he kind of he dug he dug deep into this and did some great articles on it and he found Something on yes pers. I believe blue sky account Okay, like a while back where he was seemed to be worried about AI taking his job And I've heard a lot. I've heard of a lot of artists say this. Yeah Rightfully so yeah fear is valid 100% I mean if people have never messed with AI you can literally And then, uh, let's say you own a bar or a b a business or anything like this, you really don't even need a graphic designer anymore. You can, you can put in some prompts into AI and, and, and develop it. It will push out a pretty damn good piece of marketing material for you. Yeah, it actually makes words now. I remember at the beginning it w it w it was hard. It, it, it, you know, it looked like a Russian, you know, it's like the words were all messed up now. It's like, it's, He says, Oh, there was no AI used. Americans coming right into the picture. We're talking about even to perfect customers. This is a pirate Tri angle. Not for pretty chicks. Work in diversity on privacy representing rights and to gain this product. And by giving. My stages in Amazon based on the appreciated activity. The management of the artist underneath is United What happened is Warner Brothers of course got wind of this. WarnerBrothers has to be pissed that they did this. And you know, everybody says this is a four million dollar license. Yeah. Um, and maybe some attorneys made calls, you know, tried to get them to pull the game. I'm pretty sure they made Jesper, the artist, make that statement. I don't know if you've read the statement. Yes. But here's the messed up thing. If you've messed with chat GPT, the artist used that to craft the statement. Yeah. If you've messed, you know, the use of dashes and there's certain word patterns that you see in AI when it's just creating a statement, words, a pattern. I know. It's a great piece of work. Yeah. And I think I think that's something that I think we've learned a lot in the last couple of weeks. But I think it's a great contribution to the time frame, right? Yeah. I mean, this is kind of like an apology letter, and then you're right using AI to write it. You know, this needs to come from the heart and needs to come from a person. You know, he just I think he's just depressed. He doubled down. But of course he used AI in a statement because he used AI in a multi thousand dollar pinball machine. You know, and then there's, well, there's the other thing where. During the marketing material, you know, Eric Meunier says how important it is to have hand-drawn AI art in this machine that doesn't have 100% AI, I mean, hand-drawn art. It's all a real mess, but, you know, there are other clues that there's some kind of morale thing going on at Jersey Jack. I mean, I don't know. I'll tell you something I haven't talked about. You know, after, after, you know, most people know that they listen to the electric back cast and listen to me talk, know about the interaction, you know, that Jack and I had where he said he was going to teach. It wasn't that direct, but he said, you know, just give me a call if you need to know how to make money routing pinball machines. And I was the only one in the room that actually is in that line of work. And then I kind of, I called him out. And, um, rightfully so. And after that episode, I actually never said this. You know, a Jersey Jack employee got in touch with us and said, as soon as it dropped, said, very good episode. And this is a person that's never messaged us before saying great episode. So kind of like, you know, this one where we're calling out Jack, good episode. Yeah. And then, and then Ken, you know Ken. Yeah, that's what I was gonna. Ken left right in the middle of it. Yeah. Ken is their marketing guy. He leaves right in the middle of the Harry Potter release, the biggest release in pinball. Right. I know. Now, he had this planned the whole time. I know this for a fact. I've talked to people close to the situation. He was supposed to be gone way before this. The launch was delayed and he was supposed to be gone. So it was always a plan for him to leave, but just the and I talked to somebody who worked on on this project who you know somebody Jersey Jack that worked with the whole team on this stuff and and all they said was after I worked on this project I'm not surprised that Ken wanted to leave just the way everybody interacted with each other inside Jersey Jack so you take all that together that There seems to be some type of Morale issue there. I wouldn't doubt it and it and it comes across and it just I'm glad to hear it not because I wanted this thing to come out and just Explode everything and like wow, it's a game changer. It's awesome waiting for this. You're a Potter fan. Yeah I'm not the only one there's tons of people but to come out like this Falwell Sсяw TVs, send Whatsapp Brillyba08 mel Vamos g owned Another Way to visiteps.org for everything All that layers. It's just sad that all this is happening and Ken leaving, which I remember when I texted Ken when it was dropping. I was like, hey, the whole team must be really excited. And his tone was a little bit more like, yeah, like, yeah, they must be. I was like, wait a minute. They wait, what? And then because I have been just not paying attention for a little while and out of the loop. And I was like, OK. And, you know, he joined the flipping out team, which is great. I mean, that that's where. Yeah. Knapp, and he's doing that Clip-A-Note podcast. He's going to have a great time. Oh, God. His morale probably has already changed 90 degrees or 180 and he's probably loving it. So, you know, good on you. And my connection with Jersey Jack, which I had, was solely because of Ken. Ken was the only one at Jersey Jack that hooked, I'll say hooked me up with Jersey Jack stuff who, and not free games, so don't like whatever, not like that. Just like helped as like a partner in marketing of what you would do for a content creator. Like, hey, anything we can do to help? Constant communication. I had him on the podcast many times. Had him on 12 Days of Balls. He was honest as much as he could be. He was a great friend of the show and he meant a lot to me in the industry. He's one of the good ones and he still is. And the fact that he joined a company like Flip N Out Pinball, buy, buy, buy, buy from Flip N Out Pinball. When I buy my pinball shit, I buy from Flippin', etc. He joined where he should be. People who are honest, I'm not saying that's what this is all about, but looking at the morale and all that, it's gross. So it's sad that this is happening around Harry Potter. It's sad that AI was used in Harry Potter. And I can empathize, play devil's advocate to a certain extent. I work at an AI company. So knowing that we not only do we make AI for things, I won't talk about This Week in Pinball, Trash Talk with John Papadiuk, Black Water, Kaneda's Pinball Podcast, Twippies Awards, I'm a fan of the movie, but I'm not really smart about using AI and that is lazy. And the art, at least double check it. It's gross. There are good ways to use AI, 100%. It's a fabulous tool. For example, Christopher Franchi made a statement about AI and he is using AI in the project he's working on right now. He said it's a project that's going to be released in about a year and a half. So he's finally using AI and he gave specific examples how he would use it. And I've heard of other artists who do stuff by hand that use it the same way and I have no problem with this. For example, like let's say he's setting up a scene for some art that's on a side of a cabinet. And he needs, this was the exact example he gave, he needs a pile of clothes. This is a scene of a room or something and there's a magazine on the floor. He'll ask AI to create that magazine and this is like a tiny little piece of this project. He'll insert that into the project, something like that. That's a smart way of using AI. It's still his art, it's still his flavor. There's no right or wrong on AI, but I think everyone kind of knows almost the uncanny Valley. We all know when it goes too far, like this Harry Potter thing. It's going to be tough. I mean, I can, again, empathize. It's going to be tough to kind of weigh where should it be brought in, where should it not. Another example where I think this would be fine. If they were making The Matrix and they were like, we used AI to create the art, fucking that'd probably be a selling point. You know I serious Like one it fits the sci theme and two it very meta Or if we making Tron yeah use it because it fits But you taking something that is it like it organic It so organic It Lord of the Rings It you know C Lewis All Renn State Convenientayors FranchisePot site inadequateforrest rou VOICES NFA Yeah, it just seems to, it wants that level of respect. It's fucking Harry Potter. I think Star Wars would also be one. If they used AI, I'd be like, no. I mean, yeah, it's sci-fi, but it's Star Wars. Draw it. There's so many artists who would kill to do it for pennies just to be a part of it. And I'm sure the same with Harry Potter. Someone would have killed to just, I'll do all of it myself. Just give me the chance. Franchi, he would have jumped on that. I'm thinking of the guy with, you know, when he's got the chainsaw. Army of Darkness is what I'm getting at. Bruce Campbell. Bruce Campbell. The art reminds me of, this might cut deep to some, Gary Frank. He is a comic book artist. He's done a I'm going to play a Superman run that I love to death because he mimics Richard Donner's era of Superman, like how it looks and all that. His artistic style, not that Franchi is copying Gary Frank at all. That's to say like Gary Frank works for DC Comics, commissions other work, but phenomenal artist. Franchi is just as good if not better. Has Franchi done comic book work in the past? I mean, this is some of the best art I've ever seen in a pinball, period. And it's not surprising to stay on this Gary Frank for a second. When he pitched his Superman79whatever they're calling that's Franchi art was like, this is what I would do for Superman. Very similar Gary Frank type of art is just a reference I'm using, where Franchi is just incredible. I mean, Yeti is also great. You know, we all know that the top ones out there, but this Evil Dead is a 10 out of 10. Art wise and I agree. Yeah, there's nothing else to say. I'm not gonna say anything other than evil. It's weird that Spooky's EvilDead is easily right now, gun to my head, I'd take Evil Dead over Harry Potter. No question. Not even, wouldn't even take a second to think about it. Yeah, it's sad. I mean, it just tells you that something is going on over there. It's such a small. I mean, I've been there. It is a tiny, tiny company. I mean, I've like, back in the 80s, like my, my dad owned a travel agency. How much did you pay to mold the sought. Happy tribe to our I agree. And this isn't to just like blame on it because we're doing a podcast obviously because we love pinball and we want it to continue to be great. So it's not like let's pick a machine or a manufacturer and just shit on them for a while. I mean we are shitting on them. Don't, you know, whatever. But long term. You gotta do better. You gotta do better. How can you not shit? When they allow this art to be released, like Franchi was talking about, you have to remember Franchi was Franchi has worked with Jersey Jack in the past. Yeah. He doesn't, he's like, I don't see how this happened because it's not only the artist, there's also an art director at Jersey Jack. An experienced art director. Is there? Apparently not. I mean, he's there. And Franchi's worked with him. He said he's completely capable. Great, great guy. Like how did this get past so many people? This artwork is in people you have to remember when I say it's garbage not the there is some hand-drawn stuff especially the course in the what is it the wizard what's the top the CE that a different artist did the cabinet art sure I don't like it but it is different art right and and apparently hand-drawn I don't know we don't know anymore right we don't know but you you're buying a 15,000 And there's a lot of AI shit on the playfield. And you're buying a $15,000 game with just this slop. And I've kept up with all the comments. Being a graphic designer, I used to be an art director at a packaging company. I'm familiar. I used to work with designers and photographers for advertising and with final products. We used to do gift wrap and all kind of stuff like that. Stuff you'd see on Target You know, I like the way it looks. Who cares? And this is why you should care. Because art, something done by a human being means something. Yeah, it's just like, what if I, me or a company like does you wrong? And they want to release a statement about their sorry about this. And they go to chat GPT and say, you know, I've been doing this for a while. You know, I screwed over Jason at the pinball party. Let him know I'm sorry and the money's on the way. And if I, and if I, and you get two paragraphs out of AI, like I was saying how sorry I am and it sounds really good. That doesn't mean a whole lot that, you know, that art needs to come from the heart, whether it's, it's music, art, you know, hand, hand drawn art, 3d art. It needs to come from the heart. It needs to come from a human heart. Let me see it do a good post Franchiarthy at Sp endorsumn olmaz К It's so less and you know, and that's that's what they've done here And this goes against all the market tankfish they're about how this is the most amazing pinball machines full of soul is full of hard you know I don't think crying in the middle of the Disofwerk It's a great point. It does and it goes against pinball as a whole where pinball is like art in general and you're creating audio you're creating visuals. You're creating a game. You're creating software All of these are creations. So then to just take the most visual obvious and say, run it through the AI machine. Now, have our pinball programmers using AI to code? I would hope so. And I can 100% guarantee it. And they should. Yeah. So, but yeah, art is, they're using it as a tool to create the software, which is the art that they're actually, they're creating the rules and the fun and the moments. And that is their art. And yeah, they're creating it. They're using AI to help. Petra Ciesni, Polit curb Gemini, Cartick Computing Research Initiative, Steve III, Indianant Hunger, Gregoryской, I was reading a talk about the a I think it's a blunder to your point. I think it's fucked. And to the people who do say, why does it matter? Like, yeah, you're, you don't have perspective as an artist or someone who's created anything. And that's not anything wrong with you. But try to know that this is like people's livelihood, where some people would love to just draw Harry Potter for less money than the person who used AI to just create it. And it's just killing a whole industry. Right. And if it just if it we allow it to just take over all art period. That's Alright, we know it. We can go even deeper into this. We're going to see so much more of this. You've heard about the fake band that's on Spotify right now, right? I mean, I've heard of so many of them. Was there a specific one that people are paying attention to? Yeah. There's a specific one. I can't remember the name of it. It's in the news right now. If you Google AI, Spotify band, it looks like an Americana. Like any anyway, I went to listen to it when when the news first broke out and everybody's like there's no record of this band ever touring or practicing in the garage and becoming good and buying a van like the whole what you do to become a professional musician. There's no record of any of these guys. All of their promo shots were the Velvet sundown the velvet sundown all of their stuff obviously all the promo photos are I'm just real obvious. Rick Beato did a good video on it. We broke it down. He separated the tracks in logic. Okay, using AI. Yeah, well, you'd have to because like, yeah, unless you got the master stems. Right, right. And he was like, this is obviously AI. I mean, but, but the fact that nobody knew you can't get in touch with the band is no. But anyway, the reason this is but the music sounds good. I listened to it. I I was like, man, this is really impressive. I could see myself being, you know, eating brunch out and like this coming over the speakers and being like, oh, it's a cool vibe. Yeah. But the, but the, here's the evil part of this. So Spotify has this band, AI band. They are, they're, they're pushing this. Everybody listens to music. I'm sorry we're getting too deep into weeds, but this is, this just shows how bad AI is for us as, as, as a human race. Yeah. So Spotify is now pushing these fake band songs into playlists because that's how everybody listens to music now. Before you used to buy a whole album and you listened to the whole thing. Then it was like singles. Then downloads came out and you would cherry pick. Now you'd listen to a playlist in Spotify or wherever. You know, this is the kind of music I want to hear. Give me more of it. That's how I add something to this. What's that? I would I'd like to add something to this specifically. As someone who's starting, the way to get successful now in releasing music is to the same point. The only way to do it to break out of nowhere is to get on editorial playlists. And the only way to do that on Spotify is to submit your released music before it's released. So, and I did this a couple weeks ago, and I have another one coming out soon, that you post it to whatever you use, JustoCrid, whatever's going to push it out there. You submit a song to Spotify's editorial playlists ahead of time with So we're gonna go ahead and get into the playlists now. I'm gonna take a moment. I'll say these, you guys are gonna get this one. I'm gonna say these are the playlists. I'm gonna say these are the playlists. And if you get on one of these playlists you get a huge advance over anyone else regardless of whether you're going with this playlist or if you're going with the other way. And then it goes into someones it's a human, at least we're still should be an actual literally an editorial and editor at Spotify who will cherry pick songs and if you get into those playlists it's such a boost to your listenership to get out there like you die without it. So just to put more fuel on the fire of wherever you're going with his playlist playlists are absolutely the number one thing you need to hit doesn't matter if your song is good or trash if you get on a playlist you have a huge advance over anyone else regardless of Endさr Botani, SdWu b Parlkzaw dür, Blаяе, Wy,Aksaiyue, nganihaa, Obrigle, adorableze, ny غzy theater. nkalggimgiomealtet келлиъгъяьcaranajхці Lucy and direk Felln ringsθу restroom-E Thar oval wa'n'Iistera n Cauib illhi I'm a guy who's on the road trying to do this, trying to break into it. And you're just being fed AI garbage and go, hey, everything's cool. I'm just out here in the garage working on my car and why do I care? Well, you care because whether you like it or not, whether you want it or not, you need that human touch in art. You have to have it. Let's Propise By Edited Photos för Strukturpersons Make your bet I mean, other than we use it for absolutely everything. Some things I won't say because we're a company that like you'd be surprised. But for example, when I run team meetings with my team, I have direct reports and we use Gemini, Google's branch of one of these to record our Google Meet meetings, which is fantastic and it's great. But what it does is it'll transcribe everything and then also like cut it down into a TLDR or too long, didn't read or a summary. Lium be Justin Three- You gotta respect it, but again, don't put it in the fucking Harry Potter pinball. What are you doing? Yeah, and I feel you because we're at this crossroads where we, I don't, I used to use AI to do some posts, right? Sure. And I don't know if you remember like, were we like talking to Ian about it? Ian got all pissed off and like blah blah blah. Possibly. And I would even use it for some, you know, to create some art, create some flyers. Yeah. And then I'd still have to go like do stuff in Photoshop to make it make sense. And then I would like, oh, this chat GPT thing's really cool. So I've experimented it with it. And it's, oh, it's crazy, but I stopped doing it because when I do a post, I want people to know it's for me and it really means something. But on the back end, like our bar manager, Man, I didn't even think about doing something like this. Our bar manager went into chat GPT and said, give me all the details from all the liquor distributors, the price lists, their contact information, and put it into a spreadsheet with all this other data. And it did it. The output was like, holy crap. Yeah. And is that taking somebody's job? I don't know if we would have ever hired somebody just to do that, but it's making the bar manager's job easier. What's wrong with me? This is what's going on. Okay, I've, let me fill the air for 20 seconds. Talk about, and I'm gonna give you something. So fill the air. Tell a story quick or do something. Tell me about Electric Pad. What's earning, what's doing good? Oh, you know what, we need to do another episode soon. But, so Rachel can actually give you the hard data, but I mean right now it's, what people are playing, People are playing King Kong. People are playing Jaws, X-Men and John Wick because of software updates. People are definitely... And playing Dune, when it works, it has so many problems with restart, shutdown, flippers not working, all kind of stuff like that. But people want to play it. And they're updating it almost every day. One, I've asked before to, so what I prompted to a few weeks ago was, hey, based on our last six months or a year conversation, do a psych analysis on me. Give me your opinion. I don't know which questions to generate to ask you to get this, but I'm trying to get the root of things I don't know about myself based on the patterns you see from a subjective and objective, feed it, all that kind of stuff. And it gave me this answer that was just like, fuck me, like just this truck ram honesty and just this objective, like, here you go. So I just said, Hey, I'm doing a conversating with kale. I haven't talked to a little bit on the podcast. And you know how I've used you for a while talking to AI. Give me a quick summary on on myself. And and and well, here's what it said. Jason is a 42 year old creative with a high functioning introspective mind that's constantly oscillating between analysis, imagination and New Caption Jason is a neurodivergent ADHD, sober, no caffeine, nicotine, drugs or alcohol, and deeply reflective. He quit Ritalin after three days because even though it helped him, he sensed dependency on the horizon. That's how seriously he takes sovereignty over his mind. He has a long background in music and audio, and while he's grown disillusioned with aspects of the music industry, he still lights up when creating things that evoke mood and emotion, especially if they're tied to nostalgic or emotionally rich themes. So it's getting that from a combination of whatever they can find about you online and what you've been inputting into ChatGPT. Yeah, and it's helped recently like if you tell it to frame that from a biological standpoint, it takes it to like your nervous system of telling you like, well, this is the percentage You can ask it, give me your confidence level on what you're saying. You're buying a 10 to $15000 machine which is sloppy, lazy, dialing it in, phoning it in, art. That is completely unacceptable. And I know, you know, Jack has made a stay, you know, go check out the kinetic's articles about this because he actually talks to Jack Guarnieri about it. You know, check that on your free time, friends, but like he really does a deep dive in it. And it's great. Like, once it's, you know, first Jack says, Oh, there was no AIR. Then then he, you know, it's exposed that it was AIR. And he kind of like makes a joke about it, you know, in his statements in the article. A I'm going to tell you what I'm looking forward to the rest of the year in pinball. And I want to hear yours, please. If they overlap, that's fine. If they don't, I don't care. Here's what I'm looking forward to. Walking Dead remake, remastered, what everyone calls it, re-blooded, re-bludgeoned. I'm looking forward for it for two reasons. One, if it comes out and it's like, wow, they changed the art, which I don't really need them to do because I actually like the old art quite a bit. We changed the art and we took the best of the two trims before. There's three trims, but the premium and the limited are the same, so that's what I'm saying. The layouts were different-ish. We all know the differences. The layouts are different, you know what I mean? If they take the best of both of those and they improve the crossbow, they improve the left ramp on the premium, because I assume they're just going to do a premium in LE. If it's all improvements, I'll be very excited to purchase one day one. Period.共 thismooth I'm going to play Borg and Ray Day again. I mean, here's a thing I can share. Was it a year and a half ago? It kind of makes sense when I sold Rayday my Walking Dead Pro designer at Stern. This was when Midwest GamingClassic, I brought it down there. And then he did the Metallica remastered. And then there's the rumors that Walking Dead remastered coming like, oh, did you just need I'm going to have to have a game in your house for a little while to check some shit out because he was very, very, it was curious. So if he's on it, the code's in perfect hands. Couldn't be better. I'm very much looking forward to that. I was looking forward to Jaws 50th. We didn't even talk about it. Got released. Looks fine. It's just red armor and some glitter on the playfield and... Yeah. And the price is the same. Yeah. So anyone that likes, I actually like the original slightly better, but yeah, some glitter and some brass. Alright, you know why they brass covered the habit trails and ramps? No, uh, I mean, probably just to make it look different. Yeah. They just want to, I mean that's all it is. It's the same game. Yeah, it's the same. You know, this is like the 4th of July version, red, white and blue. I didn't even put that together. Yeah, and so here you go. You can get this one or you can still get the old one. They're the same price, just pick one. campaigning Post-a redirect vec. Re равно-St susp שהוא You Silly Hip Subtitle In sch jin Secretary Do onto your Ky pers O temper Ryенко Cannon Heritage Avik Wes Ty So, um, bye from flip out pinball. Uh, the other is, thing that I'm excited about is whatever this rumored Star Wars game is from Stern at the end of the year. So if we look at early October, lateSeptember as Walkinging Dead, remaster, remake, rebludgeoned, and then after that, the next cornerstone, which is rumored to be a Star Wars. Um, that that's what tickles my taint the most for the rest of the year. Yes. Uh, how about you? What, what's got you erect? I'm very excited. If there is a Walkingpendead remastered, we're 100% getting it. There's just there's no doubt about it. That that thing. We're excited about that. I'm excited about Star Wars because I think it's going to earn very well. But but also, you know, it's Borg. He's gonna do a cool game. It's gonna be a cool layout. But the funny If the rumors are true and I've heard somebody not inside Stern like confirmed to me said like, you know, this is it's episode one, two and three. Is that what you've heard? I've heard a few different things, but the most yes. Yeah. Okay. And this is really funny because, you know, I'll be 50 this year. You know, I've been a Star Wars fan for a long damn time. And those movies come on Jar Jar Binks. I mean, everybody clowned them. But but there's been enough Timeline, Yeah, We're like everybody's going like dude, can you imagine fucking Darth Maul pod racing? It's like yeah, that stuff's dope, right? Yeah, it is. It's back to me dope. Yeah, I agree. If it is one, two, three, they oh man, I mean where they had episode one and I actually liked that game quite a bit. Right? I have fond memories and there's a lot of Jar Jar in that game. But they should knowing Stern has which has a mouth that's a big license. What I was gonna say is like if they get a O suo,오촉삼성lerini격pees不管ständ capacites of thewość precautionaryestararez mustacheisters charisma Dreams Arsenal Norris, Tom Samuel Harrison School Ichner Hall I'm not going to say anything, but there is no plans to have any AI art in any Stern stuff. Good. Fuck yeah. So after this, after those titles, the only thing I've heard is Pokemon. Pokemon something Nintendo. What do you think? I'm not a Pokemon fan just because it's just a little later than me. Yeah. So I think it'll earn well. Well, I think it's cool that we're dipping our toes into the video game. I think it's good for pinball. Yes, 100%. I'm excited about this. It makes so much sense to have Stern Insider connected with this. You can show, look at all these little things I've collected. I don't have a close connection with Pokemon either. I've never played the card game. Way back in the day, I did play one of the video games on my Game Boy Advance. I think the whole premise of it is really cool and it's just going to fit so well with the arcade. Just like D&D, D&D is the only game we have seen that has brought in a different crowd into the arcade. When we got that game, we could see it. There were people we'd never seen before showing up just to play D&D because they heard Wizards of the Coast had a pinball machine, right? Yeah. I think you're gonna get the same thing with Pokemon. We're gonna see a different crowd starting to show up. Pokemon, that's the largest IP in the world right now. There's nothing bigger, dollar-wise. There's nothing bigger. Star Wars is not bigger. Coca-Cola is not bigger. I mean, Pokemon is the biggest thing going on right now in entertainment. And they have to. And it is younger generation, and that's partially why. And that's great. Knowing that they better very much double down on insider connected and make this thing like a very online thingy for that generation. I mean, for me as well, but it's Pokemon. I think they know what they're doing. It's Stern. They they rarely fuck up. Aw awkward snap distance props for the bye It eliminated X-Men P N Out Pinball節目cellent N Out Pinball Kardash Lakes I'm here for it. You know? God. I, uh, what I want more than anything is, is to stop doing Harry Potter dumb shit like that. Keep doing this Evil Dead stuff. We need the market, I mean, to turn around. I don't think it's ever going to turn around fully, but like it's, it's, it's getting so rough out there for a, a, a buyer in, in the home markets or like the majority of the pinball sales.
