Morning, Jim. Good morning. Yeah, I got some rest. Good morning, everybody. Hey, everyone. What's going on? Yeah, we're joining in on the very first game of the Novice Firebreakers right now. You can see Saul Ayoub, right? Saul, Saul, Saul. The hometown favorite. They are playing for four players, playing for two final spots, I believe. Is it two or one? I don't remember. It's two, I believe. I'm going to put the standings. Well, no, I can't look at the standings because I don't have any of them. But I believe it's four players put two spots. So it looks like Saul, Priyanka, I think Kevin, Nickel, and Craig. And Craig is another local. So the random game that they are to play is, of course, drop a card. randomly chosen by tournament director Josh Sharpe, and everyone was extremely stoked that this is what got drawn. I'm real excited to play this for a play-in pile. You know, there could be a worse two-inch clipper game here, to be honest. This is easily one of the more controllable, one of my favorite two-inch clipper games. Without question. I need to lit up the board here. He's got it. Two. Oh, I can't. That was three. You got three. Three strokes for a five. So that's excellent on Drop the Card. It's a game that has two-inch blippers and wide open out range. So these finals are, we're doing Papa-style grooves. But it's pinball. But it's pinball scoring. So this is going to be really interesting. Yeah, it is. Because the way it works is whoever has the lowest, two people from each group, whoever has the lowest number of strokes will advance. With that being said, seed is important for the top seed because they get to pick each game. However, you're not really playing against each other. You're still going for score. Right. You know, you're not going for the highest score, you're just trying to have the lowest number of strokes. So it's a weird dynamic of game or position. Game. Game of Thrones. Oh, color me shocked. Call of the Angel of the Pyx, Game of Thrones. You had two aces on it. I had two aces on it, yeah. Two aces on Game of Thrones, which was the 10 factory yesterday. Let me, uh... He's going to use his paper sheets. I'm going to be transcribing onto my tablet, I guess, all day long. Oh, boy. That'll be fun. Because I know Justin's used paper. So, uh, Craig is up now. I'll be right back. Sure, take your time. Oh, didn't he tilt? he tilted so Craig that's it that's 10 we have 292 points so that'll be a 10 for Craig's tilt end game on the older Gottlieb wedge heads It helps for itself. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. No, it doesn't. Because I'm not showing it anywhere else in here. I don't want to talk with you. So, Carl D'Python Anghelo talking to himself a little bit. Good morning, everyone. This is Brian Dye again. Day, what feels like day 32 of broadcasting. So Kevin Nichols stepping up. Target score here is 2,500. The two people with the lowest score in terms of strokes will advance to the novice final. And you probably... First, second, third, or fourth on that. Fourth. And I'm starting out on Batman. Oh, my lanta. I drew Belthito and Massenkoff. I know. You got a nice group there. Oh, my. All right. Screen. Yeah, man. Two. Projector. Screen two. Screen two. I need to fix a couple things while I'm here. So how's everyone doing this morning? It's going to be a little sporadic at first. I don't have anyone yet scheduled here on the mic for the first round. Hopefully we'll get someone in here soon. But both Brian and I are playing in this first round in the quarterfinals. All right, so this looks like a Kevin Nickel. One drop of card. Fighting for his... What? Interviewing a novice. Oh, nothing. I'm saying I have no one on the mic for quarterfinals yet. Me? No one I asked was interested. Yeah, so you're going to come back for it. I'll be here, I'm sure. Yeah, me too. Just kidding. I'm going to play my brains out this time. So I think Josh is offering an extra bonus for anyone that aces every game throughout finals. So if you get three ones in four groups, Josh is going to take you to In-N-Out Burger. Ooh, In-N-Out Burger. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner with all football players in one second. All right, I'm going to go get these groups in. All righty. So Kevin looks like he took a six. So Priyanka is going to need a five, because she's going to have to at least get the target score. Sal took a three. Craig tilted with only 200 and some points, so he took a ten, and now Kevin has a six. So Priyanka's going to have to hit the target score in five balls, or they'll have another playoff. So she'll need anywhere between 2,000 and 2,500 points to keep her tournament life alive, and she didn't short plunge there or get it over to the skill shot. That 100 in lane is pretty valuable. Oh, that was a nice chill, a nice little bounce over. And again, she chooses, well I'm not sure that she's choosing, but she didn't get that right in lane. Making good progress on the targets though. wants to be a little bit more careful with the slaps. So there are some heavy, heavy, heavy-handed groups this morning. This top 16 is no joke. Gene Axelong over here checking out the broadcast booth. Congratulations Gene on making it in. Thank you, I'm pretty excited. As you should be. What are you on first? Batman. I'm on Metallica, so let's see how this goes. So Priyanka needs 1600 points here in order to advance to the novice finals. There she goes. Good plunge. That's a good start. Oh, that was a nice bounce out of there. And that's it. So it will be Sal and Kevin advancing to the novice Penn Golf finalists. And they are getting all these other groups started, so I'm going to have to step out here. It will be silent. we don't have anybody broadcasting for the quarterfinals. We will reassess how things are going, and we'll check in later. What game are you watching? What do you want to watch? Let's switch over to something else. I'm going to pick with Alika. Thank you. Go up now. Thank you. Thank you. Wow! So how's everyone doing? Like I said, we don't have any commentators for this quarter. No one was interested in doing it, but we're going to broadcast it anyways. Try and follow Eric, Bob, Gene, and Joe through the quarter finals as best we can. This is a top of stock time, so we have a four player group based on the standard seedings, 1, 8, 9, 16 and so on. The scoring is going to be 10 golf scoring. So you can get up to, same as during qualifying, 1 through 10 strokes per game. Lowest two scores from each group. Move on to the next round. I almost have the goal of 20 million. Al-Anon this is a Panasonic Z250 camera. It's hooked into an Elgato HD60 Pro capture card. the Moto HD 60 Pro capture card. The capture card does a lot of the work. I've got the Avermedia Game Broadcaster HD and the other cameras, but this capture card really seems to make a little bit of a difference. It'll do 1080p 60 frames. And these cameras, you can do 60... Oh, I'm up. Excuse me. I'll continue that later. Thank you. I'm kicking myself, I had one drop left to like Lord of Light and I had the ball I was getting the rhythm of Orbit, Wall, Cat, Orbit, Wall, Cat, Wall, Cat. I'm like, can I just take a hot shot out of that? I like my Lord of Light. And I'm like, nah, I'm doing good. Sometimes you have something that it streams out of the right side and you can't really get it. And of course, we found the Lord of Light. Thank you. But really fast fast, many fast spots The Bob, I see a one-off. Nice one-off. Come on. Oh, my God. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh I know, because then you've got to get them all back. Oh, man. Alright, quick update on the... So here's the groups and some people have a... Well, I'm listening to something. Let me do that. Let's see if there's some scores here. Is there a commentary? Go back to the commentary. Kind of. Well, no, because I am just... It's right here. Metallica, all right. Just joining here, so I don't know the status yet. So it looks like player two. either got a hole in two maybe a hole in one we shall see but up now is Gene looks like he guessing by his 10 million he probably already played a sparky which rough rough during there Alright, player four is Joe. I think he's going to let that settle just for a little bit. And I'm guessing he has also played his first Sparky because he's at 13 million. the finals information should be posted on the same site where the qualifying was so neverdreams.com slash ifpa vegas slash bracket Alright, let's see what Joe does here. He does have an extra ball lit. Now if he were to soft plunge... Oh, never mind. If he gets 2x scoring going and collects that extra ball, he is set. Because that's 5 million right there. Let's see what he decides to do. Alright, he decides to do. Alright, let's see if he gets 500,000 mystery. This is where you actually want that 500,000 or 1 million. Let's see what he gets. Ugh, plus two bonus eggs. That's not really helpful. Yeah. Alright, let's see if uh, uh oh that's dangerous. Nice. Nudge. Nudge. All the side to side on this game is killer. Alright, take a breather. Alright, now the question is, does he go for... Oh, interesting. Now, if I were him at two million, I would just go for an end of line. Pass it over, right ramp, end of line. Let's see what he does. No, he's going... It looks like he's going for grave. I don't know if I agree with that. I mean, I know it adds to your bonus X, but I don't think it's going to... I don't think bonus is going to get him to 2 million that quickly. Oh, I think he's switching. I think he realized he was making a poor decision. And sorry if I'm talking softly to make sure he doesn't hear me. He was kind of going for grave marker, which all he really should do is do a right ramp. Although he could do... Actually, if he hits a grave marker one more time, he'll light a cough and hurry up, which actually might not be bad either. There's nothing worse than trying to get that last two million. If you're not finding it. Or, you know what, or he's just spinner and jets. Because he will light mister again if he does it again. Actually, you know what, kind of a safe strategy. All right, let's see. This is what makes chasing down a score so hard. It's so... There's nothing worse than chasing, like, 2 million on any game. I don't care what game it is. Has he checked his bonus? He has not. He has not checked his bonus yet, but I am guessing if he gets that 500,000... 500,000? 500,000? Oh! Now I would... Oh! It's not getting... The bonus isn't that huge. I would start to like scoring. and just hit anything. Let's see. No? Not checking? All right. He's playing fade to black without it being fade to black. Wow. I would have started 2x scoring because anything that he shoots is just going to be worth 2x. Including the 2x shot. Including the 2x shot. Let's see. Oh, the wheels are ticking. Let's see what he does. Oh, whoa. There we go. That's going to be it. Yep. Look at that. Nicely done. Probably the most intense two million on Metallica he'll ever play. And I think that's a three. Yep. That was a three for Joe there. All right. So I'm guessing by Eric's score, he's had the unfortunate sparky dreams. Uh oh, Carl does not look happy in the background. Oh, but I think he got it. Alright. What's up? Can't check the bonus, man. You get it? Do I just do a better source and save? Yep. You get it? Yeah, exactly. Oh, nice. Oh! Rough. Alright. Now it's time to see what Gene does. He is in that gray area of 10 million away. Not much anything lit, but he does have an extra ball. Now what I would do is do a short plunge catch, shoot the piston, that will light to our scoring. Do an end of line combo. million extra gold? Yep. Now it's rough though because he's nowhere close to getting his fuel lit. I don't think I would chew it four times. You know what though? You know what though? Look, he's almost at fuel fuel, not just to a storm. That actually might be... I know it's dangerous because he's four shots, but... Oh, it didn't register. Oh, I'm going Oh no, nope, he could not nudge that post. Ugh, this is weird. Okay, 12, good, I've gone from 11 to 12. It's like, do you just go Sparky your boss right now? And just get it and Sparky? With that much progress on Sparky? I know. Or if he can hit that last, if he can hit one drop target he'll start a coffin. Oh. He could have started at a hurry up. Those coffin, I mean those seek and destroy or whatever are hurry ups, stay out of, stay out of. Woo! Intense finals action here folks. finals action here, folks. It's new territory for everyone playing golf scoring. Yeah. It's kind of a mind-blowing experience because you're not really playing against anyone else. It's crazy. All right, Eric. You're always one multiball away from being done with this game. How you doing on Demoman? What? How you doing on Demoman? Oh, oh, oh. Tight. Alright, he's got two X's going. He's got two picks left. That's alright. He'll get that back. Wow, he did not get that other one back. I thought he was going to get that other one back. Nice. Two picks to go. Two picks. And he could actually get a 4X extra ball and be done. Oh, yeah. That's the stuff right there. Oh, don't. Oh. Even though it's good points, He just wasted an opportunity to add some extra ball love in there. It's alright. Now if he can just get his head of ball off. Don't rush it. There's nothing worse than trying to rush it. He does have two hurry ups. He does have two hurry ups. It's so weird. The flippers come up so high you think you can backhand those drops easy. You can't. Oh, Andy started to hurry up. Thank you. It was a little rough on the first day. I dialed it back just a hair. Oh, two. This is big. I would start two-x scoring first. Yeah, he hit the ball straight on the right. You hit that start two-x scoring. Hit the ball. Four million shot. Done. Oh, he's only at 13? Yeah. See, that should have been $5 million if he did that. They're going to wait. They get fifth pick of the next round. Yep, look at that. Are they done? Yeah. Yeah, if it makes him feel, well, I don't know if it will make him feel better or worse, but if he started 2X scoring, he'd be at 19 and a half. Actually, no, he would have gotten that because you get whatever, $500,000 for the piston shot. So, I understand if he had the ball curled on the left I would have taken a shot at the captain ball, but with the ball curled on the right and Tua scoring, staring you in the face, start it first, then captain ball. But you know what, easier said than done when you're sitting behind the booth. Gene gets half way to what he needs. And he is close to Sparky, yup. He's got probably two more hits left. Oh, got a little swirly there. Oh, one more. All right, let's hit, good speed, good speed, come on. Uh-oh, he's getting a little, all right, there we go. He needs to settle down a little bit. Rushing it. Yeah Steve, three games per round. Get the monkey flip his way there. Yep. This is where you actually shoot for jackpots. Got it. Got it, Gene. And Gene's got it. All right. That will be a five? Yep. So, Eric with a six. Gene with a five. What did Joe have? I think a three. Just... What did Joe have, a three? Joe had three. Yeah. I assume Joe has three. Eric has six. And he had five. What is it? You're up. Oh, come. Nice. Come. Three, three, three, three. The clowns have unballed five. I think Carl had a three. three so you're the three on game right? do you wanna switch cameras to Game of Thrones? you can save it, you can save it mid-prog oh nice, ok that is the turn Batman still going? oh Batman's down No. I'm right there. I'm going to go do gate next. You want to do that right? All right. Let's do this. Yes, the two lowest scores. Move on to the next round. For who? No, not like that. I need the sheet. The order is on the table. Josh, get Johnny's sheet. What'd you pick? Batman. Oh, yeah. I like my bus driver. Alright. Let me coin up the order. You were third? I'm fourth. What's the order? Third? You first, Teresa second, Louise third, Zach fourth. Alright. There's a Batman suit. Or the, yeah, the last. Alright. Alright, we're going to switch the camera here and just load. Here's the current standings, minus Luis's name for some reason isn't showing up, but there's the standings after the first round. Come on, not points, strokes. You know, I thought I had it too. I have strokes on this. If you go to here, I've got strokes on this. That's funny. Yeah, I'll switch it once I get it done. You know what matters? It matters. Okay, sorry. What game? We don't want to... I want to stay with the same group across the board. They? Oh, Bob's group? Yeah. Let's see what they picked. I think this will go faster than regular finals. Oh, absolutely. Because you don't have to worry... like, the better people play, the quicker it goes. It was just that tiebreakers are the only wild cards, but... But, yeah. But still, again, it's not like, oh, wow, I wouldn't put up a $5 billion on giving her a card. I ain't playing Demo-Anim. I don't know. Bob's walking over to drop a card. Joe, you're on Fishtails? Is that what you were on Metallica, right? You're on that? Fishtails. Okay. Looked like he was walking down that way. Yeah. I don't know what I'm going to do. I need them all input in the computer whenever it's just a That's right. 6, 7, 2... How's it going? What did you play? I actually had 4 strokes. I can do that for now. That's good. The order is probably going to be... You already fixed it to strokes that quickly? No, no, no. I had this one strokes all the time. It's the other thing that helps. Oh got it got it All right I coined it yep all you All right, got some fishtails here. Let's see. It looks like Bob was going for video mode. Or is he going... Alright, no, he's back to going for... He... just settle down, Bob. Settle down. Alright. I will say, after playing this the last couple days, the left flipper The left flipper to the right ramp or whatever you want to call it is a little weird. You almost have to aim for the captive ball to successfully hit. At least in my head, that's what I shoot for. From the left flipper, I shoot the captive ball. Four million. Four million. And out the right side? No. That feed has been killing people all weekend. Wow Bob, come on. Give it a little too much body English on that. Settle down, settle on. Alright, now player two, I'm guessing might be Eric, but we'll have to see, because Rightfully so, I know they'll let that tilt Bob's, that'll... Alright, I think Eric is going to show up. Enjoy. He said enjoy. Watch. You can do commentary if you want. Oh yeah, no seriously, we're playing so go. Sit. Don't be shy. No, sit over here. He's playing with me. Go. I am. But I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. But I'm waiting, so I have to sit anyways. Might as well entertain. All right, introduce yourself. Hi, chat room. It's Priyanka. Why aren't they saying hi back? Chat room, say hi. Oh, boy. All right. That was wrong. Jean is our best player, too, for Fishtails. They sleep really tight. Oh, yeah. I saw Bob's tilted. He did. Oh, does he get that back? Does he get it back? No. Oh, there we go. Aw, thanks guys. I love you. Pittsburgh love there, folks. Oh, too much. Way too much. You can get away with some subtle nudging, but once you see the machine move like that, there's no way he's going to make that. Sorry, Gravatar, I'm not in final. I almost made it to novice. Almost. Carl, like a boss, hit the hole in one on Batman. Nicely done. Nicely done. right that show you uh again just go all out the filter go back for it yeah Alright, player four is Jill Lamire. Rightfully letting that thing settle down. Where's Jill from? I think Massachusetts. I don't know where exactly, but... Why was the novice cut off? I don't understand the question. Do you mean by number of strokes or? Yeah, what do you mean? It was the people, the top four people past the top 16 that were not ranked in the top 250. Yeah, 251 or lower. Hopefully that answers your question. It was a four-way tie for four. Yeah, for two spots, yeah. Alright, Joe, is the field ready? Alright, let's see. Let's see what Joe can do here. It is tough with that speed around. There's a ball save, but it's very short. It is three seconds or four seconds. Whatever the settings are for the lowest amount of time. Oh, God. No. Apparently it's snowing in Pittsburgh. I don't like to hear that. That means it might be drifting towards the Midwest. I always get excited because my birthday is the first day of spring, but it always snows. And my birthday is when it starts turning fall-ish. And I don't like it. Back in college, I had a rule that I was very stubborn. I would not change to jeans until after my birthday. And it would sometimes get cold and I'd still wear shorts, just out of stubbornness. We got one monster fish, fish five. You know what, points are points. It just makes the value of that next monster fish bigger. As long as you can just get in that rhythm. This fish was really kooky. Like sometimes if you hit the post it will just pop up onto the ramp. Yeah, it's like a ball transfer back to the right end lane. Or like the ball will get stuck in really weird places. Yeah, the shot on the flipper is weird. mentioning how my internal clock, I shoot for the captive ball from the left flipper, and I make the right round. Yeah. Like, in my head, of, like, where I think the captive ball shot is. In my brain, it's still, like, I'm used to playing it with lightning flippers. That's true. So it took me so long to be like, why so floppy and long? It's just not where it should be. Bam. Full value. 30 million. Chipping away. He gets one more monster fish. Full value. Done. Alright, see if you can get in that rhythm. Is the play field warped? Yeah, maybe a little bit. It kind of has that World Poker Tour where it feels like it's not level on the left and right side. It's unique. Very unique. Yeah. It's fish scales. Oh, nice. It's always nice getting that roll up the inland, seeing good credit. Alright, there we go. Get back into it. Ooh. Ooh. That's alright, good progress, good progress. Um, is anyone going for multiball? I mean you could but it's not worth it if you just can advance your monster fish. Clocks are set on hard. I think people will take it if it's given to them but not actively going for it. I didn't notice that, I knew that there was a drop target came up, but I didn't notice like after that if you, like sometimes I just would hit the lock shot. Yeah, sometimes you can power through that drop target into the scoop. Yeah. Some people were doing it, but. It was only on accident. I was not trying to. All right. I am up. I will be back. So Bob Matthews is up. Oh. Monster fish. That looks terrible. Oh, he saved it all. He could have maybe pushed it a little harder, but it's so tight right now and moving from everybody else. Looks like he's letting it settle. Oh, yeah, there is a color. Fish Trails has a color. It doesn't look like a D&D. It's not the dots. It's something else, if you can tell. Oh, my gosh. Get on back quickly. What did I miss? Bob not have a good ball? He, um. He tilt? No, he. What did he do? He had a good save, and then it just sent a drain. Typical. They're letting it pedal because he did from side to side. Is it a color DMD on Fishtails? It's not the dots. Yes, it is a color DMD. There's been rumors flying around that it had an effect on the video mode slightly. Oh. Where some of the closer ships have, like, a slight quick, like, lag. It's like a weird normal time. You'd, like, shoot the... They slow down a bit. I noticed that. A lot of people who've gone and, like, been missing it uncharacteristically, and Keith Elwin and I were talking, he thinks it's because of the color DMV, something is, like, just slightly off. Using too much, yeah. I'm a big fan of the dot. But it's really smooth versus, like, other colored DMVs. I'm not going to get it off that metal post. Yeah, there's no rubber on that guy. The tilter set just fine, chat room. Don't you worry. Now in a perfect world, we would love to have Ball Save turned off on this, but the software settings actually won't allow it. Same with Demolition Man. You cannot turn it off in the settings. Like three seconds is the lowest you can do. Sorry Todd. He thinks it's too tight. It's set perfect. Nudge better. Play better, Todd. That tilt on Tron was fine last year, folks. Don't you worry. Monster fish. We got it. 13 to 4. See, look, not even a danger and he gave it a nudge there. The tilt is fine, folks. All right, let's see if Joe can get that last monster fish. They're on ball two? They are on ball two. What game are you playing, Batman? Batman. Did Carl get it on ball one? Sorry Chris, I disagree. Every game should have no ball save. In a perfect world. And Josh and I will never be convinced otherwise. Ooh, that was a nice save. He's dialed in. There it is. Nice. Bam. Joe with a two. He is taking a commanding lead now, depending on how Bob does. I think the chat room's radio is from North Hampshire. New Hampshire? Oh, okay. Maybe... I don't know. I am a... You get... Okay. Mom person. Mom person. Did Carl get a board once? I don't know. Player... Player four? Who's player four? It wasn't Carl. It was the game. Right? Oh no, he's on demo. I thought he was on Batman. Carl? Oh, Carl. He did. Because I hear that's all he's allowed to get is ones. Yeah, I was looking at his stats and it was like, what, six or seven home ones? I didn't have any. You had one, right? Oh, yeah, I had a home one kiss. And then yesterday I had a two in Metallica. I should have had a 2-1 Game of Thrones because I got a majority. I had like 260 on the first ball. And then the next three balls were just trying to get it. It stayed to a flipper so it would let me get it. Hi guys, it's Jean playing. She's trying to get that monster fish. Ah, just missed it. Amazing. Ooh. Oh, so it looks like Gene hit the lock shot, and then it just kicked out the ball. And it still says he has two locks. Did you see that? No, what happened? Gene hit the lock shot, and it kicked out three balls. He lost them, but it still says he has two locks. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He has to just play on. Fishtails is doing weird stuff. So, Gene hit the walk shot. It spit out three balls. He lost two of them, but it still says... All right. It still... Oh, look at that. Only one danger. Who said that the tilts weren't good? Oh, that sucks, but... If you're telling me that was not an okay one single danger save, then you're crazy. Ah, that does suck, though. There's nothing worse than having an awesome save followed by an immediate drain. Alright, look at that. He has qualified his video mode on the captive ball. Now he just needs to... And he also has rocked the boat, so he can hit that captive ball. Oh! Why did I do that again? The novice players are playing Metallica, which is right up close. That is. This microphone picks up a lot, so... Nice. And that's my brother. He's gonna get a half yellow card for that. Are there actual yellow cards or was that just a myth I heard? Oh, verbal. I really wanted to see the physical yellow card. We had giveaway two yellow cards. I heard one went to a red shirt guy. One went to Jason Wardrick just because he was wearing a red shirt, unfortunately. But you know what? It's okay. He changed up. He's wearing a blue shirt. He is. I think somebody in the first session had a red shirt on and Tim thought he was a little aggressive, but you know what? Overall this weekend it has been pretty smooth without too many issues. The chat room really wants to see video mode. We'll see. So you can do the delayed video mode? He said the yellow cards might be set too tight. I don't think so. I don't think so. I think they're good. I do the tilt settings, Josh does the yellow card settings. How's Jason doing? He's playing Game of Thrones right now. So Jason Wierdrick is playing ball three on Game of Thrones. He is sitting at 156, and the goal is 300. Come on, Bob. Im sorry Omg its going to fall Cool Aw Now go I was.. i was you were you have to transforming into a tank into a thing do do a face who does that in the earth It looks like Jason couldn't do anything on ball three. He's still sitting at 159 on Game of Thrones. Josh Sharpe is up on Game of Thrones, and he is at 251. So very close. Looks like Gene is finally getting dialed in. Oh, and as I say it. See, that was that weird thing where it hops up on the ramp rail. Covered and come on. left loop time's out but he did hit that third lock Alright, what a miss! Uh, Dean just started multiball and he tried to get Monsterfish but it timed out. Yeah, that's actually a strategy Brian, Ty and I were discussing yesterday of, well at least when the target score was a little higher, getting to multiball, ignoring jackpots and going for monster fish with multiple balls in multiball. Yeah you can at least have like an extra... Oh there's a delayed video mode. Oh there you go. Watch this he will miss a single... Oh maybe he's just avoiding the front one altogether. I was doing that. The bigger ones are easier. See like that one. Normally people hit that one with no question. See he missed it again. It feels like it's only that very front one where it's like, there's like a weird, it goes faster than you expect, where there's like a delay when you shoot. Oh, jeez. Wow. We're just having some rough kickouts from the Jets. Who's player one? Bob? Bob got it done on this ball. Is that right? I don't know. I wasn't paying attention. Come on. Free? I was watching Game of Thrones. They're asking me how everyone else... Oh, no. Chat room, stop asking questions. Yeah, I guess Bob got it done. He's four. Player four is Joe. Joe got it done last ball. Bob is player one. I just didn't know if he got a hole in three or a hole in four. You know what? We will find out soon enough, folks. They said four. Oh, Bob got a four. All right. So that will put him into six strokes. Joe... I can't even remember. Did Joe get a two or a three? I think he got a three. So they will both be tied at six apiece. Yeah, I think he got a three. But the beauty of this format is you are never out of it. Because on the last game, if somebody gets a hole-in-one and somebody gets a ten, The tables will turn quickly. Sal is actually playing a novice. I don't think he's doing anything with cards. Sal, I don't know what he's doing. Punching air. You know what? Punch air versus punch some machines all day long. Make sure you don't punch yourself by accident. You look like you got a little closer. Alright, let's do this Jean. You got this. I think Carlos is just going to... One more monster fit and you're done. Just walk away. Establish this. Settle down. Oh. Come on. Gene is so close. Oh, no. Oh, there's the ball. The ball transfer. All right, pass it over. Come on. And be done. Oh. No, don't. And he missed the punish. Yep. Swing and a miss. Oh, no. Oh. Oh, no. Oh. Oh, no. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Swing and a miss. That was ball five, so... How... How does Dean get... High speed always gets choice of game, but you have to wait. Wait until all the groups are done. I think he'll put in our group shakeout list on that. Carl DeAngello at work here folks. Have to thank him again for this amazing setup and technology. It's pretty nice. It's pretty juicy. Oh Louise did, that was nice. Oh Louise did, that was nice. Yeah Louise killed Batman. She got the skills. Yes she does. Congratulations, that is a great goal. You black water or just straight on a wall? No, I usually survive. You survive it on the wall? Alright, final game's getting entered in and then move on to the crucial game three. Or the Ringwrap wants to go to your Enchief game. That's great, but that is actually impossible because I am not in Keith's group. So maybe you have wishful thinking for a future group, but my brother is against Keith. Yes, I will go forward. You don't even need to ask me. Sorry. All right, we'll be starting on game threes here. I know Carl will switch over to... So it looks like they're figuring things out before we switch over. All right. Thank you for jumping in here, by the way. I am up second on the count. Quick look at the standing. What group? We were following Bob's group in there. Yeah, they're on Batman. Alright. Yeah, Joe's doing real well. So there's no ball safe, obviously, on this Batman. And you think, like, oh, well, I could do that. But the first day, the goal was, like, 54 mil. and it took so long that they had to change the goal. It's now 30. This one's pretty rough. So hey chat, do you have any other questions of what's going on here? Highest seed always picks. And then they go down the list. Oh man, Bob. Has the group course started? Has group 4 started? Yeah, they should have. Let me get that up. Very good, very good. And with the standing... I'm going to put you over here. Yeah, so group four is on Evil Knievel. It's Will McKinney, Josh Sharpe, Jason Wierdrick, and Keith Elwin. That would be great. I'm getting the clothes. Oh, yeah. Pinball is great. Pinball has got skivvets and tickets. Boy. Don't worry, Ed. You can spell it however you want. Joe stepping up. On this game, try to live catch it if you can. Start Scarecrow and Joker at the same time. Try to get the skill shot so you can get the double bonus. And then mode. So he gets his second lock. All he has to do is light it. And then he can combine them both. Hits the lock. Is he going to backhand it? Nice. Oh. Nice save. Oh, no. Hits the lock and tilt. It was a little too much for Batman to take. And he said no. Yeah, we won't know if it's started yet until he starts. We'll see. I feel like he tilted before he got the lock, though. So hopefully he didn't waste it. Oh, yeah. It's killing me. I want to know. I don't know. It could be Sharp is dropping bombs. I don't know. Maybe. I think they are mad, bro. So, it looks like Zach is on Metallica. Her own ball. Ball two is four mil. He just got too dangerous, but I think he just started sparking. Yeah, who are you rooting for, guys? Someone has money on Josh? Josh? like Bob Matthews is taking his time and I would too this is a hell of a move looks like he has no no locks ready the return on the Batmobile shot can be really, really tough. Oh, yeah. I would always put money on Josh swearing a lot and and yelling his name a lot. Yeah, J.A. Pinball, I think I looked it up last night, and he had like seven or six hole which was ridiculous like between the two days Yeah I don know what he doing but Carl is in it So Bob is trying to get control. He lit, yeah, two balls blocked. I don't know what Tim thinks about swearing. Chat room pick up on the mother and father fighting in the background. Yeah, they said someone's dropping bombs. Not to add drama. It had nothing to do with the players. I'll find out more later I think Sal was complaining to Tim about the games not being ready because as you can see from the list of games that we had listed a lot were thrown out and Sal was just kind of complaining like you had over a month to get these games ready blah blah blah tempers run a little high patience is a little low and that's what you get folks adults acting like children. It happens. Yeah, I honestly am not surprised it's happening. But I will say the rubber feet has made a world of difference compared to last year. Because I know with Tim, he was thinking people were being too aggressive because as anyone can attest, if you have games on a concrete floor and you shift it any slightly, that screeching sound on the ground makes you think like someone's abusing the games. Yeah. If you put the rubber feet on, then no issues. I haven't seen any major moves. But, yeah, they do slide pretty well without any... Yeah, they just, like... They slide, and they make the loudest noise. Like nails on a chalkboard. The Gene starts up Scarecrow. I think he has... Sorry about the autofocus. It's a little blurry. Why get pissed now? I am guessing if Sal is not playing well right now, he might not be happy with how a game's playing. Who knows? Yeah, I mean, it's emotional time. I know he's playing a novice. I don't know their progress, but, yeah, I would, you know. When do tempers not run high at a pinball event? And then get back to me. Just fueled by Mountain Dew, fueled by, you know. Vegas. Vegas. I mean, we saw, we did see Sal punching in the air in the background in the last game, so I don't think those are happy, you know, fist pumps. Yeah, it looks like Gene felt it. I don't know what kind of move he made. Yeah, I don't know. But he didn't start his multiball. All of them are kind of in, I don't want to say in jail, but just haven't got a handle on the game yet. It's okay. It's ball team. We'll figure it out. Yeah, Joe's taking his time, which I understand. He has his first lock lit, and Scareco is out. We'll see what he does. Oh, no. No ball save. Oh, it didn't start. Look at that. He has been graced. Graced by the pinball god. He better be really, he looks real stoked about it. He's bobbing his head. See if you can get it. Yep. That's a happy little hop. See if you can hit that scarecrow. Slow things down. Oh. Very drainy, very drainy. There's two more shots left to get Scarecrow. And the lock is lit with the mystery award. Hey CDs, I'll ask in a minute. I think Zach walked away. And, oh man. Looks like, I mean, he's making progress. He's got, it looks like 12, I think. The goal is 30. I believe. No, actually, I think the goal is 20. Oh, come on. Ah, nice save. Get control. You can't see. A lot of these games have super bands on them and those rubbers. If they do have rubbers. So, it is different if you're not used to playing with them. They're a bit more sticky. They grab the ball a bit. Can you get the third block? Oh, come on. Coming down. Jericho right in front of it. Okay, Bob Matthews starts his Joker multiball. Looks like he has one more shot left to get scared though too. Also, I don't know if you can tell, the Sling Rubbers, they're flat, super-band Sling Rubbers. They're different. They're not the round ones. They're a bit different, too, if you're not used to playing with them. Oh, man. He's got the outfit out of all, very nice. He gets it. I love Bob. He's so nice. Petey's asked you a question. Oh, what's up? Would be the ruling on Batman if someone tilts and it ruins the next player's crane? I am not familiar. Is that like a glitch or a bug? I'm not quite certain what you're getting at. And apparently if that's a bug, I am not familiar with it. Is it like a tilt through warning until the next player messes up something? I don't know if I know what you're talking about. Please explain your question, C.D. Please explain? I will give you my thought, but as we always do with every ruling, we all group together, you know, Josh, myself, Brian Woodard, and talk it through if it's something weird. Alright, so sometimes if a player tilts and the next player has the crane out, it will freeze the crane stuck to the right like it's hiding. Interesting. And if you shoot anything it will just never come out? Question mark? There's not a lot of people tilt, but I don't know if I've seen that happen. Here, see? So that's a bug? Is that what you're saying? Like for that whole ball that it will never come out even if you shoot the scarecrow hole? Oh, interesting. Hmm. Very interesting. Quite the situation. We're experiencing some technical difficulties. Chris, I can't hear you. No, actually I don't know. That's really, that's interesting. I don't know. You know what? I think Joe's pointing. Oh, Ed, I imagine Lyman fixed it. So, yes, I will go with that. And if for some reason we were using a Batman that had that issue, it wouldn't be ideal, but we would probably just play one-player games on it or throw it out and not use it altogether. So hopefully that answers your question. But very weird, very interesting. never heard of that. That was rough, Joe got his double bonus but he didn't really have that much. If he didn't fix it, Josh and I see him every month, if not every other week, that we can make a patch fix. He can do that in his sleep. We have not heard of any issues of it happening all weekend long so I'm assuming whatever version we're running it's all good all right let's see if yeah now the question is do you want to risk doing a the bow in or whatever. Just right orbit, double it up enough, or just collect it right away and go for bat signal challenge. I would err on just doing what he did. Who? Yeah, I just tried to get it. Now, it could be a little risky. It might not be intentional. He only has that end target lit. And the modes are actually worth pretty good in pin golf because each shot is like a million and a half. Yeah, that signal is pretty good if you can get it. Oh. Oh. No, no. Get up there. Oh, geez. The ball just does not want to go anywhere. All right, there we go. All right. Hopefully you can trap up on the right. Trap up? Oh, no, on the fly. I did not like that decision. He's been shooting a lot on the fly. I don't like that. In double danger. Because if he cradled up, he could backhand the scoop on Scarecrow, shoot Joker. Yeah. So backhand. Cradle. He can't breathe now because he has two. Alright, backhand that scarecrow. Boom. Hit that joker. I would cradled first, but he said he's been hanging on the fly. I'm doing a lot of that. Alright. Now joker shot. And just hit that left orbit. Just take it. Nice. And he got his mode lit. And his mode list. He could probably monkey flip his way to a par. I have never heard that before. That's how monkey flipping. I have to get destroyed by that crane. Every ball, that crane is probably going to have three people draining off the bucket. There's a million and a half. Every shot. If you can get any. All right, don't cradle up. Come on. Use that ball tape. You know, hit Alfred. Get that edible. Oh, he got it. He got his add a ball there. Just hit everything. Shoot, shoot, shoot! Don't crittle up. You get your ball safe. Enjoy it. Batmobile shot. You don't hit it. Alright. All he needs to do is shoot the scarecrow. Shoot that left orbit. And he's done. Oh, look at that Lazarus! So nice. Hit that. Done. Like I said, he could just monkey flip his way to his par right here. No offense to monkeys, but... He's got it. Look at that. Double fist pump. High fives. Fist pumps. There we go. Another high five. Fist pump Bob. There we go. Got it. Bob can plunge his ball. Looks like player three is Gene. He's at what? 24 million? Ugh, Batman, let's see what he has lit. Batman, trying to get to 5 million sucks. When you have nothing lit. Yeah. Oh, but you know what, looks like he's got his mode lit on the left orbit. I would just do that. Yeah, there's a weird spot where you are, like once you get everything, you're like, oh, what do I do now? Now I gotta start all over, or, you know. Yeah, you don't want to try for a fresh Joker multivolt or Scarecrow. Oh, and you certainly don't want that. And you know what, it's actually, I don't know if it's a mode, well he's got a mode lit but he's got fat signal challenge multiball lit on the left. So pretty much if he shot that left orbit he would have gotten it but now he wastes his stroke. It looked like he was trying to but he hit that post dead on and went out. Alright, let's see if Joe who was sitting pretty before all of a sudden, you know, 4 million on Batman with 2 balls to play. It looks like he has no progress on his scarecrow. Oh, you got a freebie there. Take it. Oh, it's too light. Too light. Cradle up. Backhand that. Get that joker. Oh no. Settle down. Yep, take a breather. Lock that second joker. He mentions that his scarecrow has been taunting him all... Uh oh. Yep, that's a frustration grunt. crow has been taunting him all... Uh oh. Yep, that's a that's a frustration grunt. Because if he has a house ball on his last ball he might get like a nine or a ten, which can really make things interesting. The only weird thing I noticed on this Batman was I was playing it the other day and like a couple times I shot the Batmobile ramp, and it wouldn't give it to me. Interesting. Mm-hmm. Actually, your dad thought, and he was like, I don't know if that gave it to you. No. Did it go up and down? Mm-hmm. If you don't hit, like, a switch, it won't give it to you for the hurry-up. It actually has to go back there to start the, unfortunately. After that, once you start the hurry-up, you don't need to get it back there. you can kind of limp it around. We're a little blurry. Sorry. The camera's auto-focusing. The gene... Got it, right? I can't even tell. I can't even tell. I think he got it. We're sitting all the way at the end, so we can barely see some of the stuff happening. Thank you, Lord of the Rings breath. I don't know what that is. I think that's Chris Warren, but interesting screen name. All right, even though it's kind of hard to see, let's see if Joe can put this away. If he gets a 10, I think there's going to be a tie between him and Gene. Come on, focus. He's just going for Joker. He seems relaxed. He's got three more shots. If he's able to execute, he has three more shots. Okay. Okay. Alright. And we're in focus. He's got two more shots. He's got to survive one drop target shot. Oh, and a feed from the Jets. Oof. Oof. Even he didn't know what happened there. Wait for that Skeletor to get the hell out. All right. Settle down. Wait for that thing to move. Yep. He's so mad. You can see it. Always be patient. It's lit. All right. And. Oh, he got it. All right. He can breathe. I don't know the percentages, but I think he will not get a 10, so he should be fine. What? What are you talking about, Focus? It looks fine. I don't know about you guys. It looks perfect here. Yeah, I don't know why the focus is doing that, but... Sometimes the lights, they just... The tube breaks, the camera doesn't know what to do. This is how it looks like if I were to play with no contacts in. This is Vegas vision. Actually, this might be better than if I didn't wear contacts. Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately, I am not eligible for LASIK eye surgery, so I will be wearing contacts for life. My corneas were deemed too thin. All right, there we go. So he's at 14. Yeah. He will not get a 10, so he is fine. But obviously, he just... It always feels better to hit the par score than to not, so... It's a good feeling to not... Just don't leave anything up to chance. To need an extra scrubber to heal later. It looks like it will be Bob and Joe advancing from this group. He's getting real close. Who's got a tie? The novice finals, Val and Jericho. Oh yeah. We got a tie in the novice finals. Nice one. That's a good joke. That is good. Hey, don't knock Kevin Stone. He made the finals at Texas Pinball Festival. Yeah, he got the hell out of here. Yeah. Go do that. After he was eliminated from the national championship here, he hightailed it down to Texas. Yeah, I think he was playing against his buddy Pierce, which happens often. Gotta play against someone you play against all the time. Oh, in the nationals he played in? Yeah. That's funny. So Pierce is from D.C. Plays against Kevin Stone often. He's from Virginia. Pierce is from Virginia? D.C. Oh, D.C., okay. You mentioned a lot of people wrote you guys letters. And you're like, we want to do a national. That's all Josh. I don't make any of those decisions. But yeah, he seemed pretty stoked to be here. It was, like, exciting. First D.C. representative. Can we move to Fishtail? There's nobody on there. There's nobody on Fishtail. Fishtail is off. And I don't trust myself with touching any equipment besides talking into this microphone. That's all Carl. Alright. Let's see. How'd you do? You have a tiebreaker? Who hired who? Who are you picking? Batman? Actually, we are going to stay on Batman because we have a... Well, maybe a less-low group. Anybody tied up the... What? The featured group? The other tied group, and they gave a head-flip. I need to stay on Eric and... Alright, we will... looks like there's going to be a couple tiebreakers. Looks like my brother and Jason Wardrick are tied. So we'll see what happens. Can you start Batpod during any other multiballs? I don't think so. I think you can. I think you can at least make progress on other multiballs during Batpod. Yeah, I don't know if we can start it, though. We cannot switch to... Actually, Carl's walking back here. Do you want to switch to Fishtail? Yeah. I mean, otherwise we're just talking about Batman. Which might be played for the tiebreaker, but that's fine. Oh, that's how you do it. And it is Brian Dyes here. Look at that. Tight. Uh-oh. That might be close. Oh, my gosh. He missed the target score by less than 300,000. 99 million. That's a stroke. In golf, that's like a little gimme putt that just, you know, kind of rims right out. I can't see. He was player four. Oh, yeah. 99 million, 776,000. I don't know what other people had stroke-wise, but it looks like player one already had it. I don't think player two's got it yet. I don't think player two has it. So if player one, if it's according to proper order, Jim Balsito will have advanced because he already has high enough strokes. He's player one at five strokes, so he will advance. Johnny, on the other hand... Oh, wait a second. Oh, it's 10 million. It looks like he's got 10 million. So he... this is going to be interesting. Oh, fast cast. Now if I were him at this point on ball five, even though it's dangerous, go for video mode. Yeah. And rock the boat. Done. Captive ball. I mean you have to survive three captive ball hits, but right now... How did you do that? Who said the tilts weren't fair? Look at that. You told me that wasn't good. That was a move. That was perfect. Get that monster fair. I'm proud of myself there. Get that monster fish. I'm proud of myself there. Nice. Yeah, there it is. Alright. Now he's got to survive a kick out here. Does it go down the right end lane? Does it go out the right out lane? Or does it go down the middle? We're in Vegas. Bet. Oh, right end lane. This is really pretty. And you know what? If he's just feeling the flow of the monster fish, She can do it. I'm feeling it. I personally don't like getting too committed on just the Catholic ball because you never know if you're getting it back. So if he's feeling the controlled shots, nice. Oh, that was pretty good. And nice. And he gets it. Oh, look at that. Double fist pump. I think that is going to make Johnny advance. He's at 83. Yeah, he's going to have, even if he doesn't hit the par score, He has enough of a lead on Brian Dye and Andre. But you know what? Never leave anything to chance. Now he's hitting the catch the ball. Oh, and video mode for the win. He's got this. Look how relaxed he looks now. Yeah. It's always nice when you know you have it. Totally casual. Casual play. Everything goes your way. He's going to go down the in lane. Out lane. All right. That's a fist bump. Handshakes. A happy Johnny. I don't think it would have mattered if Brian got it on the previous stroke, but it hurts nonetheless. Yeah, there's been some close calls. Like, you know, if you get it with bonus or not. Mm-hmm. With everything. And what hurts even more is the people who qualified 17th. I think Jason Scheppelmeyer missed it by one stroke, and you can't help but think about all the games that you played and all of, like, oh, I could have had it one less stroke. Just like real golf. Oh. And he's got it. Unless you tell him. No, he's got it now. Yeah, he's got it on both sides. All right. All right. And this is his last game of pinball, so I think he might just play it for fun, because he's got nothing else to do besides watch, probably come back here and do some commentary. You guys are switching over to Batman? We are switching to Batman. I'm guessing it's my brother and Jason Wardrick? Oh, yeah. Hi, Breaker. I will love to do commentary for my brother. So I can make fun of him for all the poor decisions he makes. Should be fun. I'll take it Johnny and Jim advance from that group. Oh, I meant to tell you. Wait, wait, no. I haven't looked at it. At least on a mobile phone. I mean, it's show you. I don't know if it's something that's recognized. You can't scroll. Oh, no, I didn't know that. No. It just says the hub dogs. Yeah, you can't do anything. Look at that. That's horrible. You got the numbers? Just wanted to give you a heads up on that. Yeah, and I'm not going to be able to take that right away. So it's Josh versus Jason Weirdrick playing Batman. Tiebreaker. Hey, guys. Hey, Brian. Oh, hey, it's Priyanka from Pittsburgh. I'll leave you a comment. I'm going to make fun of Josh. If you don't mind. Bye-bye. First missed. Yep. Happens. Happens to the best of us. All right. I don't think Josh and Jason really ever play much, like ever. Really? I just... We play in league and everything all the time. So used to it then. He's really bad now. Priyanka is commentating with me for right now. I'm glad that Johnny caught me because I would have lost the tiebreaker by then. Jason with a rare hatless appearance. Kind of like me. I know it's throwing some people off. Do you think? Okay. Alright, let's see how that feed is. Oh! That is gonna not be a tilt, but no progress on anything. Alright, it's do or die right here. Josh will plunge for the Joker 2X and try to work it out. It's tough. stuff. Look at him. I know the thought process. It's like, do I want to take the joker double? Or if I don't get it on this ball, then I'm kind of screwing myself for ball three. But you know what? Got to take it. So all the games are set to five balls. And you want to get it as quickly as you can. It's like golf. Don't play too risky. Josh is like, why don't we have ball saves? That little face is great. Why don't we have ball saves? That's rough. That's a... Not only did he waste his Joker double, but he made no progress on Joker or Scarecrow. So did they both not have any locks? They... Josh has the Scarecrow out of the nesting position. It's slightly better than what Jason has. He has no drop target down. He's got nada. Almost out of the way for Batmobile. I know. I was saying not going for Joker. or... No, it's got a grip. It's got a grip. It has to, though. It didn't. Oh. That's all right. If you fail on ball three, you can do it on ball four. Yeah. Jason is meditating. This is one of Jason's favorite games, I think. I know Getaway is another one that he loves, and Next Generation. And Indianapolis 500. He showed me, like, a picture of his collection. He collects Transformers, like the actual action figures from Japan from anywhere and then yeah then he has like a really nice Transformers and then a Indianapolis 500 yeah I think he is hosting our May pinball league session I'd love to see that collection I bet it's all rippers rippers? games you can rip like real fast games you can just I don't think I've ever heard that but yes they are rippers bye bye Ooh, nice. All right, bring up Scarecrow, Jason. What are you doing? I don't agree with that. Oh, that was... You know why? Because at least if you have Scarecrow out, you might get some lucky bounce hits off of it, and you're advancing towards that multiball. But, like, he is still at nothing. He has lock one lit, but he's got nothing. So this is wide open. Yeah, because you can get your locks lit. I mean, but getting the Scarecrow out, it's kind of a weird shot. You can backhand it, but sometimes forehanding will just bounce out. With the way it is right now, sometimes it's nice because the feed from those jets, it might shoot it down the spinner, and it might hit the captive ball and save it from a drain down the middle. And you're a work in progress. Let's see if it happens. Jeez. All right. Settle down, Joshy. And a miss. And slings in out. Nope. All right. He cannot find that Joker. He's yelling at the scarecrow currently. And he misses again. And again. High level play here, folks. And a third. Oh, and it didn't even give him a pity progress on his scarecrow. Yep. Gotta clear that head space. Yep. Wait patiently. Wait for the crane to move. Shoot the spot target. Yep. Oh, nice. He's got it. Oh. Oh. Jeez. This is like real golf. The tension is killing me. They're just shanking balls left and right. Higher game score won't be a tiebreaker. Correct. If they have the same strokes after this game, it will be another tiebreaker on a new game. Score means nothing unless you're counting score as strokes. The actual game score means nothing. It's strokes. It's strokes, guys. Come on. Strokes for different probes. Alright, let's see if Jason learned from... Nope, he's just gunning for Joker. All one lock. Gotta get that crane out, guys. Gotta get the crane out. Because if he does start Joker, you want Scarecrow. Alright. What is he going to do? Hold it up. No, on the fly. Wow. That was quite nice. That was like a hop over. Hit the lock and then it went inside. Alright, let's see if he at least brings it out before he's... Oh, man. Wow. My Josh picked... Josh was the higher seed and he chose this. This is still neck and neck. When it comes out to the right and hits the top of the sleeve, Most of the time you're seeing it go out the left out lane. Nice and done, you win. Yeah. Nice and done. Aw, nice Sal. The winner of the novice, Sal. You can be happy now. Thank you, gentlemen and ladies. All right. Let's see if Josh can lock a ball here. It's because I wouldn't make it, so. Well, it was a twist of 10 to find it away, right? Good fun nonetheless. I have PA, Papa, 18 coming up everybody. Oh yeah. See you in Pittsburgh. Too soon. Got to recover. Oh. Oh, look at that. Who set these tilts? Perfect, folks. Too dangerous. Perfect, folks. And it got a last chain. All right. He needs to survive one drop target shot, start Joker, and then good things can happen. Carry it over. Nice live catch. 30 million is the par score. I can't see the breakdown of percentages, but if Josh can start Joker multiball here, he should be able to get the bam. He's got to play real careful, though, because he's got two dangers. But he did get his Joker multiplier from the skill shot. So if he can just get a couple supers on that Joker, Alright, he needs to trap up on the left and get in his nice little rhythm. Cradle on the left, there he goes. Now, get the ball on the right. Nice, got his add-a-ball. Oh no, he started Scarecrow. Nevermind, he did not get his Alfred add-a-ball just yet. Oh, a Kenny Lazarus. Alright, he looks like he's going to try shooting up the middle to start his, uh, bat pod. But, if I were him, I would just shoot left orbit. Just, yep, good, smart decision, Josh. Because now he's got his super lit. Yep, and this super should be worth about ten million. Actually, no, because he does not have it doubled. It will be about five million or six and a half and bam four million okay now pray that it falls in the scarecrow hole nope and all right cradle left orbit left orbit pray that it falls in the scarecrow's coophole trap up left orbit Oh, Batmobile. And remember, folks, he's on a double danger, so you will not see him do too much body English. He can't afford to. Nope. Trigger it. That's all that matters. Just trigger that switch. Now you can trap up here. Oh, a little too much speed on that, but that's fine. Oh, perfect. One more to light. Oh, sorry. I think one more now to light Joker super. All right, important cradle separation here. Oh, my goodness. Wow. You backhand. All right, he's got super lit. This should do it. Right here. Bam. Going nuts. CD's going nuts. Look at that. Backhand scarecrow. He's got it. With his bonus. Okay. Assuming he doesn't tilt. He's at like 29. Still nice to see it. Yep. Never trust bonus. Mm-mm. Nice. Look at that. Walk off. Good job. So Jason needs to hit the target score on this ball or it's over. He does not have his scarecrow out. He doesn't have his scarecrow out, but he's got Joker multiball lit. Boy, he's got to survive one drop target. Yeah. And he can do a Joker super skill shot to have 2X Joker. Nicely done, Jeff. And you got your double Joker, too. Yeah. That's what I wanted to do. Wait, come on. Come on. All right, here, folks. Let's see how the feed is from the... Is it going to go on the scoop? Let's see if he does it on the fly or if he... Oh, come on. He's trying to get out of there. Check out. There we go. Alright. That's it. Now, did he backhand open Scarecrow or bring out Scarecrow? Or did he just start Joker? He's trying. He's trying. This is the first time we've seen him try to shoot Scarecrow. Oh no. Oh my goodness. Forehand didn't work either. He knows he needs it. He's got it. He's got to do it. Backhand it. There we go. There it is. Now change that in lane so you can get Light as Mystery in the back. There we go. Oh! That's two. Go two. Wow. There it is. That seemed a little unnecessary, but you know what? Sometimes in that heat of the moment, you just want to make sure you don't dream. So just like Josh, he goes into multiball with two dangers. Stop doing that. Can he do it? We will see. He needs to hit the target score, or he is out. And he got his Alfred Addable. He can still work on his Scarecrow progress. He's got one more for Scarecrow. It will go back up, though, if he hits that last Scarecrow. I would avoid it right now. He did get his Alfred Addable, but I would avoid that Scarecrow until he's down to two balls. Yeah. But I'm sure an incidental ball will fly around. It might be just on accident. Yeah. All right, Joker super lit. Oh that all right You know what Take it Now hit that Joker Scooper He very calm He gotta be calm He's got two dangers. He's gotta know what to do. Alright. And, Scooper. Oh. Oh, no. It will not give it to him. You have to hit that drop target. Wow. Oof. Alright. There we go. Four million. Is that 18 or 19? He was at 18. So, he needs to get to one more super. Wow. Alright, left orbit. Or you can shoot Scarecrow and then left orbit. But, you just get in the nice rhythm, keep shooting that left orbit, and then until you get your Joker super lit, get your in lane. Oh, looks like Bone Sacks. The best is when it lights a playfield multiplier. Then you can double up your Joker shot and the par score just melts away. Is it going in the... Nope. Oh, he could have had that. He could have. But he has two dangers. He does have two dangers. Thinking about it. Jason always makes things interesting. That's nice. Alright, he's got, I think, one more to light his Joker. Yep, super's lit. Alright, cradle up, cradle up. Boom. It looks like we are going to be going on, unless something crazy happens, we are going to be going to another tie-break game. Oh, I don't want to speak too soon. What is he at? 27? He's at 27. He did get the bonus X. I think he might have it in bonus, but you know what? Don't count on it. I would cradle up. Just see where you're at. See where you're at before you start shooting stuff. Alright. Breathe. Check your bonus. Or don't. But I would shoot up the middle. No, not looking at the bonus. I do not agree with that. This is going to be heartbreaking. He cannot tilt. He should have it in bonus, but I don't know. And we will never find out if he tilts. Oh. Oh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Barely. He got it in bonus. Do you feel it? You should feel it when that bonus counts. All right. On to the next hole. That was like a roll around the top. Intense. They're not messing around. Let's see what Josh picks. Josh is picking Volley. Interesting. I love Volley, guys. I love Volley, too. I'm a little surprised. If I were to guess, I would have guessed Josh would pick Metallica. Wow. It's just you. Okay. We can... You can't see the score, but we'll try to let you know. Carl's going to relay us the scores. That's a good start. Did he like anything? He did nothing. It would have been the worst ball possible in volley. Skill shot. All right. Oh, no. Don't. Oh, man. Another great start. When it comes out the sides, you really have to gauge what kind of nudge to give it to make it go in the in lane. Still have enough to like... He's got two. Oh, no. There's another one. Oh, that was nice. Hit a drop. Don't... That was... He's blue and yellow lit, not green. Oh, it hit those drop targets a little too quickly. Yeah, sometimes if you hit them two at a time, it won't count. All right. That luck flipper has been sticking sometimes if you make it a really aggressive slap save. Mm-hmm. But it corrects itself. I agree, Josh. Stop doing that. The gap is large. The gap is very large. And green. It's lit. Now he needs to shoot some drops. Drops all day. Or no drops. Oh. But it was lit. So that's a point. I don't even know what score he's at. He's at 37,000. What is the goal? 70? 70. The goal is 70. All right. This is do or die. You know what? You're not out of it. He can hit that parts book right now. Shoot the blue. Missed. He missed. Oh, wow. Threw it up. This is painful. Oh, no. Oh, no. Here it comes. In lane. All right. That's 5,000. And blue. Oh, geez. Missed it again. Shot the same spot. All right. I would backhand the yellow. And miss it. There you go. Oh, he got it. Finally. Now he needs a blue. Right there. No. Oh. Oh, wow, a little finicky. Josh looking a little finicky. There it is. No, not yet. One more. He needs one more. No, he got it. Green out the right. That's fine. Got it now. Oh. So Josh got it in five. You gave away a couple scrotes there. But with volley, you just never know. Why didn't you... Volley, really? Yeah. Good one. All right. Jas is feeling it on volley. That's why he picked it. Apparently it showed. It's not Metallica. Yeah, you've got to advance first, though. Yeah, far is good for the game. I mean, the average top five is five. Yeah, it's been eating people up. All right. A better first ball plunge than Josh's. Yeah. All right, that's 5,000. Yellow is the only one lit. Ooh, that came out of there nice. All right, that's another 5,000. That's a... Nothing. Nothing. Oh, that's a portuose bounce up. Beautiful. Lit the blue. All in ball one. And that's another 5,000. Nice save. Did he hit a drop? No. All right. I would clip that far right yellow. What is it? It's like a seven-ton split yellow. It is. Clip that yellow. Oh, what is he doing? Yep, 5,000. All right, nice. I would backhand the far left yellow. I would do that, too. Oh, good thought. Good thought. Got it out of there. Oh. It just hit anything. Oh, all right. That's fine. Can you see what score he's at? He is at 30-something. It's a wedge head, so tilt usually ends game. Yeah, tilt ends game. Josh, just watch. Watch. Yeah, no. Josh, watch it. Watch every ball. For your decision for choosing this game. Jason's trying to get that skill plunge. He can get that last one. Oh, that's all right. Sometimes that pop will just stick it back up there. Oh, so close. He's hitting that 1,000 jet bumper. Those are good points. Oh, too much. All right, back in the yellow. He's trying to light the green. Yeah, I wouldn't. I think on the fly he was just taking it. But he can cradle up back in that far left yellow. I think he really wants it up there. Open the visor. Too early. You did the same shot Josh did. That's 5,000. Oh, that was really beautiful. All right. All right, far left. You know what, two blues. Go for the blue. Oh, good dog. Just missed it. But you got a nice little thousand there. Almost hit the yellow. Oh, no. And that's center. He is at 46 on ball three. Yeah. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. He's at 46. ball three. Yeah. He can do it. With some portuous drains. The only thing is, if it takes him to ball five and he gets it, then we have another tie. Another tiebreaker. Yep, you know it. Looks like he's trying to shed some light on the plunge. It's tough to see where the ball guides are. It's a little bit dark on this side. A little dark. You can tell. You don't have the tin. Oh, there it is. He lit it. He lit it, but he already had a lot of those drops down. There's a blue. He's got it up there. All the pops are lit. He has some fortress drains. He should have it in this ball or the next ball. There's a blue. Or he might tilt. You never know. That is possible. This is a tilt and steam. He got it. He got it. Oh, very nice. All right. Walk off. Well, that's it, folks. For Josh, his tournament light is over. Oh, look at the hug. Josh is like, I'm going to take it out on him and leave. All right. Josh is going to get the next round of sheets going. And he's got the final game. You never win tournaments you run. Some clutch play there from Jason. All right. Why did Josh choose volley? I bet he's asking the same question. He was feeling it. Apparently not, but... Josh sometimes chooses something different than I think he would choose. I thought he was going to choose Metallica. I mean, volleyball is a fun game. I respect it. Some people can play it, but you never know. It's like choosing drop a card. I had to play that. I had to play drop a card. Oh, we all had to play that game a lot. Yeah, I had to play it for my tiebreaker to see if I'd get into Novick. I was in a four-way tie for two spots. And drop a card was just like, no. You've had enough. And it was funny because one of the guys who was tied, he tilted on ball two. So I was like, ah, I got more of a shot. Lewis, dragging is fun. At least you got to, you know, bow a little bit. Yeah. I don't care how much you're feeling the game. Sometimes the pinball gods want none of it. they want to humble you well thank you Travel Thick thanks for making it out here so did we announce that Sal he won novice yep he had a little bit of a fit and then he won yeah him and Tim had a little disagreement about games being ready for the tournaments and not being up to shape it all worked out but yeah Oh, yeah. Kayla, I was eligible because I'm sitting at like 400-something in IFTA rankings. I honestly didn't know until last night while I was leaving, Jason Widrick was like, Are you in? And we kind of figured it out. I wasn't sure, though. I was so close, though, to just making it into Maine. Clean, yeah. I was so close because I got 45 strokes the first day and then 47 the next. It was consistent. I could have done a little better. Just like real golf. Everyone was like, man, giving away strokes. Lewis, you should have lit those pops. The cutoff for novice was being ranked 251st and below. Otherwise, you were not eligible. Yeah, there was one guy who was... Two ahead. I think Jason Scheffelmeyer was 17th and John Kramer was 18th. Yeah. And they were both ranked too high. Too high. So they were not eligible. I'm getting yelled at. As late as possible. Third, I guess. I am going to step out. I'm sorry if you have to do it again. You got the controls? Yeah, it's only a small change here. If you hit the quarterfinals link down there, it will now show semifinals. You can click on click eight. So click here? Yeah, exactly. Here? No, up here. Thanks. No clicks to my funnels. Is it on there? I don't know if I clicked the right thing. Click down here and see what happens. Does that work? Yeah, there it is. I got it. It also zero strokes though. No strokes though. That's good. Should we switch it over? Yeah, do you know how to do that? This? Say yes? No. Do you want to do it? No, I don't know how to do that. All right, here we are. Metallica Group with Carl D'Python Anghelo, Johnny Monica, Joe Lemire, and Keith Elwin. The par score here is 20 million. For those who don't recognize my voice, this is Brian Dye. My finals day is over. I'm still here. We're all still here. We're still in Vegas. We're still here. And that's okay, because we're still in Vegas. That center shot was a little bit later than I expected. To the Sparky? Yeah. He was in a weird place. Yeah, the first time I played in this tournament, I was just trying to get it over to the left, and any time I shot Sparky, it would just kind of launch it up into the pops or onto the ramp. Yeah. He was going to be just right. Yeah. But he has no feet, so it's going to be easier to get it. And in the right orbit, he bounces off the top of the right sling on the feed and just kind of sends a lot of out of control. Cool. That was a nice save. He got a second free. Nicely done. Oh, he missed. Yeah, the hammer does get a little bit in the way. You're not... you only had a double hit. There it is. It's a good start. Johnny had a clutch ball on pitch tails. He made it through. He's going to want to hit the the guitar pick spot targets to light his add a ball and two times play field. Which will significantly help him get to 20 million a little bit faster. Looks like he has one more pick to hit. He's got three. Now two. He's got the far right and the far left. Okay. And he went to cradle up here. Aw he's flailing. He really wanted to stick real bad. He missed the grace period there. Is he going to hit the graveyard again? Yeah he's backhanded. It's backhandable like that. That's all I want now. It is. It's pretty high up there. It's a little... You don't want to hit maps in orbit or it will reset them. Yeah. I mean, any time you hit a ramp, orbit, or if you drain, you know, all the targets reset, so... Yeah. It doesn't save your progress. It's great. No, like, for example, if you have a ramp, you know, you're going to have to go up and Like for example, if you have one shot left and you drain, you still have to hit three more drop targets. He could not find it. He tried to backhand it and hit the post. But it was overall a pretty good ball. Like ball one. Yeah. Joe is up. Is he trying to short plunge with the skill shot? I don't know. Okay. Solid shot. And do it again. See that's such a weird, like you have to be just right. In order to get it on this Metallica. get it on this Metallica. Alright. And then you're at the mercy of the magnet to give you a decent speed. Do it again. And, oh. Oh, what a save. No dangers. No dangers. Up the ramp. It's hard on the fly. You need to be like right there. So I've seen some people hold the left flipper and short plunge and try to get the super skill while it's still lit. So to short plunge the upper end lanes while holding the left flipper, I think the left upper end lane is worth 2x super skill shot and the right one is worth 3x. Yeah, super skill to roll over lane. So that's, it is also a skill shot. Ooh, that comes in mad. It's one of those like saving grace foils and he knows it too. He just saw they, uh... He's even feeling fast. It was a tough ball for a teep there. He just got that drop real hard. Oh, I'm playing amazing. He's had a great weekend. He's super dialed in. Like everything I've played is great. He has a nice little backhand, something you don't see very often. So I mean whenever the... Sometimes the magnet will screw you. Yeah, there's a lot of give and take with the sparky magnet. I mean, it's a nice easy shot at the middle most of the time, but you're really at the mercy of what happens after that. If the pinball gods decide that your call is over, it's over. Nope. Good timeout. Oh. Yeah, at that point, if I'm getting close, I don't think I'd try to rush my shot to get the super skill. It's just not worth the amount of points that you would get versus the risk you would take draining. It's just not worth it, especially when every ball counts and is extremely valuable in this pinball format. Yeah, there's no ball save, so every shot has to be on point. Alright, we're on ball two. Joe's stepping up. He's very close to get Sparky if he can do what he did before. Nicely done. I'm going to see 1.8 million is a pretty hefty skill shot. I'll stop. Control. Pass it over. Can you call to level a game in a tournament like this? I mean, if it's a significant issue, I don't see why not. You can ask the tournament directors to look at it. I don't know that you can change it in the middle of a game. There it is. He almost just lost. He made a beautiful save and then started. So again, priority number one is to get the spot targets. Get those picks. So like the add a ball, the snake, give you two times play field, add a ball. He's had a double drain and then dropped the S-bomb. So, uh, probably just start focusing on the grave now. All the drops down? Yes. You gotta get that backhand. Or forehand if you feel confident. I was way more confident with the forehand on this one. Really? That's what I would do every single time. I'm too much of a nervous person to do the poor dance. I mean... That was the brutal double drain there for Joe. Yeah, a little. And the take a walk and go off his theme there. Just take it off. It was only a ball two, so, I mean, the goal is 20. It's possible. 20 million. We're putting him up. This is... A big move there for Keith. We'll probably let that stiff for a few minutes. If you're just joining us, we are IE Pinball, the Inland Empire Pinball Association, streaming the IFPA 10 Masters Finals. This is round two of finals. We're down to eight players. In this group we're following Carl D'Python Anghelo, Johnny Modica, Joe Lemire and Keith Elwin. This is the first circuit event of the new Papa Surga year for 2016-2017. And Carl's stepping up here. This is a pin golf format. So the object is to get to the par score, which on this game is 20 million, and as few as balls as possible. Every game is set to one danger. One danger. Carl got away with one there. What did I miss? Nothing. Nothing really. So for example, this game has a target of 20 million. game in the bank is set on five ball. If you don't get into the target score in at least five balls, you're given a number of strokes, six through ten, depending on where your final score is. So a real big move there from Carl. He's taking full advantage of making a big move. Almost backhanded the grade markers out of the snapshot there. Nice shot. So Carl, a big fan of the debounce. It's another group of three western players and an eastern guy, Joe coming from the east coast. It's interesting to see the different styles of play between the east and west coast, and and I guess the centrally located stage as well. Because, like, I don't know that it's... Nice. Oh. He's got that extra ball. He whipped it. It's not... Oh. Oh. No, he's not going to get it on bonus. It's going to be so close. I've seen that fish before. So, Matty Jonica stepping up here. I was about to say, I don't think there's a... If you're talking rules and things like that, you know, whether you're... You know, no matter where you're from, you're playing the game the same way. It's just, I don't know, I guess... It's kind of regional, what people usually do. Yeah, it's weird. We play in Pittsburgh a lot, so we're used to playing against, you know, people from the West and, you know, the locals. Everyone has their own way. Yeah. So Johnny won away from Sparky Multiball here. And if he does it right, this is the second Sparty multiball. He's got $2.5 million on the table with the extra ball shot. If he does it right, this should be an easy $10 million. Especially if he gets his 2x playfield going. Nice joke. Yeah, we don't have the lead. So he should be getting close here. Yeah, he's two million away. That extra ball certainly helped out. He's got, oh he's got Lady Justice going. He should have it there, that should do it. Plus you gotta finish and crank it up so, I mean you got it Johnny. Oh wow. Johnny popped up. So he's going to take a, I believe a three. Yeah, I'll take, Johnny takes a three, so good start. What would you do if you were in Joe's position right now? That. You've dialed into that skill shot. It's a joke. You know... He needs 20. I would probably go back. I mean, it depends on what he's comfortable with. If I was having success with Sparky, I'd use it. Oh, my. That was too much. Yeah, that was a big move. So, probably going to let that sit for a few seconds. So keep walking up here. Had a rough couple, ball one and two. See if he can recover here and get back on track. And it gave it back. Oh wow. Wow. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. You know, it's hard to watch things like that, but at the same time, it's almost reassuring that it even happens to the best in the world sometimes to just have a hard time getting a hold of it. Yeah, we're all climbing the same mountain. Oh, yeah. Sometimes the mountain just falls on top of you and crushes your soul. Because, man, I just, how frustrating. I would have probably been kicked out of here by now. I just gave him a different zip code. Yeah. I would have been thumbed out earlier, but I'm fine. It's fun. Oh, yeah. Overall, great trip. Yeah. Great people. That's what makes these kind of events as special as they are. You know, we all recognize each other. We're always excited to see each other at all the events. It's good stuff. Yeah, this is a learning experience. Yeah, for sure. Ah, Joe has a good idea here. So he's going to combo the right ramp into the piston target or into the left slingshot. Try it again. That's trouble. Yeah, just not. The bottom lip of that snake, if it doesn't go inside the snake, it will bump it towards the middle because I've had some trouble centering a lot from that. Keep stepping up here on ball floor. Oh, nice day. Alright, post pass, hit the shot. It's a good recovery by Keith. Staying calm, cool collected, and he gets to his multiball. Keith is the best in the world in general, but he's an exceptional multiball player. And in no time he gets his snake lit. He has his 4X lit, if he can shoot it behind the piston, there it is, he's got 4x playfield, a super jackpot worth $7 million, an extra ball worth $10 million. And that would just about do it. Oh, man. Well, he's still easy. Oh. So he made up a lot of ground. That extra ball, even with the other two times play field, would have been worth $5 million and would have put him over. But with all the first, you know, three balls he had, Yeah, it was a good recovery. Joe's funding the ball to these players three. Everybody else has reached the target score except Jones-Huth now. Steven Bowden says 20 million seems easy. You also have to consider there's no ball saves, the tilts are pretty tight, outlanes are about as wide as I-15 here in Las Vegas. These are all playing really, really tough this weekend. I think the original, the target score on this was higher, I think it was 30 million on day one of qualifying. I don't think there was a single hole-in-one on Metallica this weekend until they changed it down to 20 million. Yeah, it was pretty impossible before they lowered the score. Very nice, we got it. Let's see if he super skills the extra ball. That gives Joe a five. That should do it. That should do it. Some hops. Oh, until you need it for pin golf, exactly. Yeah, you're right, Steve. Alright. So that'll do it for game one in with this group. And here's a look at his current standings. Looks like the other group is still on Batman, so we'll head over there real quick. Yeah, Zach is up right now at 12-3. I just saw him get an angel or two, so we'll see. He'll shoot it up. Where is it? Four. Well, maybe we'll... Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I forgot. Trying to get you over there. One second, bear with us. We've lost our top down for Batman. Really? Yeah. Is there a second one for you there? It's the top one. More computer fun. All right. We're going to go offline for a moment. We'll be back.
