Interesting. Interesting times. Definitely, definitely. But obviously if it was CGC, CGC making it, it would be just a direct copy. Yeah. With like what they did with Cactus Canyon with the version 2, whatever it is. Yeah, yeah, and AFM and MM like they just did a remake of it. Yep. But yeah. Yeah, reimagining. But without the updated code, you know? Yeah. Yep. So then there's also the, um, supposedly, CGC's next machine after they finish off, uh, Medieval Madness, the Merlin edition, wasn't it? Right. The Merlin edition, whatever it was. They've, um, they're gonna start doing another run of Attack From Mars. Mm. Why? I don't know. Another run? I don't know. It's like, isn't there enough out there already? You would have thought so. So, so it's a bit crazy. Maybe they saw my post and thought Jared wants another attack from Mark, we'll make him another one. And that's exactly right. I have influence. They heard Jared. I have influence. None. Pokemon as well, you saw some stuff about Pokemon. Oh yeah, just a saw up the um, a modder has created the card dispenser. Yeah. So which sits in front of your coin slot door and it's, Yeah, I'm not exactly sure how it works. It looks like it just plugs in and there's obviously a setting in there that when you, pretty sure it's when you get either a high score, get enter your initials in, or if you get a replay, it'll eject a card out to you. Yeah, well he said, he said it would dispense a card when a certain achievement. Yeah, that's what I mean, yeah. So you can set that achievement by the sounds of it. It wouldn't be anything in the settings. Well, it must be through his software. Yeah, that's what I mean. But look that looks pretty cool Look especially it be novelty in your home It doesn but on the site I think it be pretty cool On site I can see Yeah yeah yeah Yeah you know for people who go yeah I got a high score and here your card Yeah, yeah. But yeah. I mean, it's just a mod that's, yeah, pretty, I mean, Stumbler is the guy that's done that. And yeah, I had to look it up because when you said there was a Pokemon card dispenser, I'm like, what the hell are we talking about here? You gotta keep up with the news, mate. I know I said to you that I was a little bit of attitude with it. What's going on? Yeah, but yeah, so it did, it looked okay and I think he said he just sort of invented it as a way of sort of, you know, his kids getting into it as a prize and doing something good out of it. So yeah, I don't mind that. And there was a topper as well that you said, but even though you sent me a look, I had, yeah, there was nothing there to chat about. They just reckon there's going to be, I don't know what the fish's name is, but a Pokemon fish which will sit on the top and flap its tail like a, or wriggle around or whatever it does, like the fish tail's top a bit. Yeah. Why can't they do something different? Why can't they have a Pokemon ball up there that opens up or something and Pikachu comes out or something? Yeah. You know, have a Charizard come out. We'll have three different characters in there, they can, one come out at a time. Well I saw on muster is obviously as you know because of my 3d printing I think there was a guy that had printed a 3d topper that was quite large like it must have been what's 65 how wide no so it's a 700 wide box so it must have been yeah maybe six to 600 odd wide and it just had you know the main pokemon ball which is the red white yeah ball in the middle and then had some characters off 我讓大家來夜街ACE RECOVERY mies週虎海旗執法Sochen he I did see that. Yeah, I don't know. I'm not quite, I'm just going to have a quick look. It's called Jack in the Box. It's currently pending as a trademark, but the thing for it is downloadable computer software for interfacing with pinball and arcade game machines, downloadable mobile applications, computer game software, computer game software for use on mobile phones. They used to have bloody pin score back in the day, remember? They did, yeah. Yeah, yeah they did so it's um... So they can all be just a software update on computer, at least you won't have to go buy an Insider Connect or whatever you want to call it, a jack-in-the-box connect on put on your machine. Yeah. You should just be able to download the app and log into the machine. Yep. And I'm sure they'll have a QR code on the machine when you're on location. Yeah. Yeah that's all there. Just put just a printed out one or a magnetic um, apron card, sure they could do that. Yep, yep. So they had a bit of interest there as well. And then also Spooky, they showed off a... did you have a watch of it? I couldn't find it again. I had a bit of a search and all I found was the older speech stuff that they'd done where they talk to the machine and it turns on. Because you're talking about the Spooky speech, aren't you? Yeah, well that's exactly what they did. I didn't think there was a video of that before, was there? Yeah. I thought they only just showed it off the other day. No, I think we covered in one of our... Did we? Yeah, one of our earlier... I thought you... No, no, I know, but we never saw it actually happen. Yeah, I think he was in the background talking and it turned on. So we'll move on and have a bit of a chat about a favorite. You wanted to chat about your favorite era of pinball. No, our favorite era. It's going to be yours and mine and yours. So I was going to ask you the hard question. Okay. What is your favorite era of pinball? It could be anything. You're obviously 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, noughties, teens. I don't know what we're in now. So I suppose for me, I started in pinball in 2007-ish. That's when I sort of started getting into pinball. So I was very much locked into pinball from that onwards. But that didn't necessarily make me think of that era and that's what I loved. I just went back to think about what is my favourite now after almost 20 years in pinball. Tim Kitzrow, Yeah, almost 20 years of pinball. What is my favorite era? So I actually went on to Pinside and as you know they've got a top 100, but you can make a custom top 100. So I decided to do that and I did it based off my 90s era because I feel like that is This is my current era of pinball that I really, really like. Now the top 100, if I start from the bottom, the very bottom one was South Park. Number 100, South Park. Just as a fuck you, Matt. But when you... So this actually changes to the noughties 2000s machines, mate? You're stuffed. No, no. That's made 1999. Good try. So the top 10, I mean this is a pretty sick top 10 man. You've got Medieval Badness, Twilight Zone, Attack from Mars, Monster Bash, Indiana Jones, Adam's Family, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Scared Stiff, Star Trek Next Generation, and Theatre of Magic was in there as well. Now, I mean, right under that you've got CV at 11, which I would argue should probably be above Star Trek Next Gen, even above Scared Stiff. Yep. But as you just sort of skip through them, you know, you've got Getaway High Speed 2, which is an awesome machine, Bram Stoker's Dracula, which a lot of people like, Cactus Canyon, believe it or not, at number 20, Congo Fishtails. And is this the order you put them in? No, no, no, this is based off Pinside's top 100. Oh, sorry. So I thought you made a top 100. I did. Oh yeah, but from the 90s. I made a top 100 of the 90s and what they do is they extrapolate the information of their top 100 and it actually goes to about 400 and then they put it in order of ratings that the Pinside have put it in. So I thought you manually chose them yourself. No, no, not at all. Because otherwise I'm very confused with your selection there. No, not at all, not at all. I'm just running through the machines that are now in that top 100 and hence why I feel like the 90s is the best era for me. So yeah, so Cactus Canyon lands at 20. Hugely popular and I know at the time there weren't many around whereas it's a bit different now. But you know, Congo, Fishtails, Indy 500, there's Champion Pub in there as well. You know, Big Bang Bar, Johnny Mnemonic, Radical Made It, admittedly, you know, starting to get into the 50s now, to be fair, Safe Cracker, so a very, very unique style game. Something I might get one day and I should have bought that one. Yep, you know, Lethal Weapon 3, so again, very, very popular in that regards, and then, yeah, as I said, at the very, very bottom, right underneath Hook, South Park. So, for me looking at that, that was a no-brainer because I actually did a list of my era of 2007 just to visually and mentally compare what I've seen comparable to the 90s. Would you believe I saw Jaws in there twice? Twice. I saw Godzilla in there twice. I saw Medieval Madness three times. And that's all in the top 20. Yeah. Because you've got a remakes and all this sort of shit. Okay. So you're saying in 2007, what? So I created a list, a top 100 list from 2000 to now. Oh, okay. Sorry, 2007 to now. Okay. Because you can do that. So that's, as I said at this top, that's my, that's where I started in pinball. So I was like, okay. So I wanted to compare what I'd seen in pinball comparable to what I thought was the best era of the 90s. So to repeat myself, Jaws is in there twice, Godzilla is in there twice, Medieval Madness is in there three times, Attack from Mars was in there like a few times as well. But those three machines alone are in the top 20. So out of the top 20, seven are from three different titles. Like I just thought, are we just in an era of manufacturers repeating themselves? They are void of any type of good high quality titles. So they're just like, let's pump Elvira House of Horrors was in there like three or four times, you know, because she's had a blood red machine and a anniversary machine and a special this and a special that. Back from Mars with us the same. So I just felt like for me, when you look at those 90s machines, the mechs that were involved, the gameplay, the IPs, and just that overall nostalgic feeling, which is maybe what I'm missing from the last 20 years. So maybe in 20 years time, it might be a bit different. But I just felt like the 90s for me was the era of machine. I couldn't say that much better than that. I don't think, almost, but it's very hard. You couldn't say it much better. Oh, no, no, but I'm just going to say, I'm just going to talk about my era. Sorry, I didn't mean to come across like that. I was about to say, but my choice, it is the 90s as well, 100%. So there's no real but then because we agree. Oh, no, no, but I just want to give my reasons. Yeah, I know, but there's no but. I agree, it's 90s for me as well. Yep. But... Yep. It's fucking... Oh, shouldn't say that. Too late. It is very hard because Metallica is my favorite machine. Yep. I do enjoy a lot of the new machines, especially with the Spike 2 system, and Jersey Jack coming into the scene as well. We've got these big movie assets, we've got these beautiful animations there. Yep. We've got a lot of assets in there. And I feel like Jersey Jack pulled us into the LCD era as well. Yes. They made everyone get better. Oh, they did. Yeah, 100%. But unfortunately, the mechs in all the new machines are lacking. They're pretty average compared to the 90s. And also how they withstand as well. Some of these mechs, I've got machines that are 30 plus years old and they're still going strong. Haven't had to fix them, but had to fix new things on brand new machines out of the box. We are sort of losing assets with Stern with things, I believe. Yeah, yeah, 100%. And we're just getting less for our money. Yeah. So it's 100% 90s for me. I grew up in that era. That's, as I've said at the start, you know, especially every time I went to time zone, I was on a pinball machine. If there was ever a pinball machine I could play, I'd play it. But we still have a good time at the moment. We still have, yeah, it's fun. Yeah, I agree with you that certainly, you know, your JJPs and that are pushing the boundaries a little bit. I must admit when I looked at my custom top 100 list that I did from 2007 to 2026, obviously what stood out was Woz and you know, Pirates and Hobbit to me as defining moments of pinball where I remember Wizard of Oz and everyone shit all over that big LCD screen, you know, they just put a TV in the back, what do you need that for? But everyone's kind of following in that space now. So, well it took Stern, I think it was about four years to catch three years because Wizard of Oz was 2014. Yep. And then Stern went on to spike two in 2016. So, not far off. Yeah. And I guess they were, they were smart in not doing a knee jerk. They wanted to do it right and to their credit, they certainly have. But yeah, I just, I couldn't go past everything that we had in the nineties in regards to what's, what's happened now. As I said, that, that repeat that what's going on now with these And so I got so many repeatable models you know, and vault as well, that started coming in. Yes. It's just like That's exactly, I know. It's dumb. It just left a sour taste in my mouth, comparable to reading through that list. I was like And yeah, and you had full IP back in the day. You had everything. Nothing was skimped on. And actually you know what I was meant to say as well? You only had one machine. You didn't have a pissing contest about having a collector's machine or you know, you just purely got one machine and that's it. Everyone's got the same machine. Yeah. It's a much better community, better vibe instead of going, oh, I've got a collector's edition. Yeah. You know? Yep. And spending a hell of a lot of money for no reason. Yeah. When, you know, you could get the premium for the exact same thing, lower price, but we could just go for a good old Bally Williams or 90s machine and you've just got the full kit caboodle there. Yeah. So, but next thing, the worst era was early noughties.
